Comment: Moved out and was charged for carpet replacement and a whole slew of other damages that were noted on my move in list prior to moving. I know for a fact the carpet wasn’t damaged.Update from moving out last year: They also claimed to lose my move-in checklist and couldn’t find it. Then when I told them I made a copy of it they miraculously found the original checklist I made when I moved in. Make sure you make copies or take pictures for proof that you actually filled out a checklist. After finally looking at my checklist they took a huge amount of from what they said I had to pay. So be careful they’re heavy with scams here!

Comment: I just wanted to first shout out to my husband who makes sure that the hallways and stairways are clean for everyone to use. Camden all this money you make off of us and the stairways are atrocious! Pee in bottles laying around, dead spiders everywhere, smelly animal hair and feces all over. It is a disgusting complex! The facilities workers do the absolute bear minimum. Thank God I married a man who cares about making sure the kids in this neighborhood have clean safe walkways and stairways to traverse. Avoid these apartments because they are expensive for no reason! It smells bad here all the time and the dogs bark non-stop! Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

They rip everybody off with their valet trash service that never picks up, but I have to hand it to them, its a great idea, over 700 apartments at $32 each is a great way to steal peoples money!You would think after a grisly double murder in the D building by Daniel Wozniak would have made them hire security, but there is no security, cars are broken into daily and mail and packages are stolen constantly. The complex is very unsafe.The disingenuous responses from management to the reviews here are hilarious, they dont care about the residents, they just want their money.Stay far away from Camden Martinique, you will regret moving here.

Comment: Cars get broken into every day here and there is no security (See pics). No cameras and nobody around to help. People sell drugs in plain sight in the parking area and elevators and there are tweakers sleeping in the stairwells. About 5-10 break-ins a week, very unsafe. Laundry never works, pipes broken and leaks everywhere. This place is really unsafe and the office does nothing and never answers the phone.

The other building have the same problem. They did nothing. They refused to put camera on parking garage for years. Cops said that it happened too often and even told me asking Camden to put the camera on parking. Some people get window broken for several times. Can not wait to get out...

Comment: DO NOT RENT from these people. If I could rate them zero stars I would. If you scroll through the reviews youll see that this is the common trend with this community. We lived at Camden Martinique for two very long years. When we moved in the carpets were dirty and there were German cockroaches throughout the unit. Our neighbors told us this was a regular thing in the F Building. Camden Martinique Management informed us that we would not be charged carpet cleaning or carpet repair/replacement charges upon move out because the existing carpet had almost reached the end of its life.... we had all of this in writing from the Community Manager... Fast Forward...Upon moving out Camden sent us a bill for that very same carpet they said we wouldnt be charged for. I sent them THREE emails reminding them they had said we would not be charged along with the letter in writing from the Community Manager. They didnt respond to any of my emails. One year after moving out they wrote to us to say they are sending us to collections. What a joke of a company?!! Its only $271 and Im sure most people would just pay them... but not me. Like I said, dont rent from them. They are an absolute joke of a company. P.S, Im still waiting for that email or phone call and its almost September 2023....

Comment: I walked up around 1 PM and saw there was construction and tried the leasing office. It said said it was open but the blinds were drawn and the doors were locked. Thinking maybe they moved operations to the resident office directly behind me. I turned, tried the left door, it was locked. The right door was unlocked and I proceeded in. A staff member immediately snapped at me that the door was locked and acted appalled that anyone would show up in the middle of the day. He said he was helping the couple he was with and wouldnt have time after. Stunned, I said I understand and I was simply trying to get some information about leasing and he said oh, yeah, if you just wait 45 minutes I can help you.... (all in a dismissive tone). This property has hundreds of units. If they only have one leasing agent, I feel for them, but the interaction told me everything I needed to know about how living there would be.

Comment: Horrible. They stole almost half of our deposit money (out of $5964) for “repairs” after we moved out, most of which weren’t even necessary. The lease was only 16 months and there was hardly any damage, most of it was minor and regular wear and tear. Maybe it’s because of the quality of the materials they used inside the apartments (such as they counters, bathtubs, carpets, etc) are the absolute worst of the worst. Everything chips and damages so easily and the only thing these guys do is Band-Aid fixes. They’re desperate to find the smallest reason to overcharge you for any nonsense they can come up with. These guys have tried every dirty trick in the book. My clothes also got stolen from the laundry room in March and when I went to the office to see if I can retrieve security footage, I was told there was none. When I asked to be compensated for the property I had lost on their premises due to a faulty door lock and poor maintenance, they refused. Horrible company, dishonest management, and unsafe. Honestly it never ends with these leasing companies and their shenanigans. If you wanna avoid all sorts of problems, I strongly advise to stay far away.

Comment: This place is horrible. The rent is very high for the amount of amenities that they offer. They have a gym and more than one hot tub. But I have lived here since 2022. One of the hot tubs has been closed for over six months. And the gym has been closed since May. Now theyre saying its gonna take another few months to repair the floors. I doubt that the gym will be open anytime soon. Theres also lots of flooding.

Comment: FACTS - beware when moving out take photos. In short, rented an apartment. I never used the stove or microwave and only use one shelf of the fridge. The apartment had new carpet. I only stayed there a 2 dozen nights out of 15 months. Never wore shoes on the carpet. No indention from furniture on the carpet. Only had a bed. Walk into the empty bedroom a few times. I bought a vacuum to fluff the carpet from a few foot prints before moving out. The apartment still smelled like new carpet. It was EXACTLY as it was before I moved in, with just a bed. When I say new it was brand NEW still. I was sent a bill from the company that replaced the carpet for 1100.00 along with a prorated bill from Camden for 600.00 to replace the carpet as if I was getting a deal. I called the company that replaced the carpet and asked why is there 2 bills. The company said no that was billed to Camden. Oh well why do I have it. (its to looks as if I am lucky to pay 600.00 instead of 1100.00.) I then went to the office and asked. They said Oh dont worry the carpets were not replaced. You only owe 150.00 for carpet cleaning. I voiced my concerns for the confusing bill and said please send me a new bill for 150.00. Waited 10 days and Never received one. I call so many times at least 8 times left messages. Finally tried a week later and spoke to a someone and they told me they would look into it. A week later they did not get back to me. Instead a collection agency contact me to tell me its going on my credit report if I do not pay. I asked if I can fight this SCAM they said yes but it be months of process. SO I PAID 450.00 that I did not owe. At the very least this was a scam to get extra money that could have gone to charity or back into my pocket instead of a company that steals people money. This is no different than THEFT. - BEWARE OF SCAMS

The reason being is because we have had great support from Rae. Rae has been such a blessing to my fiancé and I. Kept saying and repeating to me that he understands where I am coming from I was able to count it 3 times at least, due the conflict I have had with my roommate who was renting me a room and didnt tell me that I had to sign a lease with the Camden office. He seem like someone who knows how to play games. My roommate gave me a 30 days notice and he encouraged her to rush me out in 4 days. I am the one who was paying and got punishment for nothing and he let her get away with her lease violation although I was renting from her since October 2021. She was acting like a landlord and I had no idea that she had to add my name to her lease with the office. Let me tell you Kevin that you will never understand where I am coming from. I was discriminated by him and my roommate at the same time because of my race. He is acting like a typical sales person as he treats humans as they are numbers. I have sense his cold smile and behavior along with him trying hard to seem nice and sweet. The fact that he is using lies at his work was completely visible to me.

Comment: It’s a pretty quiet area in a convenient location, but I do NOT feel safe having anything delivered to my door due to the non stop package theft my neighbors have been experiencing. There has also been several car break ins and homeless people doing drugs and staying in the staircases or laundry rooms. Trash “valet” is mandatory in your lease and so is the internet and cable. And the additional parking fee is $100, not $30 per their website. They also have a tendency to double book assigned parking spaces so your car is at risk to be towed. Security is practically non-existent now and management’s response is almost always call the police for any problems. One time, a resident saw a homeless person using the jacuzzi! Now, there are also ducks hanging out at the pool. 🦆Their service maintenance team is excellent though, I hope that doesn’t change since it’s one of the very few perks of living here.

Comment: Wish I could give less than 1 star. Moved in Feb. and have had issues the entire time. Leak happened from upstairs and put in a service request with no response. Had to have my mother come out and find someone to come help. Both in my service request and from my mother they were told to keep the doors shut because of my service animal, however they would just walk out and leave the front door open. Laundry is always going down and when I called the front desk they kept telling me that it was working the day before (my 2 loads of soaking wet laundry apparently werent proof enough the dryers wouldnt start). Weve contacted about a neighbor that bangs on the walls, yells, and blasts music and they have yet to do something about it and we havent been the first to complain. If anyone is thinking of living here, I promise its not worth all the money you have to pay.

Comment: Camden Martinique has wowed me again! I was notified that I would have a new assignment in Nashville, Tennessee with less than 2 weeks notice. I went to Camden Sunday bot too long before closing and asked Jacob if he could help transfer. He made this whole transfer happen so quickly by reaching out to a new property . I had to fo back in on Monday because the Tennessee office had minimal staff and was about to close. He had already spoken with them. However, I decided i wanted a 2 bedroom at the other property at a lower cost . He inspected my apartment, accepted my transfer application sent it to the new property and made it easy for me to get my payment to them. The new property sent me the lease within 2 hours of leaving there property all because Jacob was so helpful and knowledgeable in orchestrating the transfer. He was patient, kind, comforting. He kade my day and set me at ease. I an so thankful for Camden and Jacob!!

Comment: Cockroaches everywhere, they are flying especially in the evenings. I used to live on the 3rd floor and the higher floors are a bit cleaner but there are water leakage problems. I saw a giant rat near the elevator. I was pretty disappointed since they increase the prices every year but the building gets dirtier and older.

I moved out at the end of February and I still have not received my security deposit 3 months later. There was a mess up on the address and I have left several messages and sent many emails to Michael Raskin and at this point he is just ignoring me. He responded once saying he was going to “reach out” to someone about this but that was over a month ago. I get it, I moved out I’m not your problem anymore but I would hope you can at least direct me to a person that can actually help me if you can’t.

Comment: I moved to Camden Martinique a couple months back and I have to say, I have really enjoyed it thus far. The team here is very attentive and helpful when I reach out, which has been great. Lori and Michael were awesome with answering any of my questions prior to moving in. Maintenance is always willing to go above and beyond with any of my service requests. All around, I am very happy that I chose this location. I’m near tons of food and shopping, and not to mention the beach is super close. Also, the neighborhood is safe enough to take my 2-year-old on multiple walks a day! Big thumbs up to Camden for such an awesome community!

Comment: Updated 4/15/21Updating my review since i cant add a new one. Camden Martinique is your standard apartment complex, with a great location. What brings it a step above the rest is the complex with patios that are larger than youll find in most complexes.More importantly though are the maintenance team, I have to say it again. You can always see them around working on the complex and they will always wave hi. Today we had Franklin and Jose make repairs. They are friendly, professional, speedy, I can go on, but know that if something is broken with the apartment (which they are older so it will happen) they are just a service request away.OG Post:The maintenance team is awesome, especially Jr. He always goes above and beyond to make sure the job is done right . He is professional, timely, and friendly, resulting in an overall great experience.

I pay my 1/2 of went and my roommate owes 8750 as of 2/22/2021. But I have to take the eviction with him because he chooses to exploit the rent mandate. I asked my roommate to remove me from the lease so I can move else where and he said Im not signing anything so now I am forced to settle this in court more than likely now. Comment: I have lived here short of 3 years. There are times where the upstairs neighbors are loud and stompy, but what can you expect. This is regular for apartments. Not much you can do but ask them to stop or ask the office to intervene. Management has been kind and extremely helpful towards me. I needed to borrow their printer the other day. The public computer was taken away when the new parking situation started. But Michael was kind enough to let me use a computer and their printer so I could print out resumes. Thank you Michael!Edit: Ive now lived here for 6 years. Over the last 3 years since my previous review, my feelings towards this place have diminished. Every time my lease came up to renew, they tried raising the rent about $500. I fought it everytime. The complex has been constantly under construction. And its still not done. My building is the only one not inundated with high noise levels daily. They assigned my parking space 3 times and it nearly got my car towed by the new assignment without them knowing it was also my spot. The security here is a joke. I havent seen any guard here in months but they must exist because the back gate is closed and locked every night. After years of continuous vehicle break-ins, they still have not placed more than 1 camera in the parking structure (right by the gate that opens but nowhere else). There is no mirror in the driveway from the upper to the lower parking levels in my building so many times cars have almost collided. I could go on and on but whats the point? Im leaving the complex soon. Good luck.

This is the second Camden Community I have resided in. I was very particular with the type of apartment and location I wanted and the leasing consultant found a great fit for me.The leasing staff and maintenance team is very friendly and always attentive to ones needs.The fact that I have covered designated parking spot with easy access to an elevator is a plus. The parking garage only grants residents with a gate key access.Most residents seem to be in their 20s and 30s, which makes sense considering the nearby college. I have seen families and older residents.If youre into properties with a nice landscape design youll really like this property. It has a variety of tall, medium, and small plants which really complements how open the common space is. I really enjoy my walks across the community. It offers a lot of green space throughout the property for residents to walk their dogs.This property is walking distance to dozens of restaurants along Harbor Blvd. Vons, Target, and Sprouts are down the street.My only negative experience is the amount of residents who choose not to wear masks, especially in the elevator. There are signs throughout the property reminding residents of social distancing and face covers so staff tries their best. It is more a problem with the residents. The community follows and enforces state and local guidelines/ordnances to mitigate the spread of COVID which I really appreciate.

They are so friendly and quick to respond when request are put in. I never had any issue with waiting multiple days for an issue in my home to be fixed. They are always so kind! Shout out the all the guys!Second the office staff are the absolute best! From my move in with Lori who made it so easy and simple to when it came time for my renewal with Janet she was so understanding and really gave me all my options if I could stay. Even though I did have to put in my notice the move the how staff made the move out quick and easy. I will definitely miss stopping by the office and chatting with them and Carrie who is one of the nicest people youll ever meet!As the property itself its in such a convenient location close to everything! I will miss driving into the community and seeing all the beautiful landscaping and palm trees. The front pool is so nice and makes you feel like its a resort!Also I would like to shout out Mark the community manger and Michael resident coordinator they always take the time to talk to us resident and communicate things going on in the community. I often see them walking around he property and really taking the time to be involved in things going on wether is construction project or even just making sure things are kept nice!I would definitely come back if the opportunity ever presented itself! Comment: The staff are amazing. Great people. Maintenance crew is the best I have ever seen. But the complex had fundamental issues. Non stop construction. Security issue. And ultimately I am guessing corporate politics because Camden is similar to Irvine Company. It is a multi million if not billion dollar business and thus the politics. When the mailbox in multiple units were broken into, residents had to make a trip down to USPS to get their mail. Some of those mail pieces must have been pay checks medications, credit carda, DMV documents. I personally made trips to USPS 5 days in a row to get my credit card because mine expired. I absolutely could not believe it took them 2 months to fix the mailboxes. I am moving out of here in few weeks, not because Camden is a bad but there are better options for similar prices. Not a bad place, but unless you are out of options, look somewhere else is my recommendation. I know the staff tries their best, so I wont blame anyone ever but the politics killed the community. It killed good parts about CA during COVID as well so I guess we are all in this together or whatever.

I paid all my dues shown in the account within a few days of move out including all additional calculated utility charges, and now when I was trying to see when can I get the remainder of the money back from my security deposit, I found they already charged the security deposit to some BS and and I still owe them additional money. When I call them to discuss the concern they put me on hold for more than 45 mins (and counting)......I just want to say to the management - if a customer wants to move out its their prerogative and they should be treated with same respect and responsiveness as the new customers.

What drew me to Camden Martinique was my prior knowledge of the quality apartments at Camden Landmark and the ease to work with the leasing agents should any problems arise.Unfortunately a problem arose in my apartment here at Camden Martinique. This is not unexpected due to the age of the building. I ended up with a water leak that was going long enough to cause a severe mold issue in my kitchen. None of my property was damaged and the leak was not obvious.The manager Mark Huerta has been so easy to deal with through out this ordeal. When I thought he might fight me over paying my increased electricity bill due to the large machines placed in my apartment to dry it out, he gladly agreed to handle the excess bill placed on me. In addition, he offered to waive a lot more such as paint, cleaning, and carpet replacement when I decide to leave. I did not ask for this, he offered.Mark, I am impressed with you managing skills. I know this is a big place, but thank you for giving attention to me and my unit as you have.

Since moving into (unit) in July 2019, several issues explained below have occurred that have ultimately led to this point and necessity to break the lease.On August 6, 2019, in an attempt to walk around debris that was not properly cleaned up and blocked off from the concrete planter construction in front of my unit, I severely broke my toe which required an Emergency Room visit with bills totaling over $4,000. I could not walk unassisted by crutches for 5 weeks and required 3 unpaid days off work. If the debris were cleaned appropriately as they should have been, this incident would not have occurred. Frankly, Camden Martinique could be held liable for the incidence and related expenses if I chose to pursue legal action.The stairs attached to my bedroom wall rattle each and every time someone walks up or down them. This means that both my husband and I are woken up several times per night, every single night, since moving in. This sleep deprivation has affected my work, led to the development of frequent migraines, and overall has detrimentally affected my health. I simply cannot take any more nights of interrupted sleep and the sleep deprivation we have experienced.The patio, a major reason why we signed a lease at Camden Martinique, has been unusable since moving in. Within days of move-in, construction began on the concrete planter adjacent to the apartment, leading to a thick layer of mud on the patio. We were assured the mess would be cleaned upon completion of the project. We have since requested it be cleaned on 3 separate occasions, both in person and via email, which has still not been completed to this day, over the course of the past 6 months, which is completely inexcusable. We emailed Michael Raskin 11/12/19 with photos of our muddy patio, caused by the construction debris and rainwater, and still, the matter was not addressed. We have been paying for space, month after month, that we have not been able to utilize, and our limit of patience has been far exceeded.Upon signing the lease over a month before move-in, we toured the outside of the unit as it was occupied, where there were plenty of trees and bushes surrounding the unit, allowing for adequate privacy. However, upon move-in, the trees and bushes were torn out, which allows for any person walking by to see directly into the unit through the bedroom window and sliding patio door. Consequently, to avoid invasion of privacy, my only option is to keep the blinds closed at all times, leaving the unit dark and dim 24/7. If I were previously informed, prior to signing the lease, that the unit would lose all its privacy due to the landscaping project, we never would have signed a lease for this unit. We feel the unit was misrepresented and substantially changed between the time we signed the lease and moved in.The shower is inadequate for use for any person over 4 tall. The shower head protrudes from the wall at approximately 5 high, which requires both my husband and I (56 and 60) to crouch under the shower head, to adequately wash our hair and upper bodies. I have attached a photo to demonstrate just how completely ridiculous the shower is. An appropriately usable shower is a basic expectation of living under the lease at Camden Martinique.Lastly, despite skepticism, we have had unexplainable instances occur that are extremely alarming and baffling. We have had heavy objects (20+lbs) get pushed off furniture, with no plausible cause (video attached). Our dog aggressively alerts us to something that we cannot see, with hairs standing up, and aggressive barking. I loved the tour and still hope to live there. the only thing I can complain about is that the person who told me to apply and who gave me and my husband the tour, knowing my credit score was poor told me to apply and not to worry. she told me that as long as I had no evictions or bankruptcies, I would get approved. I paid 4 adult applications fees and a deposit of $400. I did not get approved, was out $160.00 and did not get my $400 deposit back until a month after the denial, I was told that if I wanted to move the Camden, I would have to pay a $5,000.00 deposit plus the first month rent obviously. so in other words, if you do not have great credit, its better not to apply. I still hope to live there but unfortunately Im in such desperate need for a place for me and my family that I will probably have to settle for a less desirable area. Credit leads the way even in the middle of basic needs...

Comment: I’m writing this review based solely off of my experience from touring this complex.Lori showed me around Camden Martinique, and she was very friendly and accommodating.I looked at 1 bedrooms. They have both AC and heat, as well as balconies. The appliances are all brand new, and the bathroom had been recently redone as well. One thing to note is that they basically just repainted the cabinets in the units I looked at, but they were in good condition overall.Some of the units have fireplaces which is nice. There are parking garages beneath every building and there are laundry units on every floor of every building.There have some nice amenities and a recently redone gym. I was very close to moving into this apartment, but it came down to price and complex size.The complex has over 700 units, so it can be quite a walk to your unit. Also, they require you to pay for their media plan (internet and cable) which is almost $100 extra a month.Add that to utilities and the unit was out of our price range. However if you can afford it Camden seems like a good place to live, and Lori was so nice!

They keep saying they are looking into it. They will tow your car even if you place a note in your car about the situation. Towing charges are $357.00.The washers and dryers dont work or break down often. It took over two months to get the mold cleaned up from one of the laundry units.The parking garage doesnt seem to work because people will just follow you in once a resident opens the gate. Drug deals go in in the garage and people smoking pot.The pools look beautiful but a lot of the times people that dont live here use them and dirty the pool areas.

Comment: Ive been living at Camden for a little more than a year now and I have a lot to say. First off, the actual apartment itself is nice and I happen to live in the back of F building which is nice and quiet. Ive never had any problems with neighbors. However, there is a serious issue with parking and handicap accessibility. If you need to use handicap parking, do NOT live in F building because its by far the least accessible building in the complex. I wish Camden would stop touting that their property is accessible! Even though it technically is, it feels like theyve done the absolute bare minimum for their disabled residents and really dont care when its brought up as an issue. To make matters worse, Camden absolutely refuses to install security cameras in the parking garage even though everyone here is basically on their hands and knees begging for it because of the sheer volume of car break ins. Luckily, I havent been a victim of that but Ive talked to many people about it and its a huge issue. I have mixed experience with the leasing office. Some team members are fantastic and other are rude, but the general consensus seems to be that Camden as a whole cares more about money and looks than our safety and well-being.

Of all of these Team Members, Lorenzo has gone out of his way to help me and answer my questions on numerous occasions. He recently made sure I had an air filter that I had been trying to get from one of the Maintenance Team Members for weeks. I asked Lorenzo about getting me a filter and he actually dropped the filter off at my apartment before he left for the day. Lorenzo is very knowledgeable, friendly and he acts like he actually cares! He goes out of his way to help me and my neighbors. He gets a Five Star Rating from Me!!

Comment: Me and my wife lived here for a year and a half. We noticed a few things in the first couples months of living there. There were police on premises every single week because cars were getting broken into in the locked underground parking garage. Constant smoke/weed everywhere, and irresponsible pet owners. We were very fortunate no one had broken into our car that was parked in the garage or out on the street. Finally after about ten or eleven months of everyone pleading to get cameras installed I finally was told from Jillian the manager there, they will not be installing cameras even though everyone on the leasing team was saying oh its in the works or oh we are looking into it. I was told it has to do with the city. I called the city and the police to ask why and they told it wasnt on them, Camden just didnt want to do it. So ok, first lie staff is great I guess. We resigned our lease since we couldnt find anywhere else that was as cheap. This is when all hell broke loose here. They removed our tennis courts without telling us, they had been raising our utilities without telling us, they took away the parking within the complex without telling us. The F building was practically falling apart and was being held up by stilts underground. They took all the plants out from every apartment to make it look better when in reality there was water damage and they had to resurface everything to every single building. Our neighbors that moved in next to us were growing, selling and smoking so much weed that it was coming through the vents and stinking up our apartment. Multiple complaints put in about these people not just from us and camden did nothing about it. We finally told them how unhappy we were, gave them our two months and moved out. We didnt pay a move fee thank god. To top it all off, because of how much smoke and weed is here, my wife developed asthma while living here. Our hallway reeked of either cigarettes or weed every time I opened the front door. Camden did nothing about it. So good luck if you choose to move in. This is not a family place. Theres a lot of people here that live off daddys money. Now that we have been moved out for a couple weeks, they took our entire deposit and are charging us more because of all the extra fees which is a joke. The only good thing about this place was a the couple friends we made and the maintenance which there isnt enough of for how many people that live here. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Good luck to those who still live here.

Comment: My husband and I moved here a year and a half ago and we couldn’t be happier. Yes, we’ve had some annoying residents but I appreciate how management quickly handled the situation. They went as far as giving us a small gift for the all the troubles, something so little goes a long way. A personal thanks to Megan who has been helping me since day one, your hard work is definitely appreciated! The maintenance team is very responsive to requests and always say hello when I’m walking my dog. The amenities are great, they recently remodeled the gym and it looks amazing! They have a small dog park, super convenient to let your pup run around for a bit. We have the pool and grill close to our building which is easily accessible.Camden has had several events which have been great and just last night they had the In n Out truck! How awesome is that!Out of the 3 complex’s in OC we have lived at this has been my favorite, location is perfect close to Target, Costco, and lots of places to dine at.Thank you Camden Martinique for letting us call this place home!

Megan goes above and beyond to help everyone she can..and she does it with a smile and such sincerity. She never gets overwhelmed and is always a pleasure to talk to. I cant say enough good things about her. Angela was also so helpful and always willing to find a way to make me feel at ease and works tooth and nail to make sure everyone is happy . We were absolutely in love with our first apartment and when we upgraded to a 2 bedroom Megan and Mandy were amazing at helping us resolve any problems we encountered. My 8 month old daughter loves going into the office because they are just so excited to see her. Anytime I run into one of the staff while out and about they always ask to make sure everything is still going smoothly for us. Comment: My husband and I have lived at Camden Martinique for about 6 months. We relocated from out of state and picked this apartment complex sight unseen because we have a 90 pound dog. My main criteria in choosing a place was for the dog, and there is a fenced in off-leash area for my pup to play in. The community is completely dog friendly (well, no pets at the pools or gym) and there are many pet stations with bags and cans with lids to properly clean up after our pets. Pet fees are reasonable.This is the first apartment complex I have lived in, and I was nervous about the noise of living with a high population of college students. We discovered pretty quickly that the weekends are quiet around here, I guess all the students go home for the weekends? During the week, hearing noise from outside is rare, too. Im a super light sleeper and I have no problems.I appreciate that the community is constantly working to make changes for improvement. Since I have been here they have completely changed the visitor parking system which has drastically reduced the amount of traffic through the complex, they are making landscaping updates, they have added locks to laundry room doors at the request of tenants.... they listen to suggestions. Weve been nothing but happy at where are! And the location is awesome, close enough to walk to Vons, Target, Sprouts, restaurants, etc. I would recommend! Thank you, JB

Comment: My wife and I lived here for almost 3 years and really enjoyed it as our first place together. Management is always trying to improve the experience, and unfortunately there are a few bad residents that end up ruining it for everyone else, however that is possible any apartment complex you go. The maintenance team is very responsive to requests and will replace many things without asking to give tenants the benefit of the doubt. Every unit is clean (if you are clean), has all appliances included, CENTRAL A/C (which I really loved), and great floor plans.I think that other residents on these reviews either expected too much considering they are living in Costa Mesa (parking, noise, people), or were unfortunately placed near bad neighbors. We were in building E which was usually quiet, and our studio in the corner had great light and parking spot right by the elevator.Couldnt really ask for more from a first apartment and will certainly remember it for years to come as our first place. Thank you Camden Martinique for a great first home!

Comment: Youve been WARNED!!! If I could vote zero stars, I would.My family and I have lived here for over a year. The management team is the worst! Robert and Jordan are arrogant aholes.To cut it halfway short, they made changes ever since the previous manager resigned and now treat people like numbers. They dont care about you or your family. All they care about is your $$$. Yet they dont tend to residents concerns about the safety and upkeep of the community. They changed the parking rules so they can tow cars much easier than before. Quite a few of our neighbors cars were broken into including my own while parked in the underground assigned parking lot. They refuse to install surveillance cameras in parking lots as requested. I am sure they can afford to as much as they charge for rent. They treat their maintenance crew the same as their residents...poorly. Aside from management, some neighbors that moved in after us brought their trashy habits with them and leave a messy display for all to see on their balconies. Some choose to smoke on their balconies so you can never open your windows or patio doors to breathe fresh air which hikes up bill for air conditioning. They drop fast food garbage trails for others to step in. Play loud music all hours of the day and night as if they live in a stadium. The apartment complex may look nice in parts from the outside, but trust me... you dont want to live here unless youre looking to live in a giant garbage-plex!!!

Comment: I lived here for a little over a year and can tell you that your experience living here really depends on which building you live in. I lived in Building A, which is the quietest and doesnt experience nearly as many problems as the other buildings for some reason. I honestly felt like I lived in a different world when I would receive the Daily Digest e-mails containing neighbors observations/comments.I am giving the overall experience 4 stars, but Management deserves 5 stars. I visited 2 days before New Years Eve (12/30/2015), the morning after the house I was renting was burglarized, and Kevin completely empathized and quickly helped me explore all of my options. He showed me apartments and floor plans in different buildings and was completely honest with me about what other people complain about - cant tell you how much I appreciate that integrity. I leased an apartment after touring the property, then picked up the keys the next morning and moved that same day.Rent/Utilities:The good thing about the place is most utilities are combined - the only thing you have to pay separately is electricity. There is an option called the Technology Package - the complex has a discounted rate with Time Warner, so you can have cable and wifi built in to your rent at a discount rate. Such a great deal.Neighbors:I never had any problems with my neighbors - everyone was friendly and looked out for each other e.g. questionable noises in the courtyard, party people walking around after a late night out, etc haha. And like I said, it really depends on which building you live in, so you might hear things of other buildings, but Building A is the place to be for some reason.Amenities:- A laundry room on every floor in every building was such a convenience. I never had problems doing laundry and never had to wait to use the machines. And the machines take credit/debit cards so you dont have to borrow coins from your kids piggy banks.- There is a convenient garbage chute on every floor in every building as well, which makes it convenient to throw trash quickly - you dont have to carry large trash bags around to a bin or anything.- We used the gym and pool frequently and have no complaints - both are never too crowded, and the gym had legit weights and cardio equipment to be called a gym, not just a room with 3 treadmills like some places, haha!Parking:Parking is tough here. You are assigned one parking spot in a gated garage, then parking is first come first serve outside of the gates around the property, and there is street parking outside of the complex. Unfortunately parking is few and far between, so I rarely ever had guests over - didnt want to put guests through the hassle.Security:Security patrols the property and garages, and Costa Mesa PD drives around since Orange Coast Community College is right across the street. Any time I had to call security (for minor issues), they were quick to respond, which was appreciated. There is 24/7 line you can call as well if you need assistance with anything.Moving out:I didnt have any problems moving out at all - Management was responsive and easy to work with, and they actually give you several notices and plenty of time to decide if you want to renew your lease or not. I wasnt expecting to get my full deposit back since most places find small, silly reasons to keep your money, but I actually got my full deposit back here! I am truly appreciative of Camdens integrity in everything.In summary, I would live here again. I probably would have stayed longer if I wasnt offered a steal on my next place. There are people who have leased their place for over 10-15 years here, and I can see why - it is a nice and simple place if you keep to yourself, and Management is easy to work with. Thankful for my stay here and appreciative of the staff!

Comment: The black security guard harasses women near the pool area. I didnt know this was a problem until it happened to me. The pervert started hitting on me, and wanted to know if I lived alone. After which he threatened to remove me from the pool if I refused to give him my apartment number immediately.I cant swim peacefully in my own apartment complex for which I pay $2000 monthly. I noticed a lot of other females stopped using the pool facility after that. The management is totally useless and didnt do anything about it. They are a little twisted themselves. This place is run by thugs. This is by far the most unsafe community in Orange County I have lived in.Not to mention the place is roach infested. Im not exactly sure why they provide pest control? As a joke, maybe? Youll find new and exciting pests everyday in every corner of your house. Toilet flush doesnt work, trash in the fireplace, broken fridge, broken stove, constant water shut off? Maintenance people argue with you but they wont fix the problem at any cost.Bottom line is:Do not move here but if you are here beware of the black guy. Use the pool when the older white gentlemen is around. Good luck!

Comment: DONT RENT HERELOW QUALITY NEIGHBORS- Drugs everywhere. I woke up at 2 in the morning to my neighbor screaming that her boyfriend wasnt breathing, turns out he overdosed on White China. I waited with them and attempted CPR until the paramedics arrived.- The tenants can often be heard screaming and fighting and throwing things in the courtyards, Ive had to call the police twice.- Loud stomping from upstairs neighbors, music coming through the walls constantly regardless of the time.CRIMEEvery few weeks theres news of someones car being stolen, broken into, or vandalized and yet there seems to be no attempt made to combat this problem (no cameras anywhere). Security officers DONT DO ANYTHING.MANAGEMENTOnce you sign the lease the management wont care about you or your complaints. Over the course of my lease I tried many times to call the management office and have problems resolved but I either got voicemail or when they did reply they made it clear that they werent interested in helping me at all. They had a chance to fix this relationship long ago.STRUCTURES- Paper thin walls- Loud stomping from upstairs neightbors, music coming through the walls.- You can hear people talking every time they walk past your apartment. There is NO sound isolation.- The water is shut off weekly.- I came home to a flooded bathroom full of weird brown sludge.- The elevators are poorly maintained and are going to waste a lot of your time.ENVIRONMENT- Car alarms going off EVERY DAY, multiple times. Sometimes for 30 minutes at a time.- Dog poop everywhere in the grass.- People leave target shopping carts everywhere. Its beautiful.All of this being said, I did survive. For this reason Im willing to give this place 1 star. This is a seriously stressful place. Id look elsewhere.

The guys came in to fix the next day. The cut a big hole in the wall to fix it. In a few days they fixed the pipes and filled in the hole and you couldnt even tell it had ever been open. Comment: WOMEN: DO. NOT. RENT. HERE. IT IS NOT SAFE.If it was an option to give this place zero stars, I would give it zero stars. I recently interacted with building management alongside a friend who was a resident. She was being stalked and harassed by another resident (male). After several weeks he escalated to accosting her in the parking garage one night and then blocking her car with his car as she tried to leave for work the next morning. He got out of his car as she was blocked in and tried to gain access to her car to get her out. The garage has NO security, NO cameras, and NO cell service. She was stuck in her car and had no ability to call 911. THIS PLACE IS LIKE AN OPEN INVITATION TO CRIMINALS, LUNATICS, DRUG ADDICTS AND SEX OFFENDERS.When we reported this to building management, you would think that, especially as a woman, the manager would have been appalled, sympathetic and proactive. Instead she was rude, dismissive, and said there was nothing she could do. Her attitude was absolutely shocking and really disgusting, practically shaming the victim and implying that her story wasnt true until she had a police report to prove it. There is literally no excuse for such an irresponsible and insensitive response.We went to the police who gave a restraining order and were FAR FAR more helpful than the clock-punching excuse for a property manager. The police investigator said the lack of security at this complex is known, and that they receive calls on a regular basis.Read the other reviews... this place is mismanaged in the extreme, and is nothing more than an expensive place to put your life, your loved ones and your personal possessions in peril. Go elsewhere so you can live in peace.

Comment: Not a place for a family or stay off drugs this place is flooded with drugs Heroin, meth, weed, x, and alcahol. The staff suck along with security but they change security guards every couple months. Car was broken into and got put in jail for false accusations because of them. The people there all think there you know what dont stink but it smells bad trust me when I say it dont think your gonna move here with your chick or husband and think its gonna be happy ever after cause it will be nothing but a disaster and divorce. A lot of crime mostly murder and domestic abuse and break ins. Homicide detectives there a lot and honestly I will never recommend anyone I love to move here. They evict everyone and dont care if your sleeping they will have the sheriff come take you out the day your three day notice is up. Horrible staff and management . Sorry Camden you get one star .

Comment: We were very hesitant to move in here a year ago because of the reviews....that being said, we just renewed our lease for another 15 months because this place is actually pretty great. The staff is excellent and will help with any issues that occur if you ask. We had a drainage issue on our patio and they totally rebuilt it- but you have to ASK. Security is my only complaint but recently they have been taking steps to improve.

Comment: Half the outlets in the apartment didnt work, and neither did the light switch in the bedroom. I had an ant infestation and I live on the 3rd floor, and barely kept any food in my apartment. They were exclusively in my bath tub for some reason. Also, they will screw you over when you move out. They charge $85 for what they call a full Cleaning fee, but then some how get away with charging another $45 for a carpet cleaning. The complex itself is ok. A lot of people drive through blasting music at night, and police are there at least once a week. Its overpriced and not worth it. You would be much better off finding a different place

Comment: My car got broken into, $500 worth of stuff gone and all the office tells me is to call the cops. They lied to me and told me that they have 24 hour security, but if you call the security line, they straight up tell you that they have NO ONE ON SITE FROM 12AM TO 6AM. They have cameras in the parking structures, but they dont work. They arent even on. This place is a joke, and no one should EVER lease to this place. We have bug issues, robberies, drug addicts, and more. The office even told me that security wont do anything except stand there and call the cops. This is ridiculous, how can anyone feel safe? Ive already filed a complaint with the BCA today, now Yelp, and I will keep going until this place is shut down or they change their ways. Camdens, I know youre going to respond to this post, but honestly, save your breathe, Ive heard all of your excuses already. Since Ive lived here, we have had problem after problem, and so on. There are cops CONSTENTLY outside the apartments for god doesnt even know what, along with young adults doing heroin in the bathrooms and leaving their dirty needles behind. Camdens, you need to change your ways. As for me? Onto the next site to leave another complaint on this place and keep looking for another place to live.

Comment: This review used to list everything bad about the place, it was an honest (and upset) review, with lots of terrible things to list... but after seeing it only get worse after my review had been up for a while, Ive come to the conclusion that:***Bad reviews dont fix a place, nor do they discourage new residents. They seem to do the opposite, attracting bad people and keeping them there.*** This applies to every public review of any establishment.There are a lot of positive things about the community and I hope that some people and residents who choose to live here might make an effort to make the place better by working together or demanding change. Comment: Weve been here for 8 months, and this is the worst place we have ever lived.My wife and I are both just out of college, and we thought living across the street from OCC would be a good way to meet and connect with people our age. What we got were constant parties thrown by the bros upstairs, complete with wall-rattling bass and shouting matches until as late as 5am. When we went up to ask them if they could keep it down, we were assured that it was a one-time thing since they had friends visiting. It wasnt long however, until we reached the point where we were filing complaints with security several times per week. After six months of talking with the Camden office, the problem residents were finally evicted.Not long after, a lovely couple moved into their unit, but at least two incidents drove them to move out almost as soon as they moved in: 1. They got a bad first impression when their headboard was stolen while they were moving into their apartment, and 2. They saw the method in which my car was broken into (convertible top sliced open) and feared their convertible would be broken into next.Which brings me to the next problem. My car has been broken into twice in the last 5 weeks while parked in the gated parking garage, resulting in well over $500 worth of stolen and damaged property. Both times the convertible top was sliced open (one of the times they smashed my window for good measure). The thieves that frequent Camdens parking garages are alway sure to steal gate remotes so they can get back in next time. There is absolutely nothing that the police can do about it due to Camdens lack of taking responsibility or action for what happens in their garages (not to mention both times I called the police they were already on the property responding to other emergencies).These incidents are far from isolated. The first time my car was broken into, my wife and I had left to go to dinner, and in the hour we were gone mine and two other cars had been broken into. While we stood around waiting for the police to show up, several neighbors came up to us to let us know that they had also had their cars broken into in the past few months, one man had even had his first floor apartment broken into. When the cops finally showed up, we found out they had been delayed because in a different Camden building a woman who used to live here had broken back into her old apartment to steal what she could. I know there are a lot of apartments in this complex, but the frequency of crime here is too extreme to ignore, especially when we pay as much for rent as we do.In response to all of the crime, Camden has switched security companies, but any talk of increased security in the garages has been quashed by limits in their security budget. It may not be the fault of the staff who work here, but its not something residents should have to put up with either.As a final note, Camden has attempted to give their rapidly tanking rating a boost by offering compensation for positive reviews. On June 26 a message was sent out to residents from the property manager saying I have a $20 Starbuckss gift card for the first person who writes a positive review on Yelp or Google about their amazing experience at Camden Martinique.

Comment: So a little while after we first moved in someone had climbed into our balcony and stole my roommates bike and tried to break into our storage right? (Were four girls, so naturally it freaked us out a lot since were not allowed weapons and that was one door shy from where we were sleeping.)We finally got one of those bamboo privacy fences which I liked because the privacy, and my roommates loved because it made them feel safer. Not a week later we were told to take it down because it was against community aesthetic.I called the number on the phone and explained why we had it and asked what measures we could take aside from this or what the complex would be doing about it.They replied, Nothing, if a thief wanted to get in that badly theyd find a way through it anyway.I really liked the Camdens and theyd be nothing but helpful before this. I work in customer service and the LEAST they could have done is PRETENDED to care about our safety. Youd think thatd be their first priority, but apparently not. So fore-warning! I was appalled by this response.

Comment: I have lived in this community for almost 4 years and I havent a single complaint. The items that people are negatively reviewing are things that you see at every apartment complex. The negative complaints about parking and being towed are most likely being towed for parking in the fire lane (which is illegal). I have lived communities in Irvine, and Newport Beach and they are no different then Camden Martinique. The community is beautiful and well taken care of. There are constantly staff walking around and ensuring the grounds are kept neat and tidy. The pools and hot tubs are always sparkling clean and never over crowded. The maintenance staff is always friendly and ever so helpful.My most favorite thing about this community is the staff. The staff is amazing! The leasing office is open 7 days a week and is always willing to help no matter if you are a current resident or a future resident. The Manager Crystal does a great job of ensuring that the rules are being followed and is always friendly when you visit the office. Their Bookkeeper Nysa is easy to talk to when you have questions or concerns with your rent or lease renewals. She does her very best to work with your current situation. The Resident Service Manager Justin goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that every resident feels like they are a part of the Camden Family. His smile, and upbeat personality are infectious. He has gone beyond my expectations to help me out whenever I needed him without hesitation. Camden is very lucky to have such an amazing Resident Service Manager! I would definitely recommend this community to my friends and family.

Comment: Was late on my rent by 4 days and they tacked on an absurd amount of late charges (roughly $700)! Enough to where I couldnt come up with the whole amount and they WOULD NOT accept anything less... I had the rent plus half the late fees less than a week after rent was due and they STILL wouldnt take my certified check because the other half of the late fees werent there. They eventually evicted me because I wouldnt pay $2000 for my $1300 rent!!! Then they hire a credit company that reports the debt I owe them TWICE to the credit bureaus. THE SAME DEBT WAS DUPLICATED AND REPORTED TWICE!!!! Ive been battling the creditors and their unethical tactics are about to land them in court! Thanks a lot for this nightmare!!!

Had a nice guy come in and fix all the problems that I had and he was on it as soon as he walked in. There are a lot of students that lives here too and overall they keep to themselves. Great community. Great service.

Comment: This is really trush hell apartment. DO NOT MOVE IN THIS PLAC if you want to live longer!!First, there is no security work in this apartment. NO safety anymore!! Just one month ago, I saw there was a big car accident in front of my apartment at midnight!! NO security came until I called the 911 !!Second, people working in the leasing office no one is fair and nice. They never try to solve the apartment problem for you, they never treat you as custmer!! the only thing they did is find a way to charge you extra money by their own law. Never use their online account system !!Third, their interior systerm sucks! everything is easy to be broke,therefore, I called them to fix before I move out. BUT, after move out they charge me over $1000 and no diposit back.Fourth, I lived there one year I have got seriously sleeping problem because so many people party there at least five times a week!! And the apartment never care about this even you go tell them.Fifth, you never can come to the jacuzzi or swimming pool because it is like a public resort. everyday, people from everywhere just gethering together make party there even they dont live there. I cant go because there was no space for me. it is soooooo rediclous........DO NOT think this is a resort apartment, there is just a hell with a lot of bugs!! BE CAREFUL! Choose other apartment if you want do not want to waste your money and have a peaceful life.

Comment: DONT LIVE HERE!!!!! its all a facade! Me and my husband thought this was a luxury apartment but boy were we fooled. We knew we made a mistake after the second week, the rent is way too high for this dump and on top of it they dont care about this place at all. We lived next to two college kids who partied all night, we called every single night to complain and they did NOTHING! Finally we had to start calling the police. Its trashy and loud - I moved out as soon as the lease ended. Please read all the reviews they are 100% true.
