This should be your go-to place for instruments and accessories. We have gotten a few guitars, bass, amps, stands, straps, etc from these guys. Always willing to help, always good advice. No reason to go anyplace else. Tons of books up in the back, check it out. Buy local!
Camerons music is a great family owned business. They treat their customers with respect, and they are always friendly and helpful. Theyre extremely knowledgeable about musical instruments, I purchased both of my sons instruments from them. I highly recommend them for instruments, instrument repairs, sheet music, and supplies.
I just came from the store and the service was excellent. The technician really took care of my saxophone and even gave me a good price on a new mouthpiece and new case. I will be coming back for a new saxophone soon. Thank you so much Camerons Music, you guys are the best in Wayne County.
Walked in on a whim and Ken helped me out with a bass I was checking out for a test ride. Was so helpful and attentive to what I was looking for I ended up buying the bass and ordering a fitted hard shell case. Great store, clean, friendly staff. I recommend them and I have been to most stores in the area. Prices on guitars were GREAT. Many starter to high end band instruments. A few more exotic stringed instruments. Small place but looks like they had a great sample selection, if its not there they can help get it. When I walk into the bigger franchise music stores I am lucky if anyone even acknowledges I exist and big store prices are always on the high side., Camerons is the total opposite, very helpful, full range of price to fit your need,
So far we have had a great experience here with my son taking piano lessons. We are always greeted when we come in, everyone has been really helpful and friendly. We have not purchased any instruments or needed repairs so cannot speak to that. They have a great selection of sheet music, instruments and seem to have reasonable prices.
The people weve interacted with have been helpful and weve been able to get everything we needed thus far. Just starting out in the music world so this is helpfulWe also started music lessons here. There seems to be a good variety of instruction available from the different instruments we hear while there.
Very knowledgeable, efficient and can repair old instruments to perfection. Well worth the money spent. Worked on two saxophones that were rusty, stored in a damp basement for years and in need of repair. They came back beautiful and like new. They also gave my son a saxophone to use during repairs. Amazing customer service. Thumbs up!
I went here with my father to pick up some valve oil for my trumpet. They recently redid the main display area for instruments such as the saxophone, flute, etc. Much of their retail items appear in good shape. The appeal of this place is roomy and in a relaxed state of mind; while its not always very busy, it has a good atmosphere overall. The employees who work here are very friendly and helpful.
Recently took my 91 Gibson LP Custom to a big box store in Canton. It didnt have any buzzes and the action was great...after 28 years it was just time for a new nut. They f----d it up pretty good. Top 4 strings buzzed all up-and-down the neck. When I took it back (same day) their solution was to raise the bridge...way up there like it was a $99.00 guitar. And it STILL had buzzes. Talk about depressing :( Despite having never been there before, I took a chance on Camerons in Livonia. Rudy (the tech) listened patiently as it told him the story and my concerns. I was so happy when I got it back ... almost wept with joy. Feels like its new again. Ill never take my guitars anywhere except Camerons. THANK YOU RUDY!!!
Only people I trust to fix my French Horn!Work is always done on time and looks clean. Everyone’s friendly and fun to talk with about anything music related, so if you’re waiting for a little repair, like straightening a mouthpiece that’ll make the time fly by. Never had any problem with prices or warranties. If Joe suggests something, let him do it, he knows what he’s doing and he’ll do it well. Your instrument is always in safe hands!
When another store chose to lock the door before closing and I was told they couldnt help me because everything was shut down for the night even though there were still other customers in the store, Mr. Cameron himself helped me find everything my daughter needed to start her schools band class. I will be supporting this small business as long as any of my children choose to pursue music. Thank you so much!
One of the best music stores in the Detroit area!!! Great selection of woodwind and brasswind instruments and accessories. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff with an impressive showroom of instruments! I drive past 4 music stores to shop there! Well worth the drive!
Im a fan of mom and pop shops and tired of the big box. I have no need to return to any franchise now that Ive discovered this amazing jewel. Ken treated me like a friend and everyone has been very polite and helpful each time Ive been in since. Anyone who is lucky enough to be able to patronize this store is fortunate. Very warm atmosphere, excellent owners and staff.Bought my son the most bad a$$ blue acoustic/electric guitar and he has fallen in love with it.Camerons Music is a rare gem. Go there!
Took far too long to get repair work done here and the loaner they gave out was horrible. We sat in the store waiting on an answer about the instrument we brought in and they forgot about us, even though we were one of only two people there. We waited for 45 minutes just to hear, the person who works on these just left for the day. Such poor customer service... What a shame since theyre so close to us, well be driving further and I suggest you all do the same.
The owners are honest and good people. Last year I bought a used cello from for a great price (Ken the owner beat the big name brands prices even though they are a family owned small business). A year later, which was last week, I brought in my cello since the pegs kept slipping. They remembered me and the technician fixed it up and tuned it in 5 minutes for me, no questions asked and no charge. I look forward to doing future business with them.

2022-07-29An internet search told me a bass I was looking for was at Camerons.I stopped by and the guitars were behind velvet ropes really! I got someone to help me and she told me the bass was sold and they didnt have another one and didnt know when theyd get more. So if the bass is sold why is it on display and I cant touch it?

2022-01-19Ken had assisted me in professional and thrust-worthy manners when selling my music instrument. I wanted to sell it with a bit higher price, as it has been kept in an excellent condition, however, Ken’s opinion sounded reasonable and appropriate. Ken is a very knowledgeable and honest person, and then it is recommended to purchase/sell music instruments through Ken.

2022-01-25Firstly, their websites search feature didnt show the items I was looking for, yet they do have something similar in the store. Still, the selection in the store was limited and the three people I talked to werent very helpful. They tried to discourage me about looking elsewhere saying that the product I wanted wasnt good. Meanwhile, the product got 5 stars from all the reviews I saw online. Camerons simply wanted me to buy what they were selling and not buy elsewhere.I returned there a few weeks later. I thought Id give them another try. I want to replace a part from the guitar stand I bought there a couple of years ago and purchase some music books. The books were not in stock and they dont carry the part.I asked for the name of the company that makes the guitar stand so I could call them and try to get the part from them. A woman working at the music store, who I think is one of the owners, would not provide that information saying the company would not deal with me directly. She said shed talk to her husband, and they would contact the company for me then call me. I left my name and phone number. Its been more than six weeks since then, and no one has called. My two recent visits to this store make me feel that they dont value or respect their customers. A phone call doesnt take alot of effort, but I guess it was expecting too much.I dont plan to go there again and certainly would not send anyone there for help.
