I got a new CarPlay head unit and a remote starter for my wifes car, and we were super pleased with their value, service and installation quality. When choosing components, I felt like the focus was on meeting our needs and budget and not maxing out the final price tag. Good guys that I wouldnt hesitate to recommend if you are contemplating an upgrade for your car.
Ive been there for my wifes install and they did a good job and are knowledgeable. I myself went to get my setup and they had most everything I needed which is hard these days other then using the internet and having a heavy delicate subwoofer shipped. There was always staff at the counter when I arrived and they knew the product they were selling. Cant ask for much more when looking for car audio.
The two installs I had done today were great. However when I set up my appointment they shouldve said its at least 2-3 hrs for the tech to do each job... Im not a car sound system or remote installation guy.. however I am a master mechanic and can install an entire police lighting and siren system on a car in under 4 hrs... you would think, people that do nothing but car audio and remote start installation would be faster then they are... plus I came home and had to tie up all the loose wires...
Adam at Car Tunes/Westland is a busy man, and did a grand job with my car. I went in knowing what I wanted (the best damned sound I could, within my budget) but didnt know how to GET there. I relied on his advice, and now I have an INCREDIBLE system in my car.Glorious new sound (replaced all 6 OEM speakers, add sub, amp, and a few other things that made it all work)Wonderful performance in ALL three ranges of the spectrum, absolutely blew away my expectations. I wanted GREAT. I got it. (be prepared to wait, and understand that they are busy)
I had a problem with my remote starter ... Adam gave me some things to try over the phone and said to bring it in if I was uncomfortable doing them or if they didnt work. I popped in to see them and 15 minutes later I was back up and running. Very friendly, very helpful, and very skilled. Thanks Adam! Well be back to get the next vehicle equipped.
These guys did a number of projects for me about 2 years ago. Prol $3k total spent on installation of cameras and lights on my truck plus a massive stereo for my new boat. I walked in with the truck stuff but bought the head/speaks/kicker at the shop.Everything was installed quick and after 2 years it all works just rite. I called them yesterday for copies of my various invoices and the paperwork arrived within 10 minutes.I usually waited for my work to be done and I watched these guys interact with each other and customers for hours. (Im MBA/TQM) They run an awesome shop.
Just wanted to take the time to write a quick review, the customer service at Car Tunes in Westland MI has always exceeded my expectations! I had a remote receiver that was damaged after having a windshield replaced. I stopped in at Car Tunes to see if they were able to fix it for me. Not only did they quickly and painlessly replace the part. the repair was a $50 fix. Other places would probably have tried to sell me a new system or charge me a premium because the equipment ( an alarm with remote start) was purchased in 2008. Thanks guys for great customer service and integrity. I look forward to doing business with you guys again in the future and will recommend you to everyone.
I took my motorcycle in to upgrade my sound system and man what a difference, at first the factory stereo was locked and the sound was terrible but Nate, Mike, Jesse & Kyle went the extra mile by staying over an hour late on a Friday night contacting the factory of my bike and the factory of the speakers to find out why the sound was not were it should be. Talk about customer service these guys got it, they will take care of you regardless of what it takes. If you want a great product that will be installed right even if they have to spend there Friday night after they close to make a customer happy they will. You would think these guys worked on commission but they dont, I honestly feel they just want the customer to walk out the door happy. Thanks Guys!!
Rude customer service, doesn’t check facts or ask questions for customer provided products and claims it’s trash automatically because they can’t make money off the product. So it must be garbage right? When I personally follow a forums and groups of hundreds of people using the same unit on the same vehicle all. Have 5 star reviews on the unit I bought direct. He just sounded uninterested and inexperienced.

Came to get a quote on a full car audio install. They told me it would be $1000 for the install an gave me some misleading info on my equipment i purchased. After extensive research on my part for what i wanted to achieve, i knew the pros / cons of my limit. After asking many questions as a customer should - derrick seemed like i was asking more than he was willing to anwser an kept telling me to come back an we can talk further. I took my business elsewhere
After running into a few difficulties with a factory installed amp interfacing with my new stereo, I decided to take it to car tunes for an expert opinion. They were super friendly and knowledgeable, fit me in last minute to rewire part of the vehicle, and walked me through what I needed to do in order to finish the job at home after. Id reccomend going to them any time .
Thank you Mike and thank you for the installer at car tunes. You guys were honest and very caring people. You made the process of buying a new navigation and subs so easy and unstressful. I would recommend this place to anyone and i want to give one last thanks to Mike because of how kind and thoughtful he is.
Jesse and Mike are amazing. Great customer service. Very knowledgeable and will answer all your questions and give their recommendation. Although their prices are considered a bit steep, their work is very professional and theyll still help you out if anything goes wrong later on.
I called Mike to ask him some general information and he informed me that I could stop in and he would provide me with answers to anything I had to ask. He was able to have his staff install an Alpine radio upon me stopping in on a Friday at 4 oclock after my shift at work and the car was finished by 8 p.m. His staff were heading home for the night as I was picking up my vehicle and Mike stayed with me for at least a half an hour after closing in order to make sure that everything was working properly and that I knew how to use all the features of my new radio. Mike even helped to tune my own subwoofer box and amp in order to make sure that everything sounded as good as possible with my cheap setup that was in need of some TLC. I will be revisiting this location to install some better 6x9 speakers in my car very soon and I know that Mike and his staff will assist me with anything I require. Pricing is very competitive and installation charges are extremely reasonable as well. I recommend utilizing this location if you are intending on upgrading your car audio anytime in the future.
Just got all my new JL equipment installed in my 2012 Fusion here. Everything works perfect and sounds crazy loud and clear! Kyle the installer here worked on my car and I cannot say enough about the quality job he did! Everything was cleaned up to perfection and he had my car back to me the way it looked before I brought it in. Wiring looks like its stock wiring, so clean and neat! All the employees are very knowledgeable about the car audio industry and helped make my decision the right one! Thanks guys! Will definitely get all my cars done here and refer you on to the next.
Called twice at 4:45pm on a Wednesday. Both times, someone picked up the phone just to click hold... Without a single word. If youre busy, need me to wait, SAY SO. If they dont want my business, Ill take it elsewhere. If whomever runs this show would like to remain in business, they might want to instruct their employees in how to handle the phone w/o driving people away.
Im a first time customer. I received a remote start Groupon gift from my wife. I called Car Tunes and spoke with Mike about getting it installed. With appointments being so far out on the calendar, he suggested I bring the car in when they first open, leave it with them for the day and hell try to get it installed. I arrived first thing this morning (9am Saturday) and was the first customer through the door. I spoke with Mike again and left my car. He called me at 11:30am to tell me my car was done. Talk about fast service. The place was packed and its impressive to me that they completed the job so early. I would recommend Car Tunes in Westland, MI to anyone.
3-16-19The last thing I want to do is give a bad review to a neighborhood business but here is my story. I drive a 2003 yukon with an aftermarket radio. After EXTENSIVE STUDY on this truck i find out it has a pcm and bcm that doesnt stay at a consistent 12v when it runs its cycle. I took the whole dash apart and begged them to tie the ACC directly into the fuse box where there is no voltage fluctuation. Long story short, they didnt. Tied in right back into a spot that doesnt keep a steady 12v. For my 75 dollars i asked them if they could do what i actually wanted. They made an excuse about my automatic starter being in the way and too many wires. Lol isnt that the business you are in? The only good thing about all of this is my cluster was losing power trying to supply the radio. Moving the ACC did fix the cluster issue, like i knew it would, but the radio still goes off and on. Now im back to step 1 and 100 dollars in the hole
All they had to do was install a radio. I bought the Pioneer AVH 2800BS. I was told that the charge was $75. I dropped my truck off and at this point Im told that if I want the video to work I will need a piece that costs $35. Well, if its the only way for the video to work, I guess I have to. They told me that it will only take an hour. An hour later is when they called and told me that I will need a bracket for $25. So I went to the Rams Horn. 3 hours later, they are finally done. Ill admit that I shouldnt have left until I checked EVERYTHING, but they have taken care of me in the past. The first thing I notice is that the radio isnt mounted flush with the bezel. They told me to expect it, but they also told me that I would barely notice it. I also noticed that my subs arent working. The second thing is that when answering a phone call, people can hear me, but I cant hear them. And the last thing is that two of the LEDs in the bezel are no longer working. I call Mike and he tells makes an appointment for two days out. When I mentioned the LEDs his attitude changed and yelled at me. He accused me of lying. Tell me that there is no way because they wouldnt have touched the temperature controls (where the LEDs are located). Again, part of the bezel. I called corporate and was told that Brian was the manger on duty the day that I am to take my truck back in. He was nice enough, but I come to find out that the wiring piece that was needed, was only needed to play video while driving. Grant it, I would have most likely purchased it anyway, but Mike lied. They connected my subs, they fixed the issue with the phone calls, but did not fix the LEDs or the radio sitting flush. At that point I was done. All this for just a radio!Then that night I realize that the radio isnt dimming. They never connected that wire. I could have downloaded the wiring diagram and installed this myself better then the hacks at this place.
I just had an alarm and remote start installed into my Trailblazer. I walked in right at 9am with a line of people. I have never shopped at Car Tunes and didnt know they were so busy. Yikes. I was told that they had a full book of appointments for the day but if I could leave my vehicle with them they would make sure it would get done that day. To my suprise I got a phone call a few hours later telling me that my truck was done. I love this remote start! After I started my car this morning and got into a warm truck, I cannot say thanks enough. Without question would shop here again and will be recommending to all my friends.
I could not be any happier with the stereo system I purchased and the installation job done by Car Tunes in Westland! I cant believe how good car audio can sound! I look for reasons to go for a drive now and anyone with a long commute would be a fool not to go see what these guys can do for you!

Theyre well known for doing a good job on hooking up your system, but theyre also a bit pricey. I wouldnt not recommend this place, but when it comes to being more cost effective, Mickey Shore would be my choice. Although, both places are great and reliable, Car-Tunes doesnt seem to work with you as well on prices. If you got the extra money to spend, then Car-Tunes is a good choice, but if youre on a budget, then go to Mickey Shore
Customer focused.Took my car in to get the radio fixed and was having some problems with the electrical after Cat Tunes fixed the radio. Nate (general manager) made sure that the electrical problems were solved and funded the service and parts on their dime.Car Tunes is a customer-focused organization and is dedicated to provide the customer results that meet their expectations.
Do not buy a car remote with a sexy stick remote, they are built to break and even though they come with a lifetime warranty they wont honor it if it had internal damage.so far I have had 3 break on me in 2 years @ $25 $35 each remote. I GUESS THEY ONLY WAY TO NOT HAVE THEM BREAK IS TO NOT USE THEM
I can relate to this guy who complained about damage and poor workmanship on his new Harley F150, these guys got me too on my 2011 Dodge Ram man, scratched interior peices, missing screws, rattles that were never there, 2 bare wires, ripped carpet, even a ding on the passenger side bed from another car door hitting it, and all from just a headunit and 2 door speakers being installed. I think I had the privledge of dealing with this wannabe manager that came from Mickey Shorr on Telegraph Rd. in Taylor also, (if its the same guy he is kinda short and has buck teeth) I sat in that little waiting room for almost 5 hours and listened to everything from comedic insults being whispered and laughing between 3 of the employees including the (so called) manager making jokes about 1 inpeticular female customer that had to repeatedly use the rest room, and a couple racial comments about an african american couple and their 2 kids,I can imagine what they said about me after I left, to the guy with the Harley F150 that wrote his reveiw and complained (ozzy) I will send you a link to reach me direct and if I can help you with your lawsuit in anyway I will be more then glad too. Good luck brotha and make em pay for that damage, I pass the word around to everybody at the car shows and everywhere I go about this place, everybody that has had problems with this place should get together through the courts and stop it from happening, in the almost 5 hours I was there I met 3 customers that were there because they had repair issues with them (all nice people that said they would never come back) all these negative comments from Eminem about this place are true big time! Terrible service. The manager Mike is a know it all, smug and is very rude. I wouldn’t recommend coming here. Problems with my sounds for almost a year, whats the point of a warranty if you have to keep coming back and getting treated like you did something wrong. You guys are horrible.
Never have your windows tinted by these so-called MASTER TINTERS.... Had to bring my car back about 4 months later with nothing but bubles and dots on every window they tinted and i go to pick up my car today and theres still bubles and dots on my car !!! i go and show the MASTER TINTER and oh its gotta dry blah blah blah!!!!!! and thats exactley what they said last time i was there and it got worst ....And just to let you know they said they remove the old tint and put the new tint on in 2hr and 20mins...so when iam telling them iam totally unhappy with this, the MASTER TINTER was laughing at me while the MANAGER was standing right there... so just to let everyone know that the tint on my 2014 SHELBY COBRA GT500 looks like CRAB and i would like them to refund my money and REMOVE THIS CRAB FROM MY CAR !!!!!!!

2022-03-13If youre unfamiliar with the area, this particular location is situated across from what is now left of the once very popular and very busy Westland mall. This location sits on a corner, and is equipped with a very small (and sometimes hard to navigate) parking lot. It can become quite congested while trying to get in and out of here during busy times.To me, customer service (especially in the automotive industry) is very important. As a company, youre asking your customers to put their trust and their money into your expertise. This is even more important when you specialize in aftermarket items that people add to their vehicles, because not only are they usually expensive, but the average person has no idea how to install or deal with these items which often creates the need to explain and thoroughly show someone how something works.Customizing your vehicle with electronics, etc., used to be kind of a niche type thing, but now as technology has gotten better, easier to deal with, and prices have come down, having items added to your vehicle after the fact has become even more popular.My girlfriend had a remote start installed here, so I have dealt with these guys on a couple of occasions now. I would like to start off first by saying that the couple people that we have dealt with at this location are completely lacking in the ability to nicely and efficiently serve their customers (in a professional manner). Theyve been rude not only on the phone, but also in person, and for really no reason other than being annoyed that they couldnt explain why something wasnt working properly over the phone, so we ended up having to come in and have them look at the remote start that they recently installed. It turns out that they just never explained how to get the remote start to work properly all of the time.Different vehicles require different things, and we were never briefed on the specifics of the remote start as it pertained to our particular vehicle. This is something that could have easily been handled over the phone but because the guys here have such an attitude, we ended up having to stop in (only to receive more attitude) and to finally be showed exactly what we needed to do for our particular system to function properly.All in all, if you are the least bit handy when it comes to cars, I would recommend maybe digging into learning how to do whatever it is youd be having these guys do, and then doing it yourself. That way you can avoid having to deal with this place. If not, just prepare to deal with very poor customer service, and a couple guys who act extremely inconvenienced by you.

2022-01-22The system they put in my car is awkward. Every time I unlock my door it honks twice. My car also has two different horns now. My truck doesn’t open with the button. Very unsatisfied. The guy working was awkward and rude. Very aggressive and barking like. I don’t see how they have more than one star unless they are giving only certain people decent service. Which was a ugly vibe I got too.

2019-05-10The Sales Manager was extremely professional and very well knowledgeable of literally anything and everything in his shop!! I was extremely impressed!! The Service Techs onboard are hands down the best of the best!! These guys really know their stuff and are definitely technical experts in what they do. 2021-12-10This location is the only location I spend money with, mainly because they do great work in a short time frame. Master skilled employees. Laid back yet super professional. Prices are reasonable, products worth paying for and everything is guaranteed with a lifetime warranty. Boom!

2021-10-27Adam is the best! He helped me choose the right amp and speaker for what I like. I plan on getting a dash cam soon and more add-ons for my truck at this location. The service at this site is amazing and I dont plan on doing business anywhere else when it comes my truck accessories.
