Comment: ALWAYS A GREAT TIME HERE. Makes birthdays and gatherings that much easier. Each slot has chairs, 2 tables, trash bin, grill, non motorized rentals, motorized rentals, canopy.. life vests, gift shop. Different spots available on the deck, infront of the water, private little houses. Great Staff, very friendly and helpful. Everytime we come here our family and friends have a blast. Great memories for our kids and friends. Definitely recommend.

Comment: Drove past this area while working Doordash which happened to be my last job. Circled back to check it out and was pleasantly surprised by the plateau like parking spaces that overlook the lagoon where people jetski. Much better than checking it out while going 75 on the 5 North, lol. Just relaxing in my car and taking dog out to see was great! And A+ for breeze (except if you have terrible allergies like me in which case my eyes and nose are on fire) 😅❣️

Comment: The place is beautiful. There are a lot of procedures and no adherence to the time. I have ten minutes remaining. I was not given the time. Whoever comes here must photograph the time, knowing that the time has been proven to them and they did not give me the remaining 10 minutes.

Comment: The lagoon is good flatwater kayaking. Once you paddle away from the noisy highway, there are herons, egrets and lots of jumping mullet. The young lady behind the counter is gracious and helpful. She gave us good advice where to paddle. The young man who handles the gear was surly, seemingly annoyed that there were customers in the shop. He brought us wet, sandy kayaks, plopped them by the shoreline, and pushed us into the lagoon with barely a word.

Comment: Water sports rental facility was well staffed with knowledgeable and friendly employees. For someone not experienced with driving boats, the rental orientation made me feel safe and prepared for my excursion on the lagoon. Our two hour session on the Runabout was fantastic and made for the perfect family picnic on the lagoon. Restrooms were clean and there was plenty of parking on our arrival. Gift shop had plenty of sunscreen, hats, snacks, and products for waterproofing phones and things like cash and cards. Overall we had an enjoyable experience and would definitely come back on our next trip to Carlsbad.

Comment: My husband and I have been coming here for 3 years and have been launching an inflatable raft with an electric trolling motor. We were happy to pay $20 to do so and be out on the lagoon for hours. Today was the first day the owner (Josh)said we cannot use the motor on the water. The motor we have goes 5mph top speed and is electric, so no gas. We left and will never return. This is the biggest disappointment as we have been spending every year on the lagoon for 3 years, spending tons of money on the launch fees as we would go every other weekend. It’s a shame but they lost our business. You can see from the pictures that it used to be a blast going here but sadly that chapter is closed. Catch us in mission bay!

Comment: Greta place for water sports! Staff is very friendly. For beginners I highly recommend this place to get used to paddle boarding and kayaking!

Comment: This is a small place with limited activities to aquatics only. Cheap rentals of kayak and paddle board and swan boat. The restrooms were dirty but they have outside shower.

Comment: Prepaid reservation, used a Groupon. Parked right by kayaks, and were in a tandem within 5 mins of arrival. We should have spent time adjusting straps on back support before we left; lesson learned for next time. Used our whole 2 hours; went to the east end of the lagoon, had to hustle to get back, paddling against the breeze. Saw egrets, other shore birds up close, and crabs, lots of fish jumping.

Comment: Very nice experience. They didnt expect a hoard of clients on a gloomy, rainy, and cloudy day but there was one guy who was running around to help as fast as he can. He upgraded us bc some of the boats were down. My son had a blast!

Comment: When I came to this lakeside scenic spot, I found that there was not much scenery to see, but there were many water facilities that could be rented and played! In this way, a very temporary group of people started their first experience of sailing! We rented a 6-person boat from Runabout for $210 per hour. We thought we could only drive it slowly. We all had a little experience driving the boat. Unexpectedly, we could reach 45mph at the fastest speed. At the beginning, there would be a handsome instructor driving while driving. For teaching, I first go out and circle around and come back to hand over the baton before officially starting to count the time. Pay attention to the area marked out next to it for people rowing boats. The other large areas can be circled by boats. It is really super enjoyable. !

Comment: First place I brought my folding sea kayak, when I shipped it from home in New York City to my father in laws place in Carlsbad. It was okay, not exactly scenic, but protected waters. I recall having my new sail rig with me but the folks not letting me test it out. Back then they really wanted most folks to use their stuff, including jet skis (which dont necessarily mix well w/sailing kayaks). This was back in 2006, so ancient history.

Comment: We come here every time we visit to rent the kayaks and paddle boards. Staff is always helpful and pleasant. We even got to see their camps in action, the kids seemed to be having the time of their lives! Keep up the great work and we will be back again next year, thanks for a great time!!!
