Comment: My daughter got into a fender bender (no one hurt), but her cars front end was damaged quite a bit (2013 model). Called Carstar Auto World and they sent a flatbed tow truck to pick up our car (as the hood would not latch down properly and thus would have rattled at higher speeds) and worked with the estimator, Chris. He helped me through the process of getting the estimate and dealing with the insurance portion. Once I got the estimate back for the repair, it took less than a week and a half to get our car. It looked brand spanking new! Chris explained to me the work done and the insurance experience was painless (other than the fact that our premium will likely be going up!). Thanks to the team at Carstar Auto World for their fast and accurate repair and delivering on the timetable promised!

Comment: If I could give CARSTAR Auto World Collision 10 stars I would!! They were AMAZING and certainly exceeded my expectations. I brought my car in because my tesla windows got smashed and the side mirror was broken. They fixed it both and even retinted the window for me! There was an issue where the tinters scratched the frame and CARSTAR was able to catch that before giving me my car and resent it to get it fixed. Katie and Rena seriously kept my mind sane in this whole process by keeping me up to date with the status of my car. When I picked up my car they told me that they detailed it, washed, and ceramic coated my vehicle. I would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you so much CARSTAR!!

Comment: VERY DISHONEST SHOP.I went in with problems that I didnt come to the shop with. They broke my antenna (could have been a passing homeless person or customer at the shop...either way it was broken) They refused to fix it and the guy Chris refused to give me photos (he said it was easy and would and only sent random photos with no time stamp) of my car in the right condition. He said no we didnt break it and I am to accept that.I have photos of my car in good condition when I dropped it at the shop and broken when I picked it up with time stamps....but since they said it wasnt them they are winning the case? ?They also didnt fix what they were supposed to and I had to go back and waste days of my time going back and forth due to their negligence.The front desk lady is nice, but Chris will talk down to you like you know nothing about cars (I am a mechanical engineer and can fix cars so it was funny to see him explain basic things haha)

Comment: If you need auto body services, dont hesitate using CARSTAR in San Bruno. Its my second time needing repairs and this time was just as effortless and as easy as the first. The communication is superb, you always know what the status of your repairs are. The employees are competent and professional from Reyna running the checkin and appointments and paperwork to Chris who takes extra pride in ensuring your happiness and making sure the repairs are completed beyond your expectations. It feels like Im shopping at Nordstroms or something, just great customer service. 5 stars again!Providing an update, a year later, someone hit my car again so I was back at Carstar and ecstatic to find Reyna and Chris still working there and still providing the most excellent customer service you could expect from an autobody shop (or actually from any business!). I compared it to shopping at Nordstroms last year but its even easier, like maybe having a personal shopper bring you clothes or something great like that. Comment: Hello Everyone,I have never really given any feedback review before but i thought this company deserves one.My son own a 2017 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 last year July 2023 it was involved in a minor incident were our car was parked & someone backed into damaging the rear bumper.Geico our insurance company advised us to bring our vehicle to a bodyshop & they recommended the bodyshop here in South San Francisco CARSTAR AUTO WORLD.So we brought our car & left it there for a week. They repair/replace the rear bumper. After a day driving the car a dash indicator light came-on stating that rear bumper camera is out of calibration.We brought the car back to point out the dash indicator for rear camera that’s out of aligned / out of specs. They said that light was on when they got the car prior to them working on it. We told them that wasn’t so. They argued with us that has had nothing to do with their work, when it was clear that they removed the bumper camera in order for them to replace the bumper.Nine months later today (04-09-2024) we were inspecting the tire pressure of the car when we noticed that the spare tire was missing from the under the cover inside of the trunk.After thinking about no one has worked on this car with the exception from the bodyshop at CARSTAR AUTO WORLD which was (9) months ago.We rushed to bodyshop & explained to them situation of our spare tire being missing. The front desk personnel stated why did we just come back for it after almost a year? We told them are we supposed to check to make sure your shop put everything back in the car? Are we supposed to check under the car to make sure you shop put all the nuts/bolts back in the car?This bodyshop had the audacity to make us look as if we were lying to them about the missing spare tire in the trunk.They told us that they will look for it & will call us back when if they find it.After a day they called & said they found our spare tire. When we picked it up the spare tire was the correct one, but completely scratched up as if it had been used.We never received any kind of apologies from this bodyshop CARSTAR AUTO WORLD for their poor service & mistakes.I made a formal complaint at the front desk & they said that the manager will call me, but never did.I would NOT recommend this bodyshop CARSTAR AUTO WORLD at South San Francisco for their poor service, bad attitude & multiple mistakes.

Busted the back window out and tried to hot wire the car but couldnt because its a Dodge that had SWAT and other systems in place.In any case, we had to deal with insurance, were only in the San Francisco area for vacation so everything is time sensitive for us, and we had to find someone in our area that takes AAA.CARSTAR has been amazing from the start!!! Comment: BEWARE! DON’T TRUST THIS BUSINESS! Horrible Customer Service! I called the week of Dec. 4th, 2023 & spoke to Lupe Veliz; informed her that I have an estimate from Progressive for repairs & VW Serramonte sent me to them; CARSTAR Auto World Collision. I made an estimate appt w/ her for Friday, Dec. 8th, 2023. When I got there, another lady told me I didn’t need another estimate since I already had one. Then, she tells me to come back on Monday, Dec. 11th b/c the owner, JASON WONG, said he will personally took at the damages, update the estimate & order parts. I returned for the 2nd “estimate appt.” on Monday, Dec. 11th. Lupe Veliz stated she will order the parts & email me the updated estimate and ETA for pairs. NEVER RECEIVED ANY EMAILS from Lupe with updated estimate. Lupe tells me on that same visit, pairs will arrive by Tuesday, Dec. 19th, which is when Lupe said to bring back the car for repairs. Two weeks past and still no update from CarStar or Lupe. I called Lupe on Jan. 2nd, 2024 and asked for an update and also requested to speak to a Manager. I spoke with the Finance/HR Manager who heard my complaint about Lupe’s lack of communication and for not ordering the pairs. The gentleman assured me that he will monitor the pairs ETA and will personally call me on Monday, Jan. 8th with an update. He landed up calling on Tuesday, Jan. 9th and left me a VM saying they’re still waiting on the pairs and he’ll call me back again on Friday, Jan. 12th with an update. Today, Tuesday, Jan. 16th, 2024 at 3pm, a lady name KATIE, called on behalf of the owner, Jacob Wong, saying they are denying our repair order due to me expressing complaints about Lupe Veliz. WHAT!?! Almost 6 weeks of waiting for parts and repairs, with NO TO VERY LITTLE COMMUNICATION, they’re now DENYING MY CLAIM FOR REPAIRS!?! Wow!! Just wow!! So apparently if you complaint about the service or lack of communication from LUPE VELIZ, you will be DENIED YOUR REPAIRS.

Comment: EDIT:I previously had my review at 1 star due to an unpleasant interaction with their front office. Since then, I have received my car back and the quality of work was great. There was an issue with original part from the manufacturer. And carstar went above and beyond and reached out to the dealership to try to fix the situation. Lupe has been a joy to work with.Lupe, who oversaw my vehicle repair, was very professional and a pleasure to work with. She kept in constant communication throughout the unfortunate backorder with my rear quarter panel glass. For her, I would have left a 5 star review.However, the reason I am leaving a 1star review is because of the very unprofessional interaction with one of the front desk ladies. There was miscommunication on my part and I was not able to pick up my vehicle on the previously stated date because I was out of town. But, I was able to pick up the vehicle the next day when they opened at 8am. Apparently, 24 hours was going to kill them. I was threatened to be charged $270 a night storage fee. The vehicle is still waiting on a new quarter panel glass and I felt uncomfortable taking the vehicle back and paying my deductible when the car is unfinished (typically the deductible is paid when the TOTAL work is completed). In this case, the car is not completed. She started yelling on the phone at me and then proceeded to hang up.First and foremost, forcing a customer to pay and take back their vehicle before all work is done is highly unprofessional. I havent even had a chance to look over the repair job they have done so far, why would I feel comfortable paying and taking the vehicle back? Yelling at the customer over a storage issue that began with the shop accepting my vehicle in without all the parts shouldnt fall on the customer. If you as a customer service personnel yells at a customer, you shouldnt get mad when a customer chooses to match your energy. If you dish it, you should be able to take it. She is obviously a bully.I havent seen the repair work done on my car so I cannot comment on that yet.

Comment: Once the repairs started on my Kia Car Star kept me updated with everything as things were being repaired. It was the beginning of the repair process between Car Star and my insurance company that was frustrating. I was lied to in the beginning by a Car Star representative regarding my car damages that she claimed to have discussed with my claims andjuster and I was told different things regarding the claims and repair process. Eventually Katie took over the repairs for my car, however I was confused as to why they took my Kia back from the car dealership knowing that my radio hadn’t been fixed but that’s an issue I will handle through my car warranty. Overall I feel that the front desk associates and the associates that are assigned to a vehicle and its repair process really need to slow down. It seemed as though each representative I spoke to had a “this is my shop” type of attitude or either they just spoke really fast rushing through details which led to frustration on my end in the beginning. I also noticed when I picked my car up that my car had been driven over 100 miles?? This was based on the mileage when I dropped off and picked the car up. I don’t know what would require my car to be driven that many miles for a door handle being repaired but I do no appreciate my car being returned to me almost on E. My car’s side mirror was also damaged and that’s not how I brought my car to them. I won’t use this shop in the future and won’t recommend it to others, because that level of unprofessionalism when dealing with other people’s property is crazy.

Comment: The front desk staff are so welcoming and upfront with their estimates. I had a quarter panel in the rear that was crushed when I backed into a pillar. I knew it was going to be pricey since it was a Tesla model 3. The owner himself assessed the damage and claim they can fix it and their price was very comparable to my other estimates. He said they can fix it in a week and 5 business days later I picked up the car. I was extremely impressed that it looked like it never happened before! The paint job, and no signs of any lines of the repair was flawless. You know it’s a good sign when a body shop is busy and they deliver what they say. Whatever best describes the highest level of service for you is how I would describe my experience. Let’s be honest. It’s never a good day when you are taking (or towing) your car to a body shop! However, if ever you do need to avail yourself of auto body repair experts, there is no more painless, efficient or competent option than Auto World Collision (AWC). First, while other competitors were quoting amorphous and open ended ETAs to get the work done (months!), AWC was very direct and had much shorter wait times (a few weeks) for the work. They got parts far quicker than competitors. They got the car back to me on time and in impeccable condition. I recommend AWC wholeheartedly!

I called State Farm to make them aware of the situation and the next day JASON WONG had the POLICE call my phone due to him feeling unsafe. No one wants to be interrogated by the police, no one. So sad when business owners hear you over the phone and think because you are a female you wont know what it is done correctly. Also, sad that he brought law enforcement to the situation. The front desk lady Reina was clueless even though she was the one who scheduled me the appointment to bring my car in for an estimate. However, the lady Suzy, that was supposed to give the estimate is out to lunch! What?! I had to wait 15 minutes before she walks in unapologetically. At that point, about 5 weeks has passed and all I want to know is an ETA of when the parts will be on. The next day, my insurance called me and I told her the situation. She called Carstar and was told the parts just arrived! Wow! I made an appointment to drop off my car on a Tuesday and was told by Katy that it should be ready by Friday the same week. I also pointed out some other parts of my car in which I would like to fix. She said sure to it. Not! Anyways, a few hours later Tuesday, I got an email saying my car will be ready by the following Monday and not Friday! Ok fine. When I went to pick up my car on Monday, the “other” parts I had asked to be fixed wasn’t fixed! He plainly explained what he was going to do with a touchup marker before rendering the service. They provided me with an accurate estimate and worked with my insurer (Geico) to ensure that the cost was exactly what I paid on the way out the door (including Geicos portion). Comment: I have nothing but good things to say about this place and the people who run it.My car was involved in two minor accidents, both my front and back bumper plus safety bars needed to be replaced. I dropped my car off on a Monday and was ready on Friday morning. I was greeted by Loretta, and she did a lovely job explaining the whole process to me. My drop off appointment was super quick and efficient, and I did not have to wait long for my rental vehicle to be delivered. Susie called me within the hour to go over an estimate. Everything was explained very well, and I approved.Friday pick up, my car looked brand new as if it just left the dealership lot. My car was waxed and all my previous scratches were buffed out. I cannot be more happy! I want to thank Loretta for working very diligently with me. She made this whole process a breeze. I will bringing my car back in the future for some rim fixings :)

The finished product looks absolutely amazing! We are very pleased with their work and the way they do business. If we are ever in need of anymore work we will definitely be going back.

Comment: I had a great experience at Auto World. They fixed some damage on my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek and billed it to my insurance. From the get-go they were super friendly and patient, and they accommodated my need for a fast turnaround since I had a trip coming up. Im very happy with the work and the overall experience. Hopefully I never have to come here again, but if I do need body work in the future this is where I would go.
