Comment: After a year of getting my car fixed here, I decided to share my experience. I had to return my vehicle twice or more, since they stated my car was fixed. I took my car to a mechanic in which they stated that this shop did nothing but try to conceal the axel damage, etc. The shop charged my insurance a lot which made no sense, obviously for an insurance scam. My car was making noises from the damage, in addition to this- paint started peeling and shows a completely different color underneath(red). I would not recommend this shop.Update: I also took my car to an auto shop, in which they said this shop placed didn’t place my hood correctly. I wasn’t aware but when they mentioned it, it was very noticeable.

Comment: Worst shop experience multiple issues no communication from the beginning. Missed things that i noted when i had walk around with shop. After missing to inspect car properly it became late delivery of vehicle. When i received vehicle the paint was terrible and damaged from reassembly worst paint Ive ever seen. So i brought back for a second attempt for them to make it right when they told me to pick up my car wasnt ready and paint was bad again in multiple spots so i had to pick up next day. Now my car is in a different shop to correct there terrible paint and possible more damage to my car. This shop is not good for a quality repair everything is bad.

Comment: Our vehicle was broken into and Car Star was our go to car repair shop; however it has changes ownership and the quality of service is not there. CarStar is out sourcing their repairs instead of doing it themselves. This causes fingers pointed when the job is not done properly. Our window was replaced but it did not work properly when we went to pick up the vehicle and the trim was missing. The parts were ordered and we are still waiting for them to complete the job. The parts have not come in and the job is still not done. It has been over a month and a half! The car alarm and pairing was also done out of the shop and they did not pair my 2 remotes they just did one! Why is the job not done completely? Car star should double check the work they are paying others to do as they are dealing and showing face to the customer. We paid our deductible $500 to them and the insurance paid them approximately $5,000; however, we still have not gotten our repairs completed after the car was picked up and those were pointed out to the shop. We are getting the run around as they stated the parts were ordered but have not come in. There is no accountability and pride for the job they are doing for the customer. Our vehicle was broken into and honestly we feel re-victimized by the lack of quality and customer service Car Star provided. To say the least we will not be taking our cars there anymore.

I cleared some time to pick up, then they called saying it was delayed. I was called the next day saying it was ready. I told them I no longer had the time for that day and they proceeded to tell me that they had to call the rental car agency saying that I refused to pick up that day and to start charging me the normal rate.i called them back saying I could pick it up during my lunch break. After returning the rental car I arrived and my car was missing pieces and blocked in the parking lot. The techs said that the piece was not there when I dropped it off and they did not want to install it. I showed them pictures of it on the car and they grabbed the old piece from the trash and tried to give it back. I would avoid this place if you really care about your vehicle and only use this place if you dont mind mediocre work.

Comment: I’ve used this repair shop twice at the recommendation of AAA and the first time around, I was relatively pleased with their service. Despite the fact that, when the car was returned to me, the passenger side fog light was out. When I mentioned this to the front office staff, I was told that “it must just be the bulb,” even though this was the side that was completely damaged in the accident..so they should have replaced it prior to returning the car to me. I let it go because I was generally pleased with their customer service. I’ve even referred many coworkers and friends to this shop because of how much I liked the service.The second time I brought my vehicle to their shop, I was excited to bring it to the same person who I contacted the first time around. However, when I went to pick the car up this second time, the car would not start. They had to jump start the car. I was told that “it must be because it was sitting for a week and it’s usually driven every day.” I, again, let it go and drove around for an hour. For the entire week after, I’ve had to jump start the car if the engine was turned off for even 20 minutes! They now claimed that must be a result of damage to the battery from the collision because there isn’t a mechanic there who works under the hood, they only do body work.So I requested the diagnostic scans from when the car arrived in the shop and when they finished their repairs. The pre-scan had ZERO error codes, which wouldn’t be the case if there was something mechanically wrong when I brought it in…especially since I’d been driving the car for a week before I brought it in. When the diagnostic scan was ran at the conclusion of the repairs, there were at least 10 error codes - 99% of which were related to my battery! They still claimed it was a result of the collision…and if I wanted to buy a new battery and have them install it she’d provide me with a quote. I had to contact my claims adjuster in order to get them to change my battery.I took it to the shop to have them change the battery and they changed it right at the shop…even though they “don’t have any mechanics who do work underneath the hood!” Also, conveniently when I arrived to the shop, I was told that there was a diagnostic scan that they ran after they “cleared the codes” a few minutes later and all of a sudden there’s only one error code which is exactly what happens when the battery gets disconnected and reconnected or the codes are manually cleared…Not to mention neither one of my door panels were reassembled properly on the inside and the driver window switch is now scratched up and bent where they tried to remove it in order to remove the door panel.May 06 Update: Calling them so they can make this right doesnt actually work. It just had me going back and forth with the exact same office personnel I was going back and forth before...

We got the wrong part as a replacement and took a few days to figure out why it wasnt working properly. Carstar Hayward Collision was the body shop recommended by my insurance carrier (AAA) to perform the necessary repairs. Dropped my vehicle off on a Monday morning, and the repairs were completed by Wednesday of the same week. Im extremely happy with the repairs performed by Carstar Hayward Collision, and you cant even see where the damage was. Excellent color match of the body paint was performed. Comment: My insurance AAA sent me here because is their prefer vendor . They broke my back window they were really nice but it took them over a week to repair. Once the raining season came my truck was getting all wet is ruined . I made several attempts to fix it with the directly buy until today my truck keeps getting wet.
