Comment: So my partner and I needed a sewing machine. We had used them before but we didn’t know a whole lot about them. We were originally just going to go to Joannes and pick one out but my partner suggested we go here and make it a fun mini date since neither of us had ever been. Oh my gosh I am so glad we did!!! They had like all the sewing machines ever out on display, a bunch of beautiful quilts, fabrics and patterns… Stuff for cosplay, beautiful embroidery floss. I mean they really have it all, and the prices are very reasonable too (I am a broke college student and I will choose to come back here over a big box store). The women at the front desk were able to walk us through all the different machines and find us exactly what we needed, right around our budget too! Not only were they friendly, professional, and extremely helpful, but they even gifted us a few things when we purchased our Janome sewing machine. 10/10 I highly recommend and will definitely be coming back here for my sewing needs in the future!

Comment: I took my vacuum in to be cleaned. It works fine. Just collected a lot of dust and dirt Over the last few years. Received it back with dust and dirt on the outside. The inside seems to be clean...however, didnt understand how they felt it was okay to not wipe the outside of the vacuum down too. I went ahead and wiped it down.

Comment: I had a brother sewing I bought in Reno for my granddaughter in Chico and it would not sew. While visiting, I took to Cathy’s sew/vac and the sweetest gal, Tori, looked at it and detected the problems immediately ( threaded wrong and bobbin placed wrong) and remedied it on the spot for no charge ! Great customer service, Tori! Way to go!!!

Comment: We have had a really good experience at Kathys Sew and Vac. I was having tons of trouble with one of my sewing machines . They kept trying to solve the problem. And they did!!! Now it runs good and I now have my second machine in for repairs. This one is about 30 years old; so it is a real challenge to get the parts it needs. But they are such a good crew ; I know that they will get it fixed. Diffidently A FIVE STAR SHOP.

Comment: I will NOT be returning to Cathys Sew and Vac until COVID19 risks have subsided. I called ahead to ask what their mask and sanitation protocols were, and they provided a detailed and satisfactory answer. However, when I visited the store in person, I was very disappointed and felt unsafe. Though most employees were wearing masks, many did not have their noses OR mouths covered by the masks and one even went so far as to only have a 2x2 in. fabric square hung from her glasses in front of her mouth - NOT effective ways to contain germs. It was truly disappointing to see such a wonderful store being SO irresponsible and inconsiderate of people who are at-risk.

You can get everything from your green cleaning products, Bar B Ques and accessories, vacuums, mops, sewing machines, sergers, embroidery machines, long arm quilter, and of coarse fabric! They have thousands of bolts of fabric!!! The class room is roomy and they offer a variety of classes from quilting, serger and machine embroidery. The fact that they are now a Certified Kimberbell Shop is an added bonus. The staff is friendly and accomodating. I highly recommend this shop.

I didn’t know my machine or how to maintain it. I didn’t know anything. Cathy and the Family here have changed all that. They are trustworthy and generous with their time, equipment and expertise. Comment: Im not at all into sewing or quilting,but they do seem to have a lot of sewing speciality stuff which was somewhat interesting. Lots of old sewing machines which mechanically are interesting. After exhausting everything I could see around the shop they also had a lounge area with a couch and magazines to wait at until my wife was done looking for material. They also have grills and smokers for sale too, as well as vacuums.

Comment: What I love about this place is the excellent SERVICE and variety of QUALITY products they carry. Honey Run Quilters is a diamond to find. Great staff and lots of fabric (wonderful Quilters, completed quilts & fun machines). Also, they carry GREEN MOUNTAIN GRILLS... great BBQs with a large variety of pellets to go with it. Comment: Spend way too much time here! They have sewing & quilting groups that meet here that are open to join anytime! In addition to several classes... I mostly am in a group when there or spending money on beautiful fabrics... I have also bought 2 sewing machines & a cabinet there & handy quilter... They service my machines promptly and do a great job on them. Yup I am a regular customer so thats why I spend too much time there... Enjoying every minute of my time with all the staff & my friends in the groups.

Comment: I absolutely love Cathys Sew and Vac. Living at Lake Almanor, we always have to go off the mountain for services. We buy all our vacuums there and they are always fair with the price. Their service department cant be beat! They are honest when the machines have reached the repair vs replace price point.

Comment: Sadly, Ive been in this store numerous times in the last year and never once have I even been greeted. Today, there were seven bodies in the store. I couldnt tell who was a customer and who was staff. I walked around the sewing machines, stopping and looking at each and every one and their data tag if there was one. No one came to ask me if I needed help. I walked around the complete fabric and thread departments. Again, no acknowledgement that I was even in the store. Sad for a relatively small town and a business that should be treating their customers very well. I was shopping for a machine and would have walked out with one if Id been treated decently, or even noticed. I will not be returning to this store.

Comment: Bring your machine elsewhere. Dont go here! Way overpriced for the service they provide. Brought my 6 needle machine to be serviced here and paid 450$ only to find out they didn’t service it very well. My machine was very dirty after the service and my machine trim function suddenly stops working. Friendly advice dont bring your embroidery machine here.
