We were on a cross-country trip over Memorial Day weekend when we had a fuel pump issue first thing on Saturday morning. Every shop in town was closed, but Butch answered the phone and agreed to meet us at his shop anyway. After running diagnostics we had to order a new fuel pump. None of the auto supply stores had one in stock; it would take 4 hours to get one. Butch agreed to wait. A few hours later Butch called an informed us the part was delivered but it was the wrong part. Despite having plans of his own, he agreed to wait until the next delivery time (5:00 p.m.) to get the part and get us back on the road. Very understanding and generous guy! I would recommend him to anyone!

Great place! We were traveling from Petoskey back to Tennessee when the check engine light came on. Had an AutoZone in Clare, MI check it out for us and the alternator was going bad. Bought an alternator there just in case and hoped we could make it home without stopping again. No such luck so we found Cavanaugh Auto Repair through a Google maps search. We were told they could help us out. The gentleman stopped what he was doing when we arrived and got to work on our van right away. Excellent, friendly customer service! Highly recommend this shop, thanks for getting us back on the road so quickly 😁

Butch is a the owner and a the guy to go to with any auto repair needs of any kind. He is a honest man with a kind heart. He lives in the community and is a family man. Runs a great honest business makes timely repairs and you can always count on his honesty!

There are many dishonest mechanics in the United States and this place is no exception.One look at his establishment will be self-explanatory. I brought my pickup truck in for a diagnosis which I got but it was the wrong diagnosis then I was given an estimate for nearly double the average cost of the repair. when I replaced the part they told me was bad the vehicles condition did not change I proceeded to call and explain myself and the predicament and the mechanic basically called me a liar.If you feel like being ripped off and having your vehicle misdiagnosed and then being possibly overcharged to this is the place for you.
