Wonderful venue for an entertaining time out! Especially nice are the recliner chairs to make watching a movie far more comfortable. Even better is the seats are reserved, so no issue with losing your seat.Of course, the popcorn, drinks and other snacks are part of the experience - and while it costs more, just go with it.The are video games and other things to keep you busy, plus, there is also a full-bar for those who wish to imbibe.Something for everyone and a lot of fun!
Love going here! Covid of course has us only going once in a great while now but the theater is always clean, get food brought to you with your ticket purchases online and lots of food and snacks to choose from. Seats are comfy even during avengers the entire movie legs didnt go numb 😄 all in all I give it a 9, young kids working there could use some professional customer service training for sure
Very clean, organized cinema. Prices are as expected for a movie theater. Alcoholic beverages available which is always a plus! Purchased my tickets online but no one checked my tickets. Not at concession or entering the designated theater. If it werent for integrity, I couldve just snuck (walked) right in. Great staff. Great accommodations. Great Place.
Starting to have an issue with the regular old-style seating arrangement. I understand, it is a business decision, but if I, the customer, can choose between a comfy recliner and a regular chair, I am afraid I am going to decide for comfort. After all, the movies are the same wherever.
Went last night to watch the Eternals and it was a great experience. Food was hot and delivered right to my seat, delicious! The staff was friendly and the place was very clean, even though there was hundreds of people in the building. The only complaint, it was cold in the theater...
Don’t waste your money! This place was absolutely disgusting. Popcorn covered the floor throughout the theater and popcorn was also everywhere behind the counters and even in their cabinets. Bathrooms were filthier than the dirtiest bar bathrooms. Toilets were covered in different body fluids and backed up. Sinks were gross and out of soap. I don’t think those kids working have cleaned in weeks. Drink counters were sticky and covered in spilled pop and popcorn and other people had no sense of personal space. Seats are uncomfortable and no room to walk down the aisle squeezing in front of peoples legs. When people lean back in front of you their chair hits your knees. For this same price I’ve been to nicer upgraded theaters with reclining chairs that are way cleaner and more “modern”. I’m never going to these theaters again such a waste of money and I felt so disgusting being in there. Absolutely horrible I’d rather drive 2 hours to the east side of the state and go to emagine lol tickets at this establishment should be like $5. Ridiculous
Theatre could use an upgrade to the better reclining seats. Felt like a sardine packed in with no arm room or space for feet. Concessions were good. Audience could use some discipline to reduce talking/yelling/phone usage during films. Pre-show video could be better refined to stop showing spoilers.
Always a great experience! There are never any problems with the movie itself. Popcorn is fresh and the concessions workers are always nice. Even with a long line, they are very fast and get everyone through quickly. Ive seen Black Widow and Shang-Chi and both movies looked and sounded great. Its nice they have the IMAX options although Ive never seen anything in IMAX.
Saw a quiet place 2 with my fiance the movie was awesome but, the theater was so hot it was hard to pay attention and enjoy the movie. The popcorn was delicious you have to ask for any seasonings, the butter dispensers are still operational. Im pretty sure they got bigger buckets for the popcorn. I would have given 5 stars but they clearly didnt have the AC on.
Saw the Hitmans Wifes bodyguard,(HILARIOUS) but thats irrelevant, the theater was clean and well maintained, still have social distancing but didnt feel like I was being quarantined. The new chairs are really comfortable with moderate leg room. Staff was courteous and brought our food to our seats before the movie started which was really nice. Great place to kick back and enjoy a good movie.
Id give this visit no star if I could. My wife and I took our children to see a movie. Not only were people talking all around us, but a few people actually lit up and smoked pot in the movie theater! We left and looked for a manager to no success. Then simply got outta there. This once family friendly venue is not safe for kids!
The leather seats are much nicer than the typical cloth ones. It makes me feel better knowing they have been cleaned and Im not sitting in grossness. They have a large food menu with many good options. Kinda pricey but hey, thats how they make money!I often go to the IMAX because I personally think it makes for a better experience. The screen is MASSIVE and the speakers are loud (sometimes too much so) which helps when the actors are whispering and its hard to hear exactly what they are saying.
Spent almost $100 to go see dune in IMAX at the Thursday 925pm preview with friends and there were multiple dead pixels in the botton left quarter of the screen, the audio had crackling and was turned up SUPER loud to compensate for either aging sound or dead speakers. I would never see another movie in the celebration north IMAX and if I dune wasnt so stunning id probably have walked out and never come back. First time in a theater since 2019 and felt very cheated out of my tickets.
My fiancé and I just spent an hour and a half sweating our butts off in this theatre. It must’ve be 85° in there. I told an employee who ensured me someone would turn the AC on about halfway through the movie…never happened. I walked out with a migraine and my fiancé ended up puking from the heat. We payed $30 for a nice evening, not a heat wave.
The theater is very nice. The seats are very comfy and they recline back like most theaters these days. The quality was good and the feel of the theater was very nice. It has a large atrium at the beginning with a full bar and small lounge. The concessions were good and overall the service was very fast. I would say the cost of tickets is more expensive than most places, I had to pay $11 to see a standard movie which is a decent amount in my opinion.
It thinks I was at celebration, but I was actually at The Melting Pot. Which was great! Ate way too much though. Like, woah, stuffed. Then I went on a carriage ride downtown Grand Rapids and proposed to my girlfriend! Overall I give my nightbout 5 out of 5 stars. Would do again!
Too pricey to enjoy more than a few times a year. I simply cant justify spending high prices here. They do have a rewards club, get a card before you pay for tickets. Their seats are nice. I used to work there as a third shift years ago and I can see their updates are nice.
Great movie theater! Tickets are sold with seat assignments so you dont have to worry about being early enough to get good seats. They offer a student discount. They also serve alcohol which is kind of a cool perk. This is where I go for all my movie nights. Highly recommend!
Went for a corporate event/movie for Mary Free Bed as a thanks. you guys are awesome! Popcorn and pop plus some candy and raffles our 10 year old won candy. Theater was clean and fresh smelling seats are comfortable. Family bathroom was great and clean for our 3 year old girl (it can be unsettling to have to bring her to the mens room past the guys standing at the urinals, and Im not ready for that talk yet). Have worked data/electrical and done work at this location 3 or 4 times you guys were great then free pops and popcorn as were working. Always have a great experience!!!
Extremely nice theater, very modern and free refills for drinks and popcorn. At least 15 different theaters always comfortable sitting and excellent sound and video. Very nice lobby with a very nice staff. Restrooms are clean and so was the entire theater. Conveniently located next to the main road and very comfortable.
This is one of the coolest theaters Ive been to. The option to order food and have it brought to your seat was awesome. We went to see Jo Jo Rabbit and it played in a small quaint theater. Only half the theater had the big reclining seats but that didnt take away from the experience. The characters from Frozen were in the lobby by the concessions greeting kids for free. Although my girlfriend and I didnt partake in meeting them, it was cool to see a small event there for the kids. All in all, well be coming back and Celebration Cinema was a great addition to our trip to Grand Rapids.
Purchased tickets online had no issues waiting. Staff is always friendly and smiling. The theaters themselves have pretty comfortable seats and good quality sound, especially in IMAX ;)I think we can all agree that we pay too much for a drink and popcorn, but thats any theater you go to. Thats why I didnt reduce rating and gave it five stars. Celebration Cinema offers a decent rewards program thats free to sign up, so that helps reduce cost! :)
This theater is spectacular in layout and offerings, both showings and concessions. Always clean and friendly. Note: I am a traditional movie-goer and miss the traditional nachos with the yellow rounds, processed cheese, and pickled jalapeños. I vote to make those available again. 🖖
Staff is always Friendly and helpful. I never feel like I have a wait to long for my tickets even on a busy night. Theaters are a good size, always have enough leg room and the seats are comfortable. My only complaint is that their new website still has a lot of bugs and as a result I purchased the wrong tickets one evening. However I went right up to their help desk showed them the website explain to them my problem and they resolved it right away. Celebration cinema, particularly this North Branch, is by far the best theater I have ever been to.
This is a very cool design for a theater. Staff was friendly and lively enough without being fake or forced. Screens and seats were great, and the crowd seemed well behaved and civilized. If I lived anywhere near here, Id spend a couple dollars more per ticket to go here. Bathroom was clean 1 of 2 times I went here.
Great theater that has many perks outside of just good movies. Cold stone creamery that you can eat in lobby but not the theaters, a full service bar with domestic and craft beer and spirits, I believe the can go into the theaters. A large food service counter and a large area for arcades. Almost always busy so it has a nice buzz to the atmosphere. The building is surrounded by restaurants. Especially pretty in the Winter.
One of the best theaters in the area. Wish they would expand the recliner seats to throughout the theater though. They now serve beer and the reserved seating is awesome. The lamp wasnt working on the last movie I saw there and they were able to bump us to a different show that night and gave us a voucher for another movie. Great service and always very clean.
Their drive in is a huge disappointment! Doesn’t matter if there’s 2 or 5 people the pice is the same. It’s bad enough when they place your vehicle you’ll be behind either a pickup an be breathing in his exhaust. Or a SUV that insist on opening their back to sit in it and block any possible view you may have been lucky enough to get. Staff are not only unhelpful but either rude or indifferent. They will suggest you leave and not refund your $30 ticket!
We like coming to this Celebration! Cinema location. If you purchase your tickets online in advance, you can pick your seats and pick up easily and quickly at the ticket kiosk. Seats are very comfortable. Bathrooms are clean. And they always have fun stuff going on for big movie nights, like dressed up characters!
I actually love this theater! I attended the Midnight Deal and its amazing! You get all these fries and an alcoholic drink (if youre 21+) along with your chosen movie ticket. The worker was nice enough to bring us our order of fries after we drifted to go get our drinks. Its always clean, seats are comfy and its conveniently located! Fave place.
Always OK for movie watching. The seats are nice that they recovered them and are more comfortable than they were previously, but I definitely wish they would have tried to be a bit more competitive with AMC and installed more recliners or at least installed nice recliners in the front rows instead of the cheap ones that are there. The sound was a bit off in the theater we were in and the temperature was not regulated at all... Way too hot.
Celebration north is my go to location for big movies. Its clean, the staff is fast and friendly. On my most recent visit(Mortal Engines) they were giving out free popcorn and fountain drinks. The concessions are always good even when you do have to pay. Also this location has a bar in the lobby, it makes for a nice post movie place to discuss what we thought.
I choose this theatre over any others in the area. Bar allows you to take drinks to your show plus you can order concessions to be delivered to your seat. Cheap Tuesdays and plenty of parking around the structure. I also really like that they have their bathrooms close to all theatres so you wont miss as much when ya gotta go. All the staff are so nice.
This is my favorite theater in the area. The seats are very comfortable and some even fully recline. Wheelchair accessible seating areas as well. The IMAX is always a great experience and worth the ticket price. They even serve beer at a bar area in the main lobby to get your drink on before the show.
A nice theater, and the food getting delivered to your seat is a plus. Its a bit hard to eat the pizza with no table trays, though. Also, the bathrooms are way too small for a theater of that size, so definitely be sure to use a bathroom beforehand to avoid waiting in a super long line.
I had pizza delivered to my reclining seat. Need I really say more? Delivery was free. Pizza was reasonably priced. The other concessions were a bit much considering they were the same price as a pizza. But its definitely got a lot of fancy upgrades compared to other movie theaters.
This is a nice theater. The night I was there, they had a lot of cashiers to select seats and buy tickets. The bar is nice and has a lot of options there as well. Seats were comfortable and the sound was good. It was really warm in the theater the night I was there. The place was full so that may have been a factor.
This is a fairly good cinema. Crowd sizes are standard. It has the only IMAX screen (that I know of) in town, and has reserved seating. The confectionary prices are routine for what youd expect in a cinema. It has 2 main entrances, which is convenient. Even at the busiest of times there is usually adequate parking. For better or worse they have a newly installed octagonal-style bar on one side of the main foyer, which is quite busy even early in the evening (for instance, 7pm showing). Im not sure if I like this, as my friends and I routinely bring young children to later shows on the weekend. There have been however, ZERO problems thus far and therefore I will keep my skepticism in check. I will update this post if this changes.Overall, its a good place to bring your family/date with friendly service, usually efficient, clean theatres with good screen quality and exceptional sound. Enjoy!
Went to Celebration North and was refused entry because of my diabilites. I have 3 lung diseases and a heart condition that all cause shortness of breath and a lot of other symptoms. My disabilities make it physically unable to breathe with a mask on. My disabilites also have me under the protection of federal ADA laws. The counter person stated that because theyre a private company that they are not required to follow The Americans with Disabilities Act.
I was very surprised at how busy it was! There was no parking anywhere within the cinema lots- even though there is ample parking especially for Grand Rapids. Inside was just as crazy, there were people everywhere, and there was no special movie showing or event that I knew of. I got through the ticket line quickly, though. The theater itself was much smaller than I was expecting, and there wasnt all that much leg room and people could only exit the seats from the left side. The movie was clear and loud, just as to be expected. Overall, I was not all that impressed, however. I will say there is a lot of selection and decent prices.
As much as I want to hold the prices against Celebration, its the unfortunate standard for cinemas in Grand Rapids. They have a typically selection of main stream movies, but also do an exceptional job of offering alternative programming and unique events (from sensory safe movies, to midnight movies, to the Founders Film series)! Their theaters are typically clean and accessible, with great seating choices. The staff are always responsive and courteous. The food/snacks is priced to an extreme, with standard quality. One thing of note: their rewards program is surprisingly generous, and its a great (and free) perk for frequent guests.
Everything was very clean. Some other local theaters are looking run down and nasty, but this Celebration was pristine. Two sodas and a popcorn are $22, which seems stupid high. All Pepsi products, which kind of sucked, but lots of choices including slushies, which worked out. Overall excellent impression.
Parking can be challenging at times. Lines are typically manageable. During peak times they usually have both sets of ticket and snack areas open. There is assigned seating, but you can choose it yourself when purchasing tickets. Power recliners are only available in rows A, B and C of the standard theaters.
This movie theater is nice because they have plenty of theaters and comfy seats. Their snacks are a bit overpriced but thats movie theaters really. The parking can be tight close up but you can typically find more on the back side. They also have e plenty of restaurants around for a movie dinner date night and sometime offer specials, deals or combos with partnering businesses.
The tickets are very easy to obtain online and you avoid the hassle of waiting in line at the site. Even though there is a self serve ticket booth which is also very helpful and avoids long waiting times. The shops near by make it easy to get a bite to eat after the movie or relax at the Star bucks while you wait for the movie to start.
Always loved this movie theater. The staff are always friendly and tickets are fairly priced. The theaters are very comfy but the popcorn is a bit expensive but worth it with all of the seasoning they have to put on your popcorn. They also have hot sauce to our on your popcorn which is amazing.
Saw Justice League in the IMAX screen here. Overall, it was a great experience - tickets were reasonably priced, the seats were extremely comfy and the picture quality was great. Our showing was relatively empty, despite being close to the opening night. Would definitely recommend.
Since 2006 (when I took my first date here) to today (when I take that same girl, now my wife): great service, outstanding food and snacks, friendly and helpful staff, cool movie theater feel. Up to date features and service. Always trying to be the best for their customers!
For as long as I can remember, this is the theatre my family and I have chosen for movies. They have always had such a variety of options to pick from at convenient times. They are quick to roll out new options for food and seating. I like celebration because there are so many other things to do other than just movies. It is colorful and inviting - they now have a bar! Definitely the more expensive of the theatre options around here, but they are great about discounts.
The wait times in both the ticket and concession lines are usually pretty short. Concessions are pricey but thats the same with all movie theaters. Never had a technical issue while a movie was playing. Overall its a good experience and I dont mind going here every once in a while.
Honestly, there is nothing wrong with this theatre. The architecture is great both inside and out and really sets a good movie mood. Though the best part of this location is the Imax experience which is amazing and is the highlight of the whole cinema with its big screen! Overall, a real clean theatre with amazing vibes and the Imax to top it all off!
Lines are rarely long due to proper show time intervals. There are also automated credit card kiosks if youre in a real hurry.Popcorn is always fresh and tasty. Decent portions for the price and size upgrades for a nominal price, so you arent stuck buying only package defined items. They offer free Kernal Seasons popcorn seasonings, which is a huge plus.Im in a wheelchair and really appreciate their new handicap seating, with recliner style chairs for my companion.Ive never been disappointed here and the one or two times Ive had a problem finding handicap seating in a show was my own fault for not getting there early and they refunded the price of the tickets as well as our concession purchases. So, while being disappointed in the fact that I couldnt see the movie we wanted, I cant blame the theater and they made sure I didnt spend money for nothing.Customer service is top notch!
Celebration Cinema North is a good cinema. While at Calvin College, I thought it was the best and compared to theaters Ive been to in other states in the Mid West, this one may be the best. After living on the East Coast and often traveling to the West Coast, I now realize Celebration Cinema North is a good average theater. Its clean, has good concessions and offers all the hit movies out at any given time. Compared to the coasts, its way cheaper with a movie ticket costing $11 on a Friday or Saturday night. If youre in GR, definitely stop by here. Its the best in the city!
The layout of this movie theater is one of my favorites with enough open space that even on a busy night it doesnt feel crowded but the staff seem to have speed rather than quality of service in mind for the customer. Last time I was there a large line behind me the employee giving me my tickets flew through the process of letting me pick my seat and I didnt get the recliner I wanted do to a miscommunication about where they were located but the other seats are comfortable as well. Clean in the theaters and bathrooms as well!
Great theatre. They will deliver your food (or drink from the bar!) to your seat (and the seats are very comfortable, btw)!Clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful. This is my go-theater (despite it not being the closest to my home).Highly recommend to all.
Enjoyed Black Panther. Was only mildly annoyed we had to sit up front with choose your seats. It was not my favorite. But, on the plus side the cushy seats reclined, so that was nice. Dropped nearly $80, for tickets and snacks for 2 adults and 2 kids. I would do it again for the right movie.
Excellent movie going experience, every time! Probably have seen 50+ movies here over the last several years and have never once encountered an employee that was anything less than friendly and helpful. They’re ahead of the curve here.....they put a bar in, greatly expanded their menu and hand deliver your order to your seat. No ostentatious, under qualified millennials ruining your experience as a consumer here......everyone’s smiling =)Big operation to run, but they obviously care about quality from the top down.....and it shows!
Before I give any opinion on this theater I should say that I am one of the cynics who started watching movies when he was 15 when they were $6 and now they are double that. In that time span I saw the prices go up without any new amenities or conveniences being added. With that being said, I have been very pleasantly surprised with the uptick in comfort and ease in purchasing and getting the tickets that Celebration Cinema has added. The kiosk that you can use to either purchase tickets faster or pick up tickets ordered online is extremely useful and an advancement that I like to see. I also love the new reclining seats that they added into some of the theaters and that I am willing to pay more for. And lastly, the addition for seat reservation online is wonderful as well as you are guaranteed sitting next to the person you want to. Five stars not given just because of the still crazy high price of food.
Lines move fast. Great selection of refreshments. I was happy to find decaf tea but didnt care for the flavors. Everyone was nice except for the ladies who kept kicking my chair and the men putting their feet on the chairs which made my seat move everytime. I suggest someone come through and ask ppl to keep their feet off the seats. Leg room is plenty. thank u
The seats are very tight together and the walk ways are super small, everyone in the row has to stand up every time someone needs to get up.. also, the arm rests are hard plastic and do not move. Definately not worth the price you pay for tickets. The Celebration on the south side is much better for the money you spend.
I had excellent service here today! I was on crutches and one of the employees went above and beyond and helped me get my concessions and carried them to the theater for me! The only thing that could have made it better is if the employee at the ticket counter had let me know that the seat I chose was up some stairs lol (but I also could have asked, this I realize...)
The theater had a great atmosphere until we got to the ticketing line theater seating. We paid ahead and the lines were still outrageous. If you are a big person or have wide shoulders like my husband be prepared to share your seat with someone else. I understand that people who chose seats inside has to go pass the people who bought tickets for the end seats. That wasnt my issue my issue was the people behind us talked the entire time through the he movie and reeked of cigarettes and the people next to us talked and had there phones out. I couldnt understand what was going on because of those 2 different sets of people. I know the theater doesnt control adults and all but it wasnt exactly the experience I was looking for when I went. Other that that the movie of what I could understand was great. Im not sure if I visited again I would go back.
Any small town cinema rat would love this big roomy cinema. Its got VIP seating, some nice big seats, however, the lines can be an issue, we could of left during the Frozen short to get popcorn though, I had no idea it was going to be thirty minutes! Need some previews like that to save time! Keep it up!
Definitely an upscale Celebration! Cinema. Has the recliners as an option, but are the front rows. Does IMAX 3D and I believe D-Box as well, has a bar, and a Cold Stone. Right outside the front door is Ming 10 which is amazing as well. GREAT location, the lines are quick even in a sold out show, so get there with ample time to buy your ticket to have a good seat.
Super friendly staff, even on Thanksgiving. Easy to find your place, good sized theaters though some can only be entered from one side and its the side opposite the enterence/exit. Recliners offered. TONS of meal options and a bar is available. Several restrooms too.

2022-01-30Having not been to a movie theater since before the Pandemic began, I took a chance as I wanted to see the Betty White special!!I was not disappointed! The line to get tickets and concessions was long, but moved at a decent pace. Surprised to see more than snacking things on the menu (albeit not any healthy options) such as pizza, bread sticks and pretzels. Once you order your movie, the cashier brings up a menu on the screen for you to choose seats. They then bring your food to your seat!!The theater was comfy, and I found the experience to be just what I needed as I watched people talk about the amazing Betty White!!!

2022-05-23Now that Covid is less threatening, I wanted to sign up for the great 3 movie a week pack. Was informed I had to go online even though I am already in their computer system. Found the person at the concierge desk incredibly snark about this. So much for their exceptional service

2022-05-21This was only my second trip to this, or any theater since the start of the pandemic. My family and I have always loved the Celebration theaters and this place to where to go in Grand Rapids to see a movie in IMAX.All our visits here since as far back as I can remember weve never had a negative experience due to location problems. Any problems stem from rude customers that run their mouths during a film.Would gladly give this place 5 stars but Im settled with a solid 4 star rating due to concessions prices. It feels like Im being charged the same amount for pop or popcorn as I would at a large stadium sports game. Otherwise overall my family and I love this location and will continue to come back for many years to come.

2022-04-22Good movie theater. Their ticket and food and drink prices are skyrocketing, so it makes it less of a draw for me to want to come back. The staff were friendly, and were doing a good job to keep the halls and theater rooms clean.

2022-04-19This place is always a very smooth experience. Lots of theaters, comfortable seating for the most part. Also check out the Cold Stone next to the theater after your movie, can never go wrong with Cold Stone!

2022-06-14Came here with my boyfriend to see the new Jurassic world in imax and it was everything it said it was going to be. Love that you have the option to have a reclined seat in the front row or a standard theater seat. And the screen is big enough to where you can sit in the very last row and still see the screen with no Hassel! Will be going back here again!

2022-04-30I really can’t explain why I just love Celebration Cinema North. The beer options, the sliders, Coldstone ice cream, Pumphouse, all the food options around this specific theater. It’s the best! Makes for a perfect girls day out!

2022-06-20Great service. Staff is awesome. Theaters are up to date and nice. Screens are big and theaters sounds good. Food is great. I have had the nachos, the mini corn dogs, and the chicken tenders. All were good.
