Chevrolet Service in other cities:
Where do I start. My 2012 Chevrolet Traverse had two codes come up service traction control and service stabilitrak. Then the engine power would reduce so I couldn’t go more then 30 mph without struggling. I took it to belle tire and they cleaned out my throttle body and for about a week it ran fine but then the codes came back and again had the same problem. When I took my vehicle back to belle tire they said they couldn’t definitively say if it was the throttle body, gas pedal, or faulty wiring. So of course I’m not going to pay $500 for my vehicle to “maybe” get fixed or not. So I called the dealership and they agreed that if I made an appointment and left my vehicle with them that they could definitively figure out what was wrong and fix the issue. I don’t know why I thought taking it to the dealership would be any different this time from any other time I’ve had issues with these dealerships fixing my vehicles. The last vehicle I had was a Volkswagen and had issues, long story short and over $2,000 later after the dealership kept “attempting” to fix the issue over multiple times I took my Volkswagen to a small shop and what do you know it was that the transmission was failing and nothing else. What a joke. These dealerships are nothing but a money pit. Anyway back to the subject. Took my Chevy traverse to Buff they ran their $85 service and said it was the gas pedal so I agreed to let them fix it and $350 later I pick it up and then boom another light comes on shortly after. Shocking right? This time it was service battery charging system. So naturally I brought my vehicle back to Buff and they had the vehicle for a day. When they called me the next day they said it’s your alternator that needs to be replaced it’ll be $1,400 do you want it done. Well no not really that’s an arm and a leg I’ll take my chances elsewhere. So I go pick my car up and of course it died so I had it towed to belle tire where they agreed to do it for a THIRD of Buff Whelan’s price. $900 less than Buff to have it fixed! That’s insane. Not only that but they actually called me an hour ago and told me why my alternator went bad. Apparently the oil filler neck gasket was leaking and the oil had no where to go but on the alternator. Really Buff Whelan?! You didn’t say a thing about that to me or my boyfriend over our phone calls. So again, I dunno why I thought this time with the dealership would be any different. Good thing I went elsewhere cause in the long run I would’ve paid Buff $1,400 to replace it and do that what, twice? After they put a new alternator in to then have oil leak all over it again and go through this twice. You do the math. I have given a lot of business to Buff. I bought my traverse there and my boyfriend bought his truck there that’s $43,000 in business they had from us they will never again have. We will now go anywhere else to buy our vehicles. What a shame. And please don’t try and contact us to explain or apologize or whatever you think will smooth this over. All that’s going to do at this point is tick us off even more cause at this point there’s nothing you can say to swindle us back into your good graces. So please don’t waste either of our time any further. I just hope other people don’t have the same issues with your services we did. On a positive note with my full coverage they did give us a loaner but every dealership does that. I will say that the rental service employees there were really helpful, accommodating, and really polite. That was really the only positive experience I had through all this. So you can thank them for all the stars you received cause if it weren’t for them I’d give you one.
The service department was responsive and the actual cost of the work came in hundreds of dollars below the original estimate. The service tech identified a lose clamp which negated the need to replace a major engine component. My car is 10 years old but they treated me like I had a brand new top of the line vehicle. All-in-all it was an all-round super experience..
Truly disappointed, I’d first like to say is that anytime my grandmother needs help with her car with maintenance or just an oil change I always drive her to a shop to get what she needs. So a few weeks ago she needed to get the oil change done and we went to this location for the 1st time. I suggested to her to go here instead of our normal place since I heard about the rebuild finally being completed a ways back and wanted to wait a bit to make sure we show up once on the kinks were worked out. Anyway we assumed that this place would be really great since it’s all brand new. This was where the major disappointed came from. 1. Nearly impossible to even drive into the garage doors to bring the car into the building, not sure why they have it that way to come in, seems like common sense to have that flipped to the other side. Saw almost every car pulling in struggle not to hit something.. 2. Honestly this place looks like a jail inside. The outside view looked really nice, but once you pull in just looks like I pulled into the county jail for visitation. Just not inviting. 3. The customer lounge is just bad and very small, is smaller than an coach class airline seat. This is the main reason why we loved our normal service location. At our normal spot they have a very large waiting room with snacks, drinks, and even a small cafeteria that sold food. This was a huge let down when I saw what the waiting room was. It looked like someone went thrift shopping at Salvation Army. It seems like they really missed out big time on the rebuild since there are many other places that offer so much more to their customers. Only thing offered here is a vending machine. That’s it. 4. Very understaffed, the garage building was packed with cars and it seems like the staff that was there just could not keep up with the business that was coming in, everyone seemed to be moving fast but just could not keep up.. So I know when something as major as a fire burns down your building can add a major stress on money spending, but it seems like they cut way to many corners here. It’s really the small things that keep a customer. That’s why I’m going back to my normal spot along with many others either going back or choosing a different spot. Lastly to add is that I’ve seen 3 or 4 Facebook posts on local FB groups in the past year or so also commenting about these same issue. All about what a big let down this new building offers. The last post I saw was a few weeks ago basically saying the same thing I am. These community Facebook groups have 1,000’s of people in them and it’s clear that who ever approved this building failed many times over again... all you have to do is walk right next door and see what they offer to a customer and you will see why I will not return to this location. Very sad..
Never have a group of individuals impressed me so much, they even cleaned my volt and installed a part I bought from the parts department, never will I buy a car or get serviced any place else !!! Buff Whelan must see Jason in service, and Tom in body shop, and Tom sales showroom manager
Third purchase!!! The pre-owned sales team is absolutely AMAZING!!! Jim S. was FANTASTIC! He didnt just sell my husband and I a truck, he provided a uniquely pleasant purchasing experience!!! The application process was super easy and absolutely painless thanks to Jims diligent work practices, resourcefulness and world class customer service approach. If youre looking to purchase a great pre- owned vehicle without fuss or must, this is where you wanna go. Thank you Jim and Amanda for WOWing us yet once again!!!

2021-12-18Your website indicates youre the #1 Chevy Service Center but I dont agree. I drove downstate for a funeral & had vehicle problems. Not able to help me or ever put your scanner on my vehicle to find out why Ill have limiter speed in 150 miles. I was told to leave it & it would be 5 days but service guy cared less that I lived 280 miles away & I was basically stranded. I know were all busy now days but u should have somehow worked me in!! Youre definitely not worthy of a #1 Service Rating!!!

2021-10-31We didnt get happy news on our car but not their fault. They werent able to get my car in right away but we have a new Trailblazer we got 2 months ago from them so we were not in a hurry. Were very good about keeping us informed about status. When we went to pick up our car our salesperson took our new car for a car wash.

2021-10-03Great experience here. While my car was totalled out, the employees there took care of me and made sure to keep me informed of everything. Would highly recommend you go here especially if you own a Chevy Volt.

2020-02-11The salesperson immediately gave off arrogant vibes and was not all that friendly; I was unimpressed with the introduction. The overall attitude of the salesperson was pretty much take it or leave it, I dont actually need your business. Nothing was printed out or explained in detail, not even shown on the computer. Questions were responded to so vaguely I never felt like they were really answered. I was told several times by the salesperson how great they were at selling; it was off-putting to be reminded by someone several times how highly they thought of themselves and definitely unnecessary. There was also some dishonesty in the way prices were presented and unfortunately the entire interaction left a bad taste. The dealership and salesperson are there to make money, understandably, however they should ensure complete transparency and hold their staff to that guideline as an ethical business practice. The salesperson tried to hide optional packages and warranties in the price without disclosing they had done so. Questioning and refusal of these extras by me was met with resistance and rudeness. The sales manager should review their staff more thoroughly to ensure customers are not being mislead or cheated, unless of course they dont care and this is actually an encouraged practice.I would have to think twice about doing business here again, but definitely would not deal with the same salesperson. Some other staff seemed friendly and the Finance Manager was accomodating and followed through which is the only reason I would even reconsider coming here again in hopes of a better sales experience.

2020-10-22This location is top notch. From the beginning when I call a couple days ago asking what is there current procedure in terms of having my Chevy Colorado service, from just picking my vehicle up today. I was so blown away by the staff, and Jason Crager whom was my point of contact, that I sat in my vehicle in the parking lot saying now that’s customer service, and effective immediately this is where I will come from now on to have my vehicle service, and purchase my next vehicle.

2020-02-23Brought my vehicle in for warranty issue and had an appointment. Really organized when checking in and getting a loaner vehicle. Polite and helpful staff. It was a little confusing when picking up my vehicle but still a good experience.

2019-12-27I needed a new dealership and I found Buff Whelan. I had taken my last car here for some maintenance the problem was quick to get fixed! When my lease ended I went back to them and I am glad I did. They are always friendly to me and made sure they had answered all my questions or concerns.
