Disappointed to say the least. Weve also been loyal customers to this place for a long time.We ordered chicken, coleslaw & potatoes.Mind you this was at 5:30pm on Sunday so the food shouldve been freshly made. The chicken looked like it was cooked a day ago and very tough. The coleslaw was very yellow and tasted horrible. My son was the only one who actually ate the coleslaw and today (less then a day later) the school called me and hes got a terrible stomach ache. The potatoes were OK but some were quite hard.Im beginning to think they changed ownership because weve always had fresh good food from here.One thing restaurants and fast food businesses have to understand is......it only takes one bad meal for someone to say well, we wont be eating there again Then youve lost your core customers.Theres just very little room for error when it comes to serving food. Especially when one of your children get sick from it.
Great experience! Ordered a 24pc of chicken with 3 sides and food was ready quicker than I thought! Manager in red jacket is very friendly! Will definitely return.
I just ordered on 2.13.22 ahead of the Superbowl. Arrived cold and for over $40, what a joke. Food was missing. I ordered through their website. Owner said bring it back. Dude, i had it delivered for a reason. Such a loser. Asked for a refund. Wouldnt budge. I know the issues restaurants are going through, and i support most, however,this place is a joke. Never again. So disappointed. Place has went downhill.
I placed a order for my team at work that was around $85. They ended up forgetting a part of the order, no big deal just get a refund on that portion, right?I talked to one of the cashiers they asked if I could come back. That wasnt an option since I lose money every time I leave work to grab something. I just wanted a refund for the price of the missing meal. They hand it over to the manager, the manager told me am I sure its missing. I told her yes and explained what I received. She said thats impossible she packed it herself and why would she put the sauces in the bag and forget the meal. She said if I even wanted them to remake the food I had to bring everything back up there, because she didnt believe me. You know the food for like 5 people on my team, I already passed out.So she ends up putting me on hold for 10 minutes, cashier picks up again, back on hold, she picks up again saying she talked to the owner no refunds I can get that particular meal for free but I have to come in, in less than a week.after the entire situation I dont trust them to make food for me at any time. I dont trust the manager wouldnt spit in it or do something to it.
This place used to be awesome. Its totally down hill in the last few months. Cashier was borderline unprofessional and seemed impatient with me asking questions. Wings are soooo small now and its insulting for the high prices. I used to come for years, now Ill stick to popeys. Its now hit and miss on if your chicken will be good or just mediocre.
The staff are very friendly at this location. It is also modern and very clean compared to other Chicken Shacks.
I am always let down by this location. Just received a cod dinner from DoorDash and the fish and potatoes are undercooked plus they didn’t include any tarter sauce. Guess I have to go to Clawson where they do it right.
Chicken was hot and fresh. Variety of sides available. A little pricey but worth treating yourself, once in a while.
Just like others have already said My Family has been loyal customers of The Chicken Shack on 16 & Vandyke Ave.For many years they have always had great customer service and awesome Food.The last few times we decided to order we have been less than impressed with both the food and service.It been like that the last 3 or 4 times ordering something.First off we always order broasted potatoes with extra butter but didnt get it but thats not the worst of it at all .The potatoes have been either very hard and under cooked or they were not fresh like they used to be.Today we ordered 2 sides of them and ordered extra butter again but they didnt even have the regular amount of butter they usually do and we absolutely didnt get any extra on the potatoes or on the side plus they were very hard like they were under cooked or old again..They are hardly even edible .The chicken bites havent been the same as before either.They seem like they are also under cooked and or old ones.This has been every time we have ordered from them in the past 4 months or so.I dont recommend this location until something drastically changes .I have waisted $40 of my hard earned money several different times hoping it will be better every time but its actually gotten worse..Bad food bad service .Please bring back the old Chicken Shack like it used to be .Its missed very much in the community for sure.
Counter help was not helpful at all.Ended up paying $13 for 3 small fish sticks. Lots of bread, not much fish.
Been a chicken shack customer for over 40 years from original place on 11 mile in Royal Oak. Live close to Sterling Heights location now. We had stop going for about 6-8 months because didnt care for how food was packaged in Styrofoam and food would melt to Styrofoam. Original Chicken Shack used cardboard plates and kept food hot and fresh. The new cardboard containers are the best thing youve done. Ordered Chicken Bucket last week and came in new container and was hot and perfectly cooked. Tonight stopped by for a Fish Nugget and Shack Mushrooms and again hot and very tasty. Thanks for changing the containers it does make a big difference in food quality.
If I could give no stars I would. I stopped going to this location because the chicken was always dried out, like it had been cooked yesterday, and ff were always cold. I decided to try them again tonight and it was a big mistake. I spent $26.00 on the worst chicken dinner Ive ever had, cold and so dried out I could hardly chew it, cold ffs and a small order of mushrooms that only had 8 or 9 very small, cold mushrooms in it. I will never go to this location again and I will make sure that everyone I know doesnt go there either. Shameful that a restaurant that has been around for so long has gone so downhill.
Have not had Chicken Shack for a long time before this visit. They used to be our favorite. There are Chicken shack clones that are nearer to us geographically. We ordered their chicken, with slaw and roasted potatoes as sides. The chicken was great as usual, however, the broast potatoes were way overdone to the point of being crunchy, and the coleslaw was just not very good. It was mushy and seemed to have been sitting around too long.
Went on 6/22/21. Called ahead around 445pm. Picked up a 4 pc dinner to take to my wife in the hospital. Once I opened the bag I noticed that the chicken had melted the Styrofoam container on the top. And the chicken leg and the wing were burnt where theres no meat in them. So I paid almost $16 for 2 pcs. Of chicken. I will never go back. The employees apparently dont care about the quality of the food. And no they were not busy.
Usually they fry your chicken after you order it, but the guy handed my order so fast, I even said to him, that fast? It was terrible and the butter is usually melted, but this was cold.
We have been a customer of Chi cken Shack for years. Our last couple of visits have been awful! This one tonight, the worst! First of all, we ordered a 12 piece. We were shorted a piece! Second, we ordered coleslaw, got green beans instead. Question for Chicken Shack, where is the Customer Service? Another thing is on my receipt Jayma would happen to be the name on there, THE WORST EVER at the counter. I did try calling there twice once we got home to eat our dinner and the way the phone is answered is so UNPROFESSIONAL! I asked for a Manager and she laughed. This location has to be the worst. WITH HELP LIKE THIS, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE AS BAD AS THIS IS. Might be better if you shut your doors for good as well!
This place never ever gets it right...I dont know how incompetent you have to be to work at this location.This is an update to my last review. I order chicken shack alot always through Grubhub. On the site there is not an option to order an extra dipping sauce. So I called the restaurant and they basically said the Grubhub driver would have to pay for it. I think this is so petty. Im done with the 16 and van dyke restaurant. They will get no more of my business.
A local staple. Wont knock your socks off but a competent alternative to corporate chicken joints. The shack potatoes and creamy coleslaw are often better than the main dish. The English style cod strips are my favorite seafood offering. If you get the wings get them BBQ or they can be dry.
Ordered ribs & chicken. Ribs were good. Chicken dried out overcooked. Staff could be a little bit more welcoming. Accidentally ordered from this store instead of the Shelby location. Will not make that mistake again. Also like the Macomb store.
Called and placed carry out. Didn’t have shack potatoes or boosted mushrooms. So just ordered the bucket with fries and coleslaw no big deal. Was told they are only taking cash (ok). Was told to come through the drive through to pick up. Said 25 min. Sat at the drive thru menu for 12 min before calling and they said to pull up. Food still wasn’t ready and sat there for another 15 min before they finally took my money. Then sat here for another 15 min before my food came out. WTH...never had issues here before. Never said sorry or anything. Just super rude. Total took an hour to get my food they said would be ready in 25 min.
Always do the tenders and potatoes. Always good. Good folks working there.
Apparently they need help.. waited at drive thru, no answer, went in waited at counter, with nobody in front of me forever! Picked up a call in order and it was cold!! Not a good experience!

Stopped in drive thru ordered a couple cod dinners by the time we placed order it literally took only 10 min Everything was Excellent 👍👍 Plus i needed a New Bottle of BBQ Sauce.. New containers are A+ as well.🤘😎
I dont like getting nickel and dimed. I asked for a small amount of hot sauce for carry out fish, which Ive always been given without question at every other Chicken Shack Ive eaten at for many many years. I was told it would be eighty cents extra. If the restaurant isnt making money, they should raise their prices, not charge for basic condiments. McDonalds doesnt charge me for ketchup or for sauce for chicken. I will never go back to this Chicken Shack.
This isn’t our usual chicken shack location, but we were in the area. We must have ordered food on a good day. The carryout order was ready for pickup and was piping hot. I liked that they labeled the outside of the containers so I didn’t have to open every single one to figure out what was inside.The ribs, chicken, broasted potatoes (must try), and cole slaw (so finely chopped that you could drink it!) were all hits with the family. The onion rings were over cooked, still edible, just very crunchy. The chicken bites, there were a few pieces that had too much breading.
Only thing good was the roll and the Cole slaw. Horrible chicken and fries. Cole slaw and 2 dinners $33 dollars ? I will not return.
Warning ⚠️ 47.00 for over cooked broasted potatoes chicken tenders that looked under cooked but were chewy and weird one looked like it was stepped on 2 had the ends broke off, the ribs lack luster, I work hard for my money shame on this chicken shack for not having any quality standards and wasting my hard earned money!! Just terrible!! That was my experience
Fresh hot fries with generous portions of Chicken. Higher priced but definitely worth the couple bucks extra compared to Sonic and others. High quality meals!!!
Definitely not up to Chicken shack quality. Dry chicken, forgot the potatoes and the slaw tasted foul. Staff was not very pleasant either. Wont be back, $50 wasted
I had ordered fresh onion rings and emphasized this to the original person that took my order. She told me that the onion rings are always fresh, which I disputed. SHE HUNG UP ON ME. SHE ALSO messed up on the order for dinner rolls. I had to call back to ensure the order was correct, and I was assured by the new telephone representative that the onion rings were going to be fresh. She corrected the order for the dinner rolls and told me that the onion rings would be fresh. My wife picked up the order and noticed that the onion rings were burnt and drenched in oil. I will never order from this place again and was treated rudely. It is the responsibility of Chicken Shack to satisfy me as a customer. This did not happen..
My wife & I went to Chicken Shack which we always order the Whole Slab Rib Dinner, that costs $31.00, and I went in to pick up our order, and the workers, and even the owner were not wearing their masks correctly, they were wearing them below the nose, which one of the workers didnt even have a mask on at all.The Owner got all defensive when I mentioned to him that they all should be wearing the mask appropriately. All he did is get in a shouting match and he was very Rude with me.The Food was Cold when we got home with it , (we just 5 minutes away).I was so upset I did not even eat them. I will not be ordering from them again. I will tell my friends and family about my experience there. I will be contacting the health department.
I use to like this place & visited frequently in the last 20 years! Went 3 times this month and the food was horrible! Not only did they downsize the portions but the boasted potatoes tasted old & the chicken bites looked like Mc Donald’s nuggets! Never again! I’m done with them
We placed an order on Christmas Eve for our family party, tried calling around 6pm about 10 times to make sure my order was ready for pick up. No one answered and when I checked the website it said they were closed, so I didnt go to pick up the food I already paid for. I called after Christmas to see if I could get a refund and they said they were open until 8:30pm on Christmas Eve and that my food sat there all night. No one contacted me and the manager said there is nothing he could do, did not even offer me a gift card or even the option to make my food again for me to pick up. They also told me that they closed the phone lines down because they couldnt take anymore orders, but I guess they didnt think about the people who already placed an order and may have questions. This location has the worst customer service and no compassion for their customers. We love chicken shack but we will never order from this location again.
Went to this location and sat in the drive thru to place my order and told to hold a moment. When the representative came back she asked what I would like. When I told her my order she said sorry we are no longer taking orders tonight. This was at 6pm when the location closes at 8pm. Who literally gives away customers and money? This is very unprofessional. If this is how you run your business please close this location. By the way Wing Stop two miles down the road took my order tonight. Great location and service.
I have never had such horrible food from any restaurant. The chicken was bad, grease laden and potatoes were as well. The cole slaw was pink and watery had to throw it out!! Will never Ofer food at this place again. The window at drive thru was filthy that should have been my first clue. Trashed both dinners.

Terrible service. Ordered tender bites for the family. (4 dinners) was told about 20 minutes. Came 25 minutes later to pick up food, only to sit in the drive through for an additional 30 minutes. Food was cold, tender bites were nothing but batter. Some employees were NOT wearing masks and 1 employee had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. When called to complain about the service, the owner/manager was beyond rude and accused us of lying. and said none of his employees were smoking in the building. LIE. AND said employee could not have been smoking because all employees wear masks. LIE. Long story short, money was refunded. As we were in the building getting our refund, another employee was at the grill with NO MASK on. During a pandemic and preparing food, I strongly feel you should be wearing a mask at all times. This location has lost my business.
I ordered almost $60 in food last night for my family of 4, 6pc chicken, 2 5pc chicken tenders, large potatoes, coleslaw, half rack of ribs and large mushrooms. I’m still on the toilet after letting go three times already and have been farting all night.Service was great, placed order above for all but the 2 5pc tenders and was told 20-25 minutes, when I found out another person was joining us I called back in less than 5 minutes to add the two 5pc tenders, was told then my whole order would be ready in 5 minutes. Not sure what happened to the other 10-15 minutes so I immediately left to pick up order and yes it was ready.As for the quality, it seems it is not what it used to be. I ended up feeding most of the fried chicken to my dog, she eats almost anything. Thank god she’s not farting or dumping it out too!
Quality of food is not worth the price. They will give you anything. Cold, old, shriveled up. They do not care😂🤦🏾♀️Ill never come to this location again..

This Chicken Shack does not live up to the brand and unfortunately if its your first time having Chicken Shack theyll leave you with an impression that its like this at every one and it isnt. Potatoes were dry and horrible customer service (employees werent wearing masks and rude). Will rather drive to Warren even though this place is 5 mins up the street from me.
I ordered a chicken bite dinner with boasted potatoes I mean the worst meal Ive had in my whole chicken shack experiences!!! I use to work at the one on lil mac years back. The chicken had black spots on it from previous chicken bites which (was burnt) specs of greese and batter on my chicken. It only gets worse from there the potatoes looked old and discolored. Called manager and he was pretty cool claimed he was new, but by far the worst meal Ive had in a long long time, I have two credits but not sure if ill ever go back. Ill stick with the one on 696 an shner..
This is my last time at this place. Ordered 2 4 piece dinners through the drive thru. They gave us our order right away. When we opened them up it looked like they put the chicken back in the oil to heat it up. Well done and so dry. Also got one with coleslaw and one with potatoes. Got both with potatoes. $25 down the drain it wont happen again. So tired of these places charging an arm and a legfor well done food.
I ordered bbq chicken and the sauce was very scarce,parts of the chicken had no sauce.This was the one time that I regretted not purchasing extra sauce for the potatoes.Two years ago I gave them 4 stars because of the above mentioned regarding the sauce but on May 7,2021 I visited for the second time and none of the employees were wearing the masks properly over their mouths and nose. The manager-owner had a foul attitude when I brought it to his attention he asked if I wanted a refund. I was trying to give the business my support by not getting a refund since they pulled masks up and had not started preparing my order. But when I noticed the mask of one of the employees on the grill was underneath his nose again I asked for a refund.The young ladies -cashiers giggled evidently NOT taking thus pandemic seriously just like the boss!
Love the BBQ sauce! The ribs, broasted potatoes and the chicken tenders are sooo tasty. Sometimes the potatoes need a bit more butter, but they are still too good.
Disgusting food. It tasted like old chicken dumped back into the fryer to appear fresh. Areas of chicken were dried out and other parts had globs of chunky fat. The potatoes were soggy, dripping with grease and overall gross! The onion rings were flavorless and, again, greasy and gross. I get it, its a fried chicken place, but food should have flavors OTHER than old grease. The rolls are even stale. How does this establishment even stay open?!?! What a total waste of money. If you like the taste of old, overly greasy, inedible food- this is your place! ....Wanted to add, if you happen to live by a North Shack, they bury this place!
The Epitome of Ribs!!!! Best ribs I found anywhere across the country!!!! I first made Chicken Shack ribs my favorite in the late 80s when I lived in Metro Detroit. I moved in the mid-90s, lived in several other cities, and traveled the country extensively. While away, craved my favorite ribs. I tried to sate that craving at scores of nationally renown rib joints but none came close to those from Chicken Shack. Ive since returned to the area and Im so happy to find hat the ribs here are as delicious as ever! The favor is beyond description. They are consistently prepared and cooked to perfection. The meat is tender, plentiful and the leanest Ive ever found. Ive yet to be able to contain making yummy sounds while eating them. I can say the same about the broasted potatoes which are awesome, too. I always order an additional side of BBQ sauce for dipping and take them to another level. If youre a rib lover, you owe it to yourself to try them. I find them to be beyond compare. Thanks Chicken Shack for your consistency. Please dont ever change.
The chicken was horrible, the customer service was worse. I returned the inedible chicken while my family ate the rest of the stuff which we dished up for the kids. By the time I returned they were full.Our family dinner, a big treat we looked forward to. was ruined.Adding insult there was no apology, and I was treated like a pest. I worked 4 hours for this splurge, an apology would have been nice. At the very least a small amount of courtesy instead of a scowl. Some sort of compensation would have been nice too, but I guess putting you out by replacing the chicken was over your limit.Were sad well not be enjoying our favorite splurge again, but family dinners and hard earned money are too precious to waste on Chicken Shack.
Love all the food, the food is boasted. Great menu to chose from. Food done in a timely matter and the prices a reasonable. They do catering from 10 to 100 plus.
Place is terrible. Potatoes are always under cooked and the owner makes sure to give the bare minimum each time. Chicken tender bites says 6=8 pieces but you will NEVER get more than 6 and some are usually pretty small. They raised their prices again so a lunch that should cost $5 costs $9 now. Go to any other chicken shack and youll see this is the worst one around.
I come here for lunch everytime Im in the area. The food is always great. The kitchen/restuarant is always so clean and organized. When I visit they always cook my meal to order. Its not fast food speed but it doesnt take long and it tastes fresh.
The reason for one star is because there is not an option for ZERO stars.Placed a order today for almost $30.00 dollars and realized when I got home that there was no utensils and no napkins also I clearly ordered hot n spicy sauce and other sauces for my chicken tenders and chicken shack employees decided that not only did I not need utensils but I didnt need any sauce for my chicken either. So for all the employees at chicken shack today during the 4 p.m shift Id like to give you a thumbs up wont say where to place the thumb up in for the HORRIBLE service you provided to us. And to the manager whom I spoke to and expressed my concerns about the issue which was dumb enough to ask if we would like to drive back for utensils and napkins and hot n spicy sauces YOU MY FRIEND DESERVE CHICKEN SHACKS EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARD.. GO PLUCK YOURSELF..

The only reason my husband and I are giving them four stars is because they didnt get his order exact when he requested more drums in his meal. However, we walked in and were immediately greeted with hellos, smiles and friendly tones of voices! We had a little wait which we thought nothing of because it kept us from having to run back to the car in the pouring (literally terencial downpour/floods) and the manager called in to tell the staff to give us a free small cake of our choice! Not sure of he noticed our wait or if there was another reason but you definitely made a returning customer from us! To be honest, the small mixup with his dinner in beans compared to how friendly and kind the staff and manager are!! Thank you!! I will definitely be recommending you to those looking for a quick, delicious dinner!
Been going to chicken shack for over 35 years and the last 2 orders from this location have been the worst I have ever had. over priced greasy potatoes, soggy cod fish and everything tasted like it was heated up in a microwave. have never had bad fish like this. last order was chicken and that was just as bad. I have ordered my last meal from over priced food from Chicken Shack.!!!!!!
This store was a lot better than another Ive tried before. I was skeptical when a friend insisted we went. Only had a little bit of chicken but it was very good. Enjoyable.
Great spot for broasted chicken, and the broasted potatoes are worth the trip alone. Drive through does take a little longer as everything is cooked after it is ordered for the freshest results.
Chicken Shack (for me) is a guilty pleasure. Theres absolutely nothing healthy about anything they sell but Ill be darned if it doesnt taste good.Most of the menu features deep fried food that gets served in a whole lot of sauce so it can be a bit of a heavy meal. Great flavors definitely come at a price so Chicken Shack is something Ill have only from time to time.
Staff was welcoming, kind and quick. Food was a perfect lunch! Highly recommend the tenders.
$13.50 for 8 tasteless hard fried wing dings and gritty potatoes. I will never step foot in this place again. I tried to add the bbq sauce to improve the flavor of the wings but that didnt help. When I didnt see any cars in the parking lot, I shouldve kept going.
Terrible customer service from older guy who was likely the manager at the counter. Very rude, dry, inpatient, and clearly irritated that we were in the restaurant to order anything at all, not to mention answering any questions we had about the menu. Will not back! Husband became ill shortly after consuming flavorless chicken.

This place has absolutely the worst service. They have screwed up my orders three times now. The manager would only offer me a replacement for what was missing despite my attempting to have the cashier check my order before I left this time. Sure enough, I got home and my order was wrong again. I suggest you open your food and double check it before you leave the store, or go somewhere else entirely.
Take the fried shrimp off the menu if your serving IQF breaded shrimp for $11. Thats ashame. Hand dip fresh shrimp. Dont short cut it. I couldnt believe it when I was served it.
Some of the worst food Ive ever had, from any place Ive ever eaten in 32 years. Five shrimp in the snack, which mostly consisted of fried, rather tasteless breading. Potatoes that were absolutely swimming in butter or oil -- there was around a quarter inch of the stuff pooled on the bottom of the container, where most of the seasoning has also ended up from the looks of it. Im trying to salvage it with napkins and paper towels as we speak, and those are already soaked in grease. This was my first experience with Chicken Shack, and my meal feels way overpriced at $8 (not to mention: what kind of restaurant doesnt stand by their product enough to issue refunds if necessary? I worked at Pizza Hut for half a decade and we always did that). Any given Coney Island in this area does fried shrimp better, not to mention that you can get a giant Styrofoam container of excellent Chinese food or a decent large pizza for the same amount. I honestly feel ripped off, and we wont be back.
Ordered $75.00 worth of food. Manager refused to give me $3.00 off coupon because I didnt order the 16 PC. Nope got the 40 piece and ribs. I wont ever come back. Poor customer service!
Got the Tuesday special--buy 1 combo, get another for 1/2 off. Note order the potatoes for your side since they covered half of the box. I ordered the Cole slaw since it is very good, but it came in a tiny cup. It was probably only 1/4 the size of his potatoes.
Food always great staff is nice i do miss the drive through however.
I used to eat at this overly priced dump alot. I stopped in the other day for lunch and the manager/owner walks past me, picks up garbage off the floor with his bare hands, walks back where the food is being made to throw it away. Then this guy never wahses his hands and procedes to start prepping the food with the cook with his bare nasty hands(no gloves or anything). I immediately walked out. I am extremely disgusted and highly dissapointed in this place and its management and the ridiculously high prices. I will never eat here again.

I go out of my way everytime to go to chicken shack on 16mile and vandyke, I work up on 12 mile and vandyke, the service is great but most of all the food is always great and that is what I always look at the most and that is y I keep comming back! Chicken and potatoes were great. Asked for extra butter on potatoes, didnt happen. Purchased a large closeslaw to go with our meals, the slaw was DRY, &TASTED LIKE GROUND UP BITTER CABBAGE AND CARROTS, NO JUICE TO IT! Threw the entire container in the garbage. Lack of quality control.
Better than some places in Sterling Heights to eat but not as good as a lot of other places. They used to be one of the best places to eat Sterling Heights but have cut both portion amount/size and quality that we will very seldom eat there; we for sure dont go out of our way to eat there.
Service was not good and the chicken had to be from the night before. The manager was standoffish and demeaning. I love Chicken Shack I just will not be returning to this one.
OMG! ALWAYS GOOD! Everything. But we were told yesterday that this location doesnt serve coleslaw, even though its on the menu. So we had to get our family meal with broasted potatoes AND french fries... Still great!

We have been going to this location for years and the last 3 or 4 times have been absolutely terrible. Today 9-7-17 is by far the worst I have ever experienced. We called back to see if they could re make our meal that we spent $9 each on and they said no. We will NEVER go back to this location. If I could give it 0 stars I would. DONT GO HERE!
Chicken is fresh and juicy. Great sides as well. Love the onion rings, Cole slaw and fried mushrooms
This location still carries fried mushrooms! Heck yes, dont change a thing! Make sure you try the coleslaw too!
A full stomach is very easy to have from this restaurant. Good had never disappointed and wait times are decent. Their butter and potatoes are to die for!!
We had an awesome in this place. We enjoyed the awesome atmosphere and the meals. The waiters are super personal. I’m happy we ultimately managed to visit this spot.
They always serve old chiken, went there again for the second time, the first time open the.box and the chicken is cold already, was frustrated, then tried again the second time, this time I checked the box and open, they did it again, I just took my money and forget about it. Its just in vandyke area , other branch they always serve it fresh and hot. Not going back there anymore

Honestly this place has turned pretty awful. The kids who work here are not very good workers and the owners don’t care about it. So my supervisor and I placed an order at work . I wanted to add a side so I called back . After being on hold for 5 minutes , I hung up and called again only to be put back on hold . Meanwhile driving to pick up our order while still on hold for another 12 and a half minutes , I approach the building and park . Someone finally answers as I say gee , about time and am promptly hung up on . Needless to say I didnt get to add to my order which is probably a good thing as I find their food was mediocre at best . And with that kind of customer service why would I ever go back ?

2022-03-05I stopped in this evening after work for an 8 PC chicken meal and a slab of ribs. What I got was the best damn customer service Ive had in years.The young lady who served me needs praise for Going above and beyond. In todays food service industry customers got the short end of the stick.Higher prices,longer lines and sub par food and service. But not here.I will definitely be back soon to enjoy the service This young lady served.Thank you and see you soon!P.S. She was ecstatic over the bottle of BBQ sauce 😉👍

2021-11-25Just stopped in here to grab two chicken tender dinners and boy what a mistake. Ive been going to chicken shack my whole life. My mom always ordered the large mushrooms and ever since Ive always ordered the large mushrooms. Without fail its always been a huge portion of delicious, good size mushrooms in a large 9x9 container. Until today that it is. Today I was served the smallest, saddest and soggy fried mushrooms Ive ever had in a half size container barely filled. 0/10pretty unacceptable for a $9 side that pushed the bill over $45 for two dry chicken tender dinners and a sad sad order of mushrooms.

2022-03-28First and last time at this location. I ordered over the phone BBQ wing ding combo, catfish combo, and rib and wing combo. I requested all flats, but the person said they cant do all flats. I said, ok, well how about more flats than drums, he said he still couldnt do it. I said no big deal. I then requested extra butter on the potatoes. He then tells me my order would be ready in 25 minutes. I get there in 15 minutes, my order is ready. At this point, I am impressed. I live 7 minutes away. Got home, immediately went to eat, my food is at room temperature. On top of my food being room temperature, the BBQ sauce is on the wings like someone poured ketchup on fries, and they gave me damn near all drums, and looked like no butter on the potatoes. I had to warm all my food up in the microwave, and the wings were way overcooke. Like if I got there early, I would think the food would be piping hot. I believe they gave me an order that someone never picked up. So yeah, first and last time at this location.

2022-04-20Ordered a 12 pc Chicken potatoes and coleslaw. When I got home there were barely any potatoes in the container. I called they said they wrote my name down for another side to be redeemed within 30 days. The next day after work I went to redeem the side. The owner was there and stated they did not have any notes about the situation. He was very hostile and though I provided as many details as possible he treated me as if I were lying. He did eventually give me the side of potatoes, but he never once apologized for the situation or acted with care. His attitude towards me seemed racially motivated.The chicken was also soggy and not crispy.

2022-04-20I love chicken shack, but hate this location. Unfortunately this one is closest to me. Ordered my chicken well done because it is always soggy. The chicken was not well done and not even hot when I picked it up. They barely put any potatoes in the container.Customer service is also nonexistent at this location.

2022-03-19Im sorry but I work right near the restaurant so by the time I sat down to eat the food was cold. A side was upside down so the juices were spilling everywhere, and the drink was on the warm side like it had been sitting out for hours. Everything about my order just seemed like it was sitting out for a couple hours.

2020-08-15Ive gotten food from this location for at least 9-10 years now. I am contemplating not coming back to this location ever again. The quality of the food has gone way down. For instance regarding the chicken bites. They used to give you 10 fairly large pieces of chicken and the last few times Ive gotten them they were smaller than a chicken nugget at McDonalds. The chicken bites are also now have too much breading and too well done. Im very disappointed with this matter. For I will attach pictures and show my hand in it for reference.

2020-09-05I LOVE chicken shack. Most of their locations are actually independent of each other but are all consistent. I personally love the chicken tenders. They will not disappoint! Theyre known for the fried chicken on the bone and their ribs are fantastic as well. KFC eat your heart out! Its garbage by contrast to chicken shack! Ive personally visit this location near my new house. The 11 mile royal oak and ryan Warren locations are others I frequented in the past. All equally delicious!!! If you like fried chicken, this is your place!
