Stopped here earlier this week, their food was extremely fresh made to order and the lady at the counter was very attentive and helpful. One of the best Chinese places Ive ever been.
We have ordered takeout four times in the past six weeks, and the food has been consistently excellent! Fresh, carefully prepared, and very generous portions! I can especially recommend their sweet-and-sour chicken, their fried rice, their crab Rangoon, and eggrolls. Their sweet-and-sour sauce is fantastic for kids to dip :) Staff has been very pleasant, good over the phone.They are a hidden gem in their location - I would recommend them primarily for takeout or quick lunch rather than sit-in but I can totally recommend them for consistently great quality, quick and friendly service and excellent taste!
New to Ann Arbor and the food here is pretty good with one huge exception. How can you serve shrimp that isn’t devined? It’s disgusting and expensive. I was hoping to enjoy some shrimp and throw away the whole thing just had the rice. I’d eat here again but not wasting my money on the shrimp!
I have waited an hour and a half for my food and still dont have it. Now, if they said it would be an hour and a half when I ordered that would be one thing, but nope, they said 30 minutes. Then they said sorry it will be 20 more minutes when I show up at the thirty minute mark. So after 30 more minutes (one hour total) I called and they said it will be another 20 minutes. I asked if they would refund my $45.00 and I was told the owner would not refund my money unless I wanted to cancel my order (with my family at home waiting for the food), but would be willing to give me a DISCOUNT on my next order...which there will not be.I have been a customer at this restaurant through owner changes and for 15 years and it is continually going down hill.I will drive an extra 15 to 20 minutes to get Chinese food next time to never have to give them another dime.This is what I get for insisting on shopping local and trying to support my community.The food is good if you are willing to wait hours for it!

Much better food than the other local Chinese restaurants. Panda house food quality has gone down the last time we visited. China King has my business now.
Food was tasty, and I really like the style of the fried rice that they serve here. I had the kung po chicken. The menu has typical options ranging from sesame chicken to moo shoo pork to bean curd. Service was very fast, but the dine-in area was nearly empty. Employee seemed occupied with carry out orders and irritated to be there, but in a very entertaining way. I prefer this to people being super fake. I will be coming back in the future!
The food is always good, but theres only two employees. This leads to long wait times (if you have limited lunch time, plan ahead) and unreliable delivery service. I still gave them 5 stars because there always super nice and I dont want to affect there rating, but wish they would bring on one more person for lunch to help with the business.Oh sorry to even mention, but the egg drop soup has way to much corn starch...it was a big bowl of goop...but seriously everything else Ive had was delicious.
Perfectly prepared... standard dishes but the fried bits are perfect light and crispy not heavy and oily. The sauces are well made and flavorful and the veggies are just right... the first time since moving to Michigan 10 years ago that I have had truly excellent Chinese. Now Im obsessed!

Great Chinese food, good prices, easy pickup. Checks all the boxes on a Chinese restaurant for carryout. I wouldnt eat in the restaurant as it kind of has a cafeteria feel to the few tables they have, but thats not what I come to China King to get.
Loved their Chicken Mei Fun. The veggies and meat were all throughout the dish and the noodle length made eating this dish so easy. Loved the flavor and spice combination! Will be returning again! 🥰
Great food, low cost. It seems that most of their business is delivery or pickups. The dining room is definitely a no frills experience, but the service is prompt and good value. The dining room is usually almost empty, but we see many pickups every time we are there.
The new normal has me questioning everything and as always praying over and blessing all things. No problems with the wonderful Egg-Foo Yung, shrimp fried rice, Schezhan veggies, spicy, and extra gravy. Tasty, filling and no complaints.
Very nice, customer oriented and very clean. We ordered 1 order Kung Pao Chicken 1 order sweet and sour chicken fed our family of 4 with some left over. Was very good. The spring rolls were superb.
Great Chinese food and ready when I arrived. Called ahead several hours before and told them when I could pick it up. The brown rice could be alittle more moist.
I like this place. Its a little, family run place. Its not fancy but its quick, cheap, and friendly. The food quality is consistently good. There are tables, and they do carryout. Their lunch specials are great!

Really good food at a good price. I dont think Ive ever been disappointed in anything Ive ordered here. Its not the nicest dining area, but what do you really expect from a strip mall take-out place, and the food more than makes up for it. Great place to stop after a hard days climb at Planet Rock!
The food was not bad but I have had better. The place was very clean which is a plus. The reason ita a one star for me is because we had to grab our own to go box because no one was checking on us and then we still saw no one and had to ring a bell to tell them we wanted to pay. We sat waiting for the check for a good 10 mins. It was not very good customer service.
I am not impressed with the flavor of their dishes. It tastes too artificial and Americanized. Combine that with relatively high prices and small portion sizes and I will pass on this location.
Very fast. Hot and Sour soup was sweet and super thick, not recommended at all. General Tsos chicken was excessively sweet, not very spicy. Szeschuan beef was very good, so was the fried rice. Egg rolls were average.

They are happy to accommodate larger dining parties when families want a place to enjoy Chinese food together. Love the Curry Chicken, Ginger & Garlic Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken and Singapore Rice Noodles!

Placed an online order tonight after reading positive reviews of this place. My pregnant self was craving almond chicken, but apparently they were out and didnt bother letting us know until my husband arrived to pick up the order. He called me to see if I had been notified, nope. So they asked if I wanted something else and I picked chicken egg foo young - well, they didnt have that either. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? And to top it off, we had already paid online for the order, and the cash refund they gave us was $4 to $5 less than what we paid. Extremely disappointed.
Ive only ever had lunch here. Its not the best Chinese food Ive had but keeps me coming back. The service is good and so are the prices.
Solid (fast food) Chinese joint. Mandy is sweet and will help you find what you like. Ive never gone wrong (veggie dumplings, Singapore noodles, broccoli w garlic). And its open til 10:30 so you can drop by after climbing at Planet Rock.

One of the better American style Chinese food in Ann Arbor. By American style, I mean your traditional American orders of General tsos, sweet and sour chicken/pork, orange chicken, crab ragoon, etc. All that is not authentic chinese food, but virtually nothing youve had is if youre an American. So thats what I mean, but this food is great. Crab Ragoons are the sweet kind, so thats a BIG plus for me!! :)
Generic chineese-american food. Not bad, solidly average faire. Prices are reasonable and they do delivery. Still, would prefer a more authentic resturant with no chop-suey...
I find that if you eat inside your food is pretty good. And if you do take out that sometimes its cold and so terrible that I end up throwing it away. I find that for the most part this is not the place to go to when ordering food to go.

Have been down on the Chinese options in Ann Arbor for a while, especially with Middle Kingdom winding down and not wanting to drive across town for Great Lake on Carpenter. Most of the rest of the Chinese food in the west stadium area is pretty horrendous, in my opinion, so i was hesitant to try the unassuming restaurant in a strip mall with a generic looking sign. Maybe it was low expectations, but I have to say this was some of the best Chinese Ive had in Ann Arbor and definitely the best quick Chinese by far. Some of the dishes were a bit generic, but the Hot & Sour soup, Szechuan pork, and the Lake Tung Ting Shrimp were great. Fresh ingredients, well-cooked shrimp (rare in A2 chinese), and absolutely great service left me wanting to go back and try other stuff. Overall the food is somewhere between above average and very good, but that places it miles above its other competition.
The staff was nice but the food proved that there is no good Chinese Food in Ann Arbor. Sweet and Sour chicken was soggy with no vegetables and they didnt give us any fortune cookies. I feel very unfortunate.

Dirty tables, dirty utensils and the cashiers counter. We specifically said no meat or seafood but were served with shrimp. When we told the server she took it back removed shrimp brought back the same thing. No apologies or sorry nothing.
We have been going here since they opened and have been very happy. The owners are the nicest people we have met and they always take good care of their customers. We wouldnt go anywhere else for Chinese food.

2021-05-07Delicious food!! We grabbed some of the lunch specials and all of them were great! I can’t wait to go back! All portions were generous and for a good price. I think the standouts for me were the general Taos chicken and the spring roll. I would highly recommend China King.

2022-06-27This is a regular spot for work lunch and take home dinners. Always on time, responsive on the phone and they are always smiling. The crab Rangoon are fantastic and you cant beat their fried chicken wings (trust me). This is a great Chinese option for anyone in the area.

2022-07-27I ask for chicken fried rice with egg and no Yoke. Its really good. They pack it in there. The chicken and egg are always so clean looking. Very fast and efficient service. Covid safe, because nobody eats in there. Deffidently better than a lot of other Chinese food in the area.

2020-12-25The food here has always been good and the owners are nice. Also, they sell Americanized Chinese food like nearly every single Chinese takeout/restaurant in the United States. Its safer to expect that Chinese restaurants such as this one is serving the Americanized version of the Chinese food, that has been around since the 1800s, rather than expect authentic cuisine. It never hurts to ask if they can make authentic foods either. I ask them to make me ma po tofu all the time, which isnt on the menu. delicious.There are reviews complaining about the long wait times when they literally chose to get Chinese on Christmas Eve and during prime dinner time too?? Wait times during regular days are good. Usually takes around 15-20 minutes. Also, saying that youre supporting local after demanding a refund while still expecting to get the food you ordered? Yeah, alright. Anyways, food here is good and prices are average. Been eating here since the new owners took over years ago and I see how busy they get during Christmas time.
