Chopstick House in other cities:
Finally! A Chinese restaurant worth ordering from. It was to say the least sad that they cant open for dine in due to staffing issues. Its worth the delivery or takeout!.... UPDATE... These are good people with great food someone please apply for a server position so he will open up the dining room even if a couple days a week!😁
My favorite Chinese restaurant in SE Michigan.9/2018 update: we were in town so we decided to meet with friends for lunch. The lunch specials were reasonable -- it included individual appetizer, soup, and bottomless hot tea along with the entree. I ordered the Shrimp with Garlic Ginger, my friend ordered the Shrimp in Lobster sauce. Everyone said their meals were excellent. The service was also excellent.
My family owns a restaurant in the area, and we close early on Sundays. Thats the time we like to try new local places to eat for our family Sunday dinner night and we decided to try the Chopstick House. The service was great from the phone call to the pickup (its carry out only). Food was delicious and the family was happy. GOOD job to this local, family owned business! Well definitely order again. ;)
Excellent customer service and the online ordering is great HOWEVER this was probably the worst Chinese food Ive ever eaten. Pepper Steak did not resemble other takeout restaurants. There was no gravy and it was extremely bland. Almond chicken dinner with chicken fried rice was unseasoned and very beige in color. Too much coating on fried shrimp and also bland. I couldnt bring myself to try the egg roll. This meal was definitely a miss!!🤢🤢
Bland, bland, and bland. Was very disappointed with the taste of the shrimp lo mein and sweet and sour chicken. Wanted something close to home, but Ill take the drive to Westland next time for good Chinese food. Gave them 2 stars because the food was hot and portion was decent.
1st off I want to say Josh at the front desk taken your order phenomenal very customer oriented very patient and friendly. Awesome job Josh. When ordering for everybody in my family a family of 4 got alittle confusing but Josh was great. Loved the food. We ordered 3 general tsos combinations and an Orange chicken combination great price generous portions. Thanks Chopstick House. 5 star
New to the area, i have tried a few local chinese restaurants. i have found my favorite! i ordered 2 different soups, 3 different entrees and 2 appetizers. all were spot on! flavors and spice levels exceeded my expectations. the prices were comparable to the other restaurants i have tried. the quality of everything was superb. the portions were smaller than other places BUT, flavors and quality made up for the portion sizes. 👍👍
Their food has always been really good, albeit not the cheapest. We have been regular customers for years and almost always ordered the same things. The last few times we ordered, our meals were messed up in some way. On the most recent trip, the food was completely wrong and not at all what we ordered. We were a bit fed up and requested a refund over the phone because we were exhausted and had two sick kids so we didn’t want to drive back. The owner essentially yelled at me and told me to forget a refund unless I drove it back. It was about $40 so I did it, but after the way she talked to us, I can’t imagine we will return.
I literally had bugs in my food. It was probably winged carpenter ant. I wish I had taken a picture, but it grossed me out too much to even look at it. Please stay away from here if you are not ok with this. Also it did seem like some of my orange chicken was burnt. Its possible it was just the bugs I was tasting. And the pork/shrimp egg roll tasted very fishy, like it had gone or was starting to go bad. Didnt finish it after one bite. For the past week Ive been contemplating on whether I should write this review, and I decided I cant let this go. I want other people to be aware if they do order from here. The general tso actually tasted alright though. By far not the best, but not terrible tasting.
The best Chinese restaurant in the area hands down. Probably the best Chinese Ive had from a take out place Ive ever had. I recommend this place to anyone that will listen to me. Their website is excellent for delivery. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is that they cant process cards through their website and you have to give your card to the delivery driver to scan through an app on their phone. But thats a minor inconvenience.
Have always had excellent service until two weeks ago. Called for takeout and then received a call that my order was ready to pick up. Then the driver came and did not knock on my door. The restaurant then calls me and say the driver is at the door when hes sitting in his car, never knocked. After all that, they delivered the wrong other and had the audacity to blame us for all their inaccuracies.
Our first time ordering, the spring rolls were the only item I enjoy, everything else was down hill, In my many years of patronizing Chinese Resturant’s, never was I so disappointed in the preparation of sweet and sour chicken, with the running red sauce, chicken that was so doughy and tasteless.First time ever having shrimp fried rice with vegetables in it along with 3 different sizes of shrimp, shrimp egg Foo young was burnt and over cooked!Shrimp Rangoon was interesting as well!I have never did a review on any Place where I felt strongly that I should have been paid to eat their food!Never again is my promise instead to Not ever go to this business again. This was $43+ Dinner disaster expense, lesson learn!
I have ordered take out on several occasions and it has always been hot, fresh and good. I dined in and had a very unfavorable experience. Besides getting the order mixed up my lunch arrived cold, the shrimp did not look like they were cooked properly and I was concerned about consuming them. At the bottom of the bowl of the complimentary bowl of fried won ton chips placed at the table was 2 chips that had a reddish sweet and sour looking sauce on them, it was very obvious in my opinion that they were reusing food. I told the waitress what happened and she made up a story maybe some sauce accidentally fell into the bowl of chips at the take out counter ??? This made up story by the wait staff absolutely made no sense. Im just so appalled and in disgust, I wont ever return.
Ordered their mooshu chicken, aka a Chinese taco. So delicious and healthy! Stir fry veggies, egg, wrapped in Chinese tortilla, feel free to add some rice too! 10/10 would recommend. My hands, eyes, and mouth were quicker than my camera thumb. Next time Im back, Ill edit my review with pictures!
Ive ordered takeout a few times from here. From someone who is used to SF-Chinatown-caliber food, this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Canton area. The food is not overly greasy, has great taste, and is the closest to home cooking that I could find. There are a wide assortment of dishes to accommodate a range of palates. Prices are a little higher than other local Chinese restaurants, but the food quality definitely makes up for it. Ive bounced around 4 or 5 other Chinese restaurants in the area, and this is for sure my winner, at least for take-out. I just wish they had salt and pepper fried calamari!Update: They do have salt and pepper fried calamari! Its a delicious appetizer on their menu. Now I wish there were a main dish option ;)
Had been good experience until now. Been our favorite Chinese. Ordered several items today with no meat and eggs. The noodles had things which we dont eat. The other two were okay. Mistakes do happen and we understand. Appalling is how the guy reacted when I called back. He wanted me to bring the order back to check it himself, even after I told him that I had to pick it from trash. His words were Anyone can say anything and We lose money too! Needless, I took it so they can check it themselves and demanded my money back for that item ONLY, though they spoiled my entire dinner experience. Sad that you want the item brought back as you dont trust your customers!!! How can your customers trust how you operate? Especially at times like these!!Wont be back for sure.
We went here as a work outing a few years ago and it was so good. Over the years Ive visited a handful of times. There are a few dishes I like when I get Chinese food, and I seem to have developed a liking for the tastes at one restaurant over another. I had been craving sweet and sour chicken this past week, so I decided to stop in here Saturday. When I looked the menu up online, it says the lunch menu begins at noon. My little and I were finishing up his swim class and I decided to kill some time at Buy Buy Baby, then, when the clock struck noon, I moseyed on over to The Chopstick House and placed my order. I would have called, but I didnt have an actual menu in front of me and didnt want my order to get confusing, since I was ordering for myself and husband. So, Little Man and I get out and go inside, where the temperature must have been 95-100 degrees. I realize it was warm and we got a bit of a heat wave, but man oh man, get some fans going in there.I order the items I would like and the items my husband would like and get ready to pay and the gentleman informs me that if I pay by cash, I get 3% off. I thought this was cool. I paid with credit card anyways, but it was good to know for the future. He said its because the CC machine charges them 3% per transaction, so if they dont have to use it, they pass the savings on to the customer. They have a medium size aquarium, with clownfish, a pufferfish and other tropical fish and my little guy sat on the bench and watched them. Its pretty. Our food came up pretty quickly, maybe 10-15 minutes. And it was wrapped up all secure in a plastic bag. And we went home to eat. When I got home, we opened up our food and everything was just right. I ordered the lunch option for sweet and sour chicken, which comes with wonton soup (my choice), spring roll (my choice) fried rice (my choice) and the tempura battered chicken and some veggies and the sweet and sour sauce on the side.Hubs got the lunch portion of sesame chicken, which came with egg drop soup (his choice), spring roll (his choice), fried rice (his choice) and the sesame chicken, which had a bit of a kick to it.All of it was very good and put together nicely. And very affordable, at $16 for all that food, not bad.
My new go-to for Chinese. I really love and appreciate the online ordering. The food is always good, and hot. And when you ask for spicy, this is one of the only Chinese places in the Plymouth/Canton area that actually puts some spice in their food. The combos are a super great value and I looove the option to pick two different things to go alongside the entree. And they listen to me when I ask them to cut my chicken into smaller pieces.
Just ordered from them again, the food was so spicy I couldnt even eat it. Spent a hour trying to get the burn out of my mouth. I ordered mild spice and it came way to spicy it was ridiculous. My beef skewers were also burnt.I order from Chopsticks all the time and the quality of food has diminished dramatically. Orders have been wrong, food has been extremely sweet or not cooked enough.
My girlfriend and I drove out of our way to pick up our order from this place and we were both very happy with that decision. During a time of craziness, in the world, it was nice to still have an option for great food. We had the sesame chicken, beef sticks, veggie lo mein noodles, crab rangoon, egg drop, and wonton soup. Yes, thats a lot of food for two people but we are stuck at home and need to survive, lol. The food was all around amazing. The sesame chicken was the best Ive ever had, crispy and fresh! Once life gets back in order this will be our new place to dine in.
This is our go to place for Chinese food.Very vegetarian friendly. They have different kinds of imitation meet (soy based). some variety other than just tofu and frozen veggies. They have weekday lunch special, very economical and perfect size portions. comes with soup, spring role, rice and gravy. very good. The staff is generally friendly and nice, except that one person LOL, if she is not serving you, you are lucky.. but most of the time I do take outs. so no problem. The owner is really nice.
Food is great, lunch specials are the best anywhere that Ive been, and the service is top-notch. They allow you to request no MSG in the food, and Ive never had a dish here that I disliked. My family often orders carryout form here. Protip- the bill is a bit cheaper if you pay in cash.
Man, I REALLY wanted this place to be good because its close to home and they deliver. It wasnt. I only had the Almond Chicken but it was absolutely horrible, it was tough and not the consistency of chicken. For the price they charged we expected the portions to be bigger, usually when we get Chinese there is enough left for another meal. I honestly think I could have gotten better Almond Chicken in a frozen dinner :(
Visit the chophouse today. I was greeted in a polite manner and seated to my table. The waitress took my order and she was very cold. Normally when a waitstaff greet a customer its usually a warm friendly experience. For me, I did not experience that whatsoever. After placing my order. The food came out and I ordered Curry chicken. I noticed no fork was on the table. I waited seven minutes for her return. By that time my food was cold. She asked me if I want to carry out container. I said to her that there was no fork on the table. After she was giving me my fork. She never came back to check up or me. There was a older couple across from me. Which she waited on and I noticed she took care of them very well. It was pretty evident that I did not get the same service what I paid for. Also she help them with their food in the carryout container. As for me, she put the carry out container on my table with a plastic bag. I did not make a scene Instead, I wrote letter to the waitress how I was treated. I let her know I was not going to be tipping her and I would never return to this restaurant.
Wow! Has this place gone downhill! New management? New cooking staff? Don’t know. Singapore noodle: bland. Seasonings WAY off. Noodles: dry and undercooked. Meats and shrimp; bland and overcooked. Hot & sour soup: like water. This used to be our go-to for Chinese. This is the third VERY disappointing meal in a row, and one of more than a few over the last couple of years. Too bad. Was great and convenient. Now it is off our list.
Went & picked up. Ordered lunch but was told since holiday, no specials. Almond chicken so dry couldnt eat. Cashew chicken the same.. paid extra for fried eice..got white. 30 min later they delivered fried rice. We eat here alot..last couple times, terrible food. We are done.
I was on my way home as KFC was closed??? Thinking that would come back out later and get some takeout from a Chinese restaurant in Wayne. So Im passing Chopstick House and I decide to get something from there and save myself a trip. So I decide to go in and order i ordered pepper steak and asked if they could dice the vegetables as some places make them to large. Sooo the individual stated that we can do that this time because we arent busy! But that i should not expect this in the future! Its not like Im a regular did I mention I was gonna go to my Spot in Wayne? I was taken aback by this communication but I didnt say anything as I learned long ago you dont upset people that have charge over your food 😄😄. The food was ok - suffice it to say I will take the time in the future and drive where they dont mind giving you what you pay for. Mind you they have a big sign outside thanking customers for their support during these times. SMDH
I am so happy we finally found a restaurant near us that has good quality and flavorful Chinese food! We have only gotten takeout but it is reasonably priced, the portions are big and everything I have tried so far has been delicious. The scallion pancakes are phenomenal and the chicken and seafood dishes that we have tried so far have all been really good. I crave food from Chopstick House!
This place was good the first couple of times. It seems something is always off with our order. This last and I mean LAST time I ordered Mongolian beef and I got literally a bed of onions and very few scraps of tough beef. The manager and I assume owner tried to spin it on me saying I should know what I had ordered or something like that. It was hard to understand him and I finally just hung up as he offered zero apologizes or attempt to fix anything. In the end I’m out $50 and he’s out a customer.Heads up when you order their Mongolian onions, er um “beef”
I have ordered several times, and was happy. I ordered delivery every time, and although the wait time was a little long, my food always gets to me hot and fresh, which is, to me, more important than getting it 5 minutes quicker.Food tasted great. Other than that not much else to say. Im actually trying to order from them right now, but I keep getting a busy signal when I call. I guess they must be pretty popular.
I normally dont do reviews of restaurants but this mess I ate was worth my comment. First thing: They dont have combination platters for dinner only lunch. Second thing: I ordered two things sweet and sour chicken and beef fried rice and my total was outrageous. Thirdly my order was placed in a box and SAT for over 10 mins after it was placed there because the worker was on the phone (non business related). I can go on and on but to make this short. You should not judge a book by its cover but my food smelled bad and I tried it anyway and it tastes just and it smelledSweet and sour sauce was cold and raw onion and green pepper was placed right on top of sauce. NO THANKS AGAIN!
I never write reviews, but I feel my experience with Chopstick House deserves a positive review. Delivery time was less than 20 minutes, and the delivery guy was very nice and sweet. Food was outstanding! The General Tsous chicken was crispy with no spice (which I requested), and the fried rice had deep flavors. My crab rangoons were very clearly fresh and hot. Prices are very reasonable, even for a delivery charge and tip. Overall, a true 5 star experience with Chopstick House, especially as a first time customer. Highly recommend them, especially for delivery.
Always delicious! Ive been eating here for 3 years and have NEVER been disappointed with either take-out or dining in!!! I used to go to Sze-chaun for almost 30 years until something changed now I only come here! The staff is always pleasant. I do think people (customers) need to be patient sometimes Ive seen people be really rude and disrespectful to them. There are usually only 2 or 3 servers who also take carryouts and cash out guests and they can get very busy. If you want fast Chinese food go to Panda Express but if you want family owned delicious Chinese food then this is the place!!!
They bring out some big plates full of food. I thought it was just a normal portion of food, but they really bring out a lot of food on one plate. Its enough to share with other people at your table. Just try a little of everyones food. Great time here. Prices seem to be good. The staff are a little hard to understand, there English is not the best, but very nice. They stop by the table often to see if you need anything.
Went here for Chinese New Year 2019. I am Chinese. I heard good things about this restaurant. We were the ONLY table in the entire restaurant. It was surprisingly dead, especially for it being Chinese New Year! The waitress was asked to substitute pineapple 4 times. She even made a big deal that there were no substitutes and that adding pineapple to the dish would be an extra charge. We agreed ok.There was no complimentary soup. When dinner finally came, none of it was very hot, luke warm at best. Like the food had been sitting out a long time. And guess what, there was no pineapple in the dinner, as requested, multiple times.I was so disappointed in this restaurant. The waitress disappeared and we had to even flag someone to refill water. It was just unbelievably POOR service and mediocre food for what they charged. Overpriced. There was just no excuse. The restaurant was not busy, but we were treated like we didnt matter at all.Just go anywhere else for better Chinese food and service.
We have been regular customers here but this evenings experience makes it our last time. I do not know if they have changed hands, a bad day in the kitchen or inexperienced wait staff. Two of us ordered soups and the Sampler appetizer. The waitress did try to explain but not very well, that the appetizer will take some time. We told her we had the time. The soups arrived and were good, however the wonton chips were stale and in crumbs. When we asked for fresh ones, she tried to tell us the chips were fine. After insisting, she did bring us a bag of wontons from the carry out items. In the meantime another person decided to join us and asked that we order the sesame beef. That was also a bit of a challenge for the waitress to understand the request. The “Sampler” appetizer arrived. The ribs were dry and tough and the batter on the fantail shrimp was still gooey. We told the waitress about the shrimp and requested replacements. She brings out another person to look at the shrimp that doesn’t really seem to know what to do and is making excuses for the flour used in the batter. She returns some time later with no shrimp and once again gives excuses. Since we did not receive all the food we had ordered we requested an adjustment in the bill. The bill arrives with no adjustment. The second person is also handling the cash register and when asked about the adjustment she said it wasn’t applied yet – they will give $3.00 off. I said I didn’t think that was sufficient and again I heard the excuses about the flour. Then I had to ask about the 3% discount for paying in cash. She was informed that we will not be returning and will post this experience and lack of taking care of the customer.
Stay away from this place!!!Went there last Friday night, the place looked nice and clean. Sat down and the waitress barely spoke English, which was no big deal we could point at what we wanted from the menu. I wanted lo mein instead of white rice to my food and the waitress told me they don’t do substitutions to which I said okay, just make sure they don’t add it to my plate and get me a side of lo mein to which she answered with “no”, I was confused on why she would say no to that, I was adding to my bill not like I was asking for free food. My food comes and on my 3rd bite I find a HAIR in my food. I called the waitress over and she looked at me like I had put my hair in my food and asked me why I kept eating it then. I was so mad. I had never been disrespected like this at any other place and then she proceeded to tell me she was not going to take my food off my bill. She called over another person and the other person apologized and asked if I wanted to pick something else from the menu. I refused and she said she was going to take it off the bill. This place is a joke.
I was so bummed out. My almond chicken wasnt crispy. .the gravy was terrible. .and the chicken fried rice had peas in it. ....Im so disappointed. ..Im should of called and complained. ..Im trying was more than I spend at great walls restaurant. ....from now on I will stick with. .great walls. ...
The food was ok, but the sweet and sour pork was a bad quality of meat. The sizes were ok but the price was outrageous. We got 1 cup of soup, an order of sweet and sour pork and a side of pork fried rice along with two pops. The whole meal came to $30. I couldnt believe it. We wont be back. I know cheep er places with better quality food. Only eat here if your looking for a rip off.
I thought Id never find a good Chinese place in Canton after trying four of them; seriously the best Chinese restaurant in Canton (dont waste your money at any of the other places). The waitress was super friendly and great :) the fried dumplings were definitely hand made and everything was just great!
My kids and I will never eat at this restaurant again! They have terrible customer service. The food was not good, when I told them they laughed and said it was nothing that that could do for me. I offered to bring the food back and all. It was a poor decision even going there.
Ordered Lemon Chicken first time ever. Looked up recipe on internet. What I got was not the same. Heavily breaded white chicken breasts, cut in big slivers. Very slight lemon flavor but dry. White chicken breast pieces should be browned then added to reduced chicken broth and deluded lemon curd. Should be served with sauce, so you put it over the rice.
I gave it one star because thats the only way I could write a review.... I Googled Chinese restaurants, this one had four stars, so I chose it... And It was absolutely terrible! SMH as I write this, never have I ever tasted something so nasty! I dont know where all the stars came from, but shame on you😒
Yes best quality food around every one around had to change there menu or change the price, good quality food here and the watriss also speak English, only pointing at something might confuse anyone, if youre unsure its ok to ask the watris what she meant or if she knows what you meant. communication is key .And im just saying sometimes a person is going through a lot not everyone can act like nothing happened sometimes its not you its just a bad day already for someone else,Something I will say is they dont care about the workers they lie and talk behind everyones back, are money pinchers and very selfish, leave workers in store all day not aloud to request a day off with out getting hours cutTip ur waiters
Egg drop soup 🍲 was greatHowever I ordered the walnut glazed shrimp 🍤The walnuts were greatThe warm not hot shrimp were covered with what looked like Mayo not a lite cream sauce as the menu saysDisappointed especially for spending $13If you want to give me a credit for another meal let me know pleaseThank you
There was no one in here...I ordered steam chicken with sesame sauce on the side...they had to call the owner to see if it was ok to substitute sesame sauce for brown sauce and then charged me a $2 fee....I had to go in the back to ask for my husbands soup that they forgot...first and last time here
I will never purchae a grain of rice from this establishment again. They charge the most for their food than any other Chinese restaurant in the area and is extremely skimpy on portions....when i asked for a refund lady suggested a store credit.....Horrible and food was dry!!!!! please try golden Chopsticks or Chin express.....
Man if you is a vegitable person this place is for you they have some real fake meat that is to kill for (not animals tho) also for my meat eaters they have some tasty meat ;) p.s idk what kind of voodoo they have back there but those fortune cookies are some real stuff spooky

2022-03-27Delicious food and the kindest people! We love ordering from Chopstick House because the entrees are generous portions and the combinations come with lots of choices for sides (we love their Crab Rangoon). Tonight I was juggling my two young children when I went to pick up my food and the gentleman at the register carried my food out to my car so I wouldn’t have to juggle that as well. They are wonderful and so is their food!

2022-04-04Best Chinese take out in Canton! They have a great online ordering system in their website. The portions are large and the pricing is always fair. The food is prepared fresh and has always been delicious. Steamed dumplings and Honeymooners are our family favorites.

2022-01-09The lo-mein was okay, but the chicken fried rice is the worst I’ve been served. It was extremely bland and had zero vegetables in it, not even onion. I’d steer clear of the fried rice.

2022-05-17Excellent Americanized Chinese fare! Large portions and warm, welcoming service - even when simply picking up take-out. Quality from start to finish. Website easy to navigate and order through.

2021-06-25Edited…. So I originally gave them 1 star. I decided to call and give feedback. The guy I spoke to was extremely patient and polite. He offered to give me a credit for next time to try something different. I didn’t want to call, but wasn’t sure if this was how it is usually made. I will now give them another try.Disappointed. I couldn’t even finish this because the onion was so over powering. I ordered the beef Mongolian. It was 90% onions and some meat. Tastes just like onions. Definitely not worth $13

2022-05-17First time here. Really bad experience. The menu says dinner combos come with two appetizers, but was told they dont when ordering. Fried rice was terrible. Paid $2 extra for low quality rice. I cant have spicy, so I asked if a dish was spicy and they said it could be made without it. It is loaded with peppers. Wasnt informed the dumplings have egg after I asked for no egg on the rice. Dine in is closed.

2022-06-04This has to be the lamest bad tasting Chinese Ive ever had. Dont let the pretty pictures fool you, this food tastes horrible. It is incredibly Bland and has a chemical taste. Super weird. Spent 50 dollars on this and immediately regret and want my money back. If you want great Chinese food, check out China Garden in downtown Wayne. Dont let the ugly little store fool you either, their Chinese is the best around in my opinion. Cheers

2022-07-10Went in to try their Bubble Tea added to the menu, was great and the price is significantly better than any other place nearby. Their food is wonderful as well, cant go wrong with a General Tsos Chicken or Home Style Tofu. I recommend their Crab Rangoon specifically its always quality

2021-05-31First time customer - Their House Lomein and Orange Beef are delicious. However, their General Tso (too much breading) and Singaporean Rice Noodle (strange spices) are really not up to par. We will not order again.

2021-03-14First time ordering from here. I ordered the Mongolian beef and was extremely disappointed. This is the first time Ive ordered Mongolian beef anywhere and had it cooked with onions instead of scallions (green onion). Not only was it cooked with onions, the dish is about 85-90% onions leaving only a measly portion of actual beef. Even the beef that I got was saturated with onion flavor and did not taste great. Fried rice was okay. Will not be returning.
