Comment: Horrible experience....tryed to charge me for a diagnostic charge for a problem that they supposedly couldnt duplicate.then told me the other problem was fixed but when i jumped in it instantly did it again...waited for a tech for 30 min with no show..they drove my new tundra 60+ miles and left me on empty when i picked it up....my service adviser told me it wasnt their responsability to replenish fuel since they were diognosing my problem(when i told them it was only happening when driving uphill).not to mention they returned my new truck filthy (inside and out)....returning calls in a reasonable amount of time was not their priority either.do yourself a favor and go elsewhere....it takes a lot for me to leave a bad review but this is the second time they treated me like this!UPDATE.....the service manager called me after i posted this review and told me that he would look into it and get back to me...3+ weeks later- he never did!

The salesman, Randy, was very knowledgeable and helpful in helping me find the perfect car for my needs and liking. I never once felt pressured or rushed to make a decision in the process. He was very patient with us, and poor Randy, we came in an hour before closing. I also would like to acknowledge Ben, the finance guy, for staying late as well to help us complete the sale. It was a long day as we had already been to 4 dealerships. I glad we came to City Toyota because the team helped us find the perfect match for a great price.

Extremely unprofessional business associates are rude and will laugh in your face and call you broke without knowing your financial situation little do they know you are business owners proudly able to purchase vehicles in full. Comment: I would give this place zero stars if it were possible. Bringing your car here will create more issues than it resolves. I was charged $1200 for services, and the car sound system was completely ruined in the process. To make matters worse, they quoted me over $4500 to fix the damage in addition to the initial service fee. I strongly advise staying away from this place. The most disappointing is their refusal to acknowledge or apologize for their error—too many unprofessionals who have no problem ruining their years of reputation.

Comment: They kept my car from opening to closing(For an oil change). Tried to charge me over 300 dollars for an oil change which sounded very strange. I only ever have my oil changed at Toyota on Geary usually. After talking to the service rep multiple times he stated that the price went up recently and unfortunately the price would have to be 300.I spoke with my regular Toyota advisor at San Francisco Toyota on geary street who told me that the price is actually only 100 for an oil change and that they might be trying to overcharge me. After returning to the Daly City Toyota the guy was caught on a lie and tried to add an extra 200 dollars of misc. charges. They also didn’t put me a new oil change sticker on my window. Also I paid extra for my windshield fluid to be filled and they never did that. They also stated they checked my tire pressure and put them back to factory pressure but they never did. Daly City Toyota is a scam.

We purchased a 2021 RAV4 Hybrid with just under 10K miles!Throughout our experience with Miguel he listened to what we wanted on trim details (and remembered them) and the limitations we faced (garage entry width and $$). I appreciate his candor and lack of implied criticism or drive to move us to a new car that didnt fit our budget. He took my husband and I both out for test drives on the different models and helped us find one that fit our parameters. We tried everything from a 2019 RAV4 Hybrid SE to a super sparkling midnight Blue RAV 4 PRIME in midnight blue. So grateful.Miguel got our Rav4 sparkling for us within hours of closing the purchase so we could take it home on the same day, really outstanding customer service. The whole team - our finance guy too, coffee station, friendly reception was great! This was our 3rd effort at a Toyota dealership and we got the goldilocks sitch right with Miguel. ¡Muchas gracias!

Comment: These people are honest and they care!Weve been looking for a specific used car for a couple of months already and weve tested some cars and had already chosen one we like. We finally decided we would get our latest car on Memorial Day weekend.On a hunch, we checked and found new CPO listings from the Toyota website the previous night and inquired about their availability. It was Sunday, but Lawrence replied to my inquiry before their business hours started. The car was newly listed and no photos were posted on the website yet. He checked the car as soon as he got to the dealer and was honest that it wasnt detailed yet but was in great condition. He even sent photos to see if we were interested.We were supposed to test the car early afternoon but got there an hour before they closed. (We stopped by another dealer earlier to test a different car but when they found out we still had another car to test they persuaded us to stay and work the numbers.) I was texting Lawrence while the other dealer was wearing us down and crunching the number but we finally decided to walk away to go to City Toyota.Lawrence needed to step out of work but referred us to Kate. She patiently answered all our questions and explained the features of the car while we were testing it. We liked the car (as it was the best weve tested) but didnt like the terms initially. But Kate was very professional, sweet, and helpful and we finally came to terms. We came back the next day to pick up the car after it was detailed and it was spotless!Were glad we insisted on seeing City Toyota as we got the car we like on a great deal! Kudos, shoutout, hats off, A+, and 5 stars to Lawrence and Kate! They went above and beyond in making the deal without us feeling pressured! You have happy and satisfied customers in us!

Comment: Avoid this terrible dealership and service station. I purchased my Prius from City Toyota. A couple of years ago, I brought it in for a regular checkup/oil change and to address a safety recall. The service agent, who was assigned to me, left early that day and forgot to call me. I called an hour before the shop closed and was informed that my car was ready. I waited for an hour in the waiting room as most mechanics and agents went home. When a mechanic finally arrived with my car, he left it running and scurried off looking nervous and guilty. I turned it off and was unable to power it up again. My car was dead! The mechanic had given my car a jump, then tried to send me home with a dead battery. Since it was so late and the shop was closed, they were unable to give me a rental and they clearly just wanted me out of there. I was stranded and desperate because I needed to pick up my daughter in the Peninsula (30 min drive). I had to call my neighbor and luckily he answered. The staff at City Toyota did not care at all. The service agent avoided accepting any responsibility and they even tried to charge me for a battery. I have since found an amazing mechanic (Toy Auto in Redwood City is the best!). I did not intend to write a negative review, however City Toyota continues to phone me with annual maintenance reminders, despite my numerous requests to be removed from their call list. They just phoned me again, so here I am. This place does not care about its customers. There are much better dealerships out there. DO NOT BUY FROM CITY TOYOTA.

Comment: Not impressed with City Toyota at all, although the rep was pleasant and understanding with me. Took my 2002 REV 4 in for 95K service on 4/30/24. Waited 7 hours. On May 3, heard a rumbling noise when heater was turned on high. Made an appointment on 5/3 to return to Toyota on 5/6. Seemed ok at dealership, however as I drove home rumbling noise not only continued, but as I parked, my neighbor noticed a pink, oily, odorless liquid leaking from under my car. Back to Toyota on 5/8. Now told cooling system not holding pressure/coolant seeping from upper radiator. Recommend coolant package w/radiator. All to the tune of an estimated $2,654.60 plus tax. Its funny to me because at the initial service the multipoint inspection listed all green boxes marked checked and ok at this time. My car had no leakage when I got there, but somehow developed one after a $2,000 plus, servicing. I feel like another female senior citizen taken advantage of.

So, we proceeded to go to this location. When we first walked in to the door, Alex greeted us with a huge smile, made us feel more welcome and comfortable (Impression is important to see if you are choosing the right dealership specifically if you are about to spend a huge responsibility. Providing value to customers is a must as this shows to a customer that we can trust the dealership). He just asked what particular car we looking for, from there he showed us the show room even give us the best recommendations. He did his best and use his experience to help us with what we really need and accommodate our budget (we seriously compare the prices we gather from every dealership and alex was just the best to beat it). He didnt put any pressure on us he was so open for you to make your choice. He gave us options of deals that are really hard to ignore, but still allow us to see other dealership if we arent satisfied with the models we are hoping to get. After going around we found ourselves driving back to this place to sign the contract.I highly recommend him for his professionalism, his knowledge about cars and negotiation. We decided to sleep on it and liked both trucks but thought the tundra was a better fit . We then set up an appointment to come in . They still charge dealer mark ups to make more money from customers, when they already make money off of MSRP. Their service center misdiagnosed two of my vehicles and would not provide a refund even when they admitted they were wrong. I scheduled to have my vehicle’s sunroof drain cleaned by City Toyota. After they supposedly cleaned it, I poured water to check and it still wasn’t draining properly. I took my car to another shop and they showed pictures and videos that the sunroof drains weren’t cleared. If you want to service your toyota, do not bring it here. If you want to buy a toyota, do not buy it here.

Come to find out they dont have the tire in stock but had to order it and made an appointment for 4/3/24 to replace the spare tire. Mind you I have one new tire and the three other tires have low thread on them. So they gave me options to buy all 4 new tires or 2 brand new tires. So come to find out today, they didnt even order the tire for my spare because I didn’t confirm with them that I wanted to purchase tires. I had a headlight that was out and went to two different places where I was told I would have to replace the entire headlight which is not cheap. I was able to get in same day and he kindly helped me with no appointment. Comment: I would give it zero if I could. This place has disappointed me. Its a scam. I would think twice if you are getting service from this location. My last visit was about 3 months ago. I came for a regular service and asked to change the cabin air filter since I had a bad smell. They told me they could do a cleaning service on the vents that would eliminate the smell and change my filter. The smell never left, and I thought it might just be me. I opened the cabin air filter to just see it, and I found my filter all black. They never change it. I have only driven about 3000 miles, and Im no expert, but the filter shouldnt be this bad when I dont even drive the car as much. I believe this is my factory filter when I got the car. Now I question if they have even taken care of my car with all other services. I have a feeling they cut corners on the maintenance service, so I will no longer be coming here.Update: I was emailed a copy of the service, and they are correct. I never got charged for the filter. Instead, they only did the cleaning service. This is even more disappointing. They sold me a service that was not going to work at all. Either they knew my filter was the issue and sold me the service anyway or never bothered to even look and just recommend a service just to get extra money. The cabin filter should have been replaced at 30,000 mile service as per manual recommendations. I came in at 23,221, then 34,207. They always tell you we did a full multi point inspection. Are techs really doing all inspection cause if they are, then I should have been made aware that something is wrong with the car. I still think they are only doing the bare minimum, or they know something is wrong and let the problem get bigger to charge extra later.Imagine going for a simple oil change, and they only change the oil, and you ask them later why the filter didnt get changed and they tell you well you didnt pay for that. I would recommend making sure you double-checked everything they are charging you for, or you might be coming back for the same problem multiple times.Ps. The picture is my factory cabin air filter. They never checked until I did. The whole point is that I shouldnt be double-checking when you bring your car to so-called professionalsI added a new picture of my previous inspection. Tech pass my cabin air filter as green. At least it should have been in yellow. This is how I know they arent even checking everything. I wish I had my last hard copy to added but Im pretty sure its the same. This is why I think it is a scam. If they are charging for inspection time for labor. At least do the work or leave it blank. I would feel better with honesty and see that they didnt check it, then tell me they did and lie.

When its up, the mechanic (Montas, not sure the correct spelling) brought my car to me and was concerned about my brake system as it barely worked.So I decided to make a test drive, and found out it takes multiple step-ons to get the brake kicked in. I then had to bring the car back again. The service manager had it fixed quick this time.My concern is, with such a big enterprise like Toyota, how could the SOP be executed so freely that only the very last person who picked up my car noticed the brake problem? Arent there suppose to be a senior/ supervisor checked a car before handling it to a customer? Dont tell me the mechanic is that person as the check should have been done before Toyota informed a client his/her car was ready. During the purchase, both the salesperson and the dealerships website displayed the car as having a clear title with a mileage of over 60,000 miles. Little did we know that this marked the beginning of a nightmare.Following the purchase, we faced a prolonged delay in receiving the official transfer documents. When we communicated with the dealership, they claimed they needed more time to process the paperwork. Eventually, we received a temporary operating permit from the DMV, allowing us to use the vehicle temporarily. However, this permit was set to expire in August 2023.Upon inquiring further, the dealership revealed that the delay was due to an error in the recorded mileage. Instead of accurately reflecting 60,000 miles, it erroneously displayed 600,000 miles, preventing the completion of the paperwork.Upon understanding the reason, we made earnest attempts to communicate with City Toyota and their sales team. We hoped they would promptly correct the documents and resolve the issue. Regrettably, they repeatedly evaded responsibility and shifted blame to the DMV, instructing us to deal with the issue directly. Left with no other option, we visited the DMV ourselves.DMV staff explained that since individuals are not authorized to do this, dealers need to submit an application to correct the situation. Additionally, they required the dealer to provide specific documentation to resolve the issue. After receiving this information, we contacted the dealership again. However, they persisted in refusing to resolve the issue, offering various excuses and failing to take any specific steps.We returned to the DMV to seek a solution, as our temporary drivers license was soon to expire, which could have prevented us from using the vehicle legally. Despite numerous attempts to communicate with City Toyota, we have not been able to get a resolution.As there has been no progress on this matter, we do not know what to do or who to approach to resolve this issue? As the Temporary Operating Permit is about to expire, we are desperately pleading with Daly City Toyota to give a reasonable explanation and resolve this issue as soon as possible. We are perplexed as to why they are not taking responsibility for their mistake and leaving the vehicle we paid in full for about to become unusable ????Putting the vehicle we paid full price for at risk? A couple years back I had an absolutely horrendous experience with the sales team here for a new vehicle and vowed to never come back. However, I was in the market to sell my car and live < 5 minutes away so I figured Id get an appraisal on my car and worst case just walk away since I dont need this bad energy in my life.I scheduled my appointment and came in and immediately was feeling bad vibes. My POC said I was a couple hours early but could help me out anyway as if she was doing me a solid. I was definitely there for my scheduled appointment time and have email proof...Now when it comes to selling the vehicle they asked for competitor prices instead of offering me their market value and at best would only match it. NBD since its their perogative on how much they want to offer. If I dont want to do business with them I can walk away.However, as I was walking away they said to me this offer is only valid right now. If you go to the other dealer and they dont offer you the amount you want and you try to come back then the offer is no longer valid. Makes no sense to make such a statement other than intimidation...Of course, I walked away of course...this is indicative of a terrible sales culture at City Toyota. Instead, they could have some something along the lines of if for any reason you change your mind you can bring the car back. The market conditions do change though so the offer is only valid until end of day today (or tomorrow or whatever arbitrary day they choose).TLDR; Avoid City Toyota. If youre adamant on a Toyota the following dealers do not use aggressive sales tactics:- Toyota Walnut Creek (no markup)- Toyota Sunnyvale (no markup)- San Francisco Toyota (the other high volume dealer in the bay. When its time to do the maintenance, you sit in car waiting for almost 1 hour after your appointment time. And then you have to wait another 2 hours to get your car back. My car is new, and this is the first time Ive brought it in for service. I got there at 1:30 and was told to wait in my car and someone would come and check me in. Well....I sat there for AN HOUR in my car, along with other people behind me. Ive been to dozens of dealerships for service in my life, and Ive never experienced such incompetence. At any other dealership, you walk in, tell them what youre there for, hand them your key, and youre out, 5 minutes tops. Why am I made to sit in my car wasting time until someone feels like getting off their butt and checking people in? We counted literally 7 people right inside the doors on both sides, sitting around, talking to other employees, some just walking around. We bailed after waiting over an hour. We live in San Mateo, so there are 3 other dealerships closer to us. I bought my car at City Toyota and had a great experience with that, but I will NEVER take it back there for service! Comment: I went here for a service appointment. I arrived at 8:30am for a 8:40 appointment time. I wasn’t able to pull into the bay and talk to an advisor about my services until 9:32 so over an hour since my arrival because there were a bunch of other people there. Most of them didn’t even have an appointment and I know this because the people that did, the staff would raise one of the wiper blades on the vehicles. (makes me wonder what’s the point of even scheduling an appointment if everyone can just walk-in and be served on a first come first served basis) After finally handing my vehicle over to them, my advisor then told me that my car won’t be done until 2pm. I should note that this was a routine inspection (tire rotation, fluid top off, brake check etc) no oil change involved. So again what is the point of me making an appointment if everyone who arrived before me who DIDN’T have an appointment got their vehicles serviced before mine? Now I know I could have just gone home and waited but that wait time is completely unacceptable, i used to manage a service center in LA and I on a regular basis saw my mechanics perform those exact tasks in under 30mins. I know their teams can do it as well because while waiting in the back room, I finally saw my vehicle finally get pulled into a service bay at around 1:30pm where there was 3 technicians who completed everything in about 13 minutes tops. Lastly to make to make matters worse my vehicles keys were handed to cashiers for checkout. When I asked if they can just check me out because I know my vehicle is finished, they informed me that only my advisor can finalize my paperwork so they can’t do anything until he returns. I did wait patiently for his return but he was nowhere to be found so at around 2pm I asked another advisor if he could close out my paperwork for the cashiers so I can leave to which he did (only took him like 2 minutes). So to put this in perspective, the amount of time I spent at this dealership from 8:30am to 2pm I could have driven from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Definitely won’t be returning to this dealership again.

Comment: My experience at City Toyota on June 19, 2023 was unfortunately one that no customer should ever have to experience.I made the decision to never to come back to this dealership after a previous bad experience but they called and offered a promotion for an oil change and full service so I decided to give them another chance. My appointment was scheduled for 1000AM which I arrived at 930AM only find an extremely long line. Without any updates or explanation from staff of why the wait was so long, I was finally at the front of the line after 2 hours of sitting in the car. With this being my day off, I was very upset and requested to speak to the manager, Chris Hansen. After I voiced my frustration with Mr. Hansen, I requested to be compensated for my time as I arrived 30 minutes early and had to wait an additional 1.5 hours. He immediately said there was nothing he could but that I will receive a text message once my car was serviced. I again requested that I be compensated in some way and instead of being understanding and providing the customer service that I deserved for my time, he told me to “take your car and leave, we will not service your car” as the maintenance workers were in the process of checking my vehicle in for maintenance. I was speechless and could not believe that a manager would ever consider treating a customer this way. I felt not only disrespected as a customer but also threatened by his unprofessional behavior. Mr. Hansen then walked away and went back to his office.Shortly after, I decided to enter his office and kindly requested that my car be serviced as I already waited 2 hours. He then apologized and offered a free service. While I am appreciative of Mr. Hansen providing a free service, our exchange has left a negative lasting impression of City Toyota and I will never return nor ever recommend this dealership to anyone because no customer should ever have to be subjected to that type of treatment.

Comment: Great Service from start to finish. The check in process went smoothly. A technician check you in by asking what you are here for and then take picture and odometer reading of the vehicle. Edwin was scrambling all over the building to find a party who could delete the recurring message. In the end, I was told that I would have to subscribe to a fee-based app to delete the message, which appears every time I start my car. I refuse to do this. Frankly, this Toyota policy is pure BS and it reflects very badly on the brand. It turns that I needed a wheel bearing replacement and Michael explain what is to be done and kept me updated on the status of the repair of my Toyota Corolla. It turns out that parts needed to be ordered so my car had to be kept overnight. Michael provided an ALTO car ride service to take me home. Also they used to wash your car (but pandemic is the answer to all things people stop doing or anything that happens it’s because of it). The sales person Zolzaya, that he referred my husband and i to, was excellent as well. She made sure to go through all of the features on the car in detail. Comment: Terrible service!!! Sounds really nerve racking but Service department knows nothing about cars. I purchased 2 cars from this dealer 3 year apart and took my cars at least 10 times for maintenance. Every time I had ridiculous problems with maintenance! They either forgot to put coolant, or tighten oil cap(almost they asked me to replace it because there was a leak but the reason was technician forgot to tighten the cap!), forgetting tire alignment… they don’t do their job. I took my car to get repaired the steering wheel column doesn’t move in an out last month. And the response was : ‘my car is not equipped with that future’. (Last 3 years it worked perfectly adjusting the steering wheel in and out perfectly!) they don’t even know how to fix basic Corolla… I wasted my thousands of dollars in these dealer. Do not even walk near by them.

He worked with his manager to get me the best possible deal on my Corolla (which I really appreciate especially in this market), walked me through every step of the process and was extremely detailed in each step (helping me catch any scratches on the car, walking me through all the new features of the car, etc). This was one of the best customer experiences I’ve had! The managers were also super nice to work with and I will definitely be coming back to City Toyota for my next purchase. Comment: After several disappointing experiences with the Daly City Toyota location over the last several years, I had given up on them, but I recently decided to give them one last try after they sent out a promotional discount. My conclusion? Avoid this dealership at all costs and support a local garage instead. I highly recommend Faxon in SF! Not only did Daly City Toyota make me wait inside my car for more than an hour before checking me in (and I had an appointment), but I had to wait another 2 hours on site just for an oil change, except they added a lot of other unnecessary services onto the bill even after I told them that I only wanted an oil change. And to top it off, they refused to accept the promotional discount because it wasnt coded to the exact vehicle they acknowledged on the phone when they scheduled my appointment. The staff member literally asked if I planned on using the discount and recorded the exact vehicle at the time of booking. So I was charged the full price, for services I didnt need, and it was substantially higher than most local garages. Dont go here. Ever. Theyve only gotten worse in the last few years. They will waste both your time and your money.Follow-up: Talked to Joey Davies at Daly City Toyota on 03/09/2023 to see if this issue could be cleared up. In a nutshell, he blamed me for not following the directions on the discount carefully enough, even after his own staff had acknowledged otherwise over the phone, and he offered no explanations for why I (and several other customers that day) had to wait more than an hour to get checked in after they had appointments on the books. I repeat: do not use this location for your Toyota service needs. Theres a reason why they have a 3.7 average review score. If you absolutely need to visit a Toyota location for repairs, then choose the San Francisco location, which averages 4.5 and has vastly superior customer service.

Comment: Might very well be one of the worst experiences Ive had at a car dealership.Was scheduled to drop off my car the day before to make things easy for an oil change and tire rotation for my new 2021 4Runner. After waiting another 10 minutes the employees decided to then skip me . . . twice. . . to help the two cars that came in behind me. I then received a call telling me my NEW 2021 4Runner did in fact not come with a standard two year warranty so I would be charged if we proceeded or i could start my extended 30K warranty I purchased early. I told them to make some calls and figure it out as this is not my problem. The next day they called and said there was a glitch in the Toyota system which was causing the issue. If you just do the math my 2021 car with a standard two year warranty should easily by good into 2023 so Im not sure why there was really any argument.When I went to pick it up I was told to go straight to the cashiers desk. They laid out five or six sheets to be signed without any explanation of what was done or any information at all. After a quick read one of the line items stated that I was advised about my floormats on a matter but in fact i was not. When I brought it up they said dont worry just sign and your car consultant will run me through everything when I get to my car. I did not sign and they pulled it back. They handed me the key and told me to follow the yellow arrows to my car. This is where I thought I would find my car consultant to walk me through what was done on my car. After inspecting my car and seeing a scuff in my front bumper that was not marked on the original check in sheet and which i cant prove was them and still no consultant in sight, I was OVER it.All and all every person I talked to or didnt talk to was not helpful at all and very unprofessional. I dont recommend using this place at all if you respect your time, your car, and common curtesy.

Comment: I brought my car in for the annual maintenance service. At 11 am, I was informed that my car was ready except that a nail was found in one of my rear tires. I was further informed that the rear tires had low tread which was disappointing, given I had less than 10K miles on them. They recommended replacing both tires. I was informed they had only one tire in stock, but had to order another one that would arrive by 3 pm so my car would be ready by 5pm. It was not ready then! I had to wait an addl one hour.If that was not enough, when I got home I found that the new tires were filthy. I washed both tires with soap+water, but that was insufficient. I needed to clean them again with stronger cleaner. It took 45 minutes plus to clean the tires. The least the dealer could have done was to have the tires delivered clean, given that I had spent almost $1100 for the two new Michelin tires.Very disappointing service......

I couldnt believe he said that out loud. Then I asked if the refund for the extended warranty would be made retro? Comment: This dealership is a really good one. Roshan Chaulagain is the man!! He is a really professional guy and will make sure you get the best deal in the car. I looked into multiple Toyota dealers before buying my car from him.

Comment: This is my 3rd Toyota. Went to this dealership because I heard good word of mouth for salesman Roshan Chaulagain. He was able to make deal with in half hour. In less than hour I have my new car.Thank you so much for your help Roshan and Toyota family. Comment: (Felt Very Uncomfortable) My Girlfriend and I were greated by the Receptionest at the front door entrance How Can I Help You Today I Told Her I was Talking to a Gentleman Named William last week in Sales I would like to see if he is available today. Sure What Was He Asian? I said I think so and than she walked to the back as I was left unattended as if that wasnt Shocking we were introduced to four other Salespeople who couldnt speak English we felt very misplaced in this establishment. We than talked to this person named Sam that we could barely understand and make out what he was telling us as he was constantly smiling, laughing and misleading on his information about the cars. We felt very uncomfortable.

Comment: Selection is great. Service is spotty as some days youre swarmed and on others you stand around literally telling them youre there to BUY a car.They did fix the nail in the tire for free so the Service Center is legit.
