We took our 3 and 5 year old tent camping for the first time ever. Great site! The girls loved all of the animals, the path for riding their bikes, the playground, the rope swing, and finding gems on the beach. The facilities were very clean and the staff was super nice!
Very clean place with a fun beach, petting farm and playground for the kids. The staff was friendly and the bathrooms/bath house was kept up regularly. Definitely going back.*Only caveat is that its cash only witch can make it annoying for some, but we had no issue with it.
Do not go here. If you do, keep very good records of the money you paid and what you were originally promised. Cash only, no credit cards accepted should have raised a red flag. I believe not all of the cash transactions makes it to the books. In fact I know this to be true. In September I was contacted about moving out on October 1 and if I was going to stay longer I would need to pay another $600. I informed Carolyn that I had paid for the full month and I was not leaving until October 15 when they close. She told me that we did not pay in June. Really 3 months later you are going to come and say we didn’t pay. I argued with her for a week and finally found my receipt to prove that we paid and after a week of accusing me she never apologized for her neglect. We left 2 weeks early due to the terrible treatment that we received from Carolyn. Also due to unkept landscaping and unmanicured trees we had a huge branch fall on top of my rv. I notified her along with photos and asked what she was going to do to rectify this matter and crickets…. Nothing, no response. That cost me another $200 for a new AC shroud. I paid for 2 extra weeks that I did not get. We will not return to this terribly run rv park. Go the extra few miles and go to Groveland Oaks. Don’t waste your money or time with this RV park. No since taking this up with the owner Mikey as Carolyn is her bulldog. Mikey threw insulting words at my daughter, 23 years old who owns the rv that was a seasonal resident there. Telling her to “grow up” when she confronted her about the lawn crew destroying her outdoor carpet. “Grow up”, she is highly unprofessional and quite rude.
Camped with a group in July campsites are tightFriends kids liked the gems on beachCan only pay with cash or check had to drive check over as didn’t trust mailReceived multiple campsites numbers but didn’t mind as it was still with our group people were pleasant but didn’t appear organized as they couldn’t find everyone within the group in computerI went to this campground to be with this groupMADE deposit for Labor Day and discussed sites numbersTried to add a day to our camping so we could deal with less busy sites with a new larger camper as we knew sites were smallWe could reach via phone so I drove thereSpoke to owner very pleasant couldn’t find us in system with our group but said a site was available with our group so we could come in a day early too ( our original site number in July)But manager will look at it the next day after office closed at 5We arrived with our new trailer we were first to arrive out of our group of 8 and similar amount of sites beside our groupThey moved us ok we thought as they played musical site last time. NO totally away from group and near permanent mobile home style sites Office is closed. I knew manager campsite was across the street from where we were supposed to be.I saw her on her deck. I stayed in car and questioned site # and was told only site available. I questioned as I made a deposit in July. But went to find the site. Had difficulty finding it went around twice lookingFound itSite was no where near group and difficult with longer trailerI stopped back at managers site opened door and stood in doorway with my cane and stayed at my car and explained I paid deposit in JulyCould they move someone from beside our group who paid after us to the site further awayShe already proved she doesn’t have issue moving people aroundI was told no. The distant campsite is the only one availableIssue was hers we discussed campsite numbers in July when she took my depositThere were people who had to pay after me for sites next to our groupOwner couldn’t find me in our group but computer showed site available in our groupJust because manager plays musical sites shouldn’t mean I get moved away from our group.I asked for money backHer friend kept telling me where gate wasI was told to come back tomorrow I said no. She said she would mail it ok I leftHusband had to go different direction to leave with trailer Manager caught him and gave deposit and told him that I went on her deck and threatened her. WRONGI was upset yes. My voice was raised as I was talking to her from car and she was on her deckLol she didn’t even see my cane as the car door was in between usIt was her error not even an apology, lying doesn’t helpI was there to be with friends not for the tight campsite but being so far away would NOT work with my ambulatory difficulties
My family camped over memorial weekend and had a fabulous visit! Its a beautiful campground with a great lake for the kids. Lots of areas for fishing. Our kids never said they were bored. We liked it so much we booked for labor day weekend! Thank you so much for the hospitality, we are looking forward to our next visit!
Its an absolutely beautiful campsite. The staff was very friendly. There are activities for everyone, fun trails with peacocks and other animals to interact with. It is a great place for relaxation and spending quality time with family and friends. I definitely intend on visiting again.
This place is awesome. I love the atmosphere at the campground. There is a petting zoo and it was so cool to see all the animals from a donkey and a bull and mini horses to chickens and peacocks. The bathrooms were nice and clean. The water in the showers have too much iron in them but all well. I also wish we would have known that it was going to cost a little extra for the key card passes to use to get in ahead of arrival but at least it wasnt too much. Like $10 or something like that. But overall my family enjoyed our stay here. ❤
This was a great little campground. We were looking for a place close to work that we could stay during the week. Its the end of the camping season so we didnt get a chance to check out the beach or the other things the campground has to offer. We did see some of the animals on the walking trail. They were tame and came right up to us. The owner Mikie was super sweet and we spoke to her on the walking trail. She was driving down the road and stopped to say hello. Carolyn checked us in and she was very laid back and friendly. Its a little different booking since you cant do it online. You leave a message and they call you back. It all worked out. There are many seasonal people here and they just kept to themselves. Nobody bothered us and we just did our thing. We got a grass site and it fairly easy to level. The water was clean and didnt smell weird like some campgrounds do. The camp store had a back wall full of books and plenty of snacks. It fit our needs perfectly.
I just visted someone at the park and it was very clean. No one wears masks but we were able to distance with no problem. Kids were having fun and the ice cream was flowing. They have different types of pads for rvs- short, much longer and all grass. Tents are in a separate area. Also, many full season lots too. I saw about 2 cabins for rent and the animals are a hit with the younger kids. I would recommend giving a try-out and the biggest cement pad pull through would be my first choice.
We go to this campground several times a year when we have tickets to concerts at DTE energy music theater. This campground is clean, on a lake, peaceful, well run with excellent shower amenities and also a petting zoo. We do rustic camping and always use the same site, but they do have RV hookup and even have people that live here year round. My all time favorite campground.
Not as good as in years past. Trick or treating would be fun at dusk so lights can be seen, parade didnt happen, hayride no time was given so we missed it, would have been fun too to do a hayride at night, the ambiance like in years past just wasnt there😏. Did we have a good time anyway sure got away from home nice bonfire and friends. By the way John is a great guy he was quick with firewood, ring with a smile and a wave everytime he would go by. Love your hat John.
The people are nice but it is misleading on the website. They dont tell you that the electric hook ups are just for RV camping. The rustic site we got had constant golf cart traffic going by, with very little privacy, and in clear view of the three huge dumpsters that I didnt want to see. It was not what I was expecting. It feels more like a gussied up RV park than campgrounds.
Booked a lot months in advance and then at the last minute, I was moved to a much smaller site and was told “don’t know what to tell you”. The staff was absolutely rude and customer service was non existent. Definitely a cool area, but there are much better campgrounds in the area that would gladly take your business.
Really enjoyed this campground. We arrived late on a Friday night. The woman in the office was really helpful in working with us to make sure we could still get into the campground. When we did arrive we found that all the tent sites were taken by a large group that rudely spread out. We spent the night in the grass on the other side of the lane with no fire pit or picnic table, not the end of the world. The next morning we walked up to the office to see what could be done. The woman was very apologetic and offered to upgrade us to the upper part of the campground and a site with electricity and water for the same price as the primitive site we had booked. My only regret is that we didnt have enough time to really enjoy the campground itself. It is well taken care of and peacefully quiet. Looking forward to going back next summer!
Very disappointed. The website made it look like it was a perfect place for kids. So not true! This is more of a place where ppl live. Says there is a petting zoo but not really, just have a few animals that look sad and hungry. The beach area and playground is nothing exciting and the store is only open 10-5. One positive was the bathrooms and showers were nice. But never will go back.
I love this place. The petting farm is great, love the new goats. They habe a long path that goes around their lake that its always relaxing to either walk or ride your bike on. The people that run this place will bend over backwards to help you on whatever way you need, such as late arrivals, firewood, suggestions for stuff in town, etc. Be sure to bring cash or a checkbook, they dont take plastic.
Wonderful family orientated resort. Love the compassion of the owners and everyone that works here. My family was displaced a month ago and everyone here had been wonderful about our situation and even worked with us on camping fees so we could have some security until we can find funding for a new home. Thank you Clearwater campground from the Blockno family. Love the petting farm they have for everyone to enjoy. They have the most awesome donkey, peacocks, chickens, bunny rabbits and kittens. Come out and stay a weekend you will never forget.
The owners are real pieces of work, no class, kindness or consideration. The husband of the lady at the desk decided that he could pee on the side of his camper in broad daylight and my 12 year old daughter saw it first and point it out to us. All they care about are their seasonal retirees. If you’re retired, they will welcome you, but if not, I wouldn’t come. I know for sure that I will never return despite the close proximity to Troy. They had NO activities for children even on a holiday weekend. Way to show some effort. They claim they are a family orientated campground, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Its a fantastic camp grounds the people are wonderful and add the crazy animals they have and your in for a wonderful treat great fishing and the whole place is very well maintained I just cant say enough about how amazing this place is and Im a full time camper all summer all over Michigan and this place is by far thee best Ive been to this season!!
Our camper had a window smashed in and while we didn’t except the owners to do anything the woman actually blamed my kids!! Are you kidding me? The glass was mainly on the inside with some on the outside stuff is missing but yeah my kids kicked out auto glass....The sites are close together and if we were here on vacation other then work I would never have come back.
We love this campground. The owner is awesome, the park is fun and for us its close to family while were on vacation. There are restaurants, doctors, vets, grocery stores local and within just a short drive, you have everything at your disposal. Will visit there again and again.
If you like having five other campers within a twenty foot radius of you then this is your place, if you like having loud Harley Davidsons riding through at 3:30 a.m. this is your place, vehicles parked in the narrow roads, then you have found what you like. If you like lights from the next door Ford dealership Glaring into your windows, you guessed it, you found home. If you like peace and quiet and a place to sit outside in peace, then you should look elsewhere. Did I mentioned they DONT accept debit or credit cards but of course I didnt know this until I pulled in the narrow drive with my 36 camper. Good luck

2022-06-27I really enjoyed this campground. The price was very reasonable for such a nice place. The grounds were impressive in size and well cared for. The owner was helpful and friendly. They only accept cash or checks, so you need to be ready for that. My campsite was large and backed up to a wooded area. I didnt hear any road noise. The location is great and there are plenty of businesses nearby. I would definitely stay here again. I already have recommended it to friends.

2022-07-012 nights In big cabin. Very cute and roomy. Slept all 8 of us no problem. They really need a bigger refrigerator for those that do bring 8 people to accommodate food storage, for it is only hotel size and didnt keep food at safe storage temp. Also popsicles melted in the freezer compartment. Best kept in coolers with lots of ice.

2022-05-31Im pleasantly surprised with the actual campground after having difficulty reaching the office staff about reservations. This campground should really be renamed as a summer resort which might describe it better to new people. Maybe the owners are trying to keep it a secret. 8--)The campground is clean, and the utilities work. There is lots here for family fun: lake and beach, stream, petting zoo, laundry, and a pavilion with live music for Memorial Day weekend. If a kids-everywhere-on-the-holiday-vibe isnt your thing you might want to look for something different.I arrived late in the evening of my arrival date and still havent ventured into the office. A map and keycard for the gate were waiting for me. It took several tries to reach them when I was trying to investigate this campground last year. They dont return voice mails, the phone goes unanswered during office hours, and they only take cash or check. Three weeks after I sent a check I got a text that my check hadnt arrived. I explained I mailed it the day I made the reservation and a few minutes later I received a confirmation that my check was in their inbox.Overall a great experience, but be persistent and keep good records for business with the front desk.

2021-09-07Wonderful staff. Wonderful place. Quiet and clean. This place is chock full of wonderful art and it has a beautiful lake. They took this wandering fool in without any hassle on a short notice reservation. My campsite is really cool, between two trees and it looks out into a wooded field, to my left horses play and an American flag waves in the breeze. Come and enjoy!

2021-05-24We stayed for two nights at Clear Water Campgrounds. It was great family fun. The beach is clean and there is a great floating dock for the kids to play on. Nice playground. There are jewels on the beach for the kids to find and turn in for prizes. Awesome rope swing and some animals to see and pet. The owners are accommodating and friendly. Even though the sites are closer together than I expected, everyone is very friendly and helpful. It is a quiet campground of mostly retirees and families. Overall, a great camping experience for our young family of 6. Thank you!

2021-09-20Clean place, easy to find, have lots of kid friendly things to do. There is a fee to get in if youre a guest and the thing I dont like is theres no way to do that from your vehicle, you have to get out to pay which really sucked for me since I had a newborn with me. They could make that easier for sure.
