I really liked it, the location, the fact that there is always coffee and drinks in the lobby, the bed and pillows were great, I will stay in again for sure! Your housekeeping staff really need to scrub the bottom of the tub and clean the sink better. They were grubby.. I bring my own cleaning supplies because this happens in almost every hotel I go to.. Mr. Clean sponges work great for getting the grime off the bottom of a tub with little scrubbing.
Just got back from my stay there. 1 night only. When I reserved online in was 129.00. I have a dog that is very well mannered. I knew there would be a fee for him. I got there checked in so far do good. I signed for the bill at 159.00.During our stay I had to reset my room key every time I used it. Frustrating. I let that go. On our way home I noticed over 200 dollars taken out of my account. I immediately contact customer service. In the time I am doing this I got 1 receipt for 179. I wrote them an email explaining different prices. Explained what online stated, I get email back stating each hotel owned and operated by different individuals. Ok. So than I get another email after questioning this that there was a 50 cleaning fee...WHAT??? IT WAS YOUR NORMAL CLEAN UP. also that there were damages and or missing items. COMPLETELY FALSE. IF SO SHOW ME. I was startled Sunday after I woke up at 5 30 a.m to grab a cup of coffee and found young man dest clerk sleeping on couch near breakfast area. Startled me to death. I brought this to their attention and this was when all these charges were added on. I will not let this go. You will not accuse me of such things...
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Rooms were clean a little updating on the carpets in the common area are in order, but with the last year we had in sure budgets took a hit in the hotel line. Nothing bad. The breakfast was grab and go, nothing spectacular here but again the state is just now lifting its covid restrictions so that was expected and the staff informed us about that when we checked in. Nice location and cost was good.
Hotel is very nice and in excellent shape! The lady with the colored hair at the front desk was very helpful and understanding as we tried to work through a mix up on our reservation. She even gave me 10% off my stay which I did not expect which was a more than fair concession on her end I was very appreciative. However the old, heavy ethnic lady who was at the front couldnt have been more unprofessional and unpleasant. I was called a liar after telling them we called yesterday to change the reservation, and to stop being difficult (I went as far as apologizing that I was frustrated in general and not with them personally, as I also contributed to the matter). I just wanted to get my infant daughter and fiancé into a room as we had been traveling all day... Even after this, I continued to still be met with hostility from the old lady until I showed her coworker a picture of my pair of new puppies.Hotel is absolutely worth $170-$200 a night, service is absolutely not.
This was a perfect stay. The hotel is in a convenient area without being sandwiched among other businesses. There are many wonderful places to eat nearby. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was a good size with comfortable seating and an incredible bed.
Rude frontdesk, ! Btw we are gold star members and from Aspen Colorado in some other hotels. We bring them wherever we go. Dont put pet friendly in your hotel, if you do not like pets. My 2 furr baby is cleaner than you. Besides they brush their teeth more than you do probably.! We just stayed their just because it is 3mins away from our family relatives. Im not surprised of that frontdesk lady wanted her job so much lol. You do not deserve a Star actually!
Came for a wedding left with terrible hotel experience!Booked location since it was close to wedding ceremony however I would of been better off getting a motel since this hotel experience was not good at all. I checked in around 8pm got to room to see black spots all over wall, stains all over couch and curtains. The bathroom had hair everywhere and the sink had caulk all in it. There was so many other issues with room so I felt it was best to tell front desk so I wouldnt be charged later on. The owner managed to be there to tell me since I got discounted room they put me in cheap room. Also pool and fitness room very dirty with jacuzzi being cold.. Im like wow thats the level of service and experience they live up to. So terrible will never stay again.
Horrible. I paid double to be at a hotel with a pool. I called and asked if pool was open. They said yes. I booked the hotel. Got there and pool closed over 24 hours because they needed to clean it. Wasted $200. Ill never be back. Im so mad. My kids cried becau6the pool wasnt open to use which is why I booked this hotel. 😢🥺
Positive: Location was ok, staff was nice. Negative: Breakfast wasnt very good. Poor selection and very carbohydrate heavy. Yogurt loaded with sugar, etc. Room needed to be cleaned better. There was chair and foot stool that were disgusting. They need to be put in a dumpster.
It was a complete waste of our rewards points an money. We had to go to a store an buy cleaners an also a sheet set to put over the bedding to sleep on. Had slippers on the whole time an a towel trail from bed to floor just incase. We requested a late (noon) check out but they called our room at 11am to tell us we had to check out. (A male)
The rooms are small and cramped. Bedding was comfortable. Bath plug didn’t work. Someone’s empty Fireball bottle left under sink cabinet for my one year old granddaughter to find so housekeeping obviously not paying attention to cleanliness. White stain on ratty chair - not sure what that was- avoided at all costs. Front desk clerks were always nice and friendly.
Checked in and then had an family emergency and General Manager Ankita Patel would not give me a credit or a refund. I checked in and went to eat and before I got back I had to leave, never used the room but they have NO sympathy for the customers. I will contact the cooperate office, BBB and post on the University of Michigans website for BAD vendors. You just lost a regular customer. I dont want to give you a single star but I cant post this without giving you a star. YOU DESERVE ZERO STARS!!!
Its a good hotel for the price and the amenities. The breakfast is great with lots of variety. Something for everyone. The pool is clean and the whirlpool is hot. I had to check 4 rooms before I found one that didnt smell. An air freshener helps. The front desk person was very polite and helpful in finding a room that was acceptable to me. The wi-fi slowed down a lot at night. It was barely useable for work at night but was fine for streaming video (Netflix). Speed was better during the day, but not great.
Suddenly wanted $100 deposit if you used cash. The woman working the desk said if its not like smoke I wouldnt get my Hundred deposit back. If I live across the country and they decide to take the deposit theres no way for me to argue it save take pictures cant take smells
Room was clean and pool/hot tub was enjoyable. Unfortunately there were a group of very young adults in the room across from us that were very loud yelling, playing loud music, screaming, banging on the door etc. Many of us complain to the front desk but this continued well past 3:00 a.m.
Awesome experience. Couldnt ask for better service. Wish I could stay one more night cause my girlfriend is homeless. So it was nice to have a place to go for a few nights for her, but she ended up in the hospital and missed being able to spend all of the time with me.
Where to start, the pool ladder was broken and littered trash everywhere. The rooms were disgraceful, the window was covered in white smears, the lamp had electrical tape to “ fix” it. The air conditioner had moldy fries on in it. The couch was worn and torn everywhere about it. Mostly just poor cleaning, and they should do a better job.
Positive: Didn¿t really get to experience the hotel Negative: The associate that was checking us in was incredible rude and didn¿t really appreciate how dire our situation was and was communicating to us with a very unwelcoming demeanor. Didn¿t really have any more experience with the hotel.
Great week long stay at your hotel between Christmas and New Years! Friendly and professional staff, clean and spacious rooms, great breakfast spread and tasty too! Very happy to have a microwave and fridge in the room. Loved the hotel was pet friendly. We felt very safe while there, even when outside walking the dog in the evening. Enjoyed the small sitting/TV area in the lobby. We had hoped to use the pool and whirlpool, but ran out of time. Will absolutely stay again while visiting family in the area! Again, great staff and very clean!!
Handicapped hotel room, one bar by the shower. Very low toilet seat with no bards next to it. Dont know how they call that handicapped accessible. Phone in the bathroom but no instructions to dial out. Thought that was good idea though. Bed was a high top and hard for Dad to get into. Night clerk was just there, he wasnt unfriendly, just not he wanted to be bothered.Room was clean, bed was comfortable. No TV because of a storm. If it was just me I would go back but cant take dad back.
Friendly staff and very accommodating. Remind your family and friends to stay here. We had our wedding party stay and they did a great job. They handed out our gift boxes without complaint and made sure to get our family members into their rooms as quickly as possible. They were short staffed but worked hard and fast to get rooms ready.
Not happy with my recent stay. They booked a guy for the room that I was staying in. While I was asleep (around midnight) the guy came into my room because they had given him a key that had access to my room! This was a scary experience for a girl in her twenties who was staying alone for a business trip!
Apparently someone was patching drywall all over this hotel and never came back to finish the job. I saw this in the pool area as well. They updated the tile in the bathroom and it was uneven so when you sat on the toilet it rocked back and forth. That being said the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the pool and breakfast but there definitely needs to be some follow up on the work being done. The entire hotel was empty they could have given us any room and we ended up in the work in progress room
The hotel overall was nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The problem was the room. First, they were doing construction on surrounding rooms so getting to and from the room we had to step over and around materials in the floor of the hallway. The room itself felt very cramped. There simply is not enough space for two queen beds and all of the furniture in the room. Our son stayed in one of the single king bed rooms and he had plenty of space. The air conditioner didnt work very well. It was always either very warm or cold in the room. The ac needs to be set to turn on earlier and run longer to keep the room comfortable.
This hotel looked great from the outside, was easily accessible, and was clean and attractive inside. I used my AAA discount. The desk attendant was friendly, helpful, and efficient, and she didnt state my room number out loud (which I like for security purposes). The room was nicely done, with the two firm pillows and two soft (which I love), with a microwave, fridge, and great wi-fi. The room was on the smaller side, but it looked beautiful and met our needs. The bathroom shower was also great. The pool and jacuzzi area were clean and well maintained as was the workout room. I will stay here again the next time I visit the area. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Modern key card access for security and interior doors which are safer. Also a well lit parking area where I could put my car where I could see it from my room window. The continental breakfast was lovely, with hard boiled eggs, yogurt, hot eggs and meat, cold cereals, bread, butter, peanut butter and jelly, NUTELLA! and other juices, teas and coffee.
Exterior was fine, and the lobby area & breakfast area looked clean. The staff at the front desk were all very pleasant and helpful. The room was just average. It could definitely use some updates. The bathtub was stained with dirt. The bed was not uncomfortable, but nothing special. If youre just staying overnight like we did, its not a bad experience. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, which is a plus. The price seems a bit high to me for the just okay room.
The rooms are much nicer than they look in the pictures. Its a quite, clean and comfortable hotel. The front desk staff (wish I had asked their names so I could include their names) was super friendly and helpful. Its so hard to find nice hotels that take dogs or that dont charge extra so this was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed my little weekend escape and will definitely be back. Thank you again to the front desk staff when I checked in, you girls are great. The only thing was the room keys didnt work very well.
The only complaints my family and I have are that the beds were hard and the shower curtain rod was falling off the wall. Aside from that the room was clean and in good shape. The pool and hot tub were clean and enjoyable (we didnt use the gym), there was a nice selection at breakfast and the food was good. I cant say enough good things about the staff, they were friendly and helpful, they even spent a good 10 minutes looking for a fan at my wifes request. We will likely stay at this hotel again and will recommend it to anyone who might be headed to the area.
Went to a family event at Luckys steakhouse next door. Location of hotel was perfect for us. Did not have enough time to enjoy the pool or hot tub, unfortunately. Breakfast was delicious, the room was clean and comfortable. Never disappointed when I stay with Comfort Inn.
Very pleasant stay. Room was not fancy but it was clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Reasonably priced and they did not charge for our pet. Other hotels in the area do not accept pets. The breakfast was beyond our expectations with scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, toast, sweet rolls, hot and cold cereal, yogurt, bananas, oranges, apples. Highly recommend this hotel.
If I left it at home away from home, it would be a disservice to the wonderful staff this fine establishment offers. We were greeted warmly by the front service person who, although I can not remember his name due to my forgetfulness, stands out due to his superior customer service. After explaining where our room was etc, he went on to let us know about the pool hours, invited us to enjoy some wonderful cookies and fresh brewed coffee, explained the best parking for our room and generally made us feel welcomed and relaxed after a frantic and hectic packing experience in the dark. (we had a power outage, hence our stay) The excellent customer service continued the next morning with breakfast with the pleasant and cheerful staff and our check out went smooth as well. The room was very comfortable with ample pillows and blankets and was at a normal temperature when we entered, making it easy to get ready for bed without having to wait half the night for the room to heat up. We made use of the Wi-fi and had no difficulty accessing it at all. A very pleasant stay with a great staff!
We had a great stay the staff is great, our room was great, the couch turned into a twin bed which was great sincewe needed the extra room, the pool and hot tub Jacuzzi was nice, only inconvenience was the hours on the pool were off it says it closed at 9 but people were still going down there past that, so we got out thinking it was closing and probably couldve stayed longer, and the hours for breakfast were a little off, the hours say breakfast was over at 9:30 so i had to wake everyone who was all still sleeping and i couldve let my grandkids sleep for at least another 30 min, any time kids are sleeping is a good thing! Breakfast was still going on when we left at 10. Not a complaint. Over all we had a great stay!
This is my 2nd visit with this hotel. I love this location. This will be my spot when Im traveling in this area. The beds are very comfortable compared to other hotels that Ive previously stayed at. Theres a lot of stores and food places to goto in the area. Its not far from the highway.
Upon arrival the desk person wasnt excited to welcome us into the hotel. Once checked in he failed to guide us in the direction of our room. The room was pleasant, but the sofa bed was stained. It was quiet and comfortable. At checkout our desk person was far more cheerful and excited to engage with us.
The facilities were clean and comfortable, however staff was very rude. Once I arrived the lady at the front desk was very obviously agitated. She didn’t even greet me appropriately. She and the other worker who had just arrived did not have on face masks or coverings. She informed me I needed to be wearing one. I told her I am medically unable and she rolled her eyes. The customer behind me, who also didn’t have a mask laughed. Another customer in another room asked who was coughing in our room. I will not be back. It is not pleasant or relaxing when staff is rude and other guests get in your business.
After making the reservation over the phone, and then seeing all of the road construction in the area, I phoned the Comfort Inn and Suites in Fenton Michigan. Cindy, the afternoon desk clerk, was invaluable with directions to avoid construction closed exits. (also, the address did not come up on my GPS). The staff & amenities were excellent! Breakfast was more delicious than any restaurant in the area. We were treated so well and were impressed with the comfort of the rooms as well as the amenities in the room that we extended our stay an extra night! Our 6 year old especially loved the indoor pool! Its been many years since we have traveled through Michigan but we enjoyed this trip so much that we hope to return again next year! Thanks Choice Hotels!
Good. Easy access to highway. Close to markets for groceries and food. The swimming pool could use an update to a bigger pool. It is a very pet friendly hotel but sucks that you can not leave pets in room during cleaning. I am sure if they allowed cats it would be great. The breakfast room could be a little bigger and not next to the front desk. People who stayed at the hotel shouldnt have to eat in their rooms. Cups for coffee and juice could be bigger as well so you dont keep bumping into others for refills.
The room was spacious and comfortable, the price was reasonable, and the staff friendly. You cant really ask for more. My wife had the continental breakfast and said it was great. They are also dog friendly without gouging you with pet fees. We were very happy with our stay.
Clean and up to date non-smoking hotel with all the amenities. The breakfast was good and there is a wonderful restaurant next door for dinner. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I especially appreciated the comfortable reading chair with ottoman since I like to sit up and read before bed. I would stay here again.
We are doing some home improvements and the smell from floor stain was expected to be gone by bed time. Instead the house was uninhabitable, so we needed a place to sleep. Comfort Inn came to that late night last minute rescue. With two med sized dogs, I am so grateful. It was easy, I called to make sure there was still a room at 12:30 am, we arrived 15 mins later and in just a few short easy mins we had a clean, warm room to sleep. The bathroom was clean, coffee was waiting for us when we woke up. The walls are thick enough that even our dogs were able to settle in and sleep well. Dog owners who travel with dogs know how big of a deal this can be. This was not our first stay in this location and will not be our last. Every time it has been clean and comfortable.
I stayed here multiple nights for business. The front desk staff was terrific and very welcoming which is nice when I am on the road for multiple weeks. The property was clean and breakfast was amazing. One of the breakfast persons was terrific and very hospitable. You could definitely tell that she cared about and enjoyed what she did. The only negative was when I went to the front desk one night to get change for the vending machines. I will note that the guest services directory in the room mentions that you can get change at the front desk. I went to the front desk during the night to get change as I was thirsty and wanted something from the vending machines. When I went to the desk there was a woman behind the desk that obviously didnt want to get up from her chair when I asked for change. She said her boss told her she couldnt give change and I had to ask again and mention that it said in the guest directory that I could get change to finally get her to do so. She had a terrible attitude and very begrudgingly gave me change for the machines in the hotel. I will note that the vending machines dont take credit cards so there was no other option and I did not want tap water.
Just wanted to say...We Loved ever minute of our 40th Wedding Anniversary and Our Birthday Getaway!!(Yes we were born the same day) Our first time to stay at this location and we were so very happy with everything!! Our room was Amazing, we so enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub! Breakfast was amazing as well!! All staff that we had contact with were very nice, polite and professional!! We loved it so much that we have booked a Valentine getaway as well!! Thank you!!
This is a nice place. Great value with the breakfast. The breakfast was amazing as was the nice lady that was working in the area. The hotel has nice extra special touches. Homemade cookies at check in desk, and pick your pillow type. We enjoyed our stay and will stop again on your next trip up north to visit our family. Only complaint I had was the whirlpool was too hot for me, not a bad thing, just my preference.
Great customer service was a recurring theme. The care package outside our door with house keeping items such as clean towels etc was a pleasant surprise. We had our do not disturb sign out and it was nice to still receive these items. The breakfast was great. Better than other hotels... for this price a great value. Nice freindly staff...We would recommend this hotel and will be return patrons. Thanks!
My husband stays at many hotels when he travels for work. We were pleasantly surprised when housekeeping checked in with us to ensure cleaning done to our satisfaction. One of the few hotels weve stayed at that actually has a fan In the bathroom (thank goodness). The pool and exercise room seemed nice although we didnt use them. Awesome that we were able to bring our dog with is instead of getting her boarded elsewhere. A clean environment that wed recommend with no hesitation.
We were disappointed in our most recent stay. The rooms were clean, the heater was quiet and kept the room consistent temperature, but the breakfast bar was not stocked and the quality of the food was poor. We’ve stayed at this hotel 20+ years and have never had worse food.
I stayed here this past weekend like I Have in the past. Paid for two rooms. We liked going here kids would use pool and adults hot tub. This past weekend that was not an option do to poor staff that could careless. The top off and reason I wont stay at this location. Is the Assistant General Manager Pat and her horrible customer service skills. Another guest who checked out a few days early to go stay somewhere else felt the same way. With customer service like that good luck. No stars deserved
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was nice and attentive. The room was clean. The jacuzzi was wonderful. It was a quiet stay and the hotel is by luckys steakhouse so that was a plus. We are rewards member so we got to check out at a later time. All around a nice place to stay for a fair price.
Not very clean, not very friendly. Tiny breakfast area. Pool area was not clean. Our rug for shower area was still damp and there was a wet wash cloth hanging in the shower. Nothing appeared to be thoroughly cleaned. Air vent in room and pool were both coated in dust. Informed desk about things, they were completely unconcerned. Overall, not impressed.
This is a very cozy hotel with a great group of employees. No problem getting service even when they were busy. The breakfast was very nice and varied. I love time in the hot tub when Im travelling and was not disappointed with this one. Though the property is adequate, it is not top notch, but the rates are reasonable and the staff makes up for some of the imperfections.
Reservation was not what I had discussed. The pull out sofa looked very used. The bathroom sink was not in the bathroom in the suite. The hallways carpet and elevator carpet need cleaned. The towels and sheets were clean. The pool was nice and the breakfast was nice. It was quiet.
I have stopped here many times for business and overall it is a very good hotel. The rooms are consistently clean and all equipment operates well from the showers to the microwave. The only exception is the wifi, it is very hit or miss depending where your room is. I have had only one bad stay were the power cut out one night for about four hours, but other than that it has always been a pleasant experience and the prices are always good.
Was in the area to visit family. Fenton Comfort Inn is an excellent choice to stay. I had stayed 1 other time many years before. They are doing great upkeep/maintenance, provide excellent service in all areas. I remember how clean the hallway smelled as we entered the left side door to the 1st floor room. That cleanliness continued all thru the room & bathroom. The housekeeping staff had done an excellent job taking care of the many small details that make the room seem comfortable & the next best thing to being at home itself! That was much appreciated! The parking lot pole light on that left side directly across from the hotel side entrance was not working at the time when we checked in past dark. The hotel had very bright lights installed on that side of the building itself. But trees presented some shadows, & the brightness was almost blinding for a few seconds- so I wouldve liked to also have the pole light working. But maybe it was a one-time thing. The actual area of the hotel is very nice, and one that I felt secure in. Theres many shopping, restaurant, & other businesses all along the roads connecting to the hotel. It was super easy access to the freeway from 2 different exits also! Pricing was on the low side comparable to others in area too! Breakfast was hot & done well also. Friendly staff at all hours. Next time we come for a family visit up in that state up north, well definitely make it at the Fenton Comfort Inn.
During a recent loss of power with 14 degree temps, my family had no choice but to get a room as our home temperature drastically dropped.I work third shift, so I didn’t get to our room until 8:30am, after my family had stayed the night. My husband didn’t arrive until almost 11 as my son had to work. He paid for the room on his card. When I arrived, the walk way had not been shoveled or salted and an elderly gentleman guest was attempting to get to his car. We couldn’t use the entrance closest to our room as the door had shattered due to high winds. The room was clean and the breakfast was great and the people were pleasant. After finding the estimated restoration of power was going to be 2:00pm that day, and discussing that our home temperature was already at 47 degrees, we opted to pay for another night and go home that evening after we ate dinner. That would allow the house to warm up. I paid for second night on my card.I then went to bed and got up at 4pm and we left at 4:30 for dinner, we went to check out and made it home by 6:15pm to a nice toasty warm home.Fast forward 3 days, both of our cards were charged an additional $150 to a total of $300. I called the hotel to ask why. They claim there was evidence of smoking in the room.I made it clear that wasn’t possible and asked for the proof and was told it was thrown away and maybe their would be photographs. I asked for the charges to be removed and was told no.In a time of need for a large area in our community, we were charged $500 in total to sleep one night. I’m not certain what you would call it, but I know what I do call it.We won’t be going there again.
We were searching for a place to stay after a mid week run with restaurants close by and this was it. A nice little steak house out front with cold beverages. Price was good compared to other locations in the area, but super clean and updated. Breakfast was excellent and staff was very accommodating. We got there a little late for breakfast, as I said it was good and others were enjoying. We were helped to a meeting room so we could sit down and enjoy as well.
Working in the hotel industry means we always compare places we stay to places we work. Traveling with a dog sometimes means accepting hotels that leave bad memories but this wasnt the case here! Overall it was a nice choice with good standards of cleanliness and convenience, being near a variety of restaurants which allowed us to eat in the room. Our dog was happy, she did not alert to odors of previous pets, and there were some grassy areas for her to explore outside. The breakfast was basic but good, and the staff offered ideas on jazzing up the waffles which proved to be a great success!
A big tip of the hat to Cindy for moving us away from a rather noisy neighbor. Super helpful! The room was great and the location was convenient.A bit bummed about the Covid stuff nixing the pool, workout room, and hot breakfast, but we understand. Thanks again, Cindy!
The hotel room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The refrigerator in our room was to loud. Called the front desk and they came down right away and unplugged it. There happened to be a group of boys there running the halls but they settled in fairly early thank goodness. The breakfast is very simple so if you are looking for more than a bagel or waffles you better go elsewhere. Other than that I recommend this place to stay.
It is a great location. Fenton is a nice little town in SE Michigan. The room was satisfactorily clean. The Young Man at the front desk was not all that friendly but did his job well and effectively. Breakfast was average. Bed was good and WiFi was very good but I did not use WiFi much. I arrived for sleep and it worked.
We didnt have reservations, but were luck to walk in and they had two adjoining rooms ready and available for immediate check in. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub area, the free breakfast was decent. Our favorite was the waffle maker. Free Wifi was a bonus. The location of the hotel was very close to many choices of resturaunts and shopping. We enjoyed our mini vacation. We would stay there again and recommend to other families.
Nice first impression - set off from busy area. Lots of services nearby. Room was clean and fresh with nice decor and comfortable beds. Split bath very functional. Lots of plug-ins and good light. Staff were especially attentive and (Susan) helped me work out a reservation glitch. Husband says TV is best ever for a motel. Nice breakfast selections. At the upper end of our budget but worth it.
We are so happy to stay at such a friendly hotel. Everything is so great there The rooms are clean. The bed are exceptionally comfortable. The Jacuzzi room are great. The pool, hot tub and exercise room exceed expectations. This is the best place to stay. We try and stay here at least once every two months
We had a long, terrible drive leading up to our hotel visit. But, upon meeting the hotel staff and getting into our very comfortable room things became a lot easier. The television wasnt working that great at first, but it was promptly fixed (and was probably a button I pushed). We brought our little dog with us and he was well received and enjoyed by the staff. I felt very welcome in this environment.
Had a blast. Only traveled 45 min from home and only to have a special weekend in a hotel with my kids. They and I had a blast! The room was beautiful, and very clean. Comfy beds. The pool was clean (a little cold) and easily accessible. Also my girls wanted to keep the keys to the room and my knowing those key cards were very expensive I asked the lady at the desk anyways. She said no but asked if I could wait for a moment and she went in the back and found some old cards that were not used anymore and let my girls keep those. They were very excited. I wish I could remember her name.
Very clean Hotel. Their rooms are well appointed. The staff is very welcoming. There is a small gathering area next to the lobby with very comfortable furniture and a gas fireplace. The breakfast is well-balanced with fresh fruit, yogurt, good coffee, etc. Bring your swimsuit for the nice hot tub!
I had recommended this hotel after having stayed here six months ago to our group of 9. We booked three rooms for a local conference. Two of our rooms had temperature problems- one ice cold and ours hotter than the hinges. Long story short we contacted the front desk three times and had the unit re-set from their end. A former employee visiting a staff member came down to see if he could correct the problem. The only relief we could get was opening the window and since we were two females on the ground floor facing the parking lot, we didnt feel that was a safe option. Called about 12:30 am to see if we could get some relief like a fan or something. Finally just unplugged unit and opened the window for a bit. It was like a Sauna. What really grinds me is the General Manager told us that the unit worked fine when they tried it the next morning. Im not a HVAC expert but my sister and I are quite capable and I can assure you this unit was faulty or needed to be re-programmed.Look at other unhappy reviews and youll see how she doesnt respond in any tangible way that would make customers feel valued or feel like they have legitimate concerns. It would take so little on her part to make the customer happy. I will never stay here again. We had a total of 15 people from our area that came down for the conference. A partial refund was warranted for our uncomfortable night when 2 of 3 rooms were hardly habitable. We booked directly with the hotel so they received the full amount. Had I booked with an outside agency I would have had some leverage in getting some restitution and it would have been less frustrating than dealing with Pat. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
The room itself was decent. The employee behind the counter at checkout refused to acknowledge us. A girl vaccuuming went & got her. She yelled (from somewhere that we couldnt see her) if youre checking out just leave your keys and go.Never experienced that at a hotel ever in my life. If youre planning to stay in the area, Id choose a different hotel.
The room was clean, well stocked and is good working condition. The woman who was working the breakfast bar - was a miracle worker. She was knee deep in guests and managed to make everyone happy they had come - provided plenty of food - no complaints from anyone I heard - she is a GEM - look forward to seeing her in November. The only glitch we had was the room key cancelled after the first night - it has happened before - must be a bug in the computer system. The front desk was friendly as were all the workers we encountered. They seem happy with their jobs - that makes for a pleasant stay!
We were late getting to the hotel, around midnight, and the desk clerk was pleasant and got us checked in and to our room in quick order. Breakfast was pretty good and the girl in charge kept everything refilled as needed. Our room was comfortable, lots of pillows (some firm, some soft, so we had a choice!). We would stay there again when were in the area.
We were extremely satisfied with the accommodations, the variety that was offered at breakfast, the fact that the breakfast hour lasted until 9:30 am, the fact that a later check out is offered if necessary, the cleanliness of the room, the bathroom, and the swim & hot tub areas. The cookies are a nice touch too along with the cold water, crackers and oreos, although we forgot to take them when we left. But we would stay there again, in a heart-beat.
The facility was very attractive. Check in was friendly, prompt, and efficient. The room was totally satisfactory, clean, and pleasant. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special. One family eating at the next table put on a display of marathon eating. Their preteen children were in pajamas and barefoot, coming and going while their caretaker gorged herself. The kitchen lady couldnt keep up with food or garbage.
We booked a queen suite that is advertised to sleep 6. The pull out couch can only sleep 1. When we asked for a roll away they refused to allow it. One of our children had to sleep on the floor. The front desk attendants all weekend never said anything upon arrival or departure which was not very welcoming. The day we were leaving the front desk lady asked our child if we were checking out. He said he couldnt answer that question (hes a child) and she became very rude towards him.Housekeeping was polite. Rooms were about a 3 star rate.
This hotel was in a very nice area. It is clean, quiet, and the hot tub is the perfect temperature. The rooms are a decent size and have a microwave and refrigerator. It is very clean. There are plenty of restaurants close by including a Luckys Steakhouse. The free hot breakfast has a great selection including bacon, omelets, and waffles as well as various assortments of bread, bagels, pastries, hard boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt and fruit.
Overall, I had a great experience. The appearance of the sink/coffee area was very stark and not appealing, but it obviously served its function, so no real complaints there. I did not utilize the breakfast area/food due to other plans - otherwise I would have. The area itself looked nice though.
After checking into the motel walking through the door there is a man’s condom hanging over the trashcan reported it to management they did nothing then charge me $50 to my debit card which I paid cash for the room for two nights because they said there was a hairdryer missing and needles on the floor which none of that was there when I checked in very poor management and staff would never recommend this motel to anyone
Pretty nice place for the price. The beds are not very comfortable, for a place with comfort in the name, but all of the other accommodations, were good. Of special note, we left do not disturb tag on our door the whole day and housekeeping was still so kind as to leave a package of towels at our door.
The rooms are extremely small, our non smoking rooms bathroom smelled horribly of cigarettes from what Im assuming was the room on the floor above us which also made the towels stink, and talking a shower made it worse. The breakfast was good but the kitchen staff kept allowing guests back there which was a bit unnerving.
Enjoy our stay, clean, safe, and quiet. Check in was a breeze as we did not get in until 1am. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was good, I would recommend maybe a different variety for multiple day stays. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends. Very nice!
Our room was more spacious than other relatives that came from out of town and stayed at a different hotel. Our swimming pool was also much larger and nicer than the other hotel and this came directly from our grandkids who experienced both hotels that day.The breakfast was very tasteful and abundant. It was better than most of the fast food breakfast menus!Overall this hotel was a very pleasant part of our experience in Fenton, Michigan.
I had an absolutely terrible experience in this hotel. I called at 7 pm on my check in day to confirm that I would be arriving very late (around or after 1 am) for the room that I had made a reservation. The woman I spoke with confirmed that my room would be ready and was very grateful to me for calling to let them know of my late arrival. Upon getting to the hotel I was able to check in and headed up to my room. Much to my dismay, I found a filthy room! Food on the dresser, a bed that had been slept in and a bathroom that was disgusting. I returned to the front desk and let the woman know that the room was dirty. She was distraught and informed me that she saw that the room was designated as dirty in the computer system but she sent me up to the room regardless. She told me that they did not have any rooms available and that I would have to wait for her to clean the room. She also told me that she had never cleaned a guest room before and wasnt trained in doing so but that she would clean the room for me. I waited over an hour to get into the room that I had reserved ahead of time. It was after 2 am by the time that I got to my room and I had to be up by 5:30 am to leave for the class that I was visiting town for. I have never been more frustrated with a hotel stay in my life.
Fair - average. I could hear people above all night long. The floors were really squeaky. Perhaps this is due to an older building? I definitely recommend staying on the second floor if possible. Other than that, everything is great. VERY comfortable bed and I was impressed with it.
We stopped and spent the night at this hotel on our way to Mackinac Island. The front desk person was friendly and had us checked in very quickly. The room was clean and comfortable and the A/C worked great. We asked the receptionist for dining recommendations, and she told us about the restaurant next to this hotel. If you stay at this location, be sure to go and eat at Luckys Steak House. The prices were reasonable and the steak are delicious! We like to take a walk before turning in for the evening and this hotel is in an area that was safe and very nice for walking.
Our stay very nice and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast is free and wow!! Was it tasty! Sooo much to choose from! They have a washer and dryer for their guests, swimming pool and hot tub. Also, you will find a variety of great restaurants in walking distance of this hotel. We chose Applebees. Very good food!
I was traveling from many miles/hours away for a funeral and requested an early check-in, to refresh before the services which i was denied. The room was very run down, the fridge wasn’t working. Once we realized it wasn’t plugged in, we plugged it in after moving the heavy tv and drawer set into an outlet splitter, hoping it would not catch on fire. The fridge made a very loud humming noise all night, along with the rattling air conditioning unit. It was not a comfortable experience at all for the cost. I am not at all someone who complains but was really hoping for a more accommodating experience.
The hotel was nice. The room seemed nice until I opened the fridge before heading out the door and their was food in it. I notified the front desk and they said they would handle it. They didnt offer another room. I feel like if the fridge is not clean what else did they not clean. Maybe retrain your staff about the proper cleaning measures. Maybe they were in a hurry and didnt think about the fridge.
A great place to stay!!!!!! The rooms were neat and clean and quite. The breakfast that was presented was great, always a different item each day. Coffee any time of the day or night. The help was extremely pleasant and helpful. I would not hesitate to refer anyone to stay at this motel.
Not the worst place Ive been, it was the best for the price, not to mention there werent much options in the area; the staff is friendly and helpful; and the suite was relatively clean but damage spots on the walls and the dirty office chair were low points. Could be better, they have room for improvements.
Very nice place to stay. Was there for grand daughters softball games at the dome.Always stay at hotel that allow dogs. So it was nice to have comfort and a clean room non smoking to stay in with her. Fresh air like anyone else. Will definately stay at comfort inns again
When we arrived to register the clerk was swamped and her computer was not working properly. At one time she had 3 people waiting and two holding on the phone. She took her time and took each one with ease and patience. Our room was very spacious. And a nice chair with otterman to relax and watch TV without laying in bed. The price was amazing. It helps that their was a great steakhouse next door.
I usually choose Comfort Inn when I need a hotel because Ive always found them to be comfortable, affordable and clean. However, this one disappointed me because the room was not very clean- there was a spider crawling on the wall and some kind of food smeared on a doorknob. I had booked this hotel room for my son & his wife and was embarrassed that they found the room unclean.
Stayed here for 2 1/2 weeks waiting on a house, rooms clean staff very friendly, and accommodating ,good breakfast. We had our dog and stayed on first floor was easy to get the dog outside. Very convenient to expressway but not noisy, close to restaurants, grocery and box stores.(close enough to walk) safe.
I have stayed at this hotel many times. Kitchen lady was very rude this trip, had 0 personality. Housekeeping was mindless about making sure room was cleaned up before they all left at 1pm. Large wedding party staying the hotel, needed a cot for 1 night. Management wouldnt help out. Came up with a lame excuse about damage to the walls. Someone needs to tell them they are in the HOSPITALITY business.
Two of my adult children and I stayed at this hotel for one night before we flew back to our home. Our room was comfortable and clean. Its located close to the highway so it was easy to get to. The internet was a little slow, but that was a minor inconvenience. Overall, a great hotel at a decent price.
Everything was great during our stay at this Comfort Inn and Suites in Fenton, Michigan. From the moment we checked in until we checked out we were treated wonderfully. The lady who checked us in on 4/6/14 was friendly, helpful and recognized us as a Platinum Member. The room was beautiful as well as comfortable. So many TV channels to select from! The breakfast was delicious but we did miss the biscuits we have had at other Comfort Inns. We also enjoyed the bird house/feeders in the parking lot. It was fun to watch the birds busily making nests! We have stayed in many Choice Hotels and this one is in our Top Ten for sure.Thank you!
I love staying here. My husband and I have stayed multiple times and they’ve never failed to please. Nice facilities, walking distance to a nice restaurant, great rooms; clean and comfortable beds. Pet friendly is a major perk! Staff is friendly and accommodating. The only reason I can’t give them 5 stars is because the internet is slow at times, the last time we stayed we couldn’t get any signal at all
Discrimination!! I have stayed here in the past with no complaints until this week. Normally I am not one to write a complaint, however I’ve tried the proper channels and no one is responding to me via call or email. I’ve reached out to the corporate office for a response and nothing. I went to this hotel to book a suite for my daughter and myself with a few friends. The front desk clerk, which turns out is actually the manager, said to me “ We cannot rent a room to you because it’s against our policy to have a slumber party” . Excuse me!!!?? After discussing with him the added benefit of having little girls watching a movie and passing out by 9pm and it not being a bachelor, bachelorette or even a wedding party, he chose to say “ we’d prefer that over your event. We’d most likely charge you for a heavy cleanup due to crayons and markers, not to mention we’d have complaints for noise”. I don’t understand how this company can get away with turning down and discriminating against an event and/or persons.
I spent one night at this hotel and I was very pleased with my stay. Front desk staff was excellent. The room was tidy and well taken care of. It was quiet and I felt extremely safe and comfortable during my stay. There is nearby grocery stores (some 24 hours) and restaurants. If youre passing through the area, I highly recommend staying here.
Everything about this hotel is pretty much just old & outdated. The whole place needs a refresh. Employees were pleasant, and the only good thing about the stay. The pool room is in terrible condition. Not ventilated at all. Foggy and the chemical fumes were intolerable. There was mold on the walls and floors were grimy. I wouldn’t recommend or stay here again.
We went to Michigan for a nieces wedding. Found the room and accommodations to be perfect for our needs. Friendly staff. Found the room to be a little small for the three of us. Sat in the lobby one morning to read. Comfortable sitting area. Would maybe book larger suite next visit. Overall worked quite well for our needs.
Horribly rude staff with even ruder management. This is the worst comfort inn Ive ever stayed at. We have a two year old and before leaving the room was a mess so we cleaned it up... organized the trash and the dirty laundry. Even cleaned up the crumb mess our kiddo left. Two days later we were charged 50 bucks on our bank account. So we called the motel and they advised someone puked all over the room and it cant be rented. They lie and steal your money never stay here!!!
We stayed in Holly, MI for two nights. The lemon water in the lobby was better than expected. I was also hesitant about the beds, but they were comfortable. My stay was a situation in which I had to check in the first day, and check out/in the next. On the first night I left a book in the room. The next night I asked and they didnt have my book in the lost and found. I thought it was gone, but in the morning before I checked out they had it. It was a book I really liked, so thats good.
Room was spacious with 2 queen beds. Clean and attractive breakfast with a variety of nice itemsavailable. Great to have coffee available in lobby. Used pool and exercise room which were also clean and attractive. The location is good off of US 23 with many local restaurants and stores. Also short drive into downtown Fenton or Linden.
It was a very nice hotel stay for my family and I while having a memorial for our father. We liked it very much but I was concerned about recieving my points for our stay. I rented 3 rooms and wanted confirmation but was told Id know in 72 hours. Then I had trouble. Maybe it was because I was looking for my confirmation on an iPad? I hope it works out. I did sign up for the Internet deal of buy 2 and get third free. We shall see.
This is a really great hotel to stay in. The breakfast is awesome, good variety and great taste. The room has a microwave, refrigerator and coffee pot. The TV is a good size for the room. They have a pool and hot tub which was nice. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
The room was clean and comfortable. I have slept in more comfortable beds, but still satisfied. We had a jacussi room and the bath felt good after a long day on the road. I like Choice because they still provide refrigerators. I always recommend Comfort Inns to friends.
The Comfort in in Fenton Michigan is not fancy, but my stay there was fine. The hotel room was large, clean, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast was a fairly typical hotel buffet set-up; again, not fancy but perfectly adequate and included with price of room, which was very reasonable. I would stay there again if Im in the area without hesitation.
We liked decaf tea in the room as well as decaf coffee. Also liked having trays in the breakfast area...so much better than balancing everything on hands. Loved the park bench in front of the lobby entrance...it was a beautiful day, and nice to read outside. We asked for early check-in and got it. Especially appreciated as we were leading a memorial service at nearby Great Lakes National Cemetery, and needed extra time the day before to find out way around. One minor disappointment...hot tub/pool closed at 9PM. Would prefer till 10PM, even if adults only time after 9PM to keep down the kiddie noise. Beverages of any kind were not allowed by the pool (appreciated that, too), so little risk of adult party noise if one hour longer.Nice stay. Would recommend to anyone, unless you like to party around the pool..
This is the second time Ive stayed at this hotel and it has gone downhill over the past 14 months. As I was bringing in my luggage in the side door, there was a strange man outside that tried to follow me in - I went around through the front door instead. A second instance: In the middle of the night, someone was walking the hallway trying a key in the door locks of every room.
Had a wonderful time at the hotel. The staff was very friendly. The beds were extremely comfortable. The room was clean. The hotel is pet friendly and we brought our dog. Lots of stores and restaurants close by. The food for breakfast was tasty. We wod go back. Many nice lakes in the area and parks so there is lots to do.
Very nice rooms. They need a little updating and maybe find a better option than duct tape to hold parts in place. A big positive is that they have regular DirecTV not an in-house cable system so it functions like home. The channel I leave it on when on off the TV is the one it is one when I get back.. I would stay here again for sure.
Normally when I stay here its fine this trip I bought my family and had some issues with the room, Corrected eventually, pool was good for the kids, breakfast was very nice and an attendant there to help. The counter experience was different, check in was great, check out was average. I will stay here again, I hope Fenton gets another hotel Ill try that one out. Closer for my needs for now.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Room, bathroom, refrigerator, kitchenette, furniture were all nice, tidy and clean. Bed was very inviting and comfortable, lots of pillows and extra blankets were available in the room.Hotel was busy and full. A snowy winter night for Valentines Day. Parking can be an issue with snow accumulation and the steak house next door. Those patrons tend to park in the entrance drive to the hotel.
The outside and inside areas were pleasant to the eye. The room was large (King Bed room), clean, and comfortable. The front staff was GREAT!Location was wonderful. Walking distance to many stores and restaurants. It is a bit hard to find because there is only one sign at the exit of HWY 23. Once you take the exit and make the turn the sign directed, there are no more signs. All and all, a great place to spend the day and night.
This hotel was great. It was a little difficult to find from the main road, but the signage helped. The staff was willing to help. I stayed in the handicapped room which was well supplied. I found that the shower seat was a little close to the wall for me. One leg did not get out of the tub easily, but then, it does not have the mobility that most people have.

2022-01-28I am a motel/hotel auditor. I look for ways to save energy and water and improve comfort and safety. I would never recommend this place to anyone who cares about their safety and comfort. The first night I noticed blood drops and a bloody footprint on the carpet. They tried to say it was wine but I got a positive test for blood and called police. I was moved to a room next to a noisy ice machine that always ran. The room temperature went from too cold to too hot every time you left and returned. Stupid motion sense system that other hotels got rid of long ago. Water is hard because the softener they have is not in service. I removed the smoke detector to show the maintenance man it was six years past replacement date. Next day they asked me to leave and charged me an extra $150 for removing the smoke detector. Owner refused to remove the charge so I had to dispute it. I was charged 103.90 the first night and after they moved me they said the room rate was the same. When I checked out I discovered they had charged me an extra $140 for the next nine nights. I should have been notified about rate change ahead of time so I could decide if I wanted to stay at the higher rate. Everyone who stayed here should check their credit card statement. I wanted to make this a safe, comfortable energy efficient hotel. Bad owners made that impossible.

2021-12-18We spent 2 nights and found it very very nice. Laura was especially nice every morning serving breakfast even remembering our dogs name! Room was clean with plenty of towels and drapes, etc. Every desk clerk was extremely helpful and cheerful. The only thing I would change is the night clerk. She was very nice but smelled so strongly of smoke the whole lobby smelled. She went outside to smoke but the smell followed her back indoors.

2021-12-21Positive: Super clean. Breakfast was real good considering Covid. 2 choices of Breakfast sandwiches you could heat up, waffles, bagels, yogurt, cereals, juice, coffee and milk. Room was clean. Huge TV. Quiet Location. Hotel employee was great at the front desk. Gre Negative: We stayed 2 nights and the room was not automatically cleaned. You have to ask, that consists of hanging a door card and check what you want done. Bed will not be changed but they give you fresh sheets and towels. Will empty trash etc. Just ask.

2022-01-26This hotel has terrible staff. I was greeted by a young man who treated me like a nuisance. When I brought this up to someone the next day nothing was said or done to correct this or make me feel any better about the situation. Hours after addressing my issue, I was in the lobby getting coffee when Erin and said staff I reported to were discussing the instance, which is fine- I understand that staff have to pass along information. But it was the way I was spoken of by Erin. She said that I am overly sensitive and if I came for warm fuzzy feelings I came to the wrong place, I can swipe my card and get a key but not to expect anything more. This is a hospitality business, and I was treated like the problem that the staff have to deal with rather the paying guest.

2022-05-07Find somewhere else to stay unless you enjoy being charged additional fees after checking out without any reason from hotel. This is the first time I’ve ever been charged an additional fee upon checking out of a hotel in my entire life.

2021-11-07Lobby was clean and smelled fresh. Jacuzzi room very clean and in very good shape despite it looking out of date. Much cleaner than some new modern hotels I have been in. Whomever runs this place has very high standards and it shows.
