Positive: Cleanliness It was fairly clean. Negative: It was under renovations. It did not have a hot breakfast as indicated. They gave us a a lunch bag with a bottle of water a Jello fruit cup and a prepackaged stale pastry. They had no wifi on top of everything else. Staff were no help.
We needed a fast hotel room so we booked the comfort inn, room 233. elvis, was very helpful with check in & made us comfortable, was upset he wasn’t here for check out…. first, the whirlpool had hair & plastic in it. the shower curtain has mold & when the bath filled up, the foam was grey at the top. left that alone. then i was getting ready to check out & was taking off the pillowcases to be helpful…. and there was blood & stains on every single 6 pillow. i’ve been to 10+ hotels & there’s never been one this disgusting. i would never expect anything like this from somewhere in macomb to be honest.
It was overall good price for what we got. It was in a good location. We had items taken from the room after it was clean but the front desk told us to come back the next day but knew we were leaving the next day so he wouldnt have to deal with it and it wasnt enough stolen to get law enforcement involved just about 80 dollars worth of make up.
I wanted to get away for a day. I pacifically called to find out if there was a hot tub in the room. Talked to Elvis and booked a room. Showed up that night at 7pm had dinner and came back to a TV that didnt work after calling the desk several times I got nowhere. While waiting for the TV it was discovered my hot tub would not drain. I called the office to find out with estimated time was and was told there was a shift change and that person knew nothing about it. By midnight and 7 calls to the desk I was upset. By then I went to bed the next morning i talked to Dominic and he called Rosy over the phone. Rosy said she would call me on Monday. That never happened. I called and everytime Dominic was rude and said sorry I dont have Rosy scheduled. I then made a formal complaint and a week later Rosy called me but claims she never received any messages to call me however the very first conversation I had with her she said she would call me Monday. Rosy proceeded to tell me that her boss Deborah Jaffary would call me. Again a week later no one calls me. Hallways reeked of weed and their customer service is horrendous.
Very unprofessional I feel like i was stero typed right at the door. Very tired from traveling I stopped the room for the second time . When I tried to check in I was told my form of payment wasnt accepted which was very hard to understand because this is what i used previously...there was no atm so i could pay with cash .And i was told if i pay with cash there was a 250 dollar deposit I said wow why so much for a motel he said because ppl steal the sheets and tvs.... I ve checked in several room before and never paid just a high deposit and being told i was going to steal...I was very offended and i felt like he making it really difficult to check into a room because of my race ...I will not be returning
Check in was a bit cumbersome. We ended up making two trips to the front desk because out keys wouldnt work. There was a very nice gentleman who was helping out for the holidays who came with us to the room just to make sure the keys ended up working. The whirlpool room was pleasant.
The hotel in need of clean up outside, landscaping overgrown. The lobby was clean and sufficient. We were greeted well, very nice employees. Elevator was not working right, it would skip our floor. Room was small but clean, even though there were stains on the carpet. Beds were very comfortable. Overall stay was good.
I booked a block of rooms for my wedding about 6 months in advance. The week of my wedding the hotel informed me that the continental breakfast was no longer available because it was under construction. But they failed to explain that to me Before my wedding party all booked their rooms there. The website has no disclaimer that the breakfast was unavailable.I booked a suite for my wife and I for 2 nights. When I arrived there the front desk told me that I only have a king room and it was still dirty and that I will have to wait for it to be cleaned up. They finally got that settled and I chucked into my room. The rooms are very odd, they have no wall separating the bathroom to the bedroom just a thin curtain.Following that the front desk messed up Some of the rooms and charged different prices to some of my wedding party. Which were booked all under the same blocked off room rate. They did not pay attention to the names on the account because multiplie people in that hotel had the same last names and gave away rooms to the wrong people because they did not check the first names. They offered a shuttle service from the hotel to my wedding venue which was fine but was a fight from them to release the deposit for the shuttle and the shuttle driver told individuals in my party that this was his last time driving for this hotel because they have not paid him in 3 months...Needless to say between the hotel managers and the front desk to the guests, there was no communication and I would not recommend for future stay.Last thing was they checked in one of my guests and called him the next morning on the room phone to inform him that he did not check in and needs to come to the front desk to check in and pay for his room when he already checked in the day before and was given a room key.A cheap hotel is not always a good hotel
I recently stayed at this comfort inn for about 9 nights so and i can say that my stay was quite nice, great room, plenty of pillows, and a pretty nice bathroom. and if youre ever in the need for a quick run to a gas station theres one right around the corner so thats pretty convenient, And the staff were pretty nice people, I couldnt have asked for a better experience. one thing that I did notice was the outlets didnt put out too much power so the charge on your phone is a bit slow and were kinda loose so the charger would fallout some times but other than that it was alright.
Seemed like a great hotel for one night until 2 weeks after our stay, I was getting bites all over my arms for a month. I kept thinking it was mosquito bites, until I pulled my bed and found bed bugs. 24 years and traveling, I never got bed bugs. My bf mentioned he felt something on his arm that night, but wasn’t sure. Our room wasn’t very clean and I haven’t been anywhere since then. I remember waking up the next morning during our stay and had a bite, but wasn’t sure what it was so I disregarded… but here we are, it was a good thing I caught it early because they had laid eggs under my bed. Don’t think I’ll ever stay here again.
I asked room service to clean room while I was gone. Room was half as cleaned since they made up one bed with dirty sheets on it. When they manager came she stated I have to ask for my sheets to be changed. Im like excuse me but I didnt know I had to specify what I wanted cleaned and changed in the room. My sheets was changed. But if I didnt put the stain on the sheet before leaving I would have thought the sheets had been changed since the bed was made. SMH
Had a wonderful experience! The room was clean, the double queen jacuzzi tub was FABULOUS! My son had a BLAST in the mini swimming pool haha 😁Elvis (2nd shift) was very polite, helpful, and very thorough.Sarah (3rd shift) was AMAZING! She had fresh coffee all night, even though she was bust she didnt make me feel rushed or uncomfortable, she has GREAT customer service.
Please look at the “things I didn’t like” section for a better description. I’m actually just mad that my money still hasn’t been refunded. I had ample proof of my room being paid for and the person that took the money was acting oblivious, and was covering her tracks by trying to make me pay twice.
There are a few things that I didnt like but as I stayed for a week, I pondered and realized I have a great experience from the staff from the desk to the cleaners they are absolutely Super nice and very friendly and helpful! specially the Old man who have eyeglasses maybe he is the head there when it comes to the staff of cleaners he is really nice and always have a smile and he see to it that he will help you, theres another old man who cleans the rooms he doesnt speak english but he is very respectful and very hospitable and because of that I am giving 5 stars... I wish the management will recognize these amazing people that makes the Hotel worth staying, I have been to a few hotels that are quite old and the staff are rude and reality is this doesnt happen everytime lol... my first day there I told myself I dont want to come back here lol... but as days go by I felt at home and its an amazing feeling and I just want to say to the staff Thank you so much! and may God bless all of you! I will definitely stay again if we happen to visit Utica Michigan again.
This property was Clean & quiet, however, the hot tub jets didn’t really propel that well and kitchen was under construction, but understand that is a necessary thing from time to time. The room was nice and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The check in person was very nice and accommodating-made us feel welcome.
The hotel was clean, but has some challenges. My door had to be lifted up to allow it to fit in the door frame, and a considerable amount of force used to pull or push it open. My neighbor was missing the strike plate so the latch on her door entered a giant hole in the frame.Im told the construction has been on going for potentially years (reportedly since at least 2017).But the room appeared clean. My bathroom had been updated, removing the tub portion of the tub/shower combo, and nice glass doors were installed (theres no shelf in the shower). Im not a fan of bath linens being folded or rolled and placed at floor level under the sink. You can hear your neighbors above and beside you, and in the hallway, easily. As so many people have said previously, the staff was very nice and helpful. That is so important in this industry. It met my needs, but not my first choice.
This hotel is very clean, and the customer service is excellent. My boyfriend and I have been going here for years, and they have yet to let us down. The rooms are spacious, and most of them have jacuzzi tubs in the bathrooms. Since Covid-19, they placed the remotes in a sealed package and housekeeping comes every day to clean up the rooms. We enjoy going to this hotel, and we will definitely be back. :)
A non smoking hotel that allowed people to smoke not only cigarettes in the rooms but pot smoking. I guess since pot is legal in Michigan its OK to allow guests to smoke the stuff in their rooms. The entire floor and elevator reeked of the smell. The front desk didnt give a hoot about it after I addressed it to them. Completely disgusting.
First room had severe infestation of gnats. The door lock mechanism was not working, and I had to make several trips to front desk to get new keys. The maintenance person even had issues with that door. Room refrigerator [freezer] was solid ice. Continental breakfast was small and inconsistent. Also, breakfast was limited to 1 bag 1 person it consisted of water, muffin, danish, natures valley bar, and some days had a frozen sausage/egg sandwich. I was misinformed on check in time on day of arrival but was not extended a later check out time. Had issues with my first room because of the infestation and told the hotel was sold out and did not have other rooms. When I said I have videos & pictures of the infestation a new room became available. None of the hotel staff were wearing masks. Overall I was disappointed with the hotel. I expected a better experience with my stay.
Not worth $100 a night, was unable to early check in. Hotel is falling apart and smells like smoke. Room had uneven floor and a broken lamp shade and burnt out bulb in second lamp. Carpet is stained and wall paper is peeling around tub/shower. Extended metal pieces are sticking out from bed that hit ankle 3x. Nightstand drawer won’t open due to A/C in close proximity. The updates are just a bandaid to cover up an out of date trashy hotel
This was a nice hotel for the money, especially with the upgrades to the rooms. Bed was comfy and room was clean. I was disappointed that the vending machines were out of a lot of items and I feel like they are skimping on the small touches (rough kleenex, tiny bottles of shampoo/conditioner. Otherwise, it was a decent hotel. I would definitely book from this hotel again.
We traveled over 300 miles to this hotel that we booked a month prior, only to find the lobby full of people because it was overbooked. Everyone was left scrambling. The clerk informed us that the hotel was overbooked by 8 rooms. They refunded our money, and left us scrambling to call other hotels from their parking lot. They knew they were overbooked, didnt call us prior to arrival to allow us time to prepare, and the only thing we received for our trouble was a refund. We will not book here again.
I honestly love this hotel i reallydo i have a lot of history and have been here often. It over all is an amazing place. Just needs a little updating and the staff needs to clean a little more in detail but it doesnt change my view too much on how much i prefer this hotel
Room okay but bathroom lighting needs to be changed. The edge lit mirrors are terrible! Not enough light to shave or prepare yourself for the day. And mine in RM 215 had the upper right corner unlit. But even if it were lit it is far from enough light. Will not stay here again until I hear they have installed new bathroom lights. Or maybe, Ill bring a shop light and set on top. Not good. And as another person mentioned the doors dont line up correctly. Have to push very hard to be able to engage the deadbolt. Please fix.
I’ve stayed here several times because of the jacuzzi tubs. Staff is friendly & professional especially James. Never had any problems until my most recent stay, my room didn’t smell fresh & there was hair in the bathroom sink (which means it probably hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned). The front desk person reluctantly moved me to another room because they were “sold out” even though I was checking in at 10pm.
Every time my boyfriend and I stay at the Comfort Inn, we enjoy it. The room is spacious, clean, and they offer affordable prices. We always get the room with the jetted tub; its the best part of the room to me. Overall, its a great place to stay; I highly recommend it.
My stay was fine. Room clean and that’s good enough for me. It was after my stay. I left a necklace that contained my grandmothers ashes. It looks like the sands of time. Silver. I’ve been calling for days and getting different replies from staff on when I could speak with head of housekeeping. I’ve been told repeatedly to call back each day, when housekeeping would be there, and repeatedly told that it’s their day off every time . Told different times to call and then told again after calling. I left it on the sink, but nothing was reported found the next day. It may appear expensive and interesting, but it’s her ashes and I just want them back so badly. Someone said they would leave a note with the housekeeping staff and get back to me, and I JUST called and the person I spoke with said it’s their day off....again. After I was told yesterday to call before 2pm to make sure I could speak with housekeeping. Can someone just please take a real look. Make a real note and speak to staff. Please idk what to do anymore.
The room was dark because they used CFL bulbs instead of LED. No lights in the bathroom, just a dim back lit mirror. Tacks sticking up from carpet. Entry door difficult to open. Poor noise proofing from next room. The only redeeming thing was that the beds were comfortable.
The receptionist says that she is a manager’s assistant and after a few days it turns out to me that she is a receptionist only. Why lie and then an amount is withdrawn from my account without my consent and I ask to meet the manager and they do not tell him anything. Very bad behavior. I will file a complaint against these employees who treated me badly. I hope the owner will look at me These comments
From beginning to end everything was great! Rooms werent ready for us when we came in so, James upgraded us to a suite. There were a lot of employees to take care of everybody. They even had an appreciation dinner for their guests. First one I have ever heard of. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and we will definitely recommend this motel. We have booked it for a couple of days in the coming week. Thats how good it was.
Our hotel was very reasonably priced and quite close to the conference we were attending. It was also close to important shopping and dining locations. The staff was super friendly and quite helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathtub showed some age but was clean. The internet was free as was the delicious breakfast. We parked right in front of the main entrance and could see our car from our room. We would stay here again the next time we are in the area.
Booked a 2 person whirlpool room.Pros: The room is spacious. The price for the room was good. The hotel is quiet.Cons: The room was a bit dirty upon arrival. Had to contact housekeeping to remove the hair and food left behind in the tub. Housekeeping uses dollar store mops to clean the rooms. The mop I saw on the housekeeping carts were black from overuse. Gross!
Had problem with clothes we left behind. The manager James said he would send them, but I am still waiting. I gave a credit card number to pay for shipping but not shipped yet been 2 weeks and counting. I am going to call Customer Relations if I dont hear something today.
They have a $250 refundable deposit on top of room costDo not accept a jacuzzi room on 1st floor our ceiling was literally cracked open and ballooning ready to fall through the hotub wasnt chalked right either and this was the room we got after 1st jacuzzi didnt work. Never ever had these issues before higher floor has better rooms.
Great place. Bagged breakfasts are a healthy alternative although I would have preferred the hot breakfasts- however, covid is still out there and the vaccines are coming in. Great variety of TV shows they offer compared to LaQuinta. Loved the afternoon cookie snacks and lemon water. Great time altogether. I would stay here again.
Rudest manager. Called three times, once the night before about confirmation and to double check our room came with a king and a couch.. was told yes that night. I was also told to call in the morning about early check in, which I did. The lady said check in at the earliest could be 230-3 but my room was with a king and couch and tub. My flight landed early, so I called to make sure I could wait in the lobby. I get there, at 3 the manager was at the desk along with a female that helped me. I was one of the 1st to xhdck in for the day since check in is ar 3. Guaranteed a room that we were already billed for. I get to my room and its wrong. So I called, tells me they can move me tomorrow. There were plenty of open cleaned rooms that I passed to get to mine. I sanitize all the rooms I stay in even more so now even though it was already cleaned and im here for 10 days. So I go down and tell the manager that I want the room we paid for, there must still be open rooms even though theyre booked because it was just now 3pm. People havent checked in and he refused to move me to a room we paid for until the next day. Told me i could have a rollaway bed for the night.. My fiancee is a combat vet with a bad back and if the bed if too soft, it causes problems a rollaway is even worse! I told him there were open rooms and guaranteed twice the room i reserved. Then told me i was being problematic because I already called 3 times (once at midnight, then at 9am amd then around 1-2) and this was only the beginning of my stay and could only imagine what the next 10 days would be like. So I, the paying custome (after being Humiliated and insulted) had to be inconvenienced to sanitize 1 room to then be moved to another room and clean that room the next day because he didnt want to move around guests that werent even checked in yet? So since they couldnt make me happy, he told me to leave. This is a 2.5 hotel, guests arent assigned rooms and even if they are, the ones that check in
Stayed one night for pleasure. Tried to book room on line but had some difficulty so I called hotel direct. Glad I did, rate was cheaper. :) The person that took my reservation had fantastic customer service skills and was able to assist me quickly. Upon arrival I was greeted by 2 customer service clerks. Very courteous and both greeted me with a smile. Room was clean. Breakfast the next morning was amazing. Much better than regular hotel breakfast. I would like to praise the lady who sets the breakfast up in the morning. She greeted every guest that came in with a Good Morning, asked how the food was and I watched her assist an elderly woman with her breakfast selection and assisted her in making her coffee. Amazing customer service skills. She truly did create a great experience for her guest.
Exceptional hotel and staff. The location in Utica is perfect for getting on and off the express way, the outside of the hotel is very warm and has a great sense of security. The staff are very friendly and professional, and as soon as you walk in the lobby is always clean and welcoming. I am always recognized as an elite member and the manager goes above and beyond with a personal letter in my room along with a gift bag. The rooms are always cleaned and the maintenance staff who was replacing a light bulb noted prior to my arrival was very friendly and professional wearing a hotel staff uniform. The breakfast is outstanding, clean area, excellent choice of foods. I look forward to this hotel when I come down for business, all staff are to be commended for their hard work and attention to detail.
We stayed there a total of six days and the entire facility was very clean. Comfortable bed. Good full breakfast with rotating menu each day. I wish the biscuits and gravy were served every day as the gravy was some of the best I have ever had. Staff was very polite and willing to please in all aspects. Great overall value.
We have stayed at this Comfort Inn many times over the years. The staff, especially James, is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovations, and for the most part are completed. Our room did not have a bracket for the toilet paper, and the brand new showers, while beautiful, do not have a shelf or any place to put soap or shampoo. This forces you to put it on the floor, which is obviously extremely dangerous. We were told this oversight is being remedied; let’s hope so soon! The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable; the breakfast buffet just average.
Ive stayed at this hotel twice and will definitely be staying here again. The staff is exceptionally friendly, professional and accommodating. The rooms are clean - we were provided with ample towels, wifi worked well, and bed & pillows were very comfortable. Ive stayed at a number of Comfort Inns over the years, and this one had the best breakfast by far. The dining room was very clean and there was a wide variety of breakfast items, both cold and hot. I cant say enough good things about the entire staff - everyone was friendly and helpful. If you are in this area, dont hesitate to stay at this hotel.
I asked for extra pillows in the reservation and it wasn’t any extras in the room. I had to call front desk on my cell phone due to the room phone not working. After asking for extra pillows (for my pregnant girlfriend) I was told they could only provide one. I asked about getting a working phone and was told someone will fix it the next day. That wasn’t any help since we checked out the next day. The king size bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We were on the 2nd floor near the exit stairs. Went down stairs to go outside for a smoke at 2am and the door to get outside was already open. It felt a little sketchy and one of the reasons I won’t be returning.
The Comfort Inn on Hall in Utica is definitely old and outdated. Our room was dirty and in serious need of a deep, DEEP cleaning that I can’t imagine the hotel is staffed to provide. Pet friendly was a plus, even after the demon dog next door peed in the hallway. And Andrew at the desk was amazing. A true treasure in the whole run down place.
I was pleasantly surprised, as I made these reservations online without knowing anything about the area. I felt extremely safe staying with my mother and aunt. At registration, the staff member working the desk rearranged our rooms so we had adjoining rooms. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a wide variety of foods that were nicely presented. Amra was very pleasant and she did an excellent job of keeping the food stocked without hovering. I have already told multiple friends about the pleasant experience we had at this hotel.
This hotel needs a good number of updates. The front door is not automatic, the ramp to the front door is off centered - thus not convenient for rolling the cart. The rooms with hot tubs, need a thorough cleaning (or re-caulking), some carpet needs a good cleaning. Staff was friendly, breakfast was ok.
This hotel is usually very accommodating and has no issues. The manager herself said that the head cleaning woman was on vacation and that the other cleaning people must be slacking, because she checked 2 rooms previous to the one she put us in and they weren’t up to par either.
Management was horrible. A worker walked in my room while I was naked and just stood there and asked me if he rented me the room. Seriously?!? How else would I be in a room if I didn’t rent the room. Then yells at me to use the bolt lock, I wouldn’t need to if you didn’t just barge into a occupied room.
I liked the spacious room and the big jacuzzi tub! That was a rare find! However no hot breakfast in the breakfast due to COVID measures. They had grab bags. The only snafus were:key cards not really working well took 3-4x to get to it to work. The TV changer hard to use. It was quiet up in our room.
Juno and I enjoyed our stay immensly! Clean, comfortable, the wifi and a zillion channels but especially the entire staff... Exceptional! Especially; James, Sarah, Mark, Amra, Richard, Mat, Natish, Carol, Ben, Debbie, Juanita, Stephan, Amber, Jennifer, Justin, Dave, Michelle, Kayla and everyone loved Juno too.
This hotel was clean and bright. The staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. We were there for four nights and found our room was always made up early in the day, and all our needs were attended to.The breakfast was amazing and the young woman Amra who took care of it was outstanding.Bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom clean and bright. Great water pressure, so good shower.
The in-room jacuzzi was not running hot water out of the faucet, and on a Saturday night there was no way to get that fixed? Maintenance people werent answering the front desks calls, and Managers werent there until Monday. Then she cant issue a receipt because its in the middle of an audit. Seriously? In a hotel business? Managers arent there... at night. While guests are in the rooms? Can print a receipt at 11:30 PM on a Saturday night?
My sisters and I stayed from Wednesday through Sunday. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was outstanding with a wide variety to choose from. Every staff member we talked to was very friendly and offered to help us with whatever our needs were. We especially enjoyed talking with Ben our last night there when my brother and his wife joined us for the evening and we sat in the lobby and visited! Loved our stay there.
We chose this hotel because it was more reasonably priced than nearby hotels. The room was on the smaller side and a bit dated, but the staff was really friendly, parking was good, and it was easy to get to. We were also pleasantly surprised at how many tv channels were available. We did request a crib for our small child, but they showed up with a dated pack n play, so we just ended up using what we brought. Also the hair chair in the breakfast room was not clean so we couldn’t use it when we were eating breakfast.
The hotel desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, breakfast was tasty, rooms had everything we needed(micro-fridge). Housekeeping staff was great-personally asked if we needed anything every morning. Beds were comfortable. The bed linens and bath towels are amazing! Well lit parking lot. Many restaurants and shopping nearby. Great place to stay!SusanLexington, KY
My stay was very good. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and quiet except I think my neighbors decided to move all of their furniture at one point. The free breakfast was very good and on Wednesday they had a customer appreciation day with free chilidogs.
There was nothing Quality about this motel. The exterior doors did not lock, the shower didn’t work, the hair dryer didn’t work and there was no one there to take care of any of these issues. Definitely should not be a member of the Choice Hotel brand or the Quality Inn brand!
The staff was very polite, all of them that I ran into. The rooms where clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the whirlpool bath as well. The only thing that prevented a 5* rating is there could have been a little maintenance upkeep to my room, peeling wall paper around the shower. I also was at another room that had appliances and it was adjoining another. Nice big rooms with full kitchen. Really nice for bridal party to get ready in.
We have stayed at this motel many times over the years. the room is always comfortable and clean. the staff is always very pleasant, cheerful and accommodating - they stop what they are doing to assist with any request. the breakfast food is very good and is always more than we need. there is a good variety of food available to satisfy most diets. the staff keeps everything fresh, clean and organized.
Facilities were clean, stocked and prepared. The complimentary breakfast was tasty, and standard fair: eggs, danish, sausage, waffles, various juices. Only issue was pricing. There was nothing about the hotel that warranted a hundred dollars a night. They didnt have a pool, workout facilities or any other accoutrements that higher-cost facilities provide. I would absolutely consider them again in the future if the price was right.
You must stay here when traveling. James was the best reception person ever. I travel a lot and when he heard it was my birthday he went out of his way to make me feel special. That was so special when your away from family to do that.Plus being on the road the price was affordable and it also has a laundry area, i needed that. Room was nice and location was perfect . I give this location a killer review.
One of the most comfortable places we have stayed yet! The mattress felt like they had feather tops and they gave a choice of soft and firm pillows. Very clean comfortable room! Even though the hotel was full, inside the room was so quiet it felt like we were the only ones there. That is amazing! The breakfast had everything we have had at other Comfort Inns but they offered additional items like french toast, large chocolate muffins, croissants, chocolate milk and soy milk, regular and greek yogurt. They even had raisins and granola for real cooked oatmeal rather than oatmeal packets.Highly recommend this hotel!
Older building, bathroom well overdue for upgrading, noise problem behind the property. Front desk staff was great, cordial and engaging. The gentleman who was a maintenance leader I believe spoke down to his staff. Took place in front of the manager (I believe it was the manager) and was not addressed. The maintenance staff member was quite personable with me.
The hotel is due for an update in January and really needs it. The rooms were very poorly lit. The beds are uncomfortable end the shower pressure is very poor. You can hear guests next door, in the bathroom and upstairs. The breakfast area is so small and warm that I did not even want to try to get breakfast. However, the staff was very helpful and wanted to make our stay better. They did give us another room where the shower was better but they could not fix the noise or the lights in the room. Also the fitness area had a broken treadmill.
Excellent value for the rate. Beds were extremely comfortable. Shower had great pressure. Everything in the room was in good working order. Continental breakfast was nice. Clean and safe hotel. Some of the furnishings were older but we didnt mind. Overall it was a very good experience.
Overall the hotel stay wasnt bad, however there were some things lacking to make our experience great. There was free breakfast, but it was either cold or luke warm. They seemed to have the bare minimum of a lot of things. We were told that because they were sold out we couldnt have extra towels one night, in addition, they also ran out of waffle mix one morning to which the staff responded they were out and there was no more. Our room also didnt have a safe. We were told that some rooms did and some rooms didnt. So, if you absolutely need a safe I would tell them when you check in or when you make the reservation. On the plus side, we did enjoy the whirlpool tub that was in our room. When we were able to have them, the waffles were good and they had a good assortment of food for breakfast. I personally will not stay here again, if we come back to Michigan, but overall not a bad hotel for the price.
We were very pleased with the check in process and accommodations. Our travelling companion was not able to get a room and the staff at the hotel quickly offered a roll away for him in ours. This kept our group together and was no inconvenience to the staff or hotel.Breakfast was excellent. They even opened up early for us since the staff was bored after preparing the food.
We stayed for a week while visiting family. The hotel staff was super friendly and very helpful. Our room was nice and we were surprised by the fridge and micro. Bonus!! Unfortunately our room smelled like smoke all the time, strongest at night. Otherwise it was perfect for our short stay and the price was reasonable.
Hotel was great from beginning to end. The bed is amazingly comfortable. They have a full breakfast buffet; wish it went just a tad later (only until 930a on the week days). They are very accommodating and have a late check out. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Ive stayed several times and will stay again anytime. This is my new go-to hotel.
I just did! Not typing that all up again. We liked it a lot. Room was clean and comfortable. Great feather pillows but a shame they smelled of cigarettes. They provided shuttle service to the banquet hall and back to the hotel afterwards so we didnt have to worry about drinking and driving. Full am breakfast was very good and had lots of choices.
Room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Wonderful water pressure in shower!! Great selection and variety for breakfast. All staff were very friendly and professional. Only complaint would be weak wifi connection from our room, but had no problem connecting the next morning in the breakfast room. Overall very pleasant experience and we would not hesitate to stay there again!!
Staff was very nice and friendly. Room was adequate. Interesting having the bathroom open to the whole room. Breakfast was okay, stay away from the eggs and sausage, but waffles and muffins were good.Lots of outside noise, almost sounded like the window was open, but it wasnt, we checked and the air conditioner blew right on the bed. Might be okay for some but not something we are used to.Overall, it was a clean, convenient, inexpensive hotel which was okay for our quick stop in Utica.
Place is pretty good for what it is. Super friendly and accommodating staff has made the stay here a total breeze. My only complaint is the general feel of the rooms. Theres always a moist/damp feeling in here. But otherwise very clean. Would definitely stay again for the price!
Bed was comfortable, but I found a pubic hair in between the towels and the housekeeper knocked on my door at 950am and quickly entered before I can even respond. I was so upset. Thank God I was dressed. Check out is at 12 so Im not sure why he did that. I told the desk and felt incomfortable after that and will not be using this hotel anymore. Also with no hot bkfst the price should be reduced but its not.
I felt that the hotel was clean, staff friendly and accomdating and the room price was reasonable. The one thing that I really, really would like to see in my travels as a hotel guest is... please have decent tasting coffee. I really, really appreciate the fact the the room charge includes a nice breakfast. But for me, I prefer to have a muffin and fantastic coffee!
We had family visiting from out of town, so I booked a room for all of us to stay in. The room wasnt extremely large, but it was a fair size. It was clean and well-kept, obviously taken care of regularly. The breakfast selection included eggs and sausage, waffles, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, bagels and bread, and a cranberry, orange an apple juice. Coffee and water were available 24 hours a day. Aimee, the guest services coordinator, was very helpful and polite. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Stayed here for a family event. Had a mix up with one room but we worked it out. Rooms were clean, and cleaning staff kept everything well maintained. Had one room service lady be strange and keep talking while we were getting ready but otherwise staff was all polite. Complimentary breakfast was good. Good experience overall.
Stay at this one all the time. This time was poor. Renovation was annoying. Room not completely done. Total lack of room service! 9:00am power tools being used in room next to us. Sausage on breakfast bar has absolutely no taste. Have stayed at this hotel at least 40 times and this was the worst.
Enjoyed my time here. Entering the hotel the music playing was nice and relaxing. Staffing at the front desk was so very welcoming and helpful it was amazing. Housekeeping staff was great as well. Tending to the needs of me in odd times of the days to accommodate my night time work schedule. It was very pleasurable. Look forward to staying here again.
Hotel was easy to locate with plenty of free parking. Front desk staff was very welcoming. The popcorn in the lobby when I checked in was a nice touch and most welcoming. Room was comfortable as was the bed. Very quiet. Hot breakfast with nice variety of foods. Will definitely be back. This is my second time staying in this hotel. Always a pleasant stay!
Staff was amazing! My family and I drove from Grand Rapids, for a wedding. The wedding was at 2pm, but check-in wasnt until 3pm. I called, and asked if it was possible to check in early so that we didnt have to drive 3 hours in formal attire. They were very accommodating, and let us check in at 1pm.Room was clean, and quiet. My only complaint, if I had to pick something, is that the shower seemed dated. But, other than that, everything was great!!
The check in process was smooth and easy. The overall vibe of the hotel was good. Clean and crisp. The rooms were clean and well put together. My only problem with the hotel was the breakfast in the morning. I guess you cant really complain because its free, but the breakfast wasnt good in my opinion. It wasnt hot and it tasted processed. There wasnt a lot of options. But then again, it was free. Other than that I would definitely book again in the future with this hotel.
This hotel had a unique room layout. The bathroom had an opening to the bedroom space. The Jacuzzi tub had an entrance from the bathroom with a large opening with a curtain into the living space. The tub itself was quiet large. Hot water was VERY hot and endless. Loved that. The bed was not very comfortable at all but the bedding was nice. I also had a problem with the safe. The safe lock was engaged and stuck open. I was not able to reset the lock or use the safe at all. I would have tried to get management to fix it, but I was only in the room for a short time.
This was my go-to place for awhile. I found Mark and the night lady with the red hair (sorry, forgot your name) to be very courteous. The young day girl, not so much. I rquested a quiet room in the back. I was kept up all night more than once during my stay. The problem appears to be the riff-raff they are allowing to stay at the place. Also, the place could use better security measures. It seems just anyone can walk through the front door. Wouldnt stay again unless better screening of lodgers.
Room was really good shape and good amenities. Everything worked great. Noise from people just walking around in room above was bad, had to have fan running all night. Was surprised to get back to room after being out and find that housekeeping had been in the room. Fresh towels are not needed after 1 night, nor bed remade.
This was one of the most pleasant hotel stays we have had in years. The staff were excellent and very personable and accommodating. Even those working on Thanksgiving went out of their way to provide an excellent stay. The room looked brand new and was very clean. Ive never slept on a more comfortable hotel bed. Wow! Great stay!
One of the most accommodating hotels that we have stayed at in some time. Very friendly and helpful staff makes you feel very welcome. The rooms were clean and very comfortable beds. The breakfast options were outstanding and all of the food was fresh and hot. By far one of the nicest experiences we have had in an overnight stay.
Very pleasant staff, rooms are nice. We had the room with the big tub in between the bathroom and bedroom, it was so cool. Nice warm breakfast in the morning. Everyone was very accommodating. My husband and I always stay at ChoiceHotels, and we recommend this hotel if you are staying in the area.
This hotel was outdated, and given the condition of the room and dates of our stay, overpriced. My traveling companions had a King Deluxe room, which had a huge cutout between the tub and the sleeping area...literally with just a shower curtain covering it. Strange to say the least, and awkward when traveling with kids. I personally felt responsible, since I was the one who suggested we stay with Choice Brands. I already avoid Quality Inns, and the last few Comfort Inns have been less than ideal. I used to be a loyal Choice customer, but now I am reconsidering. The staff at this hotel, particularly the breakfast staff, were very friendly and accommodating though.
For the most part the hotel has been clean. But for the past 2 visits the smell of cigarettes and marijuana has been smelt from both the hallway and the room. On that past visit there was a multi room part going on where loud music was heard, screaming between rooms, as well as slamming doors until 430 in the morning.
Excellent value for price paid. Fairly nice gym. Breakfast has a couple nice hot options. Great location for the Utica area. Beds were comfy. Staff was helpful. USA paper in the morning in lobby. A/C was excellent with constant fan on option. HBO channels were a nice plus. Would have been nice to have a pool and spa but none at this hotel. Most amazing beer selections at gas station next to hotel. High speed internet fast enough to stream Netflix as very reliable.
Hotel was cheapest decent hotel in the area. Far exceeded my exoectations. Room was clean and adequately sized for just me. Bed was comfortable, clean sheets, and comfortable pillows. Shower had the perfect water pressure which seems like a usually dumb thing to include in a review but was literally the perfect water pressure. Breakfast was great, and staff was friendly. Would definitely go back
We stay in a lot of hotels, but this was the worst bathroom we have ever had. They use masking tape to cover holes in the counter, the bathtub had a hole they patched with some kind of goop, and the tub was stained black, even though it was a gold colored tub. When we complained to the front desk, she offered to move us to another room. That room was just as bad, if not worse. The only excuse we got, was we are going to rennovate in the future. She kept saying it over and over again. We told them, that does not help us tonight, does it. Their only solution was to give us our money back and we can just find another hotel. Really great customer service. Since I was running a race he the next morning, at it was getting late, It wasnt an option to move.
Nice large comfortable room. The tub was to die for. Loved the Jacuzzi! Nice separate area for coffee/tea making and clean fridge and microwave. Huge closet and lots of mirrors. The beds were very comfortable. Only had the small pillows but there were 4 of them. Heater in the room worked great. Socks didnt get dirty walking across the carpets (2 thumbs up for this). Toilet was low to the floor but worked. Nice long vanity and lots of bath towels/hand towels and wash cloths on hand. All around GREAT room! I will be back!
We stayed overnight due to a funeral in the family. We requested a king bed. The room was perfect for us. Large TV, desk, loveseat. The bed was big and comfortable. The tub was a hug jetted tub. The room heat was great. The free continental breakfast was great. Our daughter lives right down the street, so it was easy for her to watch our dog. They allow dogs, but only up to 40 pounds. We will definitely stay there again and will request the same room. Easy access right off the elevator!
Our recent stay at this hotel was a decent experience but I cant say it was great. We had an issue with the a/c not working but the guy at the front desk did his best to fix it for us late on Friday night. It kept the room cool but not as cool as we would have liked. The breakfast was fairly good. A little variety in the main entree would have been nice but it was good other than that. The biggest issue we had was trying to find parking late Saturday night after we came back from the wedding reception. 2 tree mulching trucks took up 10 parking spaces and so people were parking against sidewalks along the side of the building making it extremely cramped.
The customer service in this hotel was phenomenal. I added an extra day to my stay and they brought my receipt up to the room and slid it under the door. Check-in The room was very comfortable. The only complaint was that I love showers and there was standing water in the tub while the drain was open.
I have stayed at this hotel several times over several years and have never been disappointed. All of the staff is helpful and very friendly. The room has always been neat and very clean. The breakfast offers a big variety and is very good. I cant think of one complaint.
During our visit, I found the hotel to be very clean and well maintained. The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was acceptable. Our room was clean and comfortable and I had a very well rested night. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again if I am ever in the area again.
The manager and desk staff (Amy and a gentleman, sorry Ive forgotten his name) were very professional and helpful. The staff who worked the breakfast (Aggie) was pleasant and friendly as were the ladies who cleaned our room. The building is a little bit older but it is very clean. I love that they have coffee/tea set up in the lobby to grab on our way out.
The whole hotel needs a facelift. Upon walking into the hotel it looks tired and dated. The hallways and elevator also need a spruce up. Radio was on broadcasting through the hallway speakers that you can hear in the room. I had to ask for the radio to be turned off two nights in a row. The room was clean and the carpet looked ok. The lighting in the room was poor. The beds and pillows were comfortable. That being said, The coverlets and draperies looked dated. The bathroom had a giant, very used (not so clean) jacuzzi, that was really hard to step over to get into to use the shower. When I went to use the shower one time, the water pressure was so low, someone must have been filling a jacuzzi in their room. The light fixture had fluorescent light bulbs and the sink area was also very dated (old).
We had many rooms for the wedding. Everything was perfect. Wedding block rate was wonderful for the quality of the rooms we were given. Very clean, comfortable, we even felt comfortable enough to let our girls (8 & 9) go back and forth between all the rooms on their own. Breakfast was a wonderful addition to a really busy day.,
The hotel staff were great, especially the breakfast women. The hotel room was dated but the bed was comfortable and the internet worked. The traffic was noisy making sleeping difficult at times. The heating cooling system was loud when on. For what I paid I was satisfied.
Broken room door. You had to shove it open and shove it hard to get it to close.Several long black hairs on the shower door. Mattress caused you to roll to the middle of the bed.No coffee in the morning,No soap dish in the shower. My wife wanted to leave as soon as we got to our room.
Beds were a little stiff and springy, but overall rooms were clean and stocked with amenities you would expect. The staff was also very friendly. The location was good, but due to all the construction in the area, getting around was very frustrating (but I know thats not really the hotels fault).
What I love about this hotel, and Ive stayed there multiple times now, is that it has great service! When they found out we were celebrating a big life event, they gave us a small gift. When we forgot to-go silverware for our leftovers, they got us silverware in the middle of the night. They are the nicest people every time, and it makes staying there so pleasant! I will stay there every time I am in town!
This hotel has the best price in the area however the facilities are very dated. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was wonderful, but the room was musty smelling and not spotless by any stretch. The bathroom was old with a stained tub. We’ve stayed here before but were in different room on a different floor this time and it just seemed weary and old, and less appealing in general.
Check in was quick, staff was polite. Great deal for 2 queen bed room. We enjoyed the 12 pm checkout and the complimentary breakfast. Location is great, near lots of different restaurants. Only issue we had was trying to find a parking space upon returning, but we parked in half a space/half a snow bank. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
The hotel doesnt look as fancy and techy as some of the places across the highway (to the east), but take a chance & you will be pleasantly surprised. Clean comfortable & quiet. Even the in wall heat / AC was quiet. I was especially surprised to find a full choice of cable channels including multiple premium & a full sports package. The hot tub in the bathroom was a surprise (we never did go tubbing) and is not quite as easy to take a shower in, but it served its purpose, the shower head was nice & high, and water was hot. The breakfast was great (choice of making waffles or banana nut waffles!). Its easy to get in & out, on the main drag, and plenty of parking. The security doors actually worked too. Wife & I give it 2 Thumbs Up
Hotel was great from beginning to end.
We did not have a reservation and just showed up at Comfort Inn and the staff was amazing. So friendly and helpful with everything. Outside, lobby, rooms and breakfast area were very clean. They had popcorn and coffee as compliment in the lobby. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Will definitely stay here again.
My hotel stay was great! I was welcomed by amazing guest service staff, that gave all their undivided attention once I walked through the door. They gave full conversation and told us to call front desk for anything. I needed help with taking breakfast up, Food Staff carried up some breakfast with me because my hands were full, she was so sweet! I had the best experience staying for my Valentines Day!!
To say best value for the price would be an understatement, as it was as good as many of the far more expensive hotels I have stayed at. The breakfast was impressive and plentiful, the staff very friendly, rooms and linen fresh and spotless and the location top notch. I would highly recommend this location to anyone without hesitation.

2022-07-07Stayed at this hotel recently. Had one of the renovated rooms. It was very nice. Walk in shower and the beds were so comfortable. Very clean. Want to say thanks to Rosie and Elvis at the front desk. Especially Rosie who really helped me out when I cut my ankle. Great staff, great hotel, great location. Would definitely stay here again.

2022-05-11I have nothing bad to say about my visit today. From the moment I checked in with Elvis last night, to the moment I received my breakfast from Sandra and my encounter with some cleaning staff in the hallway this morning, my stay was exceptional. The staff are friendly and accommodating. My room was amazingly clean and the air conditioner worked extremely well. The hotel is clearly under renovations, which is a great sign. However even with renovations, there was no disruptions or complaints of noise from me.I stayed in this hotel almost 4 years ago and was not impressed at all. Im happy to see they are updating the hotel. If I could give any recommendation, it would be to invest in some pillowtop mattresses. The mattress had was comfortable, but I believe it could be more comfortable.Absolutely enjoyed my stay. I will definitely choose this hotel again. Thank you staff at Comfort Inn, Utica!

2022-05-14Overall it was a a good stay. I stayed 2 nights. The main frustration was breakfast. The woman who served breakfast said she was out of the Jimmy Dean sausage biscuits. She then asked if I wanted a pastry or a banana. Which I got a banana and a bottle of water. I did not concern myself with it. I ended up going down the road and picking up something more substantial. The next morning I get to breakfast early and I am greeted with the same story. So, I asked about it. I also asked how they could be out again, since I was down so early. She replied, We have some on order, however I dont know when we get them. The manager could have went less than 2 miles away and picked up some breakfast sandwiches. There are multiple grocery stores in the area.Once again, I had to go buy my breakfast even though it should have been included in the hotel price as advertised.

2022-05-20I was here from Idaho for some training. Elvis welcomed me to the area and made me feel right at home. I travel all over the place and have to say this is my favorite hotel. The staff are friendly and the rooms are updated. Thank you all for making me feel so welcome in your beautiful state!

2022-01-23The king jacuzzi suite was lovely. Everything was very clean. It was a fair price for a weekend spacious room, that had a sitting area as well as bathroom with a large jetted tub that easily fits 2 people.I enjoyed staying here and appreciated the kind and friendly employees who made me feel welcome (especially Elvis), and thank you for keeping things Covid safe with individual breakfasts. The coffee in the lobby was good. The pillows on the bed were great. The bed was too firm for my liking and the white comforter and red cover need to be replaced (holes and stains) as well as the outdated TV. !!! No one wants to watch Direct TV with commercials on a blurry screen (even if it’s a decent size) please upgrade to a smart TV or at least something new enough a FireStick is compatible with- a couple’s suite needs “Netflix and Chill” !I appreciate the updates going on in the hotel. It appears they are renovating. The attention to cleanliness was there and the customer service was the best. It’s nice to feel welcome when away from home.

2022-02-25My husband and I have been staying here at least once a month of a night or two. Unfortunately this past weekend was our last time. The rooms are nit being cleaned very well at all. The tables still have food stuck to it, dirty towels were left on the shelf in the closet, no hair dryer. We were put in a room that we had in the summer, this room is extremely HOT and the air conditioning does not work it has never been fixed. The price for a room is to much for this place, no breakfast still a muffin, banana and 1 bottle of water is not breakfast. You can pay a few bucks more and go down to the Hyatt and have everything you need.

2022-06-29Positive: The location is perfect and the facility was clean. Negative: There was candy on the carpet that hadn¿t been vacuumed and the refrigerator was a little dirty around the handle. We were only staying for a night so not a huge deal.

2022-06-27Stellar hospitality staff. Elvis was on point with checking me in and a real pro that made the check in process both entertaining as well as efficient. Nice modern rooms and relaxing stay. Many thanks!
