Small rooms,close to busy US 23 in downtown Cheboygan.
Semi updated. A/C in rooms needs a different set up in the 2 room rooms. We had a old unit and it was very noisy and hardly worked in trying to keep the room chilled as we closed off the bathroom areas. Had no room service ice the 3 days we were there and our toilet could make one sea sick as it had a bad wobble. Our bed was extremely hard. But it was clean and was treated by a very nice man who help us with our very confusing problem.
Drove 3 1/2 hours only to be told the prices were higher than quoted over the phone. The room was filthy, lots of dead bugs and live spiders! There was an old pizza in the entertainment center drawer. Floors are thin as the kids above us sounded like they were throwing cement blocks on the floor. Left a day early because we had such a bad experience there!! 😡
Clean, comfortable and affordable. Not a fancy resort by any means but if you’re looking for a clean place to sleep and shower, this place is it. Old fashioned, simple.Pool wasn’t open but that wasn’t a deal breaker for my husband and I.Would definitely stay again.
Would not recommend. They advertised free breakfast, but failed to disclose until we checked in that they are no longer longer serving breakfast due to COVID. Valid safety concern, but no communication. They could have provided prepackaged food instead of falsely advertising.Speaking of COVID safety, the attendant wasnt wearing a mask at all until they saw us, then lazily put it on.In our room, the AC wouldnt turn on and the water from the sink smelled rancid. We didnt brush our teeth that night because we didnt feel comfortable putting that water in our mouths.The keys are just plain metal keys that can easily be duplicated and used to break into the unit at a later time. Definitely not secure at all. All staff leave at 9 PM, so if anything were to happen, no one would be there to help or monitor the grounds.
Nice place to rest your head. Not really much else. The rooms themselves are (relatively) clean, but everything is horribly dated. Paint is flaking off of everything but the bathroom and walls. Glass is on top of surfaces, presumably to protect whats left of the poor furniture. Could use some freshening up and updating, but overall not a horrible place to stay.
The room was filthy, used bar of Irish spring in our shower, soiled seat cushions and carpet was so stained we didnt want to remove our shoes. Not to mention several loud parties outside in parking lot until late at night. Phone was ripped out of wall, so we couldnt call front desk.Light over sink didnt work and electric sockets so worn plugs fell out.Wont be back.
Very clean room. All the rooms appliances worked. Bathroom hot water and pressure provided an outstanding shower. The price was moderate and I will recommend this hotel for 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. The owner and staff went fare above friendlyness and service.

At this price point, all I am usually looking for is a clean room. This room looks like it was just redone. The bathroom is beautiful, and I certainly was not expecting 2 separate bedrooms. The WiFi is slow, but I get that a lot of places. Will definitely recommend!
The rooms are clean, the beds and pillows are comfortable, the water pressure in the shower is impressive, the a/c is POWERFUL, and the hotel is in a great location.
We visit Cheboygan a couple of times a year for business and always stay at Continental Inn. The rooms are humble but clean at an affordable price. The owners and staff have always been very friendly and helpful.
Double check to make sure its supposed to be your room I came today to check in I was told it was paid then I asked if we could get switched to first floor looked on card wasnt my name when I switched rooms rate was supposed to be lower since it went from two beds to one bed got charged for the two bedroom have to talk to manger tomorrow phone in room dont work internet is terrible
Our suite was quiet and spacious with near silent air-conditioning. Our bed was so comfortable that we both fell asleep immediately and slept like the dead until morning. There is everything to like and nothing to dislike!
This motel is very well kept! The owners & staff are friendly & helpful. The rooms are clean & smell good. The Continental is always our first choice when we come to Cheboygan! Thank you Clayton & Doris Moulder!
This place was awful from the word go! They have outdated rooms as soon as you walk in the door that you have a key that you have to jiggle for 5 minutes to get in. Then, it boasts air conditioning..... Yeah, doesnt work and they are full for the weekend so no units they can trade out. Also says they have high speed internet and they are in the middle of it all. Not so much. Internet wont let you on and you have to walk a mile to get anywhere..... So dont walk! The beds are hard and the pillows are harder, so while you arent sleeping because you are uncomfortable you will also get to listen to everything going on in the rooms on either side of you and above you!! The remotes dont work. They leave you a note stating tips are appreciated for housekeeping but you will find hair in the tub and remote controls without fresh batteries. I surely did not leave a tip for that! I am not sure if this is enough to convince you NOT TO STAY HERE..... but on top of paying $150 for a two queen room, their free continental breakfast is a package of stale doughnuts that they bought at the gas station. I accidentally hit one star..... They would have gotten none.
Very nice place. People were very friendly. We were there for 3 nights and pour room was checked on every day. We had fresh towels energy day. Would highly recommend the Continental Inn.
Very nice staff. The room was stinky with a musty smell but we got used to it quickly. Great outdoor pool. Free coffee, tea, and cocoa!
What a great value. Walk to the beach or marina. In town close to restaurants, Opera House, movies and shops. Excellent accommodations, clean and the owners are wonderful people who have done a great job remodeling all rooms. Price is excellent too. We have returned whenever we get into the area and have never been disappointed.
The room was comfortable, the shower especially was exceptionally hot and nice during the winter. Ground floor room was very easy to transport luggage to and from vehicle.
Double room, two tvs! HOT shower, friendly informative desk person. Super comfy chair. No smoking in rooms, but thats getting standard. Pool was closed, but it was winter lol.
We stayed in room 205. It was a 2 room with 2 beds. Very clean. Cant beat it for the price. Everyone there was super nice and even called to let us know we forgot something in the room.

Dated but clean motel. Wi-Fi works but is extremely slow. Complementary Coffee and donuts for breakfast. We were in the first floor and could hear the floor creaking when people walked around upstairs. Free ice and a washer and dryer in main office.
Very nice 👍 would be better if the a/c would have worked and at night when it got cold out side we could have controlled the heater and if beds where softer but otherwise it was nice place to stay.

This motel is a small, family owned motel that works hard to maintain its two star status. It is in desperate need of a face lift and repair to the things that you would figure are just standard items like wall outlets hanging out of sockets, chipped and pealing paint, knobs on the a/c unit.If you plan on getting into the meth lab business, or like to beat your wife while on vacation, you should definitely check this place out. Or maybe you are just a CSI fan and want to see where that dead hooker scene was filmed, then this is also the place for you.
Clean, spacious enough my 7 month old could crawl around & my 4yo could play & we werent on top of each other. It was nice.

I stayed there a couple years ago and i didnt have any complaints. It isnt fancy but its nice for what you pay and it was clean. I would stay there again.

2022-05-27If you are looking for a new Modern stay, this is probably not for you. But, if you are looking for clean rooms, comfy beds and friendly staff, this is a great place to stay. Everything in downtown Cheboygan is a walkable distance. Restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, movie theater, post office and waterfront just to name a few. Mackinac City and Mackinac Island are a quick 15 minute drive from this location as well.

2021-07-09Some things in the motel could be updated. Doors to the rooms could use a little more weather stripping, but they werent drafty. Rooms are very clean and rates are a good price for the area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Beds are very comfortable and the double rooms fit 4 comfortably. The showers are nice and hot with good pressure. Would stay again.

2021-07-17While this is not a five-star hotel, we had a five-star visit. We were treated very well. The owner gave us a nice discount for my husbands military service. The room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The owner even told us of a spot very near to view the sun with the Mackinac Bridge. It was spectacular.

2021-07-05I stayed for 4th of July weekend. The staff was extremely friendly. The room was neat and clean. The rates were the absolute best in the area. Other places want $200! more for the same type of accommodations. I will definitely be stay here whenever I visit from now on.

2021-10-18It’s old out of date. Was there for my grandson hockey tournament. Woke up at 3:30 went out front homeless man to my right Sleeping it off. On my left man was higher than a kite. Clientel isn’t the best. Continental breakfast was at 9. Hello everyone is gone by than. Won’t stay there again

2020-09-10One of the better if not the best hotel in Cheboygan. I have Stayed there 10 nights over the last 5 years. Ran by long time multi generational family that actually know how to greet and treat guest. Most room decor is a mix of old and new but most importantly Keep Up and clean... Conveniently close to everything Cheboygan. Simple, clean, and sophisticated all at the same time. Sleep well.
