Comment: I have placed an order in August, and the delivery has been rescheduled for 6 times. The store doesnt really follow up with the vendor. I had to reschedule my contractor everytime, and it caused big problems. Now it has been over 2 months and they say only some part of the order have been delivered with no information for what happened to the rest of the order or when it will really be delivered. They told me it would be delivered in 10 days when I purchased the items.

Their staff are not well trained and you have to wait hours, really hours sometimes for simple paperworks like an inventory check, also they tried to charge me twice for same order, second time was when picking up the last portion of the order that they didn’t have in store, and they forgot that they already charged me once!!!So overall be aware.

Comment: Perhaps OK if you are buying everything you need directly off the floor. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PLACE A SPECIAL ORDER. I really cannot emphasize this enough. We are building an ADU and ordered Milgard windows and doors and it has been a total disaster. First, windows were ordered incorrectly. Then, when 1/2 of the order arrived they never called me so the windows sat in the backroom for who knows how long, during which time several of the window parts (cranks) went missing. Trying to get the special order desk to correct this issue was completely infuriating. I must have called 10 times -- no exaggeration. Resolution time: 3 months.Another example: I ordered a $10 nail trim for a door. That was months ago and I never heard from them. Unfortunately every time you call the wait time is so long it is not worth my time to inquire about my order. We got the nail trim elsewhere (same thing well do for all future needs). Resolution time: never closed and I dont have the time to call them back (see comment below).Another example: Replacement windows were due by a certain date. Called the store, they said they would call Milgard and get back to me b/c they had not arrived. Dont hold your breath for a call back, youll be long dead. Ive got a call back 1 out of 10 times with these guys.Ultimately I think they are so COMPLETELY UNDERSTAFFED they cannot deal with any issue not staring them directly in the face at that very moment.Ive been on this ride for 6+ months with these guys. So sad. Ill never, ever be back.

For the past half year, I visited the store for 10+ times for solving the same issues. Very poor customer service. They will put you on hold when you call and let you wait in store for more than 30 mins without any solutions. I finally give up and change to another store after half-years frustration. Even for the refund, I came to the store twice to get it done. I will never go to this store again for any customized order!!!

Comment: I went in today to purchase a kitchen sink. I asked two different people to help me, and got no help at all. The first person told me to talk to the second person, a manager. So I stood in line and waited. And waited. And. WAITED. All while this “manager” sits on his computer and does nothing. After about 10 minutes of waiting, the person in front of me walked up and asked him if he was busy. He helped that man, badly, and the man walked out. 20 more minutes of waiting, without this manager saying a single word to me because he was back on his computer, I walked out. I hope to never need anything from this store ever again

When I inquired about even getting an estimate on just a single item, the associate told me that he didnt want to walk across the store.Why on earth would I take the time to go into a store and give them my money when the employee wouldnt take the time to give me a reference point for my budget proposal? Maybe Im wrong but, in my experience getting a quote on items sold by quantity is fairly standard, but from this interaction it seems HDSupply isnt used to supplying projects? This is the type of service I would expect from Home Depot or Lowes.HDSupply will be added to that list of places to avoid.

They rent tractors, trailers, construction equipment, hand tools, they sell building supplies, they usually have good inventories and huge selection and for the most part their prices are better than home Depot. Geared more for a contractor, if you know what you want, this is the right store. Impressed with the logical way the stores, shelves and displays are setup, stocked and maintained. Great price on paint. HD carries a lot of things home Depot does not have. Ill come here before Home Depot, in filling the items at home Depot I cannot find at HD supply.

Comment: Most of the folks at HD Supply are good to work with but I found John, their manager very hard to work with. IMO, he is not very customer-friendly. I have come across him twice and both experiences have been bad. The second one today takes the cake.I had placed an order for an entry door ten days back and paid for it. I was told it was expected by 12/3/14 (today) but there was a potential delay due to a strike at the suppliers. I was also assured we will be called when the door was ready. I didnt get a call and so I called today. John told me there were two doors in stock. I was wondering why they didnt call us but wanted to stay focused on the immediate need. I requested him to keep one aside but he said he cannot. I reminded him it was paid for already. I was flabbergasted by his response: It is only a deposit. It will not be cashed in until the door gets picked up. The implication is, they cannot keep the door aside. This sounds extremely ridiculous to me. I had to rush to pick it up while fervently hoping someone else didnt pick it up in the mean time. This after paying in full, ten days in advance AND after being assured one will be set aside and we will be called!! How is this for customer-friendliness!! I told him he was doing all he can to drive away customers. At least I for one would never shop there as long as John is the person in charge.
