Copoco is a great credit union, all the staff goes above and beyond to help. There are many employees that have been there for a long time so when I go in there for anything its like I am treated like family. Theres no better feeling then being able to talk to someone locally about any financial decision or problem unlike a bank where you have to talk to someone over the phone where you dont know who they are or if you can even trust them. I gave up on banks a long time ago. I would rather deal with someone in my community that cares. Also, they have great rates on automobile loans!
Was helping my aunt with a loan..she asked for a Car loan and they gave her a personal loan instead.. After being rude about it...They told her it was no problem... just find a car and call then once she did. We called early in the day to tell them that we found a car and we were otw to dealer. No one ever called back so we called back about 330 while at dealer. They said someone would call. At 4 no call ...we called back lady put us on hold then the phone just kept ringing no answer..so we hung up and called back and the lady said the loan officer would get back with us in a few minutes.. Its been 2 hours still waiting......horrible customer service
Ive been a member with this credit union for many years and have never experienced many issues. My entire family has been members for many years. No one is perfect and so maybe every once in a great while an error might happen. For example, once my sisters loan money came to my account and they fixed it right away (better me than a stranger). Other than maybe errors on my part, they have been great! When I had to take my ex to court, they were very helpful and helped me gather proof!
If I could I would give this credit union 0 stars for there lack of maintenance on there Atm machine. Last night I put my debit card in and after getting the money out it kept my card. So I call this morning to see if I can get it back but she said No I cant because once your card is stuck it gets destroyed. Like thats my fault for there faulty Atm machine. Now I have to wait 7-10 business days to get my debit card back. Then I have to pay for a new card. Today is sweetest day and now I have no way of getting my love anything. Thanks for taking and destroying my property. If I had taken a hammer to your atm machine And broken the screen I would had gotten in trouble but not you guys. You took. something that dont belong to you and destroyed it. What a bunch of thieves. How can anyone trust your atm machine without thinking are these thieves going to take my card and destroy it
Well lets see i became disabled, still made my payments. My disability insurance back paid 9 months of payments, but they applied it as 1 payment because you are not allowed to pay ahead on loans anymore. So now Im 21 days past due and getting charged a late fee for being 9 months ahead. And kayla in loans treats me like Im stupid and was rude.

2022-03-04I have banked at COPOCO for a decade now. I have never any anything but positive and helpful experiences. Any time there has been an issue it has been worked out in a timely manner. If you bank anywhere long enough there’s bound to be issues. It’s how someone handles the issues that matter. I see alot of negative comments on here. I’m wondering if it’s just a bunch of broke people who can’t be pleased no matter what by there bank because we’ll, there so broke. That’s my guess. I usually deal with the Straits branch just off Mackinaw exit on 10. Amy the manager there is always a very pleasant person to deal with. If shes not busy and sees me coming too the door she will even open the door for me. I know it’s a small touch but in a world where no one helps anyone anymore, it means something to me. I will continue banking with COPOCO as long as they are around!

2022-03-03The member service department here is exhaustingly slow. Weekday mid day and have been waiting for nearly an hour. Time to find a Credit Union that values their members time.

2022-06-08Since they updated their system June 1st, I nor anyone I know can login to their online banking or app now! This was never mentioned to us when they posted their closure/update to the system. I and many others have tried calling the customer service number for online banking and your just on hold FOREVER and end up having to hang up. Also tried just calling the banks regular teller number and just rings. So apparently there is NO HELP to get into our accounts?. I will now have to stop and go into talk to a teller soon but dont have high hopes with that! Very unprofessional.

2022-06-08Since they updated June 1st, I cant access my account. Evidently, no one else can, either. I tried following the instructions, but they dont work! I dont have time to wait on hold for an hour or more to call them during business hours because, lo and behold, I work too!! Their so-called update is a hopeless mess and they dont seem to care. Im sure I can find another bank where customer service is not seen as an annoying distraction.

2021-11-03Worst credit union ever. I have had them for 8 years and have had enough. At first it wasnt so bad becuase of low atm withdraw fees , but once you start buying items on Amazon or eBay they freeze or tag the purchases if they are out of the country. Very annoying going somewhere and theres money in my account but its locked. Also they screw up every single time I do a money order. Already created an account elsewhere and switching right away. Plus rude customer service, and long lines equals worst credit union possible.

2021-10-18I was selling a house to a friend. She decided to go through this (her) credit union. This was the biggest mistake ever. The appraiser THEY hired was the most unprofessional appraiser ever (Greg Grover) He was there for about 10 minutes, measured with his feet not a measuring instrument and came in $40,000 under the bank appraisal where she, a month later, purchased the home. Grovers appraisal was under the original cost of the house before two rooms and a deck, siding and a new roof were added. They charged $450 and them basically blew us off. We also found out that They would have also sold the loan to another company. On top of that, although the contract says CoPoCo is Grovers client, they said if we want the money back for an unprofessional appraisal, we have to go to the appraiser because they already paid him. I wonder how thats going to go. He cost us $900 for 2 appraisals and we had no say in hiring him. This was a horrible experience. Thank you Independent Bank for saving the day.

2021-12-20They charge you a $1.00 to have money deposited into your account through a debit card, hold your money for because it was through a debit card, charges you if you use an ATM thats not theirs on top of ATM fees. Clear items just before they add your direct deposit so they can collect that overdraft fee. This is the worst credit union ever. They act like they are a bank and not a credit union. If I could give 0 stars I would.

2022-02-06This place is terrible, employees dont listen and the online banking app didnt work, called for help and they were as helpful as sandpaper to wipe your bum. If I could give them a negative star rating it would be a high. They stink!!
