During my check in the front desk lady was very rude. The place was dirty. Housekeeping was still there cleaning and they were friendly especially the older lady who said her name was Donna. I stayed 3 days and asked if she could be the one to clean my room. She was friendly and trust worthy. I had a problem with my bill and the front desk supervisor was rude and not at all helpful. I spoke to the a lady named Amanda who helped immediately to fix the issue. So thank you Amanda and Donna for the pleasant experience while I stayed. The rest of the staff from Thursday to check out Sunday were not friendly. I was disappointed as a Marriott Titanium member this property does not meet Marriott standards in anyway.
I always try looking for positives, there only two I can come up with are that the room seemed clean & the staff seemed helpful. Maybe. The negativesThe towels in the room were really little, maybe enough to wrap my hair in. Went to the front desk & asked for towels and was given two normal size towels.Originally booked for two days but would’ve went somewhere else if I knew then what I know now.Usually hotels have coffee & sometimes even cookies for guests - something after driving a while or in the mornings I look forward to! Nope! None anywhere. They had a Starbucks Bistro! I was excited! But……it was closed. (Afternoon check in) it was open in the morning but the card reader was down so it was cash only or billed to the room & closed at 10am.Looking for breakfast? I think when I booked the room, they were charging $19/person? I declined, just as well because I’m pretty sure I smelled nothing coming from the kitchen area when we passed by both mornings. . We went elsewhere. No fruit, yogurt, muffins, cereal……nope - if you’re thinking continental, you’re out of luck. The pool & hot tub were closed for renovations but hey! We could drive down to their sister hotel & use their pool!! I didn’t do that but how awesome is that, that I could do that?! Yikes!!The air conditioning was stuck on “you’ll sweat while you’re in this room whether you want to or not” we we asked the first day if it could be fixed & was assured that it would be taken care of. Nothing was fixed, sweated on night two of our stay.Couldn’t see out of the cloudy window. Whether it was scratched or stained, we’ll never know! The elevator worked!! It took quite a while to get to the 3rd floor, I could’ve used the stairs, it probably would’ve been faster. No housekeeping, maybe we should’ve asked about it but I’m sure we’d have been told towels, shampoo & one tiny bar of soap for two people was sufficient. The shampoo & conditioner were two different kinds, reminded me of what someone would get in a collected donation bag.I’m guessing they collect & buy unused shampoos & soaps from other hotels? The beds - one was springy & the other just seemed the better choice. Overnight was quiet, I guess that’s a plus?I’m not sure the remote for the tv even went to that tv in particular, never found out since it didn’t work. After all this, I refused to use the coffee pot in the room. There’s a legit Starbucks & a McDonald’s nearby for your caffeine fix.The person that checked me in said there was a $40 charge for “incidentals” usually that’s initially included most places I’ve stayed.I’m up in the area a few times a year & when I’m looking for a room, this will be a reminder to myself to stay away from this one!!
I hated this place, the staff was super nice but that did not help me. I booked online I paid extra for a handicapped room . I got a balcony room on the second floor and they had to move me down to the bottom floor but they had no handicap room for me that I paid extra for and did not get refund. The room looks old and out dated the carpet was all shread around the edges. To top everything off I had tools stolen out of my pickup truck.
Positive: It was very close to where we were going. Negative: There were a few things:The elevator was not working, the pool was closed (would have been nice to know since we were planning on swimming, there was no cream or sugar in the rooms. There were towels only for 1 person. No refrig. or microwave in room.
Positive: Vacinity near our hockey tournament Negative: Pool and elevator were out of order with no warning. Older parents couldnt get a room here wo elevator, kids couldnt use pool to kill time btwn games. Main reason we even booked. Told there that was breakfast but there wasnt which really messed up AM
Bad Marriott. I’m a Titanium Elite and this was probably one of the worst Marriott I have stayed at. Elevator broken. Went to get coffee in the morning at the Bistro and waited till for someone to come out from the kitchen. As I say and waited the night reception person sat in the lobby with the her kids. I asked her if she could help and she rolled her eyes and it felt like I was annoying her. Not a great representation of Marriott service.
Positive: The lady behind the counter was very polite good nice Negative: It was old outdated shredded carpeting the elevators did not work I paid extra for a walk in shower handicap room what I got was a second floor room but the lady behind the desk moved me down to the first floor but we did not get a handicap room
My stay at this hotel was in general pretty disappointing. From the condition of the room to the location, it is not what I was looking for .Location: The hotel is very close to the airport; however, that’s about the only nice thing I can say about the location. I would give the hotel a 0 on the walkability scale. One restaurant that you can walk to and everything else requires transportation. Uber and Lyft is essentially nonexistent here as well. Multiple times throughout my stay I waited upward of 20 minutes with drivers. Unless you are renting a vehicle or have local family/friends who can pick you up, this is not a location for you.Hotel: This is laid out like you would expect from a Courtyard. No real differences there. The hotel is old and it is very obvious it has not been very well maintained. The television in the room is small, the remote did not work, is very old. The phone in the room is very old as well. The buttons did not work well and the phone is discolor due to the age. The room furniture is also very old. The bed was comfortable, but the couch was not due to its age. A light was out in the room. When maintenance came he moved the bulb and it turned on until he left. I did not bother reporting it again.Cleanliness: The room appears clean on a first look, but the details are concerning. The curtain was torn and had stains on it (see photo). In the bathroom the ceiling had something in the ceiling (see photo) that may have been mold, but I’m not sure. It needs cleaned whatever it is. Those details make the overall cleanliness of the room a concern.Staff: The front desk employee when I checked in was extremely nice and efficient. The maintenance employee who came to my room was nice, but did smell very strongly like marijuana.I will not be choosing this hotel the next time I visit the area. Sadly the only other Marriott nearby is in the same location so I will have to branch out from my preferred hotel chain.
Immediately after booking a room via Airbnb, I had three authorization charges placed on my card that I put down for the what has always been a flat $40 incidentals rate. I’ve stayed in all sorts of Marriott’s and have experienced 3 distinct charges applied to my card, with one being a higher amount than the rest. When confronted normal staff members they seemed confused but tried to assure me they would refunded ASAP. After 4 days, today, while checking out I look to see if I’m they were refunded, and they were not. I confronted the desk again, this time to be met by the assistant to the regional manager on a bigger power trip than Dwite from the office yet, with an ignorance level that far exceeds, what I thought, what was humanly capable. Any measurability of her competence level would require a space leap advance in technology to measure amounts of energy to minuscule. The entire argument all she could recite was “you had $201 in beverage and food charges”, to which I replied “Correct, and I’ll pay that as I have every time. what’s the point though? ($40, $40, $50) $130 != $200”. She errogantly and stupidly replied “well I guess we need to charge you more!”I talked to corporate, and as I suspected she’s a regular complaint the problem will be taken care of immediately and granted a full refund. They also rebutted her lie that she had been working there 19 years. If Krissy at the front desk, ask for someone else to assist you. You’ll have the worst Mariott experience if you work with her.
Very disappointed when checking in. They have a whole list of cards they dont accept when checking in BUT its ok to use to reserve rom. AND nothing stated anywhere to this effect. On top of that what place diesnt accept cash any more? Probably wont go back. Wont get a credit card just to travel
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pillows are the most comfortable ever (all Marriotts have the best pillows) and the staff deserve am award for their outstanding service. However the hotel could use some upgrades and the gym is underwhelming. Was sorely disappointed that the hot tub and pool are only open on the weekends, had I known Id have gone to a nicer hotel. Also the elevator has been broken for forever, someone should probably fix that. Overall I would likely stay again if it were just for sleeping. Clean and comfortable but as a whole misses the mark.
I had great customer service. Not just in person, but Everytime I called as well. Elevator wasnt working, but I dont mind exercise. Wish I wouldve made time for the pool, it looked very pleasant. Balcony views could use some updates and cleanup. I Will be going back in future(would recommend)Thank you for the great stay and wonderful smiling staff!
Our stay was only one night and location was more important than price or quality. Weve stayed at Courtyard Hotels before and had an expectation ahead of our arrival. The hotel location was very convenient. They had limited amenities due to COVID and staffing. Room was very clean, furnishings were simple and dated but operable. Balcony with furniture was a nice feature.
Took two hours to get checked in, elevator didnt work all weekend which made the top floor a lot of fun with luggage and a bad back. Hair on the bathroom floor at check in, lobby did not get vacuumed all weekend, and theres a trick to opening the door to the room. You just have to bang it a little bit sometimes. Post stay discussion with the GM of the facility was pointless, he clearly doesnt care. At any rate, I will definitely stay clear of this hotel in the future. Very disappointed as I have had great experiences with Marriott facilities all over the world. This one? Ive had better experiences with Motel 6.
The only positives go to the employees. Theyre super friendly and as helpful as they can be given their circumstances. The pool is tiny and filthy, it and the hot tub have a green algae colony living around their edges, and Im pretty sure I saw plankton wave to me from their tiny jet skis. Seriously, someone else wrote clean me in the grime and it looked like it had been there a while. And it was only open until 8pm when the sign said 11.The rooms are just sad. The beds are hard and the high setting on the air conditioner barely moved air. We brought in our own fan to cool the room.I know this sounds bougie, but there was no mini fridge. The elevator was broken, and had been for some time based on the reviews from months past. Their website touts a bistro for breakfast and dinner, and it wasnt open.I guess, at least, it was mostly clean. A strong smell of bleach from the bathroom when we first arrived, and then the room just smelled kind of musty every other time we came back in. But it wasnt messy, no trash, and I didnt see any evidence of bugs so thats nice. The shower had decent water pressure and it worked, the temperature stayed the same heat level all the way through. So if you want a place to take a hot shower, stay here. Otherwise Id look elsewhere.
Very poor quality. It was one of my favorite places to go and relax but now it is run down very dirty. The sheets are not changed and my room had used tissue on it and the sheets were not completely on the bed. I understand that covid changed a lot with getting workers to come to work but if you decide to come to work please work. The lady at the front desk I did not get her name but she was extremely helpful and she did change the sheets for me. The housekeeping lady was still doing the rooms when I got there and there was no sheets on her cart which means she was not changing the sheets in the bed rooms. There was a few tiles on her housekeeping cart but no sheets at all.
Pretty nice hotel. It is on the more... Shall we say... Loved side. But a very comfortable stay with balconies. The staff were really friendly too. If looking to stay near gateway its a solid normal choice. If they updated and remodeled I could see it being really nice. Good stay and well cared for.
Traveled from K.C. for family gathering. Reserved rooms for several family members. Requested rooms with refrigerators because some family members needed to store medicine. No refrigerator or microwave in most of our rooms. Rooms smelt moldy. Thick dust on furniture. Asked for towels. Was told wed have to wait for other guests to check out of the hotel before we could get clean towels. Ironing board broken. Shower curtain liner had mold on it. Elevator was down but we were notified before we arrived. Older relatives had been moved to first floor but due to the strong mold odor, they were moved to 3rd floor. It was a task getting them up the stairs. I will say the ladies at the front desk two of the days we were there were polite but werent able to do anything about our complaints. We asked to speak to a manager and each time we were told the manager will be here tomorrow. Finally met a manager the day we were leaving. He was extremely nice, professional, and understanding. He apologized for everything and gave us a very nice discount.
I stay here over a dozen times before and this time the quality of the room is dirt poor. I changed rooms twice the first time it looked like someone just woke up the sheets were a mess and halfway on the bed the second one has naughty tissue on the guess when I first walked in and the sheets were dirty. The pool was disgusting just as well as the jacuzzi. I came here to relax to take some stress off of me and I just wanted to sleep so I asked the queen sheets and the lady at the front desk changed the sheets herself which was really nice she was extremely helpful and apologetic. In the morning they only offered Starbucks coffee that you had to pay for. In the past there was continental breakfast sometimes it was cereal or something of that sort but now the dining area is gone and you have to pay for Starbucks coffee with cheap creamer. This hotel should be shut down its dirty and filthy and the elevator does not even work. The stairwells are on the ends of the hotel so if you have a room upstairs you have to walk toward the end of the hotel and all the way up the stairs very inconvenient. Marriott should be ashamed of this hotel.
Please don’t stay hear. Bugs in Room 2 nd Floor. And we have pictures as well. And we still our having issues today. We were there December 30. And 31st. We had no other place too go once the bugs came out. Around 11:30pm. New Year’s Eve. Due too us drinking. We were Stuck. Now that we are home. We found them in our baggage. Plus having a difficult time dealing with the manager district manager with a set of car keys that was left there they found them 2 days Later. And still do not have them. It’s now. January 9 th. 2022. The district office will need to be called on Monday. Plus we are a certified pest control company out of the state of Ohio. We were on vacation trying to enjoy Frankenmuth. And New Year’s Eve.
This was a pretty stinky room for the price. The front desk was very professional and helpful, but I believe they made an effort to have most people on the first floor because the elevator is broken (which we were made aware of before our arrival). I would have rather hauled my luggage upstairs to be able to sleep with the window open to clear up the musty smell. The carpeting and beds need replacing. We did not have any soap, the front desk brought a bar promptly, but the strange thing is the box had a penny in it and was beat up, almost like it was used. Its very close to the airport.
Its very dirty, they only had hand towels and wash rags for our 2 rooms. We asked for bath towels and they didnt have any for us. We were told wed be put on a list. No pool towels either. The hot tub is disgusting and has skin film around the entire area. The pool only slightly better. There is only 2 hand weights in the entire weight room. No fridge in the rooms also the snack market is bare, Starbucks and the bar is closed and they hand out bagged breakfast. The pullout sofa in one of my rooms was completely broken and useless. They also had no linens or pillows for sofa beds. This place is very sad especially for the price they charged us. Wouldnt keep my dog here.
The main issues is that the room was too small than what was shown on the site. When asked about basic needs like toilet paper or towels the accommodations for those things could not be met. I understand that staffing can be an issue but for a two day stay we should have been able to receive towels. The one positive was the water pressure of the shower but of course our toilet flush pressure could barely get toilet paper down. Super bummed about this stay. The site presented a 3 star hotel stay and it seemed like a 1 star. Would have liked a refund!
Hotel staff was very nice. We came with a large group. Front desk/lounge area was nice. Rooms were outdated and could use to have been updated/refreshed. There were no USB ports/charging stations anywhere which was a surprise. This was a last minute trip and many of us forgot our charging blocks because we assumed there would be a place to plug cords in the room. There wasnt and it made it a little difficult the next day to have to charge phones in cars. Overall though it was a good stay.
Was worried as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. Landscaping was nonexistent with overgrown scrubs and weeds everywhere. Lobby area was dated and rundown. Hallway on the 3rd had wallpaper peeling off the wall. Booked through Marriott app and listed all 4 of my family members and only had two towels and washcloths in the room. Went down and ask for more towel and washcloths and received something that resembled a towel. they were paper thin and very dated. Then I found out the restaurant and pool were closed and asked why that wasn’t listed on the Marriott app and was told I should have called to inquire. Room had bad odor air conditioner was loud, curtains were ripped and room was dirty. First Marriott property. I ever had to pay a $10 parking fee. I could go on but I think should be enough to describe our family’s disappointment in this Marriott property.
I like to stay at Marriott branded hotels because of the quality service, good food, amenities and cleanliness. This hotel lacked amenities, food and service. Definitely not as advertised on the internet. What to expect staying at this hotel: no pool, no food, no security (entrance door would not lock, so did not need a key to enter), no beverages and poor service. It was the worst experience at a “high end” branded hotel I have ever had.
Molded shower curtains, soiled dirty & torn Curtains, dirty stained bed skirt, requested a room change was denied. The worse hotel I’ve EVER stayed in!! No complementary services, bistro, jacuzzi, hot breakfast. Which are listed on the site. I was not allowed a refund. The furnishings were old water stained and in need of repair/replacing. Then I was charged an additional $10 to park on the property!
Positive: The location was close and convenient. I like the fact that they do allow pets. And there was a nice balcony in the room Negative: The furniture in the room was dirty and outdated especially the couch it was very old with visible stains. Ive stayed at Marriott hotels before and this had to have been one of the worst.
Bathroom wasnt clean, comforter seemed like it hadnt been washed (had stains on it), the sofa bed was so old and uncomfortable! Furthermore, the screen door for the balcony was laying on the side of the balcony floor. The place was very run down and beaten up. I had to leave and check in elsewhere. The only reason this place made it to 2 stars was because its close to the highway, the staff is pleasant and food selections arent bad in the area. But definitely wouldnt recommend.
This is the worst hotel my family and I have ever stayed at. We have done a lot of traveling due to my husband’s job and this one takes the cake. The staff was great but that was it. We was suppose to have a king size bed with a sleeper sofa. When we got in the room it was a queen size bed and that was it. There was no microwave or mini fridge. The staff stated that it was due to the COVID virus. Also the heat in the room was ridiculous. We had the air set on 60 and it was still 80 or above in there. We had to keep the door open to get some airflow through the room. My daughter was absolutely miserable!! And don’t you dare be a coffee drinker. You can get one cup and then they will start charging you. This was by worst the hotel. We will never stay here again when visiting family!!!
Inexpensive for points use and to get 2 rooms for 2 nights was affordable, but the hotel needs an upgrade. Elevator out of order for entire weekend. Main floor ladies room had no paper towel and toilet leaked all over the floor. Second floor ice machine constantly gurgled draining water. Staff was friendly, but not recognized as Bonvoy member upon check in. But, not sure of the alternatives in the area either.
The best thing about this stay was the front desk personnel. They were very nice. They rooms on the other hand a in bad shape. In the first room the television was cracked and had some white substance all over it. The smoke detector was literally hanging off the wall where the wires were exposed and the dust on the walls was terrible. Once my room was changed I was still not happy... the couch was old and nasty, the mattress seemed like it had been there since the hotel opened years ago, there was dust and dirt built up around the floor boards. It’s is not somewhere I would bring my family or ever stay again. It has potential to be a great hotel! Please upgrade not only the rooms but your housekeeping manager because they obviously aren’t doing their job.
I booked a room with a king bed, a fridge, mini bar, and jacuzzi. Well, when we arrived our suite was on the 3rd floor and the Elevator was Not working and I use a Walker so we were given a room on the first floor. Let me say it was Horrendous! There was no fridge, so, I could Not store my Medications or store cold drinks. There was No Jacuzzi which was why I booked a room with them, and No mini bar. The Bed was a queen not a king and so bad that waking up for the 3days there, my back is so painful that Im going to have to go get a chiropractor. 😫. It felt like we were sleeping on springs.People Do Not stay at this Hotel, for what We paid we could have stayed at the Holiday Inn! They did Not Comp us in any way, or give u a discount. So, we still had to pay for something we did not receive. Very very disappointing 😞
I was in Flint to take an exam that was 5 hours and 40 minutes long. Needless to say I needed a place that was quiet so that I could study and a place that had a pool and a gym so that I could exercise and calm my nerves. I had many questions and the customer service was phenomenal. And though many hotels did not offer breakfast, they provided breakfast in a to go bag. I had a great experience.
The website makes this place sound much better than it is. It has no dinner or room service as website states. Rooms are old and dirty and furniture is dirty, it smelled musty and Smokey and this was the executive suite. Also, elevator is broken and has been for months. We were supposed to stay another night and couldn’t stand it so we left.
I’ve stayed at this property more than once since Bonvoy properties are limited in that area. The staff is excellent, but the rooms are in need of serious overhaul. Torn curtains, musty smell, mattresses that are severely old and sag, and what appeared to be boogers flung on the wall. I would hesitate booking here again unless they property gets a serious overhaul.
It rained the night I stayed and when we woke up, there were ants everywhere. All over all our clothes, my babies toys, and my babies car seat. I went to the front desk to complain and they told me that it was because i had formula in the room. At my own home, rain & formula have never been the cause of ants being all over my stuff. The ants are there because the hotel is dirty. The woman took a dry rag and attempted to wipe away the ants but left most of them in my car seat. they told me theyre sorry but there was nothing they can do. second awful experience here and i wont be back.
We stayed here for one night before finishing the trip to our vacation destination. I hate to be negative, but it was rundown. There was a nasty stain on the office chair, and on my bedsheets. (Eww, right?) In our other room there was no bath mat, but other than these things, it was moderately clean.
Not a bad place to stay . Price was good . We went through hotels com . The only complaint I had it’s July 4 and you have to make reservations for the pool and also there was no Contintal breakfast. Many other hotels offer this now . I think it’s time to open everything back up so we can get what we pay For. There is many items you can do that is prepackaged . And open the pool up .
Elevator down for 3 days possibly longer. We left on the third day. Breakfast menu sucked. Bugs in room. Rented a suite no remotes that worked for televisions. Had to go to desk for linens pillows blankets for pull out bed. No housekeeping fresh towels. Terrible for a Marriott Courtyard.
We have stayed at many Courtyards and this is the worst by far. It all started when we pulled up to check in and due to the condition of the parking lot and the waist high weeds where there should have been grass, the hotel looked abandoned. The elevator was down so they were trying to get people to stay on the first floor. The side entry doors that normally require a room key to enter from the outside were broken and allowed anyone to enter. The garbage cans at the side entrances were not emptied and were overflowing from the day we arrived. In our room it was extremely humid and the carpet, towels and bedding all felt damp. After taking a shower, our towels never did dry even after 2 days because the room was so damp. The furniture was extremely stained and we had to put towels on the surface before sitting down. All of the wooden furniture was so worn that the edges were bare. This is the first Courtyard we have stayed at that did not have a microwave or mini fridge in the room. The shower curtain liner had mildew on it and there was hair in the shower.. This hotel was absolutely disgusting. If we had not stayed at a Courtyard or a Marriott hotel before and this was our first experience, we would never stay with Marriott again. As a Titanium Elite member and a Platinum Lifetime member, we have stayed at enough Marriott hotels to know what to expect and this hotel was unacceptable.
This was a pretty expensive room and omg was it gross. I’d like to say emphatically that all the staff I interacted with were really nice and helpful but the room…It was worn out, the bathroom had hair all over the floor, the carpets were filthy. The bed was ok. My balcony room looked out over a parking lot and some industrial buildings, very Flint. I know there are some newer places downtown but my family lives in various places outside of Flint and this location was close to the highway so I thought it would be an ok choice. Whoever has this franchise? needs to get in there and update the rooms. Oh and the security dude door was propped open almost every time I left or returned so I can’t say that it felt safe. My room was not serviced at all during my stay, maybe because if covid? It’s fine I can reuse a towel and make my own bed but for how much I paid it felt yucky. They also charge for parking which I wasn’t aware of and find insulting. They did let me cancel one night if my stay because allegiant cancel my flight home and didn’t have another one from Bishop for a week; off to a last minute expensive flight home out of Detroit. The in room coffee was really bad ave the coffee pot was dirty. I actually went to the store and bought dish soap and bathroom cleaner. I never got more coffee packets because see they no service comment but that too is ok because it was bad. Again the staff were really nice but this place is pretty much a dump. You can do better. I hope.
It was alright I guess! Mostly clean but the curtains and shade really need replacing cause they were old, dirty and the shade was torn! A little stingy with the breakfast too! I asked for coffee with the breakfast but was told only one drink and since I had a juice I couldnt get a coffee too! However there was coffee in the room! Just a little disappointed in that! Overall not too bad of a stay! We would go back anytime!
We werent told ahead of time that the hotel was going through renovations. Pool wasnt open much. The elevator was shut off. We had to cli.b stairs 3 flights. The restaurant wasnt open they only offered a snack breakfast with a muffin orange ge ann each room and wanted to charge extra for more towelsd granola . I probably will never stay at this location anymore. Also they only put 1 washcloth in each room
A terrible experience. The elevator was broken and I had to beg to get someone to help take my luggage to the 3rd floor. I called down to get someone to help bring my luggage down when I was leaving but the front desk refused to do so. There were NO towels in the room and I was told I needed to come to front desk to request those. Too bad I was freshly out of the shower by the time I realized I had no towels. I thought to grab the top sheet of my bed, but there wasnt a top sheet at all. Toilet also didnt work right, didnt flush fully, so that was an unpleasant smell.Do NOT stay here.
This place is disgusting! I have never had such a bad experience at a Marriott hotel. The room was cold and humid. The carpet was damp. The room smelled moldy The sheer curtain panels were rotting and torn The shower leaked into the bathroom - used towels to dry the floor Front Desk did not have more towels for the next day - ended up purchasing my own towels at the Meijers store down the street Unable to get the room cleaned - no housekeepers available - The front desk said you must sign up 24 hours in advance to get the room cleaned Unable to swim in the pool - must sign up to be put on a list to use the pool
Neither of my rooms were ready at check in. I had to wait 45 minutes for my first room and an hour and a half for my second. The manager told me I would be getting half off my rate so that would mean i only had to pay for one of the rooms. then without my knowledge, they charged me for half of the second room. When i called to ask about it, they said there was nothing they could do. also one of my king rooms didn’t have a sofa bed, only the king bed. it was a pretty awful experience and i’m super upset.
To start, I received an email that my room was ready and I only needed to go to front desk to pick up keys. Once I got there at midnight, I had to do the entire check in process. No big deal, but my information is already on file, and I was expecting a 1 minute key pick up and go to bed. Next, the elevator was broken (which, yes, maintenance does happen), but we were on the third floor. I have a severe back injury that doesnt allow me to lift over 5 pounds, hence an issue when I dont have an elevator to take my suitcase upstairs. My back was also tight from travelling with the injury so stairs at all were dangerous for me.The receptionist didnt offer any solutions only said she couldnt leave her desk to assist. Finally a gentleman walked by, who happened to be the manager and the receptionist was able to ask him to carry my bag upstairs. I asked who would carry it downstairs the next day and my question was ignored.Fast forward.....I woke up early to hop in the shower before leaving for more travelling. I found we had NO TOWELS. Only 1 hand towel. NO WASHCLOTHS. I had to drip dry. I called to the front to explain we had no towels and to my surprise instead of an apology the receptionist said she was well aware that I had no towels and they were at the front if I wanted to come get them! I was wet and had no clothes, and cant walk multiple floors down to get towels to walk multiple floors back up. Again, no apologies. I asked for a discount, and she said she would do that once the manager arrived. I did get a new email, but no discount for inconvenience of no towels.I then asked if someone could help me carry my bag downstairs to which she said she was the only worker and couldnt. I DID re-injure my back while walking down the stairs to my car, which is a total bummer. Also, the room stunk, toilet didnt work for us at all. The bed was old, had sink holes and uncomfortable. There was no remote for the TV. The couch cushion fell into the couch itself due to a terrible pull out bed. We had no topsheet on our bed, so Im not even convinced our room was clean. NEVER STAY HERE. Im beyond grateful we were only there from 12am - 7am.
The beds are so worn out, sagging, caused my back to go out. Mattress must be 1980s. Elevator has been out if service for awhile. Outside, this place hasnt had any maintenance done in a long time, kinda looks like its a abandoned building. Room was muggy, curtains ripped and worn. The only reason I give a two star rating, is because of the two women that work there, the desk clerk, and the housekeeping gal, they were the only positive thing about it. Otherwise, ZERO.... worst Marriott property that Ive ever stayed at! And I travel throughout the country all year.
Front desk ladies were professional and nice every time we dealt with them. Housekeeping needs work. No bath towels had to ask for them. The face towels that were left behind is what I am assuming had makeup/foundation on them. The floor towel for stepping out the shower was either dirty or stained and the business chair in the room appeared to have dried up something on it, yuck! The amenities were completely closed which is understandable with COVID but perhaps a signup with limited use would be nice and although I paid for the Breakfast with my reservation there was none :( Disappointed. Thank goodness all we really used the room for was sleeping. I will likely not stay there again.
BUGS!! Started itching and found bugs within 2 minutes of searching bedding.. Bedbug???? I would of kept searching to find their nest for more proof but already disgusted.. The pool area was filthy, electrical issues ALL THROUGH from the rooms (bathroom lights) to pool area. Elevator not in service. Rooms are only wiped down in certain areas, not cleaned thoroughly, stains everywhere from furniture to the floors. Ripped curtains and bedding. This place needs a complete remodel or to be SHUT DOWN
We knew itd be bad when two people were in line to complain and multiple people asking for towels. Our room wasnt ready when we were told itd be ready early. Once we got in, we were missing a towel and it smelled like smoke. Worst Marriott weve ever been too. I feel bad for the front desk lady because its out of her control but the management at this property must be terrible
I am a Titanium Elite member, and I have been a loyal Marriott traveler. However, whether Covid related or not, I have been way less than impressed with the limited number of Marriott properties I have been staying at and with the level of service at these properties, within the past year or so. This one was no exception. Not very welcoming. No food or bar service. Coffee cups in room not individually wrapped. Just overall disappointing lately. Honestly considering switching to another brand.
I was very disappointed. The first room we were given was unclean and smelled of smoke. The second room smelled better, but was also unclean. The bed sheets were not made properly and secured to the bed. There were food wrappers and left-behind toys on the floor. Very disappointing for a Marriott property.
The room was one of the worst experiencing that I have endured. I stayed in room 121 - the window was unsecure which lead to having to insert an old broomstick in the window in efforts to reinforce physically security. Additionally, furniture was obviously missing from the said room, which compound my frustrations! I would not recommend anyone to stay a nanosecond within this facility.
Let me start by saying the staff here was nothing but nice. But the hotel itself was terribly dirty and outdated. Our carpet was filthy and left our feet and socks disgusting. Our bath fan didn’t work, cobwebs in bedroom, mold in tub and on the shower curtain. Very outdated furniture. Would not recommend staying here to anyone
The staff was super friendly, and tried hard. Outside of that the place is old, tired and dirty, and appears to be on its last leg. Im a business traveler, I dont expect a lot from a hotel, just a clean room and a coffee maker that works. The room was marginal and the coffee maker didnt work.
The small room kind of smelled like smoke. The bed was not very comfortable at all, and the worst for us, the furnace kept turning off and on in a very loud way. It would wake up my two toddlers and they scream the night away. I think the lobby has been updated but the rooms are in need of that too…
Staff is super friendly. Made going down to the front desk for a refund that much more difficult since they were so kind. Rooms- completely different story. Top 3 most savage hotel room I’ve ever been inside. Don’t let the lobby and staff fool you, turn around and run the opposite direction fast.
Me and my boo came here to stay a night it was PERFECT the room was just right we chilled and talked on the balcony watched tv together it was good movies / shows coming on for it to have 40 channels the bed was comfy 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 everything was just perfect for us I’m definitely satisfied we will be coming back 🥰 clean room , smell good , quiet area everything was just so relaxing !! Definitely recommend to others
They helped us out by giving a place to stay when the Residence Inn over booked when we had booked a week in advance and came all the way from Denver, Co to find out they were completely booked and had no rooms left! The nice young lady at the front counter was really nice and very professional! The rooms were very clean and okay so far as size. Over all it was a pleasant experience!
Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. I was not told I would be charged for parking. Although it was only $10. That’s ridiculous, parking should be included. The biggest issue I have is they have given my information to telemarketers and spam. I booked directly through the hotel. I’ve been receiving 4-6 calls daily, even at night. The only reason I know it was from this hotel is because one of them specifically mentioned my stay at this particular hotel and tried to sell me a vacation package.
The worker that checked us in was very friendly. I wish that could make up for the rest of the not so joyful experience we had. I was promised continental breakfast, which with COVID going on I knew that it wasn t going to be normal, but when I was offered a muffin, a half stale nutra-grain bar, and a piece of fruit I was very dissatisfied and underwhelmed. Despite this I was excited to relax in the pool area only to find out, the pool was only open Friday-Sunday even while we were one of the only guests there. (We checked in on a Wednesday evening and had to be checked out by Saturday afternoon.) The icing on the very unlevel cake was that when we did get a chance to use the pool and the hot tub the jets didnt work and nobody knew how to fix it. These thing werent mentioned on the hotel site or before I went. I was very disappointed and I dont think I will be returning to these hotels for a very long time.
The hotel didn’t have any rooms ready at the time of check in. I was told i was getting half off my rooms and then the hotel charged my card without knowing. One room came without a sofa bed so we could only have 2 in that room. When i called, nobody wanted to help me. i just want my overcharged money back.
This room was disgusting and dirty. There is black mold growing on the curtains and in the air conditioner. This is an outbreak of Legionnaires disease waiting to happen. When I brought it to management’s attention, I was offered a discount for the room. Absolutely no concern for our health.
Don’t waste your money. The curtains are ripped, the air conditioner is loud, the room has an unpleasant smell, some of the lights don’t work, furniture is tore up/dirty, pool is only open on weekends, restaurant is closed, water dripping from ceiling in the lobby, there is a parking fee…..
The staff was very nice and professional, however my room is in desperate need of updating!!!! The furniture is old and worn, couch looked my couch from the 70s. The mattress felt cheap, and the mattress cover didnt fit the mattress you know a hotel is dated when the rooms dont have dedicated USB ports! Another positive was the room was clean. Marriott usually does better than this!!
The manager Amanda refuse to reason with me or help me after staying there just to take my kids to the indoor pool during Covid. Mind you I LIVE 4 miles away in a house i live in daily. The room was not cleaned there was old pants tags and a moldy moldy culvers custard cup next to the bed that my daughter is highly allergic to any refuse to do anything or refund any money!!! Terrible customer service & management! Save youre money! Go somewhere else
Great price, friendly staff, clean room. Pool area was clean and open when we came. The parking lot was clean and while the hotel is outdated compared to other ones, this place is always our go to when we need a little get a way! I have never had a room that was dirty.
Self service cleaning, towel replacements, and garbage pick up. Bathing accessories given to us at the front desk upon request. No food service outside of snack closet by front desk. Poorly staffed with people performing numerous tasks. Entry door worked poorly and elevator was not working during our two day stay. Theres more but Im exhausted.
Definitely the dirtiest hotel Ive ever stayed in.The sheer curtains were absolutely disgusting. The 2nd floor ice machine was out of order. Garbage was piled up outside the 3rd floor garbage can.Everything I touched had a grit and grime feel.I was very happy to leave and definitely took a long, hot shower when I got back home.
The staff at the Courtyard was very helpful and friendly. I love the modern look of the hotel. However, the room we were in needed some new furniture and mattress. The couch was old and broken down. The hot tub could use an overhaul as well: there were very few jets and the water was not very hot. The pool was nice. The prepared breakfast food at the bistro was overcooked and luke warm. Overall, the experience was good. There were just a few things I would change.
1990s time capsule. The lobby and cafe look nice and updated, but the rest of the hotel hasnt been touched since it was built. No issues with the functionality of anything, just lots of wear and tear on all surfaces. No microwave in room and a mini fridge is a special request item.
Stayed at this property multiple times. Communicated that I would be arriving close to 3am and was told I would not be charged for the previous night. Upon arriving I was indeed charged for Friday. As a former employee of Marriott for close to ten years I was a tad discouraged at the miscommunication I received. This will probably be the last time I stay at this location, not only for this incident but the overall appearance of the property barely meets Marriott standards.
Pros: VERY comfortable bed and the room was comfortable and clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.Cons: Parking is $10 a night; not included in overall costs (some nights lot was so full you couldnt even park in it).Internet connection was poor and cut out constantly. Our suite had no safe or mini fridge. But learned that Aregular rooms did.
This hotel is not as you would expect. It honestly deserves $50 or less per night. I was very disappointed that they charged $110 per night and there were no amenities in the room as they mentioned. There was one poorly maintained king bed with 2 night stands, 1 table and 1 TV. No sofa, no refrigerator as they say they have. I went up the front desk to tell them, and the front desk lady said not every room has all the amenities and did not even offered to exchange the room! I would not book here again and if any of you are planning to stay here, make sure you get the room with all amenities you paid for otherwise it’s not worth $100+.
I was sent here for training by my company. I never wanted to go to Flint MI, ever. This is the hotel that my company sent me to because they direct bill. I want to say that this hotel has made this trip palatable. This is a nice hotel with friendly staff. I get a room that the heater made so much noise that I couldnt sleep even with ear plugs in. I called the front desk with my complaint in the morning and came back from training and they had replaced the whole unit, brand new. A great hotel will do that, if you have an issue, they take care of it. The rooms are pretty nice too. I didnt take any pictures because you can see them online. Bathrooms are nice and clean. If youre in this area, this is the place to stay.
Unfortunately, the building is in need of upgrades/updates. I thought I was booking a nicer class hotel. The room was dated and not clean. When I say not clean it is not fault of say cleaning staff. The shower liner needed replaced because of mold. The pull out mattress/couch had a large hole in it. Sheets had stains as did mattress. I hope this hotel can get the updates it needs within rooms.
This is not the usual Marriott experience. The hotel is not kept as clean and maintained as Marriott properties I am used to. I question the cleanliness of the bedding and pullouts and would recommend checking things very carefully. The sink would not drain and after requesting it be fixed, no one did anything. Granted, it was a holiday weekend but lets hope someone follows up and takes care of it!
My stay at the Courtyard by Marriott was very pleasant. The staff was courteous, the room was clean, and it was quiet. The only bad thing I would say is the TV hardly worked, the internet was slow, and I wish the tub was a little bigger. I still enjoyed my stay!! :) 10 stars from me
After a long weekend, and a failed hotel stay at a competitor, we were extremely pleased with our honeymoon stay at the Courtyard Flint Grand Blanc. Having a working hottub with hot water and being able to rotate the tv while we enjoyed relaxing was the night we had planned for when we made our reservation. Having the desk call to alert us our dinner delivery was headed to the room gave us that much needed heads up. Keep up the great work!
I recently stayed here on business, and I was a little less than impressed with the facility. When I arrived the card reader had gone down and I was unable to get a room key for almost two hours. The staff at the desk tried to make the best of it, but I could tell she was frustrated. Because of this, I was kind of stuck in my room and couldnt get dinner until almost 6PM. Also, the tub in my room didnt drain properly so I ended up standing in a near bath-tub full of water by the end of my shower.Because I was travelling on business and my company paid in advance for my room, however, when I arrived I was told I needed to produce a credit card for incidentals. They charged my card $75 and assured me it would be returned when I checked out. Still not returned. I thought this was pretty bogus. The stay was okay, Im undecided on whether or not Id be back for a vacation or recommend this place to my friends or family.
I went to visit my friend, she was very disappointed in how the room looked to be at that hotel.Especially for what her husband will pay when he checks out,It reminded me of a hotel on Miller Road that me and my grandson went too when our lights went out.But if you are into the 60s look, you will be at home.
Stained old carpeting past the lobby. My guest room door was knicked up with scratches, etc. The room interior had old wooden, dusty, chipped furniture. Sofabed was heavily stained and well used. Bed felt like springs were coming through and made for a difficult rest. The bed sheet was also very wrinkled. Overall, the room had very old, cheap furniture, was heavily stained and/or scratched and uncomfortable. Parking lot shows many cracks and the hotel wanted $10 for parking.
Poor customer service! There was no hair dryer or wash cloths in the room. When I called the front desk, Courtney the front desk attendant, told me she could not give me a hair dryer because they had none in the back room and I would need to come to the desk for the wash cloths. Both unacceptable, the both should have been in the room when I arrived. She could have gotten a dryer from an empty room and brought them to me. Had I needed extra I could see needing to get them from the desk. The bathroom was also dirty and room needs updating.
Will not return. Had to ask for toilet paper to be restocked in the restrooms by pool. Had to ask to restock pool towels.. No one was in pool and we couldnt swim until our scheduled time. How was there no Towels if no one else swam. Having to pay for parking for several vehicles for several days is a rip off.
Had a quick one-night in & out visit, as we made our way north. Truly enjoyed the beds; nice and comfy, so I slept like a baby except for an occasional waking due to traffic on the freeway. Had a nice hot shower in the morning and toweled off with the softest towels ever! Although we didnt have time to try the breakfast or other amenities, we can say with confidence that the hotel was clean, the staff friendly, and the accommodations excellent for the price. It was also nice to have a shuttle from the airport, given we flew in very late. It arrived within 5 minutes of calling.
We chose this Courtyard due to its proximity to the airport and shuttle service. We were also impressed, however, with the exemplary quality of employees in every department. They were friendly and genuinely concerned with personal service to us. The usual high quality of beds and bedding made the most of our short nights sleep. The shuttle service was prompt and served us when we flew out and again when we returned. Thanks for a great value and nice place to stay!
I stayed 4 nights at the Courtyard and each day I was pleased with every service I used. The Bistro had great breakfast and service. I used the fitness center which I found to be very acceptable. It was nice to see a washer and dryer that the guests can use. What a treat to come home after all week on the road and have a suitcase full of CLEAN clothes. If you are traveling through Flint, Michigan, I would highly recommend the Courtyard Flint Grand Blanc. Enjoy your stay!
I had a meeting local and it was very convenient to stay at this location. The hotel staff is fantastic. Check in was speedy. The room was amazing. I was selected as guest of the day. My room was upgraded and I received a complimentary beverage from the desk area mercantile as well as a guest of the day certificate. Not sure how handy that will prove, but it was a nice addition. I purchased a breakfast included with my room. The breakfast was very tasty and a pretty good value for an additional $10. I would definitely stay here again if I was in town. Happy travels!!
My stay was good. Except when beginning to shower the bathtub began to flood after making sure the nozzle was up to drain the water. I had to cut my shower short due to the fact. While in the shower I smelled mildew and mold. After the shower and the water drained completely out there was a residue of mold in the bath.
My stay was wonderful! I loved my room, very clean and roomy! Beds are very comfortable and nice! Staff is friendly and helpful! Housekeeping was awesome! Pool area was clean and nice! The only thing is maybe they could do a different breakfast, mine was good, but more choices would be nice:-) Overall everything was Great!
No disappointments here. The staff was very helpful, making sure we had shuttles to and from the airport (even at very early hours). Our room was very clean, roomy, and comfortable. The internet was easily accessible and fast, no complicated logins. We had dinner in the bistro and a few drinks. We were served promptly and the food was excellent. If we are ever back in this area again, we will definitely stay at this property.
Super comfy bed. Loved having the Jacuzzi tub in the room! Breakfast food tasted very yummy. Our AC unit was not functioning in our suite but the temperature was still comfortable. The front desk staff was very friendly. The lobby was very nice to sit and chat and relax in.
Spent one night recently at the Courtyard in Flint. Front desk staff was very welcoming and expedient with my check in. As a platnium member, I was recognized upon arrival and given my welcome gift. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable but the room was very dated and in need of renovation. For the room we received, we also were given our extra towel that was requested during mobile check in which was very nice as this does not always happen. Will be staying at this property in the future if we have further events in the flint area as overall a good deal and clean hotel.
I got a room with dirty sheets, the remote to the tv did not work, poor wifi, I had no microwave when I asked for one and I paid extra for breakfast nd didnt get breakfast cause the bistro was closed. Very upsetting. I also had no clue about parking fees until they charged my card
The staff was phenomenal!! Polite, kind and efficient. The server for the restaurant, a tall African American guy, was quick with the service. The food was exceptional. I was really impressed. I will definitely stay at a Courtyard Marriott anytime. Thanks for the GREAT service and experience!!
My stay was phenomenal. The staff was extremely helpful. They went above and beyond their regular duties. My room was kept in Tip-Top shape and very clean. I received everything that I requested. Dominique was a very good manager and he was very helpful with assisting me with emergency that I had. I cant thank you enough for everything that your staff did for me. Also the young lady at the desk on the night shift was very personable and professional. I will definitely recommend your hotel.
The Good: Front Desk was friendly and accommodating during check-in and check-out. Krystal did try to make up for the lack of TV with a $20 credit. The room was clean. The shower curtain actually worked to keep water from puddling on the floor like so many rooms Ive been in. TV position was flexible, allowing it to be viewed well from either bed, chair or sofa. Closet was large and roomy for business clothes. Breakfast choices accommodated vegetarians, nice to see, thank you.The Bad: Door did not open or close completely without pushing or pulling extremely hard with BOTH hands, requiring dropping any carry items such as luggage to enter or exit room. I did not sleep well, either night, the whole reason for buying a room. The overly soft bed was extremely uncomfortable due to lack of firmness for back support, just like the soft giant marshmallow pillows gave no neck support. Falling into mush 6 inches made it difficult to sleep. The TV was a problem from the moment I arrived. The front desk alerted me after traveling all day that the TV was down for repair. I want to relax after 10 hours on airplanes, terminals and long drives with a big TV I paid for, not a tiny Cell phone screen eating up my data. That was the first night. After the funeral on Saturday, I was in the middle of watching a movie and the newly repaired Direct TV service went down AGAIN! The computer by the front desk for boarding pass printing was an abomination. I wasted a 1/2 hour waiting for it to stop locking up and freezing on screens. I finally was advised to try the other computer across the lobby and had it done in 5 minutes. Also, the front desk didnt tell me about bereavement discount when I called to compare to priceline funeral travel room booking. I only found out about it after Krystal checked me in because SHE asked me. Ive stayed in Courtyard before, usually just fine. This was probably the worst Courtyard experience Ive ever had, especially since I had to travel from VA to MI for a funeral.
Awful room and charged for parking?!?!?Room 324 had a large water stain on the ceiling, above the bed from a leak. The bathroom also had a water stain. The thing that upset me the most was they charge $10 a night for parking. The Holiday Inn next door, that shares the parking lot, does not charge for parking. The Residence Inn, another Marriott family hotel, a 1/4 mile away, in the same office park, does not charge for parking. My wife and I come to the area for the Renaissance Festival frequently and we will never stay here again. I’ve never been charged for self parking on a surface lot that surrounds the hotel. Nice way to treat your Bonvoy Rewards Members.
Nice & Clean Hotel just as they are supposed to be for $120.00 per night... Great check in staff!Down side was the 2nd. Charge for a Parking Fee that I wasnt informed of. They own the parking lot and they are trying to fund their pot hole filling campaign on the backs of their guests $10 at a time... Zero Class
The parking lot is tiny up front. No sidewalk. The furniture in the rooms are outdated and the desk is not big enough to have the microwave on. I know its nitpicking, but honest feedback. I love this hotel because the people are nice and its quiet. Easy to get things done!!
The property was nice. Our room was rather large with 2 rooms with a soda, fridge, microwave and counter space in the living room area. The decor was rather outdated and the sofa was uncomfortable. It would of been an excellent experience to really enjoy the living room area by relaxing after a work day on the sofa as opposed to the bed. Staff was excellent, very attentive and accommodating. Service I must say was better than expected. The bistro had lots of seating and offered Starbucks on the premises which was a plus. We had the breakfast as part of the package and it was very good. You can get the food to go or eat in the Bistro and be served at your table. They also serve a small compliment of adult beverages too during the day.
Suites arent worth the money for a king size bed a jacuzzi tub. No fridge, microwave, stinky room, and just wires hanging from the smoke detector in our room. Not to mention the filthy bathroom. Someone else hair in the tub, build up in the corner of floor and tub. I needed a shower after my shower. Dont expect any breakfast, not even a bowl of cereal, but their cafe will make u a $9.00 egg sandwich. Highly not recommended!!!
This was the worst motel room I have ever stayed in. We had traveled all day and were ready for a relaxing evening and good nights sleep. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The ice machine on all three floors didnt have ice. The refrigerator in the room did not work. There was no free breakfast or coffee which for the price of the room was ridiculous. The bistro which was scheduled to open at seven in the morning was late opening the next morning because the staff didnt show up on time. Then it took at least twenty five minutes to get breakfast. Others waiting were also growing impatient. When I told others of our experience at this Marriott they couldnt believe it. I will never stay at another one and definitely wouldnt recommend one to anyone. I rated this a one star which I dont think it even deserves that but had to rate something or I couldnt post it.
Marriott courtyard is usually pretty above average and this franchise is no exception. The kindest most upbeat staff of any Ive ever stayed. Smiles from the bistro to the maintenance staff, like these guys are really happy to help you out.Hotel is older but kept up very well. Bistro has good food that is trendy. Exercise and pool rooms are up to par.
Overall, my stay at this hotel was good. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. They gave me a coupon for breakfast, but it had limitations - I didnt appreciate that aspect. Also, I dont like that they charge for breakfast, normally. I tend to avoid hotels that charge for breakfast. I dont mind when they charge for lunch or dinner, though. The driveway had some potholes and could use some repair, but the rest of the parking lot was fine.
The hotel was clean - we didnt really interact with staff other than at check-in. I had the sensation I was going to fall out of the bed because the mattress seemed to slope down at the edges. I had brought my own pillow because of a neck issue but my husband didnt. He didnt like the pillows that were provided. They were too thick and hard. Overall, it was an ok stay.
The staff was very friendly and patient with our group of 12U softball players and families! The food is a bit overpriced. Otherwise the value of the stay was good. The pool area could use an upgrade and overall I would say other than the lobby, it was a bit outdated.
The hotel was easy to get to, as it was straight off the highway, and two miles from the airport. I arrived very late at night and had an early flight the next day. After driving an hour and a half, as soon as I walked in, the clerk (Nova) gave me a bottle of water - much appreciated. The property was clean and quiet. Once in the room, I noticed it was well appointed. I used the Internet, which was swift. The bed was one of the most comfortable Ive stayed in. I did not use any other amenities to be able to review those.Full disclosure: Im a Marriott Silver Elite member - I was gold previously, so appreciate Marriott properties. This property did not disappoint.
We stayed here for my husbands birthday weekend and church trip. The hot tub area was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We only stayed for 1 night. The decor was a super outdated. Different from the the other Courtyards up to Marriott standard. But none the less it was a very nice stay.
I had a brief stay at the Grand Blanc Courtyard due to a cancelled flight. the airline placed 75-100 of us at a single hotel after midnight. As you can imagine, the shuttle service and front desk were overwhelmed with that number of people in the wee hours of the morning. The staff handled us efficiently and compassionately, getting us into our very comfortable rooms as quickly as possible. Laura at the front desk was fantastic. She greeted each of us with a smile, asked if we needed anything, and got us checked in quickly. She is a credit to your company, and I would be pleased to have her work in my organization. The room was comfortable, and check out was smooth. If I need a hotel in Flint, I know where I will go next time.
Staff is very friendly. Bistro food is fresh and service was prompt. The hotel is off the highway and major roads so there is very little outside noise. Not many sidewalks for outside exercise. The lobby has been updated, but my room had not yet been done. It was still comfortable and clean. Plenty of pillows and the towels were soft and fluffy.
The Flint Courtyard was a great place to spend the night. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable, although a bit small. We were a little disappointed that there wasnt a mini-fridge in the room, but we also didnt have any reason to expect that there would be. The pool and jacuzzi were a nice way to relax after a long day and the pool area was well cared for and tidy. The breakfast included with our room price was pretty good and went well beyond the standard continental spread. The location is really conveniently close to US-23 and it was only about a 20 minute drive to Frankenmuth (and like 60% of the rate).
Avoid this place at all costs! It was disgusting. The room smelled, was dirty, outdated, furniture was stained, and the room was overpriced. They charge $10 per day for parking in their own lot and it’s crumbling! We didn’t even stay in the room for a minute when we left and demanded a full refund. This place is so gross. We went to a property at another brand in Troy, MI that is so nice and priced more fairly that is clean and updated. Don’t stay here!!
Ive stayed here several times while traveling for work. The staff has always been very accommodating and tried to fulfill my requests. Theyve let me keep my bags there over the weekend and fixed an incorrect transaction a month after the fact. I recommend getting a room on the first floor or near the stairs as the elevator is very slow. Also be aware that not every room has a mini fridge and the TVs are better in some rooms than others.
I was quoted a certain price and was charged a different price! They charged me an additional price to park in there parking lot over night which is crazy to me because where else would I park if I’m staying at there facility! I couldn’t find any of there staff while checking in or checking out! There were people parting and running up and down the halls all night with loud music. There was nothing about my stay that would make me want to return.
The Marriott Courtyard is in a great location. The employees are very professional and courteous. You truly feel welcomed and at home. The lobby has been renovated and has a nice updated feel. On the other hand, the hallways and rooms need to be renovated from the carpet to the furniture. The beds tend to feel really soft. Overall the Courtyard provides a good experience but could even be better once the property is fully renovated.
Really comfortable safe place to stay. Stylish clean rooms, comfortable bed, and quiet halls! Nice fitness center for a quick workout. Parking is adequate and safe. The staff is truly remarkable from managers to maintenance levels. Nice Starbuck food area for breakfast, lunch and supper providing the usual coffee and Starbuck soft drinks and adult beverages! This hotel is close to other restaurants within short driving distances. Located off of I 75 and close to the 475 (I think) expressway. Cant beat it for the comfort and safety issues facing overnite travelers!
Very clean, reasonably priced hotel. They have a bistro in the lobby that serves food all day long. Pets are welcome and I asked for a room on the bottom floor. Our room had a small patio outdoor area that was accessible from our room and it was totally enclosed so the dogs could run around a bit. Very nice hotel. I would stay again in a heartbeat!
Every staff member that I encountered (front desk, bistro, housekeeping) was very welcoming and seemed happy to help. Our room was quite large and surprisingly quiet being adjacent to the elevator and ice machine. Only complaint was a slow draining shower and sink. Otherwise the property seemed well-maintained.

2022-04-10Manager made a big fuss to change lightbulb that was not working in the room and asked if we are OK without having the main light in the room. Muttered “can’t take it anymore” and staff informed me that it was her first week at work. Both rooms were shabby and the bathroom and sink was clogged. It was a quick short in and out so I did not bother canceling. I should have.. The front desk staff were nicer than the manager. TV in room did not work. Elevator was not working either. It seems it has not worked often from other reviews I just saw. I would not suggest this hotel to anyone.I am a loyal Marriott member and was very disappointed.Realized the Holiday Inn across the property looks nicer and Hampton seemed to be a better too. Stay away !!

2022-06-12Staff was so nice! They deserve to all work at a better hotel in my opinion. The room was dirty. Sheets all stained up. The pull out mattress was ripped open at the seems. I had to clean my bathroom myself because there was just grime everywhere. Pool/jacuzzi is not working(I should have read the reviews because it looks like it hasn’t been working for over 6 months now) thankfully the elevator was working this time because I was on the top floor. Air conditioning was terrible. I had to use a rechargeable desk fan to keep me cool during the night. The whole family was sweating in there. Also no fridge? I dont get why but I filled my sink with ice to keep some water cold. I should have read the reviews. I won’t come back to this place again. Staff- you ladies are wonderful! You were all so nice. Also the food was good in the morning!

2022-04-28The was honestly the worst hotel I have stayed at. Everything is out dated and worn horribly. I expected more from the Marriot brand and the price I paid for my room. When I arrived at the hotel I noticed water damage at the front desk which was unattended. The restaurant was closed and the common area was dirty. The pictures they have on the website are extremely misleading. After checking in I discovered the elevator was broken, the fitness center was closed, and the pool was closed. This was not disclosed to me by the person checking me in or when I made my reservation. When I got to my room I noticed torn curtains, a threadbare blanket on the bed, and an extremely work sofa. My room had a coffee maker but no coffee, cream, or sugar. The toilet did not flush properly and you had to hold the handle down for an extended period of time for it to flush.the TV did not work properly nor did two lamps I. The room.I stayed at the hotel for my friends wedding. He advised that I not take a shower if I could avoid it as he still had standing water in his tub from his shower the day prior. He told.me.when he spoke to the front desk they told him it would drain eventually.Sleeping was another challenge. The bed was old and I could feel every spring digging into my body as I tried to get comfortable. Even after a night of celebration at my friends wedding sleep did not come easy. There are many hotels in the immediate area and I have to imagine that any of them would offer far superior accommodations than this hotel did. Avoid this place unless you have no other choice.

2022-05-22This place is a dive. First time I have ever checked in to a hotel and not unpacked. I should have picked up on the clues during check in. I was told the pool and hot tub were not working and that the elevator also did not work. The room looked like it had not been updated since the place was opened 40 years ago. I couldn’t look out the window to get a clear view of the trash and garbage all over because the window was made of plastic and it was badly scratched up. The toilet did not work. The bed did not look clean. The place was awful.I have happily stayed at many other Courtyard Marriotts. Do not stay here.

2022-05-07I wish I would have had time to read the reviews! It was a late night check in and I am a loyal Marriott customer and assumed it to be par to standard. This location should be closed! The elevator, gym, pool and sauna have been out for 6 months. There was no mention of that when I called or checked in. The rooms are filthy and very outdated.Do Not Stay Here!If it wasn’t so late at night I would have left and demanded my money back.

2022-02-22We had reservations for Valentines Day.., the elevator was broken, had to walk up and down from the top floor. The pools closed which was the whole reason why we booked this hotel. (Could have got a better one for a cheaper price) Once we got there, the receptionist claimed our credit card didnt go through & she needed to charge an additional $30 for parking and essentials... (We didnt know what she was talking about) sound like a scam.

2022-05-07My family reserved 2 room with 2 beds in each. They were here for the sister funeral. When they tried to get their room they couldnt get what they reserved. They had different rooms on the second floor but the elevators were broke down. The family can not climb stairs. They put them in one room with 2 beds and one room with 1 bed. When I asked how they were going to be compensated I was told they were not going to. My family is not happy with this place.I would not reserve any rooms from here abecause you cannot count on your reservation

2022-02-08We have loved staying at Marriott Courtyard hotels in the past, but our experience has been going downhill for the past few times. This has been much less than stellar. The elevator wasnt working, the pool/hot tub, etc were out of order, there was no breakfast available due to we didnt receive our delivery (told that by staff member), room was dirty, outdated, and uncomfortable. When we checked in, the young lady behind the counter was very friendly. The 2nd night, her demeanor was completely opposite. So sad. We have decided to stop going to Marriott properties.

2021-12-13Marriott hotels used to be reliable for cleanliness and being a little more upscale, but this one was feeling like it needed a bit of attention. The window in our room was slightly open and wouldnt shut, so we had a draft all night long that kept kicking the heat on. We asked to be moved,, but we were told there were no other king rooms available when the hotel seemed like it was pretty empty. And for the price point of the room, one would have expected basic amenities like a fridge and microwave, which are almost standard these days, but the only extras were an iron and a hair dryer. We were also supplied with only one washcloth for two people and two conditioners instead of a shampoo and conditioner, but we made do with what we had. Im sure that was just an oversight on the part of housekeeping. The couch was pretty broken down and had stains on it, and there were remnants of tape all over the room like someone had hung banners for a celebration in a previous stay that no one had cleaned up.On the upside, the bed was comfortable, which kept me from giving only 2 stars. I decided that having a comfy bed was at least worth the upgrade.

2022-06-21Positive: It was quiet at night and I felt safe. The staff always greeted me if I passed them in the hall. Negative: If there was any breakfast available, it was gone by 10:00. I went to another restaurant to eat.
