I’ve been going to Maria at Cream for more years than I can remember, before Cream was even at this location and even when she worked at other shops. One thing for sure is that Cream is better than ever and Maria is still the Downriver Fadequeen. She works hard and does her best to juggle her passion of being a world class Barber and being a great mother to two beautiful girls. Her work is by far the best in town and just like anything of great quality it’s hard to get an appointment unless you’re paying attention. Lol This shop does its best to give every single person who walks out of there feel their absolute best and I just don’t know how anyone could have anything bad to say about it. I have respect for all the barbers who work there. Cream Barber & Shop customer for life.
I have only ever used one barber at Cream, Maria. This review applies specifically to her. She is incredibly unprofessional. She has no patience, empathy or flexibility when it comes to having to reschedule an appointment in the case of sickness, yet she is incapable of sticking to her own schedule and is routinely 20+ minutes late to your appointment. The absolute worst part, is that when we left an honest review about this after our last experience, she blasted us on social media. Im baffled that one would represent themselves and their business this way. Incredibly disappointing.
I cannot say enough great things about Casey! He has been extremely patient with our son who has been less than cooperative for the majority of our visits! Even with a complicated and moving kid, Casey has remained patient and done an excellent job with the haircut. Casey is always on schedule and has been more than accommodating to work with our schedules! Even when my son wasn’t a fan of haircuts, he only wanted Casey to do them regardless. Today he did AMAZING due to the consistency and patience Casey has shown him!! Also, as a mom, there have been plenty of moments I wished he would have behaved better and calmed down, Casey was always understanding and never made me feel that we shouldn’t take a child to a shop like this! I’ve been going to CREAM since they were across wyandotte high school and continue to do so. I’ve never received a bad haircut as the barbers came and went through the many years. My last visit with Gaby was fantastic. She is professional, very friendly, and made you feel right at home as if your best friend is cutting your hair the second you sit in her chair. I highly recommend her for your next cut as she does it all!
CREAM is the absolute BEST barber shop that Ive ever been to. I highly recommend this company. Ive been going there for almost 2 years now & I wouldnt think of going anywhere else. I always look forward to my appointment. The barbers here go out of their way to provide the customer with a great experience and the best haircut theyve ever had. Their attention to detail & cleanliness is amazing! All of the barbers take pride in their work and it shows. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and genuine. They make you feel like family! West is a true professional. Ive been getting my hair cut here for a couple of years now and I love it. The man is an artist always takes care of me and all the guys in my family. Is it a bit expensive? Sure there is no doubt about it. But with that price comes a higher quality hair cut then anything youd get at a $12 chop shop.

What can I say, this place rocks. I take all of my boys here for their haircuts. Casey H. hands down is the best stylist.These guys provide great service’s for reasonable prices. I don’t suggest walk-in’s because they are always booked. If you do decide to do a walk-in and don’t get serviced , don’t write a bad review because you didn’t take 2 minutes out of your day to make an appointment. 🙄Everyone at this establishment are well trained ... zero rookies here ... I recommend everyone to try this establishment.

This place is awesome. From the second I walked in I was welcomed. They do a great job of bringing back the old Barbershop vibe. I dont usually trust my beard with anyone, but everyone here is specifically trained for anything you want. Im going back for sure. You should too!!!

Been coming to cream for a while now. Always happy with the haircut. Stephanie does a great job. They really pay attention to detail. Easy to make appointment on app too. You cannot reach the shop directly but it is just as easy to reach the individual barbers. Thought 30$ was a bit steep but after getting a few bad cuts at different places for similar prices. Id rather pay extra.
Best hair-doers in Downriver! Every cut I’ve had from several different barbers now have been nothing less than excellent. The owner is a great dude and the staff is awesome. Every one here puts in 110%... some even more. I’m totally confident telling anyone there to just do what they think is right and it hasn’t gone wrong yet.

If youre looking for a spectacular cut and style, you have GOT to see Ashley. Shes been cutting me and my spouses hair exclusively for quite a while. We wont go to anyone else. Close attention and precision. Shes just the best. Would highly recommend, if you care about lookin good, go see Ashley.

Ive been traveling for work for a few years now and I dont get my haircut very often only because of one reason, the barbers always mess my hair up. Except for Cream Barber & Shop. This is the best place over ever gotten my hair cut at. Abe was absolutely great, I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he didnt miss a beat. I will always be going back here to get my hair cut!!!
Gaby always does a great job triming and lining up my beard. There is something to be said about a barber that is scheduled a week or so out. It tells you they do a good job!
I had Rich give me a fade with a part cut in. It has not been 24 hours and Ive got a ton of copliments On his work. The cut looked so good it gave me a much needed confidence boost for the job interview. Would recommend them to anybody.
Great atmosphere! Honestly I was a bit intimidated that the place would be full of hip millennials making the place uncomfortable. I was wrong; There was even a little girl having her hair done by one of the female barbers! Its a welcoming environment with skilled barbers. Their prices are slightly higher than surrounding areas by five bucks or so. Good selection of pomades and swag.
10 out of 10 would reccomend. Scrolling through instagram, i found Gabys profile and seen she worked in the metro detroit area! Ive been searching for a nice barber for my son since we moved and his usual was an hour away now. I booked an appointment and I am NOT dissapointed. She is so sweet and so patient. She made my son feel comfortable and made him look so handsome! Went from Joe Dirt to mr handsome 😍😍 haha. Thank you Gaby!

Stopped in here to get my sons hair cut spur of the moment. He was in a chair in minutes. Tanner did an awesome job with my fidgety 9 year old. He took his time cut my sons hair exactly the way he wanted it. We were first time customers but now my son refuses to go anywhere else!Awesome service!

I have attempted to receive a haircut at this barber shop on 2 different occasions. I work in the healthcare/rehab type of work so my hours are not always reliable. The two occasions I tried to receive a haircut here were at around 5:50pm (which I understand is close to closing but my haircut is pretty much a buzzcut) and was denied we are closed on a 6 oclock close day. I gave the benefit of the doubt because again, it was around 5:50 on a 6 oclock close day. I went back on a day I got out early from my job which does not happen often and walked in at 5:28 exactly (on a 6 oclock close day) with absolutely no one else in the barber shop besides 2 workers . The gentleman asked if I had an appointment, and I said no and before I was able to explain my situation he said we are about to close, sorry about that man and I was refused a haircut once again. I dont know if they have some really crazy important things to do on a Wednesday at 530pm, to close a half hour early and refuse service, or they just do not care about the customers after a certain time period in the day, but I will never walk back in to that barber shop again.
Customer service is terrible. Tried making an appointment multiple times, kept canceling and saying he was booked. Made an appointment 3 days later and as soon as I get in to sign in realize that they gave my appointment to a walk in. Never going back here again. Way overpriced for an average haircut. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.

I really wanted to like them...I booked the presidential for both my husband and my son-in-law. This is Creams highest level of service.My husband arrive 15 minutes before his appointment and was told to go to the area where clients with appointments check in. The receptionist couldnt find their appointments; in the meantime, several other clients came in to say they have the same appointment time. My husband was told the barber was running late while another barber tried to reschedule the overbooked clients.Needless to say, my husband sat for a half an hour while no one updated him on the situation and ended up leaving. I understand that mistakes happen and sent a private message to Cream explaining the circumstances and if something could be done. Its been two days, I know that theyve seen the message, but they never responded.I would have preferred to call the owner but the business line has been disconnected.
Went for a shave and the straight razor he used pulled on my hair too much. Gave me mad bumps..still wanted 25 bucks hahah. Lady Janes did a better job
The haircut and beard care was great. The guys were alot of fun and the environment was very punk/hipster. A stellar twist on the modernization of the old barber shop.

You really dont know what it is to go to a REAL barber shop until you go here.... only real craftsman who ABSOLUTELY LOVE what they do.. work here...I dont like to criticize others so I wont... I will just say....it is a much different experience than anywhere else you will go....Ive seen West, Chuy, Maria and Stevie at work,....... they are Masters at what they do....Great experience....Thanks guys..... I booked an 11 a.m appt. Showed up at 1030 waited around till 11:15 just to get told that he booked me for 11a.m the day i called. But I called at 5 p.m . makes no sense so they turned me away after waiting 45 min because they cant make a proper appt. Not happy not good way to treat a customer.

2022-01-29My experience at Cream was amazing. I received a haircut from a different chain shop, and the cut was terrible. I have never been to Cream before, but I have seen them on Facebook and knew they could fix it. I had the opportunity to meet John, who went above and beyond to accommodate me! I will definitely be back! I really appreciate John for taking the time to fix my hair.Thank you for the exceptional experience!

2022-05-24Went here for a hair cut and beard line up and trim for my wedding, my appointment at competitor was canceled becuase I was running just a few minutes behind, Casey got me in an took care of me, and honestly I never knew I would be so angry not knowing I could look that good after a hair cut. I plan on going back and keeping a fresh look going.

2021-12-26Hands down the best barber shop- great service, atmosphere, and cuts too. Been seeing Casey for almost 6 years now and I dont trust anyone else. They also have a great selection of hair product priced the same if not better than online! Cannot go wrong trusting your hair to anyone at Cream!

2021-11-12I had an appointment with Kara at 11:40. I was greeted when I walked in at about 11:35. The gentleman told me that Kara would be with me in a few minutes. He then told Kara I was there and she replied that shed be with me in a few minutes. I waited until 12:05 before leaving. Waiting 5 or 10 (MAYBE even 15) minutes past my appointment time is understandable. Sometimes things happen beyond our control. But 25 minutes, with no contact from my actual barber? Whats the purpose of making an appointment? This way of doing business tells customers that their time isnt important to you at all. My time is important to me and if Im choosing to spend it at your business, it should be important to you too.
