Comment: Our trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas was a good overall experience. The RV air conditioning was a life saver during the 6 day ride. The space inside was enough for us to relax indoors. Some areas for improvement would be to update the Renters Orientation video on YouTube, and to add time stamps for easier access. Adding more detail about the various panels would be helpful as ours did not reflect the same one in the video to check water levels. The water storage went faster than we anticipated after day 3. Some addition feedback would be that we were charged a $50 tank fee after taking the effort to wait and pay at a gas station to dump fluids. I believe this fee could have been avoided if we were given better instruction on how to empty the tank completely. The wind shield wipers also need to be replaced. This a long review but our group had a fun time. I would probably rent here again if updates were to be made.

Comment: It is worth paying extra to a real rental company that takes responsibility for its vehicles, here you will get a dirty, rickety junk. Shame, I do not recommend this pickup point and CruiseAmerica, you only pay for using and collecting money for the renovation of the grat before the sale, you get nothing.

Comment: This location tried renting an RV that was not street legal, they dont care about the legality of the RV nor the concern for the customers safety. they are rude, insulting, incompetent, and irresponsible. none of the RVs on the lot were complete. AVOID this location & read reviews from others on other websites.

Comment: This company was amazing..... The RV was clean, and great working condition. The staff at the desk was managing a lot of business the week we pick up our RV. I will say they have changed some of the procedures when you are a customer... We had been able to use the bathroom if you needed and as I am vintage person... lol. Covid changes so much, however this company is amazing and we will continue to support this business as a customer.best regardsThe Scott family

Comment: RV was not cleaned when we got it. Had to clean the whole inner space by ourselves which was disgusting in parts. Also we got the RV with a broken waterpump - so we had no water the first 2 days and had to make a detour of 150 miles to get to a Cruise America station. When we gave back the RV and mentioned our experiences we only got a refund of two days. Not enough for all the trouble we had. Next time we definitely choose another rental company. Pretty sure they simply transfer the keys from renter to renter without checking the RV.

Comment: Rented 25 RV from Cruise America in Downey, Ca.Picked up on Saturday afternoon and returned on Tuesday morning around 9:am.Easy pickup procedures, took less then half hour, and dropped off Tuesday, with no issues. Will rent again from Cruise America, because of service and also pricing is much lower then competitors.

Comment: Rented a 30’ RV for a trip up North to Big Sur. During the trip up the engine began making a winding noise. We reported it to Cruise America and were told we should be good for our three day trip and just continue driving. We then checked our tire pressure at our first stop and found both front tires were completely worn on the inside. When we hooked up to water it began to leak from under the RV. We found water was leaking from the interior storage area and soaked all our firewood and items stored.When we brought these to the attention of the company at turn in, we were given excuses and told things can be missed by “human error”. Absolutely no compensation or price adjustment was given for these inconveniences and extreme hazards.It definitely appears the RVs from this location are being constantly pushed through with no preventive maintenance or checks between rentals. BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS WHEN RENTING!

Comment: This was our first time renting and driving an RV in general. The renting process was easy and the staff was friendly and helpful. I loved the experience, I have no regrets besides the extra fuel costs compared to a regular SUV; but that was expected. My family on the other-hand, they loved it at first, but started getting motion sickness after a while :/ We did have a long trip though. So with that said, being a returning costumer or even buying one someday is unclear for us.

Comment: The staff at this location are very helpful and polite. It seems that right now they are experiencing their own problems within the Cruise America business and RV units cannot be properly refurbished nor repaired. Our customer service experience with the staff was excellent, however the unit we rented was not.Our previous rentals, from a different location, always came in excellent condition, with a broom/dust pan, holding tank deodorizer pod, extra battery for the smoke detector, and one roll of toilet paper. This location did not provide us with any of those extras, and the RV was in bad shape.The check engine light was on, the mirrors were dangerously loose, the upper cab was separating at the seams, the holding tank pressure valve was releasing foul gas into the cabin, and there was likely a propane gas leak. The whole thing was pretty banged up and we advised the staff that we did not believe that it was safe for further rental.As far as location goes, it was fairly easy to come and go to this pick up spot from the East Side of LA and both checkin and checkout were fast.Assuming you get a newer unit in good repair I would recommend this location.

Comment: The RVs are pretty dated, absolutely nothing fancy, including no GPS and no bluetooth stereo. The black water sensor never worked, and the LP detector malfunctioned and started beeping on our first night, requiring that we take the RV to a repair shop to have it disconnected, and we had to buy a plug in one to use in the meantime. Later, the check engine light went on for no apparent reason. But the customer service was phenomenal. When we had issues with the above, we called the 800 number and get help right away. Cruise America paid for the repair directly and reimbursed us for one days rental fee for our inconvenience, in addition to reimbursing us for the plug-in. The RV worked well the rest of the trip, which was just over 1800 miles, and our family of 4 fared well in the small but very functional space. We would use them again.

Comment: My 3rd time renting from Cruise America. Each time the RV has worked great and the check-in/out experience was good. The first 2 rentals were from the LAX/Carson facility.This time we rented from the Downey location and although the door sign read masks required, none of the staff had masks on. I was a bit disappointed in their lack of adherence to the guidelines.We got to our campsite the first night and the next morning I noticed the rear passenger tire looked low - bought a gauge and the tire was definitely low ~20psi. I put some air in it and watched it for the next 3 days - seemed like a slow leak. I decided to have it fixed while we were staying in one location for a couple days. Turns out there was a screw in the tire. Given the slow leak, I’m pretty sure it was in the tire when we picked it up and the folks in the Downey office hadn’t checked the tire pressure.I did submit the expense and there was no question about refunding me the amount. I think we were lucky we did t get a flat on the road with the pressure so low.The other disappointing part of the check-out was that the staff didn’t run through the vehicle with me. They asked if I had rented before and when the answer was yes, they assumed that I knew everything about how to operate the RV - which was true, but then I was left to check all of the items such as making sure the generator worked, the stove would light, etc.Overall, the experience with Cruise America was good and I’ll definitely rent from them again.

Comment: First time in an RV. Cruise America made it easy. I highly recommend. The rental center in Carrollton, TX where I made the return was especially gracious, but Rancho Cucamonga, CA was great in helping us understand what RV sizes might work for our trip, the Riverside, CA location was amazing in helping sort out an issue with one of the locks, and Downey, CA made the rental process easy. Great service; fantastic experience.

I recommend watching their intro video on their website prior to picking up your vehicle if it is your first time RVing. Comment: The company is pretty decent, have good rates. This particular location is a different issue. They give you dirty, broken vehicles, then charge you cleaning fees when it isnt returned spotless. Some of the appliances didnt even work, shelves were broken and the sink leaked. But yet I got charge for a few crumbs in the stair well. Just cheaters trying to get all the money they can out of you. Save your money, go somewhere else!

They were still washing it when we got there. But it was clean inside with a full tank of gas. No issues with RV during our trip. Drop off was easy. Friendly service at location.
