These RVs drive much better than expected, and serve any need I would hope for during a 2 week trip. The storage is great, the heater and AC have worked excellent. Even better the staff in Mesa member me each year and are friendly faces before and after my trip.

Comment: We rented for the weekend and had a good experience. The RV was clean and ready on time. The staff was friendly and gave us a brief orientation on the vehicle when we picked up. I would definitely recommend watching the informational video they provide before picking up the vehicle. Also, make sure you know where you can refill the propane and dump the sewer and water tanks before returning. When making the reservation we were told we could refill the propane at any gas station, but this was not the case. We were later told we had to go to a U-haul location. We also were not told that after emptying the tanks we had to refill them and empty a second time. This was our first experience with an RV, so we just dumped the tanks and flushed the sewer tank with a hose through the toilet. We thought that was all we had to do, but when we returned the vehicle and opened the valves water and sewage came out. So, we had to pay the dumping fee after dumping both tanks. Besides those few minor issues the vehicle was great.

Comment: 4 hours of sitting on the side of the I-40 highway, semi trailers passing non-stop. The renters guide say we must stay with the vehicle, yet the customer service functionally ignores us. So we have to sit here and wait, while someone somewhere does nothing. Called back to follow-up after 2.5 hours and was told they hadnt started the process. I cant imagine anyone would define sitting in a broken down RV (Required by agreement) on the site of a busy interstate highway; safe.Just a warning to folks out there, if you get a flat tire or other repair emergency, expect for your trip to turn sour quick. If customer service would like to reach out and explain why this is acceptable, go for it.Reviewed on the mesa location, as this is where it was rented.

Comment: When renting the RV over the phone the dispatcher was wonderful and very helpful. Unfortunately they did not do one-way rentals from my town. So I drove to Southern California and picked up the rental RV, gentleman were very nice and walked me through everything. I drove back up to Central California where I proceeded to load the RV and our trek was from California to Kentucky. The first day of our drive the RV had a check engine light on. We called the one 800 number that was answered immediately. They told us it had just been a trigger and not to worry about it and proceed with the trip. The truck ran great the entire trip. At drop off the nicest people walked through the RV and checked me out. Gave us directions back to our farm in Kentucky. Great trip went smoothly can’t wait to do it again. Cruise America was wonderful. All of the emails leading up to the trip were very helpful. They added three little short videos which helped explain the RV and make me feel more comfortable before I even picked it up.

Comment: The Rv was perfect for our trip to the Grand Canyon, it function well I would have given it a 5 stars if it didn’t have a major ant problem! But when I did return to tell them it was wonderful but the ant problem they helped by refunding a portion of my fee didn’t charge me for clean up etc. Therefore they redeemed them selves with that we drove through some major weather on the way back and the Rv stood up nicely to the drive so I appreciate the trip and refund thank you I would use them again very good customer service

Comment: Great service and pleasant attitude from Juan and staff at the Costa Mesa store! The RV we rented was clean and functional as they posted: 5-person unit. Meaning 2 adults or 2 adults and three young kids. Of note is that the RV roof-mounted AC unit is of far lighter duty than on the non-rental RVs you see. Thus, it will not keep up with the heat in Hot Desert environments by design, but is otherwise adequate and a bit loud!! A temp workaround in extreme heat, is to also use the cabs AC with the engine running.

Comment: We had a great time taking the RV to go camping in Mammoth Mountain with a group of friends - hiking, biking, boating and bear watching at our campsite. The RV was fine; the only problem was the tank read outs were faulty. It said only 1/2 full, but the gray water backed up into our shower and filled it up. I had to empty about 50 pots of water from it. I was also disappointed to be charged $30 for $3 worth of propane :( Other than that we had a great time and would rent from Cruise America again :)

Comment: This was the First experience and worst experience the trailer was not clean it was making all kinds of noises there was things broken on it at one point there was such a loud noise the front coming the generator thought we just packed up and went home.We rented it for three days used it one day out of three and that day that we used it we used it half a day and that half a day we were trying to figure out what was wrong with it when we returned it and told them what was going on with it they did nothing about it they didn’t care at all they showed no concern no regard for our experience I will never go through Cruise America again and I do not recommend them at all to anyone.

Comment: This was our first RV rental. My wife and I have been contemplating purchasing an RV since my retirement nearly 6 years ago. As the pandemic began to wind down and emboldened by our vaccines, we finally decided to rent an RV for a two-week camping trip up through the Redwood National Park and down into Napa and then Big Sur and the PCH and back to Costa Mesa. The employees at Costa Mesa Cruise America were professional and most helpful. Everything on our standard 25-ft RV worked as advertised. It was comfortable and adequately accommodated my wife and I. The vehicle itself was travel worn and a bit of a rattle trap. The odometer turned over to 100K miles on our 1700 mile trip. But we did not have any mechanical problems so I guess I shouldnt complain. Maybe they all rattle and twerk like that.The main reason I didnt give a 5-star review is because of problems with the kits we ordered - the kitchen utensils kit and two personal toiletries kits (pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, etc). When we picked up the RV we were informed than they do not provide these kits at Costa Mesa and that we should bring our own. Since we had flown in from Miami that was impossible. The employee than made a call to corporate Cruise America in Carson, CA about 30 miles north near Long Beach.and determined that the kits were available at that location, if we would drive up there and get them before closing time. We drove the 405 and picked up the kits and persuaded the employee at the Carson location to comp us a $30 discount for the several hours of our time this pick up required. This inconvenience could have been totally avoided if the company had better coordination among its franchises. We reserved the RV and ordered the kits 2.5 months before the pick up. There was ample time for the kits to have been sent 30 miles from Carson to Costa Mesa. Or alternatively, state on the website when making reservations that the Costa Mesa location does not provide kits allowing customers to explore other rental options.In every other respect, our experience with Cruise America was great. My wife and I also decided that our future most likely does not include purchasing our own RV. Renting is more than satisfactory and relatively stress free - turning in the keys and walking away from upkeep and repairs is a great feeling.

Comment: The RV was outsourced to ABC Rentals in Costa Mesa, CA. The owner there was short and rude, hung up on when I called to ask a few questions. The RV had a terrible ant infestation that made our trip miserable. The couches, curtains and bed smelled like cigarettes. Two windows were missing screens, which was horrible because it was a heat-wave week and we couldnt open the windows.When I brought all this up with the manager at ABC Rental he just said he cant do anything about it, verbatim. This was the third and unfortunately last time I rent an RV from Cruise America.

During the pandemic our family wanted a clean and safe way to travel and this was the way! The vehicle was safe and reliable. Everything worked great. Tips- use the tablets for the black water tank and do not overfill the fridge. Then storage space was beyond sufficient. We brought inflatable boats, camping chairs, umbrellas, firewood, and so much more. We even had a bike rack to attack to the hitch. I have already recommended this way of travel to many friends.

Comment: Wanted to rent an RV for a long road trip with 2 small kids and a dog. With the growing popularity of RV camping due to the virus the rent from owner sites were not responding. We found Cruse America. They were on the pricier side, but there was no risk of breakdown or malfunction with was. Reassuring for a 1400 mile drive. The queen bed In the back was as comfortable as any hotel bed; I slept like a baby. The RV was pretty wide, so I highly recommend a test drive or have previous experience with bigger trucks. If you get car sick, you will need to stay as far up close to the driver as possible, the back of the RV is bumpy. The team at cruise America was incrediblely helpful. Watch the video! Will rent again.

Comment: Good staff. I rented a big diesel truck from them that broke down (not their fault) and caused a lot of trouble for me. The took care of me without a battle. I left happy, though very late.I will defiantly use them again.Very honest.

Comment: Great place to rent from. The staff was friendly and the service awesome. They answered all our questions and made us feel comfortable with the use of the RV. They took the time to explain how everything worked before we left. Juan did a good job of explaining the contract, and going over the charges and fees as well as the refunds when we returned. Well definitely be back for our next camping trip.

Comment: Rented out 25ft RV from these. Had no problem on my 6 day journey. RV had really really small issues but I can ignore it because Juan & Davids customer service was amazing. Pre and post journey inspections were pretty quick. Will rent from them again.

Comment: Poorly managed facility that employs unethical business practices. I would suggest looking for an RV rental on Craigslist from an owner or most of the RV dealerships provide rentals. This place will charge you for cleaning even if you clean the RV so dont bother. They charged me for 1/4 tank of propane although we didnt even use any they claimed it was below the 3/4 mark. The dial read barely below 3/4 on the gauge when we returned it. Their RVs are very dirty, SMELLY, and uncomfortable.

Comment: Be aware of billing SCAM from Cruise America! Several days AFTER RV return, they have placed an unauthorized charge of $2900 on my credit card. When faced about the charges they started mentioning exterior damage, defecation in the cabin, and empty propane tank, that they accidentally missed upon RV return and forgot to include in the bill. After filing credit card dispute all my money have been returned, but what was noteworthy is that Cruise America did not even respond to the bank when it was asked to provide any evidence of the damages or even produce a bill for them.
