Went to this location about 2 weeks ago, ordered a blizzard with some extras however, no extras. I dont like paying for something and not receiving it. Very upsetting! This was not the first time this has happened with My order. However, this was the last straw. My family nor friends will be returning, I will tell everyone.
I dont normally find myself in this area, but happened to be driving through around lunchtime.This is one of the nicest DQs Ive ever visited. The look is modern and clean, but there are still touches of nostalgia in the pictures on the walls. The service was good and the people nice.I was very disappointed that they didnt have cream gravy to go with the chicken tenders. The manager explained that there wasnt much demand for gravy, so he threw a lot of it out. Thats reasonable, but I was still disappointed since the main reason I stopped in was because DQs have gravy for the chicken tenders.Ended up with a burger and fries. It was all quite tasty.
Today I visited this location only to have the incorrect order given to me. I called the restaurant after I got home realizing that there was only one of the three burgers that was correctly made. James the manager was an extremely rude person who called me a liar and told me that if I wanted to get the correct order I would need to drive 8 Miles back to the restaurant location and bring back the incorrect burgers that they gave me and only then would they just replace the burgers. When asked for the franchise owners name or phone number she would not give it to me. When I asked for the corporate offices number they would not give it to me. This is an incredibly rude and poorly run establishment that I would advise everybody to avoid.
Food is fresh and delicious. A little pricey. The drive through staff is awful. Rude, impatient and always appear annoyed with customers. It has been this way for the five years I have lived here. I now drive twice the distance to the DQ on North Gratiot Ave. The staff on Gratiot are always helpful and customer service focused. Driving by last night I saw they shut the lights off on Hall Rd at 9:30pm but they do not close until ten. That tells you how they treat their customers - terrible staff.
OMG the manager and girl working the drive-thru are literally the best!!! I am obsessed with the pink cotton candy suyrup stuff & my normal DQ switched to the blue (yuck)! Probably to get rid of me lol I know my order is slightly complicated and I’m sure very annoying 😂 But these guys nailed it and we’re super accommodating, so thank you so so much… I know of a few other locations that the managers could use his common sense and customer service skills! ☺️ Thank you again💛
I called to order an ice cream cake and the rude lady on the phone interrupted me to tell me I can just come in and pick one out. The whole point of ordering is I wanted something specific, and I don’t want to wait for God knows how long on a Sunday afternoon to get someone to write on it. I ordered from the New Baltimore DQ instead. They actually took my order no problem, and were WAY friendlier!
Polite service, clean, tasty burgers, and traditionally delicious ice cream treats theyre known for. The parking lot is a little wonky, especially when its busy in the summer and the drive-thru line blocks access to some of the parking spots. Also, for whatever reason, people seem to love gunning their engines right there on Hall Rd., so theres a little bit of muscle car atmosphere
We ordered one thing when we got to the window they tried to give us the wrong thing. We asked for what we ordered. Then a new lady with an accent came to the window to take payment she then said which one do you want. Because I know what you said. I said no. And she said we were wrong and two other people would say the same thing. She was so rude. Will never be back there! Would recommend people to go somewhere else, they get orders wrong and call you a liar when they do.
I have been going to Dairy Queen for the last two years. I must say it is the best fast food restaurant I have been too. The service is wonderful. The food is brought to your table by a smiling server. The food is always fresh and the value is excellent. If you like chili dogs you have found the right restaurant. They have the best hot dogs in town. Fries are fresh. And with the five buck lunch you get a sundae. Keep up the great job DQ.
The girl taking orders on February 15 at 8:30 pm should honestly be fired for how awful her attitude is. Instead of saying how can we help you or anything like that she just yelled go ahead several times and then proceeded to say they were out of everything because they were closing soon. Apparently closing in an hour is “soon”.
Very disappointed in this visit. My order took half an hour to be brought out. When it finally was, it was not my order. 10 more minutes later the correct order was brought out, but my nieces cheeseburger was made wrong. I took it up to have it remade and was given a cold cheeseburger. They also took my receipt to remake my order and couldnt produce it when I asked for it back.
The lady who took our big order was absolutely amazing so nice an patient !! My nephew got to the car spilled the drink tray in the car before he made it in the car lol she helped clean us up an gave a rags even came out to assist and replaced my drinks !! Best customer service everyone was smiling very pleasant visit !!
I wouldn’t even give this place a star. Very very rude customer service and I have worked in a fast food place for 8 years. I never seen anyone be treated like I have. No matter how annoying the customer was. I would never tell someone to hurry up. I could not stop laughing because my friend made me laugh so hard. So I was trying to hold in my laugh and talk but everyone knows that doesn’t work. The girl on speaker was rude telling me it’s busy and I need to hurry up. I was in drive thru for 20 minutes or so before I got to the speaker. Not like you guys were pushing to get the cars out of drive thru. So you couldn’t wait a minute for me to pull myself together. Very rude. I was disappointed.
I love blizzards but for some reason this is the only dq that cant mix them! Every single time my blizzard contains all toppings in the top half and the bottom half is always plain vanilla ice cream.Service is always fast and friendly but Im always disappointed in the end product.
Independently owned and makes up their own promotions, and rules. They have no standards. The owner is foreign and incredibly rude, and cheap. He told my son he was using too many napkins!!!!! The toppings in our blizzards were very sparse. Save yourself and go to a different location.
We just left there, use to be my all time favorite until today. We ordered a medium size hot fudge Sundae and there was very little and I mean little hot fudge for 7 .80, go to the nearest store and make it yourself for cheaper price and a little more hot fudge. Never again!
These people are ridiculous and the worst service Ive ever received. We were blatantly ignored. We pulled up to the drive thru and were told to take a moment to review the menu and let them know when we were ready to order. Then just completely ignored us. We pulled up to the window and politely waved and even knocked and about 7 workers would look at us and look away. They were sitting there on their phones and had no interest in taking our order. We hoped they would decide to open the window but eventually just had to pull away, no ice cream in hand. Very sad night.
Literally the worst Dairy Queen. They are independently owned and a disgrace to the Dairy Queen name. I ordered two small Sundae’s, which totaled $9. They charged me for whipped topping, because apparently, at this location, a sundae does not include whipped topping. They only put about a tablespoon of syrup on it. It was all ice cream. They have terrible customer service the girls are rude and act like you are inconveniencing them. I’ll stick to the $1 sundae from McDonalds.
I couldve sworn that I already reviewed this, but its never to much of a hassle to rereview someplace as great D.Q.! My family loves ice cream, so where do we go for ice cream cakes...well D. Q. of course! They will make any cake you can pretty much think of or they will do their very best to try. They will save a pre made cake till you can get there, and they will add any writing you ask for on the spot. They also have the best Flaming 🍔 burger around. Usually dont have a problem with this location. Staff has always been great until today. I understand mistakes happen, got grilled chicken sandwich instead of crispy. Didnt find out until I was home and Called to see if I could go tomorrow to get a remake. They want me to bring it up tomorrow so Im out of dinner today and then whoever answered hung up on me. Im not trying to get something for free. He didnt even apologize, and I feel like the bad guy for even calling about it.Way to see the positive intent in your customers.
I come to the store all the time because I love their food but this time they messed up my order then claimed the only way they could fix it is if I brought the mistake back! I have never seen customer service handled this way! I threw my sandwhich out because Im pregnant and everything gives me heartburn and I went through rush hour traffic for you to tell me you cant fix it! I wont be back.
I was disappointed because the teenage girl who took my order did not listen to what I wanted. I thought she put in the register wrong so I repeated it again and she replied I heard you, I got it and smiled. When I got my blizzard it was not what I asked for. The place wasnt busy either. Instead of asking or saying anything I just left because I was frustrated.
Blizzards had a decent amount of toppings, but the ice cream looked a little melted and was it not mixed at all, 2/3 was just vanilla. They also do not participate in the upside down blizzards! Ive seen these complaints on other reviews so it seems that they dont care to fix these complaints.
Ordered two blizzards, one large $4.99 heath and one medium $4.29 cookie dough. Ended up with basically two cups of ice cream. After eating the top layer all the toppings were gone and the rest was just ice cream. If I wanted ice cream I would have ordered ice cream! This was the case the first time I came here and thought it was a fluke, its obviously not. Seems exceptionally expensive for ice cream, completely disappointed and will not return.Something to be said about their 2.7 star rating!Please DQ owner (of this location), please feel free to contact me.
After the movies tonight we went to Dairy Queen on Hall Road. Ordered food to go. I thought theyd make the dessert after our food was made. Nope. They made it right then and let it melt while our food was cooking. So when they brought me my food and started packing up the desert, I was like hold on right there. The desert has already begun to melt? While I drive home it will be that much more melted. I want new ones. The girl behind the counter rolled her eyes at me. Thank you for that. Ill be calling the manager tomorrow. That is completely unacceptable!! I give this place food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. And for the girl making my desert 0 out ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️It bothered me so much I contacted corporate about this poorly run location tonight.
Horrible! Ordered 2 small blizzards, pumpkin pie and added cheesecake in both. Got them, they didnt flip the blizzards like there supposed to, started eating them and it was liquid so no wonder why they didnt do the flip. Seeing as we paid for extra pieces we both didnt have really any pieces of pumpkin and definitely didnt have any cheesecake. Tasted horrible and for paying that much we really felt ripped off. Go somewhere else or buy a tub of ice cream from meijers.
Gave me a melted ice cream cone in the drive thru..... my cone was dipped but I was 4th in line in the drive thru so it seems like it was made as soon as I ordered it so when I finally got to the window (6-7min) the ice cream cherry dip had already began to break down. I’ll never order a cone again if there’s a long line in the drive thru.. I should have just refused it
This place has the rudest staff. Good customer service starts at the top and the owner is the rudest worker at this establishment! At my most recent visit at drive thru, they refused to accept coupons that they gave out. I handed them a card purchased from LCN with a 10% off purchase and they tried to not give the discount and just hand me my card and receipt thinking i wouldnt notice. I highly recommend every customer to check their receipts.A previous visit a few months ago the owner refused to accept paper dollar gift certificates. They are what used to be purchased before gift cards became popular. Some dairy queens still have them and every Dairy Queen is supposed to accept them. This place is awful awful awful! They also dont mix blizzards to the bottom so half the cup is plain vanilla!
When our family visited their location, the woman taking our order dropped cups on the floor, picked them up and but them back in the storage to be used for the customers; the manager was watching the whole thing. We did order, when they brought out our order they were missing my husbands fries. The only table available to set at was dirty and sticky. After 5 minutes of watching people after us get their orders with fries, my husband went with the receipt to ask for his fries. The woman delivering the orders said we are busy you will have to wait! I then went to ask to speak to the manager to complain, his response was sorry we are busy. We should have been given our meal to eat together and when they couldnt deliver they got nasty attitudes. We will not be returning to this location, as their customer serve is horrible.
Just went today and not only were the employees rude and made us repeat our order 4 times, but the blizard was 2/3 vanilla... Seeing other reviews that this has been a constant problem, they will no longer be getting my service or my friends. Might as well go to Sanders down the street for ice cream.
I eat lunch here a couple times a month as its close to work. Always spotlessly clean, and the staff seem better-trained that most restaurants. I met the owner today, who I always see there. I think this makes a big different over many other businesses. This man clearly takes pride in his business.
The biggest problem for me is the blizzards... no dairy queen Ive ever been to mixes them well (bottom 2/3 are plain vanilla ice cream) and this one specifically says they dont participate in the upside down blizzards... like, thats supposed to be the standard so theyre directly saying they refuse to live up to DQ standard. I go to Sonic down the street when I want well mixed blizzard type treats instead. Very diappointing. I shouldnt have to doctor it up at home.
Place is good just as any DQ the only issue I have is that they do not take the coupons that are in the DQ app and on their sign it says not at this time. Well we tried in the summer and they had the same sign. Will not go there again because of that I will find somewhere else to go.
Wrong times listed. They have always been open till 10pm. Friday night after a football game get there at 9:40 and the kids working have it locked up stating hours are 930pm. Who closes a 1/2 hour earlier than posted times? So many people where pulling in and upset they closed early. They missed out on tons of business and upset a bunch of customers who drive there as it was showing open.
Please explain to me your Protocol for unhappy customers. As with all companies large or small customers generally get treated with some sort of empathy for their inconvenience. Unfortunately at this particular location only sarcasm; rudeness; and the inability to speak to the human race with respect is not a qualification needed to work here. I am absolutely appalled at the way I was treated for merely stating the facts: A. I made a purchase at this location with my hard earned money and chose to do so freely. B. I received an item that was either clearly false advertising or I was poorly informed at several other DQs and on commercials. C. I was treated extremely rude by a manager by the name of Sam. I made 3 blizzard purchases, 2 strawberry cheesequakes and 1 heath. I live approximately 7-8 minutes away once I got home, I took several bites and to my dismay no cheese cake, I called my daughter over and asked to see hers, no cheese cake. Every single time I purchase this blizzard the cheese cake is clearly visible. I was a bit upset and just wanted to make management aware that I ordered something and did not receive it. I called and asked to speak to the manager, a young man by the name of Sam came on the phone I advised him of what happened and he said to me Just what exactly do you want me to do?I said, well Im sorry I dont know what your protocol is sir but I would assume if youre the manager you would know. He tells me to put my Blizzards in the freezer and bring them in tomorrow to show management? I said You want me to take ice cream away from my daughter? He said thats what I said. What happened to standard rebuttals : maam I apologize for the inconvenience if you are unsatisfied may I have your name and number etc.....Frankly, never have I been to a DQ with such disregard for customers in my life. I was disturbed by his comment and in all seriousness if this DQ is a Franchise, well they are definitely making the DQ brand something loathsome in my area. I obviously didnt take the ice cream away from my daughter but what I can tell you is that I will not return to this DQ again.
This place is AWFUL!! I went in to redeem a birthday voucher for a BOGO Orange Julius, and they didnt accept it, and the employee I dealt with was quite rude.I said, This is Orange Julius, right? The employee responded yeah, then I asked why they didnt accept the coupon. She said, I dunno. It was within the expiration date, and all the other terms of the offer were met. The employee was not at all friendly during this exchange, and the experience was highly embarrassing in front of other customers. In my opinion, this is a pretty crappy way to treat customers, and especially given the substantial competition the business faces in the immediate area.I will NOT be back to this location.
On June 30, 2015, after traveling 20 minutes to this location I was the 5th car inline for service and it was approximately 10 minutes before closing. The vehicle in the front was serviced and we all moved up. The 10 oclock hour came the lights were turned off and not only did they not service the vehicles currently online the staff totally ignored all of us as we were forced to drive by while they turned their backs to each vehicle. I left this location feeling disrespected and not appreciated as a frequent customer. Will I return, maybe but in a far distant future.
I was refused a cup of water with a meal I purchased at the Drive Thru. I was told I would have to purchase a bottle of water at the drive-thru. Last time I checked, MI. state law requires a restaurant to serve water with a meal, I spoke with the store manager and she still refused to serve me a cup of water she told me I was more than welcome to give her one star or even no stars.

2022-06-28If you like melted ice cream- this is the place to go! (6/28/21 @7:15pm) because I normally get a sprinkle cone for my daughter & a blizzards for myself. They handed me a dripping cone and my blizzards even seemed to not look as solid as it normally would be.I called the manager as soon as we pulled off to inform them, didn’t want to complain or be rude. He blamed the weather and it’s currently 75 degrees with a breeze… I told him that’s how it was when it was given to me and I was going to say something but decided not to because why remake a order for the same outcome?I also informed him that the drive thru lady was rushing me. As I told her I need a moment to review the menu, she said okay, then asked if I needed anything else. I informed her I needed to look over the menu for myself and she said okay.. & asked again if I was ready.I was also cleaning the sprinkles off of myself before pulling away and they were ready to get the next order out the window.. I should have said something, but felt I shouldn’t have to be put in that position of asking for my ice cream to be remade because it was already melting as the lady handed it to me.I understand they don’t want to make people wait, or they need to reach a certain goal/time to clear off the screen, but the efficiency failed this evening. I’ve never had a problem before with the cone or blizzards being so “runny”. Maybe they need to get their machines checked or wait to hear a complete order before preparing the order.

2022-04-12The food was hot and fresh. Burgers were juicy, buns were super soft. Onion rings were crispy and delicious. The blizzards were a bit of a bummer, they werent mixed up very well. The girl scout thin mint blizzard was inconsistent, there would be swirls of dark green mint syrup and then just a bunch of vanilla ice cream, very little cookies/mix-ins were in there. Service was nice and the drive thru wait was minimal

2022-05-06I visited this dairy queen yesterday and was very disappointed. I had a 20 gift card and between my kids chicken finger kids meal, my number 1 meal, and another kids grilled cheese meal it was 22 dollars. I had to keep asking questions at the drive through as the teller didnt seem interested at all in my order. Fries were burned and slim to none on all the orders. The only good thing was the kids ice cream cones. This was at around 5pm. Not bashing just justifying getting what we payed for which wasnt pleasant.

2022-03-13I ordered a large Turtle Blizzard with extra pecans and the entire bottom half was just vanilla ice cream. Once I got home, I called to let the location know and they said there is nothing they can do unless I return the ice cream. I asked to speak to the manager, Alex, who then offered me a 10% discount on my next purchase. I informed him I would file a formal complaint and when I was about to give him my name, he just hung up on me. I called back to a busy signal. Then I called back for the third time and spoke to another employee. I informed her that the manager just hung up on me and that I would like to speak with him again. She said, sure, and once he grabbed the phone he hung up on me again. I called back for the fourth time and asked another employee for his name. The employee said wait I will get him, and after about a 3 minute wait he finally answered the phone. I explained how rude he had been for hanging up on me and that I still havent given him my name for the 10% coupon. He said I was over exaggerating the situation. I asked to speak to someone above him and he said he was the highest person to speak to. I am completely appalled at his behavior and his extreme lack of costumer service. Very disappointing experience and I will never be returning to that Dairy Queen.

2022-05-13The blizzards are mixed terribly at this location. I ordered two different kinds and both were only mixed in the top third of the large cups. Other than this, at least they can make a basic vanilla sunday with sprinkles, cannot really mess that up.

Medium sizeOne Snicker Blizzard without chocolate sauce added in (just vanilla icecream and snickers pieces). Medium sizeWhat we received:Cherry chocolate blizzard-plainSnicker blizzard w/ chocolate drizzle AND chocolate core.Only the cherry bliz was ate.The rest was trash as i dont like the way it was made. If i asked for no extra chocolate to be added in (because i mean, if im paying for it it should be made the way i asked and i DONT like chocolate drizzle or that nasty core AT ALL).After waiting in that LONNNNNNG line and paying for what we ask for, she still got it wrong. We even made sure to repeat the order, and she still took it down wrong. Smh. Never again.Owners: please put more effort and interest into your company. Make sure your not just hiring who ever. Also, retrain your managers. They are rude! We shouldnt be the ones keeping it Business at all times as a customers. Its their JOB. If i give respect, should get it back.Edit: after reading reviews, i see im not the only one this happened to in the past week let alone month/year. And from what i see the owner dont care, so just go to a diff location where they do care. I hear the one on N.Gratiot is better. Will go there from now on. DO NOT GO HERE!!

2022-03-01Stopped in to make a little promo video as a Thank You to Dairy Queen for all the support they have shown our local kids and Childrens Miracle Network. Mr. Sam was fantastic and let our LO help make her own blizzard and pick her toppings. Thank you Mr Sam and Thank you Dairy Queen!
