Dairy Queen (Treat) in other cities:
We love getting an ice cream treat from DQ during the summer and this is the closest location. The only complaint is that the drive through is not long enough causing people to have to block traffic (which happens often at peak times). Another small remark is that it is both difficult to place an order where you can understand the employee (volume is so low) and them being able to hear your order correctly. Please fix the drive through as the speaker/mic issue makes the backup even worse!
Who doesnt love themselves a Blizzard or a dilly bar in the summer? If you answered no one under 99 in Berkley, you would be right, and you will learn this fact if you dare to approach the drive thru on any day of the week between April and October. DQ serves up the typical soft-serve ice cream, thick blended shakes, and ice cream with more cookies in it than the cookie aisle at Meijer. Youll find this outpost well-staffed by happy teenagers harried somewhat by the pace and popularity of their franchise. Ive heard it not-jokingly said DQ is the most profitable business in the city, and that may be borne out seeing what it was valued at on Zillow. That said, spare yourself the agony and order ahead or go in person after walking up from one of the municipal lots on 12 Mile. The traffic backups on weekends or Friday night going eastbound on 12 Mile are *horrific*, and theres always one entitled yahoo who blocks both lanes of traffic trying to get through. Going into the shop is mildly more controlled. Traffic being snarled and teenagers on bikes completely oblivious to the risk, or bad drivers shoving their ways in, just make for a definite headache. That said, youll get your order usually correct and made with skill and enthusiasm by the hard-working staff. They manage ENORMOUS volumes with a lot of dignity, probably collapsing into the freezer in exhaustion when the last swirl cone leaves at the end of the day.Sadly this is NOT a brazier and its not open during low-volume winter months.
The kindness of the employees and the effort put in by the manager, I couldn’t have been more satisfied with their service. To top it all off... my daughter loved her Birthday cake and the taste of this cake was amazing! Thank you for your professionalism will be ordering more from them! :)
Stop serving blizzards when a customer asked to have it bagged. Then we ask why wasnt it flipped? You say we dont flip when they are bagged because the owners wife said dont do it and that she said she didnt care if her husband did it. UH YES YOU DO!? DOESNT MATTER IF IM GETTING A BAG OR NO BAG FLIP IT, OR PROVIDE A FREE BLIZZARD. SIMPLE RIGHT? FOLLOW THE POLICY OF DQ BE FAIR TO YOUR CUSTOMERS WHEN WE CATCH YOUR MISTAKES!
Three words, Peanut Buster Parfait!!! My favorite!. This location never fails to please. Very clean. Love sitting outside under the umbrellas or in our vehicle watching classic cars go by and the evening sunset. They even give our dog a pup cup so that he doesnt feel left out of the family treat! I would give them 5 stars if more parking was available. It is well worth the visit when you are able to get a parking spot. They also have a drive thru if you want to take your treat on the road.
Employees seemed a bit racist. My wife and I(a black couple) were locked out at 9:20pm after being told that doors close at 9:30pm. As i knock on the door, employees seemed to try their best to ignore me and my wife. Finally we made the decision to go through the drive thru. While waiting, i noticed a white couple was let in to order at 9:37pm. After receiving our blizzards, we notice that they werent made correctly with the ingredients that we were upcharged for. When attempting to correct this error, i was told by the employee that they were just ready to go home.
Loud and rude employees. We have seen them yell and scream at customers, literally chase them out swearing and yelling with kids around and trying to fight customers they didnt like.Almost got hit by multiple customers and employees driving the wrong way down the road.
On Sunday night 4/5/15 I was in the drive thru at 9:30 no one answered so I drove to the window. I was told by a rude young man that they were closed. I said I had called and was told that they close at 9:30. Then he said well we closed early and slammed the window. I live near by and will NEVER go back there again.

2022-04-25We pulled into the drive thru before 9pm because the neon Open sign was still turned on. There was an orange cone off to the side, and we noticed it as we were already pulling in. There was also a car in front of us with their flashing lights on. As we pulled up to order the lights were immediately turned off. As my husband said hello? We were treated like criminals, were told that they were closed and they saw us purposely run over their cone to get in line. Ive never received such horrnedous customer service, the entire tone of the employees voice was appalling. A simple so sorry we are closed, thats why the cone is there would have gone a long way. We live down the road and can tell you that we will never come back and will take our business to Clarks right down the road. They know how to take care of their loyal customers. I will also be contacting corporate so they are aware of how this location is running their name into the ground.

2022-03-17Always a pleasure. Service is fast, orders filled with accuracy, and the staff is courteous. You had just better know how to drive because the drive thru passage is super tight 😂

2022-05-26This is a unique Dairy Queen! The drive through is so busy it typically backs up on to 12 mile road. I’m guilty of sitting in this line. Well worth your time!🥰

2022-05-09Took 55 minutes in the drive through line for a blizzard on Saturday evening, at 8:45pm. Not worth it. Go somewhere else, they are way too understaffed. Only 3 people were working and not very efficiently

2022-06-1598 degrees out and Im waiting in drive thru for 10 min only to find out theyre not taking cards when I get to order. Too bad you cant get out of the drive through, so still had to wait on both cars ahead of me to get their food.

2022-03-12I’m not 100% who Kate is, but she she called and left my 15 year old daughter a VOICEMAIL firing her based on second hand information from an assistant manager who did not properly train her to perform the duties of the job. We’ll be in touch with corporate Monday to confirm what the proper protocol is in these situations. Even at 15, I’m sure it’s not appropriate to leave someone a voicemail releasing them from a job. My daughter held down a job at another establishment right down the street from here with a lot more patrons and they absolutely raved about her and her performance. Good leadership starts at the top and this DQ obvious lacks that.
