Dairy Queen (Treat) in other cities:
Visited this location tonight. My husband and I both ordered blizzards. Pretty long drive thru line, but it moved pretty quickly. Once I got mine I tried it to make sure it was correct. I ordered a royal Oreo blizzard and got a mocha chip instead. Good thing we didnt drive away and I was able to go inside and get the correct one. I had to wait in another line unfortunately for them to fix it, but they did quickly and apologized. We will return.
Very nice cashier was very pleasant! But they need to put a SIGN on the wall..saying PLEASE MOVE YOUR CAR UP! To many inconsiderate people do not pull up so other people can get into the lot!! To many gaps between cars because some customers wont move up in line! Put a sign up please..love the this Dairy Queen 💕
If youre familiar with Ford Road, then you know just how busy it is nearly all of the time. If you frequent any business that is on Ford Road, then you know exactly how busy that business can get. This Dairy Queen location is no exception to that. There are many Dairy Queen locations throughout this area of Metro Detroit, so if visiting one that youll almost always have to wait at isnt your thing, maybe steer clear of this location.I would like to start off by saying that I have only ever been through the drive thru here so I cant and wont be speaking on anything having to do with the inside of this location. To be completely honest and transparent, that fact that there will almost always be a wait when you come here isnt the worst part, though I do believe it plays a part in the quality of Ice Cream that you may receive when you get up to the window to get your order—but lets back up for just a second. If youve ever been here, you know that the absolute worst part about this location, is the location itself. It sits right on a corner (where a side street meets Ford Road), and the area is small in general so it doesnt leave much room at all for any sort of line to develop in the drive thru area. What little of a parking lot area there is, becomes congested almost immediately if cars start to build up in the drive thru. You can also access the parking lot/drive thru from both the side street, and Ford Road which creates a whole other issue when it starts to get busy.Cars can form a line going out of the parking lot and into the street on the side street, or in my case when I last stopped by, the line will start to back up and run into Ford Road, which as you might imagine can be quite dangerous. When this happens, it also makes it incredibly difficult for other vehicles to get in and out of the parking lot, and this can become very frustrating, very quickly. The other thing about the drive thru, is that its basically a lane or a lane and a half that wraps around the restaurant, so lets say you want to get out of line, or you forgot your wallet, or you have a screaming baby in the backseat that you need to tend to—it may or may not be incredibly difficult (depending on the type of vehicle youre driving) to get out of line and make your way to the exit. There just isnt a lot of extra room to navigate through or around the drive thru in general. This shouldnt be a deal breaker, but it should be something that you are aware of.Okay back to the reason why youve stopped here to begin with, the Ice Cream (unless you stopped for those chicken chunk things, but thats on you because Im not too sure about those). The quality of the Ice Cream here seems to be a bit lacking—though I suppose it could have just been this particular time I was there. What I actually think it is, is a combination of how busy this location is, and the consistency of Dairy Queen Ice Cream to begin with (its just softer and melts more quickly than other brands in my opinion). Couple that with it being busy enough for the workers to try and get ahead and maybe prepare your order before youre up to the window, leaving more time for the Ice Cream to start melting before it hits your hands. While were on the subject of employees, theyre friendly, quick (as they can be), professional, and are good with order accuracy as I myself have never received an incorrect order. When all is said and done, I dont come here a lot, mostly because I dont eat a ton of Ice Cream, but also because of the issues that were aforementioned.Because of the volume of Dairy Queen locations in the area, it just makes more sense for me to venture to the other ones and save myself the hassle of visiting this one. This locations biggest downfall is simply how it is laid out, and that is unfortunate for everyone.
Rating is against the handful of Dairy Queen type places we have visited. Service was good & ice cream typical for DQ. There were several outside tables (with shade umbrellas) whioh made sitting to eat pleasant.Note that the (small) Inside seating area was blocked off - however it was possrble to order from inside the store. They also had a bunch of DQ desserts for carry-out.
So I had a craving for my first dairy queen of the new year. The first blizzard I purchased was on this passed Sunday was delicious a turtle pecan blizzard. Still curious about the red velvet blizzard on the menu. I went back Tuesday and purchased it m. At the end of a long day I was looking forward to trying the red velvet blizzard however, I was not notified by staff that they ran out of the red velvet pieces and substitute it with brownie bits. Thank goodness I’m not allergic to chocolate.I called DQ immediately and I spoke with Kaylee she told me no problem come on back and get a blizzard for free. When asked what size?I asked for the same size of the red velvet blizzard which was a medium. No,I didn’t ask for a large and order a turtle pecan blizzard with Oreos & extra caramel for the inconvenience. The server me I will have to charge you, even after I explained what happened the day before. And I do not live in the city I traveled a distance to get there. However, I feel like if I was another race it wouldn’t of been any problem at all.
Got there before close tonight - had the rude kid shut in my face as it was 1058 and they turned their speaker phones off at 1055 even though there was still a line and their suppose to be serving customers until 11pm. Would go to the dearborn location on the east side. Little kids with no value or work ethic work here and are rude. They bring this business down and I suggest whoever was working tonight get let go ASAP
Long lines, very slow service always, they never seem to have a sense of speed at all and they move like time has stopped! I wonder sometimes how does Management and ownership find all slow staff always? On the other hand, its Dairy Queen so the treats are good, clean place when its not packed. I only go of season to avoid the traffic. Waiting for 30 minutes in line isnt my thing!
Great place! The line was all the way out to the road, however we zipped through the line pretty fast. The staff was super friendly, even though we were there 10 minutes before closing. And, they gave my dog a little ice cream cone! Thought that was really cute, especially being we didn’t ask for it, or even know about it.
Just like every other Dairy Queen the ice cream at this one taste good. But, unlike other Dairy Queens this one has terrible service . The service is SO slow that you will have to wait 30 minutes to an hour for your ice cream. Employees don’t treat customers very well. This is so sad because every other Dairy Queen I have been to has really fast and good service. It’s not worth waiting an hour for your ice cream, drive the extra mile and go to a better Dairy Queen.
Waited around 10 minutes for them to take my order. After paying waited another 5 minutes for the lady to tell me that the flavor I wanted was out of stock. The lady wanted us to get a different flavor that we did not want. Told her to give us an upgrade or discount for the hassle. She said the manager said no. I said no myself and asked for refund. Why take my money and make me wait if you dont have what I am asking for?
Very rude and unprofessional customer service, the so called manager who claimed she was the manager shante when I requested one was obnoxious and trying to dictate what my child should choose to eat instead of just giving him what he wanted. She continued to go to the back and scream out loud and very offending remarks to me and my kids. On top of all of that the employees made the experience even worse for my kids when they all started pointing and making fun of them! My family will never take my business there again!
The training needs to be better. Before last visit I was pleased with this location, they are very busy however attentive to customer needs. When I ordered my usual, the new girl either said cant do that or tried saying it different ringing me up for what she thought, no one was able to help her get it right
Very rude.Lebanese lady collecting our money was very very rude African-American woman was laughing very unprofessional. I will never go to this location again if it was the last Dairy Queen on earth. They seriously need upper management to take a look at who is being hired at that location. It is nothing but immature girls.
I went to this location 5 minutes before closing. After waiting 7 minutes, the open sign was turned off. I waited in line for 27 minutes only to get to the window and have them turn off the lights. Yes, all of the cars in front of me were served. It was so arbitrary. Nobody came out to say we are not serving past this car. They could have placed a sign indicating no new cars could enter the line. I wasted both my time and gas. I am not upset they closed, but I am upset with the lack of communication. For that reason, they lost a customer.
Went here last Saturday on a hot day. The line was wrapped around to the door, but there was only one person taking orders at the counter who was also filling the orders. She obviously did not want to be there and took her time opening up coin rolls while everyone stood there. Not so much as a Ill be right with you -- she just looked at the customer and then went back to her coin unrolling. Wont be going back.
Whether you like fancy flavor of ice cream or classic varieties Iike plain old vanilla and chocolate, the best ice cream flavors are certainly a matter of taste! DQ is known for delicious and amazing ice cream. It has a variety of delicious ice cream flavors. Ice cream cakes are available in the store. All I can say, Dairy Queen got the most delicious ice cream I have taste so far. I love this Dairy Queen! The staff are friendly, courteous, and proactive, great atmosphere, clean place.
Customer service has definitely tanked, they close the inside at 10:30 without notice, employees are rude and disrespectful. I always give the benefit of doubt, so my first bad experience I moved forward without complaint, my 2nd bad experience I had to leave this review assuming a manager would read it and take action.
My mother was asking questions about iced coffee, and the girl was very rude and she kept saying well I dont know, I dont drink coffee then slammed the door on my mother when she wasnt even done talking. Bad customer service. If you are going to hire high school-ers, you need to make sure they dont have a bad attitude. The manager there needs to check these girls.
Im a regular customer here and usually like the milkshakes...but TODAY WAS HORRIBLE! I dont know what they are doing or what is up with the staff but wow it is not good! The blobby blonde working the cashier window today (June 28th at 6:40PM) literally told me there was nothing they could do about my order and was very unaccomadating. The milkshake that was ordered was very soupy and it was impossible to tell that it was even chocolate in there. I literally showed the cashier that it was soupy and she just shrugged me off and said the girl who mixed it did her best. WELL I GUESS Her best WAS UNACCEPTABLE FOR PUBLIC BEST! Please get some better staff who can make the milkshakes like I was used to getting them!
Love it. Surprised to see the drive through line jammin so hard in the middle of winter, but this place cranks out the ice cream! I usually just get the blizzard of the month... Feb wasnt so good, but the March mint oreo knocked my socks off. Will probably go back a few times in March - I am very excited to see what April has in store. My wife gets something very specific each time , and something that I would recommend you try! Small area blizzard made with twist ice cream, and extra Oreos! Wow
This place is just amazing the ice cream here is something from another planet, first of all dont get me started with the staff(there AMAZING) and dont get me started with the ice cream its just unable to be comprehended the ice cream here so amazing. I came here when it was around 90 degrees and boy was thus place a life saver. Highly recommend this place.
Shontay the worker at the front was giving my 6 year old an attitude about his order, so when his father stepped in, and asked for the manager, Shontay claimed she was the manager and refused to give her name while covering her name badge. She was also immature enough to mock my child and slammed his sundae on the counter. While she went to the back, we overheard her rudely talking to her coworkers about us. Horrible experience, NOT KID FRIENDLY, will never give them my business again!
Horrible experience!!! Drive thru was extremely slow and when I finally made it to the window and received my order the total came up to 11.72 so I gave him 15.00 dollars and he didn’t give me any change back. I told him that he didn’t give me any change back so he then gave me 2.74 and by then i drove off and when i noticed i went back but the inside was closed and they didnt answer the door and one person saw me but didn’t come to the door so I left. When I returned home to eat my ice cream I found hair inside my dipped ice cream cone.To top it all off I wasn’t given a receipt. Very horrible experience.
Awesome cookie jar blizzard. customer service was far from par. printed out an online coupon from the dairy queen web site and they would not redeem. wow thats great i was just trying to save $.89. would of been one thing to say sorry we cant accept your coupon sir, but to be rude about it. give me a break. ill drive ten minutes the other way down ford next time. wont ever see a dime of mine again.
Although, always crowded. There is good customer service here. I live in Detroit and will bypass the Detroit DQ located on Michigan Ave. The qualuty and quantity of service you receive at the Dearborn location is worth the trip as a valuable customer. The new flavors , cotten candy and orange dreamsicle hard shell topping for your ice cream is the best.
Store is not set up for the amount of business they get. Frequent car accidents because the cars bleed out into Ford road waiting in line and inevitably someone gets hit. Either the drive thru or the store itself needs to be shut down and moved to an appropriate location.
We been going there for several years my husband and I always have a excellent service, Alissa made us feel very cozy and pleasant evening, I enjoyed the salad wish it was a bit bigger portion, and course the bread is to die for olive oil is nice,we brought several friends here they enjoyed it also they live in Windsor,so overall a great nite,,Please give Alissa a great high five for great service
I see how this place treats their customers my daughter and her friend were in there Wed. June 29th and had a customer go to their car and come back in and use pepper spray on them I called and talked to a manager about video tape from security and they lied and said the cameras dont record but when talking to an employee tbat person said they do without the recordings we have no chance of finding the girl that did this. Thanks youll be hearing from an attorney soon.
Their customer service is down the drain I came in to get an ice cream cake and I asked the woman to get it ready and she said the ice cream cake designer cant do it I asked her can he do another one and she legit ignored me after saying it loud and clearly then I had to drive around the county for 3 hours looking for another dairy Queen that had ice cream cake then I called that same dairy Queen and they said yes they can do it but a different design this could all have prevented if she did not ignore me and answer my question
The worst customer service!!I have worked in many restaurants and this evening as I was walking up the sidewalk at 10:31 an employee went to the door, looked at me, and locked the door. The door said that the dining room closes at 10:30 so instead of letting in 4 customers at 10:31 they locked the door and we left........ and will never be returning.
Dairy queen non dairy menu doesnt have chicken fingers. Blizzards are dope tho.I sat in the line for a few minutes before I backed out of the drive thru, parked, ordered, got my food, and pulled out of the parking lot before the guy ahead of me in the drive thru. He was 2nd in line.
Need to do somwthing aout the entrance I dontknow why peiple line up on ford road what they need to do is direct people somehow to the side street and through they side entrance so traffic does noy lgdt backed up people driving 50 down ford road can easily rearend someone as far as service line may seem forever but never waited more than 15 min great fast service
The line is always too long. It sometimes extends onto the street! The line is also right in the middle of the parking lot so you have cars trying to park or back out while your stuck in line. Not a good location choice. I would avoid it unless youre lucky enough to stumble across a short line.

2022-07-02Really friendly and helpful employees. Its a DQ so its all about the ice cream. My big complaint is the menu. Its the smallest of any DQ Ive been to in many years. If you want more than a slush, ice cream or ice cream cake pretty much your only choice is chicken fingers.

2022-06-22The Ford Rd location in Dearborn has to be the best! They are polite, patient and they package your food and ice cream like they really do care! Not just the ladies but even the men! I’ll drive across town for good service and tip well too!

2021-03-20Great service and the drive-thru seems to be getting faster. A tip: use the drive-thru, but if you have to go in, back your car into a space, ideally closer to the street. It is much easier to get out if the line gets long.Favorites to get: banana split blizzard, Royal New York Cheesecake blizzard, and banana pudding blizzard!

2022-05-17Good food. Long lines, better to go inside for quicker service. The line often blocks the right lane of Ford road.
