Comment: Okey so heres the most honest review, i read a lot of stuff on the reviews about bad customer service before getting there car. but when i went there, i got a realllyyyy cheap price compared to any other place, 700 a month instead of 2500 minimum for competitors. Plus i was UNDER 21. i had a slight issue with the payment processors but the company was so helpful and especially a guy working there named CJ, they fixed my problem and gave me a compensation, they even proposed to give me an. extra week rent free or a more powerful car. you would definitely find nothing better for the same price. I really do recommend this company and would look forward to rent from them again.

Comment: I had called a week before and made a reservation. Yesterday, I went to ask if I could add a driver that could not come the day of the reservation as I had to pick them up at the airport in L.A.(my parents) and provide everything they needed. That way I also made sure that I would not have any problem the next day when I had to pick up my car. By surprise I was asking this question when we checked my reservation and apparently it was not there. The registration “system” is bad. You just call and they make a paper note on that. There is no type of confirmation to prove that a reservation had been made and being there they gave me no option. I had planned this trip in advance and coming from a past reservation I expected everything to go smoothly. Now I have to find in car in hours. For future users as the price is good and it is still a good offer, I would double call the day after the reservation. Still the system should be improved so that things like this not happen if it is intentional when they have made to many reservation’s.

Someone that rented a car from Dirt Cheap Car Rental, hit my car really bad in the back a month ago, bringing so much damage to my car that is now stuck at a mechanic shop. The insurance company will not answer the phone or email. This company allows inexperienced drivers to rent their cars and cause accidents out there. Irresponsible, terrible service. I was advised to get a lawyer and it seems to be the only way.

Had to lay down a deposit of 300, but that was reverted basically 1 minute from leaving the door after I had dropped it off.The staff were straightforward and professional, explained everything to me and were hella accommodating.The prices were phenomenal compared to every other place.They checked for a phone holder for me yo use my GPS and luckily had one, lending it to me at no extra charge.Champions, will definitely use again. Comment: These guys are ridiculous if you need a car that day forget about it even after going online and requesting a quote I get down to the rental place after getting a quote $35 for a 24-hour period for car to find out that they have no rentals for 6 weeks what kind of place does that youve got dirt cheap car rentals on your sign out front of your building you should have cars available that day without reservation so if you want to rent a car from this place you better make sure that you have plenty of time before you need to go pick it up I would have given it a much better rating but I didnt even get to rent a car

The first rental was an older model, but ran perfectly. The second rental was a new model, which also ran great. The staff are what make this place the absolute best! Both experiences were great. They take their time answering any questions, make sure everything is clearly understood, helped me with directions, were friendly, the list goes on and on. Comment: It is very cheap if you want to rent a car for a couple of daysor even for a long term. Their prices are very competitive if you compare them with other businesses around.The only inconvenience that I saw is that if you want to use it out of San Diego you have to pay more for it. You are also charged if you want to go far away, as to Vegas, gran cannon etc.Expectable when the base prices are so low. Anyway, it is good to ask them directly for all these matters, as they are pretty much open and they are used to receive and welcome a bunch of internationals during the year.

They gave me a good deal for 10 weeks rental and the car was in pretty good condition, ran fine. The process was quick and easy, no tricks and the staff was friendly. Comment: Very well priced car rental in San Diego. It is within 5 minutes walk from Oldtown Transit Centre so it is very easy to get to. The car was good. It had a/c and cruise control. Everything worked. The car was clean inside and out. Very easy to book, I just rang and booked a car a few days in advance. Good selection of cars available.

Comment: Rented a Camaro for a very good price being a student under 21.Everything went really smooth and very fast. Diego was really helpful with any questions I had.Unfortunately the car battery died and I had to get the towtruck guy to pick up the car.I got a full refund and I have nothing to complain about. It was an older car so things like that can happen.I would definitely recommend Dirt Cheap Car Rental to anyone who are looking for a nice car to cruise around in.Great customer service all around.

Comment: My girlfriend and i recently decided to spontaneously fly to LA and visit San Diego. We are both students, and dont have a large income.I am SO thankful that i found Dirt Cheap Car Rental on google. We needed a car with a good MPG rating, that didnt need to be the newest possible model and wouldnt cost us an arm and a leg. I browsed through offers of many other car rental agencies near the airport and old town area.For the 8 days that i was going to be needing a car in SD the price i would have had to pay, at a larger car rental agency, was on average around 750$ (with insurance included). This only being my second time ever having rented a car, i wasnt sure if this price was reasonable, however it was definitely too high for my budget.I decided to give this company a try because of their great amazon reviews and their practical location in old town. I am so glad i did.I ended up being able to rent a 2016 Kia Rio with, on average, a 30mpg rating. I was so happy and barely payed anything for gas, even though we were constantly driving around SD. For 30$ i was even able to extend my insurance and take a day trip up to Joshua Tree National Park.The car was in great shape, only a few scratches here and there.I payed around 255$ for the 8 day rental (with insurance included!) - awesome!!!The customer service was great, returning the car went quickly.I will absolutely rent from this agency again! A well deserved 5 stars.

Comment: My girlfriend and I enjoyed our holiday in SoCal with trips to L.A., Santa Barbara, Joshua Tree and ofcourse S.D. with a car of Dirt Cheap Car Rental. Our flight arrived early, so we tried to rent the reserved car a day earlier, this was no problem! Also insurance included and no extra fees if youre 23 years old. Comment: I rented a car for my DMV exam. Hassel free service and a great car for a really adorable rate. The office is fairly visible and has a has station nearby if you have forgotten to refill gas when you are returning your vehicle. They also have an arrangement available if you want to return car after the office has closed. Very polite staff too. They dont allow online booking though. You have to call them to book a car and even a quote needs to be requested and cant be directly seen on the website. But still, great service for a very low price.

Comment: I got a great little car from these guys. They were very informative on the phone, and took care of me my whole trip. I happened to be in San Diego when it was raining, and the windshield wipers on the car were honestly awful. Not entirely surprising since it really tends not to rain there, so how many times a year do they actually get used? Called them up and asked if I brought it by if they could replace them. They said sure, and within a few minutes of arriving it was taken care of (the guy had me test them as well to make sure I was happy).On the last day of the car rental they called to check if I would be returning the car. Turned out I wanted to keep it a bit longer. It was great on gas, and just the right size for what I needed. They had no problem extending the rental, and it was completely hassle free for me. Oh and the price was perfect! So happy to have done work with this company and will use them anytime I am in their area.

Relaxed, no pressure atmosphere with very good rates. I got to their location in less than five minutes by walking from the Old Town Transfer Station. You can drop the car off after hours at their location or at a Park n Fly location near the airport where you can ride the shuttle to the airport.
