Employees are amazing here! They are always honest about pricing and take amazing care of their customers. This stores location always has hard to find things in stock. They have everything available in the case. No dates as to when we can finally buy the item. I’ve had issues with other locations having dates on them to make them more “hard to find” or “worth the wait”. Just to come in on that date and all of a sudden there is a new date on the item. This store may charge slightly more for items but they don’t mess around with your time or money. They always take care of you. I live 40 minutes away from this store and close to another store but will drive all the way out there just to get my items. Thanks Disc Replay Troy for being amazing! You guys rock!
Normally dont post alot of good reviews when I do have to post. Blake, and the staff were very kind and helpful. If someone doesnt mind getting them pizza they deserve a reward. Its not often you have a good team and good culture. I see the guys work together and they personally helped me out when I was in a bad situation. So its my job to let you guys know the people you have in place are doing a fine job. Thank you.
I bought a Nintendo DS from the Troy location and I plugged it in the make sure it worked. The next time I went to use it, it didn’t work after it died, turns out the charge port didn’t work mind you that was only my second time plugging it in. When I took it back they said it was nothing I could do and they wouldn’t take it back...I paid 45 dollars for it, they guy said he would give me a new one which is $49. But charged $22, doesn’t make since and I feel like the right thing to do would’ve been to charge me the difference of 4 dollars since I paid 45 for the original, and after two uses it didn’t work, since I purchased the original from your store. I use to enjoy coming in and giving my business and I am there very often have not purchased 2 game systems and tons of games from this location. After this last visit I’m good, I feel like more could’ve been done.I’ll go elsewhere and purchase my games from now on.
Went to go check this store out cause my dad said they had great Funko Pops there, which they did, they had a good selection. However, when I went into the store no one greeted me saying hi welcome to.. and only a couple minutes later a couple came through and was greeted immediately and welcomed. When I started to look around the store more still no one came to see if I was looking for something or ask if I needed help. But the same couple who came in after me were looking around for only a couple seconds and a kid working there asked them if they needed help. So I walked out, to me if you dont acknowledge a customer then you dont want my money or my business.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience in this store this morning. The store was clean, the variety is great, and Blake was so kind and patient helping me pick out gifts for my kids. Seriously if you ever want someone to take time out of their day to help you and make you feel like more than just a customer, ask for Blake! Ill definitely be returning to this store, even if it is a little out of my way. It was worth it!
This store has a good selection of anime on disc, as well as box sets of shows that are very hard to find. They always have a new selection, and I enjoy the music. Sometimes I have to wait awhile to be acknowledged, but they are always busy with repairs or other tasks. (Good sign.) Id definitely come here for console repairs.
The positive energy from the employees is why 4 stars. Small suggestion, when buying computers/laptops make sure theyre conpletely wiped for the next person. I was stuck with having to buy a hard drive, but after making them aware of the issue they still took care of me. Nonetheless, yall are still cool in my book.
I got reasonable pricing on N64 era games. More importantly, it was an excellent experience, where the employees treated you like family, and didnt interrogate you to end the transaction. They even have a simple rewards program that had me back out the door, before I really even had finished chatting.Glad I found this site, after coming up short at the Gamestop next door.
This place is a really awesome Place. Very professional and friendly. I had an issue with a PS4 that I bought from them and they fix the issue for me no problem no issues and it was much appreciated. I will recommend Disc replay to any of my friends and family members thanks again for the help.
I love this place. Definitely my favorite disc replay. The manager Jake is an awesome kid. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The whole staff is great. Id also like to mention Sam, Clayton and Dan. They also are all very friendly and helpful. Definitely my favorite place to go and spend my money.
My husband and I always love going to disc replay stores. After finding out the Sterling heights location was closing we took the trek out to Troy which had a large selection and we were able to find a few of the things we were looking for. The workers are always super friendly and willing to help! I will always recommend disc replay to anyone willing to listen!
Workers were rude, they waited till we were pretty much shopping to tell us we had to wait outside when there was only a couple people inside the store. People are constantly touching the used games cases and other merchandise but people still have to wait outside? How does that protect us from covid.? Do they sanitize every game case after it is touched? Making us wait outside in the cold does nothing. Thanks disc replay workers, thanks for protecting us.
Sold these guys a few games had a whole stack they turned down some dvds and a few games but they took like 3 or 4 games and gave us about $40 which is pretty fair especially when you consider that most retro game shops and pawn shops wouldve said 5 or 10 bucks is all they can do. Much respect to these guys. If you wanna sell stuff Id do business with them.
Excellent staff, Connor just helped me and was very polite and cool. Its also nice hearing music besides Top 40.Addendum: It was awesome the owner responded to my review. I wanted to add more that my friend and I arrived around 6:30 and somehow the staff kept their cool despite two people walking in the door. Ive worked in retail and understand the pressure. So to the entire staff, you made it to the end somehow and thank you.
Not exactly a place to go and stand out employees make subtle references and inferences when customers are a little different real discriminatory behavior . The young lady works here is amazing treats everyone the same kind good customer service informative and helping you every way she can
I love their selection including the retro gaming isle for those seeking a nostalgic childhood. The prices of games or misc items are usually affordable and the staff is very helpful in assisting customers. This store does not have restrooms so you would have to find one elsewhere. Overall I love the experience and would recommend any people seeking a game, retro game, peripheral, toys/gifts or movie.
Waited in line for ten minutes to get bad service,do they even hire cashiers who know computers? Why does it take three people to check out one person? Why do all the stores seem the same having one working computer to trade and sell and take five minutes to end transaction, never thought Id see a game store worser then gamestop.
Didn’t even buy anything but let me tell, you I felt like I was dreaming I just went in because my mom had to go to the tjmaxx next door but when I tell you this place was a blessing in Disguise. bad day? Go here! Good day? Go here anyway this place made me have a dopamine overload. From the anime to the retro gaming this place will have something for you also they have great music taste
Thank you Disc Replay for existing in general! It’s a breath of fresh air to not have to deal with that corporate behemoth they call GameStop. The guys at the store are super friendly. The store has a good stock of games and nostalgia. Wish there was more Nintendo Switch games in stock, but I know that all depends on people selling games to you guys.Keep up the good work. I will be definitely returning in the future.
I went there for the first time a few days ago. The staff is very friendly, helpful and were great overall. I also felt that the trade-in values were fair. Thanks for helping me out with my large collection of movies that I traded in and I look forward to stopping by again soon!
Dave was extremely patient with all my questions and very knowledgeable on the games, prices, and other electronics. Everything I was looking for (and looking to buy I the future) was in great condition and very competitively priced. The store was clean, the staff were helpful, and I left very happy. Excellent job :)
Todays the second time Ive been here and Id have to say I love the retro feel of the store. Its always a great feeling of nostalgia every time I walk through and the customer service hasnt failed in being friendly and formal. All in all, Id certainly recommend making a trip up here if youre on the hunt for a rare gem, or even just to bask in the glory of their HUGE selection.5 star rating for me!
Came in and asked about a toys to life game and got a very snotty and rude response, they were the most unfriendly staff Ive ever met. I get having a bad day but the employee that treated me horribly will be lucky if I ever return. You could have told me nicely that if you have any theyd be in the case not that, Ive already checked theyre not there! Ive given people there benefit of the doubt at times because sometimes humans show their flaws, but you dont snap when speaking to a customer that bad and then tell them you have better things to do. Nope no more disc replay if I can avoid it.
I was looking for a memory card for a ps2 and this wonderful place was recommended by GameStop thats located in the same plaza. I wish I had discovered this place sooner. Great customer service, friendly and very hospitable are the best words to describe the employees. The store had everything I wanted and more. I went in for 1 thing and came out with 2 games and a TV series in addition to the memory card. Ill be back..... Definitely.
This is a great place to buy or sell old video game systems/games. The crew was generally nice, ran into a person that was rough around the edges. It does take a while to apraise large amounts of gear,so be patient. There is an option to have the store call you back after they are done. Its best to make an inventory (in writing) so that later there are no arguments. Also the prices are not determined by the employees! So dont yell at them!
My son purchased a headset for his PS4 based on a recommendation from the staff assuring him it would be compatible, it was not. We returned the next day to return it and were told that they were only able to give us a store credit. It had been less than 24 hours since it was purchased. I am very disappointed that my son spent $75 on a headset that doesnt work and is now stuck with a store credit that he will never use.PROBLEM FIXED: I received a call from store manager and he offered to correct the issue with the store credit. I am super impressed that I received a call and that it was taken care of right away!!
Slim pickings due to Covid Im sure. Hardly any game systems to buy. There are some games to buy. Couple of laptops. I would call if you are looking for something specific. I walked put without being helped. Nobody said anything to me and there was only a couple there.
Stopped in Disc Replay on a whim for a second computer monitor. The staff, especially a young man named Jordan, was super knowledgeable and friendly. I found exactly what I was looking for at a great price and Jordan even carried the monitor to my car for me--in the pouring rain!--since I was pushing a stroller. Great experience, will definitely be back!
This place brought back so many memories that I didnt want to leave. The staff were helpful and nice. They just chatted with me about video games for a while even though I didnt find anything to purchase. They have so many old school games that range from Atari up to playstation 4. I will make sure to stop in for a visit anytime Im in the area and tell all my gaming friends about this place.
Place has a great selection of all that it offers! Games, movies, music, plushies, even drinks! Always fun to come in and check out new things to add to your own collections :)Everyone is friendly and helpful. Connor is always happy to help in anything I need when I come in.
This place is awesome! The collection they have here is super impressive and so are the prices. I went next door to the other place (not Michaels) and had an anxiety attack because of pushy selling tactics. I walked to my car and noticed Disc Replay, went in and was honestly greeted by the most chill dude. It was nice and as someone in retail, an honest greeting and letting the merchandise sell itself is sooo smart. Disc Replay just got itself a repeat customer. Controlling myself not to go right back and by more games. Thanks guys!
Love this place. Their used games prices are fantastic as long as you arent trying to buy brand new or classic games.Game cube-Wii, PS1-PS3, and Xbox-360 games are all very reasonably priced (Typically sub $10, and often $3-$4) The prices for classic games and current generation games are not great, but they are competitive with, and typically better than, game stop.
I came here Wednesday, September 4th around 1 o clock (just now figuring out how to leave a review, I wanted to leave one while I was in the store) and when I walked in there were two females working who didn’t even lift their heads or welcome me as I came in. I’ve worked retail before and it’s just common courtesy to greet every patron. I was looking to trade in some funko pop vinyls but figured they were busy so I looked around for a little bit. I then started to notice then whenever someone entered the store there was no greet, maybe an occasional glance and I’m thinking to myself you’ve got to be kidding me. Frustrated that I was neither acknowledged or helped I decided to set my bag on the counter when one of the workers finally asks if I need something... I said I was looking to trade in funkos and she said it would be about a 20 minute wait because she was busy with another trade in which I could understand. About 10 minutes go by and a male worker comes in from what I’m assuming was his break. He walks right up to me, asks if I’d been helped which I replied no then he proceeded to start my trade in and was very kind. Overall a very poor experience when a simple “Hi, how can I help you today” would’ve made a difference. I like this location but the service aspect is always lacking.
My wife and I are both in our 60s . We live by the Lakeside Disc Replay ( which has closed ) as you know. We have been to the your Troy store twice in the last few months. And we would like to give a HUGE shout out to Blake who has a huge smile on his face and greets us like we are his best friends.Takes great care of us and makes shopping at your store a pleasure .We look to to seeing hom on our next trip sometime this month .! Ann & Steve
Its always a fun experience with this store! Every time I go here (most recently visited yesterday to grab some manga), the selection is always different, and its always pretty well stocked for every platform, whether it be current gen platforms, retro games, or DVDs and Blu-Rays. The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable about gaming events and other things surrounding their products, and the prices are pretty competitive. Aside from discs, they also carry a lot of merchandise like posters and manga (pretty nice selection too, grabbed some out of print gems that were expensive online). Love going here, and will be back soon!
They have games for almost every system, alongside consoles and FORGIEN MOVIES. I was able to find 3, count them, 3!!!! Studio Ghibli movies that I couldnt find anywhere else. They also have manga, and Funko Pop figures. I always feel super welcome, and now whenever I go to the TJ Max next door I have to go there and just look. So excited to come back.Edit: Look in this case usually means buy. I had to get myself a specific reloadable gift card my husband controls JUST for this store. Usually I can control myself, but I think just the friendly atmosphere makes me so comfortable, especially since I dont play games much. I get self conscious, and most other game stores makes me avoid the community, but since I now feel comfortable here Im making the switch to this being my main game store. Cant wait to adopt a little one and bringing them here too. Love this store!!!
The guy who sold me a game told me that they had free returns within 14 days. Then after I swiped my card and they charged me for the purchase he said, its only in store credit though. Turns out the game I bought was cheaper and BRAND NEW at another retailer. Terrible service and they price gauge customers.
Inside the store, atmosphere is clean and staff is friendly and polite. The phone service however, is atrocious. I called over the span of 2 hours in hopes to have an answer about board games that Disc Replay carries, and no one answered, and no one returned my calls.
I bought a Rock Band drumset from this location and then realized I bought the one for the wrong system. They were very kind and helped me switch it out. The drumset works great! I highly recommend anyone buy a drumset here where it is way cheaper than buying it online.
I would have given a higher score, but there customer service is slow. I feel like Im being ignored other than that. Theres a lot of stuff in this place. They have used stuff, but the variety is there. From sci-fi movies to drama, and action to horror. Ive gone looking for a movie and its been there. They have a selection of collectables spanning from movies to anime. You can get game systems too. And there have a variety games both vintage to current.
Over the years I have spent well over $10,000 in various disc replay locations. Then there was my most recent stop at the Troy store. Oh boy! Manager was in a hurry to close and was extremely rude. He handed me my change told me I had to leave right away. When I told him I wasnt leaving until I counted my money and put it away he proceeded to call the police placing a false emergency call and that is a misdemeanor. I will be pressing charges against him in this matter and I strongly advise you to stay away from this little special boy!
Disc Replay is a wonderful store for people looking to scratch their retro gaming itch. They have games dating from the Atari 2600 all the way up to the current generation of consoles. If you arent into gaming, then they also have a wide selection of CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Ray discs. They even carry a wide range of collectibles like Funko Pops, posters, and gaming accessories. Their prices are the best I have seen when compared to online retailers and re sellers. I have been going to this store since it opened and I plan on returning regularly for shopping as well as the occasional Super Smash Bros. tournament. Keep up the good work Disc Replay!
This place used to be more than fair as far as pricing goes for trade ins, however there are many things that are just insulting...i was going to sell my brand new amazing echo gen 2 the oher day, they told me they could give me between 6 and 8 dollars....then if you see their showcase, that they sell them for 60 or 70 dollars. Thats ridiculous, i understand you need to make money, but 10x profit should be a crime. Same for DVDs. They also just have to make ATLEAST 11X profit, as the most they normally give is 10 cents, yet the cheapest DVD. you can find is over a dollar. Pawn shops give you better prices, and that is saying something..
If youre looking to buy cheap video games or cheap movies or cheap CDs or cheap manga and this is his place to go I have way better prices than GameStop. But... if youre looking to sell your stuff I wouldnt take your stuff here. Granted you will get more money than you would have came stop. But when I took something there that was worth a little more money than I thought it was an employee told me I should try selling it on eBay and I did and it was so easy and I got way more money for all of my stuff selling my stuff on eBay
They need either more employees or employees that are more engaged in the customers. Perhaps both. I walked in (ungreeted), walked around the store, found games and consoles I wished to buy, but no one bothered to interact as I stood at the counter and the employees were in back or their secondary test area counter. In the defense of the employees, they could have been working diligently and are simply understaffed and overwhelmed. Sadly, I missed out on some old school gaming. I will be going to Retro-Taku instead.Note: Selection was an 7 out of 10.
Honestly it seems like the staff feels inconvenienced and generally unfriendly when I ask a question or would like help. You can test a system and answer a question at the same time. Ive been in gaming retail, it can be done. Never once been greeted upon entering. Cmon guys, its standard customer service skills that anyone can learn.
I love all the other Disc Replay locations but the Troy location has done me wrong 3 times now. They put prices higher than other locations. No one ever answers the phone when I call, when I tried to ask the Facebook group why I can’t ever talk to anyone on the phone and I get told they don’t open at 9:30 and they have 7 chores they have to complete before opening at 10am. When both google and the disc replay site label open hours are 9:30. I spoke with other locations at the same time I tried calling to check stock of a game title and all other locations were confused as to why Troy wouldn’t be answering their phone. I called at 9:30 rang a few times to a generic voicemail/answering machine, so I called again and someone picked up and I heard talking then CLICK, call again and get a dial tone for 30 mins. That’s when I took to Facebook to ask them what’s up and they tell me this stuff about they don’t open till 10? Why does it say everywhere else 9:30, something doesn’t add up.
This place is incredible. Games, movies, anime, and so much more. My girlfriend and I discovered this place on our way to gamestop and Im so happy we stopped in. Its a fun environment filled with everything a gamer could want. I whole heartedly recommend stopping in.
So much better than GameStop I traded in a PS4 with a controller and a game with no charging cable and I got 145 for it they only took 3 bucks off not having the cable compared to game stop where they take 20 bucks off they also have a ton of old school stuff like N64’s and Nes’s if your a content creator they have elgato’s too

2022-01-28Always a great place whether for buying games and/or trading in. Always giving you a good value based relative to current market conditions. Have always had good experiences here and everyone has been especially helpful! Would recommend if youre looking for disc or cart based games, blu-rays/dvds, or funkos!

2022-03-04Had to sell some dvds, video games, and consoles because I’m moving. They checked my stuff and said to come back in an hour. I cam back and they gave me a good price for everything. I was very satisfied with my sale today at Disc Replay and I recommend this store for anyone truing to sell their movies, cds, dvds, video games, Funko Pop, consoles, etc.

2022-04-22Went in to sell my xbox 360 without the power cord. was told in person by the employee that they would not be able to give me more than 9 dollars for the console without the cord. I then went back without the cord and the manager and supervisor said they were unable to purchase the xbox 360 console without the cord. After driving back and forth and their word, I was told in a short and rude way that I would not be able to sell the console to them. Wasted trip on misinformation. What else are they misinformed or misinforming the consumer about? Consider a pawn shop or facebook marketplace or ebay before doing business with these people again! and their merchandise is extremely overpriced. It is businesses like this that close down unfortunately.

2022-01-23Love this place! They are more than fair when it comes to trade ins. Went to gamestop that was right next door and they offered me $175 for my Xbox one. Went to disc replay after and they gave $270!!

2021-08-15Pleasant surprise. I went into store for first time. I like to have hard copies of the movies I like. They have the inventory on the computer, and its organized so they could find them. Also, did not know they had previously owned tech. Really good to know. I like to recycle, that way I can trade in old tech for movie credits or cash. Staff very knowledgeable!

2022-01-17Solid selection of used games and dvds also has a ton of different pop figures. Stopped in on a trip and the worker made sure I took advantage of the buy 3 get 3 as I was one short.

2022-04-18Great store for retro games and all kinds of Funko Pops!
