I love this store and what they have to offer, however, I wouldn’t recommend selling anything to them. I was told it’d be an hour and a half wait but I waited for roughly 3 hours before anyone got back to me. Only a couple of the things I had sold. The employees need to work on time management and prioritization.
Went there the other night with my girlfriend, her sister, and her sisters girlfriend. I went in thinking this store was similar to most used video game stores in that they negotiate price but they dont, and it wasnt made very apparent that that was the case. The staff seemed largely unaware of what their product even was. I inquired if they had a copy of Pokemon Stadium, a game that should be instantly recognizable to any fan of retro gaming as a Nintendo 64 title, and yet the staff member I asked didnt know. And then he told me they had a copy as well. So I pester another staff member and get him to open up the case with the games I want in it including their supposed copy of Pokemon Stadium, and I was rudely shut down, being told they couldnt POSSIBLY have a copy of pokemon stadium, or it would be on the top rack with the other games of that pedigree and not down with their millions of Madden games. I walked out with a copy of Banjo-Tooie which was OK. Its a game I didnt have at that point and I enjoyed Banjo-Kazooie so I walked out feeling like Id enjoy what I bought but it should be noted that I paid $44 and some change for it whereas Pricecharting.com, a site that tracks sales on eBay, Amazon, and even the notoriously stingy GameStop, had their average price calculated to around $37 and some change. Not the most egregious price difference but a substantial one nonetheless. It should also be noted that selection of games and the quality of product was lacking to say the least. To start, a lot of the games they had were annual dime a dozen EA Sports shovelware and Madden games. Almost every GameCube game they had was some EA sports title. If youre looking to fill out an EA collection, fine, but for most people, this is pitiful. Whats even worse though is that a lot of their games had printed out boxart as opposed to the original. I remember picking up a copy of Kirby Super Star Ultra in there thinking that Id stumbled upon something Id want to buy, but on further inspection it was probably the worst looking case Id ever seen. There was a large gouge in the clear plastic keeping the artwork in and the boxart itself was shoddily printed off and not even convincingly cut, leaving white margins on the edges to show that they hardly even cared to make the art appropriately sized for the box they were sticking it in. They also placed their price stickers on things that they could easily damage. There was a vintage paperback Mario Paint players guide and an in-box copy of Virtua Racing for the Sega 32X which any collector would know, comes in a cardboard box, so anyone attempting to remove those blemishes from their games are gonna have a hard time not damaging their newly purchased, overpriced, difficult to replace because they arent made anymore item. Its just baffling to think that a reseller would have such little regard for resale value. To top the whole terrible experience off, my girlfriend told me almost as soon as we walked in that the store had an odor to it that she described as like her aunt. Absolutely atrocious the experience I had and I dont care to step into another disc traders again.
Staff is always so polite and helpful. Never a bad experience there. On the rare occasions I’ve gotta a video game there that didn’t work, they made it right and either replaced it or gave me a refund. One of my favorite and most trusted places to shop. Go here instead of GameStop! This place is much more professional and caring.
Ive gone in there twice in 2 years and both times the experience was less than desirable. They have known their phone system has been broken for months now and wont accept incoming calls. They make no effort to fix it. Be prepared to drive all the way there to get an answer to a question that could be answered if they had a business line that worked. Ill never go in there again. The place has proven out to be 100% worthless to me.
I went there today. Asked for a game that was in the system, but, as it turned out, they were missing the copies. A wonderful guy named Ryan helped me out. Compensated for the trouble, and was all around a pleasure to meet. Get there before Christmas. Things are flying off the shelf!
I brought in a SSD I no longer needed, after a couple minutes the guy at the counter asked me if I had a receipt or proof of purchase claiming that its a new policy for unopened items, I pointed out the fact that it definitely wasnt wasnt unopened, after realizing this instead of apologizing I was questioned about how long Ive had the SSD and ignoring the fact that it wasnt unopened. He claimed he wasnt accusing me of stealing it which he obviously was. In short if you plan on selling anything here dont bring the box it came in or youll be called a thief. Definitely wont be coming back to buy or sell anything here.
The staff is very kind and endure a lot from selling and buying. They trade disc by assigning a value and then giving you store credit or the ever popular cash and also they sell the disc, if you are looking for a disc they may or may not have it, it is your job to scour the shelf but if it is Blu ray maybe they can look it up? There is metal boxes that store the discs behind the counter to protect them from the theives. No online shop here folks. They have staff that be very friendly. There is a once upon the child, dolar tree, planet fit, the buffet, bed bath beyon are all with in the plaza as well as sub man Michael, phone store and clothing mans. Milk is not available but there are Capri sun currently as well as coca cola products are in the store, if you want eggs they have them next door.
The team in this store are very very nice and don’t judge any stupid questions you may have about any products they sell. I know because I asked! Haha, a huge selection of things are sold here from games to DVD’s to Bluetooth speakers and laptops. If you don’t want to pay full price on a classic game or aged DVD then this is the place for you!
Pretty cool place for buying video games, systems, dvds, bluerays, CD, tablets, accessories etc. Prices arent to bad. Definitely a lot cheaper then those other video game stores. They also buy this stuff to but youll get quite a bit more on trade though. Buy prices arent the best as you can more than likely do better listing your stuff online.Their West Saginaw location in West Lansing is cool as its in a small strip plaza flanked by a gym and buffet. They often only use one cashier which I dont get and it takes forever it feels like to cash out when your done but other then that overall a solid place. And they do have a pretty huge inventory as well. So lots of choices of items which is always cool.
Great place for rare hard to find games and accessories! System buying needs improvement for sure. Wouldnt buy my 3DS XL because of a VERY FINE scratch on its upper screen, but will sell me a N64 missing its plastic feet and serial number (system was clearly opened for repair)!? Normally this wouldnt be a issue but the hypocrisy is a bit much🤔
By far the cheapest place I know for electronics, games and/or dvds. Staff are willing to give there opinions about pros and cons to the items. You can sell your unwanted items here as well. Unfortunatley last several times ive been in staff are more then willing to piblically complain about other staff and company in front of customers which is a big turn off.
Bought a gameboy sp and a sega genesis, I get home the gameboy doesnt work so I drive and return it, get back home the genesis also doesnt work. 3 hours round trip driving and I still dont have a functioning console, save your money go buy your games from a place that tests them, the gas I spent would have bought the genesis....
Waited at checkout for about 3 mins while I checked in guy kept rolling his eyes at me only thing I noticed about myself verses others was I was wearing a mask waited another two mins and he asked lady behind me if he could help her and she said yeah also ignored me while both knew I was first in line other staffers just ignored me as well so I left was gonna buy that 800 buck iPad but I’ll go to Grand Rapids where I won’t get shunned if I wear a mash FYI I never said a word in the store and I don’t go there maybe once a month to see what’s there.. at least at GameStop I can be treated with a hello
I love this place. I get such crazy nostalgia every time I come here. Any time I come I walk in for one thing, maybe a certain childhood favorite game, maybe a disc cleaning, but I always walkout with an armful of stuff. Maybe a classic console while Im at it. Still play my PS2 slim all the time, but I grew up on PS1 and PS2. Cant beat some classic GTA, Crash Bandicoot or Tony Hawk. Plus little gems like that dont break the bank like modern gaming. Great selection, wide variety of games, movies, old animes, etc. Bought the whole dragon ball z collection from there. Plus the staff is always pretty chill. And its nice being by planet fitness and the hibachi grill, my gym and favorite restraunt. So Im there a lot. Hit the gym hard, protein pack at hibachi, and peruse their selection for a self-reward for working out occasionally. Great place!
I called on the phone they said they had 2 copies of the game I was looking for.. Went into store couldnt find it. Asked for help associate was aloof and said sometimes people pick up the game and set it elsewhere And continued to let me search for it aimlessly. Not helping at all... Worst customer service I have ever had at a video game store.. They obviously dont care.. Why should I care and give them my business?? I will now order the game online.. Unless your Desperate stay away from Joke Traders..
You can find just about anything to do with gaming. They have tons of games for PS3, PS4, PSP, XBOX 360,XBOX ONE, NINTENDO SWITCH, GameCube, Game Boy,64, Sega thats just what I got there Im pretty sure they have games for any system. They also sell just about every system an anything you might need for them. Oh yeah they buy/sell/trade
Not many gamecube games which is not the stores fault but Im salty sorry its a long drive there to be let down a bit.But as always I did walk out buying something cool! The guys were nice, tried to be respectful of my pronouns, which is 10/10 lgbtq+ friendly love it that!
The staff is always super nice. Never had a bad experience here. I tell all my friends that this is the place to go for the best deals on video games and used DVDs. Much better prices than GameStop. Only thing is, I wish they would wrap the game cases so that the price sticker could just come right off easily. Also, some people do not know how to form a line, nor how to keep an appropriate distance from a person who is checking out. I get very uncomfortable when someone near me when I am paying for my stuff there.
Huge selection of movies and games. This place is like if Gamestop resold the used games you turned in for a price that didnt make you feel completed swindled. Also, the service is amazing. Staff is very knowledgeable if you have a specific request, and if they dont have what youre looking for they will point you in the right direction.
As with most stores like this, its filled with a lot of stuff nobody wants, and some stuff that is more desirable. Theres some discrepancy in prices when they have multiple copies, so dont be too afraid to keep looking. Retro game selection is pretty good, and the previous generation of games is massive, with current gen games being well represented too.
Great place to browse for used DVD/ Blu Ray movies and games. Very reasonable prices. Great selection, with inventory changing daily. Nice opportunity here to find oddball, obscure and hard to find titles. Nice TV series section.Organized generally alphabetically by title, you can get a little fazed looking through hundreds of DVD spines to locate something. Good place to window shop.If you dont like the price, dont buy it here.
The staff at this establishment are some of the nicest employees in the game selling industry. Not to mention the prices for the consoles and games here are amazingly low. They have a great selection of films, and merchandise. Even if your on a budget, the discount bins have some great underrated games.Final Thoughts: This is THE Disc Traders to go to! The only minor issue is that if the screen is scratched too much they wont buy it, though neither would their customers. I will be back, and ready to get the hottest games, at a fraction of the price. -Rory Holt 4-23-19
Staff seemed to busy to help me even though I was standing in front by myself at registers. I asked for a game but they werent much help, actually, they ridiculed me for not knowing the game I was searching for. The staff gave me a name for a game they thought I must have meant. I walked out and went to GameStop who couldnt find it either. (He tried for a long time though, bless his heart) I later found the right one after a Google search immediately ;)
Fair prices, alright selection of games, good people/service, cool graphic stuff from posters to badges. Good trade-in value for consoles and games. Told it to me straight if my traded-in stuff was junk or worth anything. Wish they had more current generation console games in stock when I was purchasing my console though.
This has become my favorite store to shop for all things media. Employees are generally helpful and plesant to deal with, although a couple employees seem unfriendly. Regardless customer service is fantastic which is what counts. They almost always have what Im looking for. I can only think of two occasions when they didnt. Trade in values are very fair
Great place to trade in your games, movies, and electronics for cash or in-store credit. They have a large variety of games, computers, game perphials, electronics, movies and more. The trade-in value is good and games cost way less than GameStop. Their stock changes daily.
I like the selection this place offers, there is literally something for everyone. However, some of the games are a bit over priced, especially with the quantity they have of things like Pokemon and Mario. Or, for example, if the case is super damaged, maybe taking a few bucks off makes some sense- especially when you have bargain hunters coming in, and I was shopping for a birthday present. Im all about saving a few bucks, but if the gift is going to look tacky due to a case, I may consider buying something else entirely. I get that some games are worth more, but when they are used, and I can order them cheaper online, there is no point in driving into Lansing (except for the fact I like the idea of smaller businesses and dont care for Amazons take over). To me, when there are at least 10 of the SAME game at the same price, it may be time to drop the price a little bit.... I would be happy to spend $22 on a used game if I knew it was a deal, but if $30 gets me the same game new, Id rather spent $30. When I come in, Im ready to drop at least $200, this is due to the time it takes me to get out there and of course the excitement of new stuff and surprises for myself and or family/ friends. This last visit, I did spend less, not for lack of options, but because I felt like deals werent as good as theyve been before. I hope it was just a weird day. Staff was way friendlier this time!
I would give it a 10/10, the staff is usually helpful & friendly, they finally put in air freshener so they could get rid of the stench of all the people who came in smelling like weed. And (they cant control this but,) 95% of the time I went there I found the game, console, or movie I was looking for. Great store if youre looking for old items for a cheap price.
Great place for games, movies, and electronics. They have a great selection and even take your old consoles, blurays, DVDs, and consoles for credit or cash! They have DVDs Buy 3 Get 3 Free!!! Trevor and his staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Awesome experience!
Great place to shop , wide variety , great selection.Best prices you can find on virtually anything.Great customer service. You will pretty much never get anything bad from them .The first time ever after years of shopping I happened to have a defective product. They were super helpful and considerate!I was in and out in 10 minutes with working replacements. This place rocks !
This place is fun to go to. If I ever want to rent a movie on tv I go here instead because I can just buy it for less. They have great deals on used consoles and other electronics. The only thing I would want to be different is that sometimes (on busy days) I have waited in line for over 30 minutes. It isn’t that long of a wait all the time, mainly just nights and weekends.
I’m usually very impressed, staff is always friendly, quality items and great selection. However, the God of War 3 I bought today doesn’t work, on the first attempt, the game didn’t even get to the beginning screen, after cleaning several times I can’t get past the selection menu. I thought all these games were tested before being put on the shelf? Really disappointed as it was the only copy too. Quality has definitely dipped since the store grew in size.UPDATEChanged my review from two to one star, the ps3 controller I bought yesterday ($40!) doesn’t work entirely, some of the buttons don’t do anything on the first press. They don’t even test their stuff before they sell it.UPDATE 2They are selling used games for the price of new!! I’ve matched their prices on amazon, and the Amazon price is THE SAME as disc traders. These people are cheats and I will NEVER shop here again.
The selection is amazing. They have everything from retro games to used iPhones and tablets - I will go back. But it is too large a place for the number of people working, at least when I went. I was trying to sell back about a dozen games after I bought something, the guy said it would be 15 minutes to check them out. 45 minutes later I just asked for my games back, they hadnt even started looking at them. They should have given me the price list first so I could decide which of them would actually be worth trading back. A clever manager could make this change and make their workflow better.I will give them another shot one day, but I am still mad about the 45 minute wait.Buying yes - selling back, just use eBay.
The last 5 times I have gone here the PS4 games that i have bought they have not worked so that makes me have to waste my hard earn money to drive all the way back to the store to exchange it for another one. I am definitely never going back there and none of my family or friends will either. Id advise other people not to go there either
Friendly atmosphere, however the prices seem to be the same as Gamestop so nothing too special if youre looking for better bargains on games.Aside from that, Disc Traders has a wider selection of games, systems, and electronics than that of Gamestop. The movie selection is also INCREDIBLE and theyre priced fairly. Would definitely go here again.
Disc. Traders is an amazing place to purchase the movies you’re looking for;The inventory is ever changing and seems to be endless, you’ll find everything from the 70’s, 80’s, throughout the 90’s to the present day releases whether on DvDs, or Blu-rays.Disc. Traders has something for everyone no matter what your favorite genre, “horror, comedy, action, sci-fi” they have it all.No matter what you’re looking for movies, collections, t.v., series, video games, consoles, t.v.’s, surround sound systems, phones, tablets, lap tops, posters, collectibles, they got it.The staff are always friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic; they share a love for movies, and video games with customers which adds to Disc.Traders over all vibe.Often times the store is packed with people buying, selling, just stopping in; and the staff are busy to say the least, but they work hard, work fast, and do their best to greet and serve each customer. Please be patient with the staff, and keep in mind that you’re walking into a store with one thing in mind whether you’re buying or selling, and each of the staff members here are attempting to sort, price, stock merchandise, as well as search through merchandise, and answer questions, take and make phone calls, as well as test equipment, fix equipment as well as mingle with the customers. The Disc. Traders staff have always treated me and my family with patience, kindness and are extremely friendly.Thank you Courtney and the amazing staff working at Disc. Traders.,
Disc traders is a great place to buy used games, movies, and equipment for much cheaper than new. Ive been able to get some items for free just because of the condition they were in. I believe that they do check any dvds that you buy just to make sure they are playable. I have had good luck with the last couple times I visited.
Id like to say the game consoles they sell I wouldnt buy them I got a ps4 from there I played it for like 2 months and it glitched out and quit on me I payed $250 for it and it just quit but games from there are worth it Ive gotten a couple games from there never had issues with games just the console from there also they are nice people
This place is GREAT!! Anything you need for gaming is here...they have all the games for all the platforms!! Tons and tons of them! They also have a ton of dvds. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable if you have questions. They even got some old school stuff there!
As of today I will no longer be giving Disc Traders Lansing or any other locations owned by the same people my business. This is due to a policy that was brought to my attention by a fellow collector in which Disc Traders will no longer honor coupons if they deem you to be a known reseller. I can see no logical reason for such a policy. It provides no benefit to the business or the community of people that purchased games at a store such as this. What does Disc Traders Lansing gain by preventing someone from using the coupon they earned? A few extra dollars on their bottom line at the cost of losing the respect and business of the very people who shop there? If someone reselling items they bought in your store eats into your bottom line that badly why on Earth would you have such a coupon system to begin with? How much money do you possibly save (or in this case likely waste) by policing what people do after they purchased something from your store? And as a collector myself and a member of several groups dedicated to the Hobby; we are all resellers your store is just a glorified reseller! If anything someone buying your items and selling them again online benefits people that dont have easy access to such things in a location such as yours. What exactly is your goal in preventing people from getting good deals at your store? You still get paid either way and its not as though a 20% discount makes for much profit after you factor in the sales tax thats calculated after the discount in addition to the cost associated with selling such items be it through shipping, PayPal fees, or eBay fees if you choose to sell there. the market self regulates and your prices are based on online sales anyway so Im not sure how there could be any real reason for you to do this other than being weirdly Petty about what people do in their spare time. The real kicker? the person that brought this to my attention isnt even really a reseller! The only things I have ever seen him sell after purchasing are consoles that he is modded with graphical upgrades or other functionality which you dont offer anyway. Outside of that Ive only ever seen him sell games he has owned personally for yearsIll be sharing this review across all of the collector groups I am in in addition to posting it to any of the disc Trader locations owned and operated by the same individual franchisees.
Store is clean, employees are friendly and helpful, and prices are reasonable. My only complaint is that the cases are not organized and it is difficult to find a specific movie. They are supposed to be in alphabetical order but it looks like someone just puts cases where they fit.
Decent price back on items. Sometimes certain employees will deny your items only cause i feel they dont want to deal with it. Wish they had newer games. And some items were a little lower priced. Just because an item is expensive online, does not mean people are buying it.
Generally very good prices, very good selection of games ranging from Sega Genesis all the way to Xbox One and PS4. They sell higher end cellphones and laptops and other various electronics. The lines can be very long, but is usually due to the fact that the store is testing used games that theyre buying from customers.
I found some dope chibis and games here for a great price and the staff were really cool. I brought in a ps3 with 2 controllers and 10 games and traded them and got like 300 bucks in store credit. I picked up a ps4 pro for like 30 bucks! And spent like 100 in store. They have so much stuff. I wanna buy it all lol
Good store full of excitement and treasures. They have a good selection of old video games and new video games for a marked down price. They have blu-rays and dvds, wide selection. Constant sales will bring you here to buy movies to watch and games to play for years to come. Store offers military diacount. Store was clean and had good lighting. Jelaous I dont have ine of these stores closer to me.
Its okay. They dont pay as well as another shop in town, and they have a limited Wii U section. I think thats just due to popularity, but couldnt they supplement by bringing in some games? They did try to sell me a Wii U game disk for 25% more than the digital copy was on the Nintendo store. Its worth looking at, but dont assume youll find what you want.
So much better than dealing with a national chain like Gamestop. The prices tend to be better than Gamestop as well. You can also find a fun association of older games/systems that you wont find anywhere else.I will say that I did have to wait a long time to have my games trade-in the last time that I was there. So I might avoid the busy times if you are looking to trade in.
Perfect place for the movie buff to check out especially for older movies they sell used gaming equipment as well at a fraction of the cost for new. everything they sell has been tested to be sure that it is working and they do have a conditional return or exchange policy on defective items
Love this store for so many reasons. It brings back so many memories of my childhood with all the video games, systems and characters they sell. Art for your walls are sold here as well. You can get Laptops, smart watches, tablets, cameras, GoPros and many other electonics. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is I wish the movies were organized better rather than everything mixed together. Example: I was going through kids movies and I found 8 exact Despicable Me 2 movies scattered all over the place. I know this would take many hours to keep up with it but this would help the customer and store employees in so many ways.Another issue is when the disc says Blu Ray and DVD I wanted both and four of the movies I wanted only had the Blu Ray disc. I understand this is most likely due to the original owner only including the Blu Ray when selling it to the store.
Whenever I need a new Xbox One game and I do not want to pay GameStop prices, I always come here. They have decent prices and whenever I have an issue with any items they fix it or replace it. My boyfriend loves this store too. He always wants to visit to see what new games they have. I love it
They have no return policy which is disappointing on modern games, but are comparable to GameStop in price and selection. Otherwise, for older systems and collectibles, fantastic shop! Good cheap movie Silverton there. I just wouldnt buy any modern videogames there without being able to return a game I just ended up hating and no rewards system like their competitors.
Be careful when considering selling games to them and Be Sure check the value of your games before you bring them in , especially if you know the game you have is rare. They will try to give you less than it is worth. Contacted them regarding a rare cartridge game worth roughly $1000.00 - $1300.00 and they tried to pay $50.00 - $100.00 for the game. It was a joke.
Best place for used games and even trading in your games. They even have TVs and DVDs. If its over a year or two old you can definitely find it here. I trade my old Playstation games occasionally and actually get decent reimbursement. Way better than Game Stop for used games. Only ever had one game give me a problem, they swapped it and gave me a 10% discount on my next purchase. Wonderful staff with great service. And after reading a couple bad reviews those must be the gamers without people skills that grunt when you say hi.
The best place to get used movies and video games. They dont carry brand new games or movies, just a heads-up. I highly recommend it. Ive compared prices here to Gamestop and Amazon and youll almost always get the best deal on a used video game here. Wide selection, good employees. Everything Ive purchased here worked flawlessly. DVDs and Games. They have the largest selection of old games I think Ive seen most places. NES, Sega Genesis, you name it. GO HERE! (Ive never sold anything to them so I have no info on that)
Highly Recommended, This store has the best deals on ANY game, old or new. My only Con I have (which is something that wouldnt lose them a star) is that most of the time Cartridges I buy tend to be dusty in the inside (which means you have to go an get the old Isopropyl out and scrub it out with a q-tip). Other then that, perfect store!
Ive been a loyal customer since they opened. The staff is always friendly and are really helpful every time I call to see if they have a certain movie. I only had one problem with one of the tv series dvd but they cleaned it and was good as new. I recommend going there if you like saving money on dvds.
Disc traders is usually a go to place for me especially for blu ray’s and used games. My most recent trip however was very disappointing and unsatisfying. I traded in a bunch of items to them and was told by an associate I could browse the store while I waited for them to price my belongings. I waited almost TWO HOURS for them to finish, it should not have taken them that long at all. The whole time I was there I watched as employees fooled around and made jokes about customers and other various things. I also saw and heard them taking phone calls with possible costumers on speaker; out loud so the whole store could hear them. That is completely inappropriate in a business based almost entirely on interactions with costumers. The Ridiculous amount of time they wasted pissing around could have easily been shortened if they had lowered the socialization and fraternization with their fellow employees.Pardon the name of this account. I wish to keep my name private.
Im very disappointed. They say pay to dollar, but I brought in a Wii U with 2 controllers, 7 games, and infinity characters. They only wanted to pay me $80. This is after waiting almost 4 hours for them to look at my stuff. I live almost an hour away! On another note, staff was very friendly.
They do have great games and movies but the employees have horrible customer service. We called in to have an older game held and came in the next day and they never held it for us. They were also very rude on the phone about it. they told us to go search for the case to the game when the case was behind the counter the entire 25 minutes we were looking for it on the floor. They made us wait back in line for another 20 minutes. Witu 4 employees working and a huge line of about 10 people one employee waiting on customers. Every time we come here the employees are always so rude. I would prefer not to come here. This is the last resort if we are looking for s game or video.
Usually I like this place, and my husband and I have done a lot of business with them. Whats frustrating though is being told it would be an hour wait and then coming back after an hour to find that they havent touched our stack. Which hey, if its busy, i get it. However we then spent another 45 minutes waiting while watching the employees socialize. Seemed like having conversations with each other was a great deal more important than getting their customers taken care of. The girl working on our stack went agonizingly slow as she joked with the guys around her, something about paying to punch one of them in the stomach. Inappropriate, inconvenient, and highly frustrating.
Not many places for classic video games around, this is one of the few. It is hit-or-miss as sometimes they dont have much for stock, just multiple copies of the same tired titles. Once in a while you can get lucky though. They also have a huge selection of movies, for those few people that still buy physical movies I guess.
They have what you need and they dont charge an arm and a leg for it.I gave four stars though because a salesman didnt know he handed me the wrong object. I got an xbox 1 controller for my gaming pc and he handed me one thats not Bluetooth capable.I shouldve looked also but still, so I give myself 3 stars fort not checking.I still love disc traders.
Used movies and games and otjer entertainment stuff. No complaints about the store or collection. Fantastic experiment in delayed gratification and frugality - pay full price for a new game v. waiting for a gently used copy. Parents could make tjos a massive life lesson for kids who dont see issue with dropping 60 bucks for a brand spanking new copy of Witcher 3.
A decent used game and movie store, selection can be hit an miss if you looking for a used copy of a major game from this generation they probably have it. If you looking for something a little more obscure or some of the more collectible retro games then not so much. PlayStation 1-4 Xbox 360-one have a decent selection Wii is mostly shovel Ware titles most people dont want. Anything Sega outside of Genesis is almost non existent like 1-8 titles at best, forget TurboGrafx 16 or Atari lynx. Rare gems pop up here sometimes but dont hold your breath expecting to come in and find one. The DVD &Blu-ray selection however is quite good.
CSR’s were abundantly disregarding with a strong lack of information when asked if the company would be getting any consoles in along with other information I wanted as well when I noticed he didn’t want to engage I moved forward prompting my departure, I will take my business elsewhere!
I like that there is a good variety of used games across all platforms, but it is often cluttered and doesnt have a great system of organization making it hard to find anything quickly. Also, you wait in line for a long time to check out. Be prepared to soothe frustrated children while you wait in line.
Great prices and havent really had any issues until today. Bought a Wii U and right when I got home, the charger was the wrong format. Then, when I got back and booted up the system, a whole bunch of the previous users content was still on the device, including the parental controls. I had to jump through a bunch of hoops, including paying a fee to Nintendo to get a master key to reset the device. If I could give any one tip it would be to BE MORE THOROUGH. AND PLEASE RESET ALL YOUR DEVICES TO FACTORY DEFAULTS BEFORE SELLING THEM.
Not a great place to visit. Overpriced legacy titles, hit or miss film selection. Staff is outright incompetent. Every purchase I have made has had a mistake of some sort associated with it; often associates would place the wrong game in the case when I was making a purchase. Trade-in value is a pittance. Management is coy.
Great selection, most games are cheaper than GameStop, when I had difficulty with a Xbox I purchased they helped me out greatly and offered a replacement exactly like what I had. The staff is friendly. I believe all my second hand game purchases I make will be from this store.
I usually get decent service here but lately Ive been getting terrible service. The people that work here are distracted because this is the 3rd or 4th time Ive gotten home and they have the put the wrong discs in the cases. They dont really pay attention to you when they are checking you out, theyll be talking and giggling with the other coworkers, theyll let you stand there for sometime before they ask if you needed to be checked out. Like I said I usually get decent service here but lately its been terrible. Check your cases before you leave, they obviously dont double check here.
I took some games in too get scratches buffed a young man accidentally did both sides of the video games, but over all the manager took my concern and replaced my video games that where accidentally messed up but over all I would say 10 out of 10. very nice and friendly staff I would recommend them the manager went beyond and over her name is Courtney , I hope she gets credit for what she did.
Total crapshoot when it comes to selection, but I often see games on sale that I never see in the wild anymore--for prices that are about 20% below eBay usually. Ive seen games like Little Samson, Shining Force II, and Castlevania Dracula XX SNES there. Unfortunately, eBay flippers know this place well, so if you see something good, you better buy it then or itll be gone the next time you come back. Ive been there when another local store owner has come in and bought 20 items at a pop. Their trade-in values are only OK. What I appreciate is that they test everything and dont take scratched discs. Between that and the return policy, I feel confident with any purchase. Highly recommended for NES, Genesis, SNES, Gameboy/GBA, PS2, Xbox, 360, PS3, PS4, XBONE, Wii, WiiU, DS/3DS. Not so much for Sega CD, PS1, Saturn, Dreamcast, Jaguar, or Lynx.
Great place got a ps1 there works great, I mean theres always the option that you could go to GameStop and get $0.70 for like a tower of games or you can go to Disc Traders and make the right choice my PS1 is perfect I plan on going there every time I need a game and its pretty much the best place to buy and sell video games they will give you a good amount of money for games and consoles
They have a million dvd movies. Most for $3.33. I kind of gave up on dvds a while back but now i find occassionally that im in the mood for a particular movie from the 70s or 80s and its nowhere to be found on netflix or hulu. So instead of paying $5-6 to rent, i head to disc traders.
I tried to work here but was turned off that they drug test you when youre only making minimum wage... I just think thats bad policy. A real invasion of your privacy. Now my dad was in the military and I can understand the reasoning that they tested him 4 times a year. But come on you sell freakin dvds and games for college kids, what a freaking joke.

2022-07-14Wonderful selection of almost everything! But... every time Ive been there over the last couple years, Im constantly dealing with what seems like somebody who hates their job. I would love to talk to somebody and share the love of consoles but it seems like Im being rushed out, or I should know what EXACTLY I want. Just needed some xbox controllers, which were there, but the staff was incredibly stand off. Great place, will always recommend, but work on the customer service!

2022-08-18This place has to be doing some sort of promotion for rating favorably. That is the only way it is above 4 stars. The store is cluttered, unorganized, extraordinarily overpriced games, horrible offers on anything you want to sell and the staff are all rude and quite honestly just not very capable at their jobs.

2022-05-25Had a good experience until I was checking out. I was asking questions about my controllers and why they would not accept. Two did not have serial numbers which is reasonable enough. When I apologized and stated that I didn’t mean any drama, the employee in the back said “then don’t.” I will not be coming back and all potential business is going to eBay.

2022-07-25The employees are arrogant and rude. I called ahead to get a game and when I got there was told to go find the case. Nothing in alphabetical order. Then they told me that I must not want the game bad enough and they had work to do. 3 employees working and 1 off the clock. 3 customers ahead of me and 2 of those were together.

2022-04-14Selling used Xbox 1’s for $250 when the brand new series s is $299.. a joke to say the least. Plus if you try to sell them anything be prepared to be lowballed like crazy. Was offered $20 for a 400+ laptop, brand new. How this place has over a 4 star is crazy to me.
