Comment: I was needing a car rental and called this place and was helped by Jacob. Over the phone he went over car prices only. Upon arrival 30 min. Later he went over the car prices but added insurance. I advised him no need for insurance and he simply refused to rent me the car. He said it’s a package and the insurance is included. I told him he didn’t mention it when we spoke on the phone which was a great disappointment. Insurance is always optional but not here.

Comment: My fiance recently rented from here on 3 separate trips to visit me and the LA area. I was happy to see that each time, he got a nice clean car that gave us no problems. And all the cars were very comfortable and got pretty good gas mileage. He told me that he is very impressed with the owner Jacob, and that he will only rent from this place since they have a good working relationship going a few years back. He is happy with the cars and everything else, and that makes me happy.

When I asked him to reimburse me for the Ubers I had to take since the car died, he started getting aggressive and yelling at me. Thank god my boyfriend walked in to pick me up right then and could defend me. The guy told my boyfriend I get why youre siding with her, she belongs to you. This guy is incredibly sexist, on top of being a dishonest business man.Edit: similar to other reviews, I’ve gotten 5 calls from this place since posting this review. Harassing me via phone won’t make me change this review.

Comment: I have become a regular customer here and enjoy the fact of saving a lot of money on car rentals in $$$LA, knowing that I will not be getting a dream car that is in perfect condition. So this car rental business works perfectly for me. I have especially enjoyed getting to know the owner, and am always delighted whenever he tries to make my rental experience of these cars the best that it can possibly be. In fact, I can honestly say that the owner has earned my business and my trust. Even when I have rented from the big name places in the past, no one ever went around the vehicle with me to review pre-existing damage, but this owner does. The location is off-airport but easy to reach by public transit. Go to the website to make a reservation in advance, then go in person and see if there is a special. Sometimes, there is a special deal being offered. Even without the specials, this is already a huge deal for my budget. Ill be back!! [Update 10/1/2023] Im happy to report another great car rental experience. This time, I got a stunning car (recent Honda Civic) for my brief trip, and it drove like a dream. I had very positive interactions with the owner, and as I said before, he is always on the lookout to give me the best rental experience possible. Im looking forward to the next time I will rent a car here.

The manager was helpful and took care of me he made sure I would b happy with what he provided after I told him what I needed and wanted un like HURTZ who I was dealing with I was so frustrated, and not mentioned the rude customer service, and they over charge account every 3 to 4 days basically I had enough ….DO NOT DO BUSINESS THROUGH HURTZ!!! I had it enough of the rude treatment and the overcharging to my account I decided searching else where for a much more reasonable price for rental cars, i found discount car rental in Burbank made a phone call and from that moment on I was treated with respect, and the manager took care of me.. so I returned the car to hurtz and drove straight to the discount car rental in Burbank after speaking with manager Jacob several times he promised to provide me with the best price possible and that he would take care of me, and not worry. Finally, I didn’t have to fight for someone’s attention or make reservation that would take hours and hours out of my day just to renew a rental or get a new one..I received excellent customer service he went above and beyond to take care of me and my needs .. I recommend this rental service to anyone looking to rent a vehicle for a great price and u will be taken care of as they focus on putting their customers first! What better can u ask for a place with great prices and excellent service ..please do not go to HURTZ they are horrible, rude, over charge ur account and the customer service is awful. Comment: Horrible and old cars, and booked through Travelocity. Over-priced old cars that have scratches and dents. THE site is not at the airport, and they charge a $50 airport fee. Sensors were lighted on the dash th e entire 35 days I rented the car. They would not give me my money back when I wsaw the car, so Iwas stuck wththe car and Travelocity was useless. The car rental place appeared as a neighborhood garage and the car could not be driven 100miles radius from the rental site. More thana $1000.00 was paid, plus $300 deposit (which I am still waiting to get). Had to take an uber ($53) to the airport after dropping car off at car rental site. Probably not even a legal car rental business??????

I did as much research as possible to find a reliable and fairly priced rental car with a more personable customer service experience.I ended up getting extremely lucky with Discount Car Rental, and have now been renting for 4+ years as it has even been the cheaper option throughout the pandemic and any financial hardships.I have built a great relationship with everyone there, and they have been incredible when it comes to maintenance on the vehicle. I made a reservation for a car online, and when I called to confirm, the man on the line insisted that the rate online was wrong and it was actually some other rate. The rate still seemed reasonable, and the website had been fairly professional, so I still went through with the reservation. When I showed up for the pick up, I was shocked by the state of the office in comparison to their website. I had gotten the impression that the process would be more like renting a car from a larger dealership, but this was far more casual. I was given a single key to the one car they seemed to have on the lot. It was well over 20 years old and the odometer was broken at 299,999. The car had hand crank windows but decent AC. However when I turned the car on the check engine light was on, as was the light indicating that the driver side airbag was not functional. I confirmed these lights with the office, and was told it was just the lights, nothing was actually wrong. The car drove well, but left a large puddle of oil behind when parked. All together, I was very frustrated with the interactions I had with this company and I felt very tricked and misled by their website.EDIT: This business must have only recently seen my review, because I am now receiving calls from them. They have called me 4 times today. They sent me a text just saying to call them. When they called a third time, I answered because I was very confused why they would be calling me now. I asked if he was trying to harass me to change or remove my review, which he denied, but he called again even after I hung up. This is aggressive and the wrong way to handle business reviews you dont like. This gives you no grounds to harass me for accurately describing my experience with you.

Comment: This place is a total rip-off, he started by tricking me out of the deposit and rental fee before showing me the vehicle. Once he had my money, he gives me a car that was unbelievable. I was forced to take it because I wouldn’t be able to go somewhere else, due to hold on my funds. After driving for two days, with bald front tires and a wobbly suspension which almost resulted in an accident blocks from getting to his location, I arrived at which point he drove the car saying nothing wrong with the car. He kept the keys and charged me for three days, almost what I was charged for 7. Also left me to walk blocks in 100 plus heat, carrying groceries. To top it off, I rented the vehicle because of multiple Doctors appointments, so I was forced to locate someone who would loan me something to get me to upcoming appointments. I am so disappointed with my experience, but wish there was a way to stop this crook from taking advantage of innocent people.

I called both of their numbers multiple times to confirm and ask about pickup process (no answer, voicemailboxes full). Arrive by Uber after dropping off my car and with astonishing attitude the attendant, seemingly the owner, said “we don’t rent for one day, and we have no cars for rent.” This despite my printed out confirmation. He told me if I could start any of the cars in the lot (they were all broken), I could drive it off without a contract. What a joke.

Comment: I used my EDD debit card to pay for the rental car, Im on state disablity due to a car accident; because it was a debit card, it took three weeks for the 350$ security deposit to clear. If you rent a car use a regular credit card not a debt card. Keep in mind the car is a used inexpensive car the car I had a red light on the dash which read airbag, ants who keep me company because there is no working radio the battery was dead The company did come out and put a new battery in the car in less than an hour

Comment: So lets begin. First their rental agreement phone number is different from the phone number posted on google which is different from the number posted on their site. All of these numbers seem to feed into the same mailbox which is of course full and not accepting messages. If you opt for the sms notification for them to call you you will be summarily blocked.The reason why I know this is because this is the tactic they use to avoid dealing with any sort of insurance claims that there insured drivers that they rent out to may have caused. In this case one of their lovely Kias had rear ended me while I was stopped fully. Fortunately dash cams exist and there is no way that a company like this can weasel out of responsibility.If you are looking for a company to dodge insurance claims for you, this is the way to go, but just know that paper you signed might not be worth the ink it cost to print.

Comment: I usually like to recommend and support small businesses, but I cannot recommend this one. The service leaves a lot to be desired, but more importantly, I felt that I was dealing with a trickster and had to be extra vigilant. For example, when I booked the car (through Expedia), the reservation was for unlimited mileage. But, when I picked the car, he insisted on 120 miles per day and within 100 miles radius from the rental office. These restrictions were not problematic for me, but they were contrary to the reservation.

Comment: I highly recommend this car rental place. I used one for 3 weeks. It was reliable and they worked with me weekly. They have great customer service and is willing to work with you. If you are in need of a vehicle and no one will rent to you this is the place to come to. The cars are older but they are reliable! I had a great experience.
