1 month ago I purchased a large corn beef and pastrami sandwich on an onion roll, 2 banana puddings. I like to consider myself honest because through the years when business wasnt popping, I kept on coming to support this mom and pop business that seem to struggle against the odds. But something happened with my order that made me take a different look and our business relationship. My sandwich had the regular tender corn beef in it, instead the thin sliced pastrami that you normally get with a mixed sandwich, I got a tough, chunk of pastrami that was unchewable. I had to throw the pastrami away. I think the banana puddings I also purchase that day, upset me the most. After getting home with my order, and opening up my bag, I notice that the containers had a lot of white stuff in it. I picked up the phone and called the restaurant right away and ask, what was the white stuff? I was told that it was whip cream and that everybody likes whip cream. I responded by saying I didnt order the whip cream, therefor that shouldnt have been included. After we hung up, I attempted to eat my dessert and I found that I had mostly whip cream and very little if any pudding. D. Motown Deli, You broke my heart, and Goodbye.
Absolutely the best sandwich I have had in years, staff is awesome , they are alert and dont miss a step. Im going to get one for the new pup ovcharka Caucasian shepherd. If I can resist eating the sandwich before I get home. who am I kidding, their sandwich wouldnt make the .3 miles from shop to worksite. I wont be able to resist!!!
Service was amazing. People was awesome. FOOD. OMG. ME AND MY SON DIDNT MAKE IT OUT THE PARKING LOT. I drove from the Westside all the way east for a sandwich. Just off an Instagram post. Yes the sandwiches look just like the videos. Even the cakes are amazing. However these darn Eggrolls gone have me in a coma🤦🏾♀️🤣🤣. Just all around great experience.
I ordered a corn beef sandwich(lean, no fat plz)on onion roll, cole slaw, French dressing, cheese. It was so good I ate the whole thing!!!! Now I dont have lunch for the next day!!! No pics I ate it too fast lol. It was delicious!! Ill be back🥰
The corn beef sandwich was served hot and tender. Number 1 in my book. The corn beef egg rolls were great. Im kicking myself for not trying the desserts as good as they looked in the display case. The employees were very nice and helpful. I will definitely be back. Its best to call ahead though.
They dont take care of making sure you receive all your food. You cant talk to no one about your food either. They use door dash for delivery and they are not checking to see if your order is right either. Then you have to go thru hell and high water for a refund. And you end up wasting your time without any food. Back to square one. The Motown deli is a waste of time.
We went to enjoy the sweets that weve seen on ig. The banana pudding was just banana pudding mix with nilly wafers. Chocolate cake was dry. The pound cake was decent good taste.

I ordered pastrami and swiss(only had two chesses) on onion bun with Swiss and mustard. The sandwich was delicious piles of meat but began to get soggy way to much juice. Would love to see more cheese options provolone to be precise also for that big sandwich I got you need too give to slices if pickles.
This place i s like a deli and coney mixed. I stopped in here yesterday for a quick bite. The food took a little longer than I was told to be prepared but it came out hot & fresh. I ordered the catfish meal with fries. The fish was a little more crispy than I expected but it was good & just what I needed. The pricing is fair; I paid 49 for 2 large fried catfish fillets and fries. I saw they have daily specials so next time Im in the area I might grab 2 smoked turkey eggs rolls.
So, I am a really huge fan of corned beef sandwiches/eggrolls and I must say, THESE ARE THE BEST around! The meat was sooooo tender and juicy, and the taste is on point(no funny seasonings added). The price is as expected for a great sandwich in the D. They have desserts that looked delicious, a definite buy on my next visit. If you havent already tried this place---do yourself a favor!!!
Staff was very friendly, took me and my wifes order, also gave us samples of inhouse made chicken and dumpling soup and banana pudding desert 👍good food Ill be back.
The sandwich was smaller than I expected for the price but tasty. More than anything the level of customer service is excellent. I will dine here again.
Foods excellent dont get me wrong but the women charge more for the food then the guy who works there hes always accurate 4 cornbeef egg rolls 2 drinks dont add up to 32bucks and some change egg rolls are 2 for 9.99 drinks medium 2.50 this isnt the first time I was over charged pay attention to your prices

Their fries are thick fries and they come lightly salted. Thats a plus for me. They offer several desserts like peach cobbler, cheesecake, banana pudding, and several cakes. The customer service is good. Youre greeted as you walk through the door. I ordered a turkey sandwich it was very good.
Wow! This was our first time here and we are in love. I am pretty sure this is the best corned beef sandwich I’ve ever eaten! The corned beef was so tender and flavorful and the coleslaw was to die for. The turkey sandwich was just perfect & the pickles were great! We will definitely be coming back again.

To be honest this was 3 stars I got a corn beef and turkey extra large and grilled rye The first thing that I wasn’t too happy about was my grilled rye was soggy the second thing is I thought the meat was a little bit too salty and the third thing is it was too greasy I feel like giving three stars is generous I would like to give 2 1/2 stars the quality just isn’t there for the price there’s different delis with better quality meat

I placed a order for 4 sandwiches 3 were suppose to be on onion roll and 1 on rye they all were on rye I called back to complain and they took my name and number down and said they were gonna comp me for their mistake and when I called to get my sandwiches a lady who said she was the manager wouldn’t comp me for the mistake I will not be giving them anymore service I spent money and did not get what I asked for

Service was horrible. Food was just decent. Wait times were super long. I pre-ordered on door dash. They couldnt find my order and I ended up waiting 30 minutes after my expected DD time. I probably will not be ordering from here again.

This place has been around for years it’s A classic, retro deli with a Detroit, gourmet twist, all the traditional deli sandwiches on a menu for one to choose from, fast carry out service, I mean with the quickness, the food is soo amazing and its what always has me coming back the quality of this place is unreal, my sandwich’s are picture perfect all the time, honestly if your looking for a perfect sandwich to feast on hit this place up! They got the best egg rolls, the finest sandwiches from there corned beef, roast beef, pastrami, roasted turkey breast to there ham they have desserts, sides and soups to choose from, everything great! Again I think there the best in town I haven’t been to a better spot and There food truck is everywhere! With the longest lines around!

YUM !!!! YUM!!!!! YUM !!!!! We tried to find the food truck, but ended up at their store front. We drove all the way from Redford and Im so happy we did. I got the Reuben and my BF got a huge sandwich that you couldnt put your mouth around. Sorry, we couldnt take a pic cause the smell made us to engulf it all. Well worth the drive and we will be back soon. Cant wait for the food truck to come to Redford.

Went here the other day and was horrified. The corn beef was the size of a bologna sandwich and costs $8. All they do is slick talk to you and end it with sweetheart. Over charging Russians. I eat a lot of corned beef and this is by far the best value for your money, from proportion to quality, not only in Detroit by the entire Midwest! The owners use to own Esquires which is a 100 year old deli in Detroit west side off of dexter before selling it, they get certain kind of meats that are unavailable to the public each brisket or meat is hand picked and custom made for them from some of the best versatile butchers around the state. place never stops amazing me, there meats are soo fine, ive never had better breads so authentic, soft spongy and moist, I highly recommend d Motown deli over any other deli in MichiganGet a Reuben or a humdinger or a simple corned beef on rye with mustard and Swiss

I’ve tried / sampled just about everything on the menu from the corned beef, turkey , roast beef, Pastrami and ham off the bone each one is as good as the other or if not better, the corned beef EggRolls are a great appetizer or a quick snack! 2021-12-30⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ This place is in the middle of the hood and there pushing out sandwiches better than any suburban neighborhood! There a diamond in the rough truly. Everyone knows them for having the best sandwiches it’s like gold! Love the sandwiches, the egg rolls are defiantly the best in the city. I think there the Best sandwiches around, There pastrami and corned beef are my favorite, I love there onion roll and rye… I’m always greeted best service! Nice staff, best quality . Fast, with little wait time.

2022-01-16Ive been trying to get here since 2015! I finally made it 2022 and they are all that and a bag of chips! Definitely a 2nd runner up to the old Perrys Deli Downtown Chicago. Im definitely going back.

2022-07-11Meat is always melt in your deal. The corned beef is like butta. Yup I said and spelled that right. The CB egg rolls are really good also. You actually can eat it without cheese and mustard or any added toppings. Thats because the meat is so flavorful and juicy.

2022-03-03I went there for lunch last week and ordered A d town comb with double corn beef and they put pastrami on my sandwich, when I noticed it was pastrami I spit it out and called the cashier, he he stated that whenever I came back in Id receive my sandwich. Went there two days ago now & they told me I he didnt remember nobody wrote it down and I just got played & to make it worse I was on a 30min lunch break. Totally inconvenienced. Was sick to because it was one of my favorite lunch places to go. Now I can never set foot in there again. If a place treats u this way they dont value their costumers. So long Dtown deli 😔
