They have some pretty caring, knowledgeable employees that actually know how to care for the animals they are selling also have great prices and a big selection of products to choose from for being a small business... By far my favorite pet store to get supplies from
If I could give ZERO stars I would. I just visited the Clio location on Sunday 2/6/22 around 11am. I am from Grand Rapids, and have passed this store for several years now on the way to Frankenmuth. I have 15 years of experience in caring for many different kinds of rodents. Including rabbits, hamsters, Guinea pigs, and chinchillas.I picked out some items, and on my way to the register I wanted to say hi to the animals that were for sale. Immediately my stomach turned. Several of the LIVE pets were completely out of water, had broken water bottles that were empty or impossible for the animals to drink from, filthy living conditions, little to no food in their dishes, and no enrichment (toys, wood chews, or wheels for hamsters). Not to mention, the cage size requirements recommended for the pets were all way to small.I also noticed none of these animals had any Timothy hay (or traces of hay) in their cages. Do you realize that is an instrumental and LARGE part of their diet?! If I had the funds, I would’ve purchased all the animals from this facility and cared for them myself. This was so upsetting it literally made me feel sick. If I hadn’t been so upset and thought about it, I would’ve taken pictures of what I am discussing in this post.I put my items down and immediately left the store. I am really upset. Not only did these animals appear to be miserable, I noticed the small (baby) rabbits and long haired hamsters were showing signs of physical discomfort and labored breathing.I really need to emphasize that Rabbits, chinchillas, and Guinea pigs NEED hay for survival and their optimum health (along with freshwater daily and a high quality feed like oxbow). Please do better.These aren’t just another inanimate item you sell in your store for profit, these are living beings like you and I. Please do better and train your employees and provide them knowledgeon how to properly care for the pets you are selling. I hope changes are made as soon as possible. I would love a response so I know you have seen my message.
Came in here today and 2 employees male and female complained repeatedly about annoying customers and how if customers werent so stupid their job would be much better. The female was very rude. Acted like she knew everything and everyone else was stupid. Her customer service skills are highly lacking. While checking out she was having a discussion with another customer about a gecko who was standing by the counter. The customer seemed to have a sick pet with lots of concerns. The employee showed no concern and only cared to give false information regarding the care of the animal. As a reptile owner myself the information the employee was giving was not only wrong it was rude. The information that was being given not only could have cost the customer money it could have resulted in a sicker animal. If you dont know, then say you dont know. Dont pretend you know something when you clearly dont.
We love Dottys. We always get great customer service. They have great competitive pricing and they offer good, honest advice when questions are asked. We have a menagerie of animals and they always have what we need for all of them, from our lizards to our fur babies.
We normally shop at Magoos because we used to live near there...today we went into Dottys to check it out since we just moved into the area. We are definitely going to be regulars at Dottys now! We were very impressed with the quality of dog food and products they had for pets.
Love my local Dottys pet store. Very helpful staff, always offer to carry my stuff to my car. They know their business. I visit them several times a month.
Only place I buy my pet food they have a great selection and always great deals. I do wish the staff was a bit more knowledgeable it what they have but if you know what you want this is the place to go.

Animals seem fairly well taken care of. There was a finch that was out while we were there and they did not seem to care about getting him back in but I mean its understandable because finches are almost impossible to catch

I buy all my bird seed & birding supplies here as well as some dog & cat products. Prices and quality are excellent. Staff is friendly. Theyll carry your heavy items out to the car. I like going here and am so glad we gave such a great store in Clio. Still love it in 2022!

The people who work there are awesome, helpful, friendly, and deserve a raise. Their prices on especially fish supplies are cheaper by half than other local stores. They seem to be knowledgeable about their inventory and carry a large supply of products from small to large animals of all kinds. I only gave 5 stars due to the fact I think they need to upgrade their live fish setup. It would be expensive but I think they could compete with the few fish stores located in Michigan.
Always take out my take when I get fish from here 3rd time this has happened they need a better quarantine system

Have been going to Dotty’s since I was a kid. I can’t think of a time they haven’t been around. Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Their Best Buy Bones are by far the best quality around. My dogs love them. Good selection on everything you may need and great selection of dog food.

By far the best pet store Ive been to. Great dog treats my dog has a very sensitive stomach and he loves the treats from there. Also I can take care of all my lizard needs. Dottys in Clio has the most helpful staff! Ive been coming here for a few years, and every staff member Ive encountered has gone above and beyond to help me. They are extremely knowledgeable and have never steered me wrong. Today I came into the store with my toddler and dog to exchange the harness I bought for my dog yesterday. I needes something smaller and less complicated. I was out the door in less than 5 mins with a different harness that the employee helped fit to my dog and no hassle with the exchange. I actually look forward to coming in here because everyone is so friendly and I know Ill get what I need!

So this store is awesome. I was in buying aquarium accessories. They have the best prices on their fish, and a very good selection. Guppies are my fave so thats mainly what I was looking for. But over all great store for pretty much everything!

The store is well-stocked with a huge variety of pet (all sorts of animals) foods and other supplies. I think you could find and pet supply you animals need at Dotties! The staff was extremely helpful.
Got a tank for my sons birthday. Came with rip screen lid. I called before I set the tank up, told me to bring in just the lid.. Get there and got more things for the tank and they told me Im gonna have to buy a new lid for my tank. They dont honor what they say! Never going back
I get a friendly welcome every time I visit the Dotty´s in Clio. Everyone goes out of their way to help me find what I need and they always offer to carry the heavy bags out to my car! I appreciate their excellent service.
Every time you walk in an employee asks can I help you with anything, even on busy days. They have great sales for animal food. I have a snake and they always have many options for her. Dog food there are many choices at a great price!!
Our family loves Dotty’s. The kids could spend hours there. All the employees are so nice and super helpful. They carry everything you could possibly need for all your pets. We always have a fun experience every time we go.

Expensive.not the store youd want to go to for cat food or dog food if your looking for a wide variety or a good price. My opinion,their prices are rather Better place for things like feeder mice,a variety of all natural dog treats, farm animal feed,and a variety hamster & guinea pig supplies.the store has a really foul smell and couldnt stand being in there any longer than i had to.

I asked questions about having snails in my fish tank, I was advised why Dottys doesnt sell them( they can adversely effect the tank filter) and then asked if i experienced it....I did. I also asked questions about types of fish and coexisting and got answers some I didnt get at Petsmart
Im new to the area & drove by numerous times & finally stopped in. Good selection of dog bones. Also picked up a catnip toy for the kitties. They LOVE it! I definitely will make Dottys a regular stop now.
Very knowledgeable with their animals and helpful. They even thought about my daughter and recommended we didnt buy a certain hamster due to it being aggressive. Actually cared for us and the animals to find a perfect match.

It too was a nice place, but it didnt seem really clean, I actually thought they could have done a better job. Especially for the animals, they deserve that much, and to also be healthy.
I absolutely LOVE shopping here for all my pet needs , they go out of there way to help me and to give me advice on there products . Justin is by far the best , but all the employees there are always kind , and considerate and helpful !!! I Will never shop anywhere else for my pet supplies.

My friend and I went to dotty to check things out for her birthday and when we went to the desk the workers were very unkind then proceeded to kick us out.

2022-03-29This is the only place I get my chicken feed and their prices on dog and cat food are fair too. They usually have a good selection of reptiles, birds and fish. They keep crickets, pinkies, and feeder mice in stock almost all year as well. The owners have pets of their own and care about the animals they sell and most of their live animals are handled regularly unlike some of the big box pet supply stores.

2022-06-08I go to Dottys for everything. Ive purchased all of my ferrets food, toys, supplaments, and cages there. Youre able to buy cages that have been built by the staff or request one thats still boxed. Their staff is knowledgeable on most pets and are willing to help. Ive have yet to have a negative experience.
