Drakeshire Apartments in other cities:
This is one other better apartment community in Farmington hills area. Ive been living here in a double bedroom for about three months, Starting in the Summer. Kitchens and second bedrooms could be little spacious and Patios would be nice to have. Besides this, community is neatly maintained, Trash clearance is on time. We have Gym, Indoor and Outdoor pools available. Community Gardens and Lawns is simply covered in Green and is fantastic to watch. There are enough play areas for kids in Summer. Parking area is open and will be of a concern in Michigans heavy Winters. Overall, I like this community so far.
I would highly recommend living at Drakeshire to anyone; single, couples and families. The apartments are spacious, huge windows, very well lit, large and lots of closets, big bathroom and bathtub, great central heat/air, clean, continuous renovation from tree trimming to re-striping the parking, excellent landscaping and pre-emptive snow/ice removal. Aside from the apartment, the neighbors are lovely, the clubhouse is fantastic and open 24hrs with a sauna! Key fob, well lit, and great community so you always feel safe no matter what time it is to use the clubhouse. It is next to literally everything, so you can actually enjoy walking and not driving. The office team and superintendents - specifically Lisa and Stefan are the most welcoming and wonderful people, imagine a community where you wave in cars and stop to chat, thats Drakeshire.
1) Absolutely rude staff with no ethics.2) Old building with lot of issues3) Maintenance people doesnt show up for months even after regular follow ups.4) While moving in, they will ask you to compromise for all the old items like carpet, closets, blinds, etc. but will charge you heavily after you move out for every replacement for no reason.5) They give better promotional offers but they recover every penny by increasing cost every year. Cost increase is not same all across (even for same type of apt.) but it is based on their recovery plan.6) Windows are not sealed properly, ducts are old & there is no plan to clean the ducts. In short you pay more on gas due to leakages.7) Refrigerators sounds like helicopter (make lot of noise), again all are decades old.8) Outdoor swimming pool is a show piece. Its either closed or very yucky to swim.9) Many times cafeteria doesnt have coffee (in office building).10) Parking lots are so squeezed you will have dent on your car doors & people responsible doesnt care for other car. Be aware if your car is new or like new.11) Washer, dryers are faulty most of the time. So people dry cloths outside the building.. It Sucks.I can probably add 20 more items to make you go away from Drakeshire apts.BE AWARE! Do not fall in trap for low price, you will end up in paying more in the end.
Low cost rental community appartment. But I see the blocks are too close to each other and no playing area for kids. All groceries and daily needs stores are walkable. Public school is very next to the community making this a preferred rental place for families with Kids.
Lazy maintenance. management never responds to your concerns.dog poop all over.old old apartments.i strongly suggest not to rent these apartments if you have small kids as you can find so many loose sharp nails in walls the management has used to fix other issues.started with broken AC and stove.management took more than 10 days to fix.forget about replacing broken blinds and bulbs.but they fine $50 if you dont pay rent within 5 days of every month.their gym is a joke.basket ball court filled with poop.
It provides a safe environment, as far as security. I see maintenence people and police drive through here all the time. The apartments are spacious and they are slowly remodeling to keep up to par. The downside is that depending where you are, the parking lots can be narrow, and there is only one washer and dryer per building. Not to mention -no carports...and this is Michigan.
I dont write many reviews and have stayed in a lot of apartments since College, please read this and use it as strong consideration for not living here.CONS:1. Cockroach Infestation when I moved in.2. Ceiling collapsed in my bathroom3. Water leaked from the lights4. Bed Bugs - Contractor who works here told me they are all over the apartments but residents dont report them for some reason.5. Outside pool always has Duck and Geese feces in it.6. That pretty lake and field with volleyball nets - always covered in Goose feces. (good luck using the grills)7. Management is stand-offish no matter the issue.8. Little kids always in the roads - so watch out.9. They unplugged my internet and never told me (Not my ISP, just random maintenance)PROS:1. Decent and safe area (Farmington)2. Indoor pool is fun3. Outside looks niceRandom Fact:1. 99% of residents are from India for some reason.
Horrible Leasing team, one of the worst Leasing company i have dealt with. A/C has not been working in the house from last 3 weeks I have complained more than 4-5 times now and they take their own time to even look into the issue, the lady is rude and her response is unreasonable. if your making a decision on picking an apartment this should not be your fist choice.
I lived here for 3 years while I was receiving my medical residency training. Management extremely rude, people working in the office live in the apartment complexes so they are sending letters on office stationary making complaints about you because they think you are becoming disruptive. People making false allegations and the staff lies. When moving, I left the sofa in the garbage in the back. The maintenance person told me I will take care of it; dont worry about it. However, received a bill for $150 for sofa discarding/moving fee. The rent might be cheaper, but please dont consider this place. You will regret living here. Trust me
Its a pretty decent apartment complex. They have a 24hr fitness center, an inside and outside pool, saunas, volleyball courts, ponds in a couple locations, and its a pretty convenient location. Take caution with the leasing agents, though. Neither of the ones that I interacted with know what their talking about at times.
Stayed there for one year and had good experience. Most of the occupants are from indian community. Few walkable shops include Indian grocery store, bank of america, riteaid, subway, gas station. They normally run 400$ referral program during winters so make use of it.
This place is horrible, dirty hallways, very very very old cabinets, fake marble countertops in kitchen and bath. Staff is rude, maintenance NEVER fix anything just put something in place to last a few days, the insulation is terrible, the bathroom tub was stained not to mention the old corroded tiolet. Walls are super thin, you can actually here neighbor using the potty. Not enough parking spaces, area around dumpsters always dirty, when parking lot was repaved they only did the front and around the lease office to give illusion like the complex is nice, make sure you see your apartment before signing the lease because I was totally got on a bait and switch.... and geese crap allllllll over the place ugh!
Very good and helpful management .I lived in Drakeshire Apartments from June 2015 to May 2016 in building 35210. In one year totally enjoyed swimming pool, gym and indoor pool which was always warm and comfortable .Management was very helpful always responded to complaints. The problem I had there was thin walls. I was able to hear all the noises from people living on top or side of my apartment. At night it was very annoying and disturbing. I wish to give them five stars but only because noise Im giving them four stars. These people are awesome! !!! !
Dont live here. The staff is rude, the walls are paper thin, and the neighbors all have 6 people stacked in their apartments. The smell of curry and feet is overwhelming. The unit they show you is in an empty building. If you look to live here, ask them to show you a typical building and you will see. Buyer Beware.
Living here from 4 years..wonderful location..walkable to Groceries, Restaurants, School, Bus stop, Downtown..Nice Houses..Good Gym..Indoor and Outdoor swimming..Basketball court..Nice walk ways..Many Families stayed here very longer periods..Friendly staff..Love this Place..

2022-06-11Is there a zero rating? Coz i would happily give that.. it says they are open Saturdays… i wanted to rent a one bed apartment… i go to the leasing office and a man is sleeping inside at 1… i go back at 2pm and he is sitting on the couch but the door is locked so i knock on the glass door, i see him but he doesn’t even flinch… doesn’t even have the courtesy to get up and tell us if they are even open right now. Save your time, lots of good apartments out there. Do u really want to be a part of this community?

2022-01-15This was my first apartment, and I am pleased with it. The apartments are spacious with a lot of storage, including storage outside of the unit, though I never used that. Admin and maintenance have always been responsive. Very little issue with pests and the like. Never hear anything from the other apartments through the walls, though if they are in the hallway you will hear them.I did have a few issues, one where our AC was out near the beginning of summer. It took a few visits from maintenance and eventually they had to call in outside contractors to replace the entire unit. Additionally, the shower water pressure is not great. On the plus side, the water gets hot quickly. My main issue is the laundry situation. There is one washer/dryer for the 8-unit building, and they are small. It costs 2.00 to wash and 1.75 to dry. Plus to fill up the laundry card you have to go to the leasing office, theres no app or machine in the building. The kitchen is pretty small, especially if you have to keep things on the counters. The location is great, you could walk to downtown if you wanted to (like a half mile), theres a 7-11, Rite Aid, and Buschs within walking distance and a good amount of restaurants as well. The mail boxes can be pretty far, but I found it tolerable when I signed up for Informed Delivery through USPS so I didnt walk across the complex to an empty mailbox.I also like how relatively small the complex is. No matter what building youre in youre not far from one of the exits.

2021-11-02Living in this community for more than 6 years!Pros:Safe and friendly community, more play area for kids and greeneries.Easy assessable (walkable) to many stores and restaurants, near by to schools!Prompt support provided the management for any issues raised in the apartment.Responsive and friendly manager and staffs.Much value for what you pay!Cons:Not allowing to move internally to another apartment even after staying 5 years.Very few staffs need to be more professional.

2021-09-19Edit:After living for 3 months, these are my updated feelings about the community. They have been a nice community and a good maintenance team. Enjoy staying here. The manager is very helpful.

2021-07-18They smell. If you can hold your breath while walking through the hallways then youll be okay but if you cant hold your breath for more than 30 seconds I recommend not walking in any of the apartments. They need to be aired out, the outside doors and apartment Windows should be opened constantly.

2021-08-18Bad customer service. I tried to apply; the lady said she needed me to email her my recent paystubs. No problem. I emailed her screenshots, as I was on mobile. Then she said she couldnt print them; she needed them as a PDF. So I converted them to PDFs and resent them. Then she said she needed originals, not screenshots.A. My work doesnt do paper paystubs; everythings online. Its 2021. This is normal.B. Everyone doesnt have desk jobs with a computer and printer readily available to just print originals, whatever that means.C. The format of my paystubs has never been an issue with anywhere else (loans, other apartments, etc.) Again; this is 2021. Things are increasingly done online and via mobile. It shouldnt be this difficult. I work for a large national chain; and the corporate phone number was ON MY STUBS, as well as the local phone number being on my application. If you feel like integrity might be the issue, you could always call and verify. Yes, this is really me and how much I actually make.If getting a simple thing done is this difficult for me as a prospective resident, I definitely dont want to deal with this lady once I get trapped in a lease.

2021-08-14Just be careful for anyone newly joining at Drakeshire Aprts. Some of the Apts you see power outage frequently (need to invest money on generator/any other things to survive which is crazy) for more number of days & may not get good response from leasing if you seeking for a help, other than that this is a good place to live.
