I have had my truck in a couple times for the same issue after purchasing a head unit amp, sub and box with install. The right side speakers keep cutting out. The harness was replaced last time. I went back in today at 4pm, there site said open until 7pm but the guy at the counter said they close at 6pm, he said that was alot of troubleshooting and wouldnt have time look at it today. All the techs were standing around in one open bay shootin the breeze. I have had no issues with my truck prior to taking it to them. There tinting and detail is way over priced in my opinion. Shop around. If they want a better rating they can always fix the issue before i get time to get it someplace else. Im still under a year since the install. They used a display unit to install in the truck also.
Not really ok, put in door speakers on my TA and I had to fix where they screwed up door mounted window controlsthey broke the mounting screws and did not replace the wire harness where it needed to be so the control would not sit where it was suppost to in the door and kept poping out had to fix myself.
Bought a JL sub and Amp today and had it installed. Happy with the equipment. But, when I got my vehicle back the entire vehicle smelled like cigarette smoke inside (I do not smoke, period). I keep my car very clean and its never been smoked in. It is obvious that while my vehicle was in the install bay for 2.5 hours with the doors all open being worked on, the installers were smoking inside the closed garage area where my car was ans my interior got marinated in cigarette smoke. Very dissapointed and pretty pissed. Will call tomorrow to address this with the location manager.
I had my windows tinted. When I picked up the truck I noticed the installer had made a mess inside my truck leaving spray residue and fingerprints all over the interior of my truck. Furthermore when I got it home i noticed one of the windows had bubbling all over the tint. I took it back in the morning and the manager went out of his way to inconvenience me by telling me I had to make an appointment another day forcing me to bring the truck back another day. Bottom line: poor workmanship and a lousy attitude toward me.
First I called to get an estimate on installing my NIB Kenwood deck in my Harley Davidson Ultra Classic which they told me ballpark $80 if all they had to do was install the deck n i did all the teardown and assembly of the faring. Well after the install they dropped the bomb on me that i had purchased a module at the price of $100 from them to keep the controls on my handlebars. That would of been nice to know when i was getting the estimate! So now im at $180 only to find my freshly installed deck not working! I called them to make sure it worked in shop n they said yes it did n basically i get to load it back on the trailer by myself and pull it 35 min back to flint spending another $20 in fuel and burning up more my time or fix it myself!So having experience installing in my youth first thing i thought was check the main ground to the frame and while i was still on the phone with the guy who personally installed the unit. All of this AFTER tearing my faring back apart that is! I look at the ground and it was connected to the radio with a sheet metal screw one would use fit heating and cooling and i unscrewed it with my fingers! I said u grounded my unit with a frikn sheet metal screw? He replied yes! I asked why? He said becuz i couldnt get to the main ground! I said its winking me right in the face now! Wide open! I then grabbed a wrench and moved the ground to the correct spot! Basically the guy didnt want to unscrew the ground using a wrench because it would of took two minutes so instead he grabbed a cordless screw gun and zapped it in with a self drilling sheet metal screw!! I fixed it while i was on the phone n they basically told me to go F myself!! I aked the giy if he knew how much work it is to pull the faring apart on that model cycle? His answer was yes n then hung up the phone! Thats what i get for taking my business to dukes car stereo on Dort!! ABSOLUTE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
Dort Hwy location has went extremely out of their way to deal with several weird mishaps and they addressed them all. The installed a new instrument cluster, remedied the factory audio warning system, and now are replacing the entire unit from another mysterious failures. Store owner patients have been endless and recommend this location to anyone who is in need of car stereos, alarms etc. Thank you Dukes from Michael Ardelean

2022-02-06Took my car here on a Wednesday morning at 9am to have a preloaded sub with amp installed to my stock stereo. It was done by 12:30pm They did great at installing and everything works excellent. The gentleman I dealt with was super cool and really appreciated him answering my newbie questions.

2022-04-03We were having issues with a self-starter. They did a troubleshoot and didnt charge anything! Will use again and highly recommend them!

2021-07-24Bad bad bad I mean bad.The young kid who waited on mean was unprofessional. First he had to order an part to put in my dash board for an New radio system. O.k he said it be here in two to three days. Quess what yes it was within two day of an month. O.k. I was patient. He call me the part is In after work I went to get my new radio put in. O.k now he told me I need to buy another part if I want my seatbelts alarm to work o.k. so I said go ahead and put it In. Half hour later he said it will not fix and they dont have one to fix my car I getting mad and madder o.k I said could I speak to the manager. I waited and waited and waited. Then this kid come back and said your car ready I said were the manager he said he left gone home I said what yell he went home. O.k. I paid my bill and left. I never heard anything like this before. U ask to speak to an manager and he left and went home. please dont take your car there I had very bad experiences. Also the kid told me my safety belt chimes wasnt working. I quess he was going to add another surprise on me.Be careful.

2021-06-17Literally just said the guy I bought my car from cut off the radio harness so I had too hard wire it and my radio is pushing but i cant figure out why my subs arent and the dude said he had no idea what I was talking about at all and too just bring it in meaning he was probably gonna have me bring it in so he could do a bunch of bs and charge me for it. Not very welcoming on the phone would much rather drive the extra 5 minutes too the other dukes where they work with you very well.

2017-09-09First, Ive always used Dukes on Dort Hwy. Multiple systems purchased and installed there. The last visit was to install a used head unit. I was told it would produce sound but no display. They gladly offered to take it and discount a new unit. I kept it and purchased a new head unit and speakers. Today I revisited the issue and finally checked this before sending it for repairs. (Its a unit still sought after) Guess what?...IT WORKS JUST FINE. Thanks guys. First and last time you sucker this guy. We did business over many many years. Time to part ways.

2020-02-20Having finally convinced myself to get a Kenwood Excelon in my Explorer, I decided to research the shops in my area (Davison) to buy from and who could do the installation. Part of the research is reading ALL of the reviews of a shops past work. Even accounting for those people who can never be pleased, and there are plenty of those, this shop has way, way to many negative comments. Without doing the research, Dukes would have been my first choice. After reading all of the negative reviews, I wouldnt even walk through the door. You guys at Dukes really need to get your customer service act together.

2017-06-10Its saturday and with no appointment I was able to have audio equipment installed with no hesitation. Staff very pleasant and knowledgeable. I am very pleased with the service I received and would recommend Dukes on Dort Hwy. to anyone looking for professional installation, audio equipment and overall outstanding service.

2018-11-27Paid maximum price for maximum service.4 kenwood door speakers $230 and $150 bass $300 installation $680 total.Immediately after install noticed my stereo doesnt get same stations I got in clearly and ones I do get have static..? (Antenna not plugged back in firmly or wire placed too close to antenna or wire wrapped around it... not sure but sucks I cannot listing to stereo without major static).Also after paying maximum price.. after installation.. I asked guy to adjust bass it was pounding and distorted at normal low volume(example.. commercial at conversation level bass would randomly fire and be distorted.)Asked guy to adjust. He leaned in trunk with screwdriver and properly tuned/ balanced it with door speakers.. sounds good.I asked guy if he could explain amp, show my how to adjust he said NO!..He said Id have to bring it in every time I wanted to adjust volume(for different genres)..I received no documentation on how to adjust volume... or bass boost switch.So I havent touched amp... and I am not 100% satisfied that I cannot adjust its levels. Sucks that it bass pounds too hard for rock..and could be louder for rap.What if its as simple as adjusting a knob or flicking a switch....or what if hes the only person capable of adjusting a volume knob, or flicking bass boost switch.. either way it sucks..Positive: guy who installed speakers didnt destroy my car in the process.. that was professional... and appreciated.

2017-12-13Ive been on hold for 25 minutes. Still waiting for someone to answer. I got the all workers are busy thing. Up to 26:37... WOW. I was looking at buying a remote start for my wife for Christmas its like $300! 28:14 and still waiting. I guess I will have to take my business somewhere else. Over 30 minutes. Must be nice to treat potential customers like this. How do you stay in business? 31:15. Im done.
