Comment: This place is a well kept campground, the staff is friendly until they think you arent supposed to be there and then they are pretty rude..(my opinion ). Theres also some weird dude in campsite #1 hes got cameras and motion sensor around his camp and he monitors the laundry room, even seen him opening up someone elses dryer. (Weird). Anyways the campground is a nice place, they sell firewood, have laundry, hot showers, and great hiking/walking trails...would definitely stay here again....worth checking out if youre into RVing...

Comment: We have stayed here twice (once for one night, once for two nights). The place is very idyllic and well maintained. The employees are very nice. The surroundings are really beautiful and in a few minutes you can walk to the nearby hill where you can look out over San Francisco Bay. In the evening it is quite cool and windy. The sanitary facilities are not really modern and 100% clean, but okay.We felt comfortable and would recommend the place. :)

Comment: Good wifi. May 2024 the campground store is not open yet. Landscape is still young . Watch out for burs. Wild turkey in the hills. Firing range nearby, so sounds of gunfire a little alarming. Nice spaces with concrete picnic table and firepit. Some trails are dog friendly.

Comment: This is an amazing campground. In terms of location, it is hard to beat. Youre about an hour from San Francisco, and thirty minutes from San Jose. If you need to get groceries, youre about ten minutes from the store. The campground itself is stellar. Spots are spacious. The fire ring is nice. Because youre right on the bay it does get heinously windy but otherwise youre good. The bathrooms are clean. There is a rule that you cant drive into the park past 10 AM, but ride-sharing and then walking is okay. There are miles and miles of hiking trails that extend from the end of the park. On top of that, there is a rafter of turkeys that wanders through the park. There are also a million blackbirds, bluebirds and finches that call the park home. The price is reasonable, especially given the exorbitant prices of everything else out here. All in all, I would recommend it and return.

Comment: I remember the first time my friends and I decided on a camping trip to Dumbarton Quarry Campground. I didn’t think this was a good campground until we tried the camping here. We loved the campground now.The Dumbarton Quarry Campground doesn’t have lots of trees. But the weather is always nice in the Bay Area. We don’t need the trees. All the campsites are full hood up and the campground is very close to the city with supermarket, shopping, and restaurants. We loved it so much because it is convenient!

Everything but bathrooms were locked you must be back to site by8:00pm or they close. Just not a good place they don’t mow grass is high and so are the sandspurs. No pool, playground is ok but hot during the day.laundry closed, store closed . They need to improve everything.

Comment: A great option for RVs and vanlifers in the Fremont area. Not perfect, but overall good. Friendly staff. Plenty of spaces, all with water, power, and a dump hookup. Has bathrooms and showers on site (no mirrors though). Laundry available (but its pricey). Pet friendly (but watch out for people who dont follow the leash-your-dog rule).

Comment: We enjoyed this campground for 3 nights while traveling up the coast. It’s within driving distance of San Francisco, very clean, has laundry facilities, good Wi-Fi and full hookup. They need to update their online notifications to reflect these services though. We felt very safe here and were completely surprised to find the campground has direct access to trails in Coyote Hills Regional Park and other regional trails for biking and hiking. Staff member Joe was very friendly and helpful making our stay memorable. Anytime we find ourselves in this part of the state, we will be back.

Comment: This campground is a little bit of heaven in the East Bay. All but a few sites are full hookup 50A. Fully paved and wide enough for slides on both sides. Its really nice in the evening. As the sun goes down, the temperature drops to where the AC is not needed. We are here for the maximum 15-day stay.Reserve early as they do fill up.

Comment: I am the local who happens to own a RV. On the occasions that I need to dump the black/gray water tanks for a long trip, I go here. They dont have a dump station. That means I need to pay for the night. I am actually happy to do that as my family and I enjoy the campsite immensely, especially the fire pit. Its right in the Bay Area yet feel like we are in the open nature! A local gem!

Comment: Spacious camp sites with picnic tables and fire pits. Large grass areas. Nice playground for children. Nice bathroom/shower facilities and small laundry. Sounds like paradise, right? The problem with this park is the weed control. The whole place is quickly becoming a giant weed pit. Fox tails and burrs are why I did not rate this park as dog friendly.

Comment: Let me start this by saying the staff deserve 5 stars, easily. The location is my 3 star rating. The sites themselves are actually fairly large, easily accommodating my 41 trailer and my tow vehicle. Plenty of additional parking available as well. Sites are well maintained (again, staff), with full 50A service. Location is also a plus (almost the only location within 30-40 miles. The three main issues preventing a better rating are:- Nearly non-stop wind. You decide if thats a thing for you.- The grounds in between the sites are covered in stickers of all kinds, including the little ball stickers that get stuck in many places, including dog paws. So its pavement-only walks and....- There is no place to let my dog off leash within the grounds, no simple dog run or something similar.

Comment: 1st this is one of the only RV camping areas in the whole Bay Area. 10 stars for location. It is clean with lots RV spots. It is in a nature preserve so there are some extra volunteer plants - weeds. I enjoyed watching birds perched on the plants eating the seeds. I grew up around here but moved to Oregon 28 years ago. We are down for a few days to pick up our son from a camp. We figured we would just use this a home base and go to SF for fun. We never left for 2 days just hiked around. Once we got here WOW we were amazed at the beautiful location. We love to day hike. There are lots 13 of miles of trails. Some are easy trail and some a bit harder hill climbing trails with amazing views. Bike, horse back riding, and hiking. The camp ground is attached to the Coyote Hill, East Bay water front, and nature wet land reserve. Note don’t let the map fool you It is not actually that close to the bridge so no worries there.Today we hiked out the “No Name trail” 2 miles out into the Bay. Really where else can you do that. We will come back for sure.

Comment: Its a shame this park is not maintained because it could be so nice. We visited in a 44 fifth wheel and booked an end site (site 42) thinking it would be an easy back in....it wasnt! The placement of the directional signs and large rocks made it so difficult to back in our neighbor had to help me watch for way to many obstacles. The sites have weeds up to my knees and so many sticker it made taking my dog for a walk a nightmare for him and me. Talking to a staff member we were told that the park was gifted to the district and that the layout was not created by them. The Camp Store was not open, firewood was expensive and the washer and dryer cost $3.50 each. There are nice walking trails, large weed free grass areas to play games on, site are level and it was an easy on/off from highway 84.

Comment: The campground itself is nice but the way its run is not. My parents are staying there while they are in town for a funeral and they just had their reservations for the weekend cancelled because you have to have 15 days between your stays or something like that. Which is fine...IF you declare that up front and dont approve the reservation making them think that they are good to go. Why approve it and then cancel it on them? So now my 70 year old father has to move the trailer and find another place to stay. Its obvious they arent trying to live there!!! They just want a place to keep their trailer and stay while they visit family and attend a funeral and then they will be on their way. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will be blasting you guys in my Fremont Facebook group of 5k people as well. Major fail EBRPD, major fail. 👎🏼

Comment: WORST CAMPGROUND EVER!!!!First, let me say after many years of being full time RVers this is our first negative review of a campground. The grounds of the campground are unkept, trash blowing around and overflowing the dumpsters, dog feces at our site. Described as a new campground with paved sites, we still had to place blocks under the tires of our Class A to get level. The neighboring camper looked like they were having a yard sale and the entrance gate to the campground closes at 10pm and you cannot drive back into the campground until 8am the following morning. The staff did inform us that we may park our car outside the gate and walk the half mile to our site, but the police may tow our vehicle as they have in the past. When I called to request a level, feces free site, Karen in the Reservations Dept. stated absolutely not, no changes to our reservation. When I explained I only was requesting a different site not adjusting our reservation, she explained I would have to pay for the new site in addition to the site we were already assigned. Karen was/is the rudest person I have dealt with in many years, horrible customer service.Do yourself and your family a huge favor and stay very far away from this campground!!!!!

The place is still in process and expanding so I am looking forward too what is to come, but everything is nice and clean. The store and laundry are not open yet and Im not sure when the will be. It will be much nicer when the trees grow as I suspect there would be wind in the area. The days were pretty calm when I visited. Each RV site has nice concrete pads with 50 amp full hook ups. Not to worry, there is 30 amp as well. Also each area has a large concrete picnic bench whis is not movable and a nice fire pit. I will be making multiple trips to Dumbarton Quarry RV Park.

Out family camps every year but this year we purchased a travel trailer and we used this place to go and try it out for a night. Its brand new and very clean. Theres a small play ground and a few small fields to play catch. A trail leads to the Coyote Hills so you can ride your bike or hike there. Not much eles to do here if you like activities on site. Its a low key place just to chill if thats what your into.

Comment: New. Clean! Sites are nice and have full hookups. Enjoy being able to have a quick getaway without the travel time. 👍🏻And the trails are awesome too!

Comment: A review from @amom2kidsandaparkThe newest East Bay Regional Park site to open comes equipped with 63 camping sites (rv and tent), a store, a playground, an amphitheater with fire pit, and picnic areas. Although it is ready for campers, the site has only implemented Phase 1 of opening. Phase 2 will incorporate more neighboring land which will in turn create more exploration opportunities. The campsite is located on the former Dumbarton Quarry which was active for nearly 60 years. Quarrying took gravel from a 190 foot hill to build local airports, bridges and highways. Quarrying the hill created the deepest human made pit in North America at 22 acres across and 320 feet below sea level at the deepest point. The pit was filled with clean debris from local constructions projects and is now one of the few “urban campsites” for miles. Although this doesn’t give the typical escape from the city camping vibe, it does offer traveling families an easy stop over when driving through the bay or local families the chance to give camping a try while being close to home. If all goes to hell you can literally load your kids in your car and drive home. Just return the next day to try again 😅If you need to add nature to your camping visit there are trails that connect to nearby Coyote Hills and the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The play area has a low structure with double slide, steps, short climbing wall, jumping pads, music maker, bridge, and shoot allowing a toy or ball to travel from the top level to the ground. There is a three person teeter totter, climbing logs and rocks with small hiding spots mixed in, and a swing set (hard plastic standard swings). Behind the playground is a large grassy area. There is a bathroom and parking lot near the playground. You may notice there’s basically no shade. The running comment with other parents who were also there on opening day was “this is gonna be a great spot in like 30 years when all the trees grow”. Not an ideal spot for a hot day 🥵As it is a regional park there is a parking fee to access the grounds (even if you want to just drive around to check it out).

Comment: Was not treated too well by supervisor at front gate, he was not very welcoming, I am a handicapped grandmother and just explained I wanted to just do a quick drive through for future outings with my grandchildren, not stopping or even getting out of my car. He said no, sorry you have to pay the $4.00 parking fee. I told him I just wanted to look real quick and will leave. He said yeah so does everyone else So I rolled up my window and left. Dont think ill be going back .
