Edward Hotel & Convention Center in Dearborn
This is a beautiful hotel. The style and colors are very nice. The hotel has had better days, unfortunately, but still holds up. Rooms are acceptable but dated. A refresh is needed, however it doesnt seem likely due to its location. The restaurant is ok, food is alright but nothing spectacular. The pool area is odd and a little creepy, would not recommend this place for a family vacation but is suitable for business travelers and meetings.
We have come here every March for the past 4 years for a dance competition. Each year the hotel declines in cleanliness and front desk service. This year, we checked in on a Friday around 3:30. Plenty of time to get a clean hotel room. None to be found here. The first thing I noticed was the urine and pubic hairs in the toilet along with dried urine spots on the seat. If they can’t clean a toilet, I was fairly sure they hadn’t cleaned the room in full. I called down and the clerk was apologetic and said she’d get someone up ASAP to clean so that I could use the room. Four hours later- still not cleaned. I actually turned on the light and entered the bed area of the room only to be greeted with crushed cracker bits on areas of the carpet and trash on the floor. I called again to complain and was offered another room. The man who helped me move was professional and polite. The 2nd room did not have the trash emptied so I threw the trash can in the hall. Four other Dance families had the same issue with cleanliness. I just cannot with this place. The kicker of it all was that I called Sunday to ask if I could stay later than checkout time. The clerk told me no because they had a “big group arriving and they need time to clean.” I replied “Well we were a big group that arrived and you didn’t clean for us. I find that ironic.” She said that if I wanted to talk to the manager at 10 am, I could. After I said thank you, she hung up on me. It wasn’t even worth it to complain again to the manager. I packed up and was happy to leave. Spend your money elsewhere until this hotel gets its act together.BTW- I took pictures of everything and will post them as soon as I figure how to do it on a phone.
The only thing good about this place was the people who work there. I arrived there with my family at around 5 pm there on Wednesday and the staff had thanked me for staying there. We went up to the room and noticed that the hotel lights in the lobby were dim almost dead and it look Abandoned. We went up to one of our rooms and there was mold in the bathroom. The beds were incredibly lumpy and the the room had food on the ground and on the sheets. The room also smelled a heavy smoker was smoking in there. The next room smelled like smoke and also had incredibly lumpy beds. NEVER STAYING HERE EVER AGAIN! The entire area around the hotel was like a ghost town.
I rented a conference room for a business meeting. I had set this up days in advance and had communicated my needs via email. The staff had trouble providing a main service that they offer, they had to call me several times to sort details out. My needs were incredibly simple, a small room with a table and chairs but it felt like they had no idea what they were doing. When I arrived the staff had no idea who I was or where to direct me despite our multiple conversations throughout the week and my upfront payment. The center itself is beautiful and the bartender was lovely. I won’t be taking business here again.
Not a good place to stay. The lobby is very nice, but that is not the same for the rooms. The temperature was stuck at 85 and we had to have them come fix that. The first room we had the lamp shade was held by tape. The front desk was not very friendly. I had to go 3 floors to find a working ice machine. It is a budget hotel at a premium price.
Hotel was quite, but thats because its an overpriced ghost town. Nothing is open. Pool closed except for 4:30-9pm due to New Hours. Bar completely closed all hours for our 2 night stay. Restaurant was open and the food was good although the servers were on the frigid side. Lobby has the appearance of a nice hotel, but as you get up to the room levels, you see duct tape all over the floor, wallpaper peeling, and just general disrepair. Would not recommend.
Looks good on the outside but in need of some serious update on the inside. The ice machines on just about every floor are in operable. Bodily fluid stains on the carpets on the hall balconies. Heat/air conditioning system was in operable. Numerous hair in my beddding for just checking into a clean room. I could go on but the only good thing was that the television worked.
The hotel looks amazing from the outside and the lobby is amazing. Once I got to my room it was downhill from there. I reserved an executive room and it look like nothing. The room was so outdated from the small nasty looking bathroom with crack tiles on the floor to the rust stains in the tub. Our mattress had a hole in it and the carpet and vent were dirty. Wallpaper was coming off the wall it was just a very bad experience. I will never stay there again.
At least it was a bed to sleep in. This is my second time staying at the hotel seeing as I work right across the street from it but I would rather drive farther for nicer amenities. The hotel is extremely outdated, the carpet is peeling in the hallways and there are definite signs of water damage or leaks on some of the hallway walls. Both times I stayed here there has not been an ice machine on my floor even though there are signs stating otherwise. When I call and ask the front desk about it they say that when the ice machines break they are removed but the signs are not and that if I want ice I can come down to the lobby and they would get me some. There was absolutely no hot water during my showers and not enough power outlets to charge Electronics without unplugging lights and clocks. Just overall a below-par experience for the prices they charge and the image they are trying to portray based on their Lobby.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Edwards had my ladies night here like 2 weeks go. Its a very clean quiet and very nice place. The hotel is very beautiful nice location and pleasant staff. The bar wasnt open but it was still a cool stay. So cool I booked a again already for the near future
When you walk into this hotel it looks very upscale and nice. The staff upon arrival were extremely nice, helpful and professional. The rooms are roomy and decent but not kept up to date. I was on the 11 floor and it was 80 degrees in my room upon entering. I left for a couple hours after turning the cooling system on. But come to find out that really isnt a working system. The engineering guy came and did something and it cooled off nicely. I also had a refrigerator in my room but couldnt get it to work. The nice man that came to check on it said the outlet was no good and put in an outlet strip. The room had no extra outlets unless you unplugged lights and such. The Wi-Fi is just horrible and doesnt work well and at times at all. We went to the in house bar and the hot wings were the worse Ive ever had and they were sent back, but staff were very accommodating and nice about the issue and took care of it straight away. The eatery on the second floor is decent but way over priced for what it is. The banquet services have great employees that are great at what they do and they are extremely friendly. However, the food is really sub par. The housekeeping staff I felt did a great job and my room was clean, smelled good and was kept stocked with clean towels that were not stained. I wasnt highly impressed with the facilities themselves but I thought the staff were outstanding.
This hotel isnt quite as bad as some other Detroit area hotels, and it looks great from the outside, but the rooms are wildly varying in quality. Some with holes in the ceiling, some with fridges, others without, and there are very few outlets available. We came for a large event, and the elevators were completely unprepared for so many people. Not just because they were slow, but they also were laid out in such a way that discouraged people from lining up, and instead encouraged people to skip right ahead and get into the elevator before you regardless of how long you had been waiting. On top of all that, the coffee shop is unfathomably expensive ($2.60 for a Pepsi???????), and the buffet breakfast ($15) is a single skillet full of eggs, one full of hash browns, two fruit bowls, some yogurt and a make your own food station, where you have to pour the batter for pancakes and waffles yourself. And dont DARE try to order off the menu, unless you want to hear 35 minutes of Are you SURE you dont want the buffet? I really recommend the buffet, you can have pancakes at the buffet. If I were you, Id go with the buffet. Also, if you dont order from the buffet, do NOT let the server pour orange juice into your glass (they will try), as it costs $3 for OJ here.Overall, I would never stay at this hotel again if it werent for the event.
DO NOT come here for the rooms, may be nice for an event. There are beautiful elements at this hotel, and then you see torn wall paper, crumpled baseboards, and dirty carpet. The lobby area, restaurant, and lounge looked newly renovated. The rooms are older and smaller, NOTHING to write home about. The views from windows are asphalt and highway. Also, there was some confusion over whether the pool and spa areas were closed for renovation, sign says closed, but at checkout they said open. No USB ports available. Small refrigerator. Only highlight, Felicia who checked us in----PRICELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE, THANK YOU.
Nice hotel under new ownership. They do need to make some upgrades to the building considering its age. More electrical outlets (better outlets) and tech plugs in each room would be a nice addition.A single cup coffee maker does not cut it, but there is a Starbucks in the lobby. The staff was more than pleasant.
This was unfortunately by far one of the dirtiest hotels I have been to. I walked into this hotel on a Thursday afternoon and was never once greeted. I went to the front desk and was just ignored by the lady that was siting there. She just continued to finish up whatever she was doing and then rudely asked me what my name was. I then got to my room which had carpet stains everywhere, stains on the walls, and the toilet seat was peeling. Absolutely disgusting! I asked to switch rooms and had to go down since no one was answering the phone at the front desk. Much to my surprise it was the same lady who checked me in. She got really offended when I said I wanted to switch rooms. Never once did she apologize for the issue, all she asked was why I took so long to switch rooms if it was so dirty. The 2nd room I had was still not as clean as I would have liked it, but I just did not have time to go through a room change again. Room service was great, they were so nice and friendly, the lady who took my orders was named Rachel. When I checked out I was asked how my stay was and I was reluctant to actually tell them my actual experience. I only stood at this hotel because it was where the convention for work was being held. The vibe you get from this place its a massive hotel that used to be great but was abandoned.
Very cool place. Very expensive restaurant, but tasty. Maintenance issues with door and tub were quickly resolved. The room we booked didnt show up in their system so it took 30 minutes to straighten that out only to be put in the wrong type of room we originally booked. That too was resolved in the end. There was blood on the wall in the bathroom which was disgusting too, but it was cleaned up after i pointed it out.
From the website it appears to be a nice hotel. With all the common modern amenities. Upon entrance (granted it was after 9pm) I expected to see porters or bellman to assist with parking and baggage. There was none.On check in, the card issued to me to enter my room did not work. I had to make several trips to the main desk to take care of that before getting a card that worked.Once on my room floor, it was apparent that the carpet, paint, and other fixtures were in dire need of repair and replacement. This continued into my room. The carpet was gross and disgusting, typically I have no problems with taking my shoes off and walking about. But I was floored when I realized how dirty my once white socks were getting. The bathroom had an assortment of fine black hair all strewn about. Lack of adequate lighting in the bathroom was also an issue. The room had a very stale smell. Heating and ventilation was also not great.I felt like this hotel and conference center adequately represented Detroit - glimpses of grandeur past.
A bit old hotel and convention center. There is usually only one receptionist working, which made our check-in much longer that needed. They have nice views to downtown if you are staying on a higher floor. The fitness center is not too big but usually not too busy either. Food is okay and the portions are big, the waiters are really friendly.
Well the lobby is fab...but the rooms are mediocre at best. They were a let down from the décor of the lobby. I have stayed at better Best Westerns. The bathroom is small. The TV is ancient and you can barely view from the bed. The room was an average size. Parking is a hike. The housekeeping is not great either. No bag for my ice. I had to ask three different people to get my room cleaned since I wasnt up at the crack of dawn. The room was cold even after maintenance fixed temps. Only thing great was the mall and the view from the hotel.
The staff was awesome...but the hotel...what happed? We havent stayed since March 2016. 2 years ago the hotel was beautiful. No peeling wallpaper or burned out lights...plus they had a fully functioning Starbucks, and a really nice gift shop. We were really disappointed that the gift shop was gone, and the cafe no longer did specialty drinks. Everything was so overpriced - $3.00 for a medium black coffee, or a bottled 20oz. soda! Our room was ok, kinda run down looking. It looked like they might be doing some renovations...but it was hard to tell. Lots of messed up walls & carpeting.
One of the worst hotels Ive ever stayed at. Room is really hot. Called the front desk, they sent engineering, but when engineering came we were told the rooms temps are controlled via a computer in an office downstairs-the room temp didnt go lower than 80 both nights. We needed more towels, toilet paper (what was in our room was stained brown when we got here) called the front desk & were told they send towels & toilet paper right up. Called back 45 minutes later & we told again theyd send them right up. We finally got everything after 30 more additional minutes (hour and 15 minutes all together). Pool never had towels. Id call from my cell phone to the front desk & request towels. The second day, I called & requested towels after no towels 40 minutes later I called & requested them again. The front desk told me they didnt have any clean right now & theyre in the dryer. Mind you the pool is freezing & the poor kids were shivering already just from the water temp & now theyve got nothing to dry off with. Waited another 40 minutes without a towel & just gave up & got the kids out of the pool. Also forgot to mention the horrible shower. It leaked & water filled up in the tub while youre taking a shower. I hope never to stay here again!! Just horrible!!!
The service was horrible. I was struggling with my bags and things, there was an automatic door that required me to push. The service men outside the door just watched me struggle instead of offering help. The bathroom door wouldnt lock and there was a leak in my shower head. Food is expensive. The door was extremely difficult to open and key was laggy. I hope one day the management will consider fixing the door, if they are nice enough. Not! The rooms were okay, but not great. the nice thing was the layout of the hotel and tv cable and Internet. The location was nice too where it was near a nice mall.
Disgusting, Dirty and Disrespectful Hotel and Staff. From the beginning of our stay until the end every aspect of our stay was unexceptable. Restaurants and housekeeping were poorly understaffed. Our room was never touched by housekeeping even after multiple phone calls to front desk for toilet paper and fresh towels. Rooms, hallways and public restrooms were filthy. Water from bathroom shower was brown. We were there for a convention and there was not adequate staff to feed our group in the hotel restaurant. We brought food in and were assessed a large fee to simply feed our children in the hotel when they could not accommodate us. They have 800 rooms at this hotel with only three elevators in service. I waited twenty-five minutes for an elevator! I think what is most concerning is the lack of customer service and common decency when you are staying at a hotel that simply does not care about your basic needs. Hotel should be condemned. My next steps will be to report to MDOH.
Hello everyone, I am here at the Edward Hotel in Dearborn Michigan, i arrived here on 9/28/2018. Had I known this hotel was not up to date, I would never had stayed here, I stayed 2 night and 3 days to long. The rooms remind me of something back in the 1960s, there was no refrigerator, no microwave, heat or air conditioning was not working. Please do not be fooled by the pictures they put up on their web page or the lobby, they have that fixed up so lovely. I wouldnt never recommend this hotel to no one, not even my dog. I wouldnt tell my enemy to stay there, I would save them from that place. I believe just my family and I was in the hotel, we went up for a wedding, and never saw anyone else but my family. Please whatever you do, do not stay there. God bless!
Convention hall is large and spacious. Hallways are wide, and plentiful seating is available. Catering service is well staffed and quick to their job. Climate control is good, keeping temperatures comfortable even in the most crowded spaces. The help desk was friendly and quick to a variety of tasks.
This hotel did not match up to my expectations. The rooms were dirty, the shower did not drain properly, the ice machines were all broken, and many of the elevators were broken. However, the staff at the hotel were all fantastic. They were polite, friendly, and helpful.
I recently received a free stay at this hotel from an airline, so I cant speak on price or value. However, they had great service at 12am and 5am, and the rooms were cozy. The bed was especially comfortable after a long day of cancelled flights. Only thing I thought was strange was that the TV was positioned perpendicular to the bed. With limited seating in the room, why not move it to the far wall?
This is by far the worst hotel in terms of appearance I have ever seen and stayed in. How the heck is it a 4 star. Wall paper and base peeling and patches everywhere and how much is it to replace a toilet seat? Gesh!!! The outside appearance and lobby is nice until you get off the elevator and head to your room. The next time my work send me here I will rather pay to stay somewhere else. The staff is great but the hotel gets a negative star from me.
I really wish I could give this place less than one star. The hotel lagged in many ways firstly, when it came to internet there was no WiFi in the rooms as well as in the business executive room, meaning getting work done there is nearly impossible. I did contact tech support but there was no solution. Furthermore, the cleanliness in the hotel was awful as the sheets and bedding do not get changed daily, not to mention there was the carpet in the room was stained. The coffee in the hotel wasnt the best either it certainly needs improvement. Overall the hotel is outdated and is in severe need of renovations it may have been a nice place to stay back in the day, but its current situation is shameful.
When I checked in it was nice lobby and I paid 130 for the night. but the rooms were not that nice. they lacked power outlets as they only had 2. not only that my toilet seat was yellow so I asked for a new room. in the extra bed you could feel the metal too but it was not that bad
1) I found the wallet of previous guest in a drawer.2) The sinks and toilets were backing up. One of our party slipped and fell in the bathroom because of backed up toilet.3) The building was cold.4) Catering Manager was difficult to deal with: We did not get deserts with our meal. Manager did not believe me. I had to find server and her confirm story before we could get deserts we had paid for.5) When I complained to hotel manager, he had same attitude as catering manager.6) Then there was the issue of at least one of our guests had their car stolen from parking lot.Is there anything else that could go wrong?
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I am trying to move to a different hotel ASAP. Everything is dirty. My pillow was stained and disgusting. The bath tub had rust and chips in enamel. Carpet was filthy. Room was extremely musty and AC was not cooling at all. My daughter and I both got bug bites soon after we arrived in our room. Not sure if it is fleas or what - tiny little bites so I assume fleas. Did not sleep at all. Hallways had holes in walls, stains on ceilings, poor lighting and carpet that was pulling up. Signs that said renovation in progress everywhere but no signs of any work being done. Even the guy that worked there told us this hotel has just continued to decline these past few years. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY.
I just stayed at this hotel this weekend and they did not take care of the very few guests they had at all. We asked for an upgrade or a discount for the trouble we went through and still deciding to go after the convention, aka my original reason for going, and they said no. They did not clean our room much at all as there were bobby pins everywhere when we walked in and the toilet looked like it has not been cleaned in years. They gave us small beds, much smaller than we had last year then started saying that they had those last year when i have pictures of a much bigger bed from my last visit. I also woke up with multiple bug bites on my hands and legs after my first night there. The pool and hot tub had dirt thrown into it and the manager said it was fine and that was apparently normal but when we showed her again, instead of just saying theyd send someone down to scoop it out they got dramatic and said theyre gonna shut the pool down when the dirt was all on the top and could have been easily scooped out whether people were swimming or not. I was told over the phone that the pool was now heated but that was a lie. The filters were off the whole time and Ive NEVER seen a pool do that. I will also add that legally your pool room has to be 80-85 degrees but it was a cold 60 maybe 70 degrees. I am very disappointed and i will NEVER be coming back. You need to fix yourselves before you go out of business.
They were in the process of renovating. It took me more than 10 mins to get from the 3rd floor to the first because 3 of the 5 elevators were working. It took MORE than 6 hours to bring face towels because room service didnt leave any. My father asked for a fridge on Thursday when we arrived due to none of the ice machines were working. They had a sign stating pardon our dust, the pool and spa are closed. The room door that we stayed in didnt ever close completely because the deadbolt stayed stuck. I expected a lot better quality. Eventhough we were getting a group rate... still not worth the hassle. Stay across the highway at the double tree!! At least that give you a fresh warm cookie when you check in!
There was some kind of dance event happening. So the entire hotel was vibrating from thumping music at 8:30 am each morning. The hotel has blatant disregard for any other guests that stay there. The heating was also broken. Many people were complaining about how cold it was. A friend if ours didnt even have towels in her room when she arrived. She had to wait 30 mins to get some towels which made her late to an event we were attending. Would not recommend that anyone stay here. Do t be decieved by the pretty lobby or casino like enterance.
Recently I stayed at this hotel for a ballroom xplosion and I was very disappointed with the inside appearance of the hotel. We stayed on the 10th floor and there were torn up wallpaper, the carpets were covered in sheet rock dust and dirty. The soda machine on our floor did not work, there was no ice machine. Granted they are undergoing renovations but Ive stayed at hotels in the past who were undergoing renovations and you could not tell...the property was still clean and the areas that were under renovation was off limits. Many of the rooms did not have refrigerators nor microwaves. Also, on Saturday we never received room service. We left our room at 10:30 am and upon returning we were surprised to find that our room had not been cleaned. When I went downstairs to the front desk I was told that because they were booked, that housekeeping may not get to our room until 6:00 pm. I asked for some clean towels and went back upstairs. We left for our event and returned at 1:00 am and our room still had not been cleaned!! Also, they do not have a reliable hotel shuttle service..when we asked about the shuttle services, we were told that it would be available from 11 am to 1 pm IF the driver was available. The front desk could not reassure us that it would be available at all times. Lastly, we stopped by the coffee shop to get some pastries and from first glance you could tell that the pastries were old and stale. When I asked for the price of the sugar cookie, the cashier told me $1.89..when I asked when were they cooked she was not able to answer the question. For the prices that we payed this weekend the service was very subpar. Needless to say I will not be returning to this hotel again.
The room was dated. The bathroom was super small. The shower curtain smelled like mildew and the tub was dirty. The shower head was corroded. There are no microwaves in the room. Make sure you read the incidentals when youre checking in because they will charge you for make up being on the towels. I would not recommend this hotel.
Stayed here recently for a convention. Main lobby is the only nice thing about the property. Rooms were filthy, hallways filthy, cords hanging out of the walls, wallpaper peeling and hanging, bedding was stained, sheets had dried food on them, no refrigerators in rooms we were assured would have one, halls had areas where they were boarded up, rooms were gross, heat couldnt be adjusted finally just turned it off, elevators were a joke (only 2 of the 5 were operating on a weekend with a fully booked hotel), vending machines completely sold out on every floor, furniture in lobbys at each floor was so dirty and beat up that it looked like they had been picked up from someone garbage they left at the street. We were charged the incorrect amount for our rooms .....the list goes on. Still makes my skin crawl thinking about this place. Find another place to stay!!!!!!
Terrible experience. The hotel room is very dated. Our toilet got backed up twice and you need to hold down the lever for about 30 seconds for it to properly flush. If its anything other than #1, get ready for a back-up. The room feels dirty and even the sink faucets feel like they are going to fall off. Check-in took a very long time and when I had to change rooms because of the toilet it took even longer because they only employ two front desk attendants for a hotel the size of a large Las Vegas hotel.
This hotel is very beautiful especially on the inside. My siblings and I were planning a reception for our grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary. Approximately 2 weeks before the event we were faced with finding a new venue that would suit our event and budget. The Adoba Hotel staff were very flexible and helpful in helping us host our event in one of their banquet rooms. The staff was very quick in responding to any questions/concerns we had. They were very attentive prior to our event and most importantly during our event. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Shelley, Vicky, Mary, Sue, Stephen, Ben and the entire staff that made our event great! Some of our guests actually stayed the night at the hotel. I found the rooms to be both comfortable and spacious. We will definitely consider this location as a first option for any other events we plan to host in the future.
Our friends daughter had rashes from bed bugs. Stayed at this hotel for a basketball tournament and it was the worst place that my family and I have ever stayed at. Players from all over the U.S. and Canada booked rooms at Edward hotel and most of the people that we spoke with had complaints about how dirty their rooms were. Showers and toilets didnt function properly, couldnt get any hot water after my wife took a 5 minute shower. From booking to checking out, my wife and other people would get a pissy attitude from the front desk staff like they were bothered and had other important work to do than take care of guests. Book at smaller local hotels instead of this place, youll regret staying here!
I was here for the 2018 LSTC Dyna Conference. The location is right off of the highway and very easy to get to. The rooms were adequate size for the event i was attending and were well labeled and easy to find. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly. I hope the conference is here again next year!
Room was okay. Front desk staff was not very professional. Our room was not ready when we arrived. We were given a key to a room, went to the room and it was not cleaned. Was placed in a new room, an accessible room and was told to check back for a regular room. When we went back for the regular room we were told that we should have checked back earlier in the day for another room. All the rooms were booked at this point. This was not handled the best. We stayed in the accessible room.
They laughed when we asked if they had free coffee. Then charged $8 for two small drinks that cost $2 at any store in the area. No gas stations are in walking distance, so they price gouge. All night people slammed doors and let their kids run wild. The exterior looks nice, but it isnt as nice in the rooms. You can get much better for same price.
We stayed here for 1 night and were truly impressed with hotel itself, accommodation and service. The place is huge. 14 floors, lobby is mind blowing, rooms are standard nothing fancy compare to everything else around. There are shops on the bottom floor where you can buy souvenirs, t-shirts, snack and other minor stuff. Buffet is slightly overpriced but convenient. There is pool, jacuzzi and sauna as well. Overall very impressed with this vote and definitely stay again
The hotel itself was in complete dissrepair. Wall paper was coming off the walls in the hallway plus they took the ice maker out on our floor. The room itself was pretty nice but the beds are way too small if you have to share with another person. We were here for a convention and I am hope we never come here again.
Unbelievably rude staff who carried the stench of self-entitlement. The rooms were filthy other peoples hair in the restroom. We found six pins behind the desk where its never been moved or clean behind. All in all just a dirty room. We had over 10 rooms in our group all the rooms were just as dirty as the next. While the lobby looks great the room leave a whole lot to be desired. They are in dire need of being updated and cleaned.
Stayed there this past weekend. UGH !! We would NOT recommend this facility for anyone. Went there for a medical conference. Duct tape to repair torn carpet in hallway, wall paper taped back up on wall, toilet in room ran continually, unpleasant staff. Carpet in room appeared and felt VERY dirty, bathroom not clean and limited towels. We could NOT wait to get back home to take shower and feel clean again. Truly, consider staying elswhere if in this area. Read the other reviews, this place is a mess!! Would give this a ZERO MINUS For the cost, we dont know whats going on here. If people continue to stay here nothing will change.
The hotel looks nice from outside and also the lobby. The rooms are just ok, nothing fancy, but the big problem was that the room wasnt properly cleaned. We found small pieces of broken glass on the floor and the carpet, and unfortunately the way we found out was when my friend stepped on the glass and got injured. Thats a big problem but not the only one, we also found a used bag of coffee in the coffee maker and the tub looked like it needs some serious cleaning. I saw a food tray on the floor on the hallway for a full day. All this makes me think they dont clean very well. On top of everything, when you select a hotel, you expect everything to be exactly as advertised but that was not the case, as the jacuzzi doesnt work.I definitely wont stay here next time I come to Detroit.
Stayed for 3 nights. Pool, fitness center and spa were not open the entire time. Had to jump thru hoops to get the free breakfast the website promised (the staff at the hotel restaurant is the only bright spot this hotel has to offer). Lobby bar was open only 1 night. Had to call and request that room get cleaned. There is wallpaper falling off walls in all the hallways and ripped carpet everywhere. Only found 1 working ice machine. This is the most overpriced and poorly run hotel I have ever stayed in. If I could post this review with 0 stars I would.
The hotel is worn down with stained carpet, ripped chairs, and chipped tubs in the rooms. The HVAC is struggling too. We had to be moved 2 times before they got us a room with a functioning thermostat. The staff I encountered were fine and helpful but the condition of the place does not warrant more that $90a night.
The photos online are very nice but the hotel in reality is very run down and old the carpet is rumpled and the wall paper is pealing off the hallway walls, the pool was freezing, the hot tub was a dirty greenish yellow with a pop bottle floating in it. The gym was closed, the restaurant was never opened during our to day stay. I wouldnt recommend staying here. Seriously the only thing pleasant was the cleaning staff and the valet staff.
I didnt stay at the hotel, but attended a small convention there. Any staff I encountered during my short visit were very friendly. The building is beautiful inside, which you wouldnt assume when driving by. Its conveniently located just off the highway and next to a mall, should you desire any shopping. Its not a far drive to get until Detroit proper either.
We attended through a nearby event we were attending. For three days we were told that no rooms were available. Then suddenly unlimited rooms became open. The drive from DTW is about 30 minutes. Check-in was effecient. Room quality was average. Hotel seemed in need of overall renovation. The indoor pool was closed for three of our four days. Carpets were dirty. Wallpaper was peeling or poorly patched. The hotel is across the street from a large mall which was oddly without customers each time we went there. If you arrive with lowered expectations you wont be disappointed. Just dont expect a Vegas or Orlando type of convention hotel.
Booked the room for my grandsons 7th birthday party. Mainly for the pool they boast about. The area was 50 degrees. Asked them to turn on heat, took hours. Sauna was broken. Hot tub shut down. Pool was filthy! I asked them to clean and they would not.So back to the room. Turned the heat on was at 55 and took 3 hrs to reach 67 and never got any hire then that. Had it set for 80. We froze all weekend. The room looked like it hadnt been cleaned in 10 years, water stains, dirty battub, broken faucets, coffee Machine was from dollar tree Im sure..the best part of all is when the sun went down the 17 year old gang members started ariving. The entire floor smelled of pot, they brought ladies of the night with them. We locked our door and prayed for the sun to come up!I asked my grandson the next morning, did you have a good time? He said, well this isnt a 4 star hotel! Can we just go!?Overall great experience!!
Went there for the ballroom xplosion. The ballroom was nice. The dinner and party was great. But the hotel was blah!. The staff was very nice and very willing to work with you. But the rooms dont match the big ballrooms. Up grading was in progress and must be done with expediency.
The location was easy to get to, very pretty from the outside and well set up inside. The room was basic, which is okay, but our bathroom door wouldnt latch so people would walk in on other people. That was annoying. We called to request a refrigerator (not all the rooms came with a mini fridge apparently) for one of our friends staying with us who just starting taking life saving meds that need to be refrigerated. They said all the mini fridges were being used. Offered to bring us an ice bucket. They brought us a bucket with no lid to start with. Had to call back to get a lid. Ice melts. Call back for more the next morning because the ice machine by our room was just..like not there. They brought us up an empty bucket with no lid. I even explained to them the importance of needing to refrigerate this medicine and they just didnt take it seriously at all. Told me Id have to go to the other side of the hotel to use the ice machine there. Not happy about the lack of help we got with the problem. They were nice about it but just didnt get how important this was.
This hotel is very nice, however the situation we underwent was a horrible experience and we will never go there again. We arrived late after a concert, and was told no rooms were available, although we booked it online 2 months in advance. We were upgraded to a deluxe room with no extra pay, which was nice. When we arrived at the room, it was still dirty. Trash everywhere, used towels, everything. We then went back down to the lobby to wait one hour for them to figure out what to do. The second room we finally got ended up already being taken, with someones bags already in it. Finally, the last room and 3 hours later from when we arrived, we were able to get a room from them upgrading us yet again because of the no rooms available. Although the staff was very nice, gave us a free breakfast voucher, and helped us, it was a huge inconvenience after just wanting to be able to relax at 11pm. The hotel itself is nice, and if you want to risk the inconvenience, go ahead. You may want to make sure you check in as early as possible!
The entire first floor gives the impression of a nice hotel,..... until you get to your outdated, small, Bates motel looking room. No fridge or microwave in my room, no comforters, no amenities. It was so hot, I turned the air conditioning on and the temp kept rising. Set on 66 and room was a very uncomfortable 80 degrees. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. One of the worst hotels Ive ever stayed in.
This place was alright. It needs updating. The things in the room are obviously very old. On a good note, it can hold tons of people. On a bad note, it can hold tons of people so sometimes there is high school events where people get crazy. We had to evacuate because some kid decided to pull a fire alarm when there was a fight at a high school dance. The communication was subpar and the fire alarm cant be heard in half the rooms hence the 3 stars. Nice place when things are going right
Ive stayed so far a total of 3 times with my family of 4.Our first stay was pleasant, though the adjoining room with the pass through door had some obnoxiously loud visitors. They offered to move our room, but only my wife was disrupted during her sleep and it wasnt worth moving the kids. Our second stay was during a particular convention we werent aware of. They hadnt gotten our hotwire reservation(and hotwire will never see our business again), but they found a room for us, and even though it was VERY busy and loud the staff was very accommodating. Our third visit we were treated either for coming back three times, or just coming back even with the convention. Our originally booked room wasnt available for early check-in, but it didnt have the two beds we needed for the kids. They got us into a two bed room and with early check-in.The valet as expected, is polite and greeting. Even the room service/cleaning are polite in contact. Front desk also is very polite and willing.I was charged twice, unexpectedly for a recent extended stay. At first my call with the front desk, the gentleman was a little too quick to assume the charge was a pending status. But as he dug a little more, he found the secondary charge and reversed it for me.I do plan on staying here again.
Big room, comfortable bed, and free fridge. Poor internet connectivity, mold in the bathroom, pool and gym closed, no room service in the later evening hours, no ice in ice machines on multiple floors, and lots of torn wall paper in hallways. I was here for a business meeting and wouldnt book again.
The place is very beautiful; however, they need to be more prepared for events. I attended a conference couple weeks ago and I noticed most of the lecture rooms were running of water and it took them so long to bring water out for the attendees. That happened almost in every lecture hall.
Nice size venue but its time for some updates. Trash cans throughout the convention center, were overflowing during the time we stayed for dance competition. Staff did not do anything about it even after many co.plaints and garbage piling up on the floors. They must be short staffed. It has really gone downhill over the years. Sad.
We visited the Italian Restaurant Giulio and Sons. The food was very good, the service was excellent and the pampering was outstanding. We surely miss the salad and desert bars. I am not sure how much longer they will be able to continue serving people without the signature offerings of the bars.
I am relocating to the area from out of state and this has been a wonderful home away from home. The staff has become like a second family welcoming not only myself but my dog under their watch. It was very refreshing to find a full service property in Michigan that accepts my “furbaby” as a member of the family. The gals at the lobby bar and coffee shop have taken to having special items for him available such as carrot sticks, broccoli and green apples! Being here for an extended period I have seen the weekend social gatherings to corporate business groups and confess concern over sound as we are on the lowest floor just above the lobby & event space. Much to my sheer delight….. there weren’t any problems and even more glorious….. I have always had hot, HOT water and at a great pressure. I had truly assumed that with a “full house” I would not have a strong shower and WOW I was wrong and happily so I am almost torn with my impending departure. The staff has truly become a family and I will be forever grateful and recommend the property highly!
I was here for my daughter dance convention. The Lobby is beautiful, however the floors with the rooms are horrible. The walls had water damage a and the base boards & wallpaper were detached. The tub was full of yellow rust. This room looked like a motel 6. Very disappointed
The staff is really friendly and they make you feel right at home the rooms ate big and spacious the food is great and the drinks at the bar are awesome the pool is nice and the view is great . . the mall is right at the front door. What a great place to stay. Tell everyone book a weeding family reunion. Or the pastors aanaverserey have a party . what a great place a conventional center as well. Had a ball.
Hotel is very quite and it has a grand and magnificent lobby. I have stayed here countless times and have had many fonde memories throughout the years. I was able to witness this hotel during its hay day back when it was the Hyatt Regency Dearborn. As of now the hotel needs some maintenance, many of the features like the hot tub, sauna and exercise room are closed. The rooms are starting to show their age. I have noticed that the 13 story circular string of lights that use to hang from the roof of the lobby has disappeared. Its sad to see such a magnificent hotel close down. I still hope this hotel will once again open and regain its former glory.
In shock and awe of how poor my experience has been so far. At 9pm when I arrived to check in after a long day of travelling I was told the check in systems were down and there was no way for me to get a room. Although very surprised to hear this (as Ive never heard such a thing before) I calmly asked how long the issue had been and when it was expected to be resolved. The check in staff had no information and no estimate of when the issue would be fixed. As compensation for the inconvenience they offered me 15% off dinner... At 9pm?? I said I already had dinner, but a drink voucher at the bar would be nice. I was told they could not offer any alcohol as compensation and that I would just have to wait. After an hour, I went to check on the status, now 10pm and was told still no idea when it would be fixed and Id get an update in another hour. At this point Im very tired and frustrated with the process so I asked what would happen if the systems dont come back up. I requested that I could provide my name, number, and card info in order to get a room and finish check in the next morning. During this conversation I was rudely interrupted by another staff member who told me the longer I bothered them with questions the longer it would take to resolve the issue. Finally after 2 hours waiting the systems came back up and I was offered a free coffee and free breakfast voucher (breakfast was already included in my room rate) for my trouble. So about $5 tops compensation for 2+ hours of rude staff and no access to a bed I paid for.Absolutely insane that this 4 star hotel simply shrugged its shoulders and allowed 50+ customers to wait around for a bed they paid for without even the slightest effort to ease the inconvenience with any type of compensation. The next morning the systems are down again and more guests are having the same issue. Amazingly poor service and attention to their paying customers comfort. If youre booking for a corporate occasion, plenty of other hotels would be willing and better capable of servicing customers properly.
Worst hotel ever. Looks like an abandoned ship or a haunted house. The room was dirty, ( sheets had not been replaced ), somebody was smoking weed in his room and the whole hallway was full of smoke. The reception staff is rude and not helpful at all.The gym is like the rest of the hotel, all the machines are broken and never maintained. The mall in front of the hotel is similar to what it probably was in the 80s...looking old and abandoned....run away !
Attended Dance Convention Feb 2-4 2018 and this hotel stay was horrible! Checked in to hotel, went to our room, and 10 minutes later a knock at the door-they booked another family into our room. Hotel booked to capacity (according to front desk). Employee picking up trash in hallway (as people were emptying their own trash and setting it outside their doors) asked me if I needed anything. I asked for 2 towels and washcloths, she said that they did not do laundry last night, so there might not be any available but she would track some down for me. So, I waited in my room for an hour and she finally came back with them. (Thank you!!) Room had a refrigerator and it worked. However, the room was dirty-floors not vacuumed or swept (found pins, grape stems, used tissues in bathroom under the sink behind the trash can). Not enough outlets in the room. Coffee shop in lobby makes Starbucks coffee but it is not a Starbucks. There is no store as indicated in some pictures I have seen. While in lobby, saw several people asking for the manager and most waited over 40 minutes, no manager showed, so they finally left. Elevators were slow. It snowed several inches and no one bothered to shovel a path to the handicap parking. Valet parked cars without giving a ticket to the customer...saw several folks come back to valet asking for their ticket. NEVER saw an employee in lobby picking up/dusting or sweeping the floor. Only saw one maid cart, and that maid was not going to every room just what was on her list. (perhaps rooms that got checked out that day). Had to ask for toilet paper. It is best to go toward M12 for restaurants and stores. Went to a nearby TGIF and the entire experience there was horrible. There was an emergency siren going off outside (similar to the once a month test) at 9-10pm and it went off frequently. Front desk said we would check into it and get back to us...NEVER DID. Made me think if there was a real emergency that this hotel would not be able to direct or help their guests. Saw more security people than I did employees-who basically were sitting in the elevator area all day. Every elevator ride was filled with stories of horrible guest experiences. One woman had to change her room 3 times because the room thermostat did not work...she was either in a room 100 degrees of 30 degrees. Could not wait to check out. Prior to attending the dance convention, I read reviews and wanted to change hotels, but my daughter wanted to be with the rest of her team...so I did not change my booking. Lesson learned!
The lobby was 5 start but the rooms were Super 8. The first room we had the lamp shade was hanging on by tape. The second room the heat was broken so it was 85. They came and fixed the heat and it promptly broken again the next night. The staff was not very friendly and I had to go up 2 food to find a working ice machine. We will not stay there again.
Stayed there about a month ago. I dont recommend this place to anyone, to stay in, or to hold conferences at.When we got there and asked about our convention, the work staff had no idea what we were talking about. Our event was up in the retunda, one of the 2 elevators stopped working and it took people 15 minutes to catch the one elevator to get up to our event. We had to send people to the main entrance to show our guests where to go because the staff was so unhelpful, then take the 15 minute elevator ride back up...There was an old room service tray outside of my door when I got my room. My neighbor and I just ended up using as a marker to find our rooms, because it was left there The 3 days we stayed without being cleaned up.The ceiling on a number of the floors was missing tiles and was leaking, there was large trash cans everywhere under leaks to collect water. The hallways had wallpaper ducktaped up to cover who knows what. The carpet was coming up and was ducktaped down in some places. And to top it off, the pool was broken.
Big place with cool architecture. This place changed names quite a few times. This most recent go around they seemed to pick up some good staff along with the new name. Its the only place around that seems to be able to reliably host a particular three thousand person convention that frequents the Detroit area. Rooms are a little dated but they almost all have a good view.
Very nice and helpful staff. -2016I wont change my rating I gave last year, but its worth noting that I have some deep concerns about the new management of the hotel. They cancelled a massive event called the Midwest Media Expo only two days before the event started, leaving the event organizers scrambling and attendees from across the country that have been planning for this event confused and frustrated. I hope that the Edward Hotel has a very good reason for their decisions, but I advise you to be wary of organizing events here in the future. -2017
Worse hotel I’ve ever stayed at!! Horrible front staff — unfriendly and aloof. The lobby and entrance are very deceiving because they look somewhat modern, but the rooms haven’t been updated in ages and are old, with dirty carpets and scraped up doors. Their internal plumbing system needs a major upgrade! It was awful and disgusting because their tub wouldn’t drain and we found out the next day that our friends who stayed in a room down the hall had the very same problem with their tubs not draining as well. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights and we all left after the 1st night. Never again!!!
This iconic hotel is amazing. If you want to see real architecture and a real hotel experience stay here. The service, food and facility are world class. Excellent beds, shower, internet and Starbucks coffee, what more do you need! The value for my dollar was excellent and again, the staff and attentive service were sincere and professional.
Looks were deceiving- walking in the valet were in a verbal disagreement yelling at one another. I brought it to the attention and though it was handled immediately it was rude. We were offered complimentary buffet after I complained of the disappointment upon my arrival. The room had no fridge and was outdated. There were no fans in the bathroom/vanity area and the condensation was leaking and dripping from the ceiling. I took a VERY dirty towel down to the desk upon check out as that is what housekeeping left for our use. We also went to have breakfast as it was complimentary. The waiter/busser was awkward which is what it is but all of the food was cold! They turned the hot table off. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, hard cold waffles- when we brought it to our waiters attention he said that was not his area- it was his job to get us water and take our plates- when had to ask for our food to be warmed up which made it worse... I went down to the front desk and complained ... She apologized but nothing changed- I got back up to the restaurant and the restaurant mgr was yelling at the waiters but still cold food- we checked out and reviewed our stay. They said they are sorry and hope we will come back but there was nothing they could do-- there was trash all over the entrance and people had items all over the hotel. 5 allegedly running elevators but they were always packed and very slow. I would not stay again:(
Looks like a nice hotel, though it isnt contemporary styled at all. My room wasnt very clean (dirty paper towel chunks stuck to the bathroom walls, worn toilet seats, stained and chipped sinks, dirty glasses, paper cups were dirty even though they were packaged, closet door was half broken), and no amenities (no hair dryer in the room, none of the pop machines work, and no cotton balls/cotton swabs). Food was just OK at the restaurant, and service was mediocre. Served its purpose for my business trip, but the experience was subpar.
When I was here for Frostbite 2018 the hotel service was great, the venue (grand ballroom) was very spacious, and the rooms were so nice and the TV in the rooms are lagless, so theyre good for gaming. The free breakfast buffet is the best Ive ever had at a hotel, I would book a room just to get the breakfast. Overall great hotel, especially for a gaming event.
Beautiful view of Detroit..could even see Ambassador Bridge at night! Booked on a website at very affordable rate for immaculate room. No deposit neither. Very PROFESSIONAL staff. Lovely lobby. Love the white leather modernized furniture and watching glass elevator as you look below. No extra fee for 12th floor. I loved it! Nothing bad to say! Will come again!
Its okay, huge hotel but not too many people. The door was jacked up and the doors of the bathroom as of someone tried to break in, and the extra locking mechanism barely worked on the door. The extra blankets were dirty, it took about 20 minutes for someone to bring us a dirty blanket. :/
I discourage anyone from making a reservation at this place. It is definitely not worth your money. The rooms were disgusting. We changed rooms twice and they were both disgusting; wrinkly sheets, stained carpets, and dirty bathrooms. If you need to book a place in this area, try the Best Western. It is so much better and close by.
Very clean. Great value. Aging but well maintained. Bathrooms need renovations but are very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Rooms a little bigger than avg. Good size tv - lots of channels. Free parking. Right beside shopping mall. Highly recommended if you arent picky on completely modern hotel.
I attended a work meeting/conference in one of the ball rooms. The whole place seemed very fancy and clean. The drive there from I-94 wasnt the easiest, but Google maps gets you there with several turns. There wasnt anything spectacular about the ball room we were in, but the hallways/lobby area were nice. Its the kind of place where I would expect to see all of the employees to have ties and a suit jacket.
Ive worked with Richard Hazem and Sherrie Daniels on a few projects for the hotel and have rave reviews about both of them. Super friendly people and very easy and fun to work with. We even completed our project ahead of schedule with their help. Great hotel and staff!
I attended a 3rd party staff meeting at this facility. I did not stay in the hotel rooms durring this visit, thus no opinion of hospitality services at this time.Didnt encounter any guest services staff during my visit, for the few hours I was there, but the meeting took place during non peak hours. One small negative, is despite arranging our meeting several weeks in advance, current management was not aware our meeting was sceduled that day.In their defense, facility is under new management as of the last month and we had not rented space for this meeting (but the meeting was for planning a large event taking place soon where the faculty id being rented for a substantial fee), so there is still potential for improvement.
Horrible place. I have stayed there two weekends in total, a year in between, and frankly hoped for change (there wasn’t). i’ve gotten sick there each stay, the walls were falling apart, there was something that looked like blood on the walls, there were issues with the sinks along with toilets and tubs. the water there each year was yellow/brown. Absolutely disgusting
Thank you so much for cancelling the show. I was really dreading having a great time at the Midwest Media Expo. You saved my life, preventing irreversible laughter, and rib-splitting good times. I will surely recommend your establishment to anyone looking to reschedule an event at the last minute, losing valuable time in choosing your place of business. The only thing I couldve asked for to be better was experiencing the Convention. You definitely have this business figured out. I look forward to seeing the future your company will face with the incredibly competent staff and upper management that make these wonderful decisions.
It was a really beautiful hotel inside and out and was nice and quiet. Dont know if we were there during the off season or what tho cause there was nobody there. Only a 4 star tho cause the air conditioner either didnt work or took for ever to cool down and was a little too hit at least for me to sleep in.
2017After getting hired as the IT Manager then let go on my 90th day I was the only IT tech for the 2nd largest hotel in MI. Funny to have the manager title. I was honored but also saw shady practices. Sad to see employees that were there from 1976 loose their jobs as well.*Update 2019Since my first review the place has been shut down by the city. Lots of great things were trying to be done by the staff, the owner didnt want to spend. To bad. Need a great hotel to stay by here!? Go to The Henry Hotel
The reason why I gave this hotel 1 star was the way the staff and the manager named Tryena have treated me and my family. We attended a weekend conference that was taking place at this hotel and we were a family of 6 individuals.I ended up booking two separate rooms, each room having two double beds. On their website it says that this type of bed can occupy four people. We had only three people in each bed. After we checked in and went up to the rooms, I noticed that the hotel charged me for 1 room the regular price and the second room they charged me 68$ more. I ended up going to front desk and spoke to the staff, they said they couldn’t assist me and that I had to talk to Tryena. Such a big mistake, Tryena was very rude and does not want to listen to anything I had to say. I showed her my papers and the charges. She just said nope I won’t give u the money back. After getting back home I called her twice and first time she started to yell at me and ended the call while I was still speaking to her. Second time I called, she stated “you were three people in the room, the room takes only two” that is. Or correct. We were in a room that occupies four people! She told me that I was at fault and that I should I read the paper before giving my credit card! And she said that she will not return the price difference . I asked to speak to someone else and she ended the call again. Why in the world would you have a rude manager that knows nothing about listening ? Honestly, this manager is by far the rudest human I have ever encountered! Very sad!!
Hotel decided to charge my personal card I gave for incidentals for the entire stay instead of the company credit card that the reservations were made on. When I asked them to switch it over, they said the reservation credit card number was never stored so they couldnt charge that card. I have been to several different hotels and this was the work billing experience ever,, do not risk it if you are on a business trip
The check in speed was not great. We got there at 10:30pm and didnt get to our room until 11:50pm and room service stopped at 12am so we waited so long to check in since there was only one person on duty on a Saturday. Another lady walked in the back and we all thought she was going to assist the person that was on duty but she never came out the back. There was more then 10 people waiting to check in.The Room was outdated. Everything was wood and looked old.The cable was barely working and not staying connected to direct TV. When we tried to watch a movie on our laptop the wifi signal kept dropping. I tried to use the wifi on my phone and it kept doing the same thing. The wifi signal is not strong enough for that whole building. Also the pillows were so soft and no comfort to my neck.At checkout they didnt ask how my stay was, she asked for the key and said have a great day you are all set.Pros:-Across the street from the mall-Nice View- Room Service
Average hotel trying to pass itself off as elegant and first-class, which it definitely is not. Theres a sign for valet service, but not valet available when we arrived - no one to help with luggage, etc. Very short-staffed, but had almost no guests. Had stayed here several times when it was old Hyatt and got deals on Priceline for $55-65, which is about what a place like this should cost. Did not realize this was same place, and paid over $100/night. Very disappointed when we arrived. Scratched furniture, worn and torn carpet, stains on walls. At breakfast buffet, there was a sign saying they would seat guests, but we had to wait awhile for someone to come to the hostess desk although it was after 9:30. Got two free tickets for breakfast buffet, third was going to cost us $20, so I didnt eat because there was not much variety and coffee was cold. Definitely not worth $20. This place definitely needs work and lower prices! Good thing about it is that its close to a mall and some great middle eastern restaurants in Dearborn.
This place looks nice on the outside, with its unique shape and the blue lights at night, but the reason why it got shut down recently is because of the inside. A lot of code violations. And heres one of them. I am an elevator enthusiast and it was sad always seeing at least one elevator not working every time I came. There are 5 elevators and one time there was only TWO out of 5 working. Poor maintenance!! Thats why there are complaints of people having to wait 5 or more minutes for an elevator to arrive. The elevator to the left of the middle one i called the massage-o-vator because would be shaking the whole ride and while i was laughing my head off at the same time its sad. You may hear of elevator companies with great equipment but if ANY elevator is not properly maintained it can stop working. Hopefully while this place is closed for renovations they do something with the elevators and fix them up and I hope the hotel opens again :)
Maybe it was the hotel in 70s or 80s but today it has been !Dirty in the room, dirty in the swimming pool and jacuzzi. The last level, the 16th level is fantastic area you could see to 360° and it turn slowly to see the country and even Canada. But it is working only few time in the year.So this hotel is sold i hope the new owner will be more intelligente and clean.Only the people who work in this hotel are the best of this area.
Awesome views. Awesome rooms. Clean. Updated. Outside of the room is SUPER nice. For the price this place is awesome. Wasnt expecting such a nice place. Lots of facilities and services. Zero complaints. Neighborhood and parking is perfect. Lots of restaurants and entertainment close by.
The staff is not aware of anything going on in the hotel. The clerk at the front desk kept referring me to the wrong event. Theres wallpaper torn off the walls on every floor, they dont clean up the room service trays. Overall the hotel is not worth paying 200+ a night.
I recently stayed at this hotel this place was a nightmare in every way rooms had stains all over the floor and a hole going outside and stuff all over the walls called down to see if maybe they sent us to the wrong room. Front desk was very rude and said yep that’s what are rooms look like trust me not worth 50 dollars a night even and don’t be in a hurry because two of there five elevators work this is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at .... don’t stay here spend a little extra at least you won’t havr to stay in this dirty over priced hotel I have pictures of the hole going outside and there nasty hot tube that didn’t work but it will not allowed them to be posted .
Hotel sucks its horrible the service is speedy but that doesnt make up for the quality of the amenities. If it werent for my daughters dance competition I wouldnt be here ever. Everything is old in the room bed shower head carpet window treatments toilet thin towels. Its really pathetic.
I made a reservation for 4 nights but then after my first night I could not stand it so I changed it to one night only.I dont recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were so small the bathroom was so tiny. The rooms were so close to each other so you could hear what your neighbors in the other room were talking about. The bed was making loud noise when sleeping on it.
It comes with a heavy heart that I have to write a review so horrible for a hotel Ive had such fond memories of in the past. Somehow in just a years time, one of the most impressive hotels I have ever stayed at has turned into something to rival a cheap motel in terms of cleanliness. What once felt like a welcoming, understanding, home-away-from-home kind of facility and stafg has become what I can only describe as a group that is as difficult to deal with as the TSA. The fact that I stayed in what is considered one of the more expensive rooms and had this problem has me very concerned for anyone who decides to stay in the cheaper ones.Whatever happened when the name changed from the Royal to the Edwards has left a decrease of quality without a decrease in expense. Whoever this new management is in command now has thought about lowering costs before increasing customer satisfaction.I will never stay here again.
My experience was positive. This is a good place. While there, I had an opportunity to interact with staff in several areas. I am convinced that they are undertaking an agressive effort to go from good to great on a property wide basis. With the attitudes I observed, they will be successful.
11/5/2017: 1 Star. Came back from a long day out to see no house cleaning was done in the room today. Beds not made, no clean bath linens, no coffee restock. Called front desk to find out why, of course they dont know and no manager on duty -- seriously, what major hotel/convention center doesnt have a manager on duty!! Totally disappointed!!!! p.s. the hot tub doesnt work either.11/6/2017: 4 Star - hotel gave us free breakfast at Giuio & Sons, only charged us for 1 night stay, and free coffee at the Brew Coffee shop. Restaurant food was exceptional, especially Renee (give her a raise) as well as the food. Thank you!
I travel a lot for work and any $60/night motel will easily beat this place.Allow me to walk you through the experience:So you finally drive up and see this shining beacon of a hotel in front of you and it seems like you just found Emerald City. Your next experience will be navigating the labyrinth of inner roads in search of a parking spot. Its got it all: a system of one-way windy roads whos single-lane direction is always ambiguous so you never lose that special feeling of going the wrong way down a one way road.Once you drive around enough to assess just what the parking situation is, it dawns on you: There is no good parking spot. The designers have taken pains to line a football field sized radius with the closest spots, ensuring that wherever you park, youre always at least 100 yards from the entrance. Better yet, the trek from car to entrance follows said labyrinth, with hills and trees conveniently placed where there arent roads. As you walk up to the front door, you take notice of another feature. The architecture of the entire hotel is laid out as a giant quarter arc with the entrance at its focus. It is an awesome sight, and perfect for funneling high-speed winds into your face as you move toward the entrance. Come visit during winter, when the hotel transforms moist 15F air into hypothermia-inducing -30F windchill. You love your 100 yard walk.As you enter the building, you feel as though youve entered a high-end mall. The warmth that hits you sends waves of euphoria throughout your body as it readjusts to normalcy. Theres a coffee shop and gift store thats never open. What you dont see is a check-in desk. To check in, youll be glad to know that its just a hop, skip and a jump 200 feet to your left and hidden around a corner. There youll be lucky to find anyone at all.Once you find someone to check you in, its off to one of five elevators to take you up to the fourteenth floor. As you look around, there isnt a button in sight. None of the doors have a button to push.At long last, another guest feels your confusion and comes to your aid. Alas, the buttons are precariously positioned on a stand off to the side, right where youd expect them. You would feel embarrassed at this oversight, but the fellow guest is there to reassure you that theyve been just as confused. The elevator ride up is awe-inspiring. The cars are glass-walled, allowing you to watch your entire ascent. This is the best part of the hotel. Now inside the room, you realize just how small a hotel room can be. There is a desk and complimentary WIFI, much like other bargain brand hotels. The bed is hard and without fitted sheets, for your comfort, obviously.Additionally, theyve taken pains to provide their guests without common luxuries, such as laundry services. Where can I do my laundry? At the closest laundry mat, Im told. Convenient! Helpful!A cursory inspection of the room guide/booklet reveals that there isnt a room guide/booklet. In its stead is a single trifold 8x11 printed paper with a room service menu and a few numbers. Informative! It goes without saying, the next time I plan on overpaying for a hotel, itll be elsewhere.
Omg, such a beautiful place. I was amazed by the service. When I entered the lobby, I was immediately greeted, they took my bags and walked me over to check in. Now when I got into the room it was a little small, 180$ a night....the room should have been a little more roomier.
Owners change every few years. There halls are not on the level they should be. The food is bad. One of the weddings i attended, was so bad to the point of the groom was goong to fight the management. We caught a male staff member spying on the women only section of the hall. We saw servers picking up food from other tabels and reserving them to other guests. After 9:30 we could not get one single staff member to service us.
Was here for a work trip and they “gave away my room” when I checked in at 9:30pm following a customer event.I was told they could put me up in the parlor of a suite with a Murphy bed. No.Turns out their computers went down and nobody wanted to admit culpability or assist with relocating me to a different hotel after giving away my room.Awful, will not return.
Really nice hotel. Clean rooms. Super close to Henry Ford museum. Got a deal on Price line and ended up here. Rooms are well decorated and have large flat screen TVs. Food prices are high ($5 for a bottle of water!) and free room coffee isnt drinkable. That keeps Adoba from 5 stars. Otherwise it is a nice hotel.
A one star is too much for this place. Staff were nice, once you pass the lodge, it’s sooooo getto, it’s definitely not a family place, me and my wife felt like we were in a club. Everyone was annoying and loud. The rooms were unfit for human, it was dirty and disgusting. I would recommend “best western” that place is not far away but worth every dollar.
We stayed on the 5th floor. I checked the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth floor vending machines looking for a bottle of water. No luck; half sold out and half not in operation. Went all the way back down to the lobby to pay $3.49 for a bottle of water. Better yet, the walls are so thin that when our neighbors started having sex at 8 am in the room next to us the sound was so clear I felt like I was a part of the action myself. Id advise looking somewhere else...
I reserved the room for a three day business trip. After checking in, I made three trips to my car because there were no carts available. Then, I had to wait ten minutes for an elevator because the hotel was over run with screaming children playing elevator tag. The screaming and running in the halls continued well past eleven even after calling the front desk. I requested a refrigerator for my meals that I packed for the week. The refrigerator froze all of my food, and I had to throw half of it into the trash. I checked out the next day and moved to another hotel in the area.
Me and two of my peers made reservations to stay at the Adoba in September 13 and I ended up with staying there for two nights before switching to a different hotel in Dearborn. Actually we all did. One of us had a problem with the heater, my shower was not working properly (the water pressure was very low when it is hot!) and one of us had a problem with his AC unit not working. The TV was not facing the bed and it was an old tube TV. They are charging 100$/night but cant afford to spend 250$ for a flat screen TV. The internet speed was horrible. I would not waste a minute with Adoba if I were you. Yes I agree that the hotel looks decent from outside but unfortunately what matters the most is what we all saw inside. Stay clear
This hotel is conveniently close to all attractions in the Detroit area and has spectacular views! If you are looking for great service and a full service hotel you found it. The staff is great and super helpful from bell service to the restaurant staff. Did I mention restaurant. Yes! They have a fabulous restaurant with healthy organic options. You will love it. Hands down the best hotel in the surrounding area. Check it out!
Would have been 5 star, but when I got to my room someone beat me to it and the staff had no idea why. They quickly rectified the problem but for a perfect score, flawless is the only acceptable option. Breakfast was excellent, turndown service was transparent, and staff was helpful. Definitely going to stay when Im in Dearborn again.
This is like entering a dystopian, post apocalyptic hotel that was once upon a long time a go a large, busting, business class Hyatt. That must have been more than 20 years ago. Maybe 30. It was empty, dirty, barren of any activity when we entered at 5 pm on weekday. The room was smelly, dank. The place felt unsafe. Spooky. We left despite non refundable prepay on Expedia. The rates are rock bottom for a reason. Any chain motel would be better.
I usually do not write reviews, but my experience was so bad that I feel the need to warn people!I stayed at this hotel for a conference in October for a couple of days on a work related trip. I mistakenly left my jacket and keys in the closet of the room and called the hotel the next day after checking out. I was told at first that it was not located. I asked if they would please check the closet as I recall leaving it and they came back and said they did find the jacket with the keys! I was very pleased and asked about getting it returned that is when everything went wrong. It is now mid-November and even with call after call and transfers to other managers I still dont have my property. I am losing hope of getting it returned. Whenever I call the hotel I am told that someone will return my call and nobody does. I call again and one manager refers me to another. I even provided an account number for FedEx to have the items mailed to me and the person seem to have taken it down and I was told it would be mailed. There is no way that it was mailed because it would of arrived by now via FedEx. By far the worse customer service. I dealt primarily with a manager named Trina who refused to get involved because it was not her area and another manager she constantly referred me to named Lynn Ingram. If you stay at this hotel make sure you dont leave anything behind or need any kind of assistance because you will treated very poorly.
Filthy rooms and very Basic rooms. The common areas look really nice, but the rooms are dirty, even after requesting maid service to clean again because there was garbage and food left under chairs, it was still not vacuumed and cleaned. Ive stayed there 3 years for dance conventions and have to stay there again soon. Gross!
Do not stay here! It was awful. Run down. Wall paper peeling everywhere. Water stains all over. Just a dirty dirty hotel. Terrible! They should be ashamed of how much they charge you to stay at this run down hotel . only got a star bcuz it wouldnt let me post without it. This hotel should be shut down.
They have the smallest rooms I have ever seen the Valet was up.and working but there was only two guys doing the work or at least that I saw. The beds are twin sizes I had family staying and two people had to sleep on the floor and that was a standard double. The bathrooms are nice but doesnt have enough towels for a family. The air doeant work so you have to stay put and the Bathrooms have mold on the ceiling.
Stayed at this hotel with 25 other people and the staff was the most disrespectful people I’ve ever met, they were not accommodating at all, none of the vending machines or ice machines worked, they gave us extra charges, the air conditioning didn’t work in any of our rooms, and the floor was not swept at all. 10/10 not recommend.
Hotel and room nice. Bell hops were extremely rude, basically asking my adult kids if they knew what a Bell hop was, and that they get TIPS.. That was when they wouldnt go to our room with a cart so we had to carry everything down 9 floors. My son tipped 2 bellhops yesterday...$4 and $5. Wont recommend because of that.
Don’t book it. Estimate 5 rooms booked. No telephone service, restaurants and bar closed. No valet or employees except one young lady at the front desk. A total ghost building. Paid $200 for 1 nite there. Sadly a waste of my money. What a disappointment. Don’t book it: go somewhere else.
Edit: 4/13I was able to get a hold of Bronda, the hotel manager, who agreed to refund the mistakenly charged funds.First, a few points on the hotel itself.1. The rooms are somewhat dated and basic, but appeared clean and the beds were comfortable.2. It is a huge building, and if your room is at the further end of one of the floors, be prepared for a relatively lengthy walk to/from the central (and only) bank of elevators.3. The Edward Hotel fails where many hotels who market themselves as business hotels also fail: miserable in-room WiFi reception. In fact, there seemed to be deadspots all throughout the floor that we stayed on. We ended up doing work in the cafe downstairs, one place where WiFi reception was very good.4. The location is convenient, as there are restaurants all around the perimeter of the shopping mall where the hotel is based. Easy access to Telegraph Road and the Southfield Freeway. My issue is with the their billing. Ive given the hotel a month to resolve a billing error on their part. The error remains open, and now in fact Edward Hotel is disputing the validity of the error, in fact accusing me of staying an extra two nights for which they tried to bill me when in fact I only stayed for one night (3/7/17) for a convention that took place on site.-I booked and paid for my one night stay through Expedia, and discovered on 3/13 that the hotel itself billed for an additional $286.58 and also did not refund my security deposit.-I called and spoke to Felicia (accounting) and Bronda (manager) on two separate occasions on 3/13 to question the charge. Felicia was discourteous and unhelpful, and Bronda advised me that this appeared to be a simple accounting error and that it would be resolved in 7-10 business days.-When it was not resolved, I opened the dispute with my credit card company American Express.-Apparently Amex reached out to Edward Hotel for resolution, and Edward Hotel Accounting staff Belinda advised Amex that I did in fact stay two additional nights, when in actuality I checked out the morning of the convention (3/8/18), and drove back to my home in Chicago that same day.-Bronda is never available to take my phone calls (per the front desk), calls to Belinda in billing go to voicemail, and I have had to re-open my dispute with American Express all because this hotel is fraudulently trying to bill me.It is amazing that today, there are still establishments like think this is a proper way to conduct business. Especially those in the hospitality industry, and ESPECIALLY those in the hospitality industry in a market as competitive as that around Dearborn and the greater Detroit area. Take the advice of others who have stayed here, and avoid the temptation to stay at this hotel for a cheap rate.
Shabby room, unclean bathroom , broken coffee mug , no instruction on how to reach front desk using room phone . Really Bad Wifi and on informing they said Wifi is weak or Bad because its complimentary and people use so they cant help it. So stay away if you are planning to work from hotel. Not worth the money you pay at all. Stay away if you can. And you dont get the room you book for in advance. So whats the purpose of booking the hotel in advance.
This hotels needs alot of updating in the rooms! The entrance elevator & pool areas looks grand but soon as u get off the elevator its not so pretty. As we 1st entered the room 657 looks as if red lipstick or something was smeared on the door & upon entering the door was difficult to open..There was also hair on the sink & on the floor by the bath tub & throw those shower curtains away they really need to step it up especially being right next to the Henry!
I came here for the Tau Beta Pi regional convention. The building has great bones and cuts a striking silhouette from the street. Unfortunately, the decor in the rooms is still straight out of the year 1997 - it reminds me of my grandmothers house back in the day - and its awkwardly placed across a 0.75-mile parking lot from the saddest mall Ive ever visited.
Laura at the coffee bar was very abrasive and disrespectful. She gave my friend an earful (in front of numerous potential customers) for having second thoughts over buying a bottle of water. There were yellow stains on one of the comforters of the beds in our room, and the hotel staff didnt bother to salt or plow their parking lot more than once (during a near three-day snowfall), resulting in many stuck cars and guests tripping. Mediocre at best, especially for nearly $200 a night.
This hotel took a reservation of ours through Priceline, and when we showed up with our Trip Itinerary they told us they made a mistake and had no rooms. They literally put my wife and I out on the street due to their error. They offered nothing to remedy the situation. The management staff doesnt care about your livelihood. I would have expected at least some form of accommodation after dealing with their own failure.
So here is my story with the Adoba. My friends and I made a reservation to stay here for one night during the Detroit auto show (which is why we were coming to Detroit from the Cleveland area.) We had reserved this room way in advance in order to secure it, In advance I mean in Oct. and the show was in January. We did this because we wanted to treat ourselves and stay in the Presidential Suite, which there is only one, Obviously the most expensive/largest room in the hotel. When I made the reservation, I made sure on the phone that we would be able to check in due to only being 18/19 years old. We were told we would have no problem. The minimum check in age was 18. After the long wait the weekend of the auto show finally comes around and we made the 3 hour trip over to Detroit + Adoba hotel. Pumped to be in this great suite for the night I walk in and try to check in, when I was informed that they had a policy change (now 21 years old to check in) as of (One person said Nov. 1st, one said Jan 1st, so I really dont know which one it was) but regardless of that my reservation was made before either one of these dates. Once informed on the policy change at check in, they pretty much said (I quote this conversation between me and the manager) Our new policy is very strict, we cant make any exceptions. So youre just going kick me out and not honor my reservation even though I made it before the policy change? Yep, theres nothing we can do for you. In a rage, I picked up my phone called my parents and they offered to fax over signatures, insurance, credit cards (Even though I had a valid BLACK CARD with me, with my name and everything on it) or anything else the hotel could request. The manager simply said no and then had a interview to do so walked away and left us in the lobby. After A little disagreement, I had to tell them I wouldnt pay cancellation fees. Plus my parents called to talk to the manager the second we ended up leaving, and she magically was tied up for the rest of the day and never returned there calls. After all, I left the hotel and went downtown to the Marriott GM Tower where they were happy to give me a suite and accomadate me friends and I.. Will never go back to the Adoba, my Dad said he will never said any clients there again when in Detroit for business, and i will personally tell people never to stay at the Adoba due to terrible managment. They alreayd almost went bankrupt once, you would think they need the money and have better service... Guess not!
WiFi didnt work. Pool was closed. Direct TV signal kept fading in and out. And tall skinny dark skinned lady with long straight black hair ( had to describe her because no one wears name tags, and now I know why.) laughed at me after receiving refund at 9:30 at night 9/17/16. Never again.
I was at the conference center here for my sons PSAT state required academic testing. The hotel is a beautiful building on the inside... but a bit of an eyesore on the outside... but thats just my opinion and should not influence anyones decision to stay here... it really is a beautiful facility.
We called and asked if we could check in at midnight on Saturday the 23rd and check out Sunday the 24th 2 staff members both told us it wouldnt be a problem. So in the afternoon on Saturday we left and didnt come back until about 7 or 8 at night. Once we came back we went to our room and tried to use our key cards to get into the room and they didnt work so we went all the way back downstairs to find out what the problem was. Once downstairs a staff member told us that it said in the system we were supposed to check out that day so she said she fixed the problem and she was gonna send the security guard to unlock our room once upstairs we waited and waited and waited and nobody came so my boyfriend had to go back downstairs and tell her no one came and she tells him let me just get you new cards. Finally after all of that the next day we go to check out on Sunday and once we left my bf went to check his card and it said they charged us twice for the room so he went back in and they tried to say that you cant check in until 3pm or it counts as another day which no one informed us of that at all so they told us wed have to wait until Monday to get ahold of a manager so my boyfriend called all day yesterday to try to speak to a manager but he/she never answered his Calls wont ever be coming back here
When we checked in we had one set of towels for 4 people and no hot water, they gave us another room that room had no hot water and the heater was broken and ran all night we woke up and it was 86 degrees, they gave us a free breakfast!! Still haven’t spoken to a manager!! Terrible experience!! $330 wasted!! Very disappointed
My daughter and her friends stated at this hotel for the Midwest Media Convention and the staff was extremely rude. One of her friends items was broken by the staff that at first they said they would cover and now that their mom has gotten involved they are claiming it was not their fault, BUT my main issue is the female staff member that said to my daughter look at the A.. on that one This is a form of sexual harassment and when her friends mom brought it up to the person she was talking to she was told that they are not responsible for their staff....REALLY? We have been to several cons in Michigan and have never came across such a rude and disrespectful staff and hopefully Midwest Media will think twice about using this hotel and convention center next year.
I had to wait 40 minutes in line at the front desk to check in at 1:00 AM. They had just one person at the front desk helping customers. The other people behind the front desk walked in an out of the office as though they had to attend to more important business than helping the 50 people in line. Dont be confused. Hyatt has left the building!
The hotel was taken over by Adoba in November, they are a Green chain of hotels (Recycled products), this was a Hyatt hotel before. The Inside and layout is really nice, the rooms need to be updated, (painted and new carpet, flat panel TVs) but this will take some time.I found the hotel to be worth the Stay. (July 2013).
Im posting this on my phone because the free wifi is still loading. If you need to use the internet here I recommend bringing a dial up modem to speed things along. Lots of gnats in the restaurant and bar, thermostat in the room doesnt work. The only redeeming quality is that the staff seems friendly.

2018-08-03We stayed here as we were attending a conference. The lobby and conference facilities are quite good But the rooms and service leave alot to be desired. Our first room hadnt been cleaned prior to being assigned to us. I went back to the lobby and was assigned another room. The decor and condition felt like an 80s motel. Housekeeping had to be called multiple times and was mostly focused on a new set of towels.Personally I would stay at a different hotel the next time around even if this happens to be the conference location. On a separate note, I stayed here 5 years ago and the hotel was in much better condition. It has significantly deteriorated since then.

2019-03-23I stayed here for a week about six months ago. Hotel was really new and staff was really laid back and nice. My first room was never cleaned after last person and staff was quick to rectify by relocating to a cleaned unit. Bed was supper comfortable and the internet was actually usable unlike many hotels. Plenty of food places nearby. I would definitely go back.

2018-09-27This hotel was acceptable but I cannot recommend it if other options are available in the area. When I stayed, it felt like I was in a ghost town. 780 rooms and maybe 30-40 were occupied. Even with this high vacancy, The first room I was given was already occupied!! The hotel definitely needs a remodel. You can tell this was once a great hotel, but not anymore. Wall paper is falling down everywhere, and the carpet is dirty. The room was generally clean and functional, but not great. When I checked out on the second day, the coffee shop was closed as the person who runs it just did not show up, no explanation given.

2017-10-15I really loved this hotel. It felt upscale, I loved the interior of the hotel and the facilities themselves. I saw that the rooms are in the process of being renovated, which would definitely be nice. Dont get me wrong, the rooms were nice. My only discontent was with the generic coffee and condiment packets in the rooms -- I would have expected better with the quality of the rest of the hotel. We spent time in Archimedes Bar and ate dinner one evening at Giulio and Sons. Both were wonderful experiences, with fantastic service and inviting ambience. We would definitely stay here again, without a doubt!

2018-09-30Had I known this hotel was everything the pictures online painted it to be, I would never had stayed here, the 1 night I stayed no microwave, heat or air conditioning was not working. You can tell this was once a great hotel, but not anymore. Wall paper is falling down everywhere, the carpet is dirty, and duct tape on the floor. The room was generally clean and functional, but not great. Poor internet connectivity, sauna ,spa and gym closed. Lots of torn wall paper in hallways, duct tape and stains on the floor.

2018-07-02Location is in the midst of a renovation so was very distressed. We had to move to get to access to the Internet. Place was almost empty. No bellman , no luggage carts. Steven (spelling?) showed us multiple rooms that better fit our needs. He did an excellent job considering the circumstances. We liked the upper level room with two beds. The site is very large so expect to walk a lot if not near an elevator.

2019-03-11Hot tub, gym, and spa were all closed and appeared to have been closed for some time. Pool was open but extremely cold, kids didnt even want to swim in the pool. Room was very clean, staff was friendly and courteous. We had to ask for a roll a way bed and within 10 minutes of being back in our room they had a staff member deliver one.

2018-05-20Although it has the potential to be a nice hotel it needs work. It doesnt look like theyve done much in way of renovation since it was bought from the Hyatt in 2008. The pool was down or so they said, we were promised a fridge and microwave and then were told that the electric is not suitable for a microwave in the rooms. The food is way too expensive. All in all Ive stayed in hotels for a third the price and had a better experience.

2016-06-10This place looks like a grand hotel. Driving up we were greeted and our bags were loaded up to be taken to our room. Inside, it looks stunning but very quiet. As we made our way to the room, I noticed the carpet in the hallway. It was old, torn and gross. Our room door was hard to open but once we got it open, it was a gross stale smell that hit me. The bathroom layout was horrible. Not even clean. Tub was stained, as was the toilet and both sinks. Toilet didnt flush well, the faucets on the sink were horrible. I thought they would break. The carpet in the room didnt seemed vacuumed at all. The beds were uncomfortable. I just hated this place. For $80 a night, it was worth it. Wish I read the reviews before booking.
