Christian came to our house late at night. He was super professional and explained in detail the causes of our furnace problems. He was able to repair the furnace on the spot and got our heat up and running right away. Appreciated his positive and friendly attitude, and professional knowledge!
Their technician, Brent was very professional and identified the issue quickly, and performed great service. He communicated the next steps and his team checked my system’s warranty status and contacted me swiftly. Their administrative staff, Maria and Becky, were also great, explaining the best option for me as a customer. They even found me another contractor for my unit as they noticed that the repair should be done under manufacturer’s warranty and only manufacturer’s official dealer could file warranty process. I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking for a great services.
Brent was professional and very nice. Each time I have Ehlers out for repairs or seasonal maintenance they never pressure me to purchase a new furnace even though ours is 30 years old. They keep it repaired and I appreciate that effort and when the time comes this is the company I will use for a new HVAC.
Kris is one of the best technicians I ever met, both through my working career and also as a homeowner. He is very knowledgeable, courteous, professional, and above all treats the issues as his own issues, this unique characters are hardly seen these days.I had contacted several firms, and even had one come out to diagnose the issue, but decided not to go with them due to an outrageous quote. I had conversations with Becky at Ehlers, and felt her honesty and sincerity, therefore decided to have someone from Ehlers to have another look. Then I had Kris, and am very pleased with his service.I must say Ehlers must be a well-run company, and please keep providing excellent services to your customers.I highly recommend anyone who has an A/C issue contact Ehlers to have it fixed.
5-24-22 - Steve arrived on time and was very thorough on checking out my AC for the summer. I always have quite a few questions and he was very patient. He did a great job of explaining the equipment he was using and the readout of the numbers and what they meant. Ive dealt with Ehlers Heating and Air Conditionong for a long time and met many of their technicians. He seems to be a good fit! 👍👍👍
Kristian was the service tech that came out to help me today. He was really professional, helped me understand what the problem was and demonstrated he knew what he was doing. I was really impressed and would recommend these guys to anyone. I know who I’ll stick with anytime I have an HVAC need in the future.
We had an issue with our furnace mid afternoon, in the middle of the bitter cold Michigan winter. I called another company and they couldnt make it out until the following day. Matt with Ehlers came out that night. He found a quick holdover to keep our heat in the house going until the part came in that needed to be replaced on the furnace. He came back to replace the part and now everything is functioning properly again. The whole time, Matt was extremely professional and timely. And the people in the office were very informative and helpful. Highly recommend!
We had a few other estimates but really liked how thoroughly the sales person evaluated our home. He explained things so that we could understand them. We ended up replacing both Furnace and AC and they were able to schedule it quickly and convenient for me. The service team was punctual, professional and friendly. They addressed all our concerns and really made sure everything was working at its best for us. We are very happy with the while experience and would highly recommend them. They even took the time to say goodbye to my littlest child who had befriended them, before they left.
We have dealt with Ehlers for 20 plus years. We recently had a new furnace installed. We were impressed by the professionalism of the entire process. From the salesman Eric to the installation by Dave and Rob it was handled in an efficient manner. Steve Kaczmarek set a new high water mark for professional behavior and what was by far the most complete and thorough assessment of my system throughout all the years Ehlers has been in charge. Thanks to Steves clarity, informing me of his activities, I enjoyed the good fortune to clarify several matters that had me guessing for years. Steve deserves the highest praise for his openness to hearing my questions as well as for his precision and competence in providing answers.Let me add that the routine has been augmented by Ehlers with an email introduction including name and picture of the individual who will be arriving to perform the service. This adds a great deal to my personal comfort in recognizing and greeting the service technician by name.
I dont normally post reviews but wanted to acknowledge the great job that they did. Was Ehlers the cheapest option for the job....no they were not but we are willing to pay a little extra for quality and that is what we got.Eric from their sales team took the time to explain our options, the pros and cons as well as educated us on refunds that were available as well as financing options. We appreciated the lack of high pressure sales tactics that other organizations utilized.David and his partner did a excellent job. Seeing the quality work that they did and the pride they took in doing the job right makes me confident that we will have many years of hassle-free operations from our new furnace and air conditioner. They showed up on time, did what they said they were going to do and took the time to thoroughly answer our questions and educated us on how to maximize the value of our new equipment.
Every experience with Ehlers has been professional, accommodating, and highly satisfactory. They have serviced our AC unit and when our furnace went out they were available within a few hours to fix it. They were very helpful and proficient both times. Highly recommend.
I have been an Ehlers customer for a number of years. I have always been very impressed with this team. They are prompt, knowledgeable, and honest and their communication is excellent. I recently scheduled a maintenance for my Central Air. David arrived on time and was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained what he was doing and showed me a potential future issue.When my old Furnace and AC unit finally give up the ghost, Ehlers will get my business.
We purchased a new Carrier HVAC system from Ehlers a couple years ago. We probably paid too much, but the quality of the system is exceptional and we are happy with the maintenance program which costs about the same as competitors. We had a circuit board go bad on the whole home air purifier we also purchased for our HVAC system and our service tech, Matt, just came out and quickly replaced the warranty part. Ehlers charged a flat rate for the labor, which was higher than I expected it to be, but I didnt have a choice about paying it if I wanted the warranty repair to be done. The only comment I could make about this is that it would be nice if the warranty labor charged was for the actual time it took to do the job, which in our case was less than 15 minutes. In more difficult cases, it could probably take a lot more time, but the amount we were charged for a 15 minute repair seemed too high. That being said, Im happy the part replacement has been done and am confident that Matt did a great job with the install.
We moved into our home 5 years ago and have not had maintenance performed on the furnace. Ehlers sticker was on the furnace so I called them first. Very polite over the phone and set me up with an appointment. The technician that came out to our home was very polite and professional. He looked everything over, cleaned a few things, basically made sure that everything is running as it should. Very knowledgeable, I told him about two intermittent error codes we had near the end of the season last year and he knew what the codes were. When he was done he gave me full detail of everything he had just checked, adjusted, cleaned etc. He answered all of my questions without issue. I will continue to use Ehlers in the future and highly recommend them.
The service was excellent from the first phone call to the end of the install. Eric came out for the evaluation and quote for new furnace/ac/thermostat (mine were over 30yra old). He explained alot about my system, and its old efficiency rating, and thoroughly looked at all the area that would need upgrades for new HVAC. He did not try to over sell me and made very appropriate recommendations ( I had a previous person come out and did not feel comfortable with thier pressure).They scheduled for a 2 day install, but that was what was needed due to a complete upgrade to high efficiency system. They were able to schedule something for 2 wks out.The installer Jake and his partner were awesome. They arrived exactly on time and ready to go. The first day, the furnace was in and was operation. Jake explained he didnt want to leave me w/o heat incase we had a cold night.(very thoughtful). The second day they finished the AC and even were able to find a solution an unexpected obstruction in the chimney they discovered as they were putting in the liner.Jake provided a great tutorial on the use of the wi fi thermostat and even walked me through setting up the app on my phone for remote use. His costumer service was beyond excellent. Not sure what you pay hime but he deserves a raise!!!
Service rep was methodical and offered a clear and understandable explanation to what he was doing - inside and outside the house. Afterwards we discussed future options involving AC components, options and cost. We have used Ehler HVAC for all our HVAC inspections, repairs or replacement needs since the mid 1990’s. I highly recommend Ehler HVAC.
Today, the Ehlers technicians came to my house and installed a new air conditioner and furnace. They were expected at 8 am and were very prompt. I was extremely impressed with these technicians - they were truly professional and very easy to talk to. They cleaned up after the install and then showed me how to do the maintenance.I definitely would recommend the Ehlers company to anyone that asked.
Weve been a customer for a few years now and have always been treated well. They are very good about reminding you about the appointments. We just got a real nice Carrier furnace from them and it works great! Our last furnace was a year 2000 vintage. Stepping up to this furnace has been amazing. Its like getting a new car after driving a 15 year old clunker for a time!Very satisfied with this place.

My primary and secondary heat exchanger went bad. I had two companies before that gave very high estimates. I contacted Carrier and was given this company. There was a warranty which the other two companies failed to let me know. This company is trustworthy, honest, and has very professional workers. I am happy to say I am comfortable and now ready for this winter!!! THANK YOU! Highly recommend!
We purchased a new furnace and ac unit. Salesman was informative and personable. Never did he try to sell us on the bigger or better thing. He laid out all our options that work for our size home and let us choose what we wanted. We were told it will take two days for install. Of coarse we schedule it on a couple of the hottest days of the year. They had it done early on the first day!!! My house was cooling down nicely by the time I got home from work. They left my basement cleaner than when they arrived!
We had Eric out to give us a estimate on a new system, he was very through and explained all options. We decided to go with the Infinity Modulating Furnace and High Efficiency Air Conditioner. The technicians were on time and so polite and careful when moving all that equipment in and out of our home. They did an outstanding job and our home was noticeably more comfortable on the first evening. They all took time to help us set up the programmable thermostat and explained the best settings. We are so happy we made the decision to go with Ehlers Heating and Cooling!
Matt Green was very professional and went about his business as soon as he arrived. Prior to performing his work he explained to me what he was going to do. And afterwards he went over what he had found. Matt was thorough in his work and even changed out all of the filters that needed to be replaced. He even took the old dirty filters with him when he left. I would highly recommend Ehlers Heating & Air Conditioning, along with Matt Green, for any of my HVAC service needs.Matt also returned to our home on an emergency service call because our furnace wasnt working properly. Just like during his maintenance visit he went straight to diagnosing the problem letting me know what he was doing as he proceeded with his work. He was very thorough in his work checking out all the components before determining that the circuit board was not functioning properly. He was apologetic for not being able to correct the problem since he did not carry the needed necessary part. He did follow up with his office to check pricing and availability of the part needed. I would recommend Matt for any of our HVAC service needs.Brent Richardson came out to replace the failed part. He was very professional and performed his work quickly with care. He determined that the part he changed was not the cause of the problem. Through his diagnosis he changed out the inducer motor which corrected the problem. Brent is a capable technician that deserves kudos for his work.Jake Krupa performed HVAC maintenance on my system on July 20, 2021. He called prior to his arrival and went straight to his work. He explained to me the checks that he was performing in such a way that they were understandable. Jake was very personable making it easy to talk to him. Just like my prior experiences, I would recommend Jake and Ehlers Heating & Air Conditioning for any service needed.

I have used Ehlers a few times in the past and I’m always happy with their service. The technicians who come the house are always friendly, patient and knowledgeable. They explain things in easy terms and offer good solutions. They’re not the least expensive guys in town but I’ll pay a little extra for prompt, courteous and knowledgeable any day. I worked in the home improvement industry for 20 years and have seen the opposite.
Starting with our estimate with Eric to our service technicians Dave and Rob. They are ultimate professionals. We had a new Carrier furnace and AC unit installed and we’re very pleased with the work. We can tell that they take pride in their work down to the smallest detail. They were on time, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. They finished the work in the time that we were told it would be done. Ehlers is a top notch company with top notch technicians. Big plus they are NATE certified and Factory Certified. (Other company that gave us an estimate said they were certified but upon further investigation found out they were not). Glad we didn’t just take their word for it. We highly recommend Ehlers. Money well spent!
Ehlers has been our go to for all our heating and cooling needs for a few years now. They were able to service our outdoor furnace easily and keep it in great condition for us! Yesterday they did a furnace inspection on our old house, and today they installed a humidifier on our new homes furnace! Prices are excellent, technicians are always on time and friendly. And making appointments is easy!
Service Tech. Kory, extremely knowledgeable/professional. Local competitor told us years ago the entire system hvac/air must be replaced. Fast forward 4 yrs later, 2 minor service calls from Ehlers and all working great. Used them to install 2 new systems in other family homes. Highly recommend.
I had such a great experience with Ehlers. Unfortunately, we woke up to no heat and called a few places that were not going to be able to come out to service for at least a week or two. I decided to call Ehlers based on feedback I received from a neighbor. I called them and they were able to come out very quickly. The technician that came out was professional and super accommodating. I would definitely recommend this company again and will continue to do business with them.
Bought AC and Furnace 10 years ago and service always great. Have semi-annual maintenance plan where they check AC in summer and furnace in winter. Super service, good quality and very professional. Steve Kaczmarek completed our maintenance plans and very professional and pleasant.
We have been a long time customer of Ehlers . So several months ago when I wanted to put a gas line to my utility room, I phoned them. I was very surprised at the high price, however, I contracted with them ( without obtaining any other estimates ) because we were regular customers & I had complete faith in them. they were ( as always ) very punctual & reliable.after several months my daughter came to my condo. As soon as she stepped through the door , she was aghast, she insisted there was a strong gas odor. The next day I phoned my gas co. they sent a serviceman immediately . He found a leak in the new line. Needless to say , he shut off my gas & instructed me to call my contractor . I was quite upset at this news. The leak happened to be right in the ceiling of my bedroom . When Ehlers technician came out, he found that the new pipe that they had installed WAS TOO SHORT! so it couldnt be tightened as it should. Nor had there been any plumber putty put on one end of the new line!I waited several days after the repair, expecting Ehlers office to contact me regarding this MISHAP. Since no-one has seen fit to do this, Im posting my experience on this review site. I had be waking up almost every morning with a headache & feeling groggy. Since the repair last week I have no issues on waking.
Steve was very professional and courteous, he answered all my questions and concerns. He talked to me and not at me and I appreciated the time he took to talk to me. I hope to get him back the next time I have service done to my system. I am very please with Ehler and their people and I do recommend then when ever possible.
The stead fast response by Ehlers to contact me in order to setup an appointment to replace my water heater was very appreciative. The technician Eric was very considerate of my home along with making sure that I was happy with the tank drain line. I would highly recommend Ehlers and Eric again.
Ehlers is amazing. Theyre professional, responsive and extremely knowledgeable. Always come, resolve issues quickly, and make sure to educate me on what went wrong before leaving. They will never pressure you to pay for products or services outside what you request and thats the part I love best.
I was very impressed with the prompt and professional service I received. Keith came over within the hour after I called to report the problem I was having. I determined that the cost to repair my 20 year old furnace was not worth it. The next day someone came over to inform me of my choices to purchase a new one...and than the next day my new furnace, humidifier, and FANCY thermostat were installed by Nate. Everyone I dealt with in those three days including the girl talked with on the phone were very courteous and helpful.
I was able to make an appointment within couple of days. The technician came in timely fashion, he was very professional.I had to do re-certification of my furnace. The technician detected a problem with my furnace, which caused the replacement of it.Unfortunately, because I have home warranty insurance I had to use different company for furnace installation, and it was a whole different experience.Every time I called Ehlers with a question, they were very helpful and professional.
I have used Ehlers for the last 7 years for multiple HVAC repairs, general service, buying filters, and installing new HVAC system or water heater. In every interaction I have ever had, the staff is wonderful, explains everything they are doing, and are always on time. I think the customer service has been better over the years. Had a hot water heater installed by Ehlers. Even with the holiday, they were able to get out right away. Price was good compared to a few other places I called. No surprises or extras once they got here. Jake and Paul were the installers and there were outstanding. Curious (used drop clothes) and polite - even with it being late on a Friday. They did a great job with the instal, providing information and kept moving quickly so a long job didnt become even longer. Couldnt be happier.
This company earned my trust and we will be lifelong customers. The entire team, from the front desk to the rep to installers were great. Eric was thorough, patient and accommodating while I hemmed and hawed about what system to install. He was never pushy or trying to make a quick sale. Don the main install guy was very knowledgable and explained everything once it was put in. He and Matt did a superb job and left the site spotless-- it was actually cleaner than when they arrived! They also immediately won over my fearful dog (and thats always good in my book). Thank you for your dedication to customer service.
Last week our heater stopping pushing out warm air. After my husband took a look at it and ruled out the easiest to diagnose issues, I called Ehlers. I called first thing in the morning, and they had Brent out to us by 1:20pm. Brent was courteous, patient with my obnoxious puppy who was wary, and quick to diagnose the issue. He managed to get the heat back on, but he told me he didnt have the small part causing the issue, to replace (they dont carry parts for our kind of furnace). As I was paying the $89 dispatch fee, I asked if we would have to pay labor when they came back out. It was a teeny tiny part (a limit switch), and just needed to be replaced. He said we would not be charged again (I guess maybe he meant for the $89 dispatch fee?), and told me the part was cheap. He said the office would call that afternoon to let us know the cost of the part and schedule for it to be installed. The office did not call that day (Friday), I called Saturday, they said they would call Monday. On Monday I got a call from the office. They quoted us $193.06. That seemed exorbitantly high, knowing it would take maybe 15 minutes to install, and I knew the part was cheap. When I asked the lady on the phone for a price breakdown, she said they dont do that, which is super sheisty. If a company cant break down the cost for parts and labor, how do I know what Im paying for? I was also frustrated because whether or not I used them to replace the part, I now had to wait for a part to be ordered, rather than having it able to be installed same day, had it been ordered Friday. I told the lady I would let her know if we needed her and spoke with my husband. He ordered the part himself, it was $6. $10 shipping for next day delivery. There is no way that $193 was a justified amount. I know they have to make money, but that is an obnoxious mark up. We will not be using Ehlers again.
Very pleased with the great level of service, I have bought a new home and previous owner had installed all new furnace and central air from Ehlers. Had an issue with a fault code and furnace not firing. Keith C. came out fixed the problem within minutes no charge and took the time to explain all the features to me about the new equipment. Totally professional and I would highly recommend them!
We got quotes from multiple companies on a new furnace, humidifier and a new hot water tank (which not every HVAC company does). Eric came over and spent around 1.5 hours at our house, asked lots of questions and answered all of our questions we ever had about our HVAC system. We talked about a lot more then just the unit, we talked about our insulation, problems we are having with hot spots and cold spots in the house, he looked at most of our vents and cold air returns, he was the best. From the beginning, we felt like we just trusted him. The other companies we met with didnt ask any of these questions and hardly looked at our unit, was there for 15min and left us with a quote. Crazy enough, 1 week later, our furnace went out but we already knew we wanted to move forward with Ehlers and they were able to install everything the next day. Their staff was friendly and did a great job installing, it looks great. If you want to work with a company you trust, use Ehlers!
The blower mower on our furnace was going bad so I called Ehlers to come look at it since they were the ones who installed the furnace initially. Now, I realize that getting service on a Saturday is more expensive, for Ehlers it’s time and a half or $150.00 just to show-up? My issue is that they also then charge 1 1/2 the normal price for parts??? I get the service charge but the parts pricing is simply highway robbery! I was charged $615.00 for a simple blower motor that you can buy new online for $129.00... You have got to be kidding me! Great service guy, friendly, prompt and professional... I am quite certain the owners of Ehlers could careless but I can assure you I will not utilize this company again. BEWARE!!!
I was fixing my own furnace and needed a replacement blower motor on a Saturday. Most companies were only interested in setting me up with a Technician for emergency service (or worse wouldnt have anyone until Thursday). I called and confirmed they sold parts and upon arrival the gentlemen in the office at Ehlers was very familiar with how the furnaces work and set me up with a replacement part.The interaction was pleasant and he made some very helpful comments both confirming my own diagnosis of the problem and how I needed to proceed to finish the job.Overall a good experience as someone with a solid background in HVAC doing my own work. I would consider them with more significant heating/cooling needs in the future.
Ehlers was fantastic! I first went there hoping to obtain a part that would fix my furnace issue. The team was very genuine and hoped with me it would be a simple repair that was less expensive. When the part didn’t work, I called to have Service dispatched. They were timely and never tried to upsell me — in fact, every effort was made to find a cost effective resolution.Great service and even better people!!!

I was extremely satisfied with Ehlers ( I always have been since they installed a new furnace and air conditioner for me approx. 6 years ago). Recently I had to call Ehlers for some inspection into my thermostat. They quickly responded to my call (same day) and the technician(Len) was very professional, courteous and respected both me and my property. Ehlers will always be my first choice for any heating and air conditioning needs I have. Keep up the good work Ehlers.
This is the only company I trust with their products, professionalism, knowledge and well informed technicians. Very professional and well mannered technicians in which you dont see too often somewhere else. I have been using their services since 1996 and not even one time they let me down. I had my yearly furnace/a/c maintenance done in which part of the service was to clean my condensate pump. A couple weeks later we heard a noise in the crawl space. My wife had to crawl under the house to check it out because I had just had a knee replacement. I called Ehlers and they basically said it wasn’t anything that they caused and it would be a week or more before they could come back. I purchased a new pump and my wife went back under the house and installed it with supervision from me. Really disappointed with Ehlers!
Rob and Dave showed up this morning at 08:00 sharp, ready to go. They both worked efficiently, professionally and quietly all day to get our new Carrier Infinity Furnace installed, as rapidly as possible. When they had an install issue, e.g., my pump drainage hose was buried inside a drywall ceiling in the basement. Dave didn’t hesitate, he dealt with it and had a new hose hooked up I no time. Rob worked quietly and effectively all day on the electrical and gas lines. They work together extremely well as a team, complimenting each other’s efforts with efficiency and cooperation.Eric, the sales Rep, is a professional individual who , learned his trade via the business of doing the installing, repairing and maintaining the equipment he now sells. So when he discussed options with me, the customer, I felt he was talking from first hand experience not book knowledge.Every year they have an open house where you as a customer can walk in, buy filters etc. on sale, get a cup of coffee and a few cookies while talking to the friendly office staff. Plus we usually make arrangements at that time for us and our two next door neighbors to get our three furnaces/AC units inspected on the same day by the same friendly technician, Oscar.It’s a family run business that understands customer service.
Ehlers was called to resolve an issue with our old, out-of-date furnace failing to ignite. Their technician was knowledgeable, professional, and thorough. He quickly resolved the problem without needing to order parts. He also advised us of areas of potential future concern that we could watch out for and suggested ways to lengthen the service life of the unit. Very pleased.
On a Sunday my hot water tank was leaking and I was thrilled that I was able to set an appointment for someone to come out on Monday, the two technicians that came were awesome , very professional, knowledgeable and made me feel at ease of what needed to be done. Ehlers did the original install of my furnace and ac 20yrs ago. I contacted them thinking that I needed a new blower motor because the furnace was making a clinking noise. Everything online said it was the motor. They came out to diagnose and actually talked me out of replacing the motor. Did some preventive maintenance and said the furnace was in great shape. Charged me a reasonable amount for their labor and left. The technician was very honest. Will definitely continue to use them in the future.Pat
Last night out 22 year old furnace died. I called Ehlers at 10:00 pm. A very nice lady answered the call, gathered my info and assured me that a technician would get back to me right away.Matt called back quickly and was at our home in less than 30 minutes to assess the problem. Unfortunately the inducer motor was done and the heat exchanger was cracked. Matt turned off the gas and the furnace and checked our home for carbon monoxide. Matt said he would let the office know first thing in the morning that we needed to fix or replace the furnace. Eric called at 8, we decided to replace the furnace. 8:30 a crew of 2 were on their way to take care of it. They are currently dragging the old one up the stairs. They have covered the floor with tarps and are being ultra careful not to bang into any walls.
My central air broke down a couple days before the hottest days so far this year (July 2019). The company I typically use for service was not available for a week to come out for a repair. So I did a local search for other HVAC repair shops and gave Ehlers a call. They were able to come out the next day, and the repairman Oscar quickly determined the issue and fixed it quickly. AC restored! Thank you!
I called 4 other companies this morning and none of them could come out today. A friend recommended Ehlers. So glad I called, they were out to the house within the hour and had me up and running in no time. Great price and professional feiendly service. I will continue to use them for all my cooling and heating needs.
Needed help with air purifier. They sent Oscar and he checked, and double checked every possible explanation for why it quit working. Only after his very thorough inspection did he indicate that the purifier needed to be replaced. He was almost as disappointed as I was that he could not fix it . Oscar was on time, worked nonstop while remaining very personable throughout his visit. He was very respectful and careful, from the moment he entered the house including wearing “ booties” over his shoes. I would have no problem welcoming Oscar back into our home and we hope he comes back to install our new air purifier. Jennifer in the office was very pleasant in scheduling my service call and she provided some very critical information to help me get the needed purifier under warranty saving me hundreds of dollars.
Oscar was extremely knowledgeable and had a great deal of professional expertise. He was very thorough and left no stone unturned to find out what the problems were. He did everything that he could to better our situation. In the future, I will always ask for Oscar. He is a great asset of your company.
I was drawn to Ehlers based on two things: 1) their high cumulative rating and 2) quantity of reviews (164 at time of my review. That would be a lot of cousins and friends to artificially inflate their rating).My situation is I have a 19 year old air handler and AC condenser. My coil is rusting, the plenum is not insulated, and my over flow pan is too small. time for a new one. I called Ehler for a estimate to replace. They wanted $85 (I might be off $5 one way or the other) to provide me a quote. Yes, you read that right, charge the customer to bid on the job.When I heard that, I asked what brands/models they carry for condenser, is same brand used for air handler, would they re-use the line set or replace, is a wet switch included in install or extra charge? Im knowledgeable about systems but recognize I need a pro to do the install. No answer provided other than, well discuss that during the appointment. We didnt because I wont pay for the estimate. Plenty of reputable pros out there who provide their price before you agree to pay them.June 7 update (reply to owner). Record of my call? I didnt provide my home phone, business(work) phone, not my cell phone # in my review. [I will look in my logs for the exact date and time the call was made and convert it to you]. Therefore, I assume its based on my name. And why would you have me name recorded somewhere if I decided to not use your company? I applaud the attempt to try and spin this negative review. A 2 star didnt like rating vs a hated it. I believe Im assessing your company fairly. Look on the bright side, you now know you have a training issue.
I had a very bad experience with another heating and cooling company, then I called Ehlers. They are extremely professional and honest. My experience from the first phone call to the end of the service call was nothing but top notch. Kudos to Oscar for not only fixing my issues but he explained things in detail and showed me photos of the issues prior to fixing them. I would HIGHLY recommend this company and I will never use anyone else for my heating and cooling.
We had maintenance done on our air conditioning unit. The tech was Matt. He arrived within the set timeframe. He called to let us know he was on the way. He explained what he was doing and why outside. Then he explained some things I asked about on the thermostat inside. He was very thorough.
I am displeased with Ehlers. I got insulation work done on my house at the end of July. As part of my package with Ecotelligent Homes, I got a furnace tune-up from Ehlers. They reported on 7/22/19 that everything was working fine. I was mildly annoyed that when they changed the filter, they used one I had already bought myself that was sitting out instead of providing their own. When you pay $10k for a project, you expect little things like that to be covered, or at least ask if you can use my filter... but I didnt make a fuss. Fast forward to yesterday, 10/16/19 and I turn on my furnace for the first time. Its not working. So I call Ehlers and they tell me it will be $89 for a service call. I said, Its not even been 3 months since you did the tune up and something has gone wrong. Why would you charge me for this? The woman over the phone said she would make a note that they had already been out to my home for the technician. When the technician, Len Mahoney, arrived he said the issue was the circuit board. But my warranty expired in September. My furnace was bought in 2014. Len said that they might have been able to squeeze my warranty, but it had already been used previously to replace a bad motor on the furnace (which was true). So I ended up paying $476 total (including the $89 dispatch fee). No payment plan offered or anything. Just a huge hit on my credit card. I asked Len how this was possible on a furnace that is not even 5 years old, especially when Ehlers was JUST out and Lens response was: Well, July was quite a while ago and anything can happen. Could have been a power surge. July was not even 3 months ago! So then I asked Len if I needed to be worried about anything else and he did say it was unusual for such a young furnace to have had 2 major problems in its lifespan. But he couldnt give me any additional feedback. Len was very cordial, so no issues with his professionalism -- but given my experience I cant help but think that Ehlers is unreliable for solid information and I certainly wont be using them again in the future.
Glad I found them. When I choose companies, I really look at reviews carefully these days. I had read about this Oscar guy and how great he was. I was glad to have Oscar show up. He knew exactly what to do and gave me great advice and information on expectations of how long my AC units will last. When I need new units, I will call this company for sure.
Provided an estimate to replace our existing furnace and AC. We contacted Ehlers on the recommendation of an energy efficiency company. The estimate arrived quickly, was extremely clear as to the scope of the labor, and pricing was in the ball park for other estimates, though it was not the lowest price. Most of all I was impressed with representative personally. Eric Borkowski is clearly extremely knowledgable and professional. He really took the time to understand our wants and needs and was responsive to my follow up questions. Of all the reps that provided an estimate (we obtained estimates for six companies), Eric stood out as the best. In the end, we decided to go with a different but comparable brand from another installer. Our decision based on pricing and manufacturer promotions. If you are interested in Carrier products, I strongly recommend that you contact Ehlers. Ask for Eric. Hes great.
I normally do not leave reviews. But from the moment the phone was answered, Ehlers won my business. We have not concluded my repair yet, but from the phone to the service rep...Keith, I am impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, and overall personal care that I have received so far. The only reason they do not have all stars is because we are not finished. My repair needs parts ordered. I look forward to working with this company in the future and will definately refer out.
Very impressed!! Came on time. Professional install. Clean with drop cloths. Were gentle taking the old and new water heaters up and down. Len Mahoney listened patiently and answered all my questions. Price of replacing my water heater was very competitive as well. Great communication by email and texts. Thank you Elhers.
Ehlers installed a new high efficiency air-conditioner, furnace and hot water heater. They were very professional in every aspect of the process from proposal to installation. They listened to our concerns and demonstrated excellent customer service . I highly recommend them.
Our furnace wouldnt come-on so I called Ehelers based on our past experience. I was not disappointed, the technician arrived when promised, diagnosed the problem and quickly had our furnace operating again. Ehlers provides friendly and knowledgeable service at a fair price.
My air conditioner stopped Thursday night Ehlers came Friday at 12:30. Oscar the technician called me and said he would be there in 35 minutes I think he was actually early, bonus. I typically hate dealing with HVAC companies, I now have my go to company for HVAC. Oscar was obviously highly skilled and wasted no time pinpointing my problem. I appreciated when he showed me the burned wire that caused the problem, total transparency was nice. Oscar fixed it the right way and my old AC unit was back in action. I have to say, when companies have employees like Oscar who know there stuff and are great representatives of the company it makes you feel you got great value for your dollar. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone who asks, thanks Ehlers and Oscar too.
They came out same day to fix my AC. The repairman left and 20 mins later the breaker popped again. I called and he came back within the hour and properly diagnosed the problem. My system is now cooling normally. He even showed me how to clean my unit properly and safely and gave me recommended intervals. All of this with pending inclement weather. I highly recommend!
I wish I could give Ehlers higher than 5 stars.On the coldest day of the year, actually the coldest day I can remember (-40 degrees with wind chill), our boiler broke in the early evening, which meant we either had to get it fixed before night or wed likely have to leave the house and stay somewhere else. We called MANY places in a panic just to hear they could not service us either due to capacity or they dont service boilers. We landed on Ehlers website and I started chatting with a women on their chat option, she was so incredibly helpful (I wish i remembered her name) and within 30 minutes we had a call from Keith, who agreed hed be out to help us right away even though we were slightly out of their service area (I believe they serve Canton, were in Belleville).Keith came out as quickly as he could and was able to fix our boiler quickly and shared all sorts of boiler knowledge with my fiance on what we should/could do moving forward to ensure the best boiler efficiency.Ehlers really saved our butts by understanding the emergency circumstances and were beyond helpful in easing our panic.
I had been having problems with my Nest thermostat for a few months. Keith from Ehlers Came in and fixed it with no problem. In addition, he patiently answered other questions I had and took his time to explain a variety of things to me. I will definitely been using Ehlers in the future!
My experience began with initialling finding Ehlers Heating & Air Conditioning on Google and appearing optimistic due to their outstanding reviews.I reached out to schedule a furnace tune up and to have my ductwork evaluated as I recognized the possible need to have it completely updated/replaced. I did this using their online contact page and specifically requested to be emailed due to my busy schedule (I am rarely available by phone).They ignored this request and called me for several days leaving voicemails I was unable to reply to.When I was finally able to schedule an appointment by phone, everything seemed fine.Well the day of the appointment has come and gone, they called to announce they were on their way but wanted a phone call to confirm I was available (voicemail, as again I was unavailable by phone as I warned them). By the time I was able to wrap up what I was doing and respond they had already called back (3 min later) to cancel the appointment.After calling back, they made it apparent there was no regard for my now wasted morning.After making it clear that this was the time I made available and was unable to reschedule for the near future, she quickly dismissed me by saying, theres no possible way they would schedule such a specific time.As I said, I plan on having some extensive ductwork and HVAC work done. If becuase of Jeanettes attitude alone, I will not be calling upon Ehlers services and instead be seeking the advice of one of their competitors.Update: This is an emailed response to the generic customer service email since I was not give a platform to respond.Good morning,While I appreciate the response, wouldnt you think a personal response would be more warranted? At the very least your contact information?I have no phone call from your business prior to 902a (VM @ 904a) and no emails at all. I attempted again at 933 (once I noticed your business line also left a message cancelling my appointment but 3 min after the tech called) and couldnt get through to anyone.All of which can be written off as technology failure, but this still doesnt answer for the rude attitude from Jeanette (hope Im spelling it right).Yes, a later time was offered.....so your response to wasting my morning (of which I forfeited work/pay to give you business that could be an entire HVAC overhaul) was for me to take the rest of my day off work and wait by the phone in hopes you might call?I made it very clear that I am busy and had cleared the time between 9a and noon for your business, and your managers response to that was that she would fit me in so I better be sitting by the phone.Again, with quite the snide attitude.
The technician was on time and did a great job. He checked everything. Replaced the filters, cleaned the drain tube, checked out the thermostat while checking the AC units performance, cleaned the AC unit all in a very efficient manner. He also tightened a part of the unit that was loose and beginning to make a rattling sound.
Called for a furnace repair, but seemed unsure of what the issue was. Suggested replacing wiring, but admitted not sure it would help. I knew it wasnt going well when he started our furnace was acting weird and crazy. Ultimately nothing was fixed and we still have a furnace that does not run. Also they were not transparent about the pricing, the information given to us over the phone about cost of the service did not match with what I was charged. I would not have hired them if I had the full information.
Dont go here they will try and just take your money. I had a warranty issue with my furnace and I called them they said oh nothing is covered your warranty is only 5 years. I called Carrier the furnace manufacturer and found out my issue is a known issue with the furnace and its covered for 20 years parts and larbor. The lady on the phone said oh we still need to bill you $850 because we have to send the parts into the dealer.
I have not felt this taken in my life!Today, within a minute of showing my technician our furnace (which had error code 41 displayed on our thermostat) he indicated our switchboard/motor/and memory chip were all shot. I told him he could take some time and try to see if he could save anything. He was downstairs for a little less than 15 minutes & indicated he needed to go to his car to write it up. 24 minutes later... he came inside to grab my cc information. He then told me since it ran over 30 minutes he would have to charge not the initial $87 but $139! I started laughing and said is that why you took so long in the car? I don’t think he expected me to call him out. The tech then tried to save himself by rambling on about how he was checking with carrier on the parts etc.I indicated while he was in the car, I had time to: grab my receipt from 2013 > I pull up carriers website > double checked I registered all of my parts from 2013 > I even had time to call carrier and speak to a rep to make triple checks the 10 year warranty still was in good standing for parts.....and the ehlers rep looked at me dazed. He said.. Wait you just called Carrier - Carrier said that? I laughed, and told him its wild what can happen when you’re making an extra $50 ..........And heres the kicker, I called ehlers main line to indicate what had just occurred. And the lady indicated, i wish you would have called me when he was trying to charge you. She went on to make excuses what he was doing in the car for so long. Example: he had a lot to do like upload few pictures he had to upload to my service chartShe then went on to say he took so long because he had called her, to tell her how I had talked to carrier about my parts warranty.Haha are you kidding me!!! I didn’t tell him I had called Carrier about my parts warranty until after he came back from his long-term excursion to the car.It is so unfortunate to write such a bad review, considering I had such a great experience in 2013 with eric purchasing/installing a new furnace & air conditioner. Does anyone know what company eric’s at now?!
Larry and the staff here are top notch. Had an inducer motor fail on my residential furance. Larry was able to quickly get me pricing on all needed materials, had everything in stock, and at a very reasonable price. He made a suggestion on additional components to make the job easier and it was a huge time saver!! This is my new HVAC store for the future!!
Ehlers is currently installing our new furnace, air conditioner and redoing all of our ducting work. Couldnt be happier with the progress and professionalism from the company and the employees. Tried dealing with a few othe companies for quotes and service and none have had the customer service level Elhers has.
I have been with Ehlers Heating and Cooling for a long time and have been completely satisfied. The entire staff excels in customer service whether it is a maintenance visit or a call into their offices. They are prompt and clean up and very friendly and have time to answer any questions you may have.
Called later afternoon, arrived early the next day on one of the coldest days of the year. Made adjustments so that the high-fire stage was not locking out operation. Service man stayed to run it through several cycles to make sure that everything worked, and it has worked with no problem since.
I absolutely LOVE this company ❗️Ms. Junette and the owners really helped me and my family when we needed them. We have been customers for over 10 years now, and we will not call any other company when it comes to my furnace and central air unit. THEY ARE THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS ❗️

2022-04-11Recommend Ehlers for all your heating and cooling needs.My Furnace had stopped working properly and I called them Monday morning at about 7:50 am and I got there after hours scheduling line, the dispatcher was very nice and got all my info and put me into there computer system she didnt book me an appointment because it would have charged me an emergency call fee of 169.00She told me I have you in the system just call back at 8am so you will only pay the 100.00 dispatch fee.The office lady I spoke with was very nice and professional. She got me scheduled for the same day with a window of 12 to 4pm. They arrived at about 2:15pm.Kristian Keith was my technician. He was very knowledgeable and professional. If Ehlers allows you to request a technician I recommend him. He figured out the problem very quickly and explained it to me and even showed me a photo of the issue.Once he was completed he answered all the questions I had about the furnace age and replacement if needed and also answered my questions about my AC unit which I will have them come to inspect it before the temperatures get to hot.Company is very trustworthy as well as there technicians.Strongly Recommend

2022-06-07Last summer I had my A/C go out, and I had a gentleman named Christian come out. He changed out my capacitor, put in refrigerant, and cleaned my whole unit all in a timely manner. I got on their maintenance plan and had Steve come out in the winter and make sure my furnace would be up and running properly, and then had Devin come out and do my summer maintenance on my A/C so I wouldn’t have any issues moving forward. Their maintenance plan is incredibly affordable and the customer service/piece of mind that the plan brings is worth it in and of itself. I HIGHLY recommend this company, as from personal experience I can tell you they clearly employee some of the best in the industry!

2022-06-07They got us scheduled super quickly and were very transparent about pricing throughout the early process. I never felt like I wasnt informed or missing some important information. For the actual install dates, the crew was always on time and super respectful of my family and my property. Continually kept me updated on their progress. At the end, walked me through everything and made sure I knew how to maintain my new system. Really good dudes. Jake is a gem.

2022-04-28Gentleman came and replaced a baseboard heater pipe for us. He saved the day! Pricing was reasonable and the gentleman even checked the other pipes for any splits. It took him a couple hours but he was really kind and professional. Will definitely use this company in the future.

Jake was at my home for previous maintenance work so he remembered some personal information which he used to carry on a brief conversation. This made his visit even more friendly and comfortable. 2022-03-08Replacing a $35 furnace igniter and 30-40 minutes of labor costed me $378.73.I requested an explanation from a business manager, but have not heard anything yet.
