Comment: TWOS NOT A CHARM!!I have moved into the area over two years ago. I have used two other car rental companies during that time. Neither of them offered pickup and dropoff at my home. Enterprise does! Their driver, Leah-Marie, is excellent and entertaining as well. Their desk clerks are bilingual. Their car coordinator, Cody, was fast and knowledgeable. Their weekly price was great. I am now an Enterprise fan and future customer.Everything I said above is true. This all happened on my first rental! However on my second rental, I also required pickup and dropoff. It was on November 22, 2022 (two days before Thanksgiving), with a 4 PM pickup. I called on November 21, as instructed, to remind them of my scheduled pickup time. Their employee told me that every thing was set. On November 22, the actual rental day, I gave Enterprise a call to see if they were on schedule. There was no answer, I ended up calling 15 times from 3 PM to 5 PM and never got an answer!! During that same time period I also called the Enterprise national number 6 times. Their officials tried to contact the local office and were unsuccessful also. No one ever showed up at my home for the pickup and my one week rental did not happen!When you have a rental car, one of the most important things in an emergency is communication with your rental company. Thank God that my emergency did not occur when I was on the road!! I am NOT NOW an Enterprise fan and I will not be a future costumer.

Comment: The customer service is very good although I use enterprise quite a bit and I have always felt they need more personnel, especially during busy times, the staff is always running and doing as much as possible with many in the lounge. also I feel they need to stay open later on Saturdays. Other wise a great shoutout to the personnel they just were so accommodating to me I had a very long rental and they even were super nice to change my rental car for me during the time.

They even made sure to check the CD player for a CD that I left in there and I was able to pick it up later.

Comment: I usually choose enterprise for all of my car rentals, but decided to use a car sharing company for my recent trip to visit family.That was a bad idea.The car I had rented from the individual at the sharing company broke down on me and my two children in the middle of the night and in the middle of nowhere.The next day, I’m grateful that enterprise came through like always and got me in a great car that was clean, roomy and most of all RELIABLE. From start to finish, they made the process extremely easy and showed endless kindness and consideration of what had just happened to us.Check in took about 15 mins and everyone was amazing. I can’t remember the name of the lady at the front desk but thank you for asking me how I was doing, it made a big difference in my day. Miguel made sure I had everything I needed before I took off and we were all set from there.At drop off, Pedro was so kind and amazing. He got us in and out quickly so we could make our flight on time.Thank you to everyone who helped make my trip right and helping me and my daughters feel safe! And thank you enterprise!

I reserved a Standard Pick up truck over a month out and when the day came to pick it up, they informed me that they did not have one available. I asked them to call around to see if any other branch would have one available and good thing was they did. They had one an hour out, so they told me to come back in 2 hours. I ensured a time frame to come back and they agreed. When i came back those 2 hours later, the truck still wasnt there, so i had to wait another hour for it to get there and be cleaned. Other then that the staff was really polite and professional throughout the whole situation. I will still recommend Enterprise.

Comment: I rent a lot of cars from Enterprise for business. The customer service is always great with the exception of the Corona franchise. Last week I rented from here. The vehicle upon delivery was dirty and they never fill it with gas. The car was not acceptable for business use. I felt like I was in a low-rider. They also had to bump me up to another car beforehand because they did not have an intermediate vehicle, or an SUV. While the employee engagement was good, this franchise needs some work to bring it up to Enterprise quality. This is not my first time at this franchise. I hope Enterprise management is listening.

Comment: I normally rent vehicles from Enterprise in Lompoc. I have never had an issue and they have been extremely helpful. The only issue is that the Lompoc location is not open on Saturdays so this time, I decided to rent from Santa Maria so I could return the vehicle on Saturday. The gentleman that rented me the vehicle had not noticed that the “low tire pressure” was on in the vehicle when he checked it before giving it to me. When I got in and noticed the light, before departing, I went inside to let him know. His reply? “Would you mind taking it to Jiffy Lube?” No common sense whatsoever in renting me another vehicle instead. I had to request it. I downgraded the vehicle type because there was no other vehicle available.I will not be renting from this location again in the future.

Comment: I used booking.com for the reservation. The one-day car rental quote was $61. When I turned the car in the next day, Enterprise charged $124. The guy at the local facility had zero ability to answer a question, and said to call customer service. I called there, and got a horrible woman whonrefused to let me talk. She transferred me to escalatuon, and she refused to let me talk and then she hung up. I have called my bank and have filed a dispute as I have the original email showing the agreed upon rate. I will never use this @#$% company EVER AGAIN!!!

Comment: I have rented from Enterprise several times over the years with great service! However the 2 times I’ve rented from this location have been horrible!! This time on the second day into my week rental I had 5 phones calls within 40 minutes to “remind me of my return date.”Then I call 5 days after return of vehicle, I dropped off to mechanic shop which I as what the agreement was,” just to see what the refund policy is for my deposit because I forgot to ask. They informed me they still haven’t picked up the vehicle which is sitting outside of the mechanic shop to wear anything could happen to it and I will still be held reliable and they let me know they would get it within the next couple days when they have time and then it will take 4 to 5 business days for me to get my deposit back after that if I would’ve known that I would’ve found transportation to go drop the vehicle off at their office instead of taking them up on their offer to drop it off at the shop and they will pick it up that evening. Besides the fact that the gentleman I spoke to was extremely rude and I had to tell him a few times over the name of the shop because he kept telling me the wrong shop that the vehicle was at I finally just hung up on him and called the shop myself and asked if the vehicle was still there and they confirmed it was that they had called enterprise as well to remind them to pick up the vehicle! This is the last time I will be returning to the Santa Maria location I have not advise anybody else to go to that location either.

Comment: Wonderful car. Was given a free upgrade. Love Enterprise car rental. Re-rented again today. Was given a free upgrade again. I cannot say how thankful I am for this this time. I was driving to SBA and at 3:30am I was forced to slam on the brakes because there was a man standing in the middle of the freeway. Due to the upgrade to the Chevy equinox I was able to stop without incident. Im afraid if I was driving the original car this would not have happened this way. So thankful to Enterprise. Always rent from them and always will. Cannot say thank you enough.

My boyfriend spotted a Jeep on site that was equivalent to what we ordered yet we had to pay extra. That’s unacceptable. Comment: I had a very bad experience my first time renting from your enterprise in Santa Maria, CA. That time I walked away and cancelled my reservation. I gave it a try one time and this time the staff were nice, which I really appreciate. The only reason that I am scoring with a 3 star is because I had to request to get a car with gas tank full.There is no reason why I should have to get a rental car with a gas tank with only a quarter full. Every time that I rented a car is always full and I return it the same way. My problem is how can I return the car with quarter of a tank? how I am suppose to calculate it?I would suggest for all enterprise to just provide all customers with a full tank.

Comment: I was headed on a field trip with ten 12-14 year old boys when the other driver got sick and could not make it. This was at 4pm on a Friday and we were leaving at 7:30 Saturday. I had to go to physical therapy so I called my husband and asked him to see if he could rent a van. The contact number automatically directs you to a reservation line. My husband called Enterprise they said they had one available but they closed at 6. He reserved even got a reservation confirmation number and he had given them all his and my current information. I got out of my appointment and rushed there only to be told they did not have and it was not their fault they had tried calling. There were no missed calls or voicemails on mine or my husbands phone. No apologies when I said what happened. No resolution or apologies when my husband called the reservation line to complain. If they had just told us sooner we could have tried other places but most other places also closed at 6. The customer service was terrible!!!! Will not use them again.Update 5/10 If you look below they responded that they would be happy to look into it. I e-mailed with a copy of the reservation email and a week later they responded Thank you for choosing Enterprise for your car rental needs! My name is Ashley. I will be happy to help you today. Comment: I rent from Enterprise nearly weekly (have rented 100+ days this year) and this location needs some work, I think. The vehicle we had rented from SF area worked great until a tire pressure alarm went off in the vehicle. After adding air to all tires, the light and alarm would sound even after 20 miles of driving post-air fill. So we brought it to the nearest Enterprise (in Santa Maria).We were given a replacement after asking but there were issues that together made for a less than reasonable exchange. There was some awkwardness when phone was answered while I was mid-sentence of explaining our situation. We were told 15 minute wait for replacement car which ended up being nearly 30 minutes for a car that had been sitting there since we arrived (we parked next to it upon arrival). Others were helped before us that arrived later with similar issue (leaking oil) and were given a replacement car immediately (I can only assume because insurance was covering their rental vs mine was a personal rental).Most importantly the long wait for the car that was there the whole time was was also dirty inside and out. Very muddy outside, crumbs, trash and wrappers in the car, and dirt/powder on the dash/center console.I.e. it hadnt been touched since the last driver. I then noticed their back lot was full (some cars with water droplets from being freshly cleaned). It made no sense.Definitely expect higher quality and at the very least apologies for the inconvenience, not a dirty replacement for something that was out of our control. We could have easily received the same insurance-claim car that was instead given to someone else while we were waiting or any other of the clean ones pictured here. I know you guys can do better than this as all other Enterprise locations I rent from provide clean cars with great service. Why did I receive a dirty car as replacement for a faulty one? Why was I helped after those that arrived after me, even with similar issues?

I was in a hurry so I just turned the windshield wipers on and squirted it so I could at least see a little better as I drove off. Already unhappy with them not keeping their word with the rate they quoted me the week before when I made the reservation. (Liars)Monday, 10/15/2018, when I returned the vehicle, I was pretty set on this being my last time renting from this location. As I was awaiting my ride back, assistant manager Peter asked if I was satisfied. I told the truth, he asked to speak to me outside. I did. He thanked me for honesty and offered a daily flat rate somewhat comparable to the location I previously rented from regularly. His goal, as stated, was to keep me as a lifetime customer... We booked the reservation for 8 am that Friday, 10/19/2018 and I told him I would continue booking from them.Thursday,10/18/2018, evening, around 6:40 pm (after hours) I got a call from Peter. He was very apologetic and said he could not honor the reservation or the rate he gave me and was disciplined by his area manager, David Wheeler, as a result. To make things worse, he said not only could he not honor the discount, he was not able to honor the rental at all, not even at market rate.I asked why. He said because his manager insisted I used a debit card when renting the car. Confused, I asked him to explain, I used a credit card. He said David Wheeler insisted it was a debit card and that I was not able to produce proof of residence to rent from that facility, which is a requirement when renting with a debit card. Again, I explained it was not a debit card. I only use credit. That was a master card credit card. He said he tried to explain the same, as that is what his understanding was as well...I told him how upset and disappointed I was because I had an 8 am reservation, 9 and 11 am appointments and they just called me after hours, the night before to drop this bomb on me. I asked why they didnt notify me earlier? Why the night before when there is not much I can do about it? It would have been easier for me to have rented from another location in another city had I been advised of this situation earlier that day or even days prior. So now I was stuck.Peter apologized again, and said he tried to explain how I had just survived a pretty traumatic incident making me have to flee my home, thus the reason I was there in the first place. I should not have had to provide any proof of local residency because I rented from a credit card. The rate he quoted was higher, but comparable to what I paid at the previous Enterprise (which is also within their same region by the way) for the purpose of keeping me as a customer, and Dave Wheeler chose to take disciplinary action against him and leaving him with the task of bring the one to break the news to me.I have to say, they totally have things super backwards...The rates being as high as they are, one would think they would be a little more on top of their game.One thing I can say about Peter is that at least he had the balls enough to be straight up with me about what happened. The lady manager I interacted with my first time, the week prior, gave me a rate, and when I came to pick up the car, she totally flipped it on me and made it appear as if it never happened. I felt like I was in a twilight zone. She said that rate was too low. But that is what you said you would do, I argued from her lips to Gods ears.Look, make sure you get whatever they say in writing, or record it or something. These people cant be trusted. I have been a faithful customer and invested thousands of dollars in car rentals with this company for this to happen... One companys trashed customer is anothers treasure! I look forward to taking my business else where! No more Enterprise for me. At least not this location.

Comment: My insurance company sent a reservation this past Thursday(4-26-18) because I was in a car accident. I called and was put on hold for 10 mins and then this girl answered and said if I could hold. I told her I was already on hold prior to her answering the phone. She said let me get your name and number, I’ll give you call back so I gave her my information. Never got a call back from her. I missed my sons surgery appointment in LA. I had to be there at 4am (4-27-18). I call as soon as they opened and asked to speak to the manager and I told him what had happened. All he said was that it wasn’t his problem and that they get busy . (He was in the tone of voice like I don’t care). I told him he should talk to his employees about following up again on customers that they take information from. So he started to yell at me over the phone. I hunged up on him, I Called my insurance to switch me rental companies. I explained what happened and they said they were going to file a report. Luckily another company was able to take care of us and treat us rite.

Comment: Two weeks ago my car insurance paid and reserved a rental from this company while my truck was getting repaired. The insurance paid for the rental, I only had to pay $ 50 deposit and was given the option to get full coverage on the vehicle which I did and paid $35 for that.The lady then told me I would get the remaining of my deposit after my truck was done and return the rental.It took 12 days for my truck to get repaired.I returned the rental and Couple days later I check my account expecting the rest of my deposit to just find out that they withdrew almost $500 from my account without my authorization. I had to go in person and get an explanation, I was told that I was paying $35 daily on insurance and not $35 the whole span while my truck was getting repaired.I received some of my money back but still, this was no misunderstanding . This company has to be really clear when offering their insurance options. Invest in a good bilingual employee please.

Comment: Very friendly and professional, however I have experienced quite a wait getting a car after Ive already made a reservation. This had caused me miss appointments, etc. I have always been told that my deposit would be $200, when I get there its higher than expected. I have had quite a few inconveniences but your staff there is awesome!!! Despite some of the inconvenience they are definitely a 5 star in my eyes. Comment: Inventory was severely limited so I ended up paying 3x what I had expected from my research on the website that morning. He gave me a decent discount. The vehicle was luxurious but needed washer fluid and the notification went off all the time. Customer service was fast and friendly. Do be patient with phone calls as there is usually only one person in the front office. I will definitely rent from them again but hopefully Ill be able to make a reservation ahead of time. I love that they give you a ride home so one can leave the kids with a partner.

Whereas, with Budget, I was forced to reserve three times in one morning, which still ended with no rental car. Enterprise, youre my new rental place.

Comment: The team at this location was great. Our truck broke down while on a mini vacation and the car dealership recommended this location for our needs. Amber greeted us with a smile and tried to accommodate our needs with the available inventory that she had at the moment...mind you it was 15 minutes before they closed on a Friday night. Amber never let you feel like it was the end of their day. I have rented from other Enterprise locations in the past and have been treated the same at all. Professional yet humble. I would recommend this location.

Comment: I had a reservation to rent a car on friday at 5pm I got there at 4:45 they found my reservation BUT informed me they did not have a car for me!!! My reservation was basically useless they told me. ISNT THAT WHAT THEY DO RENT CARS???? They told me they would call me in about an hour to hopefully have a car for me. They never called and when I called them they informed me they did NOT have a car nor would they have one the next day for me!! HORRIBLE customer service! DONT RENT a car from this place if you are planning on going on a trip, they ruined mine, I was planning on going to Manhatten Beach for three days. Luckily I was able to rent a car at the last minute elsewhere

Comment: My father rented a truck for 9 hours and was charged $390.41 plus fuel from Santa Maria to Anaheim (226 miles). He called twice for an explanation and no return calls. He wrote and faxed a letter to this branch and after 28 days he has not received a response. Customer service is horrible. This is the worst experience visiting the happiest place on earth.

Comment: I do a lot of repeat business with this center and really WANT to like them and be happy, but it is getting tougher and tougher...and more and more frustrating.I had an issue with a rental and the manager immediately offered me a free 2-class upgrade on my next rental. That was nice, but when I showed up only a few days later for my next rental—they didnt upgrade me (not available). Definitely leave you feeling that the free upgrade offer is just a way to appease and make you go away when there was an issue.When I made the second rental, I said I dont care what kind of vehicle, as long as theres blue tooth. The car I got had no blue tooth. I point this out. Response: not available.Lately (and suddenly), when I pick up a car, theyre not providing it gassed up—only a quarter of a tank. Their remark is well, you only have to refill it to a quarter of a tank. When I have to drive ~150–200 miles in a different car every time, how do I know how much gas I have to put in????Ive become so frustrated with the lack of follow through and sloppy execution that I think I have to go somewhere else, despite the fact it will cost more. :(

Comment: I love Enterprise. They offer very good customer service, the staff is highly courteous and professional, they offer pick up service and they dont rely on good credit to rent out cars. I have a friend who was turned down from another company (Avis, I believe), because he doesnt have good credit at this time---thats ridiculous in my opinion. There are hard working people out there who are honest and responsible but have had a bad streak of luck and for a rental car company to contribute to their financial oppression, that is pretty bad. Not Enterprise, they are good all the way around.

Comment: I used to always rent from Avis, Never again. For the past few years I have gone with enterprise and have been fairly happy. The 250 deposit was a bit steep and due to that there were a few time I was unable to rent. But now its only the cost or the rental and a 100 deposit which again is a bit steep, but it gives me a little more wiggle room. Now Avis only charges the cost of the rental with no deposit needed, BUT they do a credit check. I have not built any credit, and I will never get a credit card as the interest will kill you, and if you cant pay the bill.......... Thats how people get in debt, and I have enough debt for the trucking school i went to But over all I am fairly happy with enterprise. Now only if the rates were lower and maybe a free day or two on a rental, Then I would be Very happy. I would love to work for enterprise as an employee too.

Comment: I love Enterprise Rent A Car and the awesome Customer Service they always provide. I have used them a lot in the past and for my old job where I worked because we had an account with them and they always were great and professional. I needed to go out of state on an emergency and I only have a prepaid card and no other rental car places in the area would except it! I was very upset and the last company I spoke with said no one will rent to me. I called Enterprise and asked them if they rent with a prepaid card and Robert said yes! I was so happy and went it and got a truck and was able to go where I needed to go! They are awesome and I will never rent from another company again!!!! Even if my insurance tries to refer me some where else. I will stay loyal to them because of their great customer service!!!
