Comment: They always treat me great on Main st in Visalia caMake a lot of trips to Vegas to see family but lately making trips to bring food to my son in laws church. Everyone next to the church is section 8.When I go in they ask if I am taking more food I tell them yes they always up grade me to a SUV. Im renting again this Tuesday this time to go and relax at the Golden Nugget I hope they upgrade me to a nice car.Thank YouFred Crumrine.

I was extremely impressed but also extremely grateful for their help. Truly the best experience I’ve ever had with a rental company. I think it matters who you’re dealing with and this location was by far the most helpful and impressive customer service I’ve ever experienced. I rented from time to time to visit my son and grandkids and they were nice but what they did to cut out my loyalty to them can never be replaced. Comment: This time I would say it was a bad experience. Carissa the manager was rude and irritated. My insurance requested a small car. She only had mid-size cars. She insisted on charging me for it. Then was upset I brought it back because of mechanical issues and it was filthy inside and out.Then she still did not abide by my insurance company rental policy on car size on the exchange. She charged me again. This time the car was cleaner but not very clean. Still sticky inside and out of gas.I do not care for the rude comments about my deafness. It was an inconvenience to follow the deaf protocol of eye contact and make sure I could lip read because no one could use American sign language.

Comment: I called the reservation center and arranged for a car of my choice, but while enroute, was contacted by the specific office and told they didn’t have the size I asked for, nor the next size down. I was forced to get an upgraded size which was not needed and it cost more. There needs to be much better communication between the reservation center and the specific offices. All other aspects of the rental, including the personnel was great!

Comment: I had car trouble in Norco CA, and brought my car to a local repair shop. I called Enterprise for a rental and was told I need to have a two hour advance reservation to get a ride from the shop. Since the location was just half a mile away I decided to walk to the Enterprise location only to be told upon arrival that they had no cars available. I then asked if they had another location close by, and was told Corona was the closest. They did not offer any assistance getting to the Corona office, so I started to call an Uber when it occurred to me to ask it they would mind checking with Corona to see if they had any cars. The unimpressive Enterprise agent then said I just got off the phone with them a couple of minutes ago and they were also out of cars. I looked at him and said yet you were going to let me go there without telling me that. He just stared at me. I know every company has people that do not meet the standards expected by the company, but my next 5 rentals will be from Hertz.

I understand this is a corporate entity and overbooking is common practice but it shouldnt be. Change your system and stop inconveniencing people. Comment: Everything was good, until I returned the car and was told that I had been charged about $30,00 per day for insurance. The rental agreement didnt have any prices listed. I dont remember hearing the Rep saying what the cost of insurance would be. I have a policy that covers any vehicle I drive, fully. I pay about $3.00 a day for two automobiles. If I had known the cost of Enterprises insurance before I agreed to take the extra coverage I wouldnt have had a problem. I used to rent cars from Enterprise when I lived in the San Jose, Ca. area over 20 years ago. I always knew what I would be paying, before I took the car.

Spoke to the woman at the front who proceeded to tell us that there were no available cars when we arrived in possession of our reservation order. For 5 minutes she proceeded to give us the run around, knowing we were stranded there with no vehicle. All of a sudden I mention to call Tulare as I have rented with enterprise numerous times. All of a sudden there is a magic car available? What??? Employee Manuel and other employees were just trotting around very consumed by their Starbucks beverages and gossip amongst each other. As I read previous reviews I see that this place has numerous issues. Where has customer service and professionalism gone these days? Shame.Edit!!! They left us to walk home in 105 weather because our car rental won’t be ready until tomorrow morning! How embarrassing for this company’s name.

Comment: I was just there this morning, 8-3-21 arrived at 8:20AM. I had a priority pass through my insurance and it stated they would meet me at body shop(4 min away from Enterprise on Main St). They weren’t there when I arrived at body shop so I got transportation from body shop to Enterprise. When I arrived, gentleman who greeted me stated he was going to go look for a vehicle. Being that I had the priority pass I was under the impression they would have RESERVED a vehicle for me. But no, took like 29 min for gentleman to “find a vehicle.” While I was waiting another gentleman greeted a woman who arrived after me and quickly found her a vehicle(Chevy spark), woman stated she didn’t want that vehicle, THAT gentleman took another vehicle (Toyota Corolla) and gave it to that woman who arrived after me and I ended up with the Chevy spark. Very unprofessional for that gentleman to go and take another car when he had a car ready for that woman who arrived after me. First of all a car should of been reserved or at least I should of had priority due to having a reservation. Second that man should not have switched the car. I’m very disappointed on today’s experience. The gentleman helping me did offer for me to call another day and see if they have different vehicles, however, I work full time and cannot be taking time off to go switch vehicle. It’s very inconvenient

Comment: I do not recommend them. The car i rented was in good shape but the customer service is one of the worst things Ive experienced. They messed up our reservation the first time, which happens no biggie, so we scheduled it for the next week at 8am. So the next week rolls around and i turn my car in to be repaired and head on over. The line was long and no one was helping so I decided to call and just double check if my reservation was still good. They almost made me cry.They told me that we never confirmed a time. Even though we did and that i would have to wait an hour to get a car. When i told them i had confirmed it for 8am and that i had to go to work . The guy just said well you didnt call With absolutely no empathy at all. They already had messed up our reservations the first time so i explained that I know we set a time because the reservations had been messed up the first time so we wanted to make sure this time it was all good. They confirmed the time with us. The guy just got irritated and told me i have to wait an hour and that I never confirmed it. Missing a work shift may be no big deal to them but they almost caused me to miss my shift at work and to me thats a big deal when I dont get a lot of hours and need the pay. Empathy would have gone a long way in the situation. Talking down and making me feel like they didnt care was a huge punch in the gut.

Comment: For years my experience with Enterprise was ok but this last time I went in to pick up a reserved car because my car was in shop and I had to make it to work my experience was bad. I got there and gave the man my license and debit card keep in mind that my license was only a month old and was a CA Real id/license which require strict proof to get. After a few minutes he tells me they cant verify my address so that he would need 2 utility bills so I handed him 2 recent utility statements with same address as my license. After a few minutes he comes out and tells me that the statements needs to show a zero balance. At first I thought he was joking but after staring at him for a few seconds I realized I wasnt getting the rental. Ended up walking home and having to miss work. Emailed Enterprise to let them know what happened and they never responded.

Comment: I rented a small SUV on Thursday and wanted to return it Saturday. The caveat was, theyre only open until noon on Saturday and closed on Sunday.One person gave me a discount, because I belonged to AAA; she also told me I could drop the car off Saturday, there was a parking lot across the street where i could check it in. When I went in to fill out paperwork, not only did the Enterprise not honor AAA, there wasnt a drop off lot. So I had to pay rent for Saturday and Sunday and bring it in on Monday.Unfortunately I felt like I was held hostage because of their policy; and I had to pay extra rent (full price) without a senior citizen discount, no AAA discount and no drop off lot. And who was the lady that gave me a discount and told me about the drop off?Im disturbed that theres no flexibility with this company.

Comment: Company rented me a 4x4 to go to Reno for the week right after Christmas and had to return the day after new years day because they wouldnt be open new years which was a Friday. So on a Saturday they were only open from 9am to 12pm. Thats right only 3 hour window to return the vehicle. Missed the close by 10min and couldnt get ahold of anyone from enterprise till almost 1 and was told the only thing I could do was drive 45miles to the only other open enterprise in the area and would have to pay a 75$ fee for them to accept me dropping it off and find my own ride back.

Comment: Outstanding Service. We rented a car in Saint George Utah to visit family in California. No fault to Enterprise the vehicle we rented just didn’t fit our needs. We went by the Visalia location and asked them to help us by exchanging the vehicle for something a bit bigger. They listened to our request and accommodated us without charging us any additional drop fees. To add to our pleasure, the representative (Keileen) personally cleaned the vehicle above our expectations. I am very grateful for the excellent customer service and treating us like we matter. This is something you just can’t find at a discount car rental company. We use Enterprise for all our business and personal travel and will continue do so in the future. Comment: The following was written to my car insurance company.We had a very poor experience with our rental car company.We were provided a car quickly and with little stress considering the situation.The car smelled terrible. It reeked of cigarette smoke and greasy food. It was so bad that we only drove with the windows down, we bought ( and used an entire bottle of ) Febreeze and 2 car air fresheners.In two weeks, the smell never left. We returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas ( as required).There was a long line on the day we went to return the vehicle. After waiting for 25 minutes, my husband handed the keys to a staff member and asked what else needs to be done. He was told he would receive an email receipt. Today, 2 days later, he received a call telling him that we would not get our 50.00 deposit back because of pet hair. The vehicle was clean.It is very frustrating to lose so much money over supposed animal hair. My husband told them how bad it smelled. They said it smells fine now. It probably does smell better after an entire bottle of Febreeze. It is ridiculous service to charge someone 50.00 for a dog hair when a vehicle was nauseating to smell.A smelly car is fine. But, then dont charge me 50.00 for supposed hair.

Comment: Our car renter of choice has always been Enterprise, yet with our last experience it is likely we will look elsewhere in the future. Upon arrival, the car which was selected for us had several concerns. In a walk through there was a dent that was missed that we almost was charged. The floor mat was missing and it was dirty on the inside whereby sand was all over on seats and on the center console. The car was returned for these issues and given in todays climate of cleanliness being important it was disappointing to watch what appeared to be a quick clean where only a vacuum was used. Makes you concerned what else was missed. The drivers seat seemed to have what felt like a broken bar in which it was uncomfortable to drive much less for a significant period of time. After the third visit of taking this car back, we were unable to obtain a new car until we agreed to an upgrade paying more out of pocket where we were able to finally leave for our trip. These issues caused significant delays and frustration which made our trip not as enjoyable as it should have been.

Comment: First time I rented a car the service was ok, the agent that helped me was very friendly and he seem knowledgeable, the car rental wasnt great, car was dirty inside and smelled like someone had smoke in it, they tank was not full but they were diligent to point that out and told me that I did not have to bring it full, for a day rental I just went with it. The second time the car was better, cleaner but again it wasnt full of gas, I had never rented a car that wasnt full, I dont know if they are hoping the next client will bring it full so they can pocket the overpriced rate from the previous customer, it really looked unprofessional not to have the car full. On my return I requested a ride home, they told me it would be 10 minutes so I sat down in the waiting area, 30 minutes passed and they still havent got me a ride, I was in a hurry and I couldve arranged something else but I believed they were going to take me home promptly, sadly I was mistaken. Comment: I reserved a Premium SUV (Suburban) for a trip i was taking and when I went to pick up they gave me a Tahoe. When you make the reservation online they are in different categories and priced different. I was told they were giving the similar vehicle. because i had no time to find anything else i had to make my trip with no room for luggage. I was unable to take some if our luggage and forced to pile some on my adult passengers. This made for a very uncomfortable 8 hour drive. Then when on the day i was supposed to return the vehicle the instrument panel went and and needed to get it towed back. Customer service on the phone tried to help me get in the vehicle that i reserved but when i arrived at a dealerships to switch onto the correct vehicle they said i could not and was stuck in the this very uncomfortable situation. I will never use Enterprise again and recommend you not to either. if it wasnt for the customer service people on the phone that tried to help me I would give a -5 startsAfter a month of attempts to reach out to Enterprise and to try and talk to a manager or to call me back as I was told would happen, there was still no response. Staff were very courteous and, despite the Covid 19 situation, gave me a ride both ways--with only myself as passenger in the shuttle van.However, I was not aware that Enterprise (and maybe other rental companies) seem to routinely overcharge insurance companies. I checked my car out a few minutes before 8 am on a Thursday, and returned it a few minutes past 8 am on Friday, The invoice was for 2 days instead of one day that I had expected. When asked, the agent said that regular customers rent for a 24 hour period, but insurance companies have an arrangement to rent and pay per calendar day. I found this unusual, bit apparently that is how the industry does it.

If you plan on leaving early in the morning on a trip, I suggest renting the night before because in the morning they are beyond slow and cars are not clean. The cleaning takes about an hour. If you are in need of being picked up or dropped off, request at least an hour early.

I went to enterprise in Visalia and got everything ran but when he ran my card it was denied. Comment: I reserved a car for pick up after 11am on Orbitz. I had my confirmation. We showed up at 2:30 coming from Nevada and on our way to Three Rivers. Enterprise gave away my car saying that I was a no show because I didn’t show up within 30 minutes of the 11am time. They had a pick up available but would not honor the price of my reservation. They even told me that it was like a doctors office.... if you don’t show up you lose your spot. I asked why no one called before giving my car away. The manager said that they would be on the phone all day if they called all of the reservations that didn’t show up on time. I have never had a problem with Enterprise before. We have been renting from them all the way across the country and have not had a problem. Terrible customer service at this store.

All was well until I went to pick up the car. All of a sudden I wasnt good enough to rent from Enterprise anymore. A new general manager decided that my job wasnt a real job. Im a Caregiver with In-Home Supportive Services. He referred to it as an entitlement program, like welfare. I filed a W4. I clock in, and clock out. Im paid a paycheck. Taxes, Social Security, and all that are deducted from my pay. Im in the union. Oh, but its not a real job. I left the building frustrated and humiliated beyond words. We host guests from all over the world who come to visit the Sequoias, many traveling by RV are not aware of the vehicle limits. Comment: I love Enterprise.... but NOT this location! I was harassed by phone several times a day while using the car to seek medical treatment. Money was taken randomly out of my bank account and I finally turned the car in when they threatened me with further action when ALL that was outstanding was 50 dollars and they could have taken that payment like they did the others and at ANY time. Im paying more for a cab and uber services rather than have to deal with such unprofessional folks.... enterprise works hard to keep a good reputation and this branch blows it for them!**** update!! I was put on the do not rent list! This review was mentioned and I was made to believe the reason why I was put on said list. Then after sending me a paid receipt tried to say I owed a balance. I have EVERY email they sent and EVERY phone message but none ever saying I had a balance and I have a zero balance receipt. I called corporate and luckily Im only on the central valleys list! LOL my husband is buying me a car to tow behind my rv because of all of this hassle so thanks for attempting to harm me.... Comment: I had a reservation for a compact vehicle. When they gave me the car, the associate said it was ready to go. We checked around the vehicle and then he handed me the keys. When I sat inside, the vehicle had the tire pressure light on. I went back inside to tell the associate and he said we will check on it, and turns out there was a nail in the tire. I don’t understand why the associate, who drove the car to the front, did not say anything about the tire pressure light on. It could have been a really bad situation if I didn’t say anything. The staff was friendly about it and gave me an upgrade, but they need to pay attention to detail.

I drive 18 wheelers and cannot book way in advance, and it was a lot of trouble to try to get to where we could get a car here, then, they said wed be on a waiting list. I dont think Id give enterprise 1 star but for people with the same concerns I hope this review can reach them. Theres a lot I could have done with my day if I knew the rental was going to be a problem. Now, my wife and I are canceling our hopes to sail the San Francisco bay, and may have to resort to watching a movie. Id made other plans if I knew yesterday that I couldnt get a car on time.

She tried to pay for the reservation with her own credit card and they wouldnt let her. They said the person picking up the car had to do it. So, after they picked me up and I got there they told me I needed a pay stub and utility bill. I dont carry those things around with me, so I asked if I could show them my direct deposit from my online banking and they said no. I pulled up my current electric bill and they wouldnt accept that, either. Receptionist was rude and unhelpful and I ended up without a car. Rent elsewhere.

Comment: HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION!!!! This location constantly told me different things depending on who I talked to. I had to fight to get a rental the day I needed it. My car was in service and the warranty group and service place had called them to set up my reservation. The first guy completely dropped the ball on it and the service center had to call them again to get this going. When I arrived there I asked for the manager and he said I had 4 days approved for the rental. When I returned the car I was told I would get the $50 deposit back in the next day or so. I checked and still hadnt received it over 5 days later so I called to check up. They said they held it because I was only approved for 3 days. My car was done Friday but I didnt have a ride to help me drop.off rental and get my car, but I could have figured out a way had I known it was due back Friday. Finally got a hold of someone and they did return my deposit on the car but again I was told several things. I will also be complaining to the main company... very disappointed.

Comment: This was the worst experience I have ever had renting a car.The problem was not so much with Enterprise, I loved the company, but with the Enterprise branch on 1040 E Main St Visalia, CA. I may never rent from them again.My problem was with their Debit-Card policy and how they treated me with such distrust and disdain. They told me I needed to prove I could pay for the car before they would let me rent it using my Debit Card. Even though I wanted to (and eventually did) pay for the full coverage insurance (doubling the cost of the rental) they still made me go home (40 mile round trip) to get a mortgage statement and pay stub. The manager actually said, in case you keep the car for longer, we need to know you can pay for the extra days. I could have thrown the car into a ditch and their costs would be covered because I paid for the full coverage insurance. He just did not want to rent to me.When I returned with both of those documents, they rejected me again because the mortgage statement had the mailing address for my accountant (my son), not my home. However, my home address was on the statement -- they still made me go home again to get a doctor bill. Why I had to show them my medical record I will never know.I started this process at 8:00 AM on September 30, 2016 and did not get the car until 1:00 PM. I actually missed my daughters wedding rehearsal because of this. She was very disappointed.I think they took one look at me, a 75 year old Hispanic farm worker with old cloths and scraggly hair, and decided that I was not capable of fulfilling my side of this bargain.This was the worst experience of costumer serve I have ever had. I was lied to by her,she told me i had to have insurance and pay out of pocket when i was in there for a rental due to a car accident, she knew but still made me get it! Then once the car scent wore off, there was a horrible smell, like someone smoked pot inside the vehicle. When I arrived the next day, the representative could not believe I was actually rented out that vehicle. Gave me a 15% discount which was better than nothing. Comment: The Jeep patriot I rented was a nice vehicle, very comfortable and clean. The people who work at the enterprise I rented from were friendly, but the system to be waited was terrible. There were so many people waiting to be helped in a very small space and the confusion of who was next was disturbing. There needs to be a number system or a sign in sheet at the front desk. There were several employees but only about 2 seemed to be helping the many people waiting while the rest sat in the back or just walked around. I would definitely consider trying a different rental company for convenience.

Comment: Rented a compact car, ended up with a Hyundai Accent, decent car, just no cruise control...minor issue. Had to rent from Visalia location because Tulare office would not match same rate from Visalia location, slight transportation problems, but much happier with customer service at Visalia location. After second day traveling on freeway at normal conditions engine started losing power and pulled to side of hwy. Just after hours, called and was connected to roadside assistance, that was a two hour ordeal that lasted four hours trying to secure a ride and replacement car, ending up being put into a Kia Rio, an economy model WITH cruise control. Got rid of it the next day, again happy with the Visalia location, not so much with whole company.

Comment: Service was really slow, which was understandable, it was a Friday afternoon. What prompted me to give such a low review was the service. The worker was rude and, frankly, pretty snobby. I was given a rental car through the other peoples insurance however enterprise gave me a more expensive vehicle than the insurance would pay for and didnt tell me so i had to go back and exchange the vehicle. However they still just took the money out of my account for the car i never asked for. Be Careful Using This Place!!!!!!!!
