Comment: Christian and Garret at Hillsdale were pleasant and provided great customer service. I drove off in one car and wasn’t happy with it and asked if I could come back to trade it. They happily obliged and changed my reservation to the lower price that reflected the car I got without hesitation. Also appreciate their pick up and drop off service, even without my insurance paying the fees as this wasn’t an auto collision rental. Other rental car companies will only do that to an auto body shop. Thanks Ed for the ride!

Comment: Our insurance company set us up with Enterprise and given this was the closest to the dealer shop, we went with Enterprise.We rented a Chevy Malibu that smelt like smoke....I aired it out and it still smoked like smoke, not the locations fault and something to do with the actual vehicle but a heads up to avoid Malibus if you are a non-smoker.We wouldnt care except my partners works in the operating room as a health care professional and I meet clients consistently so you can image why thats not a good thing.So I called and unfortunately they didnt have any cars nor did any enterprise location within a 10 mile radius.Nonethless, the vehicle got me from point a to point b and they also picked me up and dropped me off from the dealership.Their managers and staff were also super professional and went above and beyond. Thanks guys!

There werent many options to choose from with being restricted with the insurance. Mark assisted me along the way and made it happen to rent a vehicle that was a similar size to mine. Was sure to accommodate and make it happen before I left. They also provide a shuttle service to take you to your destination within the area upon dropping off the vehicle.

Terrible customer service experience, a rude agent that was demeaning and condescending.I had called the customer support line and asked to speak to a regional manager three separate times after not receiving the promised call back from them. And still haven’t had anyone follow up with me- very, very frustrating.I always used enterprise in the past and had a great experience but now the company has changed. Not the same quality and customer support as before. Sad to see they lost their family customer values. Will not be using them again.

Comment: Overall experience was ok. I was notified that the type of car (premium crossover SUV) I selected was not available the night before, and was given a discount because of this. It’s unclear if the discount matched the class of vehicle I received because the Chevy Equinox does not feel relatively close to the VW Atlas. Overall, the car drove fine but was not “premium” in any way.The car did not appear to be cleaned to the degree one would expect during COVID (e.g. curly fries and loose napkins in places). Given how enterprise advertises its latest policies, it was a bit disappointing to see the mess and made me question if proper procedures were followed. I didn’t have time to raise it with the branch manager because I was time constrained, but that’s probably an area to improve on.Reed was very helpful and friendly.

Comment: This by far was the worst rental we had, i rented a 12 seater passenger on September 3-7 at San Mateo hillsdale location. Right when we arrive to pick up the rental, we had to wait for an hr because the van was not ready and wasn’t clean they had reed or reese had to vacuum the van because it was full of sand. He said it has been sitting there for a while now. After they finished the van had alot of water stain on every seat it was filthy there was still alot of sand on the floor and seat. We had no choice but to take it because there’s no available 12 seater anywhere in the area. And so he went around the car to check if everything was good and he said it was. I dont know much about cars and so i trusted what he said, while driving back home with the van low tire pressure went on and washer level was low. I called to let them know and reed or reece told me to stop by at the gasoline station to add air and water for windshield. I waited until the next day to do so because i had work. So the day that we were leaving, we stopped by at the gasoline station to add air and there was a big nail !!! It was so inconvenient i called and reed/reece answer again and told me to call enterprise near by to see if there any spare 12 seater for me to get and there was none!!! So he told me to go to firestone to have it fixed and he will give me $100 off. That was not enough for what we went thru we had 2 infants and it was very hot to be waiting for 1hr and a half at firestone, mind you 11 of us are waiting there to have the van fixed in the afternoon! I asked reed/reece if it was safe to drive and if everything was good he assured me that it was. That was the worst experience that me and my family had to go thru with a rental car. And when we returned it no one was in the office because i guess it was labor day so we had to drop off the key at the drop box BUT the office was open we waited inside for almost an hr, why would you leave the office open. Worst experience ever!!!!

I had booked a convertible for 4 days a week in advance via a third party app. The booking was successful but the day before the trip I get a call that no convertibles are available!! On insistence the rep said theyll try and figure some thing out and hour or so later called again to confirm that we will get car so so far meh ..On the day, I am at the store on time and the rep tells me that there is a problem with my account related to some unpaid charges! I tried get more info but to no avail the rep doesnt have enough info to tell me anything useful at all. In an attempt to salvage my trip at the very last minute I figured I should call the hotline to find out more about this unpaid charge. After 40 mins of holding and being forwarded to different phone operatives the charges were cleared and the rep was able to give me the car. ( this may not be a store specific issue but enterprises record keeping ) ... sadly it doesnt end there.In between the trip the car shows low on engine coolant and being concerned about the general condition of the vehicle and our safety we decided to call enterprise and try to work out a solution. They asked us to get the car to a nearby service center and get the coolant topped off which we did but it took close to 2 hours! Apparently there was no problem .. BMWs are a little tricky.. But thankfully we were on our way again. Finally the trip comes to an end I am a little late to return the car but after reaching this place it took 20 mins to get to my turn because there was only one representative in the whole facility and 5 customers. At my turn I explained all that had happened but the rep took 40 mins to inspect everything and at the end concluded to charge me an extra hour for being late!Overall Id say that this place is a bit understaffed and there are a bunch of things enterprise could improve with their customer experience

Recommended Dodge Grand Caravan was the best choice to load and unload surf boards etc. Next day, I went there with my husband. Nathan helped us. First off, it wasnt the vehicle I expected, I expected a Chevy Suburban, I received a Ford Expedition. They said that Enterprise isnt purchasing Chevy Suburbans any longer. Although when I stopped across the bay to have my daughter signed up as an addition driver they only had Chevy Suburbans and not Ford Expeditions. But they didnt have one available to swap. The vehicle had on 1/4 tank of gas in it so I had to immediately fill it with gas before I could leave for my trip. The vehicle had not been washed so it was dirty and although it had been vacuumed the seats were dirty and the vehicle had a funky smell.

Comment: I had an overall pleasant experience at this Enterprise San Mateo branch. Renting a car early in the morning, we were warmly welcomed and greeted by the staff. I was immediately accommodated and we went through the rental process with ease. Returning the car for dropoff during closed office hours was also a breeze. Just park the rental, and drop off the key at their secure chute outside.If I were to return to the Bay Area and would need a car rental near SFO, I would return to this branch.

Comment: This was my first time renting from Enterprise (I normally rent from Avis) and I had a mixed experience. My gas was recorded as half when in fact it was 1/4. The local team didnt use my existing reward number but created a brand new number (even though I gave them my number). I called & emailed to highlight the issues but no one responded. The team are friendly but I left this site with mixed feelings.

Comment: I have some health problems so I called ahead and made my concerns very clear to the staff. They noted it in the file and when I went to pick up a car, they were on top of things, even letting me check inside to make sure it would be okay for me before signing off.I knocked off a star because I had arranged for them to pick me up at my home but they were 40 minutes late.

Comment: Enterprise has always been very accommodating, quick and easy check-in and out services. Unfortunately, I dont understand their over charges on toll fees when you are using FasTrak...I always seem to get double billed weeks later by Enterprise even after I add the vehicle onto my account!This is the only downside.

Comment: Very helpful and courteous staff. Now attempting another rental requiring 4wd vehicle... They cant guarantee a 4wd vehicle but hoping they can come through in the clutch. Office and lot a bit run down (gravel lot) but I dont need fancy, just a car to rent.

Comment: Rented a car over the weekend to drive down to Monterrey. Called ahead by a couple of days and I have a frequent flyer account, so they made it very easy and fast to get in and out both on the pickup and delivery. They even looked up my account when I couldnt produce my card. The weekend rate was outstanding; the car was in very good shape. Everything should go this smoothly.

Comment: I have been an Enterprise loyal for quite a few years now. The overall service I received till date is always very good. The only improvement area I would suggest is that the Road Side Assistance wait time is too long these days. In one of my recent experiences I waited around 15-20 mins! This needs to be addressed as a RSA is required in emergency and if it is addressed late people tend to become upset/impatient.

Comment: I am highly disappointed in the lack of communication with their customer service. I came to rent a car on Friday for only 1 day use and I was about to be charged for 3 days!!! The Rep was nice but his lack of detail his disturbing. I brought the car back at 12:35 p.m. I was never told that this location was close at noon. The counter person DID NOT SAY ANYTHING.. I mention this to the manager and all he said was : read the contract or the sign on the door Thats the best he had to offer. The Manager charged me for a extra day. He would not budge and charge only the one day. I am signed up for Channel 7 and going after my extra day that I was duress to pay. If I knew the car needed to be there at Noon.. I would of been there, but there was NOTHING mention of that. The manager was rude and not compassion to my needs. Channel 7 here I come.. this is only the beginning.
