Comment: Used their service department to repair an issue I had with the electrical in my vehicle. Aside with not communicating that they needed more time than initially estimated, the service advisor mistakenly recorded over 120 k mileage on my vehicle when currently it sits at 72 k miles. In situations where warranty is covered under a certain mileage one can claim illicit business practice. Although the repair was completed, this dealer would deny any other possible warranty work due to “Mileage Gap” from covered mileage to “recorded” mileage. Luckily the service center in the city of Industry caught this and did not let me walk away from warrantied work. I will update once warrantied labor is complete and will look up service receipts to report to their corporate. Be careful and always verify what they record on your vehicle because that info may affect your right to not pay for warrantied work.

I took my car back for the agreed service and after holding my car for 5 days they still have not completed the service and are trying to charge me for service that was included on the due bill. Comment: The salesman, Fernando, was very nice and communicated well with me. The sales manager tried to accommodate my requests but in the end did not. I requested the financial numbers be sent to me prior to driving 3 hours to get to the dealership but I did not receive them. When I arrived, I was told they were unable to remove a $1495 additional charge for Zurich Shield. After negotiating they gave me a $400 discount but would not remove the fee altogether. This is a prime example of hidden fees that the DOJ has been fighting against in regard to purchasing venue tickets. Hopefully, it will be applied to all purchases across the board, eventually. I also was informed that the corporate policy does not allow a credit card payment of more than $5000 which is a bit ridiculous when you consider the price of cars these days. I ended up buying the used car because it had all the features I wanted. When I left, I felt used and slightly confused. I would not go back to them to purchase another vehicle.

After being denied financing for a Toyota Grand Highlander at 2 different Toyota dealerships, by chance I met my friend Mr. TED General Manager of Toyota of West Covina who was a key player in the financing of my SUV and the one who convinced me to Coming to this dealership assuring me that here I would receive the help, time and attention that they did not give me in other dealers and that was the case. Mr. TED together with Mr. JESSIE, the seller, who is a very kind and attentive person who, apart from everything, treats you with respect and takes the time to answer the questions you have about what you are buying and each charge, each payment and guidance about How can you be qualified for financing without anything that could affect you, Mr. Hiep, staff from the financial part who also took the time to help me in the approval of my financing, really here they take the time to help you and not affect you without bad Treatments without discrimination. I have left a message with the business office, but I got no reply. I called today spoke to the receptionist, polite, young lady, but she did not know who the owner was. I doubt that the owner actually wants to talk to me. I only wanted to reach out to let him know how his business is being run as a courtesy. Comment: After placing an order for a Camry Hybrid SE that was supposedly in transit and putting down a LARGE down payment, I was left waiting for THREE MONTHS with little to no communication or updates from the dealership or my car sales representative. I had to personally contact him over the months to receive any sort of information about the vehicle. Every time I reached out for an update, I was met with vague responses and empty promises - including reassurances that the car would arrive soon and discounts on the car because of delays. I even visited the dealership in person to check on the status of the vehicle, only to be told that I received an excellent price and that there was nothing they could do until the vehicle arrived.Then, just when I thought the wait was nearly over because the vehicle had arrived on the rails, the bombshell dropped. My car sales representative informed me that the vehicle I had been patiently waiting for (for 3 months) was damaged and unavailable. He informed me that his manager “got an email from Toyota that the vehicle has damage and it won’t arrive.” I asked to see this email THREE times, only to be met with silence. He or the dealership did not offer me another vehicle or ANY sort of compensation, but insisted on canceling our deal and a refund. The level of incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction is beyond comprehension.To add insult to injury, throughout the ordeal, my sales representative repeatedly tried to upsell me on more expensive cars (THREE TIMES), insinuating that the deal I had initially secured was too good to be true. Its clear that their primary concern was squeezing as much money out of me as possible, regardless of my needs or preferences.To make things right, I had to personally go into the dealership and demand to speak to a sales manager. After some pushing, I was finally shown an email indicating that the car I purchased had indeed been damaged and was no longer available. Again, there was no offer of compensation until I demanded that a vehicle of the same trim would be reserved for me. Lo and behold, there was suddenly a vehicle available, which they could reserve for me.To the credit of the manager, he did provide me a small discount due to the LONG 3 month wait, inconvenience, and lack of communication. He was even able to provide a lower interest rate than previously agreed on. He honored the original price and made the appropriate changes - he also reserved the vehicle for me in their system. The vehicle was set to arrive in 3-4 weeks, adding ANOTHER MONTH of waiting.I was almost pleased with the whole ordeal and thought they had made up for their awful customer service; HOWEVER, despite lowering the cost of the vehicle and a lower interest rate, I was curious why my monthly payments would be HIGHER than what I originally agreed on. After looking over the numbers, I noticed that someone (I don’t know who) at the dealership had changed the price of the extended warranty I had originally purchased and agreed on. The price listed for the warranty was $995 more than what I agreed on previously. The look on the manager’s face was almost comical when I brought this up to him - he knew that I knew; he immediately changed the price of the warranty back to our original agreement. Only then, did the numbers add up correctly.The new vehicle did arrive on time, and I was immediately notified when it landed. I was able to pick it up the same day and it is in excellent condition; however, I cannot express how unsatisfied I am with this whole experience. Overall, I had to wait FOUR MONTHS for my vehicle. My sales rep and the dealership displayed a lack of integrity and professionalism. I urge anyone considering doing business with this dealership to steer clear. Save yourself the headache and find a reputable establishment that values and communicates with its customers.

Comment: I am an out of state buyer. I contacted the dealership and Fernando answered the call. I inquired about a vehicle and its availability. It was available, so I asked about and out the door price. I was then contacted by Mr. Hector Sanchez. After being informed of a 1495.00 add on that wasnt listed anywhere on Car Guru, I made the decision to accept the terms. I asked Mr. Sanchez about me bringing in my own financing, he informed me that a hard credit inquiry would be needed. I rethought the transaction, but I called back to make a cash transaction. Mr. Sanchez informed me that the dealership policy is, because I was not in the dealership physically, I still needed to fill out a credit application online with a hard inquiry, despite having a 1000.00 hold in the vehicle until Sunday morning when I would pick the vehicle up. A disappointing ending to the deal. I called back to talk to a manager regarding the deal and Fernando picked up, he forwarded me to a voicemail. I would have given a 1, but there was some flicker of customer satisfaction in the beginning.

I had perfect credit and they tried to charge 8.5% interest rate…. When I declined the offer and walked away, the finance manager (bald guy) asked to negotiate. He wanted to see proof I had an offer from another dealership. Once when I showed him the picture, he snatched my phone and started to read all of my messages with the person I was in contact with. I was appalled he was going through my personal cell phone. I walked away and never looked back. There are so many bad reviews on this dealership. Your money does not deserve to go to these people who treat customers this way. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They will try to scam you. Claremont Toyota helped me out and I was able to purchase the car of my dreams there.

He told told me that they would accept my offer. We went back in, filled out insurance and proposal paperwork with all numbers on it. Comment: Worst Mechanics Ever.I took my Prius that was getting 42 miles to the gallon. After spark plug change, battery coolant change, and oil change my mileage goes down to 38. Talked to Service manager-first thing tells me that 38 is normal mileage. I take it I a second time. They put it in the machine. His verdict nothing is wrong with the car. Now its down to 35. This is the gift that keeps on taking every time I fill my car. Either they did it on purpose or they are completely incompetent. My next step regional, the state of California, and if all else fail, I will fly to Japan. Envision Toyota of West Covina should not be in business. Save your money go to a real mechanic. This guys are the worst.

Comment: Dealership is very old looking. It could use a refresh. Its not as clean or nice as the Pasadena location. Staff are in customer service. The waiting area could use some cleaning. They offer free water and popcorn and coffee. I only come here for the convenience, but I prefer Pasadena Toyota better. For service, Juan Gonzalez is awesome. Plus, he is the Servicemanager. He will help you out with any questions or issues. He is worth coming here. He is very honest and upfront. Wont push services on you. Service communication could use some work

Comment: So we went in to test drive the Prius since Ive never driven one and honestly it looks like a good car. At first they said we could test drive one, but then we waited a good 10-15 minute sto get pricing first. At which point they indicated the car has a market adjustment. Then stated they cannot let us drive unless we were serious regarding the car. Kind of difficult if you cannot test drive the car?!? Anyways, market adjustments to prices around 10%, ridiculous. Monthly around 700-800 with 5k down. And guess what? Went to the Audi right next door with at MSRP vehicles and lower monthly and lower down. Plus the MSRP is higher. Dont recommend this Toyota dealership.

Comment: All of the bad reviews of this place are true. Came in for a Corolla advertised at $16,641. Appointment was set for a test drive and a VIP experience was promised. Already a red flag.We’re waiting to test drive the car and salesman tells us it’s in the Nissan lot and inaccessible during after hours, but there’s other cars available right now that we can test drive. So the very first interaction is a bait and switch. Nice. Red flag 2.They then claim the car is in high demand with multiple people trying to see it, but we can reserve it for $500-1000 refundable deposit and come back to see in Friday. Red flag 3.Next we’re notified of a NON-NEGOTIABLE $1,495 accessories package that they put on all cars. So the true price of this car is actually not the advertised $16,641, but actually $18,136. That’s not mentioned anywhere on the website and is a HUGE FTC violation. Red flag 4.The cherry on top was the sales manager coming out at the end telling us we actually needed to go under contract and finalize the car contract before proceeding further. Absolutely incredible asking people to buy a car sight unseen.Seriously just go to Longo Toyota. The difference is night and day.

I spend hours back and forth with him and when I finally tell him to email me the contract (I agreed to pay online but he wants me to drive 50 miles to come in person), he says that his “manager” told him the “out the door” price was $8000 (15%) more than the previously agreed upon MSRP, and they were going to “add” even more aftermarket accessories to up the price even more. I know he was hoping to pull this bait-and-switch in person, but couldn’t because I knew the car I was buying. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!! They are scammers.

Comment: Hello there,I am so disappointed with the service department and maybe this dealer in general.Reason I am writing this review is to state the ridiculous price I was about to be charge today for a simple fix.I had simple issue that needed to be addressed. Toyota wanted to charge me 555.00 for diagnostics plus what it took to repair the issue.I was able to fix the issue with 30 dollars and some mechanically incline skills I learned, and the issue was fixed.I cannot believe they were trying to charge me this insane amount. Service department didn’t even care to let me know why so much, and if there was anything else they can help with or even bothered speaking with me when picking up my SUV. I was so disappointed that even my wife was disgusted with the outcome.Would I recommended my family and friends here, HELL NO. I am still waiting on my fob key I got promised when I purchased my SUV last year, since it only came with one. I even paid the insurance for the FOB keys if you loose them or need to be replaced. Do yourselves a favor and look else where when purchasing or taking your car here for service. Maybe it was me today that I got the worst luck, but hopefully this sort of thing doesn’t happen to anyone.I’ll be posting the issue that I was able to fix.

I tried to put back, it fixed somewhat, not fully.I took to this dealer and they told me that it will cost 460 to place a new once. I did not claim the insurance since there is 500 deductible. So I decided to pay from my pocket.After a day I went to get my car and after looking at the mirror, it still had the scratches. So I asked the customer service, if the mirror is replaced then how come it has the same old cover. Now he came with the story that he changed the inside components. But the mirror was working before. Blind spot was working and I could adjust the mirror position electronically.After long heated discussion, the customer service promised to give a gas of tank for their mistake. But I told him that if you did not change the mirror, then he was charging for the new mirror.It was a long fight and arguments. I already spent more than one hour and it did look like that I will win the case with them. But somehow I wanted to teach these crooks a lesson not to steal !!So called Toyota customer supported and reported the case. I had to submit documents for evidence. Lucky I had all the photos taken for the insurance purpose.After a fight of 10 days, Toyota had agreed to return the full money that they stole from me.Advice: Never go to this dealer.Day time robbery !!

Comment: Do not go to this West Covina Toyota dealership!! The sales manager is very unprofessional and I dont trust him!! I came here to check out a used car and I almost bought it. The salesman (John) came to me with the paperwork for the final price breakdown and this is when I found out that there was a $1500+ for the “3 year Zurich protection plan” which I kindly declined, but was insisted on getting even though the car was used. After going back and forth we finally agreed on a price that I was willing to pay to include $500 towards that Zurich plan that I would not use anyways. When they found out that I was not financing through them and I gave John my Bank check, all of a sudden the price goes back up after recalculating the sales tax. I declined the price and the salesman sends me over to the sales manager (I didn’t catch his name, but he was a bald head male) to renegotiate once more. After agreeing again to the renegotiated price, they told me to fill out a credit application which I also declined. Why would I need to have them check my credit if I just gave them a bank check? The sales manager said that he didn’t trust my bank check and it could be a fake or that I could put a stop payment on it. I explained to him that there is a phone number to the bank on the front of the check that they needed to call to get authorization for funding. My bank check covered 94% of the cost for the car and I would pay the remaining 6% on my debit card once the bank funding was completed. When the sales manager found out that I was waiting for the bank funds to clear before paying the balance, he started cussing and dropping F-bombs to John about the situation. I was sitting not even 20 feet away from them when I heard them cussing back and forth. John came back to me with my bank check and I asked him why his sales manager was dropping F-bombs about me, he told me that was a discussion between them and not me. I felt disrespected by the sales manager!!!!! I grabbed my check from John and thanked him for his time and walked right out the door. I will never do business with an unprofessional sales manager or anyone for that matter!

Some dude named Fernando tells me that the car is on the lot and available. I tell him Im coming over to look at the car. I literally show up 10 minutes later and they tell me Fernando is busy and they had just sold the XLE model. They show me the premium model instead. Comment: I had bad experience with the service department that the oil change promotion on the website $59.99 for Synthetic Oil change is not what they charged when you bring your car in. I had a Camry 2013. I called to verify oil change promotion for my car and the representative assure me there are no other additional charge for my car Camry. I told the representative to put that price in writing for my appointment with William. When I brought my Camry in, William told me $79.99. I told William that I came with the appointment and you have the promotion $59.99 on the website. He spend a few minutes on the computer and told me that the basic is $59.99 and my car need to pay more. I didnt have that problem with Longo and Puente Toyota when I did the oil change for any additional cost. It already cost my time and effort to be there so I ended up paying total $76.89. Also, the phone representative said free car wash for my service but that was not true as well. I just want to warn the public that be aware to this Envision Toyota of West Covina!

Comment: I had a great experience here! Came on a weekday and plenty of easy parking.Came in and asked where the parts dept. was, and a gentlemen not only told me, but walked me over there. Then helped me look up any possible warranties on my vehicle. He walked all the way to my car, checked my vin, and let me know that Im eligible to get multiple warranty repairs on my vehicle, from paint, transmission and fuel injector!He then got the two parts I needed for my sunroof, and without me even asking for a discount, gave me a discount off the list price!I left with what I needed at a good price, and then some! By the way, the exceptional service was provided by Eric, he may already be a supervisor or manager, because he sure acted like one 👍

I loved that Andrew was so transparent about any costs I may have incurred if the issue I was having with my Camry wasn’t covered under my warranty. The times he gave me on my part arriving to the time the work would be completed were spot on! That’s very convenient when you’re a busy person like myself. When we arrived we checked the sticker same price they gave us a flyer same price. Took for a test drive loved the car said Ill take it. The. Was told we are going to mark it up at least 10,000.00 more because its a popular car. Bait and switch tried to get us to buy another one with custom interior but mark it used to ruin any new car tax advantages. This place is shady and noy trust worthy. You can’t trust a seller who marks up the car MRSP and then other seller tells different. One said 15k, the other said 10k additionally to the already $29,337 MRSP price. Horrible tactics to sell cars. I am still questioning the legality of such high increases. 2. They are the only dealer who are getting the 2023 cars ? 🤔 come’n men. Gotta do better. Comment: I had dropped off my sequoia for a recall regarding the windows. When I received it back the grease that was used was left on passenger door and panel as well as the driver seat. Panel to both driver and passenger door were both left loose and panel on driver side seat belt was broken and left loose. Seat belt locks and no longer works properly. I really regret taking it in for recall. Customer service and presentation was great til I received my vehicle back.

Comment: This store is too bad. When selling the car, they promised to send a set of car floor mats and two car keys. When picking up the car, they asked them what about the floor mats? And why is there only one key? The beauty said, The key company will send it to your home in about a month, and then the floor mat will call or send a message within a week to inform you to come and pick it up. But no one called or sent me a message after a week, I After waiting for two or three weeks, I sent a message and called them. They never responded or answered the phone. After two months, I didn’t receive another car key. I didn’t drive again until the car showed that it needed maintenance. This store does car maintenance. I stopped by and asked where my car keys and floor mats went. Then a car salesman told me to go in next Thursday and I could get my keys. I drove in on Thursday. I saw the woman before, so I asked her Why didnt you answer the phone or reply to the message? Everyone who went to pick up the car together heard what she said, since she denied it. So I continued to ask about the car keys and I said its been three months now when will I get my car keys? Then she asked the manager and the manager said let me pick it up next Wednesday and Im on time I sent them a message, and they said that the manager was sick and couldnt get the key. So it has been more than three months and I still havent seen my car keys.

Comment: I recently bought brand new rav4 prime. I asked Jesus if there were any EV rebates, you have to fill. He told me I have to do on my own. When I researched on SCE rebates. I found CALIFORIA CLEAN FUEL REBATE of $1500, that can only be done from point of sale ( by dealer). But unfortunately the dealer told me they dont participate in clean fuel program. They also didnt inform me of Toyota care items like free oil changes up to 25,000 miles. We figured with the amount of gas we were spending a month, we might as well buy a 2nd car.We stopped at the West Covina Plaza and saw an advertisement for Envision Toyota of West Covina, so we figured why not.We were greeted by Julian Robles and from the get go, we knew we were in business with him. He wasnt pushy, as you would expect salespeople to be. Instead he was friendly, and welcoming. He was all over the questions we had in regards to the 2022 Toyota Corolla SE. We took the one we eyed out on a test drive, and she drove smooth. White exterior, and black interior.Julian was all over the questions we had in regards to the vehicles warranty, performance. Weve visited a few dealerships from Cerritos, to Downey, and even El Monte, but the salespeople were disappointing when it came to answering our questions .Once we came back from the test drive, he ran our credit, and had David Porter, from financing come out to greet us. He looks intimidating and it literarily felt, like we were walking into the principles office. Thats just his appearance. David was great, and very patient with explaining financing to us. He was detailed about the APR and all of the documents we had to sign.By the time, we were done with financing, Julian had filled up our gas tank, had our car washed and placed a big red bow for pictures. Like I said, we werent planning to drive off with a car, as we had laundry day clothing on, so nope, we wont share the picture.I cant emphasize how much we hate car shopping, and feeling belittled by snobby salespeople, however, I would definitely come back to see these guys again.Oh, and not to mention, that Julian calls, and texts to check up on you as a customer to assure you are content with your purchase. Comment: My Toyota Camry hybrid was having an issue where it would not accelerate after coming to a stop. Wed have to shut the car off and put it in park and turn it back on again for it to accelerate. I spoke to Pat on the phone and he agreed to look at it first thing in the morning as I called a few minutes before they were closing. I brought the vehicle in, the service was fast and friendly. I waited a reasonable amount of time before the master technician came back and thoroughly explained the cause of the issue and the solution. Everything was done at a very reasonable price. Michael Diaz stated over the phone that it will be a markup of 5k for the car. When I went into the dealer, the mark up was 15k. Outrageous, vile, dishonest. Additionally, I stated to not run the credit application before negotiating the price, they run a hard inquiry without my consent as I was test driving the car. As I have driven many Toyotas, Envision Toyota of West Covina and many other Toyota dealerships have ruined my experience with the brand. I will no longer be looking into Toyota at this time. Honda dealer provides much better service and is true to their intentions.

Comment: First if all, it took them two weeks to ship my car and blamed me for the delay because I got a quote from a shipping company and shared it with them!! I am upset because I was overcharged for the shipping by $500, which was partially refunded to be because this dealership promised to pay for my flight to CA from FL to buy the car in person. So thats how they made up for that expense. I saw the shippers invoice because I had to sign when I received the car. Definitely not fair and I feel promises were broken. Im college student who was looking for a used car because my previous one broke down. I went to this dealership and found a decent car. It was a 2017 Corolla LE with 68,000 miles on it, it was going for 17,995. I told them I wanted it. I signed the papers for it and they told me it was mine and congrats on the purchase. Also they were going to be 9% interest rate, not the best but I badly needed a car. The salesperson came back and said bad news. They gave the car to another lady. I was like thats okay get me a car with equivalent value. They wanted to give me a 2013 KiaSoul. I said no find me a Toyota. After sitting in the waiting room for two hours nothing was done. I was very upset so I went to the managers room and themanager Rudy looked like he could care less. Theonly one that was decent help was Hiep Dinh. They told me they found a better Corolla, we went all around the lot and nothing was there. Turns out it was salvaged. More time wasted. The son of thedealership owner told me dont worry I will figure itout, Ill get you a better car. Two weeks later and no car. They told me to call them, I called once and they offered me a 2016 Ford Fusion with a lot of mileage or a 2013 Corolla. That is not a better car. They never reached out or nothing. I was really disappointed. I ended up buying a 0 mile 2022 Toyota Corolla with 3% interest rate at LongoToyota. I would highly recommend them, I got thecar almost same ending price from the 2017 Toyota Corolla that Toyota West Covina was offering me. I really hope you guys better your customer service because this was the worst experience I have dealt with as a buyer. Do better.

I was brought to the dealership under false pretense that the car I wanted was available and was told after I got there that the car was not on the lot and would be delivered later that night. I was then tricked into signing a contract and over the next few days I was lied to again and again that the car would arrive the next day. Finally, the day before I was set to leave the country for a deployment I finally was told the truth. The car was weeks away from being delivered. I went here to check out some cars with my sister who was buying her first car and had a set cap of $20k cash. Told the rep that and he showed us some cars. Showed her one she thought was chill and went inside to talk. Straight up told dude again that her limit was 20k and that unless we could do that then we wouldn’t have a deal. He went to talk with the ‘owner’ who was just a sales manager and boy did this dude have a fragile ego! He felt the need to take my sister and I into the back room with his other ‘managers’ away from the showroom so the other customers couldn’t hear and proceeded to try and grill us about we were crazy thinking they could sell us the car for that much. It honestly wasn’t even anything to trip about. Dude could’ve just told the rep to tell us no but he had to try and go on a power trip to impress his staff. Straight up asked if I offended him and he said yes! He was so heated 😂 I’m just glad I was there with my sister so she didn’t have to deal with this ‘manager’ and his small ego. Go to Honda across the street. They know how to take of customers and are more willing to work with you on price rather than getting offended and making a scene. Would rate 0 stars if I could. Made a appointment for a Tuesday, and they jokingly said we might not have the part, so maybe your car will be ready on Wednesday. A guy named Jeremy texted me back. I asked about the availability of a certain car in their lot. He assured me the car is still available. We negotiated a price through texting. I informed him that I needed to know prior to coming in since I was going to be driving over 120 miles to see it. Everything seemed good until I get a text the next day telling me the car just sold. Luckily I hadn’t started driving yet. This place has the worst service ever.

Comment: This is my account of the car buying process as I helped a friend in regards to helping him understand the dollars/numbers involved.On a car deal he received a sale offer of 19000. The dealership was almost purposefully vague on sending detailed numbers of the total cost despite multiple requests on our part to do so. But my friend still decided to go to the dealership because we decided the price seem to be decent. But I forewarned him to watch out for hidden cost when he arrives.Once my friend arrived at the dealership the shadiness became apparent. I was at home helping him via messaging/phone. The salesman presented with paper with all the numbers and there was one glaring number that had no apparent explanation. The amount was for 895. The salesman apparently did not allow my friend to take the photo of paper to send to me. but my friend found a way to do so anyway. I urged him to probe about the 895. Finally the salesman relented and told him it was the TrueCar advertising fee they are passing onto the buyer. Now that is very surprising because I have never seen any dealership that would pass on that obscene amount of fee onto a buyer in such fashion. I found this ludicrous.At this point I advised my friend that this is likely a bad business dealing and to walk away. The salesman probably noticed my friend was getting cold feet and came back with another offer. This was to give additional 1000 off (which is probably their attempt to salvage the situation without losing any real money) to seem like my friend was getting another 100 off the price (they were still charging 895 but giving 1000 off additionally). However in the process they said they had to raise the interest rate from promised 1.9% to 2.9%. While they may have tried to pass this off as looking magnanimous, but I see this as bait and switch. Because in the course of the loan most people will certainly pay more in interest than the 100 of additional savings they initially reaped.This was not yet over. They decided to change up the offer likely in their favor by deciding not to give 1000 but also not to charge 895 TrueCar fee. But they will have to go with 2.49%. At this point it was getting ridiculous. The friend ended up signing and purchasing the car because he was getting quite exhausted by this point. And he justified his action by thinking he didnt want to waste any more time and effort.Ultimately the dealership decided to wave 895 fee but still raised the interest to 2.49%. Talk about a roller coaster ride of offers.Perhaps this was overall a decent deal at the end of the day. But the way these dealer folks went about their dealings is quite unusual/unethical and does not sit well with me.Those of you who are thinking of shopping at this dealership, keep in mind that this can and likely will happen to you. So do your homework and go about it prudently.I will go with 2/5 only because my friend still ended up getting the car. He wasnt very happy with it but did it out of necessity. But the overall experience and the unusual circumstances call for deduction of 3 stars. If they follow up with good after service perhaps the rating will change for the better.

Comment: The General Manager Shawn created a horrible experience. He was unprofessional and extremely rude. After being there for multiple hours and starving, we thought to grab food and come back, only to have him threaten to take the deal off the table. When we returned, he raised the price and told us that if we kept shopping at other dealerships he was going to raise the price. Again, we left for a half hour to get food in our stomach after they made us wait hours!! In fact, other employees came up to us and apologized for his behavior. Apologized for a MANAGERS behavior!! In the end, he said we had to leave a positive yelp review or he wouldnt honor the deal. A true bully. I would recommend all to stay away.

Comment: I had an excellent experience leasing a new vehicle at Toyota of West Covina. The dealership had a great selection of vehicles for me to choose from and the deal I was offered was much better the the other Toyota dealers I visited. My sales person Allen is the best. He is very knowledgeable and explained to me all the options and features of all the vehicles I viewed patiently. Allen even called me the night of my purchase and the morning after to make sure the car drove and performed as expected. The finance process was easy and fast and my vehicle was washed and presented to me in showroom quality. I highly recommend Toyota of West Covina to everyone, you will be treated like VIP.I really love my new Camry :)

I will not be visiting this location again.First and foremost, this yelp page states the location is closed. It is not as I visited just this past week.I have been visiting this location for routine maintenance and service. In the past, I had received great service as well as customer service, specifically from Raul!However, upon the most recent visit, I was assisted by Manuel, and the customer service was quite terrible. I had made an appointment the day before and arrived to the appointment a few minutes earlier. I understand that often times business gets busy and customers begin to pile up, but I had waited to just even speak to a representative for at least 30 minutes although I had an appointment. Not a single individual approached me and inquired on my needs. People just kept passing by and saying I would be assisted shortly. In close proximity to me, Manual is at his computer and was quite rude as I attempted to communicate with him. At the time, I had disregarded it as I fully understand how strenuous the service industry can be.After finally reaching my turn to be serviced, Manual was quite rushing through the process when speaking to me and taking his time while going through the work on his computer. Again, I considered the fact that inputting information may take some time, so I respectfully waited. When he finally returned he continued to say many confusing and manipulative things that ultimately pushed to me have my 20,000 mile service rather than my 15,000 mile service as he kept saying how my vehicle was due for that maintenance. He often danced around my inquiries and things just did not quite add up. But with much confusion, I allowed for my car to be serviced anyhow for the 20,000 mile service as he lied about my current total millage.The customer service at this location is DIRTY and MANIPULATIVE. I lost an additional service that in coupled into the purchase of a new vehicle as the representatives here will coerce, confuse, and manipulate you into ridding of services you should be receiving and attempting to get you to pay more.I will no longer be visiting this location for car service.

Comment: I finally got the trunk that I dream, a limited Toyota Tundra. I have always wanted this truck since I graduated in 1995. Now I finally have it and with it all amazing safety features. I even paid the additional $3,000 protection plan because I really want to keep this truck for a long time. From purchase in September, as a Birthday gift for me, I had to take it for service in February, mileage 970. Oil change, multifunction test, rotate tires, and recall service for the vey first time. The was setup to my standard and I was very happy driving it when I purchased. After the service was done I noticed something was not working the way it was before the service. The front and back of the censors are not working, so I contacted Toyota service department about my issue. Had to schedule a new appointment and have them take a look it. After the second service, they said that the programs was updated and your censor was changed, so service employee said the warning and protection censor will base on the speed that I am driving. Before, the censor was warning me if I was getting too close to anything, cars or other obstacles regardless of speed. This was great feature, because the truck is huge and occupy a lot of space, so the warning was very useful. Now with the updated program, the safety features has change. If you are not driving at a certain speed, censor will not warn you. I even showed it to the service department and I was really close to a park car. Explanation of service department, this was the new upgrade of the program. I see the upgrade of the speed situation issue is important but if this effect the other features of the protection how can this be an upgrade? What happened to my protection, my insurance is going to love this. I am now disappointed with my Truck and Toyota. I think I over spent. Total waiting hours 4 hours on a non appointment, and waiting for explanation with schedule appointments 3 hours for second service.

Comment: I begin to loose faith in places once I get lied to, which is what happened recently. I took my Corolla in for an oil change and once that was done, they told me I had to change the front brakes bc they were at critical and wouldnt recommend that I drive off like that; also that my rotors had to be resurfaced. The total cost was going to be $472. I told them Id take a look at the brakes on my own. So I took my car to a small shop, had them lift my car and remove the tires so I could inspect the brakes and rotors along with the mechanic that was there. It was a big big lie. My brakes were perfectly fine, more than 60% left on them and nothing was wrong with the rotors. When I told the mechanic about why I wanted to have my brakes inspected, he couldnt believe that they told me that. They were trying to scam me big time. I would not recommend coming here for maintenance on your car.

Steve in the service department always helps me out, and gets my car done quickly. Comment: They provided dishonest service for me and it was a rip off. I’d have to say I wasted over $500 for a major service on my car there. The guy said I needed to change my windshield wipers because they were not factory wipers and it was part of the major service. I said that was ridiculous since I had just changed my wipers a month ago and rarely used them (so they were still in good condition). He said he had to change them anyway and I would get charged for it. I paid and saw the charge for the ridiculous factory windshield wipers, which were not cheap by the way. When I got my car back, I noticed they were still the same wipers as the ones I had put on them before I went to this place. They didn’t change my front or rare ones, EVEN THOUGH the guy said he had to change them and he said he had to charge me for them as well. Well, that stinks. Now I question whether or not they even changed my cabin air filter. I guess I’ll have to check that on my own and the mostly likely change it myself. You’re better off going to an actual Toyota dealership. It’s expensive but at least they’ll do the work they’re supposed to.

Comment: I recently purchased a new car from here. The staff is amazing. As always when you walk up into a dealer you see all the guys standing around waiting for customers to come in. My boyfriend & I were greeted right away. Steve Coto helped us out. Asked what we were looking for and what we were looking to spend. I went in thinking I would be coming home in a pre owned car since I wanted very low payments. But to my surprise I ended up leaving in a brand new car. Right in the price range I was looking for.Everyone there was very friendly and made sure we were happy. Even with the little things like asking us if we would like anything to drink. Also made small talk. They really make you feel comfortable. Which makes car shopping easier. You dont feel like they are just trying to sell you something to make a quick buck off you. Otherwise in my opinion the upper level staff should be given some kind of training of how to be courteous and polite to their customers. Comment: LONG WAITS, WRONG VIN# on contract, Intentional Unauthorized writing on checks, trying to pass BLEMISHED car as new: I went to Penske to buy a car for my parents on June 30 at 2:00pm after telling Daniel Rocha, their Costco auto rep for the dealership, that I would be in on Thurs afternoon. I arrive and Daniel Rocha is busy with another customer so I am assisted by Daniel Martinez. Nice enough guy. No real haggling as I agreed to the Costco price but they didnt have the car I wanted in stock. I was headed out to another dealership but was approached by Elaine, another rep, and asked if I would wait to give her a chance to see if she could acquire the car in the color I wanted. After 30 minutes, she was actually able to find 2 and by 3:30pm I agreed to buy the car if they could get it there ASAP. I was told by Daniel that it would take less than an hour to acquire the car so I agree to buy it. I leave the dealership, telling Daniel that I would be back within the hour-before he gets back with the car so the timing is right and Im not sitting around all day in the dealership and I can go pick up my father. As promised, I return at 4:10pm and Daniel still hasnt left to go pick up the car. I find out that he was instructed by Elaine to NOT to leave until I returned. Okay, so Elaine wasted some of my time. Daniel finally leaves to go pick up the car and contrary to his previous estimate, its over 2 hours later, and I decide to leave. At this point, its 4 hours in and Penske still hasnt been able to show me the car I intended to buy. As I begin to leave, Daniel shows. The finance manager tells me that there were 2 people ahead of me...which I am okay with as long as I am informed from the beginning. Why not tell me when I arrived that they were too busy to help me and that I should come back 4 hours later? POOR customer service.I decide that I waited for over 4 hours at that point, why not just do the finance paperwork now that they are ready for me. BIG MISTAKE. I am taken into the finance managers office where he draws up the paperwork and has my father sign at the appropriate places. Luckily, I am the type to read the details and notice that this finance manager tried to get my father to sign paperwork for the wrong vehicle, a totally different VIN#! BAIT and SWITCH much Penske? I guess you do because this finance manager never apologized and simply typed up new paperwork brushing it off as no big deal. Since when does having the wrong VIN# on a contract not become a big deal? After that incident, I am even more cautious with this dealership. The rest of the paperwork is done without a hitch...and I think I am going to drive home in a new car. WRONG.At the final walk around, I notice a blemish on the rear left side of the car near the lower paneling. The shady finance manager says its not a big deal and that its just a paint job and a quick service order can fix it. Im buying a NEW car, not a need-to-be-serviced and painted on day 1 car. So I decide to cancel. It’s now past 7:00pm. As we head back in to do the cancellation paperwork, I am informed that my check cannot be returned to me as it was already put in their safe. So they held my check hostage for a day. I am told, not asked, to return next morning to retrieve my check.I return the next morning, it is now hour 19 since I first walked into the dealership. No one knows who I am and my check is not ready for me. No surprises here…more waiting. Finally 9:35am and I get my check. WAIT, someone that is NOT me has written on it! Penske has no rights to the check and has no business writing on my check as soon as I say I am cancelling the deal. The Penske rep tries to blow off this intentional and unauthorized writing on a check that does not belong to them by saying, Whats the problem? You got your check back. The problem is that I dont go around writing on your checks without permission intentionally as that may be construed as fraud.

Comment: 2 weeks ago my husband was shopping for a used Toyota Rav4. Penske had exactly what we wanted, 2015 with only 12K miles for a very reasonable price. Thats not the only reason Im writing this review. Usually buying a car is a dreaded experience but the help we got from our Sales Person Art Q., was exceptional, friendly, no pressure, just the facts. We knew right away we could work with this person. And the Sales Team leader Danny H made us feel at home with his happy attitude and willingness to help. And the whole process was done quickly, absolutely the most pleasant experience weve ever had buying a car from any dealer. Before we went to Penske, we started out at West Covina Honda across the street. What a difference. The morale of the employees was very poor and cold. They wanted us to buy a car we really didnt like and it was obvious they were trying to unload this car for awhile. The trade in price they offered us was ridiculous and insulting. So if youre down that way to shop for a car BY PASS HONDA and go directly to Penske Toyota where you will be treated like family.
