They tell it to you like it is and let you know what else is going on with your car and offer fixes. The most awesome sauce thing is they don’t try to sell you on anything! The tires where showing metal, after already giving me a huge discount on the oil change Mark and Cesar got us financing for brand new tires too. But we ended up needing a new radiator and they did the install and flushed out the system and my car was ready a day later. But the thing that I want to share with you is how two of the mechanics waitef outside for my dog and me to get in the car, start the engine, put the windows down and look their way and they waived at me and I waived back. Comment: I took my 20+ year old Toyota sedan to Evan’s in Escondido to take advantage of a coupon to save money. I live in San Marcos, and the Evan’s in San Marcos couldn’t accommodate me that day. Neither are my regular mechanic.During their inspection, they found leaks in both my radiator hoses, which would cost $650 to fix. I turned it down because they were not my regular mechanic, not because I questioned their diagnosis. My car is old, so the unexpected can happen.They also found my tires and engine mounts to need replacement, both of which I was aware of.Total cost to remedy everything was $3,500.I took it to Terry’s immediately afterwards. They are my regular go to. They did find leaks in the hoses, but they said tightening the clamps was all it needed.Terry’s also found the engine oil to leak at the plug. My oil had just been changed at Evan’s! They said a Nissan crush washer was used when a Toyota one was needed. To resolve this leak, they had to re-do the oil change.When I think about it, there was no radiator fluid leaking onto my garage floor prior to this. I’m not making any accusations but it’s possible my clamps were deliberately loosened to create the leaks.So much for venturing outside my comfort zone to save money using a coupon!. And to top it off, I had to wait 2-3 hrs for completion. Shame on Evan’s!

Comment: I first worked with Grant to set up the appointment, the initial exchange of new tires then I worked with Cesar to get everything put in place and find out what it was going to cost for brakes replacement and rotors. It was a little bit more than I was budgeted for, but they try to give me different solutions, which in the end didn’t work for me, but I was able to come up with a different solution so that I could afford the whole thing so I didn’t have to come back. The team was very accommodating, the waiting room was very clean and they kept me updated. I was able to get in and out of there in 4 1/2 hours overall I was pleased with the service and I had gotten these types of tires and brakes before and had really great experience with them so overall I had a good experience with Evans tires on Broadway in Escondido

Two times with talk and no follow through. I just wanted honesty so I could plan my time. And the last time I had to use the insurance to replace a freeway flat tire. I paid the required replacement fee.Then the replacement tire after 5 miles had another flat on the freeway. Returned to Evans and they charged me for yet another replacement cost for a defective tire. Not so happy about that. I realized I could go anywhere for that type of service, and will next time.

Comment: I had to buy new tires, because my alignment was off and wore my tires out in less than a year. I have an alignment warranty with evans tires, yes it’s my fault because Im too busy with my work and personal life to constantly be taking time off of work 2 times a day, just to bring the car in for an alignment. They said no warranty coverage on the tires, because tread level is too low. But now I have new tires and they said they did an alignment, but the the alignment is still off, probably worse than it was before, so now I have to take more time off of work, just to try and get this fixed, yet again. Since I bought the alignment warranty, probably brought the car in about 6 times, they still can’t figure out how to align the car, yet I have to keep buying new tires until they can figure it out.

Comment: I’ve been coming to this shop for 10yrs ever since I move to Escondido. I’ve brought at least 10 different cars including my parents’ who live in National City. The service was good and they had a no pressure attitude. If there was something that needed attention they would say take care of it now or by xxxx miles or when your next service is due. However, when really bad they would let me know and most times I’d have the service done. I heard a year or two ago management or ownership changed and so did the attitude. Now, everytime I got an oil change they found something wrong with my car. Because I’d been going there for years I trusted them. This time was no different. Brought my car in at 7:30am for an oil change. I told the guy I needed the car back by 2pm because I had to pick up my wife. He said it would be done by 1pm. I get a call at 8:40am and was told I needed 2 tires and that I should get a tune up. I thought, I might as well. The service guy even gave me a “discount” to help seal the deal. I reminded him I need the car by 2pm and he assured me it would he done by then. I call back at 12:59pm asking on status and guys said tires were installed and alignment and oil change done. Just finishing up the tune up. I make my way to the shop to wait and it’s still not done. As I’m waiting there the service guys paid me no mind talking about motorcycles and what the top 5 fastest were. At 2:45 I finally ask on status and guy said they are finishing up on the tune up. 3pm comes around and I ask again and now they are doing the alignment. My problem here is not that I paid $1800 for 2 tires, alignment, and a tune up. What I don’t appreciate is being lied to and just having me wait with no explanation. It made me feel like because they got my money, time isn’t important to them. At least my time. It’s disappointing for being a customer for over 10yrs and trusting the brand. I show up when they opened (earlier than their competitors nearby) and was greeted with a smile and compassion for my predicament. My replacement tire was from a tire shop in Temecula, but my spare tire wouldnt allow me to drive that far. I thought I would be waiting at the shop for a long time and needed to get out of town. Comment: Dont recommend going here if you want honest employees. If you are only there to use the coupon they send in the mail, they will lie to you to try and upsell you on work you dont need done. Pretty significant lies too about the safety of your vehicle. I went here recently for an oil change (with coupon) and I guess they saw the opportunity to try and fleece me. They told my suspension was leaking and my control arms were cracked to the point where it was a huge safety issue. Said the control arms were at 35% stability and could go at any time. Tried to sell me almost $2500 worth of work right then and there. I objected to it because I have family connections to auto shops and repair shops and wanted to get a second opinion. Employee tried to get pushy wuth me saying it was a safety issue. Went to my normal guy and he put the car on the hydraulic lift, checked everything Evans said was supposedly wrong and surprise surprise, the control arms were fine and there was no leaking suspension. Very bad business practice to lie to people about the safety of their car just to upsell $2500. If you dont want to do just oil changes then at least lie to customers and say you are too busy to do oil changes instead of lying to them about the safety of their car. Will not be going back here again, no matter what kind of coupon they send and will definitely be looking into filing a complaint with the BBB, because lying about safety issues is absolutely and completely wrong.

I drove straight to the dealership “KIA” even though I knew they had just closed hoping that someone would be kind enough to take the time to at least help me secure my window for the night so I could deal with the problem today. Long story I know but to get to the point, EVANS tire shop was the only one that offered to help me even though it was after hours. I was so stressed out and had no clue what I was going to do because I do not have a garage or no place to park my car over night (especially cause it was raining). We take it back there and this guy is CONSYTANTLY saying we make no money off of these tires. Repeatably over and overFirst, thats not my problem, and second, we paid $99 for an installation charge. Goodyear who I just spoke with confirmed they get the full installation charge that shows on the checkout. So, this guy is intentional lying out loud in the store or needs to be informed better from @goodyear.Bottom line, we still have a low tire pressure indication light on, and Evans Tire / LaVell could CARE LESS about it.I DO NOT recommend this place of business for any service-related matters.

They installed 4 new tires on my work car in roughly 30-40 minutes and they did an excellent job. Thanks guys, see you in 60,000 miles.Update: January 2020.After my previous experience here at Evans why would I go anywhere else. Actually went in on a Monday. Took my Accord in for tires but the ones I wanted werent in stock. They promised them by Tuesday afternoon and they delivered. Took my car in and was driving away a happy camper 45 minutes later. The techs even inspected my car and pointed out a couple of things that would need attention soon. Didnt try to sell me other services just being thorough and professional. Cant say enough about these guys. Why would anyone go anywhere else? Next time you need tires or service youve gotta check these guys out. Youll be glad you did.

Comment: Took my 22’ Tacoma in for a slight problem with the alignment. After 4 hours and several test drives, the tech was unable to solve the issue. Besides botching the job, he also screwed the steering wheel up. Gave it back with the same problem and a crooked steering wheel. Demanded my money back and got it. Was told it was something other than the alignment.Frustrated, I took the truck back to the dealership. 1.5 hours in the hands of a technician who knew what they were doing and the truck drives as a new truck should, perfectly. I really hate when businesses try to make excuses for their employees incompetence. I would not recommend this place for an alignment on any vehicle. Gave 3 stars for effort. Deducted two for wasting 4 hours of my time.

They have never disappointed me with the multiple vehicles that I have put tires on and alignments through their company. Today, I brought them two tires to mount on my G37X, I was in and out in less than an hour. The guys that were working that day, including the mechanics in the bay, were all extremely friendly and I had a lot of fun talking with them. I was even given valuable information about directional and non-directional tires from the mechanic as well as the manager who shared some literature with me which increased my knowledge. Comment: I bought 4 tires from them and keep having problem with them. First time all 4 valves needed to changes. they changes them. The second time i went to fix a flat tire. I employee told me that i have to wait 4 hours. I took my car and came back after one week (a Monday) and the same guy told me that i have to wait 3 hours. Comment: They were able to order my tires quickly and service was quick, especially towards the end of the day when I was able to bring in my truck. I was a little disappointed in them not wanting to align the truck, saying that the rack was only rated for 10k lbs, and that my truck was at that, which is its actually its gcvw when hauling, unladen its approximately 8100lbs, which I know after it got weighed when I bought it a month prior. Also, the gentleman who moved it did not seem to be used to diesels and started it before the glow plugs shut off, and pulled the electric folding mirror out after the truck was out. I’m not too upset, but would appreciate it if the employees were a little more aware of the cars they work on for a living operate.

It wasn’t two hours but close. The reps were friendly and professional but they came up before the car was done and said there was some edge wear, no big deal, but I should have the alignment check which was supposed to be part of the original purchase at the time of sale. It was not done and he said I could pay $89 for it. Ummmm...? No. That’s a quarter of the price for the tires. I wasnt able to get the tires that i saw online that were under $90 dollars so I ended buying the ones that they had available for my car but they were about $15 dollars more. If you are looking for cheap tires and looking online just like i did your best bet is to call them first and let them tell you what they have available before you go there. I tried Evans tires because i thought they would have more tires available since they are almost next door to Discount Tire and Discount Tire Showed in their website that they didnt had a lot of tires available and I needed to wait 1 to 2 days for them to get them. Comment: Ive been coming here for 8 years now but never again. They ordered some tires for me and told me they would be ready by Wednesday. I called Tuesday and was told they had come in early and to come on in. So I drove in, waited almost 2.5 hours, and then was told they didnt have the tires. I live 40 min from here but have kept coming because I was a loyal customer. I asked them to install the next level up and match the price but they refused. I have spent a lot of money with Evans and would expect them to take care of me a little better. Including drive time, I wasted 4 hours and they werent willing to do anything to resolve my issue. They basically blamed me for coming in early stating the tires were there for another customer. I understand mistakes happen, but own up to them and take a small loss to keep a customer. I emailed them on their website with details of my experience where it states they will respond within 24 hours. Its been 3 days now and still no call which is why Ive decided to leave this review. I went to Discount Tire today and got the same exact tires installed for $7 less in 15 minutes.
