Positive: Price Negative: The rooms are in need of serious updating I felt like I was back in the 70s Dirty room, under the bed was Dusty & Dirty, clumps of dust and dog hair everywhere, TV screen was dirty, bathtub very outdated and stained, towels are old, lobby was dirty as well
Positive: Quick check in time Location freeway and quick reservation time Negative: With business climate in enough rooms rented rooms should¿ve been reduc The food they consider breakfast as a joke do not call this breakfast also hotel is way more emptier than should be please reduce prices to fill up hotel and make it more comforta
Positive: The location Negative: The cleanliness and the inability to have access to clean towels and linen. There were not any brooms, dustpans or anything available for me to clean my room myself. We had been staying there since 11/15 -11/19/21 with an additional extension made.
There is only one elevator so unless youre right there by it its very unconvincing yet to have to walk all the way from your car to the elevator then all the way to the room. Other than that the staff was awesome! Everyones so nice and the bed was pretty comfortable. The room was very clean, no dust. Will definitely be staying here again but Ill be requesting a room near the elevator LOL
I can’t review the actual hotel, because upon arrival we were told the hotel was overbooked, and there were no room available. As a former hotel employee, I do understand this happens, especially when it involves bookings from third party sites. What makes me most upset is there was no effort from the hotel to find us other accommodations (as has always been the case in my situation as a traveler, and former hotel employee). When we asked to verify that we wouldn’t be charged, the front desk agent just responded “you should be fine.” We weren’t, and we’re charged the full nights stay, and are no awaiting the refund which will hopefully come soon. At that point I might consider changing this rating, it seeing as this seems to have happened to others recently as well with no help, seems like the 1 star is barely even deserved. This is terrible hospitality, especially when it involves people and families coming from out of town who may not have the luxury of finding other last minute accommodations.
The pictures on the website are extremely deceiving. The rooms are very dingy. It’s definitely not worth the price I paid. The tub is stained all throughout with dark circles. There’s a horrible stale stench in the room. Not to mention I purchased a studio room and the fridge is also marred with stains and odd spots.
Positive: The room was nice. Negative: During check in, we were told they dont take credit cards, only debit cards. I dont have room here to tell you everything I want to. I would love to give details. Breakast was a joke. The front desk just did not give a damn about anything.
Positive: The staff was friendly. The location was very good - close to the highway with a lot of restaurants nearby. Negative: It smelled bad. It smelled like fried food in the lobby and on my floor. It seemed to seep into my room as well. It made me sick to my stomach and made everything feel unclean.
Only put stars to get attention to the review that they have BED BUGS INFESTATION!!!! Our room and bed was filled with BED BUGS VERY DISGUSTING!! Went to the front desk with our complaint and the lady that worked there was unable to give us a refund! It wasn’t till the next day I got ahold of customer service and finally got a refund. DO NOT STAY HERE
I made a reservation for 2 double rooms, drove 4 hours and when we arrive they tell me that they over booked reservations and I was left without a room and without any options, they did not arrange for another hotel to take care of us or offer anything to make things right but a sorry. I will never book a stay with this company ever again. This is the worse hotel experience I have had in my life, shame on you Extended Stay America!!!
Let me start by saying that I used to travel for work and have stayed in my fair share of hotels. With that said this place was probably the worst experience that Ive had. The rooms do not look like the pictures. They claim the bed I slept on was a queen size which it definitely was not. I sleep on a queen at home and the one they provided was a standard full size. This place is very noisy. People yelling in the halls and door slamming until 1am. I asked for a late checkout and was notified that the latest I could leave was 11:30am and after that I would be charged for the net day. Then the morning of checkout I received a knock on the door at 10:45am from the front desk guy. If checkout is 11 then why are you bothering me before that time. ZERO hospitality at this place. Next time Ill spend an extra $20 a night and stay in a real hotel.
Worst hotel stay ever!!! The 3 thing sheets that are on the bed were dirty, the pillows had hair on them, the carpet had cigarette burns throughout the entire room, the drawers had food and Tobacco in them, the cabinet above the microwave had food in there from the previous stay, we had to ask for kitchen ware, and still didnt get a coffee maker! The cleaning staff needs to be fired because NOTHING was clean ESPECIALLY the tub!!! And the shower curtains didnt even fit all the way in the tub
I was able to book online and when I got there they would not take my PNC Visa card citing a new policy. However, I had been there 2 weeks before and several other times over the course of the last few months for school. I offered to take cash out and pay and they refused. Now they will not reimburse me. Highly recommend other hotels in the area. 1 star is too high.
Booked through Southwest Airlines site, which I always use and have for over 15 years, never experiencing issues. Booked a room with 2 queen beds.Upon arrival was told they did not have 2 queens but upgraded me to a king room without sofa sleeper. The room was for my daughter and her teenage son, thus the need for 2 beds. We are all here for my companys work. They said it was not their fault, but Southwest Airlines fault and repeatedly try to explain to me what third party meant as if I just landed here from Mars. They told me I had to call SWA to cancel as it was a pre-paid deal. They did offer to give me a rollaway bed for $10 night (8 nights), basically having ME pay for their mistake. When I told them they should comp the bed, they refused. The debate went on for sometime and there was a gentleman waiting to check in, so we left but remained in the parking lot while trying to rectify with Southwest on the phone. This took almost an hour. The gentleman that was in line came out after about 45 mins and told us that the 1st room they gave him had crumbs everywhere and obviously not cleaned. The 2nd one had dirty diapers. The 3rd room was the double queen that they told me they did not have! He told us this as he said he had heard the whole conversation! With COVID-19 experiencing a high resurgence in Michigan, I guess we ended up lucky. They obviously are not following cleaning protocols and are bold faced liars!! Went to the Extended Stay nearby and they were awesome!
Would not recommend this place. Reception was good and the manager was understanding. But the enforcing of rules is poor. Guests were walking half naked at night on the hallway and talking loudly all night. Heard knocking on the door at night either for selling drugs or, drunk and lost. First room I got was stinking like someone was smoking. Management says, at times, enforceing non-smoking policy was difficult. I was shocked at poor enforcement of hotel policy and guests getting away with it., behave unruly in spite of place being right in front of a reputed University and nice joints around. I was close to calling 911 at night when folks outside started knocking on the door and then disappearing - dont stay here until management and law enforcement addressed these issues. Truly Sad!!!
As a frequent traveler for work and recreation i stay in Extended Stays all across the country. First time in Auburn Hills and even though it has been like 10 degrees on average while I been here Ive been happy with the hotel here. Clean, safe and friendly. Malik, sorry if I spelt it wrong has been a great help with everything and I swear he never leaves here cause It seems like he here 7 days a week. Been a while since I dropped a positive review with your hotel but its worth it
We based our decision to stay here according to the info on the web site, mainly that they would provide kitchen utensils, pans, dish drainer, coffee maker, dishes/glasses/cups. Since there were two of us, we got two of each for dishes (plates, bowls, cups, silverware), a sauce pan, a fry pan, (pans were without lids), spatula, and large spoon. There were no glasses in the room, and no coffee makers available, even though the literature in the room said these items were available upon request as did their web site. Coffee service was available in the main lobby 24/7, and breakfast bars and muffins were served in the morning. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Room was pleasant and in very good condition as was the rest of the hotel. Walls are thin though. Kids screaming in the hallway, neighbors above us had elephantitus. We could hear them run water, and using the bathroom. All in all, a pleasant experience, good selection of nice restaurants in the area.
I called to let them know that I would be checking in late and asked if I could get a coffee maker/coffee. I was told I would need to bring my own coffee and when I said I dont travel with coffee In was hung up on. So I called back and said that I dont appreciate being hung up on, you advertise breakfast and at the very least I expected coffee. Hung up on again! And Im not kidding, this was the conversation, I was not rude. So I called back, spoke with the manager and he seemed unconcerned but said he would check into it. I finally get to the hotel and no one is at the desk. After saying hello numerous times someone comes around and gives me an attitude with the response I was busy Thats nice, this is a hotel and someone needs to be at the desk. She wasnt happy with my comment and when someone else came up to the desk she walked away to help them! So I finally get my room and no toilet paper. I cancelled my reservation for the following night. When I say that I drove over 12 hours today and prefer to leave vs staying another night that should tell you all you need to know. Im exhausted but I will find another place or sleep in my car instaed of spending another nickle here. Rude and unprofessional doesnt even begin to describe this place. AVOID AT ALL COST.
I think I got the cheapest room possible which was a single queen. There was a small kitchen area with two electric burners, a microwave, a full size fridge, plenty of cabinet space. There was a small counter with some bar stool type chairs that you could use for work or to sit and eat.. There was also a desk and an office type chair. I was able to plug a laptop into the tv and use it as a second monitor which worked out great. Although I had to move the desk in front of the dresser since the TV is bolted down. It just worked better for the two monitor arrangement. The accomodations were spartan to be sure, but overall I would say they were above average. If I found myself in need of a quick place to stay for a while and still be able to work remotely, I would definitely stay here again. Oh, and I opted for the upgraded wifi and it was plenty fast enough. I was able to video conference, vpn into work, stream youtube, etc on multiple devices with no problems or slowdowns. Its not posh by any means but it got the job done.
Spent 4 days here due to a power outage caused by a short but powerful storm. These people went out of their way not only to accommodate both me and my pup but even went the extra mile to make sure I didnt have to change hotels due to a full house situation. Hats off guys!!
Location was convenient to where I as going. Front desk was trying to be helpful but some amenities were not available. There were packages that arrived for me upon arrival. I was not offered help or asked if I wanted to come back down to get them when my hands were already full. Thought that was just a common courtesy...but I guess not. I asked if fed ex would come or if I could schedule a pick-up for my items (vs going to a fed ex location) and the front desk seemed very confused by my question.Room was clean, lobby was clean, room was located in a convenient place which as nice since I had a number of items.Wish this location had a gym or hot tub or a bar so I didnt have to walk to find one, but that fulfilled my need for the gym I guess. Overall, neutral experience. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either and I wouldnt necessarily seek one out in the future.
Reservations and check in were easy. Rooms were not the cleanest and had cobwebs and dead bugs in the corners. Kitchen was nice with full fridge and stove with microwave, but you had to go to the front desk for a coffee machine and Im assuming the same is true to clothes iron and ironing board. Breakfast was lack-luster and ran out quick. It was a cheap room so I guess you get what you pay for.
This hotel is fine. However theirs a nasty guy at the desk, that gave not only me but another guest a hard time. He was very rude! My girlfriend booked the room online and he refused to let her check in because she didn’t have a “bank” card! The room was already paid for. She had to wait for my arrival to check in. Then, I was told I couldn’t use my credit card and that “his manager insisted it was an actual bank card”. I never had this problem anywhere else! I will not be booking here ever again.
It is a nice place to stay till around 2:30 am roaches started coming in from the kitchen It freaked us the mess out. We kinda took turns sleeping to recover from our 8 hr trip this was the closest hotel after us sleeping for like thirty minutes more roaches started coming we saw roughly around 20 till I went to sleep but my family were still up they saw some more then they went to sleep and wen we woke up we saw a roach in climbing from the wall to the window back to the wall then to the celling then we killed it haven’t seen once since and that was around 9 am. If they called pest control and got rid of the roaches this would be a decent hotel
I booked my stay here cause it was affordable. When I got there, the place has no lights on, had to park in a dark parking lot as I wondered if the place was even open. Inside, the front desk was empty and there was a a guy in dirty shorts and tee shirt in socks asking for the house keeping (very confused). Ride the dirty elevator up. Inside, the place was outdated, there was paint chipping off, the floors were dirty, there were stains on the counters and I had to fix the TV so itd turn on. The bed was clean at least. Its a extended stay hotel so house keeping never stopped by during my 3 night stay.I told myself that I could make it work since I was only using it to sleep. I didnt want to hang out there. Even then, I regret stay here.
Underated as far as price goes. Rooms are a little outdated but not that bad. Kinda clean inside few minor issues like a couple small stains on carpet. A couple dirty spots on walls but honestly not really a that concerning. For the price i was scared and prepared to run right back out. Decent amenities like laundry mat on 2nd floor that was very clean and cheap. They have dishes available at no cost to cook in room big plus. In a pinch tgis place was good. Staff seemed to care about our stay. The one guy that works nights asked me frequently if everything was ok everytime i walked by. The lady also seemed to care about our stay by asking the same. Honestly thats the type of service of a 5 starPlace. I think this place could use a little updating and some better atention to detail with room cleanliness even though the cleaning lady is super super nice. Hard to go wrong with the place at the price.
Over all stay was ok. The room was not clean by a long shot, there was drink bottles under the bed from who knows when. Kids crackers (half eaten) in one if the drawers. We had to get out keys reprogramed each day. However the location is not bad and the staff was friendly. Also Continental breakfast consisted of 3 kinds of granola bars and prepackaged muffins. Price was in the mid range.
I stayed here for my sons wrestling tournament. Within the first 10 min after we arrived the manager busted into our room without knocking. I called corporate and to pay me back she charged my room a $230 smoking penalty and lied and said she seen me smoking. I have been trying to contact anyone to solve this fraudulent activity but no one has responded to my complaint its been a week. Oh and they will not give u extra towels without giving you a hard time or hold them hostage until you pay the fraudulent smoking charge. This was a complete nightmare. I DO NOT recommend this place for anyone. As I see they have done the same to another lady on here. The rooms already smell of smoke and curry.
Terrible place floors didnt even look like they have be cleaned nor did the bathroom had no plates, cups, spoons or forks cabinets where empty. Bed was hard as a rock heating and air could use an update. There coffee in the morning was so bad I went and bought my own coffee maker. Walking though the halls of this place smells like pot. Wouldnt recommend it to anyone.
Room was clean but the hotel is obviously some kind of welfare flophouse. People in the halls loud, constantly slamming doors over my 6 day stay. The internet connection is ridiculously slow even when you pay for the supposedly enhanced internet package. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless they have no other option.
It was bad. We went to one room that the sheets had not been changed and had some black stuff in the bed. I couldnt tell what it was. Then she switched our room and that one had dirty sheets too. I couldnt tell if it was black pieces or bugs. But it was in both rooms on two different floors. The lady at the desk tried to help but she was alone.I just got a refund because if it was bugs I wasnt trying to take any home.
Domestic disputes in the middle of the night, the entire place smelled like a marijuana hotbox, and the worst part was the coffee was awful! My room was decent as far as the level of cleanliness, but the drains were slow and clogged, so my bathroom sink was gross as well as the tub.
I am currently an 18 year old woman who has moved from Ohio for a co-op position in a very well credited company. I have not been at all satisfied with this hotel since I arrived. When I first moved up here they had assigned me a double room (with two beds) because they didnt have any queens left, and told me I would be moving the following day. I was ok with this until they told me the next day that they still didnt have a room for me. This went on for about another week until I finally broke down and had a very strongly worded chat with the manager of the hotel. She sincerely apologized and reassured me that I wouldnt be moving into another room and that I could finally unpack my things. When I did finally unpack I got terrible service from the front desk and didnt get room service for about three weeks. I had asked numerous times about room service and other little details about what my room was supposed to have and received very short and snotty answers. This is now my sixth week here and I received a call this morning telling me that I am being moved into a completely different room and that I needed to be out of mine by checkout time. I prepared to move and when I went to get the key to my new room the receptionist had changed and I was told that the room I was supposed to get wasnt ready and that they were going to be putting me in a different room until the room I was originally assigned to was ready. As a Co-Op student there is no way I would want anyone else who has just moved four hours away from anyone they know to go through the same situations. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone who is planning on staying here for more then two nights.
I was lied to on multiple counts when making my reservations..I was told that Id get the taxes from my bill back if I stay for more than 30 days. I stayed for 68 days. Never got any money back.. After my stay I asked at the counter and called 4 times.. I was told a manager will call me back 2 times.. never called me.I was also told that this location has a fitness center.. it does not. I went to ask at the front desk. With a smirk on her face, the girl at the counter said I must be looking at the wrong location. THE LISTING STILL SAYS THERE IS A FITNESS CENTER AT THIS LOCATION.Breakfast.. Muffins (usually empty), granola bars and coffee...Next. Internet.. Free and Paid.. $4.79 per night.. Free internet is throttled and unusable. Im not kidding. Speed test showed 28kb/s. Good luck loading any web pages with that. Yes I had full signal.TV. Ill give it a star here since the room had a good TV package. That definitely helped. TV it self had an issue.. or was rigged as It would turn off every 2 hours and reset the settings (and channel).Room.. I got clean towels every week so thats good however the room had spills and garbage all over the carpet. Didnt get vacuumed once in my 68 day stay.Kitchen had 2 electric stove tops, a microwave, and a decent size fridge. Good enough to make food. I had to ask for my pots and pans since there were not in the room.AC/Heater.. Heater worked for maybe 3 weeks and then quit working. AC only worked in high speed which rattled.. A LOT. Told the people at the counter.. Was told someone will come check it out.. never worked to the end of my stay. Its a place to stay so if youre in a rush and you need an emergency place to stay then this will do for a price that isnt too crazy.
Severe bedbug infestation. The Room was dirrty and had what I can only describe as a sticky grease over nearly every surface, even the carpet was sticky. I got torn apart by bed bugs so they moved me to a different Room. After several days in the new Room I also got bit by bedbugs although the room was a little cleaner.
I think the best way to describe this place is sketchy. Hard to know where to start. From the outside, this looks to be a fine option for anyone looking for a cheap place to stay, but stay 1 week or more and youll start noticing things:In the last month of being here, I have noticed that they have almost never asked to see ANY identification if I needed to pick up mail. But to pick up mail would mean that the ONE person working in the whole building after 4 pm would actually have to be at the desk.If you care about a clean room then keep looking, the rooms are sometimes clean and if youre lucky they wont be falling apart. (in the last month Ive had to move rooms due to broken shelves and had to put in to get my sink repaired when it soaked the contents of the cabinet.wifi. is. a. joke. for $31 a month you can actually do some mild internet tasks, but dont expect to get anything done AT ALL on the free wifi. Wifi is handled by an offsite company and neither the front desk nor the company would tell me what the speeds should be, but ill tell you with the free i was getting 1mbps (sometimes less) and rarely id get up to 3mbps in my room (download). For comparison thats around the average wifi speed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Starbucks will get you about 8-9mbps.In my experience, I would not recommend anyone stay here unless living on the street is the only other option.*some other things: Rooms have no ventilation in the bathroom or anywhere else, that means any steam you make from kitchen or bathroom stays with you in the room. The windows do open about 2 inches, but only some have screens to keep bugs out.The coffee and breakfast is only sometimes available. If you have to get to work in the morning theres a solid chance theyll be out of coffee and youll be on your own for your caffeine intake for the day. There is a positive or two actually: the man in charge of maintenance and upkeep is always working (theres a lot to maintain as mentioned) and I always appreciate how quickly he has de-iced the sidewalks. This location is very close to FCA headquarters, Starbucks, and Oakland University. As long as you dont plan on enjoying your time inside, youll enjoy its location outside.Dont stay here.
Horrible experience! Booked a room through Hotwire and from the moment I walked in, had trouble. The check in guy was not there and he came out after 10 min of waiting and looked like he just woke up from a nap. After another 15 min of checking in me and my wife went to our room, we pulled the sheets up as we always do and noticed a yellow spot, instantly smelled like pee. We were giving another room and sat down for 2 min when my wife noticed a bed bug sitting on the night stand. We were so disgusted and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Do Not Stay Here... Had to switch rooms as soon as we walked in. Had last persons trash still laying around. Second room was better but still found someones dirty clothes in it. The Complimentary breakfast is a joke. Rock hard granola bars, hard store bought muffins and packets of oatmeal along with a pot of coffee and a container of hot water.... That was it!!! When the clerk knows the room is dirty before you say a word, you know your in the wrong place....
Rooms are not being cleaned properly. Thought that the housekeeper should have a checklist to make sure everything is getting cleaned for sanitary reasons but they do not!! Had to change my room three times in one night. Ive found hair in the microwave, sticky and hairy floors, condoms on the side of the bed!!!!(Yes I said Condom), pacifiers under the bed, dirty counter tops, ect. I had to do my own cleaning by getting Purell wipes, Lysol, and a broom. Front desk does not get matters taken care of in a timely matter. Nobody takes pride in not sanitation to prevent diseases!!! Ill save you time, money, and a inconvenience by saying dont come to this location!!!!
My experience was very average. Check-in & staff interaction was below-par, but the property was adequate.I had reserved & prepaid for a two bedroom suite on Priceline. The suite was supposed to have one queen bed, two twin beds, and one sofa bed. Before booking the hotel through Priceline, I had also checked the hotels booking website. As I was doing this check, it became apparent to me that there was only one suite like this at the property. I wound up booking through Priceline because the rate was better. When I arrived, the front desk staff had my reservation on file & there were no issues checking in. However, when I went to the room that I was assigned at check-in, I was given a one bedroom suite (i.e. standard room) with only two double beds.I returned to the front desk to inquire, & I explained to the front desk agent that I had reserved a two bedroom suite. The front desk agent advised that the hotel did not have any such rooms. I then explained the bed arrangement that the two bedroom suite was supposed to have, & the front desk agent advised that the property has only one apartment that meets that criteria. So I advised that was what I had reserved & prepaid for on Priceline. The front desk agent advised me that the apartment was not supposed to be sold on Priceline, because it is the only one they have on the property & they prefer to keep it available so they can sell it directly at their higher rate. The front desk agent advised that the apartment was available, but it would require an additional $50 if I wanted to upgrade to it.I told the front desk agent that I had written confirmation of my reservation, from Priceline, which clearly showed that I had reserved & prepaid for the apartment. So I advised that if they wanted to charge the additional $50, that would be fine by me because I would just dispute the charge with Priceline. Additionally, I noted that it was 0500 PM on a Wednesday night, I was only staying one night (with others, which is why I had reserved the suite with four beds), & the apartment was still available. So I didnt understand why they were being so difficult - Did they expect somebody a walk-in to come after 0500 PM that evening looking to stay in the apartment that night? The front desk agent finally conceded to switch me into the apartment, for no additional charge, if I produced written confirmation of my prepaid reservation. I shouldnt have had to do this, as they should have an accurate reservation on file (although it was clear that their record keeping was not very good - The paperwork I had to complete had my address listed as somewhere in Connecticut, but I have never even lived in Connecticut). But I pulled it up anyways, & the front desk agent finally agreed to switch my room to what I had reserved & prepaid for.The suite was adequate, particularly for the price. It was not the most up-to-date suite, but it served its purpose. I was concerned about room cleanliness given many other (recent) reviews. However, the suite was mostly clean - There was a phone charger that was left in the wall from the last guest, & some errant small pieces of trash (which made it clear they didnt do a thorough job of cleaning the suite). The location was great - Nearby many small strip malls for food & shopping. The location also felt safe, & there was ample free parking available for guests.
We chose this room because we knew we would need a kitchenette to keep food in refrigerator, reheat food and make coffee in the morning. After check in we asked the front desk clerk for a corkscrew for our wine bottle, a coffee maker and a coffee packet to make in the morning, and some utensils. When the clerk returned he only had a coffee maker, 2 spoons, 2 knives, 2 forks. He said they no longer provide corkscrews and they were out of coffee packets. But several times referred to the 24/7 coffee table behind me.....which was devoid of coffee pots or hot coffee? (To be fair it was evening...but why keep referring to the 24/7 available coffee) I came back to the room with a coffee maker to do what with I wasnt sure. I decided maybe I could use a sharp knife to stick into the cork and so went back up to the front desk to request a sharp knife. My husband forbade me to use the sharp knife fearing I would cut my finger off! lol! After my husband drove to walmart to get a corkscrew I realized we had not one cup in the room! Called front desk and they brought 2 coffee cups to our room. I later realized we couldnt heat up our food with not a plate or bowl. I was tired of feeling like I was begging for kitchen supplies so just gave up all together on the idea of using the kitchen. Upon brushing my teeth the bathroom sink would not drain properly. It dredged up all sorts of previous tenants hair and dna and left it covering the bowl after the water finally seeped into the drain. Gross! I cannot recommend staying at this location.
Horrible. We spent a half hour going up and down 3 stories picking up dishes, coffee pot, etc. Dishes were dirty, had to wash them. Hair and filth in shower. Room smelled. Super slow Internet. Attndant made you feel like a criminal when asking for items. No breakfast or coffee available when I left. Avoid, avoid avoid
This hotel smells of cooking odors. Everything in the room my husband and I occupied was broken down. Tiles in kitchen area were cracked and chipped. Bathtub walls are cracked and broken. Drain in bathroom is clogged. Toaster doesnt toast bread well and you have to keep re toasting your bread. But you have to wait for the toaster to cool off before you can push the lever down again. There is no door on bottom of toaster to hold the bread crumbs. So when we arrived there were bread crumbs around the toaster. Front desk staff is barely cordial. Rooms are tiny. There is a chair in front of the closet. If you want to get inside the closet you must move the chair. This hotel chain is running a commercial where people sing: Were not going to take it. They all head to an Extended Stay Hotel. They should be singing as they leave the Extended Stay America Hotel. The hotel has what they call a grab and go breakfast. It consists of coffee from dirty containers, hot water to make instant oatmeal, granola bars and old fruit. TVs turn off by themselves. Usually when the game or the plot is getting really interesting. Noisy refrigerators and HVAC. Four cheap pillows on bed. Two with feathers that poke through the fabric and scratch you. Two old moldy, lumpy foam pillows.
Our family spent 2 days here while visiting friends in Pontiac, but in retrospect we could have stayed in a better equipped hotel for the same price. Rooms were outdated, but clean, and lacked any dishes or cookware. We called down for silverware and were given a single dirty fork and one spoon. The wifi was also very slow, so we ended up using our data all visit.
This hotel exceeds expectations in terms of cleanliness, very kind staff accommodation and fast wifi. Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights along with my friends and we booked 4 rooms...we are all pleased with our stay...we will come back for sure and we will recommend the place to our other friends here in Toronto Canada.
Not very impressive at all. One of our blankets was ripped and the other had animal hair all over it. They did bring up a new blanket after we asked but the kids were grossed out. The vending machine was a little sketchy as the price inside the machine was listed as $2 but there was a sticker on the front saying everything was $2.25 Why the inconsistency? We wont be staying here again
I would give 0 stars if i could! There was a blood spot on my bed and when I called front desk to complain they didnt even act like it was anything serious and said to cover it with a extra sheet. Uhm?? Its a biohazard!!! Absolutely disgusting and disrespectful staff. DO NOT STAY HERE.
My husband and I stayed here 2 nights. The first night AC was pathetic, when ever u switch it on it was making very loud noise like a lawn mower. We contacted reception in evening to fix it or give us another room but the reception girl said she cant do anything and will call back, which she never did.It was very hot and impossible to sleep so we called reception again at night to atleast provide us a fan so we can sleep as my husband had to get to work early next morning, she said she will check and call back but again never did.The reception doesnt give a damn about anyone here
Thats hotel in America the manager and assistant manager go out a way to satisfy the guest the housekeeping staff is the best housekeepers in any industry I was so happy with my stay I decided Im going to spend my whole summer the manager Paul and assistant manager make you feel so good and the place is so clean its like being at homeI recommend anyone that go to Auburn hills to stay at extended-stay hotel in Auburn hills on University drive
Good location close to freeways and restaurants. Also close to ctc and oakland university. Wish it had seperate rooms in it like home wood. They provide all plates pots and pans, silverware. Very nice and friendly. Was in a pet room as i had a pet with me. Could smell the pet smell when i walked in.
Not only did the house keeping not show up for two weeks straight, and the stove top took an hour and 30 minutes to boil water with the knob set on high, but the internet upgrade i paid for was so terrible i couldnt make conference calls with not only my family but with my supervisors. I would rather stay in a beat up motel and leech off of a fast food restaurants wifi than to ever stay at this hotel again. At least at a motel it being a terrible stay is expected with half the cost.
There was a major water leak in the main lobby, but that wasnt exactly their fault. However there were no notices or signs designating the nearest alternative to the elevators making the stairs a bit difficult to find. No staff members were tending the front desk for assistance which also makes security a bit worrisome.
This place was so nasty. It had a smell that was so bad I couldnt stay. The bathroom was disgusting and the kitchen area was filthy. This doesnt make any sense. I made a reservation for a king bed and they gave me a queen double and it still charged me for a king. The worst hotel Ive ever been at. Do not go here. NASTY
I cant begin to describe the horrible experience I had at this Extended Stay last summer. I was working at an internship and this was provided as housing. Our first problem was that the refrigerator was broken and would freeze anything we put in it even though it was on the warmest setting (our milk would freeze within a day or two). Nothing was done for weeks despite multiple complaints to the front desk. Our toaster left crumbs everywhere because there was no tray underneath. We had tons of ants (we were on the second floor...) and could clearly see piles of crumbs around and behind the refrigerator. The track for the closet was smashed and bent so that the doors barely opened. Mold was growing in the shower and up the shower curtain. We were finally allowed to change rooms unexpectedly and had 1 evening to pack all of our stuff and move. About a week later we were given a notice that they rented out our room starting in August (still during my roommates and my internship which was already paid for and contracted) and that we would have to move rooms again in a few weeks. The second room we stayed in had almost all of the same problems except the refrigerator finally worked correctly. One night I woke up to the sounds of dripping. Our floor in front of our door and in the bathroom was wet and there were cracks all along the ceiling dripping water. I called the front desk and was told to put a towel down to soak up the water. Maintenance didnt come look at it for 2 days so we had to walk through the dripping every time we went to enter or leave our room.I went as far as contacting the manager, the local manager, and the regional manager and still nothing ever changed. They sent my roommate and I multiple apologies and a little gift of 2 cans of soup, a packet of gum, and 1 coozie. Nothing ever changed with the rooms and we still paid full price for this horrible experienceNeedless to say, I will never stay at another Extended Stay America ever again.
Hotel was nice clean and staff very nice. I booked my room threw priceline which was a horrible experience I asked for a two bed and they booked one bed and argued for 2 hrs about a refund. The hotel tried to do everything they could to help.. But advice is to never book threw priceline!
Beware of this location!!! I stayed here June 1-3 2018 . My 2 yr old and I caught Scabies from this location!!! Also a centipede was in the bed with by my 6 month granddaughter mouth. The Manager ( Ken) could care less causeIts that time of the season and that he had centipedes in his basement”!! How could someone that’s running a business like this still working here!!
This hotel was so neat when we came in it was clean then about 2:30 at night we had a bunch of roaches crawling around the kitchen we checked all our items and it wasn’t us carrying them we couldn’t see where they were coming from they were just all over the kitchen all through out the night we seen roaches one crawled into our bag and we freaked out and left we could barely sleep there we didn’t stop seeing them until about sunrise my experience wasn’t that pleasant if they fix that problem I probably would have had a great stay.

2022-05-08Didnt get room booked with 2 queen beds. Nice & courteous clerk gave us a king with couch pullout bed. But when we got to room & pulled out bed, it was filthy. Not cleaned from prior visit. Tub drain was clogged with hair & paper. No dishes, glasses or eating utensils or cooking utensils in room. Nice Clerk did supply. Would not recommend staying again.

2022-06-03First room I went into I pulled back to sheets and come to my surprise there’s a large stain in the middle of the bed plus cigarette tobacco in the bed and small pubic hairs in the bed also, I immediately call the front desk and told him about it and I even showed it to them and he said that room is not clean, so they gave me another room oh and not to mention that each room I walked into it smelled musty and the room was very warm and the air conditioner was not on, so when I got into the second room there is no remote control for the TV so I called back to front desk and they said they would bring one up and I said forget it is I’m going to bed just noted that there wasn’t a remote control in the room. Worst stay I ever had in a hotel .

2022-06-26The only good thing I have to say is that the staff was friendly. Our room was so dirty. There was food on one of the burners, garbage was half full when we walked in the room, the tub was so disgusting and had a couple of bugs in it, bathroom sink dirty, no outlet cover where the blow dryer was plugged in and I could go on. We will not be staying again.

2022-04-11Upon checking in we were issued a room number and given our keys. As we made our way up to the 3rd floor I could not help but notice the hallways wreaked of marijuana, the lights in the hallway was very dim and the overall appearance lacked a welcoming vibe. Once we made it to the room number we were given we opened the door to find SOMEONE WAS ALREADY CHECKED IN TO THIS ROOM!. Their personal belongings were all over and you could tell the room had not just been missed by housekeeping, there was someone staying in this room. We went down to the desk and explained what happened. The gentleman working the desk was extremely nice however informed me that they did not have any more rooms available to my needs and if I wanted to get a refund I would have to reach out to Priceline in order to receive one. After talking with the gentleman for a few minutes he explained he may have a King sized suite available if I was interested in that. I was traveling home from a weekend dance competition with my two elementary aged daughters. At that point in time I decided I would take what I could get because all three of us were exhausted and I was not certain wed be able to find anything else in the area with that shirt notice. We were now given a room on the second floor. As we make our way up the overwhelming smell of marijuana again became present in the dim sketchy hallways. We made it to our room and were happy to find no other guests were occupying although the room was less than desirable, the floor did not look as if it had been vacuumed, the bathroom sink had some type of residue on the counter top, my youngest daughter found a lighter on the floor under the desk area, later on in the evening found what looked to be a chicken bone under the bed and the romote for the TV had no back on it so the batteries kept falling out. While using the staircase that led to the side exit door I noticed a ton of cigarette butts scattered all over the staircase. Once it was time to go to bed my oldest daughter volunteered to sleep in the recliner because there was obviously one bed available for three people, I discovered the walls were extremely thin, and quite a few guests were out in the hallways talking extremely loud using choice language. We decided to turn the fan up in the heater and were able to drowned out the noises. Although our stay definitely did not meet my expectations we were safe and able to get some sleep. Auburn Hills is a beautiful community and I expected my stay to reflect that. I actually opted to drive about 30 minutes away from where the dance competition was held and not stay in Pontiac to potentially avoid the type of situations we experience. I will say both Rodger the gentleman whom checked me in and Brooke (I think was her name) the lady whom checked us out were extremely nice.

2022-06-12Disgusting room and property. So many issues from the minute we walked in the room; holes in the walls to one of the most gross and stained with filth mattresses I have ever seen in use. We refused to stay the night. We were not expecting luxury at this price point but far cleaner should be required. Extended Stay, you should be embarrassed. Plus, the female check in clerk working today was very rude from hello and the entire property smelled.

2022-04-20Positive: Honestly nothing, this place is a dump I have called multiple times to try and resolve issues we had with our stay and the manager will not contact me. Negative: Was given a key to a room that was occupied. The key opened the room and we walked into guest that occupying the room already. Was told that there were no rooms available because there were guests occupying the room I was given. Filthy, no refund

2022-05-03Positive: Great location and friendly and helpful staff. Negative: Yes. The curtain was cut off at the bottom and thus not long enough to cover the window. And I had an ant on my pillow one night.

2022-06-24Had a reservation booked a week in advance. Arrived at the hotel and was told no rooms were available. Didn’t matter that I had a reservation. No help in finding another close by property. Staff really wasn’t interested in my problem. Still charged my credit card.
