Nothing wrong with the hotel itself... Slightly outdated but perfectly acceptable. The rooms are fine, some maintenance issues need to be addressed both in the rooms and in public areas of the hotel. Back and side doors do not always work, prompting an unexpectedly long walk back to your room from time to time. Certian staff members are slightly rude and dont really seem to care about the quality of service. Housekeeping services are nonexistent, they do NOT bring you towels or toilet paper, you have to walk down to the desk and get it yourself. They do NOT clean rooms even once a week if youre staying there. Seems like they only clean rooms between visitors despite all literature in room stating a weekly cleaning. No breakfast either. Maintenance guy is rude and needs to be told not to just barge into peoples rooms. Not trying to be rude, but I have never stayed at a hotel with service like this before. With just a little help this could be a really great place to stay.
The staff were AMAZING!!! Very friendly and accommodating to all our requests. If you are on a tight budget and need a space that offers a kitchen, this is an excellent choice. However, if you are someone who has very high standards... don’t think that this is going to suit your needs. The bed and pull out sofa bed are so uncomfortable that we still haven’t recovered... I have booked an appointment with my physical therapist. The shower does not allow water to come from the tub spout... so, be cautious if you need to bathe little ones. When we lifted the sofa cushions, there was crumbs and candy stuck to the sides and underneath of them... also food and candy under the mattress, as well as some very questionable stains on the pull out mattress.Keep in mind, all visible surfaces appeared to be well maintained and clean... this could very well have been a simple oversight between the last visitors and us.Unfortunately, my standards are a bit too high for this type of “affordable accommodation”, but I strongly encourage anyone that was like myself when I was in my 20’s... this would have suited me adequately for the price. To sum it up... if you are more concerned with cost over comfort, this is your place... if comfort is your priority, fork up the extra $ and stay at one of the neighboring properties.
Made our reservation months in advance through a third party system. At check-in, was told they gave our room away to their “repeat customers”. They moved us to their other location 10mins away. I have never been booted out of a hotel as a willing paying customer and over guest favoritism of all things.
Took pictures of any and everything that was NOT considered sanitary, or appealing. Mold in the bathroom tub, Dirty unclean dishwasher; pull-out couch mattress had stains that looked as if it no attempt was made to clean/sanitize it. Including evidence that the room was not cleaned out after its previous tenants had ended their stay. I Will Not, would not recommend this place to anyone.
The office manager is really friendly. The rooms are clean and so is the surrounding area outside. Very spacious especially in King size room! The bed is separated from kitchen and living room. Doesnt really feel like a typical hotel. Will most definitely be back in the future!
Heres my experience living here for several months: Strange odors occasionally fill the halls and the front desk staff can be a little rude at times. Cleaning crew, however, are some of the kindest people Ive ever met. The rooms themselves are very nice, and feature comfortable furniture and ample counter space. Its within walking distance to Chrysler, and close to Rochester Hills.
My room was the King which was perfect for a long term stay, which mine was. If you stay over 30 nights in Michigan, hotel room tax is waived as it’s considered rent. As far as price, you can’t beat the cost for the value of room. The manager, Frederick, did a great job on accommodating my additional work guests that I had coming to town. His attention to detail was exceeded only by his friendliness and willingness to make our stay better - that’s true hospitality. The outside could get a bit noisy at times, but I never had any noise issues throughout the night. In fact, it was surprisingly quiet. I only stayed one weekend (I went home during) and my neighbor was blaring music, but fortunately it was short-lived. So I can’t speak to weekend noise levels otherwise. I, and my three coworkers were pleased with our stay and would come back. Thanks, Frederick!
The staff was very unprofessional and high. You could smell the Marijuana on the hostess, as well as, visibly see she was under the influence of the drug. One employee was staffed but had obviously had friends with her keeping her company during her shift. They were loud and goofy, which greatly affected her quality of customer service. Then once my family was booked into our suite, we requested additional towels because the room had only 2 full sets of towels for a family of 4. My husband was told they were being laundered, and to come back in an hour. So he comes back a few hours later after, the towels still were not available. (FYI: We had to go to a familys member home to bathe). After returning from my inlaws, we phoned the front desk, from our room, the hostess thought we were an outside incoming call. We kept having to repeat our room number. Only to be told that well have to pick up our towels in the morning. The next morning, my husband goes to the front desk to request the towels, the employees couldnt find any towels. Overall not the worst experience, but management reeds to rehire and train professional employees.
Stayed here in November for a few days. The room was okay it was in the corner had kitchen, sofa bed, queen bed. Bathroom was really small and had crack inside the tub. The room smelled weird as soon as you entered. People upstairs were loud asl all day and night. Called nothing was done during entire stay, same day I got a call for controlling my noise at 7pm. Breakfast wasn’t even breakfast just snacks and drinks.
Room is ok. Not very good housekeeping. Wrappers and little beads on the floors. Sink was not cleaned. Hallways smell. Dishwasher is in room, but does not work. One of the two heaters/ac does not work.People yelling and running through the hallways at night. I have small children here and arent able to get a good nights rest. Its my first night here and i booked for extended amount of time. I hope this does not continue every night. Pros are lots of entry ways and lots of parking space so we can get close to a door near our room. Heater works great! Shower is spacious, good amount of channels on the television.
It was fairly clean, but for an extended stay hotel it didnt have the amenities I was looking for. Small room, the kitchen didnt come stocked with any dishes or silverware, there was no coffee maker in-room, and the free breakfast was a basket of granola bars and a pot of coffee. Also, the key reader on my door didnt work well - had to go to the desk twice because I couldnt get back in my room. The saving grace was the friendly desk clerk. You get what you pay for though...
The pictures online are not what is there now. It is very run down and overall disappointing. As soon as the doors open you are blasted in the face with Marijuana. I thought it was a guest perhaps that walked in before me, but when I walked in 3 hrs later and it was stronger, it was obvious that it was in the walls, a constant use and allowed on premises.Thankfully the Hampton is directly behind and they do not allow Marijuana in the hotel and the price was better. My kids did not deserve to be exposed to this let alone myself.Management apologized but we will not return. I suggest walking in and seeing a room before making a decision. Maybe they will make changes for your future visit.
I am shocked that this hotel does not have daily standards that the hotels on the same street have. 1st lets talk about how they never cleaned our room for 2 days, the kitchen had no dishes like most hotels, barely any pillows on the bed, mitch match lamps and one of them did not work , the telephone cord was ripped from the wall and didnt have a jack so we could never call the front desk, openly one trash can even though we got a suite so our guest had to keep coming in our room to through something away. No replacement for towels n rags. The only thing I like is that they were nice at the front desk I cant say they were mean and the heat in the rooms are awesome. Room was average clean but nothing detailed. Like others have said, if you are staying and just need a place to crash because you have quick things to do in Detroit its fine, but I would not stay here to enjoy your hotel.
I was turned off from the very beginning. We arrived around 7:45pm and as soon as we walked in the front door, the entire lobby wreaked of weed. The young girl at the front desk was very rude and acted as if we were bothering her by trying to check in. There was no reservation under our name or the confirmation number we were given. She told us the confirmation number means nothing to them and she walked back into the office and left us standing there. We figured that all out and got to our room (which smelled like weed also). The only fish in the room was a plastic to-go container bowl you get pasta salad in at the grocery store. The “desk” chairs were covered in stains. The worst part was that employees park right outside our window (which were not parking spots) so we couldn’t open our curtains the entire 10 days and they would sit there and blast their car music. If you are staying over 8 days, they clean your room. They came on day 8 which is ridiculous, should come halfway through your stay. Worst experience ever. Had the hotel not been booked through our employer, we would have left and found a new place to stay as soon as we walked in.
Location for what we needed. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate front desk help, cleanliness, room size, 2. The toilet even had issues and overflowed and again no help from management. There is no housekeeping unless of course youre willing to change your sheets and clean your room. I was told I could get supplies from front desk. I have never stayed at a hotel, motel accommodation which has had such poor accommodations ! I dont need 5 star accommodations but it would be nice to have a good management team to work with when paying their $$$ rate. Very disappointed! Its frustrating at midnight to have people going down the hallway knocking on every door😞
This was the worst stay I have ever experienced. I called a week before my stay to make sure I had a handicap accessible room. After being told on the phone that that is what I booked there would be no issue I SPECIFICALLY asked for a shower seat for my boyfriend who has spine abifita and also only has one leg. After arriving for my stay yes I was in a handicap accessible room but with no shower chair at all. After being specifically told it was a walk in shower with a chair it was A TUB! Which my boyfriend slipped in several times. Not only that but the first rooms they gave us were dirty. I went downstairs with pictures of the dirty rooms and requested to get some clean rooms. the second set of rooms I got (the reservation was for two rooms) one was cleaner the the first but still had its issues; I didnt complain for a second time and took the room BUT the other room they gave us was a room the housekeepers hadnt even been in. The customer service, Well lets just say the only employee that was professional and even nice to me was third shift! This place is an absolute joke. And I work at a extended stay america in Cincinnati Ohio.
This is a budget friendly stay wherein you are only allowed to stay. No meals provided but you can cook your own meal in kitchen inside your own room. Utensils are provided by hotel. You will get laundry service facility. Towels will be replaced immediately. Room cleaning done on weekly basis. At the front desk there is a lady called Christo and an uncle Shanu are really helpful and soft spoken. Support staff is also good.Morning coffee and muffins along with other snacks are provided in breakfast.Try to get room with front side view to have good observation area of surrounding and traffic.Location is banged on. All places nearby this hotel.
I wish I had taken pictures!! I drove 35 minutes, tired and ready to go to sleep and the room was HORRIFIC!! There were beer bottles, old nasty shoes (I didnt take pics because of covid 19, the room looked like it had it, no joke, I just wanted to hurry up and leave). It wasnt cleaned AT ALL!! I got a refund which I will have to wait a week to receive. This is so upsetting. I just wanted to go to sleep. Just made it to a friends house at 2:15 am
I really lived the room. The bed was comfortable. The layout of the room made it feel like it was bigger than it really was. I stayed in a room with a king size bed if that helps. Bathroom was clean, the shower was also. I didnt use the kitchen but it appeared clean. I also loved the couch, that was a nice surprise.
Ok. 1. Room smelled of cleaner over weed. 2. Not very clean. 3. Absolutely no information in room regarding the fact that they do not do daily housekeeping. Checked online to discover this. By now all towels were in one area on the floor awaiting service so went down and asked for more towels....um....was told I need to bring the other towels down that I want replaced. So had to carry a bunch of wet, dirty towels down to the front desk. 4. Rarely anyone attending the front desk. 5. Lost power while we were there (not their fault) but when tried to call while were out to see if the power was back on...the main line would not help and could not transfer me direct to the hotel we were at. Tried the number they gave me and noone ever answered the phone. Would like to say you get what you pay for, but Ive stayed in $40/night Motels and had a cleaner, nicer experience.
When we arrived at Extended Stay located on University Drive in Auburn Hills, MI we weren’t greeted by hotel staff for at least 20 minutes. We had a late check-in so we used true phone to try and contact someone, as we were waiting other people were filing into the foyer it became crowded as seven people waited to be checked in around 10:30 p.m. we finally got someone to let us in and waited another 10 mins someone finally greeted us. The hotel clerk was disshelved, unorganized, confused, rude and short tempered. She informed us that our room wasn’t available to us even though we had a reservation. She said the system was down and so she wasn’t able to accommodate any reservations and that she gave our room away. We tried to figure out what next and she offered us a king bed and a pull out couch but after our nasty experience we just wanted to leave. She then perked up that her boss recommended we stay at another location on Featherstone Road. We left and travelled there. The clerk and the customer service was so much better but the hotel experience was a thousand times worse. We arrived in our room and found that it was already open and unlocked. The bathroom appeared to be ok, but definitely was not. We found out that there was dried feces on the toilet that my grandma sat in. She’s an 80 year old woman who did not notice the bodily fluid. We also found long strands of hair wrapped around the faucet in the tub. We told the hotel clerk and she came up to clean the toilet and give us a complimentary room. We had an absolutely horrible stay. Do not stay here, it is absolutely disgusting and unclean.
Decent room for the price. My 3rd time staying here because its cheap. Floors are sticky and overall not very clean. Rooms have a fridge, microwave and stove. The breakfast room has coffee, tea, muffins and oatmeal. They are always out and you have to ask them to restock. I would recommend if you just need somewhere cheap to stay for a couple days.
Husband is working on a job so we stayed here, first impression was marijuana and beer bottles broken and a car window smashed open and glass EVERYWHERE. I have a dog so thats awful, not to mention the trash overflowing everywhere. Its gross. I had to complain 5 times in one night about noise because a woman left 4 kids with no supervision above us. During an alarm they stole pistols and walleta from hard working people! Alice, Tricia, and freddy were the only above service we received. Go to the sonesta next door. They have clean rooms, cameras, do light cleaning if requested, and pay for grilling amd have a pool. This extended stay is a trap house if that.
Well I’ve been living in this hotel for over a year! I work 1:20am to 11:50am the next day I went down to get toilet paper and Rick I do believe was his name said “you guys have all day to come down and get this stuff I don’t understand why you don’t “ I said to him well I’m sorry I work at night sleep during the day he then said well then get it in the morning! I didn’t know there was a time limit on when to get the stuff that I need after paying lots of money to stay here! Everyone else is wonderful mrs. arev is awesome but I mean if your having a bad I’m sorry just don’t take it out on the people that are supporting your business!
The customer service here is horrible. I have been here for a week. No housekeeping!!! Two different desk clerks gave me two different days on when the housekeeping comes. Neither day did housekeeping arrived. On top of that the toilet and bathroom sink has issues. The toilet overflowed on me a couple of times and you cant run the water in the bathroom sink too long r it will take the water some time to drain out the sink. Not to mention since I been here none of my issues have been addressed. When I first arrived I noticed the lock on the door was broken. They never came up and took a look. Then on top of that if I need to call the front desk I have to use my cell phone. The phone in my room is not working. This is my first experience staying at the extended stay of america and it may be my last. This has been a disappointing experience for me. Its like they dont care about the guests that stays here.
Great hotel. They are pet friendly, which is convenient and had ample parking when I visited. Breakfast in the morning. The downsides were that there was no coffee maker in the room when I got here or even plastic cups for that matter, their lack of signs to make finding rooms or the vending machines easy, just small things like that. But very clean and modern stay.
Cleaning service planned only once a week. And then only towels changed and bed made. I did not see any signs that the room was cleaned (dust still there, clear signs of actually cleaning were not present)Very poor services. And on top of that: I had to change the room after 5 days because the toilet kept getting clogged (Front desk said did sent one someone to unclog it). And second time the problem appeared they proposed to change the room. Which is not ok: you really need to pack and unpack again...-Very noisy fridge-I needed to go to the front desk for kitchen stuff (plates, cutlery...) they do not bring it to your room.I could write more but my time is worth more that spending on this Hotels review. Will never book there again....
You know at the end of the day you do get what you pay for this was a last-minute before school starts date anniversary trip for us dont pay for a hotel and expect Marriott service. The rooms were clean everything was neat and very basic which I would expect for what we got it for per night on Priceline it was a little odd not having any dishes of any kind in the room but I guess thats the business model for Extended Stay we simply went down for a couple cups and plates and we were all set. The other reviews mentioning the pillows being flat is incredibly accurate we had a total of six pillows between the two of us and they felt like we had almost 1 bed sheet folded up. Again not a complaint just information had I believe these reviews to really be people not just complaining about pillows I probably would have brought my own and should we stay here again I certainly will. So basic price basic service decent room for the cost the only reason not five stars is because the rooms being completely barren and the quality of the pillows. The breakfast downstairs is basically a grab-and-go theres no real hot food its cereal bars muffins things you can grab on the Run but free and included within the price is still nice.*****update after shower***** so I will still keep my 4 star rating. However the other reviews stated the water in the shower was not very warm. This is completely correct! I let the water go for more then long enough.... But at best it was luke warm. That is really a disappointment but again..... We only paid $36 on Priceline so Ill deal with it.
We arrived on a cold, windy day and were very tired from a long drive. Frederick who checked us in was a ray of sunshine. Very helpful and most accommodating.Special thanks to Richard the Manager and Mark for our chit chats. Our room 144 was perfect and hopefully be coming back soon.Anne & Lonnie Prince
Although I just got here Today I give it a 4 Stars not bad ladies in front desk our nice I love the room I got its really clean smells good in here I would recommend it if youre looking for something clean and really decent front desk been nice so far hopefully my experience here of the remainder of the week will be great 👍👍
The room was clean and nice but as I tried to go to sleep I couldnt get any rest. I kept itching all over my body, when I turned on the light I noticed huge whelps all over my body. I dont know if they got bed bugs or what but something tore me up. I ended up switching rooms at like 4 in the morning and didnt have any issue in that bed.
The room was nice, The vending machine and ice maker wasnt working. You had to ask for dishes, which I can understand. Asked for coffee maker he gave us the wrong items for the little coffeemaker. One thing that was the worst was the lady that worked at the front desk in the morning.......She was extremely rude asked for a iron that worked she rolled her eyes, reach out for the non working iron. No answer just really really rude. If you didnt want to come to work you should have stayed home... :-(. :-(
Not a good experience! We had a reservation and after 12 hours of traveling when we finally reached this hotel at 8:30 pm on a Saturday; no body was at reception ( not a problem). However, when we did get a hold of the receptionist, she told us that they dont have any rooms available. We were shocked to hear this and the lady didnt even make a slightest effort to be nice about it.She was extremely rude. It seemed like she didnt want us to stay there or us asking for explanation because she could care less. Not recommended at all!!!
The room was disgusting! The towels were filthy. The night manager did not want to give me a blanket for the sofa mattress. I was there for 4 days. I got a different room everyday with the same filth and nasty smell I was planning on staying for another 5 days but decided to go elsewhere. NEVER GO TO THE EXTENDED STAY ON FEATHERSTONE IN AUBURN HILLS MI NEVER
No breakfast available, staff informed us they ran out ... On a weekday. Any time I incurred the desk, I had to ring the bell or call if they had the music up too loud, as often happened. Also, all kitchen amenities had to be retrieved from staff, which wasnt easy to carry all the way back, and should have been told to me at check in. The room and price was decent, but feel like false advertising is at work in this high compition area.
It was somewhere to stay while working in the area. The shower handle was loose, one of the lamps didnt work at all. There was no plates, bowls, etc in the kitchenette. The staff was either extremely helpful or couldnt be bothered to answer the phone or come to the desk.
The room was very nice and had a lot to of space. Customer service was very poor and didnt know how to calculate simple math. I had a promo code that gave me 15% off and they tried to charge me full price plus taxes and would then refund me the amount back from the 15% of. . . .they ran my card several times which then got flagged Bc my bank thought it was fraud. Also the room did not have any trash cans and no ice machine anywhere in the building!
I had high hopes for this Extended Stay since the website claimed they had recently gone through renovations. When you first walk into the hotel, the lobby seems to be well-decorated and designed. The room itself at first glance looks nice until you get a closer look. The inside of our toilet was rusting and there was noticeable dirt and grime along the crevices in the bathroom and flooring. The bedding/sheets were dirty and had cigarette holes. We also found a small roly poly-looking bug crawling on the floor. The free breakfast included room-temperature coffee, packets of oatmeal, and a few plastic-wrapped muffins. The worst part was the lack of hot water for the shower. The first night our water was lukewarm at best. When I went to talk to the front desk about it, they mentioned something about how the room we were in should have been ok... and gave us a room key to another hotel room. When I asked if we should move all our belongings to this new room, the lady said no, that that would just be the room where we would take a shower.Overall, everything just felt dirty and unclean. It seemed as though no real cleaning was done in between guests, but rather house-keeping just rearranged everything in the rooms and tried to get away with as little cleaning as possible. I wouldnt be surprised if I brought home bedbugs - stay away if at all possible.
My biggest complaint is that the hotel does not appear to be able to operate at full capacity. The rooms are suites with a small kitchenette and you have to go to the front desk to get dishes and cookware. No biggie, they clearly state that on their website. However, they were almost always out of dishes and could not accommodate the simple request for something they promise to guests. They do have a free breakfast, but it is basically just prepackaged granola bars/muffins and bad coffee. I suppose it works for something quick, but it is definitely not very good. They were also frequently out of the few things they actually did serve for breakfast, so again they are not able to provide things they promise. The management (and employees) are not very helpful. Some are friendly (as many people are naturally) but many are not helpful or friendly. I have a feeling this comes from the top down so I have a hard time blaming non-managememt employees. The rooms are pretty basic (which is okay, thats the expectation), but there are very few amenities so you really dont get anything more than a room. The way they do room service also feels like they are just nickel and diming you, chargining more for basic room service. Most other hotels just do things like ask you to hang up your towels if you dont need them changed, for example. This is stated on their website as well, but the extent of which isnt super clear until youre actually checked in.For a night or two, I suppose this hotel will do. But for anything anywhere near an extended stay, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.Based on my experience, I actually checked out early and found a room at another hotel. I also will not consider this hotel again in the future. I dont consider myself to be a particularly picky person, but many things about this place gave me bad feelings. Also, with the nickel and dime approach, this hotel may not actually be any cheaper than similar local hotels.
Now my experience was ok. I thought housekeeping suppose to check stayovers. I got in the room and it was snacks etc. From god knows when... And a onion bag left in the refrigerator. And a used face towl in the bathroom...nHousekeeping needs to do better. Im a housekeeper myself at a hotel and they would never have that going! I advise someone to check rooms when housekeepers are done cleaning.
My fella and I stayed at this hotel in September. We chose it, due to its proximity to the hotel and its price. While many things about our stay were acceptable, we simply couldnt overlook a completely horrific nights sleep.Pros:- clean- large rooms- continental breakfast (only a pro, because I wouldnt have expected anything for the price. That said, it was granola bars and oatmeal-- just an FYI).Cons:As luck would have it (or, in this case, not), our room was situated between what appeared to be 4 rooms that had been rented to a group having a hotel party. This party included about 20 college-aged kids. From roughly 10pm to 3pm, they did the following:- hung out in the hallway- blasted music from both their rooms and in the hallway- talked/yelled/laughed in the hallway (and could be heard in their rooms)- ran back and forth between the 4 rooms, slamming door repeatedlyWe called the front desk to ask if they could do something about the noise-- at least, have them take their party into their rooms, where the sounds were muffled (but could still be heard clearly from our room).Initially, we were met with apologies from the front desk, and we even heard a hotel employee ask the party to refrain from sitting in the hallway and creating this disruption. However, nothing seemed to dampen the spirits of the party. Whats more, the front desk gave up trying to contain it. The last time we called them (around 2 am), the response we received was, Well, what do you want us to do about it? We asked them to stop. When we inquired about their policy for guest conduct and disturbance of the peace, the front desk rep. simply said, Well, sorry, but they are paying guests, too. They have the right to use their room as they wish. We were stunned, and asked for clarification-- were we to understand that the other guests in the hotel werent going to be permitted to have a nights sleep that they paid for, because some kids wanted to scream, yell, and drunkenly carry on all night? The answer was Sorry, all we can do is put the name on the reservation on an exclusion list for future stays, and were told that there was nothing more they would do for us in the meantime. The only reason the noise stopped was because the booze wore off and, slowly, they all went to sleep. Around 3:30, the music was turned down low enough that we were able to get some sleep.I am utterly perplexed and angered by the actions taken on the part of this Extended Stay. Im not sure why these guest were permitted to ruin a nights sleep for the rest of the hotel guests. Im not sure why there is no policy in place for hotel parties, number of guests permitted in rooms after certain hours, noise levels, etc. I know that other hotels I have stayed in (all of the budget variety) have these firmly in place. Had it not been for these guests, it would have been a 4-star experience. Unfortunately, the night we experienced was completely unacceptable, and I feel compelled to warn others. We will never stay in an Extended Stay, again.
I stayed at the Aurburn Hills location off Featherstone Rd. The front desk customer service was exceptional, as always. The room was clean for the most part, but I found dirty towel in between some other folded towels. This was no stain, it actually had some kind of thick yellow substance on it. I was absolutely disgusted. I let them know, and I received an apology.
Worst place to stay, infested with bed-bugs. Management, if you want i can post pictures. Worst still, i had booked online and had got the discounted rate, they did not entertain that too despite the fact (and admitting to it that) they had bed bugs. Agreed they moved me to a different room after 2 days but the other room wasnt any better. Moved out next door to Sonesta and was a happy camper for next 3 months.
The manager was rude during check in. When it was time to go to sleep I found multiple bed bugs in my bed. I was switched to another room after being told that my room should have never been rented out due to it being under maintenance for bed bug infestation. The manager acted as if bed bugs are not a big deal and that I should have been happy I was given another room. This place deserves to be shut tf down.
Room was gross and pull out bed was covered in crumbs and stains... Told the front desk and they said someone *might* come and switch it the next morning(which is already too long) but of course no one did. You could tell the floor wasnt vacuumed well and hard surfaces werent mopped properly
Terrible experience due to fraudulent charges on card and stolen card information shortly after visit. Every time I called to discuss the matter, the manager was never in to take the call. Decided to call corporate and got the fraudulent hotel charges refunded but the stolen information was used again at a different establishment. Ended up having to get new cards. The hotel itself was alright, price is kinda steep for what we had. Not staying here again.
On top of the horrible stay I experienced along with being kicked out in the middle of the night without warning or reason, I was refused my refund of almost $300 and to make matters worse I lost over $200 worth of food because I had nowhere else to bring it. They have been absolutely horrible with their customer service and I will apparently be having to get a lawywer to get my refund because they seem to think they can get away with everything
There is no shower curtain in bathroomand the dresser has saw dust in it so not able to lay clothes in iy. When i called front desk with my concerns he said he couldnt help me . Management will be in at 830. He said u didnt check room . I didnt think i had to make sure shower curtain would be missing or dist in the dtawers.i checked in late last night and was tired. Clock dont working in room either.
My wife and I are military veterans. We paid for a regular room but was put in a handicap room that had major problems from the shower, TV not working properly to playing with them heater to get it working and little things things in the room just broken. But this was a handicap room. We were moved 3 different times to rooms once again that were handicapped. These rooms had containers under the sink to catch the water from the pipes, dirty sheets with candy paper and marijuana roaches in the sofa sleeper. We were offered a free stay if we were to come back in the future. This is how you treat your handicap and military veterans, NO THANK YOU!!!!!
Although the rooms were suites with kitchens, none of the rooms initially had dishes. We had to go down to the lobby to get our own dishes. We waited 35-40 mins in the cold lobby for the dishes and had to stock them in the cupboards and drawers ourself. Most of our rooms were cold. My sister’s room was so cold she had to turn on all the burners on the stove and boil a pot of water just to stay warm! The manager on staff, who happened to be The General Manager came to her room and told her he couldn’t move her and she just needed to give the room time to warm up, mind you she had been in the room 2 hours by then! A young gentleman asked Ken The General Manager who was for some reason working the front desk for an extra blanket and instead of accommodating the man, he proceeded to question him about how many people were in his room. The young man replied it was just he and his girlfriend, and said his girlfriend was cold and wanted another blanket. This wasn’t good enough for Ken he continued to badger the young man about possibly having extra people in his room. Eventually the young man become weary of his combative tone and interrogated and left without the blanket. I truly believe if the young man’s skin color were different Ken would have provided him the extra blanket with a smile. Then again maybe Ken The General Manager is just a jerk to everyone? However, I did witness how he spoke and interacted with some of the black employees and it wasn’t with respect at all. If Ken The General Manager has a dislike or pre-judgement of certain races of people maybe he shouldn’t work at an establishment where the majority is of that particular race? Just a thought...
This place was GROSS. When we walked in there was no one at the front desk. I coughed loudly and was trying to get the womans attention who I saw in the back room. She literally ignored me for about ten more minutes until I finally had to say hello is anyone working here she then came over and acted like it was my fault. The room itself was disgusting. The carpet near the bed has what looked like BLOOD stains all over and the tv kept going in and out. The walls has stains all over them and the bed was gross. This place is dirty and disgusting dont waste your money.
My experience was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. I am requesting immediate attention to this matter. I booked a room original confirmation number 139517430. On 10/4/18 I called the hotel to extend my stay and Spoke with Fiona. Fiona was very courteous and extended my stay at my request through 10/7/18 she moved us to a new room, room 104 because she stated that she had already booked the room that we were currently in. On 10/6/18 at 3 am we were woken up by loud knocking and someone entering our room without our permission telling us that our room was supposed to be clean and we were not supposed to be there. I immediately responded that there must be some type of mistake and tried to reference our confirmation number. Tyisha who had woke us up refused to listen and instead called the police to have us evicted from the room. I then called my employer whom the room is booked through for Tyisha to speak and she refused to take our confirmation from him as well instead she forced him to speak with a police officer. After speaking with the officer my employer was forced by Tyisha to pay online for another room therefore double paying. Tyisha refused to listen to any logic and blamed the whole situation on us rather than first start with looking up our confirmation number. It is now 3:45 am and we have decided to leave the hotel as we are too upset to fall back to sleep. Long story short, we were woken up at 3 am, demanded money from staff, threatened to be thrown out of our room that has already been paid for. This was ONE THE WORST EXPERIENCES OF MY ENTIRE LIFE.
This place is clean...welcoming....and just a very nice experience all around and trust me in my profession i look for cleanliness...i would recommend this place to all who come to michigan... And just to get away is also nice as well very family oriented as well thank you all for the opportunity to spend time here i will be back...title Mdhhs...shawntel vickery
Very Pleased. Leaky faucet and some loose food things in a cabinet were addressed very quickly. I think my only drawback is the dishwasher that takes away cabinet space, but that is probably only me where most people would prefer not to do dishes by hand. And it isnt something that can be changed.
The front desk assistant desk Manger was VERY rude and confrontational. A pool is advertised and they DO NOT have one. I asked for a proof a check in and check out the assistant manager then raised his voice and refused to do it for me saying that he does not produce that type of document. He threw his arms up in the air then walked in the back and you could hear him speaking very loudly about us to another employee. When we told him that Google and expedia both advertise that they have a pool he ran to the back. He threatened to call the police and we never even raised our voices or got confrontational with him at all. I do not reccomened this place.
Really sucks. It was poorly managed, dirty and unacomandating. Still trying to get corporate management to return my phone calls. Rated a 1 star because you cant rate zero. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. BTW I havent listed half of the problems we encountered during our stay
I would like to share my personal experience in Extended stay America. House keeping is worst, no security to your belongings, someone entered in my room and stolen $200 from my purse when I was sleeping. The room rent has been debited two times for the same dates. The hotel representatives are not responding properly. I am really frustrated in this hotel.
This place is horrible management and HR cheat people out of the hours employees as I should stay they sit there and give part-time 40 hours and take full time hours from them the way I feel that thats fair know why I recommend anybody to get hired here no because they will not treat you right and you stay at the same page when you get hired in they do not give out raises this year we got a letter from HR stating that we will not get a raise Ive been at the same pay for the last three years and its not even over $12
This is the second extended stay in. Michigan weve stayed at, both places we have experienced being woke up all hours of the nite by loud people in the halls and the smell of marijuana in the halls, the staff seems be to nice and the hotel is clean, Just always seem to have people with no respect staying here
Rooms are nice and clean.one thing that i dont like is that they said the is smoke free but is no truth when you walk to the front lobby smell like smoke and the rooms the smoke goes from one room to the other i call the front desk and complain about it they said nothing that they cant do.what they need to do kick those people off their room.falls advertisements of smoke hotel.
Ms.Deandra knows her job inside and out she goes above the call of duty as a front desk clerk in customer satisfaction you do not always get this service in a 5 stars hotel sometimes . Ms. Deandra offers excellent customer service and extremely pleasant always to speak with whenever I have questions or concerns. Thank You Ms. Deandra you deserve 10 STARS for your dedication hard work and great Customer awareness and services.I applaud you for this..Keep up the great work Ms. Deandra.Liked it due to the front desk this is where it all begins and with a beautiful smile doing so...First impression is a lasting impression. This young lady deserves an appreciation and great job acknowledgement from her superior. This property is located in a great area safe and quiet with many great restaurants nearby and down the street is Chrysler Headquarters also about 10 miles a huge indoors mall Great Lake Crossings a must visit and more.Thank you Ms. Deandra for making my stay such a great and very pleasant experience..and also the management team, and staff .I must say a great team (Markita Housekeeping) also very very pleasant doing her job with a big smile I have not seen her any differently sense my stay; also very helpful when I have needs.Thank you Sincerely

2022-06-06I reserved a room online for a Suite with Queen size Bed + Full size Bed + Sofa Bed, Refrigerator, Microwave, etc. Upon arrive they dont have any rooms with 2 beds much less what we reserved. Even though we showed them reservation they said they dont have any rooms like that, it was not their fault and offered no rate reduction. Ended up staying because we already had one hotel that overbooked and had no room for us.Refrigerator did not work, Cleanliness was marginal, and both the bed and sleeper sofa were very uncomfortable, Breakfast to go was an offering of warm coffee and some muffins. What a joke.Staff was rude and unaccommodating. If we didnt like it we could leave but they offered no refund ... we would have to talk to booking agent company.

2022-04-25I first want to say Im upset I didnt take pics. Next, I will honestly and check in was easy and staff was very friendly and helpful. NOW..... We had 2 adults and 1 teenager. They placed us in a 1 bed (honestly dont even think it was a Queen sized bed) and a pull out sofa! My teenager said its okay, I dont mind the pull out sofa. So, that evening we go to set up the sofa and upon pulling it out the mattress was DISGUSTING!!! The mattress was paper thin, heavily soiled with idk what, several different colored stains! When notifying t front desk we were informed that they couldnt do anything but offered us a mattress pad! I wouldnt let my dog sleep in that, let alone my child!!! Next, we have this small television that had a cracked very visible screen. There were holes in the walls. The iron was practically useless and do light weight. The internet isnt included unless you want the slow dsl version. The actual bed itself was so loud and uncomfortable. I cancelled after the first night, I just cant see paying to stay like this. Once again... My issue isnt with the staff, but the hotel itself just sucked!!

2022-01-20WOW! I can’t believe i just had this experience… I would NEVER treat someone like this. If you want good vibes, dont come to ESA period. The kitchenette and desk is nice… but if you want a good nights rest, skip this place. The one off Doris road is okay, I would have enjoyed my stay if the beds were good. I havent experienced this much back pain in awhile. That is why I switched to the Featherstone location very closeby. Better bed indeed!!! But these geniuses decided to get a deal on fake hardwood and now i know why all hotels have carpet. Instead of sleeping, I was listening to someone roll around in their office chair on these lovely floors. So either choose quieter, loud highway noise, horrible bed, with great kitchenette and desk i will say even though the burners smelled like burning plastic and when i wiped the burners they were black and ruined my towels. But i enjoyed the kitchen, i wish they had studio apartments like that. Or choose the other location that is very loud. I failed to get good sleep and peace here but what can ya do… its good for when you need a place like this.. i am honestly inspired to open my own hotel after this experience. How hard is it to be kind?? Especially when its your job to provide customer service- Primarily so!!!! Blown away. I cant stand being treated like garbage ESPECIALLY when im paying decent money Okay. Wow. Thats what I have to say. They refunded my money and when i needed another night, which i was going to book anyway most likely, they told me i was forbidden, because the boy next door at Sonesta when i booked there and then was told i couldnt check in until hours later…working told me “youre an adult so figure out what you need to do”. So then i go back to ESA and they book my room for another night. Then! I get a call saying Sonesta called them and i am forbidden from staying here. I am just blown away lol. Evidently the police are there all the time dealing with stuff like this, said a fellow hotel stayer who was there awhile. She recommended somewhere else. Honestly i would have preferred to pay a higher price and experienced fair treatment, then to get my room refunded, yet deal with this ridiculousness. The employees are visibly unhappy here, as well, and the managers are anxious.

2022-04-10Me and my boyfriend needed some where to lay out head for the night and as we are settling into our room we found a roach in the kitchen crawling into the burner. This place may look clean but it’s not. Need to get this problem fixed. I will never go there again.

2022-06-05Rude staff with absolutely no understanding of professionalism. Also, the inability to effectively communicate with customers to address and solve specific problems. Never have I dealt with someone who cares so little about their jobs to the point of such blatant incompetence.

2022-06-10Negative: General maintenance issue, door deadbolt out of adjustment would not close, and security latch broken off on door. Sink drains could use cleaning to flow w/ standing water

2022-01-03We stayed for 7 miserable nights in room 130 for $570 for the week and I had to wipe down what I could with Clorox wipes to make the room clean enough to cook and use for the week. I threw away our carpet runners when we left from the filthy floor and we never unpacked our food or clothes the entire time. The room was absolutely FILTHY! Every rack, clothing bar, counter top, cooking surface, wall, was either dusty, dirty, had caked on filthy stains or all of the above. Specifically...cockroach crawling across stovetop on our second night. Greasy coating on kitchen walls, stovetop and fan. Refrigerator filthy inside and out. The floor of the room was BLACK when wiped. Obviously, the NEVER mopped hardwood floor is only carelessly swept and not actually disinfected and cleaned between guest visits. The sheets were dirty with hair and mystery spots when we pulled the covers back after check in. We asked for CLEAN bedding and I remade our bed. The WALLS of the entire room where stained and splattered with God knows what! The sofa bed was disgusting and filled with crumbs, dust and hair. The toliet paper dispenser had caked on FECES, which I tried to clean and gave up due to I was gagging and almost vomited and then I covered it with paper towel and tape. The tub had mold in several places and the walls and door of the bathroom was disgusting with stains and filth. The outside of the hotel was disgusting like the inside with garbage and dog feces EVERYWHERE. We were stressed and overly cautious walking our dog everyday, trying to avoid other guests dog feces that they never picked up and CLEARLY, the hotel doesnt enforce clean up. We will NEVER stay at this filthy place again and do NOT recommend this extended stay to other families needing accommodations.

2022-01-20Friendly staff but the room was terrible. Stained carpet throughout the room. I believe there was a leak with the sink. Hand prints on the windows. Not a good experience...
