Comment: I have been storing my valuables first at The Storage Spot and now Extra Space Storage for over fifteen years. Originally the longtime manager Lisa took very good care of the property and her renters. In fact I rented a second unit and Lisa gave me the same price for each.The original owners sold the property sometime in 2017 or 2018 and kept Lisa to manage the complex. Thats when the owners raised the unit prices by almost 50%.Then the second owners sold to another party. Lisa was let go. The third owners decided to either have Extra Space Storage manage and/or sold to them. Then the prices went up again. Then I decided to get combine two units into one. I talked to the manager Carlos about any discounts for longtime renters. They gave me a 5% discount because I am a senior citizen.Last month they raised their unit prices again. Enough!!! I decided to more my valuable to another facility that was almost 50% less and a better location.Extra Space Storage only cares about their bottom line $$$. They pack every space available with cars, trucks, trailers, and RVs. A big truck has a hard time maneuvering around the corners!!! I surmise the manager gets a bonus for the percentage of units and parking space available.There was recently a fire that burned down part of their earning potential. Now Extra Space has to charge more to make up for their lost earnings!

Comment: Extra Space Storage purchased a storage facility I was already in. In fact, it was the third owner. It raised the rent considerably From $200 a month to $324 a month. I got out as soon as I could, but it took a while. Pros: It has long hours of accessibility, seven days a week.The people who run it are unfailingly polite and accommodating. Cons: This particular facility needs to upgrade the weatherstripping on the outside storage doors. Each winter, water gets in and all kinds of grit blows in under the door. I dont expect stored items to be pristine, but theres a lot of dirt that blows in and the stored items closest to the door get wet on the concrete. Generally speaking, there is a glut of storage facilities everywhere, and its clear that people in the industry are competing for customers to get them in the door, having to offer cut-rate incentives, only to raise them after a month or two. For existing customers, its worse, since they have to make up their money on you. They can raise rates knowing that it will take a while for you to get your things out.

Comment: The prices are iffy. I have a storage unit here and I am charged more than others are paying. I was told it was more due to a convienence fee as to where my unit is located. But there is no mention whatsoever in my contract to a convienence fee for location of the units. So for that reason I dont like it. Unfortunately at this time I have no way to change storage facilities. Also, I do not like the fact that there is a dumpster on site but tenants are not allowed to throw away anything at all in it.

Comment: Friendly helpful operators. Average storage prices.I recently went shopping for storage space. This turns out to be one of the more reasonably priced places. Still the same friendly helpful couple running the operation.

Comment: The other day I went to Lock It Up Storage just to inquire about some information and rates. The lady in the office, I think her name was Laurie, was an amazing help! She was super friendly and answered all of my questions. Soon after speaking with with her I was sold...I unexpectedly ended up grabbing a lot that day. Plus, the lots were really well taken care of and in a very respectable area, so I was impressed. Thanks again Laurie for all your help :)
