Also the general manager is a sweetheart!!! Willing to go that extra step! Take my advice it’s worth the drive to Salinas and it’s a nice drive on Highway 68.

Comment: 100% the worst place to store your belongings. Don’t be fooled by the 5 star ratings, they ask you to write them a review as you are just moving in when things seem great. After 4 months of storing your stuff they will price increase your unit by $50-100 or more. They price increased my first unit so much I had to sell 60% of my belongings and downgrade to a smaller unit. Now once again they have increased that unit to almost what i was paying for my original unit. Now ill have to consider relocating because of their ridiculous price gauging. I’ve been there a year and its the same fight every 4 months. Not to mention the same company less than a mile away is about 65% cheaper to store your stuff. I’ll say the people that work there are lovely but the price gauging is what makes this a 1 star review. Would recommend you don’t get a unit here unless you enjoy throwing your money into the trash.

Comment: Extra Space Storage is a pricing scam. After 3 months they just notified me that they are increasing my unit from $86.00 base to $161.00 not including fees which bring the total up $172.20. When contacted as to why they were nearly doubling the rate, the answer was because they could. Do not rent out a storage unit here. They want you to rent and then jack up the rates. I received no email notifications, just a sealed postcard notice that I assume they believe most people throw out. This is going to be a huge inconvenience to have to move out of the storage unit and find another one which is why they are doing this.In response to the Extra Space automatic robot response. I did call. Both local and corporate. This is a scam that you are running at all of your locations.

Comment: The absolute worst storage rental I have ever had in 30 years of renting storages no carts paid for a lot that wasn’t in the storage after you load a vehicle full of boxes the last thing you want to do is walk each box down to your storage so as soon as I can pack my stuff and be out of this one, I definitely will find a different when I hear the other extra space storage is very niceThe Mgr of this Extra Space contacted me by noon the very next day. Apparently they can’t put the carts out due to theft, so she assured me yes, there is a cart over by the office. It was a misunderstanding about the lock. My first storage I had rented online so the directions were a little different. The pricing was better online I have to say, so yes, it wasn’t the happiest storage experience I ever had but I do have to say that the manager did her very best to accommodate my needs once she knew what they were and I appreciate that very much

Comment: Customer service is great. The only complaint I have are the field mice. Apparently they got into the storage unit and ate through alot of the boxes and bags and destroyed my girlfriends important paperwork and documents and a lot ofClothing she had stored for her children. Hopefully they address this issue and seal off any gaps and or openings so that way the next renter won’t have to deal with the mice. Other then that I have no complaints.

After a very simple 2 key strokes for the automated routing, I was talking to a real human. I explained my needs briefly and Holly answered every question very promptly and understood exactly what I needed. Then, to my great amazement, she offered me a promotional rate of a free month. Suspecting had been misunderstood, I explained again that I only needed a short term rental. And, she reiterated that I could still take advantage of the offer. I was speechless. Of course. I took the offer. She promptly made my reservation and I explained my pleasure for having received such excellent customer service. I was contacted immediately by the local firm. Edward knew exactly what I needed without having to repeat myself. Again, I was very impressed at the prompt and precise responses. I drove over and he too provided effortless service, far above expectation. In minutes, I was given the rental and shown the property.Perfectly clean, and utterly convenient. He had me enter the gate code and I was on my way.No other firm Ive dealt with has ever been so exceptionally prompt and professional. This should be a case study at Harvard Business.

They make you give them a good review right when you sign up for the unit.After renting from them for 5 months I decided to move my stuff out. First of all they raised my rent nearly 50% without any notice! Furthermore the month they raised the rent I also did not receive an email receipt despite receiving a receipt every prior month. I only got an unexpectedly high charge on my credit card auto-pay and had to call them to inquire. So the whole thing was very shady seeming. If they had any business sense they would only raise rent by a smaller amount and I may not even care but a 50% increase is very hard to disregard!Even worse they have a serious rodent problem. My unit and my stuff had mouse or rat droppings all over the place when I moved out. This is completely unacceptable since not only is this storage unit overpriced I had to trow out some my stuff because of the rodent issue.With all the other storage options all over town, I recommend you take your business somewhere else!

Staff is excellent, the gate hours are awesome and prices are very affordable and it all works out great for me Im sure it will for anyone else!! Thanks a lot extra space storage! Comment: I made an online reservation and literally within 5 minutes a very friendly Amber called checking in. She was very helpful and informative. She helped me figure out the perfect size unit I need. Informed me about insurance options and helped me lease the unit in a pretty quick manner. Ive looked around salinas and the gate access hours are the best in town closing access at 10 p. m. Happy with my storage choice.

Comment: I needed a storage unit on fairly short notice and made an inquiry reservation online and received a call to make an appointment to view the unit I wanted super quickly. The next day, I went back to actually secure my unit and the manager Amber was sweet, helpful and made the whole experience super easy. I have never rented a storage unit before and she answered all my questions. Definitely recommend this storage place.

Comment: Just got a unit at Extra Space and have to say it was a wonderful experience. Lori was very nice, called me back right away and was very professional. When I arrived she met us at the door with a smile. The grounds were very clean as was the unit. We were in and out in less then 30 mins including paperwork. Must say I was very impressed. Would recommend Extra Space to anyone looking for a clean, secure and very friendly storage site. Thanks Lori you are the best!

Comment: Very good service...Lori the manager was very easy going professional. I also met Isaac same way. Very clean facility and also I love the hours till 10:00 pm. Im sold! I was referred by a friend I will recommend them to anyone that asked!
