Comment: I had a very positive experience with the team at the 4567 Oceanside Blvd location today.The office people were fun to talk to. They even me let me vent about my roommate issues, lol. And walked me to my unit so it would be easier to find later. Ive used Extra Space a couple times over the years, and I really like the relaxed sign up process.I think the location is fairly safe crime-wise, but I dont keep a lot of valuables in mine. I use ESS for moves and temp storage, but the drive up units can get pretty hot in the summer so use some common sense for sensitive items/documents.

Comment: My sister and I came in the office less than 5-10 minutes before they close. My sister and I have conflicting schedules so we tried to rush and make it at the office. I was not comfortable deciding which storage space to rent based on what I saw online, I had to see it in person. Mike and Rodney stayed over their time to accommodate us. Mike showed us a couple of units. Take note the units are far from each other. The second unit was a better fit, so we rented that one. We appreciated the time they had given us. The 24/7 air conditioning keeps wood and fabrics stable and in good shape over the months, and theres pest control along every hallway, too. The units are quite high, so you can stack your items and possibly rent the next smaller space only.

Comment: I am updating my review. If I could give this disgusting place zero stars I would. I have been a loyal customer within a 6 year period. I have always came to this storage first before any other. I also have never had problems at this location until my most recent move in.About a week after I moved in, I went to pick up my double stroller. About an hour after I got back to store it back, there was an infestation of ants in my unit. they were coming over from the unit next to me and migrating under the carpet where my door opens. Unfortunately because it happened on a Sunday, I couldn’t get to no one. On Monday, the following day; when I called to report the ants. RODNEY had answered the phone and was cool until I mentioned the ants and he immediately turned into a damn SNOB! I was keeping my cool until I just couldn’t handle his attitude anymore. I told him I wanted his managers information and he didn’t want to give it to me after a back and forth argument. He was so UNPROFESSIONAL!!! The best option they had for PEST CONTROL WAS FREAKIN RAID !!!! I could’ve bought the raid myself and taken care of it myself but out of respect for their property I chose to wait to call them. Once after he gave me his managers name, who she is located at the Extra Space off N Melrose, she had her employees back, and told me he was deciding to KICK ME OUT because of HIS FEELINGS AND ME CURSING HIM OUT FOR HIS ATTITUDE! this place was great YEARS AGO and now it’s just a nasty, run down, old place. I found such a great storage that does not compare to this one. I regret ever thinking this storage place here is a great place for storage. Biggest mistake! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR STUFF HERE!!!!

Comment: Be aware of price increases, I am leasing a storage unit and was told I was locked in at $175 a month with the online price for a 7x10, not even 3 months later increased $100, was told the prices fluctuate like rent, when I called in about it. A flux of 36%. I Bet you they never decrease the prices back down, but for sure will increase it more in the future. Whats the point of signing at a rate if they can just change it on you from month to month? Highly unrecommended

Comment: By far the most evil “business” in existence. Never mind the bate & switch tactics, you can google all about the class action lawsuits against Extra Space to learn more. My family was a loyal customer for over 2 decades at this location. Over the last 3 yrs I went into the office in person to update billing & address info several times. However, while my mother was dying in the hospital, an old credit card they *conveniently* failed to update expired. They sent all delinquency notices to an address that my family hadn’t used in over 20 yrs. After burying my deceased mother I went to my unit to find that it had been sold off. I lost everything in the unit without any notice, and with missing just 2 months of payment. I have no doubt my family was targeted by some extremely shady methods. If you value what you store, please don’t use Extra Space. There are many independently operated storage facilities in this area that won’t do you or your family dirty. You’ll notice any positive reviews are not from long term customers. I’ve witnessed plenty of suspicious activity in & around the units over the years. As a native Osider, I can confidently state that this is the worst business in town, and the worst I’ve ever encountered - and that’s really extraordinary.The generic response from this business to my review is pathetic. My experience wasn’t “negative” - it fundamentally altered my view of humanity. The staff here lied & cheated my family of our priceless heirlooms. They purposefully failed to update my billing info after multiple attempts. We were targeted. My many phone calls were never returned & desperate inquiries into the sell off of my belongings were rejected. The negligent & ice cold behavior of the staff at this location will never be forgotten. Please, don’t make my mistake & avoid this evil place.

Comment: I found Extra Space Storage on Yelp and decided to give them a call. Kris (or Chris) answered my call and she was very helpful and very nice! She found the size I needed (after describing to her what I needed to store) and even got me a lower monthly lease price at one of their other locations.Today, after about a week of leasing my storage unit, my sister and I stopped by to check out the unit so when the movers came I wouldnt look like such a dork trying to find it. After we finally found it we went to the office to ask a couple of questions, one was about an email I received letting me know that they would be painting the facility during the time I planned to move in. I spoke with Rodney, the store manager, and he assured me we would have full access to my unit. He was very nice and had a sense of humor! What more could you ask for?Then as my sister and I were leaving we pull up to the gate to leave thinking it was an automatic sensor gate, the gate wouldnt open. So my sister ran into the office and the woman (I didnt get her name) was so helpful and sweet and didnt make us feel like complete idiots (were were supposed to punch in our code on the keypad, that we didnt even notice, before we got to the gate).Everyone I have come into contact with at Extra Space Storage has been the best! I had the pleasure of working with Rodney, who has extremely great customer service. He has been nothing but respectable, patient, and understanding of my situation and, at times, my impatience with storage lock. Rodney not only had to break into my storage with a drill because of my negligence (I lost the key within a month! Can you believe it?) But Rodney also found me a completely new space soon after on the lower level because I was having issues on the upper level which he also had to adjust the lock for because I couldnt get the lock to function with my key because it was a tad bit older unit. The staff here are very friendly and very helpful. A few years ago I had another storage unit with another company, not mentioning any names (P.S.) but they were awful. The business model at the other place (P.S.) seems to be built around hammering you with you fees left and right. I also had things stolen from my unit, which had to be done by employees of the place, but never got any resolution for that. Extra Space storage was very easy to work with and through the tough times of COVID have been very good to me and helpful. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them or to use them again.

Picked my code, then went to the storage and walked around till I found it, then broke off this tab off the door and start moving in. Oh the coolest thing of all there was a brand new lock in the storage, and they cut the side so you could get the lock out without needing something to cut it open!If you want contactless this is the storage to rent! They were very helpful informing me about my storage unit, and very welcoming. Comment: This storage facility is one of the best I have ever used!!!! Employees are exceptional customer service and support . My unit for storage I described over the phone to the site manager. Hes awesome. He know his stuff. The facility is gated, very well maintained. Security is high end outside of storage units and on the outside grounds. Prices for storage units are THE BEST!!! I checked around. I would RECOMMEND this storage facility for anyone NEEDING extra space

The staff is always friendly and helpful, and you can reserve units online (and usually at a cheaper rate!). Units are clean and affordable, and payment is easy. Comment: So both my lady and I had a very pleasant experience here at ExtraSpace Storage. We had spent all day looking into prices, as well as best options regarding space. We then chose to set up a viewing for a storage here and decided to go check it out. We were running a little bit behind on schedule but we arrived to the Extra Space on Oceanside Blvd but the lady there said that she didn’t have us booked for a storage.. we were confused, she then explained that there is another ExtraSpace Storage on Oceanside Blvd but it was 5 min until they closed there would be absolutely no way we would make it, the lady offered to call the correct ExtraSpace for us and asked Sergio, the assistant store manager who answered the phone if they would stay open for us as we came to the wrong one and he kindly agreed to wait for us. Although we showed up almost 10 min after closing Sergio waited for us and we couldn’t have been more than grateful because we desperately needed a unit. Sergio is the definition of excellent customer service, not only did he walk us to the unit they had reserved for us, but he answered any question we may have had along the way. He was very charismatic and made us feel really comfortable. Not only were we grateful he agreed to wait for us even after hours but he definitely did not show any type of fatigue from having to stay on the job. I’m sure people have experienced going to a business before closing and have encountered restless yet unpleasant employees who exhibit customer hindrance, which is the exact opposite of good customer service. Making clients/customers feeling uncomfortable because they are still at the business very near closing time which then upsets some employees because that would mean they have to stay on shift longer to attend these customers until they are finished.. Now let me just say, I know what it’s like having a long shift and wanting to go home but Sergio showed us what an exemplary store manager should be like, he did not rush us to view the unit, go through the rental agreement for unit, he patiently and kindly was attentive to all of our questions and concerns as well as keeping such a positive and humorous dialogue. Even after doing all the paperwork, which was way past his time to go home he still walked us to the keypad to make sure the code we were given granted us access and correctly worked. So we want to thank you Sergio, for taking your time to do your job and demonstrate to us what an excellent store manager should be like. Both my lady and I have experience in the Customer Service world and both have been Store Managers so we both can easily agree that ExtraSpace Storage has chosen the perfect person to represent your business as Sergio holds all the qualities that a customer should receive at any business. We experienced increased friction and inability to receive military discount by a former employee, requiring us to make 2 additional (otherwise unplanned) trips to the location to have the issue resolved. After that, Amanda took good care of us and we are grateful for her kindness and attention to our issue.

When we first moved here the first group was okay, but now its outstanding.A Lot of improvements have taken place and the facility has improved a great deal and as I understand more is to come.Cost always is an issue for everyone and its no different here. However the folks here make the corporate side palatable.

Comment: Great facility even though the remodeling they are doing the staff is always pleasant and friendly and will stop to help anytime you have a problem or if they seem like you may be unsure about something. Very knowledgeable and upfront with what they offer and how they can best assist you to give you the best deal for what you need. Comment: This is a great facility. I did not like the first storage room the showed us, but they were more than willing to make us feel comfortable and switched us to a new room. We are a military family with things always changing. And they did all they could do to help us out. I truly appreciate how the management accommodated me and my husband.
