Comment: I won a storage unit that went up for auction here at this facility and it was by far the best experience ive had since I started buying units that go up for auction. It mainly was due to Tanya (I hope thats her name) She was on top of her game. From calling me after I won the auction to check in and introduce herself, to my arrival at the facility she was ready with the paperwork, she had the knowledge to process and finalize the bid. As I was loading all the goodies she came over to check on me (No other storage facility has ever done that-to me) I just felt she went above and beyond explaining to me the rules and the lay of the land and was just all around a pleasure.The facility and office was clean the grounds were clean, for this facility being an Oakland I was pleasantly surprised and I wouldnt mind doing business with Tanya/them in the future.

Comment: Throughout the years, I have used several different storage companies in different areas of the U.S. In all of those situations, Ive never received the level of service that I have received from LaTanya; she is friendly and personable, professional and helpful. In the two and a half years that Ive been storing here, she has gone out of her way to provide an excellent customer experience. The facility itself is very conveniently located just off 980/880. Its incredibly clean and well-maintained. I appreciate having a flatbed cart available in the building. I have purchased supplies here and they are reasonably priced; that has not been my experience at other storage facilities. If there is one thing that I would change here, it would be the price raises after the initial period but that is not a local decision. I highly recommend this Extra Space Storage.

I shipped my personal items via Matson from Maui, Hawaii and the drop off of the container did not include unloading the items. LaTanya found a kind man who immediately helped me. She waves when I enter and has on several occasions come to help me clear debris and leaves from the front of my unit. The other day, I went by and could not slide the lock shut and I tried what I had seen LaTanya do, which was remove debris from around the door, but to no avail. I have happily rented there for a number of years including an upper floor indoor unit where there was never a time when that corridor in front of my unit, which was next a a high-use stairway, was not polished and so gleaming one could imagine eating off of it. I have noticed the downstairs outside units—where I initially rented before moving upstairs, have their rolling doors cleaned regularly.The most baffling--not to say magical touch--that Ms Bennett brings to the running of the facility is how she is able tomanage it so efficiently and yet in a friendly, cooperating manner. I have witnessed her dealing with many problems. In my experience, problems were always resolved in a friendly manner with everyone satisfied with the result, renter and management alike.Mangers like Ms Bennett do not come down the pike every day!

Would be nice if there were carts above and below floors so we won’t hafta carry from the lift to the our unit and would be nice if there was an outside restrooom available with a lock keyed to a code that only unit users can use but hey for what I’m paying for my unit compared to public storage. Comment: Tanya is the bomb!! She was my rental agent at the market store and she remembered me from a years back. THAT alone is 5 star STELLAR service considering all the people she comes into contact with on a daily. I was SO happy to see her again today when we discovered that we needed a larger unit than originally rented. She took excellent care of me then and in the same fashion, provided exceptional service today making the transfer smooth & seamless. Thanks again Tanya!!

We had a bunch of supplies that were donated for Puerto Rico due to hurricane Maria and needed a place to store them asap. She was just amazing. I can not thank her enough!!

Comment: Ive had such a pleasent experience dealing with these guys! Our movers recommended the Fallon location because they are reasonably priced, safe, have an onsite manager and are overall good people! I also spoke with Tanya on the phone before my move, and she was super helpful making a quesstimate on what size unit I might need. Overall really happy.

Comment: I was moving out of San Francisco, and waited until the last minute to find a storage unit. Fortunately, Extra Space on Fallon, had the size I was looking for, and I was able to book it online the night before the moving truck arrived. I called the office the minute it opened the next day, just to confirm they had my reservation in the system. Fortunately, Tanya picked up the phone, and assured me the unit would be there, reserved, for me, and would be there waiting for me, when I rolled up with my truck full of stuff. I called her two more times that morning, to say I was still coming, and each time she was very friendly, patient and gracious. She said not to worry, but I still did! When we arrived to the office, I got the same reception in person as I did on the phone - amazing! Very professional, courteous and efficient. She showed us to the clean unit, that had a great roll-up door, and we were ready for business. The moving truck showed up moments later, and the guys were thrilled at how easy it was to move in. She also took the time to explain the details of the contract, and what you were getting into.I would recommend this place to many others, for the ease of access, especially for the drive-up units, and for the professionalism displayed by the on-site manager, Tanya!

All the people that work here are super friendly and helpful. They got me a special discount moving in and out. The facility is very clean, no bugs, decent climate control. Comment: Staff were outstandingly friendly, helpful, & accommodating. When separating my stuff out of a shared family storage unit, the front office found me an affordable, adequate unit close-by and processed the lease on the spot. Although the first-month free only applies to their largest units, they accepted my familys home-owners insurance as coverage for my new unit and made it as convenient & affordable as possible for me to get everything moved & situated. I would absolutely recommend Extra Space Storage on Fallon Street in Oakland to anyone who needs storage space in Oakland. The facility also appears to have a reliable security system with thorough monitoring after hours. The front offices stated late-fee policy is also reasonable.

Comment: After visiting several storage facilities, including another Extra Space Storage location, I actually chose this facility because, Katherine, the manager at this location was extremely friendly and helpful when I first stopped by to inquire about rates for a storage unit. The other locations lacked any kind of personal connection and friendly service. I felt like I was just another number filling another numbered space. Even though two other facilities offered the first month free, this facility had less expensive monthly rates over the long-term. I made a great decision renting at this location and I am glad that I have a space here. The location is great, only three blocks from the freeway, six blocks from a BART train station and close to downtown, Lake Merritt, central Jack London Square, and the marina. The facility is also clean and well maintained. The landscaping along the outside has been updated and a city service drain underneath the outside sidewalk that had backed up during the winter rains were promptly repaired and serviced. This week they will be repaving the driveways. It is apparent that Katherine cares about having a great facility and providing great service. Often times, it are the little things that made a big difference. And this is where I store my stuff, both precious and worthless. After all, it is more or less an extension of my home. I highly recommend this location and tell all my friends as well as anyone who needs storage about it.

Comment: Katherine is very helpful. I have used this location for 4 months visiting the unit about once a month. Each time shes been pleasant. I feel the site is adequately secured. They have 24hr surveillance and a person living on the premises. The price changes and they require insurance on top of the monthly quote.

Comment: My experience here has thus been amazing. I enter the premise everyday, and there is always the lovely lady on staff who always smiles and have a hearty welcome every time I see her. The place is secured with a security gate with only the code that is given to you. Place is clean and in a great area. Great place and experience so far. Customer Service is great. The elevator lift was stuck, and there were 2 on staff, and they gladly helped me get the items out. Easy to get a hold of during office hours. Great place and experiences overall. Dont plan to leave anytime soon. :)-Dexter
