Comment: I recently have to move out of my storage unit at a different location due to a fire so I moved to Extra Space Storage in H.B. Since Sundays there closed I purchased a unit online which was a simple process. When I got to storage facility I went to unit first to see the condition of unit first before grabbing anything out of truck and I was very impressed on how spotless it was and there was nothing left from previous people. The very next morning the manager reached out to me to make sure I was content with my unit and that I had enough room for all my belongings and to see if there was anything I needed which was great! He also reached out to my previous location to make sure they moved me out because it still showed that I wasn’t moved out and that I was refunded for new unit since I was given month free due to inconvenience of the fire at other location. They went above and beyond to accommodate me in every way they could. Great people!!

Comment: Hello everyone needing extra storage! I wanted to shout out how impressed I was after many, many, many months going to my storage unit! They had increased the security in two areas!! The gate code was updated and the extra security going into the unit door!! Awesome!! That 2nd layer of security was very appreciated by myself being a woman!!! The storage site was incredibly clean!!! I didnt know what I was going to see when I opened my unit since it had been so long! No silt. Spider webs...bugs!!! Just as I left it when I left it!! When I was leaving Ronny was doing a perimeter check and asked if he could put the dolly away for me! He asked what else he could do to help...I said my monthly rent had increased periodically and I was struggling now. He was going to check with the owner to see if anything could be done. Which I can report was approved! I was so impressed how clean the property is even the restroom !!! Thank you everyone for all your hard work and dedication to protecting our STUFF

Comment: Members of our family have been a customer at Extra Space Storage on Warner Ave in Huntington Beach since 2006. During this time we have had some of the best store managers one could expect. We have a new manager by the name of Mr. Joe Linares who we met twice. Joe has showed he is a person who is knowledgeable of the company and very professional. However, there are some additional traits he has which are not learned in a classroom whether in a school or a business. These traits are learned from his parents a willingness to listen, have passion and understanding of his fellow humans concerns and where there is a solution to apply it. Bottom line is Joe has a big heart, a desire to help. My husband rented us a 10x10 unit only a couple of months ago for around $150/month and we just received a notice that theyll be increasing the price to $259 due to market conditions. However, when I go onto their website theyre still offering units of the same exact size at $157.00/month. If it was really due to market conditions then new units would have increased as well- this is bait and switch.

Today I got a letter in the mail stating that my rate will be increasing to $259 on January 1st because of market conditions. Thats almost a 50% increase after only 4 months! I understand small increases to account for inflation, etc. But that is crazy. I will be looking for another place to store my belongings.

Comment: STAY AWAYTermites discovered upon move out on 7/17. Avoid unit 0024. 4x4 unit costs and way too much and now I’m paying even more for lost time. Along with wood, termites eat these boxes according to research.Update on 7/21: 3 “courtesy” boxes, out of the impacted 15 in storage, for their harm then an ignored request for an urgent call from district management because the boxes are in my car — a car that is used for WORK today!

Comment: This facility has a lot of positives! The staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They go above and beyond to help and are very good communicators. The facility itself is clean and has easy access. One of my favorite things about Extra Space is that they allow access to your storage until 10 pm, which has made a world of difference for a business like us that needs to have late night access for our next day selling. Do be mindful that if you get their online special your rent will be raised in price after the 3 month introductory offer!

There was damage to some of my furniture and even some documents and family pictures because they had mouses or rats not sure I never saw them. Comment: My mother in law rented a small storage unit back in October and was notified that her belongings were all stolen. The lock was picked apparently and there were other units that were stolen too. We got compensated poorly and to our disappoint, the police department that investigated the property said their cameras werent working. Really hope this establishment considers fixing their cameras otherwise something fishy is going on. If you value your belongings you are better off renting somewhere else. We only had the unit for only 2 months and already it was stolen, even though there are gates and cameras. Thanks to them, weve lost all our photo albums of our loved ones, those were priceless.

Comment: Within my first month here their gate needed work and was open all day for several weeks. My unit was broken into and some of my belongings stolen. The front desk person said several units were also broken into during the same time frame. I will be looking for a more secure storage facility to store my belongings.Many of these indoor units have big gaps at the top of the wall that someone could easily crawl over and into your unit.Security is very lax at this facility and they have shown very little care in rectifying these break ins with their customers. Their response was essentially, sorry that sucks.If you value your possessions, do not use this location.

Then days after I moved in, I was contacted via phone call (while at the facility) telling me that I had to move out within 48 hours. ….why? Because someone had used my identity to break into to multiple extra space storage units around the OC/LA area. Comment: Staff is great! They make sure to go over all your options when picking a unit. They dont try to rush you out the door. The gate hours are awesome 6am to 10 pm everyday. The lighting is good. There is no annoying homeless people trying to stay at the unit all day. The on site manager is a really good guy and is always going above and beyond to help you out. Thank you guys! This staff most definitely deserves a really raise!

Comment: I have had a storage unit at this location for several years now. This location is always clean and secure so I feel confident that my stuff is safe. Over the last few years I have been working hard to slowly downsize. Fortunately, Keith has been an AWESOME help when I needed to change the size of my storage unit. He is always so pleasant, friendly and helpful. It might be a small thing but he remembers both me and my boyfriends names and makes me feel like he has my best interest in mind. For example, I reserved a smaller unit online and when I got there he actually found me a much closer unit to the one I was previously using. I would never have known had he not taken the time to find that one for me. I was very grateful! Keith offers such great customer service and is definitely an asset to this company! Thank You for the easy transitions!

Comment: The guys at the front were amazing. Keith was very helpful and showed me multiple units to help me find the right size. He was very informative and made it easy for me. Good size units are offered at a great deal here. They have cameras and a gate to help keep your belongings safe and secure. The place is well kept and offer whatever is needed (Dolly, lock, moving necessities, etc) I highly recommend!

Helped both my sister and me find a unit, very friendly in helping my sister when setting one up for an appointment.Even called a couple days after to see how the move went.Great people.Storage unit is good for the price, a little beat up but keep in mind your only storing your stuff.. it beats paying 200/300$ for a super nice storage unit, where your stuff is just sitting.Overall just great service!

Comment: I started off this day with a 5 star review. Keith asked me to give a review and told me his boss didnt think he could get a google review this week. We had rented a 7 x 10 with a special on the internet for $90. Before we unloaded, we measured the unit and it was only 7 x 8! We told Keith and he had us look at another and it was 7 x 9. He then told me the measurements are approximate. The only 7 x 10 they had available was on the first floor and it was for $106. At this point I was so incredibly frustrated, as we had our truck waiting to unload. We told him we would take it and then I told him I was aggravated that he had really wanted me to give him a good review and now I wish I hadnt. He told me his hands were tied and the district manager made the decision. I said why should I have to pay extra for your mistake. Then he basically refused to rent me any unit and refunded my money. There is truth and then there are lies. If they were upfront with the measurements, theyd have to charge less money. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RENTING HERE. Fortunately we found the size we wanted at SEACLIFF SELF STORAGE. It was larger than they said for a better price!

Comment: The crew is very friendly. They treat you like family. They are also very informative on locating an Extra Space Storage if you are moving anywhere. They set you up at your new location before you leave your old. No more waiting until the office opens at your new location. You are set up with your new storage unit number and access code. Convenient if you arrive at your new location at 6:00am!!

Comment: Exceeded All my Expectations!I moved here from a Public Storage unit because I was delighted to find a cleaner, more professionally run facility with reasonable prices! Sean Layton, Keith and the rest of the staff very welcoming while still taking care of business. Sean even located a unit easier for me to get to. Comment: Im very disappointed with them. I have been with Extra Storage now for many years and have always paid in time. Never missed payments. Warren and Keith have always been very nice and very helpful.Now that I am ready to move the story changes. They do not stand behind their word. I had a payment due and was going to move out a few days later so I called and was told that I could pay a prorated amount on the day I move out. No.problem. I called today to make sure everything was still ok and was told I was being suspended for being a couple days late and that I would have to pay a whole month for the two days I would be in there.Be very sure what they say because they change the story on you.I would get everything in Writing! !!!!!!!!!!!!The experience has been very nice until now!! Be careful!!!

Comment: Great self storage facility. Keith and Warren were so helpful in every way. I had limited time to remove my storage from my apartment including my car. Lets just say these fellas made the process as painless as possible. Gated facility with surveillance on the property. Spacious storage units, and they even have dollys to help with your load! I will definitely be using Extra Space Storage in the future!
